Hey... what if the downside to "X can do everything" is that he can only do "everything" his believers want him to. He's such an enigma that we're literally just shooting in the dark BUT what we do know is that he definitely wants freedom (considering INERTIA was confirmed to be from his POV and that the lyrics matter a lot)

I think it's very safe to assume that the greater the number of followers, the greater the pressure a hero will be at the mercy of. So with that, the idea of being basically controlled by the masses because you're No. 1 is pretty terrifying, and it really makes me ruminate on the "You’ve got to believe that I am free" line. Honestly, I question the extent of his free will, because even though he isn't bound by contract, isn't bound by a company (at least as a hero.. *cough*) he has to be bound by the beliefs of the people more than everyone else. And you know... maybe, just maybe, that's exactly why he'd want to "kill this destiny" even at the cost of using less than heroic sources of power.

Plus on a similar note, assuming his mission being to attain freedom as a hero is at least somewhat close to the truth, it'd definitely have to be something that extends beyond him and to every other hero who has to suffer because of the circumstances of their powers, and the circumstances of them being corporate slaves with powers and pizzazz. Since from the lyrics we should also be able to discern that wanting to make a difference *is* his purpose (as a hero.)

(Also yall remember Zero.. the guy Mr. X glitches into in the OP who appeared in one of E-Soul's PVs with cult imagery. Who presumably got completely disfigured into That Thing because of them in the first place, against his own will. Who a lot of us theorise to be the previous No. 1 before our X. Yeah so once again assuming the guesses are at least semi correct, in their place I think most of us would also 1. shit their pants and 2. want to break free at any cost bc HAHA. You know... the most powerful hero of humanity is also the biggest threat to humanity~~)

Is is just me? Or is Hero X truly as powerful as the fandom make it out to be?

Okay, hear me out! I know it's a hot take. But there's so many theories of what Hero X's ability actually is; from time traveling, space bending, warping reality, 4th wall breaking, omniscience, omnipotency. All of them being absolute OP abilities that makes your eyes cross.

And while all those theories are valid, I began to wonder... is Hero X actually that much powerful... or are we led to believe that with the little information we have?

Think about it. We know him as the No. 1 hero, right? So by that admission, we automatically ended up coming up OP ability that would make sense for him to be at the top. But aren't we just assuming he is OP?

He's powerful, yes. The 6 minutes trailer has greatly established that. And his PV also hinted his follower to believe his omnipotent.

But that's a simple bias words from one person. What's to say that her words are misdirection. Like a magician who talks to the audience, planting ideas and preconception to make you believe in one thing instead of the other.

That we, the audience, are meant to both question and believe in the power of the enigmatic Hero X.

Just like how Nice was perceived to be the "perfect hero", but in reality he wasn't really perfect, wasn't he?

And let's just... let it sink in that what we, as a fandom, are collectively are doing is exactly what the citizens in the donghua must be feeling. Trying to rationalize and understanding his power from what they witnessed. Trying to understand who he is as a person, his values, and his ideals.

Like, the creative team is soooo cool to give Hero X as much info as the average people in the donghua. Helping us be more immersive in the world while hooking us with bait in every turn.

After all, the first two episodes is already a direct allegory for the toxic idol business. And accidentally or not, I'm sure there are audience of To Be Hero X who have been guilty of participating such culture, so of course it's reasonable to make the fandom understand why people would follow and trust in Hero X despite his enigmatic status.

We know only half a page about his character, and already he is amassing his fans.

i'll say upfront: this is a pretty serious thing to happen. our chancellor fired our minister of finance, Lindner, which definitively breaks up the governing coalition. germany will likely have snap elections at a moment in which far-right parties are polling extremely well. if news coverage about it seems like people are Worried, that's because, well, they are.

however. the reason it's funny is because our minister of finance was fired. ministers aren't really... ever fired. like, it's not a done thing. i'll fully admit i didn't even know it was an option until yesterday. and our minister of finance wasn't just anyone, he was one of the most mocked and hated figures in politics to germans who vote anywhere left of center.

the coalition that governed until yesterday was made up of the green party, the social democrats, and the neoliberal party (FDP). the FDP is infamous (and i mean, my parents already raised me to hate them for that) for playing kingmaker in coalition governments: they never get all that many votes, but they get just enough that whoever they agree to form a government with will probably succeed. they then tend to force extreme concessions from their coalition partners, because hey, if we walk off, you can't govern at all! so you better play along!

for the past three years, this behaviour has been extremely frustrating for germans who voted for greens or social democrats, because policy from their faction was constantly being blocked by the FDP and often by Lindner personally. the FDP received 11,5% of votes in 2021, but to many of us, it felt as if they were the only party who really had any say in the governing coalition. it made the green and social democratic coalition partners look spineless and passive.

and now, i invite you to imagine how on the day of the US election results, the day the whole world rolled their eyes at the sheer fucking stupidity and pointlessness of it all, at NINE IN THE EVENING, just as germans are getting ready to settle in to bed to dream of nightmare global politics -

the news suddenly breaks that our notoriously invisible chancellor just decided to fire Lindner for that exact behaviour. this chancellor comes out and says, on camera, to the entire sleepy nation, that acting the way Lindner did - blocking necessary policies, refusing to approve budgets unless his party's interests were met - was childish, selfish, irresponsible, and unfit for government, so, whoops, he had to go. shame. coalition over, i guess.

so, politically, that was a long-needed but never-expected moment of triumph for those of us who think the FDP is a clown show made up of human TESLA shares, and it came at a hysterically funny moment.

on a personal level, i can barely explain how uniquely hateable Lindner has always been. he's what would happen if a stock index graph came to life. he hates poor people with a relish; he mocks welfare recipients and would ax minimum wages in a second. he's everyone's business major roommate who shows up in boat shoes fresh off a yacht to discuss NFTs with you. throughout the entire time that he's used his rich boy policy blackmail strategy, he's been smug about it, and he was never taken to task for it, and millions of germans have been longing to throw rotten fruit in his face since 2017. and now we finally get to do it. via memes. on the day of trump's election win.

so that's why it's funny.

Anyway if you guys get pissy at Jason for being a drug dealer in utrh, I know you have no genuine working knowledge of addiction and I think you should die and I am not joking.

People die from quitting cold turkey. Lots of addicts are self medicating because the healthcare system has failed them. Stopping the drug trade completely would be not only completely ineffectual (Jason's entire philosophy is that crime can't be ended only controlled and he is completely right) but it would also cause so many more problems than it would fix. Especially because in a place like Gotham there is little to no support for these people, except maybe Leslie's clinic, which is already understaffed and overfilled and is still only a hospital. It's not a rehab, and it's not a pharmacy. They can't give you prescriptions for free, especially painkillers, stimulants, and antidepressants.

Please take 10 seconds to actually think about the issues you're talking about before you post an incorrect quotes or "gotcha!" Where you say that Jason actually doesn't care about his community and is just as bad as Black Mask or whatever because *checks notes* he's realistic about crime reduction.

toysofdukeness deleted their cc/wiped their patreon and i just wanted to say, the impact that early access content has set for the sims (particularly sims 4) community has once again showed how much of a disappointment it is altogether. whether it's trackers in downloads, doxing people, broken/uninspired sets and now stealing other people's free content... to the point where we drive a member who has been here for a very long time... something's eventually got to give but it's exhausting seeing the lack of accountability of these creators time and time again. please don't give these people your money. it's unfortunate that we have to call them out on their bs. however it's incredibly clear that a lot of ea creators have no integrity and will truly do anything to make a quick buck
