Additional sketches and some ramblings under the cut.
This is based on an encounter I had the other day, when a demoman took a medkit before my medigun connected with him. When he saw my health was down to 21, he would force me to stand at the spawn point and guarded me until I was healed. Wherever you are now, if you read this, you were a good lad and I love you.
Sometimes I think about how medic is emotionally very invested in the missions (which shows in his voice when he shouts at his team), but off-duty and during friendly taunts he seems to be among the most giggly, and fun-loving mercenaries in the team. I like to think he can get agitated very fast, but cools down just as quickly.
I cannot stop thinking about the new evil Durgeheart ending, it is so devastating. Girl had complete faith in you all the way to the end but they were doomed by the narrative. i am so unwell.
Like it captures the core essence of redemption!Durgeheart so agonizingly well. Their bond is about saving each other. Shadowheart's arc mirrors Durge's in a way that makes her line here all the more gut wrenching. Both of them pawns to a god, groomed to become something monstrous. But while you were able to save Shadowheart from Shar, Bhaal's influence ran too deep for Durge.
The tragedy here isn't that they didn't love each other. The love was there. It wasn't enough.
So we talked about how Tamarack's color palette matches with her favorite colors before. And since then, I've been wondering if Qiu has similar explanation behind their color palette as Tamarack does with hers.
But unlike Tamarack, Qiu's favorite color is only gold, and they don't even have it in their color palette. I guess their sweater can kinda fall on the gold spectrum, but this still doesn't explain the green jacket, the red scarf, or the other colors in their outfit.
So... does this stop me from trying to find some secret explanation behind those colors?
*Puts on tin foil hat*
Nope! Quite the opposite actually, I'm taking this as a personal challenge.
Let's start with the green jacket. It's easy to miss this line, but if MC says their favorite color is green, Qiu will mention that they like green too—the darker kinds, like how their jacket is.
Earlier, we considered their sweater looking pretty close to gold, but it is stated in the game that their sweater is orange, which is the color that both Qiu and Ren like.
(I personally disagree and think Qiu's sweater is brown, but maybe it's just me )
And following that pattern, I think we can also assume that the red in Qiu's scarf and sneakers comes from the color that Ren likes too.
But if their close friends' favorite colors is the pattern here, then what about Baxter?
Well, Baxter's favorite colors are black and white.
And guess what the colors of Qiu's bike (and helmet) are?
Okay. Yeah. I know I'm going overboard with the color analyzing. This is the kind of stuff your brain came up with on 3 am when you thought you had a big epiphany but then realized how silly it sounds after you write it down.
But intentional or not, I still think it's interesting that Tamarack's palette is mostly formed of her favorite colors, while Qiu's palette has their friends' favorites but lacks the one color that they like the most.
(Interestingly, though... step 2 is the time where they actually have gold in their color palette, but the colors they originally had in step 1 seem to disappear in that stage)
so I came up with a twisted and depressing crack head canon a while back that hyth might have been pressured/obligated to sacrifice himself (and went along with it trying to be positive for emet's sake) because if the convocation members are exempt from being sacrificed but they need the people to trust them and go along with the plan, why not offer up their own loved ones to reassure people? it would be proof that they think they can get them back someday, right?
and now we have erich, laha's son, talking like he was directed by the convocation to sacrifice himself
after 'wilson's heart' he really flipped from being the emotional/feelings-driven part of the relationship for me. amber dying really a number on him and it shows in how his relationship with house warps a little. before wilson was the lover and house was the loved one then amber shows up and house gets crazy defensive, then she dies and it makes wilson draw back enough to scare him. like after that he really fishes for wilson's attention all the time and obsesses over him and does everything to keep their relationship stable. literally after season 4 there's a visible switch from him being dismissive of feelings to being like wilson did you know i love you forever. and the dynamic switches and wilson is the loved one and house is the lover. do you get me
Complex single-voice sequencing, inspired by Strega's architecture.
Oscillator with complex shaping->delay->filter, it's a simple core principle but with the right choices and modulation it allows for some truly varied sounds to be squeezed out. Banshee reach is receiving FM and Shape modulation, going through Erbe-Verb, QPAS, and Melotus Versio. Percussion comes from Taiko and Daiko through Data Bender. Sequencing is done by Marbles, with range and bias played heavily to create variations.
"would you peel an orange for me" and "would you still love me if i was a worm" are the same question
would you love me needy? would you love me helpless? would you be kind to me and expect nothing in return? if i couldn't speak or hold your hand or do the dishes, would you still be gentle with me? would you wash my hair? would you resent me? would i be a burden to you? am i a burden to you now? and if i am, are you willing to shoulder it? can i rely on you? do you love me? do you love me?
