Speed work. Mileage not accurate.

It was a short & hard speed workout- 1 min run, 30 off.... reducing to 30 sec run /45 sec rest.

Topped out at 8.2 mph.

summary: devyn takes both aurora and zhao to the border for a little holiday before the winter falls and her adler general has to go back home; drunk zhao talks of ancient histories and raises questions to aurora

Despite the bright sunlights that made the lake shine so beautifully, the weather was still chilly and the earth frozen with hoar-frost but it didn’t stopped Devyn and Aurora to go out for a walk that morning. They were both dressed warmly and stayed glued to each other, their cheeks, nose and lips were flushed from the low temperature — cold air from the north was bringing snow soon and they hoped to get to see it before they had to go back to their separate homes.

“Is it true what Zhao said?”

“Zhao said a lot of things last night, can you be more specific Aurora?”

Aurora bit her lip and placed her head on Devyn’s shoulder as they kept walking, lowering their pace. “About the Kangs making the Sakamakis kings.”

Devyn let out a small chuckle and shook her head, “He is more pressed about my father and I not wearing a crown than we are.”

“So it is true!” exclaimed the brunette as she stopped walking, raising her head from Devyn’s shoulder in the process.

“So say our records. My family always supported Karl’s.” whispered Devyn, facing Aurora and raising her hand to caress her cold cheek. “There’s this one paragraph in my 7th great grandfather’s diary — he was the one that made ‘the deal’, it says ‘There’s something about this man, he burns bright like the sun. Burn me bright like the sun and they….’ the other lords I assume, ‘…want to put out that light. I’ll be damned if I let them do it.’”

Aurora tilted her head as she listened to Devyn, “Are you sure your 7th great oldman wasn’t in love with his 7th great oldman?”

“That’s what I was thinking. It’s the reason his words stuck to in my mind.” she said and looked at the lake, taking in view, “While the power was shared quite even between them, but it was Karlheinz’s ancestor who was the lead man in the public’s eyes while mine was the hand. It remained a tradition for the Kangs to keep the Sakamakis in the light while we reside in the shadows.”

“His family is really a plague to yours, from the first to the last. A bunch of cunts.”finally said Aurora, joining Devyn in admiring the lake, “I have to agree with Zhao on that one, I’d rather see you as queen than him.”

“Aurora…” replied Devyn, sighing at her insults towards the royal family. “Zhao speaks of treason as if he speaks of the weather, especially when he’s drunk. Besides, I’d be crown princess now and my father would be the king so you’d still have to wait till I’d be queen.”

Aurora smiled to her answer and linked her elbow with hers again, resuming her stroll. “Still a win for me.”

Devyn smiled at her as well, keeping her close to her as they walked, “Also, Zhao is wrong again. Father is the first Kang to make a Sakamaki a king.”

“I say you break this tradition and appoint yourself queen.”

“I am not letting Zhao and you in the same room ever again.”

Aurora laughed and continued on her daydreaming, “I say you get a new crown, bigger and prettier! Oh and we should think of a title— you and lord Dong Hwa stretched this kingdom so much it’s almost an Empire so you should be empress! Empress Devyn has a nice ring to it…”

That panel with Alphys protecting Frisk is a moment I've looked forward to drawing for a very long time! Her having electricity magic isn't entirely headcanon--she uses it to block one of Flowey's attacks when he captures everyone--but it's something I don't see used nearly often enough and it was fun to bring in :>

I think a lot about Leo’s tendency to push his way into the spotlight despite clearly being a natural in the shadows. Hell, you could argue that his worst moments are when he’s forcing himself onstage, and his best are when he does things no one notices until it’s already been done.
