Today's episode of I Have Freewill:
I made a book press so I can start putting sprayed edges on my books and it's absolutely one of the most enjoyable decisions I've ever made, I'm having so much fun :)

can you guess the book based on it’s sprayed edges? 🧐

Bookish Hot Take: Every book doesn't need sprayed edges, and so many books having sprayed edges now ruins the special-ness of it. (And of course, it's likely upping the prices. 😒)

Finally working on my (second) bookbinding of Daemon’s Handbook again. I got an airbrush for Christmas, and it made spraying these book edges way easier.
My favorite part is fanning through the pages to make it go whoooooshhhh.
Many thanks to @dedalvs for all the resources about High Valyrian!

What is your favorite sprayed edge book?
So far, I think A Study in Drowning is my favorite. But I just started collecting them. Can’t wait to see which ones I get in my OwlCrate boxes.

Tried my hand at painted edges! Just doing plain colors right now, will eventually bust out my cricut and do cool designs.

My collection of Jane Austen Penguin Classics editions that I’ve painted! From top to bottom: Mansfield Park, Emma, and Pride & Prejudice 📚
I was mostly inspired by the movie adaptations for these paintings: Mansfield Park 1999, Emma 2020, and Pride and Prejudice 2005

Personally, I put them with the spines out. I can read the title and author then, and when I pull out the pretty edges are a nice treat! Also, often when a book has sprayed edges, the spine and covers are pretty as well.

Rounding out the week with our favorite @rainbowcrate sprayed edges (which is, y'know, all of them that we own 😅)
We've read (and loved) all of the books in the horizontal stack! You can find reviews for Junker Seven & Exposed on Gabe's Storygraph. You can find reviews for Dragon Falls (How to Tame A Husband), AITA?, & Exposed on Meghan's Storygraph. You can find our storygraph links in our pinned post. If you check our book review tag, you can also find some of our reviews right here on Tumblr <3
