no. you don't understand how funny this scene was to me.

these four basically represented how dean winchester was perceived by others. there's the people who love him; charlie (platonic), sam (familial), and cas (romantic). then there's rowena who, at the time, was the stand-in for their "enemies" (hatred).

and they all need to work together to cure dean. i'm unwell 😭😭

I know this episode ends horribly and I hate it every time but imagine how Dean felt when Cas was calling Sam’s phone to check in “like I do” and when Dean asks if somethings on his mind Cas shuts him down. Poor guy was probably like “oh so he likes Sam better than me now?”

Two episodes into my attempt to finish Supernatural and I see the infamous death of Charlie. Guess my instinct to quit was spot on.

Not only was it a dogshit episode overall but wtf was that death? Totally contrived, since maybe it’s just me but why the hell did Charlie go to the hotel??

And they didn’t even show us a cool fight, show Charlie go down swinging? She lost to some one-armed chump with major blood loss??

Hello! This is my first ever fic for Supernatural and I'll be honest, I'm a little nervous. But I've been wanting to write something here for years now, and since I'm currently rewatching the entire show, I decided it's as good of a time as any! Charlie has always been my favorite female SPN character, getting the rank of one of my favorite characters of all time over the years, and her death absolutely wrecked me the first time around. I remember the day Dark Dynasty aired as if it was yesterday. I've also always adored Charlie's relationship with Dean - she loved both brothers but there was something about her bond with Dean that resonated with me more. Plus it was obvious that the writing itself was putting more emphasis on it.

Anyway, I just finished season 10 on my rewatch and decided to whip up this little thing. Hope you enjoy!

okay so i watched s10 e21 and—

i knew what was going to happen, but actually watching it and seeing someone i love and identify with so brutally treated just— it affected me way more than i thought it would. i thought by already knowing what happens and preparing for it would at least lead it to not hit me that badly but i was wrong.

i am angry and horrified and just feeling awful right now because they really did that. for absolutely no reason. sam and dean could've arrived at the motel earlier. cas could've tracked charlie since he literally has his mojo back. charlie could've had a whole fight scene and somehow escaped like she did the last time, literally so many other alternatives could've taken place but no.

charlie was one of the very best people they had on that show, and they barely gave her any screen time but everytime she was in an episode I'd get deliriously excited about it because not only is she a representation of someone like me, but also someone who's full of life and someone who lights up a room in such a vital way that it's visible.

we could've seen charlie and cas's friendship evolve like imagine that duo just imagine. she could've moved into the bunker full-time and that would've been an addition to supernatural's whole "found family" dynamic that they keep promoting and then promptly forgetting. she could've met claire. she could've had a life. maybe she'd just be able to get out of all this and have a life. they should've at least given her that.

and i know that this happened a long time ago and people have already talked about it before but this really isn't something we should stop talking about because it'll never be okay. the way they treated people of color, the way they treated queer people, the way they treated women— it's just atrocious.

i think i need a few days to even process this holy shit. i'm just still so angry and hurt.
