Mun, what are your top 5 comfort movies/shows?

// omg!! well i don't really watch a whole lot of either, my time spent watching something are usually let's plays. my biggest source of comfort currently are markiplier ( because i just really vibe with his humor ) and game grumps. there's a lot of their playthroughs that i rewatch almost religiously ( especially pkmn firered from game grumps or the new minecraft playlist from mark ). other than that i generally gravitate towards people with calm, soothing voices to just put on as a background noise or potentially fall asleep to ( baertaffy or northernlion. from them i especially enjoy the roguelikes like darkest dungeon or the binding of isaac because there's not a whole lot of plot to miss if i space out or fall asleep ). the nice thing about rewatching stuff i've already seen is that i can fall asleep during it guilt-free and not worry like i missed something. i also really enjoy matpat because his enthusiasm and energy can be infectuous, so he's fun to watch. plus i love ( and hate ) his constant pauses in gameplay to analyze thE LORE.

but you know? something that really sticks out to me as a core memory™ would be the live action asterix & obelix movies, especially the first two. i'd watch them back to back for days.

I’m so so so so so so so glad to find people who have the same concerns as I do when it comes to the whole MLU(Markiplier Lore Universe)! I read your pinned post, and I have a few ideas and questions to throw at you if you���ll let me! Okay, so, one, Are we still dealing with Lunxian? I honestly suspect we are, because of the recent clips of lixian at that shady entrance “Iplier Corp.” Two, I’ve always wondered why this hadn’t caught the attention of MatPat? Idk if that’s insulting, but he’s already done two other Markiplier or Markiplier related theories, so why not a continuation of the one he did on the MLU? Maybe Actor convinced him not to? It’s weird…anyway! Three; Do you think that the lights Mark has in the background of his videos gives a hint of which ‘Mark’ we’re dealing with? I’ve always suspected that, because when those lights are certain colors, ‘Mark’ acts accordingly. Example: His shut in video. When he played the game shut it, the lights in the back were all red. And frankly they have been for most of his recent uploads. While he’s playing shut in, he’s acting much more exaggerated, but like a subtle exaggeration??? It’s hard to explain. It miiight be a bit of a stretch though. Undoubtedly, I suspect that Darkiplier is going to make a bolder return soon, given all that weird stuff that Mark uploaded while he was in Canada. It was like seeing actor lose his MIND. All attention was not on him, and he was stuck alone. All the time. Or maybe it was dark in some way? I highly doubt that, because most of the videos, whether it be thumbnail or actual footage, were in RED. The notorious color of ACTOR, not Dark. So, what do you think? This is all I have, especially the short ‘theory’ about the lights in the background. Sorry for word dumping here, I got really excited finding this page! WOW! This is one of the most comprehensive responses we’ve gotten to our work. We appreciate your thanks and response so much! After some thinking time, the members of our team are here to answer your questions. (We love a good idea dump 😉)

First regarding Lunxian…we definitely think he IS there, but not in the way he was prior (the arcane energy that made him up possessing Lixian). From the looks of the glitching and such, it seems like Lunky basically is costumed and disguised as Lixian (in the 3SG vids, at least). Lixian seems to DEFINITELY have been trapped within Plier Corporation due to images and the audio from the latest 3SG, which you can find in our post here.

Second question…well, we wish we knew. We’ve given slight pushes to try and garner his attention, but sometimes things just aren’t in the cards. One thing that would REALLY support us is watching and sharing our theory video linked here! This is the definitive theory but brought up quite a bit to the present (minus the Plier Corporation) and snazzes it out a lot.

3, according to our sources, we’re not quite sure about Mark’s Canada vids being canon (canadon?), but for other normal videos, we ABSOLUTELY think so. The lights seem to have indicated that for a while for 3SG. In fact, one of our team members has made a comprehensive list of the lighting cues and background lights from all of the scary games, if you’d like to take an even DEEPER dive. And Dark…Dark COULD be coming around. If this Plier Corp business gets amped up more, who knows?

Part 4 of my messing with moodboards; YouTubers as animals.

While did think of maybe going with a monkey for MatPat I decided in the end to do what I did with Mark & just use his pet. (I limited myself with only doing this with 2 youtubers since they all have either a dog or a cat & I wanted them to all be different). Yes that’s Skip (CatPat).

Mad’s a racoon solely because of the little hands. (I did think of a bear because of FnaF but I kind of wanted all the animals to be roughly the same size so that was out. Same with my other idea of lab rat).

A Heist With Markiplier Theory: every video on Mark’s Channel or at least WKM, AHWM and ADWM is set in a different parallel universe:

Spoilers for WKM, ADWM and AHWM. (Also it’s a little messy and all over the place so sorry in advance):

Okay, so I’ve been watching AHWM all of yesterday afternoon and spent all night last night compiling a theory and finding evidence for said theory . This might be the most obvious theory and I might come up with another theory as well (seriously, my WKM theory was like 17 pages long by the end of it so I didn’t post it so I pay attention to details) but, the theory is, all of Mark’s videos are part of a Multiverse and that there are multiple versions of Mark, and this split in universe was caused by what happened in Who Killed Markiplier and is somehow linked to the artefact you stole in the heist (but I haven’t really figured out that part yet so if anyone has any suggestions id appreciate and be grateful for the help 😊):

Evidence:

In the ‘scientist’ path, it is discovered that time is different, something has happened to time, and the possible futures, and pasts, and parallel universes are colliding (which honestly reminded me of Doctor Who series 4 😂) which also links into WKM and Wilford Motherloving Warfstache with the whole things not being quite what they seem and the cause of that is seemingly you.

The ending to the scientist ‘for the greater good’ path it is discovered that you aren’t the source of the shift in parallel universes but the box is. It gets destroyed, and you get sent back to your original timeline to before the heist was even committed with a nicer Mark than the one we had during the heist (but he clearly wasn’t too bad since, he was clearly upset if you tell him the truth of your zombie encounter and that you’ve been bitten by zombie Tyler)

Now what completely took me off guard, was this Mark then turns to you and says ‘now, how about we go on that date?’ Which was clearly a reference to ADWM, therefore placing the events of AHWM before ADWM if you want a timeline. and this is what set my theory off.

Also, just on a different note, as we are talking of timelines and different Marks, literally just before I got that ending, I found ending number 31, the last ending, the one with the link to WKM. And you of course have a chat with our friend, Darkiplier, who we know is Damien after the events of well, ‘Damien’ (sporting a white suit, instead of his dark suit) and he mentions something about different faces of Mark but being the same man and he advised you not to trust Mark. So he clearly knows something is going on especially through the text messages you get sent:

He also questions our ability to remember whether we have met dark before. Canonically, the last time we saw Dark (or Damien and Celine at that point) was when we were in Markiplier Manor. If we are from alternate timelines and they are merging together, that means that we likely wouldn’t remember WKM because that potentially was not our original timeline. (IDK what this point is really).

Wilford also makes an appearance and gets shouted at by Katherine again for almost shooting us 😂 (call back to Markiplier TV) after we are transported to the ‘timeline’ involving an Interview with Markiplier (callback to the video where Warfstache interviews Mark) however he knows about the Artefact, so either we steal it in that timeline or Warstache can jump through timelines and knows we did it through that, which is feasible and likely because of his abilities in MLW and WKM.

Anyway back to more concrete evidence. It would explain why we don’t see Benjamin, The Chef or Abe but we have endings with Dark and Wilford and get characters played by the actors (Mick playing Warden Murder-Slaughter, Robert playing multiple characters but mainly the police guard who’s actually nice but also scary like the chief in WKM and Tyler is a zombie in the zombie outbreak ‘timeline’) and they actually have some characteristics of their characters in WKM but are different people. (Warden Murder Slaughter has Abe’s tendency to say things that can also mean something inappropriate, or strict temper/can’t trust anyone mentality and the police guard is obviously scary like all of Roberts previous characters but is actually quite nice like the chef in WKM).

Also, just a theory inside a theory, it was stated in another ending (the ending where you don’t split up when Mark is dangling from the hole and you fall and he uses the parallel timeline watch thing to escape) there is a ‘timeline’ where AHWM is a movie or TV show (just like ADWM) as we get a glimpse of actor Mark again although not as dramatic as ADWM but it is definitely him which (most likely) makes that parallel timeline we landed in the WKM timeline. Which also might explain how Dark knows those events happen because of Damien being friends with Mark (and probably watched his films) and he must have figured out from Damien’s memory that there had to be a parallel universe where all this is true.

Also, there are numerous mentions of parallel timelines in different routes to the scientist endings (most noticibly the route were you don’t let go of Mark in the cult ending and you end up falling down a hole).

So where am I going with this?

There are at least 4 main actual Marks in the MCU (Markiplier Cinematic Universe hehe, Thanks MatPat for that name, he was brilliant in the video and actually creeped me out a little 😂). And I propose that they are:

Actor/Asshole Mark

AHWM Mark

ADWM Mark

Markiplier

And so each of those videos each exist in their own parallel timeline or universe. But have the same Y/N because time is being weird. But what caused this, or at least where it all started was is the House in WKM in 1920s/30s (according to Tyler’s Benjamin The Butler Stream on Twitch, which also could be explained how they exist in the modern day, time and the state of reality is a mess), maybe Actor Mark used the artefact to help him with the ritual to enable his plan in WKM.

Also, just briefly jumping back to Dark. He fits in this theory. Because, through the fact that he hates Mark and he obviously thinks that Mark is the same in each timeline or body he’s in. So he’s going from each timeline to stop Mark/take over his channel. Also just bringing in ‘Damien’ here, but actor Mark made Damien the villain of the story, and Damien willingly gave into this and he knows what Mark is really like. The reason why I’m bringing all this up is because I think, Dark is just one person, there is one dark and one Wilford, unlike Mick and Robert’s characters (see evidence above) and is travelling through parallel timelines to stop each Mark and trying to save the viewer from him but because this is Mark’s ‘story’ he is the villain.

Anyway that’s my really messy theory that doesn’t make too much sense when writing it down (I’m terrible at explaining things and making sense when I write stuff down) but I hope people liked the theory! And it’s just a theory....and I’m probably wrong 😂... also is it just me that wants MatPat to do a theory on AHWM now... I mean, he was in it after all.

And now I’m going to focus on the fact that JJ might be making a return in Jack’s video tonight as it is his birthday (also, perhaps Anti as well... it is Halloween after all so anything can happen) being part of both Jack and Mark’s community really is tough at this time of year, where we are constantly being set on fire 😂😂

Theory- There is no Darkiplier

Bare with me.

If you’ve ever watched one of Markipler’s videos, you know that he takes no shit from nobody. Mark can be very sarcastic, very blunt, and can express his honesty in almost abstractly satirical ways. This shows particularly when he is talking about his characters (think about Darkiplier Vs. Antisepticeye, a satirical commentary on a fandom’s influence on characters and ‘giving the people what they want’- more on that later). Mark is very protective of his more in-depth and popularized characters (Darkiplier and Wilford Warfstache, for example), and that is completely understandable. Now, recently, people have been suspecting that Darkiplier will return. This all started when Game Theory released a video discussing the lore about Who Killed Markiplier and the general universe of which it takes place. Matpat brought up the idea that Markiplier could become ‘actor Mark (from the Who Killed Markiplier universe)’ in his videos, citing this vlog as suspicious because ‘Markiplier would NEVER talk like that!’ during that segment, Matpat essentially said that the Mark in that video could never be the actual Mark because he was acting ‘off’. There are a few issues with this theory. For one, it is making assumptions as to what ‘is’ and ‘isn’t’ Mark. Keep in mind, none of us will ever truly know Markiplier as well as Markiplier. Not Amy, not us, not Matpat, not anyone. But, since the beginning, Mark’s ‘v-logs’ were used to bridge the gap between viewer and creator. In the vlog Mat used as an example, Mark was talking about how he wanted to be more honest with us- it was literally in the title. But Game theory chalked his behavior up as ‘douchey’ and therefore fake... in the video where he was trying to be his real self. Whether what Mark said in that vlog was douchey or not, it put a bad taste in my mouth for Mat to assume that it couldn’t possibly still be the ‘real Mark’. And, if you remember from Mark’s twitch stream from when he was signing laminates, he doesn’t like people to assume things of him (I don’t have a source right now, but basically he ranted about people saying he ‘looked sick/tired’, saying it was disrespectful). I’m not saying that he was offended by this, but there is certainly reason for him to be offended, and his response to the video didn’t look too happy. (Well, I shouldn’t say that from this source, but in the community tab of his Youtube channel he just said ‘.’. Again, not substantial evidence that he was offended, but I thought it was important to include). Mark is a person, he’s allowed to act differently without us jumping to conclusions. And that leads into my other problem with Mat’s theory: It takes the control away from Mark. Under this theory, because we don’t know every aspect of Mark’s personality, we could assume that anything Mark does is fake. He can’t even deny this theory without people saying that it was only character Mark covering his tracks. That’s just not fair, especially considering that this is his story and these are his characters. So, what can he do other than give the people what they want? In Darkiplier vs Antisepticeye, Mark and Sean show us why their most iconic characters can never interact. Ever since both Darkiplier and Antisepticeye were introduced, people speculated that they would eventually fight or otherwise go face to face. The Antisepticeye PAX video was only fuel to the fire, despite Sean debunking claims that Anti would butt heads with Dark. As the speculation turned into demands, with both Dark and Anti becoming more and more prevalent on Youtube, Antisepticeye Vs Darkiplier was released. This video did what Mark is doing now: Giving people what they want, while showing that it could never happen. Matpat’s theory unintentionally put Mark in a spot where he knew people were watching him, and, no matter what he did, they would think that he was lying/plotting. So, he decided to give the people what they want. 3 Scary Games #9, posted 3 days after Mat’s theory, was when the hints at a Darkiplier reveal became suddenly more frequent and more dramatic. Because I don’t want to assume anything outright from this video, which is what caused this problem in the first place, I invite you to watch this video for yourself. All I’ll say is that I personally thought that the glitches were less subtle/meaningful than his past references to Dark have been. Also, they were completely different from things like Go Back To Sleep, which have been shown to be hints about Darkiplier. It feels like the easter eggs in this video are going a completely different direction from where Go Back To Sleep left off. The next video I want to talk about is the one he posted today. This is where I am going to apply my theory, to see if it can help to explain the video. What stuck out to me (and I’m sure other viewers) the most about this video was the thumbnail. It is a picture of a woman with “DARKIPLIER!?” written below it, with arrows connecting the woman to the name and vice versa. But, obviously, the two things don’t connect at all. Surely that woman isn’t Darkiplier, and if she is, then what is that supposed to mean? And, if you watch the video, you can clearly see that there IS no Darkiplier. If anything, the most exciting thing about the video is that he gets frustrated with the games, runs into a few errors, and looks back on his other playthroughs. But, looking through the comments section (I am not meaning to attack or criticize these people in any way, and I am keeping them anonymous. I am only trying to point out the overall message of these comments): “Roasting ‘Old Markiplier’ huh? So I guess... It has begun“ “This was unusual. I assume it's part of the greater meta narrative, but I did not enjoy this version of Mark. It was almost hard to watch.  He was so negative and harsh, especially side by side with his older persona.“ “...its not mark...listen to how he talks about himself. The drastic change in his personality. This isnt mark....its Damian... there is more proof but no time look for me I will try to explain more“ “It’s all coming together now...“ ...or is it? Now, it is okay to be creative. It’s okay to speculate! But even in a video that lacked the past hints of the others, and didn’t even mention Darkiplier other than the thumbnail, people are assuming that this is not the real Mark. Why? Because he’s criticizing his past self, which he has always done. And, in my opinion, this is all due to Matpat’s theory. Before that video, everyone thought that Markiplier was just being himself (as far as I know). Now, people are just saying he’s a giant douchebag and ‘not himself’. Imagine him making a video, being himself, and reading those comments. So, there you have it. Though its fun to make theories, we need to think about what evidence those theories are based off of, and how comments like the ones above- our assumptions- could make Mark feel. Mark is a person. Sometimes he gets angry, sometimes he can be a douchebag, but that doesnt make him any less Mark. Finally, I’m not trying to assume things about Mark, I’m just trying to make sense of this whole situation. If Mark truly is just having fun with Darkiplier, that’s fine! And again, i’m not trying to make anyone feel bad about their theories, I’m just sharing my view on Mat’s theory in particular. (I didn’t talk about the other things he’s done like mention Celine/Darkiplier and forget to do his intro because I thought it would only make this post longer. although i do believe the frisk part, a lot of people refused to refer to frisk with ‘they’ pronouns (markiplier and matpat being some) and even made “how dare you assume my gender jokes” so i wouldnt be surprised
