I watched seasons 1-13 between Feb 12 and March 12th

I watched THIRTEEN SEASONS in ONE MONTH

it's been more than a month since, and I haven't finished the last two seasons yet

seasons 12-15 are SO BAD that I can't bring myself to keep watching

it took me three weeks to watch season 14, and I have been stuck on 15x03 for over two weeks now

so, if you were wondering why updates are slow now... well, it's because the show just sucks and I don't wanna watch it

anyways, will delete this reblog from @rewatching-supernatural when I end up watching more, but for the time being, here's an explanation as to why I haven't posted since April 8th 🙄

s15e03

Here we are again! maybe today I'll only watch one episode though, because I'm tired and I had a shitty day so I deserve to not suffer through two bad episodes

It took me one month, less than 30 days, to watch seasons 1-13

I watched 13 seasons

in one month

and it's been a month since then (almost, it'll be a month on the 12th) and I haven't been able to get through the two shortest seasons (if we don't count the author strike of s03)

I'm really glad I stopped watching when I did at the first episode of season 10, because if I had to wait a full week for this? I'd be fucking pissed

Bel? he calls this demon they just met Bel?? and why would Dean text that whole thing out with the entire plan to Ketch? no way. he'd definitely just text like, their location, and tell hin to get their asap and then they'd explain when he got there

Also, I cannot imagine Dean texting full words with proper grammar

this is just so completely wrong

s15e01

There it is, the final season

At first, I didn't want to finish the show, because finishing some media always leaves me with this incredible loss and I grieve and I didn't want to go through that

But the scripts for 15x19 and 15x20 leaked today and interacting with everyone and collectively aknowledging that the ending is absolute trash (I have already seen most of 15x18, 15x19 and 15x20) gives me this feeling that watching season 15 isn't actually watching the end of my beloved show that I grew up with, I'm actually watching ONE possible ending for this story, but it isn't the only one, this is just a reality in which shitty writers (and a shittier network) somehow control the world, and we all know the real ending isn't the one shown on screen

therefore, I am ready to watch this as I won't be emotionally affected

this is poorly written fanfiction, and the truth is out there (in the good supernatural version that lives rent free in my head)

that said, let's start this!

this is my first time watching past season 9, this is genuinely my first time watching seasons 14 and 15

I do know how 15 ends, but that's it

I've seen parts of 15x18 and 15x20, but nothing else

I have no clue where this is going, the fight with Chuck

I'm confused, but not exactly excited

I'm not a fan of how they turned Chuck into such an unloveable character, because I liked him! as Chuck, not as God

I hate God, but I think they did it brilliantly to have him be such a fucking manipulative asshole, because it's the only logical explanation for why a being with his power would let humans suffer: he doesn't give a shit, about anyone or anything

when he gets bored of a world, he moves on and makes a new one, that's it

and that is perfect, because it works, it's believable and it works

but I'm so sad they decided to make God Chuck

at first it was cool, to think like Oh, that's why he knew everything, and also, it made Cas' rebellion even more powerful: he stared God in the eyes and said "fuck you, I'm going to do whatever to save Dean Winchester"

but now, now it's just...

it feels like they ran out of ideas, it's felt this way since season 8, but this is worse

IT MAKES SENSE to have their final fight be against God, but all the nonsense inbetween makes this much less of a big deal than they wanted it to be

they beat the Darkness, they went to other worlds, they werw roommates with a nephilim with the powers to disturb humanity in its whole, God/Chuck just isn't that big a deal anymore

I don't know, in the moment, it felt epic, "The story's over. Welcome to the end."

it's so ominous and final and like, yes, this is actually the end, there is nothing after it, this is it

but it's not exciting

and the final shots of them being attacked by a bunch of undead was just so bad, visually speaking, it looked so wrong for some reason

I don't know, guys

I think s14 had good, even some great episodes

not convinced s15 will have any above "decent"

This is such a brilliant way of showing a character's inner thoughts, having them talk with an imagined character, such as Hallucifer

also sidenote, I fucking hate this scene with the montages and shit, this is just bad and way too long and Mary DEFINITELY wasn't that important to deserve this dramatic music and all
