Thinking about Steve Rogers and number 17 (we haven’t even started)
Including age gap, power dynamics, Dacryphilia, fear kink. Honestly thinking about a sickly sweet kidnapper!Steve who’s been stalking reader. “Don’t you think you’re one lucky girl, got Captain America desperate to use that pretty little cunt” and ohhhhh god. He tells reader how special she is, she was made for it, so she better start acting fuckin grateful. Prompt comes in the first time he’s gonna actually use her fully

BEWITCHINGLY FEARFUL
younger.ᐟcaptive reader && dark.ᐟsteve rogers with PROMPT (17)
DARK AND TRIGGERING CONTENT AHEAD, THESE ARE THE WARNINGS.
You crawled your shuddering body in the corner of the disgustingly narrow dorm he put you in a while ago. You didn’t even remember when he had brought you here, the time seemed to dilate and constrict, you didn’t know how long has gone since you were taken from your ordinary lifestyle. The room was barely kissed by a cold neon light from outside of it. The light refracted through a thin glass above the metal door and there was no other source of illumination.
In an instant, the sound of metal howling—the door was much rusted and it sounded infernal every time it was unlocked—made you flinch and bury your lips in the back of your wrist to stop the fearful sobs from escaping.
The unnatural coldness of the neon made your weakened, teary eyes scrunch in pain, but not for long.
The light was tracing Steve Roger’s broad figure, and it made his shoulders and arms look impossibly titanic and all-consuming. Fear was the death of the mind—you knew it—but for you, it was different. Fear made you see grotesque and leviathanic things, it possessed you and your every sense. Or maybe—this was just the effect the man above you had and not your rational feeling.
When he crouched down next to you, the heart almost jumped from your chest. Acidic tears of hatred, anger and frighten ran down your cheeks as his fingers caressed the burning skin of them. You didn’t pull away. You knew better.
“How’s my beautiful girl, hm?”, he started, a faint smug smirk planted on his face.
You swallowed with difficulty, the insipidness of the spit running down your deserted throat and your eyes shot up and bore into his arctic blue ones.
He was Captain America. That one Captain America everyone talked about. He was supposed to protect the souls of his countrymen, not lock young and unwilling girls in the basements of his houses and force them to breathe moldy air in his nightmarish presence.
You whined when his calloused, huge hand wrapped around your jaw and squeezed as he pulled your face closer to his. It hurted so much. “Tell me you want me too, sweetheart. Look how much I love you.”, he grunted, eyes sparkling with sickening hope as his free hand crept between the flesh of your thighs. You tried to close your legs as you pulled your face away roughly, before he even got the chance to plant his poisonous kisses all over it.
Steve clenched his jaw tightly, and you saw the muscles in his knuckles tighten. Like a snap of a bone, his patience cracked and he slapped you across the face. You gritted your teeth as his arms, surprisingly tender, contrasting what he has just done, wrapped around your body. “Can’t you see what you’re doin’ to me?”, Steve asked—as if he forgot the act of violence he threw upon you seconds ago—, forcing your palm over his brutally rigid bulge. It made you feel even more dizzy and nauseous, its thickness scaring you to your core. “I love you, sweetheart, I love you so much. You’re so special.” His heartbeat patted loudly against your back. “N-no…”, you whimpered, trying to get out of his hold. But it was completely useless, strengthening serum was running through his veins and the determination he had in playing with your mind into believing he cared for you genuinely made your skin crawl.
“Sweetheart, show a little gratitude. I saved you from the misery you lived in, and I’ll give you a future by my side, you’ll be the most gorgeous thing on my arm, you’ll have everything you would ever possibly want. Jus’ be good for me, ‘cause you won’t leave this place, so why not make it pleasurable for yourself?”. His hand reached for his jeans and the sound of the zip made you tense again and clench your thighs together in fear even harder.
“I j-just wanna go home…”, you cracked, a sob tearing through you.
Steve shook his head and then, he reached for your face again, his thumb rubbing the tears off.
“F-fuck you…”, you spat, as realization just hit you again and brightened your mind into acknowledging who was holding you, as he pulled you over his thigh, making you staddle it in attempt of stopping your cries... “Don’t you think you’re one lucky girl, got Captain America so desperate to use your pretty little cunt…”, Steve grunted in your ear as he reached out to toy with the lace of your underwear, purposefully ignoring the way you cursed at him.
His words pulled the last string of obedience from you, and, as if you forgot the burn of his slap, you hit him right across the face. You were slowly but surely slipping into madness down there, because no fully sane person, chiefly in your position, wouldn't do that to the golden boy of America.
It did nothing to injure him. However, his gaze turned obsidian, void of any sympathy or human emotion. He inhaled, chest puffing and almost throwing you off his thigh. Your limbs went still as his stare pinned you in place. This was possibly your greatest mistake ever made.
You expected to receive a slap — not a punch. It sent you right on the chill-soaked floorboards. Your trembling knuckles reached for the blood-covered cheekbone, agonizingly gently to wipe it off. The crimson substance was hot on your digits, warming their frozen state.
Steve’s knee fell on your spine, as his merciless grasp tore your underwear off your hip bones. You whined, but the punch drained the life out of you, so you were very feeble and you could do nothing against it but whimper and plead.
If he cared for you, just as he has claimed...why wasn't he stopping when he saw you so vividly and indisputably horrified?
“I fuckin' love it when you're so scared f'me...”, he growled in your ear. Tears made your body convulse, his words giving you the answer to your unspoken question, as he was preparing his thick member to take what he wanted from you, silent screams wrecking your being. Your mind was shouting: 'Please, do not do this. Not now. Not ever.'
“C’mon, baby, don’t cry…we haven’t even started.”

I'm so tired of being labeled a "book purist" just because I prefer the source material. Believe me, honey, when I say this: I couldn't care less about two spoiled brats squabbling over a throne they’re both woefully unfit to sit on.
Like, are we seriously going to pretend that when we've got titans like Aegon the Conqueror, Maegor the Cruel, Daeron the Young Dragon, and the Great Bastards, I'm supposed to give a damn about a catfight between two weaklings? Please. That's like putting a schoolyard slap fight next to a gladiator brawl. And don’t even get me started on the people who only crawled out of the woodwork when the House of the Dragon dropped, acting like they've been die-hard fans from day one. Bitch, shut up and spare me your pseudo-expertise. You probably couldn't even tell me who Septon Barth was if I handed you Fire & Blood on a silver platter.
And oh, the takes these people have—God, it's actually funny. They'll call Helaena "useless" while stanning show-Rhaenyra, who's basically a cheap mash-up of Daenerys and book Helaena, minus any of the nuance. Make it make sense, because I’m lost.
And then there's the blasphemy about Daeron. Like, excuse me, but what in the Seven Hells are you even talking about? Daeron was the only one of Viserys' children truly worthy of the throne. He was perfect—kind, gentle, brave, loving, capable, strong, and intelligent. In other words, everything his siblings weren’t. Daeron would've actually made a good king, which, funnily enough, is probably why he gets ignored.
As for the show? It’s a steaming pile of trash. The only reason I’m still tuning in is because the actors are hot. That's it. I’m just being honest here—call it shallow if you want, but at least I'm not pretending there's some deep, compelling narrative worth sticking around for.

Snowbirds Don’t Fly- Drugs TW (Obviously)
Recently, I created this post about Snowbirds Don’t Fly being told from Roy’s perspective in the Green Arrow 80th anniversary special, and I thought I’d make a separate post with some specific panels from the original Snowbirds. I’m well aware that a lot of people haven’t read the full comic and may only know this-

-infamous slap panel, I myself only read the original 1971 comic recently. So, here’s some other panels from the comic.

For starters, when Ollie finds Roy amongst drug users, his immediate reaction is “oh, Speedy must be undercover!” This could be interpreted one of two ways- trust, or denial. Either one makes his reaction to finding out Roy’s addiction understandable*, since if it’s a reaction based on trust then Roy’s essentially betrayed that trust or, more likely, if it’s a reaction based on denial then finding Roy shooting up is an immediate shattering of the illusion. While this comic obviously focuses on drug use, it’s also common for tons of different issues, be it mental health, sexuality, whatever. Parents like to live in denial about their kids’ issues and, particularly in the 1970s when the idea of ‘gentle parenting’ was a rarity at best, when that illusion is broken it can cause parents to lash out when faced with evidence of what they’re denying. Even if you don’t personally see Ollie and Roy’s relationship as father/son, that is very clearly the dynamic portrayed in this comic.
*note the wording; understandable, not justifiable. Are Ollie’s actions justified? No. Are they understandable based on the circumstances and time period? Yes.

I’m putting these two panels together because I think they fit well. A common misinterpretation I see for the circumstances leading up to Roy’s heroin addiction is that Ollie was neglecting him. However, it’s stated in the comic that Ollie’s not seen him in one month, and while Roy’s age isn’t specifically stated, he’s an adult at this point (I don’t have any sources for it, but I believe he was living on his own at this point). A parent not seeing their adult child for one month isn’t neglect. In Ollie’s eyes, he hasn’t done anything wrong. The aspect of neglect comes from Roy. I’ve talked about Roy’s fear of abandonment in my pinned post, so check that out for more. Roy has a need to be surrounded by the people he cares about- he’s very rarely a solo hero, and is the most vocal objector whenever the Titans disband. So what Ollie would have seen as giving Roy space and letting his now-adult son have his independence, Roy saw it as a sign that he was no longer wanted. Is this either of their faults? No. And not to keep bringing up the 70s again, but it was the 70s. Would a young-adult superhero tell his father/mentor that he was scared of being alone? Absolutely not, that would have been seen as emasculating, so he bottled it up meaning Ollie had absolutely no clue as to what Roy was feeling whenever he’d leave.

And then this is the page following the slap panel, which essentially sums up my point in my last snowbirds post. Ollie’s immediate reaction after “kicking Roy out” (another thing I commonly see Ollie haters using- again, Roy lived on his own at this point) is blaming himself, the fear of having failed Roy, and then the stifling of that blame, justifying it to himself mentally. Honestly I think this panel is more significant in art than dialogue in a lot of ways- the way Ollie turns his head away when Roy’s talking to him, he knows he’s in the wrong, but admitting he’s wrong would go against the “father knows best” ideology of that time. And then in the third panel, the conflicting emotions is visible in his eyes. He doesn’t know what to think, the illusion is broken, and he can’t ignore Roy’s issues any longer.

And then there’s Hal, the narrative foil to Ollie in this comic. Unlike Ollie, Hal doesn’t have that illusion, at least not as strongly as Ollie does, since he’s always played the role of a supportive uncle figure, but never a father. He’s able to recognise that Roy was speaking from experience, or at least had a hunch, and actively sought out Roy afterwards. However, he also doesn’t have a saviour complex. He knows that he personally doesn’t have the skillset necessary to help Roy, so he brings him to someone who does, recognising that its more important that Roy gets the help he needs rather than Hal stepping in and doing it himself in typical “hero” fashion.

This panel doesn’t tie into my overarching argument, but I just wanted to take a moment to criticise Roy’s recovery story in the New 52. The idea that Roy was suicidal before Killer Croc (???) dragged him to rehab/AA, and would not have gotten better without being forced, is a major disservice to Roy’s character (then again, what in RHaTO isn’t?) Roy made the decision to get clean himself, and you can feel his resolve even despite him clearly not being in his right state of mind. Roy Harper got clean because he accepted help, and because he himself made that choice. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

And then, of course, there’s the most significant person in Roy’s recovery; Dinah. Keep in mind Dinah and Roy barely even knew each other at this point, I’m pretty sure in Arsenal #1 it’s shown she didn’t even know his name was Roy until Snowbirds (though there may be other sources that contradict this). Dinah was 100% Roy’s biggest supporter in his recovery- she took him in when he was at his lowest, and as a result they developed such a strong bond and relationship. While I disagree with the concept of Dinah as the ‘Arrowmum’, mostly because A) she didn’t even know Roy until he was already in adulthood and B) it’s a gross oversimplification and diminishment of her character, there are undeniable aspects of their relationship which are mother/son-coded, and I believe she has referred to Roy as “my boy” in later comics, though again I don’t have sources to back this up. Either way, Dinah and Roy’s relationship started with Roy’s lowest and has continued as mutual care and respect and I love them a lot.

And finally, the ending page. Ollie *listens* to Roy at the end of Snowbirds. Now that the illusion’s already lifted, that there aren’t lies and rose tinted glasses separating them, Ollie’s able to actually listen to what Roy’s saying without immediately shrugging it off because it conflicts with his own perception. And he feels *proud* of Roy, proud of his recovery, and proud of his beliefs. If Ollie were truly the neglectful, abusive guy some fans paint him out to be, he wouldn’t be proud. Hell, he wouldn’t even be there. Keep in mind this final scene takes place at the funeral of one of Roy’s addict friends who overdosed earlier in the issue, a funeral Ollie attended.
Snowbirds Don’t Fly was written to show the audience addiction through someone they’re familiar with- Green Arrow’s sidekick, Speedy, someone we know is a hero and one of the good guys. It’s made to contradict the belief that addiction is a moral failing, that anyone could develop an addiction under certain circumstances. And what it shows the readers, it also shows Ollie. Ollie sees someone he cares about going through addiction, and it causes him to reevaluate his own biases and beliefs.
In conclusion, while the slap was definitely not justified, it was also not the part of the comic readers should focus on. The story of Snowbirds Don’t Fly, at least for Ollie, is one of a hero being forced to face one of his own beliefs, to struggle to reconcile said beliefs with new information, and eventually to change his beliefs as a result of new experiences. It’s called character growth, and that’s what Snowbird’s about. So stop calling Oliver Queen an abuser.

What a neat death trap for billionaires!

The Golden Knight
Evan had always admired the Golden Army from afar. Their golden jerseys, their unity, their unmatched spirit on the field—all of it had an aura of grandeur. But he never imagined that he’d become an essential part of their team in such an extraordinary way.
It all began on a warm, late afternoon when Evan was called into the Golden Army’s headquarters by Captain Richard. He wasn't a player, but his contributions as a fan and volunteer had not gone unnoticed. The Golden Army needed more than just players—they needed a symbol, a beacon of their strength. That’s when Richard made the offer.
"We need a mascot, someone to embody the essence of the Golden Knight, the one who leads us in spirit even when we're down. Someone to represent our golden ideals of loyalty, courage, and unity. And we’ve chosen you, Evan."
Evan could hardly believe his ears. He wasn’t sure what it entailed, but the thought of being part of the Golden Army, even in such a capacity, filled him with pride.
Richard led Evan to a room he had never seen before. Inside, a golden suit of armor rested on a stand, gleaming under the lights. It was magnificent, every inch of it polished to perfection. The chestplate had the Golden Army's emblem engraved into it—a lion surrounded by rays of sunlight.
“This armor,” Richard explained, “was crafted to represent the heart of the Golden Army. You’ll wear it during our matches, on the sidelines, and at special events. You’ll be our Golden Knight.”
Evan’s eyes widened as he took in the suit. He had always seen mascots as fun figures who boosted team morale, but this was different. This was regal. This was a role of honor. Without hesitation, Evan agreed.
The next day, he stood before the rest of the team, clad in the golden armor. The breastplate fit snugly over his chest, and the helmet, though heavy, felt empowering. The players—Brody, Griffin, Scott, Jackson, and the others—welcomed him warmly, each giving him a pat on the shoulder or a nod of approval. Brody, especially, beamed with pride.
“You’re one of us now,” Brody said, his tone full of warmth. "Our Golden Knight."
Evan took his new role seriously. On game days, he’d march ahead of the team as they entered the field, the crowd cheering wildly as his golden armor glistened in the sun. His presence on the sidelines became a source of inspiration for the players, a reminder of their golden ideals. When a game got tough, they’d glance toward Evan, standing tall and proud, and find the strength to push through.
As weeks passed, Evan found himself growing closer to the team, no longer just a fan or a volunteer, but a true part of the Golden Army. He stood by Richard’s side during the games, offering words of encouragement. He’d lead chants, his voice booming through the stadium. The crowd began to see him not just as a mascot, but as a guardian of the team’s spirit.
But it wasn’t all fun and games. There was pressure. When the Golden Army faced their rivals, The Titans, in a critical match, tension ran high. The Titans were tough, and the game wasn’t going in the Golden Army’s favor. At halftime, the team looked deflated, their energy sapped by their opponents' relentless assault.
Evan knew he had to do something. As the team gathered in the locker room, he stood in front of them, still in his gleaming golden armor.
“Remember who you are,” Evan said, his voice firm. “You’re the Golden Army. You fight for each other. You fight for every fan in that stadium. You fight for the honor of wearing that jersey.”
The players looked up, their spirits reigniting with every word. Richard nodded approvingly, and Jackson slapped Evan on the back. “You’re right,” Richard said. “We’re not done yet.”
The Golden Army returned to the field with a new fire in their hearts, and by the end of the match, they had triumphed, securing their spot in the playoffs. As the final whistle blew, Evan couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride. The players rushed toward him, lifting him high above their heads, their Golden Knight.
In the weeks that followed, Evan continued to serve loyally as the Golden Knight. He wasn’t just a man in a suit of armor; he was a symbol of the Golden Army’s unwavering resolve, a beacon of hope and strength.
And as long as he wore that armor, Evan knew he would always be a true member of the Golden Army, serving the bros any way he could.

Adam frowned at Evie, gold eyes flashing. After a second, his head tilted. "There's something weird with your magick. I'm sensing something... it's weird, I've never felt something like this."
"I sold my soul," Evie started, only for the cambion to shake his head.
"Demons can't sell out souls, that only works for mortals. Your being is completely intact, unlike a soul deal. Whoever told you you made a deal lied. What did you try and sell your soul for?"
Evie was reeling. Maverick had made it seem as if a soul deal was being made, she'd done that thing with a gem. Had that been faked? Had Maverick lied? "Immortality so Riah can drain my life force when he needs it, and astral projection abilities. She told me I'd sold my soul and part of my soul is on the Isle, with her."
That's what he was feeling. "No, but there's some kind of bond, something is lending you power. And... you're a shield." Looking closely, he could see the magic that guarded her mind. There was a tiny gap in the magic that the tether connected to. "I think you gave whoever it was blanket permission to go into your mind. They opened a hole in your shield. You're already immortal, demons are until we're killed, but there's some kind of protection. It's heavy- like something is giving you its life force. Let me-" He reached out, putting his hand into the trail of magic to try and figure out the source. His eyes went wide. Whatever this was was powerful beyond powerful- too powerful to be a god, too powerful to be a shedu or a titan. If he didn't know any better, he'd say it was Endless. But he knew what their magic felt like, their unique magic fingerprints. And this didn't match any of them.
But there was something-
His head ached as he tried to go deeper, because he could swear he'd felt this before. It had to have been before his father had vanished- whatever this was, it had been a major problem. If Adam hadn't solved it, his father would have. But Adam had been alive to feel it once, it wasn't genetic memory-
He wrenched his hand back so fast he nearly wound up on his ass.
A vortex.
Vortexes were far above his pay grade, above e en Saul's. Endless were a Noema issue. But he recognized one when he felt it. And this one was unique. It wasn't the simple power of a young vortex, this was refined, trained, adult. Whoever this was, they weren't just a vortex. They were an adult vortex. And that shouldn't have been possible.
Unless.
The Awakening had been a Destiny vortex. Saul had heard that this particular vortex had been family blood, meaning they'd been untouchable. In theory, that vortex could have survived the Awakening- he couldn't say how because there was no explanation- and gone to grow up. That was the only explanation for a vortex this powerful who was this old. He'd been six during the Awakening and couldn't be sure it had the same source as whatever this was, but it was the only option that made sense.
"Who did you make this deal with?" This was so much bigger than he'd thought-
Evie's answer of "Maverick Mim" stopped his heart.
He knew of Maverick. She was related to Destiny, if she hadn't been lying during the Noema debacle. She had some major power, but Noema and Kitten were the only two who'd ever met her face-to-face. It was making sense- she was powerful enough to reign in a child of Destiny without breaking a sweat. With training, a Destiny vortex might have been powerful enough to do that. And from what little he knew about her, her being a Destiny vortex would explain a lot. But it would mean-
He was going to slap himself.
Of course! She'd been the one behind the Awakening. It explained everything that hadn't made sense. That was why he recognized her magic but couldn't remember from where, because he'd been six during the Awakening, of course he barely remembered!
"Tell my sister to get Noema Presto and Doctor Fate." He ordered to Evie, barely registering her departure as he turned to a corkboard and started writing stuff down to make a conspiracy board. This was far, far bigger than the Veil and Hades.
Whatever this was, it was becoming a matter of reality itself.

Interesting video on the missing Titanic sub. While I'm sickened by individuals spending $250,000 on a tourist visit to the site of a tragedy, my anger and blame is mostly at the company (or companies!) offering such "experiences".
Even if we put aside the fact that this is a mass grave being monetized, there is a complete disregard for health and safety and risk assessment. Some libertarians are against such things, but they should be in place to protect consumers. Individuals do not necessarily understand the risks involved with such activities, even if they sign a waiver to say they do.
The sub does not have a GPS, a radio, a way to remove exhaled carbon dioxide (that we're aware of). It has limited oxygen. It would be diving to depths greater than nuclear submarines do, and we don't know if rescue vehicles can reach those depths. I'm going to guess the answer is no. It is a tiny pod with up to 5 people inside - what happens if an untrained passenger freaks out, hurts others, hyperventillates and uses up too much oxygen, etc.? The possibilities for catastrophe are endless. It's dangerous enough with trained team members on board.
Tourism to the Titanic should not be allowed, not only out of respect but because it is not safe. I've seen people argue that WW1/2 battlefields have "tourism" but these are a) generally much safer, with munition disposal procedures in place, and b) not exploiting the victims' deaths by charging a quarter of a million dollars per ticket.
This should never have been allowed and stricter controls must be put in place to prevent further tragedy and exploitation.
Edit: Want to add that some of my comments are likely incorrect, such as the lack of GPS. Please see sourced articles for facts. However such articles do describe a laughable state of the craft, which does support my message, which is that unregulated activities kill and it is deeply immoral to profit off the Titanic. Want to do research? Apply for funding, or approach a billionaire. But don't slap together a submersible and charge people to ride it.

okay so, my actual thoughts on the movie (i'll be mentioning massive spoilers at random so be warned)
i appreciate that the movie really put focus on all four boys as a collective instead of focusing on a select character, though it did feel like we only got a lick of them individually (though i'm sure that the show will make up for that)
the fight scenes???? bro i was grinning ear to ear every time the team was in action
the music was also super pleasant and gave in to the urban nightlife completely
i feel so dumb/unlucky that i had the chance to watch ferris bueller's day off yesterday and just decided not to, so to see it in the movie felt like my own personal slap in the face
actually the amount of references in the movie was about as much as i expected and a lot more at the same time, but it still felt fairly natural
attack on titan being the source of the boys' plan for the final fight is wild though, and its nice to see donnie's input be taken seriously in that regard
donnie's interesting now thinking about it, since i don't think there's any instance where he's considered a tech genius, he really is just a fandom kid and a lot of his ideas/skillsets are based around the content he consumes (the tism is strong here when i'm describing it)
also i know the boys were taught their ninja skills via home-video instructions, but how much do they actually know about their weapons??? donnie and the rest of them literally refer to his bo staff as a stick and not anything else
that might also explain why raph's sais are seemingly sharp, because none of them know that's even a defense weapon and is supposed to be dull
actually wait how did they even get their weapons?? why were there ninja weapons just chilling in the sewers– oh this could be a lore thing. ohoho this is a secret lore thing
oh yeah the milking joke was 100% seth rogan's idea i will not believe anything otherwise like what the fuck was that
i also need to know how the mutants age. odd question i know but they were all fetuses in tubes at the start of the movie and were raised by superfly for fifteen years, but they all seem to be different ages? it could be from their animal years but the turtles age like humans so wouldn't it be something similar? i'm definitely overthinking this but would love some input
speaking of the villains tho– the final fight?? where THE BOYS' SHELLS GOT CRUSHED??? i audibly gasped in the theaters how the hell did they walk that off
i just know fics are gonna be touching on that because the entire sequence was insane they'reonly14yearoldninjaturtles–
let them have physical therapy i beg, their bones are so fucked
i also need to rewatched this movie specifically because there was a background character with a skull t-shirt and my delusions are telling me it might be casey jones
overall i'm shaking

Hi I’m here to bother your inbox:
Favorite (non SP) fandom and why?
OOO shit, I’ve only ever been in the SP fandom to be honest, like it’s the only one I’ve really been involved in. 🫣 I wouldn’t count my music era from when I was 14-15 HOWEVER, I do interact with different fandoms of my interests but it’s mainly surface level 😭🙏
To name a few:
Invincible: I fucking love this show, it doesn’t have much of a fandom but I love the fanart I have seen and I love watching videos analysing the characters. It’s one of my favourite shows honestly and I’m so hyped for season three coming out in a week and a half now shshsh.
Arcane - I LOVED ARCANE SO MUCH!! It’s become one of my favourite TV shows, for its amazing writing and I love how nuanced the characters are (I’m honestly mad it exists bc nothing will ever come close to its story telling lol) I love all of the fanart and memes from the fandom, like it’s always GODSEND.
Epic the Musical: I LOVE LOVE LOVE this fandom!! I love watching the animatics and everyone reciting different sources from the Iliad/Odyssey and weaving it into Epic fanart, it’s really cool. I also just love the songs and I can’t wait for the day it becomes a movie or is on the stage.
Merlin - I’ve read a couple of fics from the Merlin fandom actually !! I love the show (I never finished it but shhhh) and I loved the characters so much - especially Gwyn and Merlin so I love seeing fanart of it. I also love the edits I’ve seen.
Winx - I HAVENT WATCHED THE SHOW IN YEARS BUT I LOVE THE FANDOM!! I love the ocs, the edits, the fanart. All of it, Winx was my whole childhood and the songs all slapped. My favourites will always be Aisha and Flora. (I’m also basing Wendy’s design of Tecna in my fic !!)
ATLA - It’s similar to how I interact with the Winx fandom, except I may rewatch it one of these days <3
Teen Titans - also the same as the other two except I’m also dying to rewatch this one as well.
Some other media/fandoms I like are: Moral Orel, Mouthwashing, The Princess and the Frog, Anastasia, Hercules, Treasure Planet, Road to El Dorado, Prince of Egypt, The Hunger Games, Wicked and Hamilton !!
For extra lore: The first fandom I was technically in was Sally Face!! My first ever fic was a Sally Face one which I wrote when I was 11 or 12. And no, no one may know about it, don’t worry about it LMAO.
WHAT WERE YOURS OMG ??? I’m curious now
#knowing myself I probably forgot other stuff#volta yaps#sorry i took forever i was trying to explain and remember each one LMAO

Speaking of Attack on Titan - on YouTube there's an abridged version of like a few episodes of season one that's really fucking funny if you wanna check it out after watching season one or even after watching all of it!! 😚 It's called A Slap On Titan and I rewatch it sometimes to cope with the ending of the show because I'm still in mourning 😭✋
Oh my god, that brings me back to the abridged series of Dragon Ball Z and Hellsing...the memes I got out of abridged anime I think i remeber the abridged series more then the shows themselves!

In the meantime while I anxiously await your plentiful truths, might I ask for what cartoons you might recommend my humble self?
Ah, my vassal! I am neariy finished writing that essay, I promise. Just a while longer, I need to be sure my sources are accurate.
I will say you should watch Samurai Rabbit, despite it being almost painfully cringeworthy at times. It's surprisingly well-written, though! It's only on Netflix.
In terms of TMNT, the only one I can recommend with my whole chest is Rise of the TMNT. I like the others (mostly— 2012 is on Thin Fucking Ice with the Donnie/April thing), but Rise is the best by far! I am Extremely Biased and am going to say you should watch the Usagi crossover episodes of 2003 (S2E23-26, S3E01 [does not contain a whole lot of Usagi, but he and Leo uh. Exchange swords], S3E22-23, S4E13, and S7E13 [no speaking lines, appears as a background character only]) and 2012 (S5E15-17). The 1987 ones (S3E32/34) aren't as good, but you do get to watch Mikey slap Usagi in the face with a pizza. Fucking LMAO. All the TMNT is on Paramount Plus, but far be it from me to tell you not to hoist the colors, matey.
The Amazing World of Gumball... exists! It sure does. I really like the way they play with animation and art style, and it has some honestly amazing physical comedy, but it's very, um... 2012. I think it popularized a lot of tropes you see in more modern cartoons that make them borderline unbearable, but I found myself watching the entire thing and kind of wanting more! It's pretty good if you just want some batshit insane cartoon nonsense, but it has no story to speak of, really. The episodes are both startlingly interconnected and purely standalone. Anais is my favorite character, followed by Nicole, and honestly the men in that family are trash lmao. I think I watched it on Hulu, but it might have been HBO Max.
I like Star Wars, too, specifically Visions, Clone Wars (both 2003 and 2007), and, though I haven't finished it, Rebels. (I like the movies, too! Real shame they never made any past Episode VII. Had so much potential. Smh my head.) Visions S1E8 is my favorite thing Star Wars has ever done btw. Very Heavily Biased. All of this is on Disney Plus.
I have of course seen Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Legend of Korra, and recommend Avatar if by some miracle you haven't seen it, but tbh I don't know if I would recommend Korra. It has very interesting concepts, but the execution is um. Bad. Watching the Straights™️ frothing at the mouth over Korrasami was an Experience! "we poppin' the biggest bottles when Makorra happens tonight" is a regular part lo my vocabulary. Both are on Netflix, I think.
I like Teen Titans! I used to have the first two seasons on DVD. There are a lot of jokes I didn't get as a kid, and so rewatching it as an adult was interesting. I also didn't appreciate Cyborg enough as a kid, man has the best jokes. Robin was always my favorite, but on rewatch, I really can't say who's my favorite. I like Beast Boy's power the best, but Raven is p cool, and Starfire is wonderful, and Cyborg is funny. This is available on The Max Formerly Known as HBO.
I also watched all of the original animated Batman. Batman: The Animated Series, I think it was called? I really really liked that one, it was the perfect mix of edgy and funny, and is my favorite Batman iteration. Mark Hamill Joker also! That interpretation of Two-Face is my favorite, and made him my favorite Batman villain. I still want a silver dollar btw! I already have a $2 bill and several dollar coins, so if I get one of those and a half-dollar, I'll have one of every kind of defunct American currency. I think. I believe this is also available on The Max.
If you count anime as cartoons, Bleach and Fairy Tail are good, if you skip the filler. My Hero is... Pretty good. Mirko is of course my favorite character, and I am now only invested in the show for her sake. Crunchyroll is kinda the go-to for anime, but Hulu also has all three of these. I think Bleach might not be on Crunchyroll anymore also? Very Odd if so because it's one of the Big Ones, but I couldn't find it when I looked last.
Little Witch Academia is adorable! Lesbians abound, and features a surprising amount from actual Celtic lore. It's also quite possible the only anime featuring high school girls that doesn't make any blatant attempt to sexualize them, which is a breath of fresh air. The official anime is a Netflix original, but there apparently exists an OVA that I have not seen, and a movie, that I have, also on Netflix.
Castlevania is extremely good, but I guess it's technically an anime? It's originally in English and has some of the best lines I have ever heard come out of someone's mouth, ever, but it is heavily gorey, and S2 has some Unfortunate Rather Graphic Heterosexuality. Fortunately, one of the characters is confirmed bisexual! It is also a Netflix original.
This was a doozy to answer! I don't watch too many cartoons, per se, because I wasn't allowed watch most of them growing up. Never seen Spongebob, Powerpuff Girls, Phineas and Pherb, etc. etc. Despite that, I am a fan of animated shows over live-action shows, generally speaking, due to the liberties one can take, and the fact that you aren't limited by what you can achieve with human actors and such. The same goes for video games— I prefer heavy style to realism, though the GameCube/PS2 era games had the best of both worlds.
#ask#thank you Mr. Tehmhachi! i am planning to work on the essay presently.#sorry if the anime answer is a bit of a cop-out btw! ik generally speaking anime and cartoons are separate categories of animation#you may notice a Theme to these answers. most are very sword-and-sorcery (which is my favorite Genre of Thing)#i very heavily tend toward consuming that kind of media over like. the eight millionth Gun Media#i make an exception for some things but swords-and-sorcery is my bread and butter. see what i did there? bc the three-word combo? v clever#now to tag responsibly!#samurai rabbit: the usagi chronicles#tmnt#rise of the tmnt#the amazing world of gumball#star wars#star wars the clone wars#star wars rebels#star wars visions#avatar the last airbender#legend of korra#teen titans#batman the animated series#bleach#fairy tail#my hero academia#little witch academia#castlevania anime
