thinking hard. about last life grian saying about etho “he has no loyalty to you, he’s just immediately teamed up with the next guy that’s come along. if he loved you why didn’t he give you a life" and secret life etho saying about grian “he had to move on with his life, what was he supposed to do, mourn the whole time?" both projecting their own reasonings for ‘abandoning’ certain alliances when they turned south. these two being teamed and staying loyal until the end. can anyone hear me

Hey I’m gonna try to explain an idea I’ve had
It’s about Ted and Peter Spankoffski and the bow ties.
Originally we see him with this dark red one.
Tumblr media
In tgwdlm Ted is still there. Not taken by Tinky yet.
Same with Abstinence Camp in Nightmare Time 2
Tumblr media
Nice red one and Ted is still alive in universe.
However, we don’t see or meet Ted in NPMD. Not really mentioned besides Tinky. Now the LiB are aware of a the timelines so it could have been that. Or it could have been Tinky took Ted already and Pete doesn’t like to talk about his brother who went missing. In NPMD he doesn’t have a red bow tie. It’s green plaid.
Tumblr media
Same with the suspenders I’m noticing. They match. Anyway, while Pete doesn’t where this classic outfit the whole show, he is wearing something different than his other two iterations.
So what if in his grief over losing his brother, Pete wears the green one that Ted got him. I have head canon that Ted bought him his first bow tie because he wanted it and I just think it’s fun. But then sad when Ted goes missing and Pete only wears the bow tie Ted got him.
And then at the end of NPMD at homecoming Pete’s wearing the red bow tie again.
Tumblr media
So it’s not just they didn’t have the red bow tie, right? I can’t put into smart words what it represents. But I feel it means something. I feeeeel it.

"remember who the real enemy is" can we take a moment as a fandom to remember that kronos was the big bad and luke was just a puppet for him
like yes he did bad things but he was literally being manipulated and PUNISHED (canonically, he mentions kronos punished him in tlt) and this started when he was 17 THAT WE KNOW OF it could've started earlier since thalia was meant to be the prophecy child
like luke or not, PLEASE remember kronos is the main antagonist of the first series, luke was just a pawn like the other ta kids
thank you for ur time

ALEX HE'S DEAD
MY MAN but in all honesty we kinda already had this feeling. AS ATTACHED I AM... killcode hubby dead...
But i was almost right with how bloodmoon is reacting. Not satisfied at all.
Killcode absolutely tore through what had to be said about them as hurtful as it was.

Ok my theory post for the ending of fhjy is that aguefort and ayda come back and that despite the high possibility of the rat grinders dying, the daddy-daughter duo fix the time quangle and somehow that reverses the rat grinders death bc time magic and the two groups become friends through (or despite idk what word to use here) the awful manipulation that porter and jace put them through and they work through their differences and ITS FINEEEE
Bc i do think the rat grinders dying is kinda inevitable i do highkey think porter might use them as sacrifices to fuel him but idk. Either way im kinda hoping for like some revivifies or spare the dyings or maybe even reincarnates (thats a bit more tricky imo) bc the rat grinders deserve like. Therapy and rehabilitation and stuff.

Fisher's death is a different kind of tragedy to the rest of the original Hephaestus crew, because it genuinely was just a horrible accident. And I think accepting that isn't an easy thing for Lovelace.
When almost everyone in your crew is dead, it's the opposite of a consolation to realise that the only other survivor is responsible for those deaths. But once you know you have been betrayed, once you understand that there was someone in your crew who was willing to sacrifice all of you for his own ends, once you've accepted that someone you used to trust killed people you loved, wouldn't it make a kind of sense to believe he was responsible for every awful thing that happened? Wouldn't there almost be a perverse comfort in the righteous anger of believing that Fisher died not because Hui's predictions were wrong, nor because Lovelace's attempts to save him failed, but because Selberg's sabotage doomed him from the start? Wouldn't it tie up the narrative of Lovelace's trauma more neatly if all of it was Selberg's fault, if he was pulling the strings for that first devastating loss? (Cont. below cut)
I imagine that Hui had a sense of guilt and responsibility for Fisher's death. After all, Fisher was only out in that meteor shower because "Hui's projections were way off". Blaming Selberg/Hilbert for Fisher's death would allow Lovelace to posthumously absolve Hui of that guilt. Whereas to accept that Fisher's death was an accident is to accept that it was the result of decisions which held absolutely no malice or willingness to harm.
In Ep38 Happy Endings, after Hilbert reveals that he infected Fisher with Decima first, he has this exchange with Lovelace:
HILBERT But intention was never for anyone to die. Not unless unavoidable.  LOVELACE (realizing) But Fisher did die.  HILBERT Tragic accident. One which even your addled mind has to realize was not my responsibility.
The 'realizing' dialogue tag could be interpreted in a few different ways, but I think this is the moment Lovelace realises that Fisher's death - to echo Minkowski's description of Eiffel being stranded in deep space - "wasn't anyone's fault. It's horrible, and pointless, and it just happened." I think that's a different kind of pain, for Lovelace to realise that - despite the malicious forces around the crew - there was no one to blame for that first tragedy.
Fisher was the first of Lovelace's crew to die. Lovelace broke her arm trying unsuccessfully to save him. It was the event that turned the first Hephaestus mission from a series of fairly trivial sources of stress, to something ominous that not everyone would come back from. It would be easy to view it as 'the beginning of the end' of the first Hephaestus mission. The period after Fisher's death was "a very difficult time" (as Lovelace describes it herself in Ep35 Need to Know), to the extent that Lovelace developed an "alarming" "dependence on painkillers" (according to Selberg's medical journal).
And there's something particularly heartbreaking to me about the fact that all of that could have happened on a mission without any of the sinister background that the first Hephaestus mission had.

FINALLY finished the bad batch. after being afraid to for months (which is ironic given, yk, my username and the entire reason my blog was created) so here's my brief angry thoughts before i pass out. if you're going to say "here's hemlock fucking around with dead(ish) soldiers bodies and turning them into his own personal assassins" AND WE HAVE A FORMER MEMBER OF THE SQUAD WHOSE BODY WAS NEVER SEEN BUT HEMLOCK APPARENTLY LOOKED FOR AND AT LEAST FOUND THE GOGGLES FROM. THEN WHY NOT DO SOMETHING WITH THAT. IT WOULDVE BEEN GOOD.

one of my favorite hobbies is in fact making fun of lestat because let’s be honest he does deserve it 99% of the time but then i start rereading tvl and suddenly I’m like….man he really went through so much, huh? he was really traumatized and taken advantage of over and over by both strangers and people he loved….like man he really was stalked, kidnapped, and forcefully made into a vampire against his will….he faced years of abuse from his father and brothers…..he witnessed the death of his only lover and before that his resentment and eventual madness….he really cries every other page and has 10 existential crises before he even becomes a vampire but he wants to be good he wants to be happy he tried to run away to the church he tried to run away with the theatre troupe he just wanted to act and love and be loved and at every turn he was done wrong and hurt and abandoned and nobody ever really helped him and I—

Okay but seriously. I am so caught up on the four pearls plot point.
SPOILERS FOR PJO SHOW AND BOOKS
Are they trying to show Poseidon favors Sally & Percy? That he has compassion? Cuz that’s shown later in the series. We know Poseidon offered Sally godhood and she refused. We know Poseidon cares for Sally and Percy.
But he could never be directly involved. He could never show that favoritism, ESPECIALLY in the lightning thief because Zeus thinks Percy stole the master bolt.
Side note love the theft being pinned on Clarisse.
Back to the PEARLS. Clearly, it’s meant for Percy, Annabeth, Grover, & Sally. The water nymph even tells Percy, “save your mother.”
BUT WE KNOW THAT SALLY CANT LEAVE THE UNDERWORLD. So why the four pearls? Percy doesn’t have to choose between saving anyone or coming back for anyone later. He has enough tools to get all of them out.
Unless he loses one? Uses one as a ball for Cerberus? Why introduce the possibility of a way out only for it to be taken away?? How is he going to lose one of the pearls?
Or is the show going to have Sally freed from the Underworld with the kids? I don’t think so because she’s not on the beach with them and it just would take away so much of the tension. Of Percy choosing to finish the quest over saving his mom, what he really wants to do. What matters most in the end. THE FUCKING PROPHECY. Pjo show writers, you are good and it is FUCKING WITH ME. I know the plot of the entire book and the next ten BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN NEXT.
and that’s what you call a phenomenal adaptation.
