more normal spinel fans: what if she's still heartbroken about pink diamond abandoning her and has breakdowns about it isn't that so sad

me: what if she's so insecure about her duty of being a best friend that in her efforts to prove she wasn't a fuckup she learns the painful way that she even never knew the first thing about her friend to begin with

she can't name anything pink was interested in or what she liked to do outside of the games spinel played with her

cause spinel never really got to know her (because she was made explicitly as a toy that pink couldn't break and was made by the diamonds who do not know how friendships work (a friend isn't something you create it's a relationship that you develop overtime) except she's also super sheltered and struggles to relate to people outside of the fun and games she's supposed to be facilitating)

and pink never really spent the time to know spinel either (because she was obsessively nonconfrontational and didn't yet see gems below her as capable of being fully realized people, and this was immediately after losing her real friend and she had her walls up pretty high as a result anyways)

mmm the pain of being such a terrible friend that not only were you made to replace a pearl to begin with, your friend had to replace you with another pearl, of all gems

and she was right to, you think, angrily, bitterly

what if she feels an unreal level of guilt about having a near world destroying meltdown and how she tried to kill a kid directly even tho she knew she was never in the right for it. that self destruction forever ruining her chances of becoming friends with the one person kind enough to reach his hand out to you (even tho he really shouldn't have)

do you think that would fuck up all her future encounters beyond a level where she can handle it, do you think in her desperation to be the good friend she needs to be she might repeat her mistakes all over again?

Spinel x Sweetheart!Reader | drabble

Summary - Spinel gets home after the events of E64 to see you waiting for him,

The sound of a door being unlocked paired with a weight leaving your lap made you look towards the now-open door where a familiar teal haired man stands with his trusty Umbreon.

Pushing yourself, alongside any sleep still in your system, off the couch you walk towards the man. Gently cupping his cheeks as he took off his shoes, he offers you a gentle smile as you brush the stray snowflakes off his face.

"Spinel, is everything okay love,?" You ask, to which he responds with a nod, placing a hand over one of yours before closing his eyes to soak up the affection.

Spinel loves how inoccent and naïve you are, how you've always hung around him, even when you found out about his true nature and how unstable he can be, you still stuck around.

It always baffled the other Explorers, but hey, you are dating him, and not anyone else, so he isn't complaining.

"Spinel,?" You call out to which he responds with a nod. At this point, it didn't matter what the original question was, all that matters is that you are here, with him. Safe.

"Yes dear,?" He awnsers with a chuckle as he opens his eyes to meet your gentle gaze.

"Is everything okay,?" Your voice is full of concern as you repeat your words, tracing your thumb along his cheekbone.

Spinel nods again before removing your hand from his cheek and holds it gently before bringing you in for a gentle kiss.

A/N: Ngl I think that I should've done HCs..... might do some HCs of Sweetheart!Reader in the future ngl becuase this is just fluff() but tbf, Spinel looks like the type of guy who'd be really nice to his partner and his partner only, (lmk if I wrote Spinel wrong though).

idk I was kinda thinking of trying the new pokemon anime but seeing u get so creepily obssessed with the explores these past weeks has kind of killed my interest in watching it tbh. I was hoping that after working urself into a frenzy every single week because you thought a side character villian would show up ud get a clue about how weird this was making u but I guess not. But yea I saw how creepy people got about the first anime, not doing that again, no thanks lmao

By watching the newest episode I noticed that Terapagos when confronted with the explorers didn't have that panic/anger reaction it had with Amethio.

That makes me even more convinced that Amethio is indeed special, Terapagos already knew those villains nevertheless didn't feel too threatened by them or at least not threatened enough to challenge them personally like it did with Amethio... curious, I'm waiting for the next episode to air to see how that will turn out.

(I want to point out that Raykuaza as well didn't focus its attention on anyone in particular like it did with Amethio).

I definitely agree, I hate that creep Spinel. He wiped Liko's memory that one time when he stole her pendant, which was terrifying. She could've been in serious danger if she hadn't been found and/or if she hadn't gotten her memories back... I'm just so glad we found her quickly, that could've ended horribly...

Then on top of all that, he put out false intel online making us believe she was somewhere else and causing her to stay lost and in danger for longer.

I'm fairly sure he's behind all the other cases of fake intel we've come across too, although I don't have any actual proof..

Then there's what happened lately when Liko got separated from me and Roy in the mountains and Liko told us he used the Rakaruim to make his Umbreon go crazy and then trapped her and Amethio in a cave...

There aren't enough words to express how much I despise Spinel. I can't stand him. He's absolutely the worst of all the Explorers.
