The clocks shunted forward, and the new lightness defrosted something like a life in me that had been numb, or absent, or empty ignition clicking. suddenly I could smell warm tarmac as I left the supermarket, could taste that indescribable sweet cut of tomato, could leave the bed without heaving. I felt okay, more plastic, less bored with everything, and small things could be beautiful again

I can't wait for all the pictures I'm going to take this Spring, all the flowers I'm going to smell, all the views I'm going to see for the first time, all the fruit I'm going to eat, all the animals I'm going to meet on my woodland walks, all the sunsets I'm going to be stunned by, all the petals I'm going to press, all the books I'm going to read in the garden, all the flora I'm going to paint in my sketchbook, all the mornings filled with hope and lightness. There's so much look forward to! I want to open my windows and start dancing! ☘️🦋
