grand run tips for each weapon!!
Blaster: you can evaporate crowds of lesser salmonids very quickly, but be careful and back up if something gets too close!! If you’re in a sticky situation, don’t forget you have a bomb and or your special. Triumvirate tip: You can kill bosses pretty quickly too, so try focusing on gathering golden eggs to lob at the big three!
Stringer: You can turf a lot (use this for flipper floppers!) and get rid of crowds quickly, if you get close to a salmon and have all your shots hit them, you WILL do 999.9 damage! Use this to your advantage, also you can kill stingers really quick too!
Triumvirate tip: get close to the kings and use all your arrows on them, personally recommend doing it on joe because for half of the round it’ll be hunkered underground where you cant damage it.
Explosher: You have a lot of range! Use it to your advantage! You can also pierce armor on drizzlers, steelheads, and even pierce the forcefield on a slammin lid.
Triumvirate tip: Pick a god and pray.
Splatana: You may have low range, but when you’re close, you do BIG damage! Even bigger when you charge up the vertical slash, but that takes a while, so make sure the coast is clear before going in to pierce the armor of an annoying steelhead or drizzler that your teammates may have trouble getting rid of.
Triumvirate tip: Use your vertical slash’s big damage to your advantage!!!!! Please!!
Dualies: Your dodge rolls explode, and you have alot of them, if you ever find yourself overwhelmed , just hit the bricks! It’ll get you out of there in a snap, and damage some salmons too, your range is short but gets pretty long after doing a roll!
Triumvirate tip: Try killing boss salmons and grabbing golden eggs to throw at the kings, using your speed to your advantage to get around!
Charger: Squiffer main? I hardly know er! Even in the air, your charge is very fast! You can kill steelheads like any other charger, but dont forget to do two shots instead of one! You can also get through big lines of salmons real quick, but watch your ink and dont get too trigger happy Triumvirate tip: Try and focus on the kings, you have range for a reason!! Get the horroboros’ bombs to explode straight in its face!!!
Roller: You can go real fast, but you know how to use that? You can rush across the map and steamroll anything in your way to get to your goal: a boss! The roller can absolutely decimate alot of bosses by rolling. be careful with your vertical flick, it takes a while to charge up, but is like a kill everything in front of you button, basically. You can kill chinooks (the mothership guys) without using your vertical flick, just wait till they get close to the ground and jump while rolling! Triumvirate tip: go wild man idk
General tip: HAVE FUN!!!

”Oh, you like Taocc? Name every character.”
BET.
edit: I added the vague number of total characters listed. We’re at about 270, and I’m still adding characters.
(*By technicality
**formerly/no longer active/no longer acknowledged by the narrative as existing
***exist as of like ten seconds ago
I will only be including characters recognized as part of Taocc by more than one person. Characters will be vaguely grouped together however the frick I feel like and with only the vague suggestion of transitions. A character must have a tangible role that still has effects at the time of posting to be counted. I’m not counting all the deactivated characters from OG Taocc, for example. I am referencing the updates blog list as well as my following for this, because the challenge is to name them all, not to name them all by memory. Animals barely count sometimes when I feel like it.)

HS with rando's this night and probably PB for Tornado LOL
Munch tips vvv
It's important to keep killing Mudmouth's as it stops the lesser's from spawning in and the earlier the Snatchers will come. The direction the snatchers will come is to the back left of the basket (the direction you spawn in is what I have in mind when I say "left" or "right"), so you can leave the first 4 Mudmouth's to Snatchers (including the Mudmouth to the bottom right of basket).
The only tips I have for W3 is that Kraken can kill the Flyfish and Stinger that spawns infront of the basket, and the 2nd Flyfish that immediately spawns in to the left of it. And near the end, 2 more Fishstick's will spawn in and Tri-Strike can take those out.
Tornado is a wave that most people underestimate. It's heavily important to keep tossing eggs and to have all 4 PEOPLE on the ground level to toss eggs. Dynamo can roll over all of the lesser's while the other 3 toss eggs. After tossing the eggs 1 time on the left, there is a ramp where the eggs land. At that ramp area is where you can throw the eggs onto the ship. SNATCHER'S DO NOT SPAWN ON TORNADO, do not worry about leaving those eggs there. Once all lesser's are dead, all 4 people should keep tossing egg's onto the ship. Once the 2nd basket spawns in, one person (ideally Squiffer) should open that basket and toss eggs to the direction of the basket. Once lesser's spawn, Squiffer should go up to the ship and put eggs in the basket while the other 3 keep tossing and killing the lessers. The reason why Squiffer is the one tossing eggs in is because of it's slower kill rate.
Wave 5. As you can see I failed that one LMFAO so I don't really have much tips other than all 4 should kill all the bosses the first wave spawns in (top left). If I recall, Snatchers fly over basket from that location so it should be fine. Other than that, good luck LOL

DO YOU have any tips for charger . i know you posted abt playing the squiffer yesterday so . grins at you so sweetly
yeah just hit yr shots /j ok but fr the best think i can say is just. relax. if youre panicking yr gonna be flicking all over the place and its not going to be good. try not to rely on motion controls, practice gliding with the analogue. seriously practice in the little warm up room in the lobby until you hit your shots Every Single Time. and then find a new angle to hit from. practice hitting while moving too, if youre in a game yr not gonna want to stay still for too long. most importantly: have fun!!!!! if yr not having a good time yr charger experience will not be good.

Name: Ghost Yuray
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/His
Sexuality/romantic attraction: Bisexual
Alignment: Lawful Good
Species: Inkling (specifically a glass squid)
Weapon(s): Chargers, mostly the classic squiffer
Occupation/Affiliations: Turf Wars
Personality: Ghost is social and tries to stay positive throughout any situation, always showing good sportsmanship. But he is very self-conscious about his see through parts (especially with his head) so he tries to cover them up unless with friends in his apartment.
Appearance: Ghost is a pale blue inkling with grey eyes and pale skin, standing at 5’7. He has half shaven tentacle style, with his shaven half showing through his brain. His chest is also see through along with his fingertips and the tips of his ears and tentacles. He often wears pastel-colored clothing.
Backstory/background: Ghost was born and raised in Inkopolis and had dreams of taking part in Turf Wars. He was born with two hearts instead of three. While growing up, his condition would tire him out quicker than his fellow Inklings so he couldn’t do anything active. His mother would take him to arcades where he would play shooting games. This gave him an idea, he knows that he can still play in Turf War without having to move around as much. When he turned fourteen he saved enough money  for a charger and started playing in Turf Wars by spalting players from afar.

how 2 get goood at squiffer?
Tumblr media
i hear your pleas anon, and i am here to help!
so! before i start getting into the nitty gritty, i want to say that i know pretty much Nothing about the metagame or anything pro like that. i am purely casual, anything competitive i know is through osmosis and not so much actual experience. i'm also pretty much solely a turf player. basically, i am not an Expert on the best ways to use a squiffer according to meta, i am simply sharing my wisdom based on my personal experience.
now that that's out of the way, let's get into it! this'll probably get long but i'll try and make it an easy read:
first off, pick a squiffer! my personal favorite of the three is the new squiffer, with autobombs and baller. it's a great kit for all-around gameplay, as in my experience i've been able to utilize my sub and special in both offensive and defensive situations, and it's pretty good at covering ground too. if you prefer to play support, try the classic squiffer with point sensor and ink armor. neither sub nor special lay down any ink, but well-placed point sensors and providing armor to your team can really put pressure on the enemy team, without necessarily being in the front line. if you're all about offense, try the fresh squiffer with suction bombs and inkjet. i am personally not good with an inkjet, but i do know that they are Scary if they know what they're doing. suction bombs have a larger blast than splat bombs, and good placement can apply pressure and cover a lot of ground at the same time. truly, a force to be reckoned with.
now that you've picked out a squiffer, the next thing you must understand is that squiffers play very differently from every other charger. a squiffer is not a perch charger! a squiffer is not a bamboozler either! to properly use a squiffer, you must be mobile. you need to get in closer than most other chargers would, as the squiffer has the range of a toothpick. yes, it is scary! but it's necessary. before you can become a speedy one-shot machine, you must first be comfortable with sniping in close proximity in a fast-paced environment. practice your movement; jump a lot (the squiffer's charge speed remains the same even when you're in the air!), swim around with stored charge, try and make a quick escape if you find yourself in a sticky situation, really get to know your squiffer's range and charge speed (main power up increases range on the squiffer and most other chargers, though whether or not you stack it is completely up to you).
because squiffers are meant to be mobile, it can be pretty tricky to aim when starting out. this is okay! chargers in general have a higher skill floor than some other weapon types, mainly because you have to be absolutely spot-on with your shots in order to deal any damage. it's rough, i know. but it's possible to improve! i highly recommend utilizing the testing room (y'know, the one with the balloon squids) to practice your aim. there are several different ways to drill, and there are drills on youtube you can follow if you don't know what to do. go easy on yourself, no matter where your skill level falls; every charger main misses their shot at some point! if you miss, simply try again. if you keep shooting, you're gonna land your shot eventually! also, absolutely do not be afraid to backpedal. keeping a good amount of distance from your foe is important, so make sure you get a feel for that sweet spot and make it a habit to create distance if someone gets too close on the battlefield. that being said, you won't always have that opportunity; squiffers are no strangers to flick shots!
lastly, give yourself time and room to grow. and i mean LOTS of it. all skills are built over the course of several days, weeks, you get the idea. if you are truly dedicated/able to do so, practicing every day for at least half an hour is ideal. even if you think you suck one day, come back the next day and give it another go; you might just surprise yourself with how much you improved! if you have space on your switch/sd card, i recommend you save any clips of cool squiffer moments you're proud of, no matter how small. when i was first learning squiffer, i would save clips that were admittedly not very impressive, but in the moment i was so proud of being able to land a shot that it seemed like i just performed a miracle. watching myself do something i never thought i'd be able to do before was a fantastic motivator (along with the incredibly satisfying snipe sound) and so i relished in all my tiny victories. my many missed shots and match losses didn't even matter to me at that point, those exciting moments are what made it all worth it in the end.
these are the most important things i can think of. if you want more in-depth advice or have any questions, please feel free to ask! i'd be happy to help anyone that wants to try out my favorite weapon! good luck out there!!

Remember!!!
!!! All One-Shot Chargers have this neat skill called Fleshpiercer.
!!! Fleshpiercer allows shots of ink to pass through multiple entities as long as they’re a player, a box, or an enemy, but did you know that there’s a sub-category of this? It’s called...
Passthrough
- One-Shot Chargers Skill
- Allows full charges to pass through other things such as sub weapons and special weapons like Splash Walls and the Bubble Blower Bubbles
Remember this when you’re taking aim at someone with Splash Walls or Bubble Blower, especially if they somehow outrange you!
Thank you and have a good day!
- Sean

Grizzco Research Department Supplemental Materials: Employee Profile*
*PR says that we need to make ourselves more relatable. Plus it’s confusing when we drop names all the time without introducing ourselves.
(Please note that these are a blend of squidsonas and our real lives. At the end of the day, we aren’t playing characters when we interact with people on this blog; we’re just ourselves. Our backstories and histories have been changed in order to fit the in-universe story we’re telling in the ancillary posts on this blog, but most of the time we’re 100% just Katie, Ashe, Kiera, and Dan.)
Name: Kiera Pronouns: She/her Titles (Blog Roles): discord server moderator Favorite Weapons: Squiffers and Nautilus 79 Specialties: Chargers, splatlings, mid to long-range shooters, buckets, cannoneer (Cohock Charge) Preferred Role: Boss slayer, egg runner History: Kiera grew up living and working under the Octarian army. As she received the same training as her fellow octolings, and she quickly learned she had a distaste for one on one battles. Quick to anger and easily frustrated, she made the decision to focus her combat skills on weapons with more range than the average Splattershot.
After coming to live in Inkopolis, she found her preferred calling in turf wars and with the part-time jobs that Grizzco provided. Soon after, she found a place with Ashe and Katie as a tri-squad, her skillset filling in where the others may have lacked. They became fast friends that grew even closer when Dan joined the team. Kiera sometimes has trouble staying awake at socially acceptable hours. She blames it on her upbringing as an octoling and the artificial day-night cycles of Octo Valley.
Kiera prefers weapons chargers, splatlings, buckets, and more recently, the Jet Squelcher. She is, admittedly, maybe more aggressive with them than is advised, sometimes getting too close to her opponents, but she also loves to sit back from the action and splat from afar.
When she’s not splatting salmonids or indulging in a bit of turf war, Kiera prefers to spend her time consuming all the media that Inkopolis has to offer. Video games, books, TV and movies, and more music than she has the time to listen to—mostly because she ends up listening to the same things on loop. She likes her comfy jackets and tank tops, wears shorts as much as possible, and almost always has on a pair of boots.
(Kiera helps moderate the Salmon Run Tips discord server and has only posted a couple tips. She spends most of her time playing games, reading, chatting with her friends, and occasionally writing various kinds of fanfiction.)

Splat 2 Charger Tips
This post was inspired by @skyplayssplatoon who recently made some tip posts to help out the community
Control Settings - For chargers, a lower sensitivity is usually better in order to keep your aim steady. My personal settings are -2 for motion control sensitivity and +2 for R stick sensitivity. Just like any weapon, test with different settings to see what works best for you.
(Sorry analog stick users, I’m not very experienced with those types of controls, if any charger mains want to give their settings in the replies it would be appreciated)
Aiming TIps - Try to practice aiming in the training room before going into any matches. It doesn’t need to be for very long and you don’t need to hit all your targets, but it helps bring your muscle memory back if you haven't touched a charger in awhile or you’ve been using other weapons.
- If you have the time, change up your aiming practice in the training room too. Don’t just practice shots while standing still. Shoot while moving, from above, from below, while jumping off of ledges etc. These routines may seem tedious, but the practice will stick over time and will make your aim more consistent.
- Snapping onto your targets is a useful and flashy method for getting kills. This video is a great example of what snapping looks like. However, for less experienced charger players, it’s a bad habit to pickup early on and can actually hinder your aim if you try to rely on it.
Survival Tips - Splat 1 veterans will remember right-side peeking. The same logic still applies to Splat 2 and is pretty important when you’re facing other chargers. For those that don’t know, this helpful Splat 1 video by Squidkids will explain,
- A lot of chargers panic when enemies get into shooting distance. This usually results in a lot of panicked shots that don’t do a lotta damage. When players are close, try to calm down and hit the target with 2 semi-charged shots (i forget about this one too, so don’t worry if this doesn’t stick right away)
- Scoped chargers have a 5% increase to their range, but don’t get the ability to hold their charge. They also lose their field of vision when they zoom in. Try not to stay zoomed in for too long, because you may not see any enemies trying to sneak up on you.
- BOMBS. Chargers with bombs are godlike (imo). They’re the most useful and readily available method of keeping enemies away from you when they get too close. A tip @radiogirl15 taught me was to aim the bomb around your feet when you think you’re going to die. You’d be surprised with how many kills you can get when squiddos and octos aren’t expecting it.
- Don’t be afraid to jump back to spawn. Chargers will find themselves in a pinch more often than not. As you practice, try to learn when to stand your ground and when to fight another day. It doesn’t take much Quick Super Jump to make this effective either. 1 or 2 subs can make a huge difference, try it out sometime!
(Secret tip, try this out in recon mode. Hold Down on the control pad (like you’re saying Booyah!) and quickly press X then A. If you do this correctly, you can superjump back to spawn without even opening up the map! If you want a clearer explanation of this, just ask in the replies or I can setup a video after this post)
Abilities - Similar to settings, abilities are up to player preference. They’re also dependent on what kinda charger you’re playing. There are a ton of chargers in the game now (; ;) so I’ve put the list underneath
(Also, remember that abilities in Splatoon operate in diminishing returns. Try not to stack more than 1 main and 3 subs of any given ability and give your gear some variety!)
Note: These abilities are just recommendations and are not set in stone. Find out what works best for your own playstyle. Chargers that are empty have the same recommended abilities as their siblings for the same reasons.
Splat Charger - Ink Saver Main (2 subs can allow you to shoot an extra charged shot from a full ink tank)
-Ink Saver Sub (BOMBS)
-Ink Recovery Up (Less time in in the ink, more time shooting)
-Swim Speed Up (Helps your survivability, by making you more mobile)
-Quick Super Jump (1-2 subs, i dont wanna be a nag, but i love it)
-Special Charge Up / Special Saver (Mostly used for ranked, Stingray is useful in Rainmaker and Tower Control)
Firefin Splat Charger -
Special Charge Up / Special Saver (Suction Bomb Rush is good for Splat Zones and Turf War)
Kensa Splat Charger -
Special Charge Up / Special Saver (Optional for this charger, since Sprinklers helps you get your special really quickly)
Special Power Up (A better replacement for Special Charge Up, 1 main and 3 subs recommended to keep your baller intact in most situations)
Classic Squiffer - Main Power Up (1 main and 2 subs can increase your range to about the same length as a Goo Tuber)
Swim Speed Up (This charger has the shortest rage out of its class. It benefits from higher mobility to get within distance and run away cause enemies will closer most of the time)
Quick Super Jump
New Squiffer -
Special Power Up (Use for the same reasons as the Kensa Splat Charger)
Fresh Squiffer -
Ink Saver Sub (The suction bomb is pretty ink greedy, so some Ink Saver Sub comes in handy) (The other 2 Squiffers have less ink greedy subs so they don’t need the ability as much)
Special Power Up (2 subs to 1 main is recommended because it increases the splash damage from your inkjet shots - makes it easier to land shots basically)
-The 3 Squiffers are pretty flexible and are mostly up to personal preference when it comes to which abilities you want to run
E-liter 4K - Main Power Up (1 main or 1 main and 1 sub is recommended, the increased turf coverage can help build up special quickly too)
Swim Speed Up (Since heavyweight weapons were buffed in patch 4.3.0 it doesn’t take as much swim speed up its weight class) (recommended amount from as few as 2 subs to 1 main 3 subs)
Ink Saver Main (2 subs grants one more fully charged shot with a full ink tank, 1 main grants two more fully charged shots with a full ink tank)
Special Charge Up (When you use your special, your ink tank automatically refills) (Use your specials wisely in order to keep your ink tank in the green)
Ink Resistance Up (With low mobility, this weapon can suffer from being stuck in enemy ink) (1-2 subs is recommended)
Ink Recovery Up (This weapon needs a lottttttt of ink)
Quick Super Jump
Custom E-liter 4K -
Ink Saver Sub (Optional, but beakons are expensive)
Sub Power Up (Help your teammates out by getting them to your beakons faster) (If they use your beakons lol)
Special Power Up (Patch 4.6.0 buffed special up for bubbles so you don’t need as much) (2 subs to 1 main of special power up is recommended)
Bamboozler 14 Mk I - Main Power Up (2 mains and 7 subs / or 3 mains and 4 subs will get you to the damage cap of 99.9 damage)
Ink Saver Sub (The curling bomb is a useful mobility option and if you hold the bomb it can make a great defensive option)
Ink Resistance Up (The bamboozler is the only charger that doesn’t make complete lines of ink when it isn’t fully charged) (You’re bound to get stuck sometime so this ability comes in handy)
Quick Super Jump
Bamboozler 14 Mk II -
Ink Saver Sub (The sub isn’t as threatening or ink greedy so not highly recommended for this version)
Bamboozler 14 Mk III -
Special Power Up (Like the Custom E-liter, use it to increase the size and damge radius of your bubbles)
Goo Tuber - Special Charge Up (Splashdown is a good panic special that can take enemies by surprise when they get too close) (Having the special more often helps especially)
Ink Saver Sub (Gee suction bomb! Why do you get 70% of the ink tank?)
Swim Speed Up (With more time to hold a charge, having more speed grants you more opportunities to utilize this unique ability)
Quick Super Jump
Custom Goo Tuber -
Special Power Up (Same with the New Squiffer, helps with the inkjet)
Scoped Variants -  Same recommended abilities as their unscoped variants.

tap shots/panic shooting with chargers
hey gaymers im back with more charger tips ! this guide doesn’t include bamboozlers because i don’t play them enough and their short charge time means they work best with tap shots. sorry for the block text, i’m just trying to be thorough!
so here’s some things i’ve found:
-tap shots are generally not the best method of defense, but there are situations where it can be useful. if you’ve already gotten some damage in, a few tap shots can finish them off, but this isn’t recommended. if you drop a bomb of some sort, you can finish them with a tap.
-instead, try holding your charge as long as possible and keeping an aim on them (assuming you’re 1 on 1). as they get closer and you have a full charge, you have a better chance of making the shot. if your charge is enough, you’ll splat them completely. this is easiest with rollers, and some shooters. with brushes and dualies, this can be a bit trickier since they’re so quick.
-tap shots on brushes can be effective if you can land them because it will prevent them from advancing all the way, but generally building a charge or dropping your sub will be more effective. to land full shots on dualies and brushes, it takes planning to find out where they’re going to be. brushes tend to weave back and forth, aim for where they’ll be in the middle. dualies depends on what set they’re using- trying them out yourself will help you learn the dodge rolls and delays so you know where to aim. try to get dualies when they’re coming out of a dodge roll, because they’ll lag there for a moment. alternatively, force dualies off the map or try to get them to roll directly towards you instead of to the side so that you can have a more direct shot
-like you’ve probably heard from literally every other charger guide, try dropping your sub. even kits like the kensa charger that have a sprinkler can be effective: people either stop to destroy them (which gives you a moment to recover) or will let them continue (which will hopefully damage them). if you’re using something like the squiffer or kensa, save your special for when you’re in a jam. ink armor and baller give you a shield and refill your ink so you can protect yourself afterwards!
-stack at least a few ink saver (subs or main, i prefer sub) or ink recoveries! they can make a huge difference

Chapter 8: Resistance
So later that night, I lay on the rusty iron bridge of Bluefin Depot, waiting for the moment when we put our plan into action. Rose and Mina were down below, enjoying the dim light of a bonfire, and Fuchsia was back in Octo Canyon. According to her, her mom was supposed to be home tonight, making this the perfect moment to make this happen. We sent her off with a letter, telling her mom to meet us here, and now we're just waiting for her to come back.
As I lied there, staring at the stars in the sky, I hummed a melody to myself. It was of an old lullaby that my mom used to sing to me all the time when I was younger. Or so I heard. I didn't know mom all that well, because she died when I was 1. Though, I vaguely remember stargazing with her once, as she told me a bunch of facts about the stars... of which I remember none of them.
A little bit later, the sound of footsteps can be heard, clanking across the metal pathways of the depot. Turning over to see who it is, I see Fuchsia running in.
"Did you give her the letter?" Asks Rose, getting up from the bonfire. Fuchsia nods. "Yup. S-she'll be here any minute!" She says, climbing up to the bridge, where I was. I nod, and start climbing down. Mina puts out the bonfire, and sure enough, a few minutes later, more footsteps could be heard from across the depot. They weren't fast, like Fuchsia's, but rather calm and slow.
In the distance, I could see a glowing red dot, as well as some yellow, with a tinge of blue. As they came closer, I could make out more of their features, like how the red dot was on a pair of evil-looking sunglasses (that had kelp tied to it, so that's a yikes), and how their yellow hair was tied in a ponytail, with blue rings on the ends. While Rose, Fuchsia and I were hidden throughout the depot, Mina stood front-and-center, her bioluminescent hair glowing in the darkness.
"So, what's this? You're just giving yourself to me?" Asks Fuchsia's mom; the assassin. Now that she was even closer, I realized that despite her hair being yellow and the rings on it being blue, the tips of her fingers were blood red. I don’t want to think about why. "Not necessarily." Mina responds. "Just thought you could humor me for a sec before I "meet my demise" or whatever." The assassin chuckles, though I can see the red dot on her glasses darting back and forth between us and our hiding spots. Just in case, I hold my breath a bit.
She raises her weapon to Mina's face. "Sure, sure. I'll answer you one question. Ask carefully." Mina thinks about her question... for around two seconds. "Who are you?" She asks. "The name's Silica." Responds the assassin. "Not that you or your friends will be alive to remember it." She says, quickly turning her weapon in my direction, and firing a shot. I yelp a bit as I dodge out of the way. The shot seemed to have the range of an E-Liter, maybe more, but the charge time was definitely more akin to the Squiffer. Oh dear, what have we gotten ourselves into...
Tumblr media
Mina uses the extra fraction of a second that my existence bought her to whip out her Luna Blaster and fire a shot at Silica, forcing her to back off. Then, she makes a beeline for... anywhere else but there. "Scatter!" Mina shouts to us as she runs. I nod, and book it in some random direction, with Rose and Fuchsia doing the same. "You can run, but you can't hide..." Says Silica, just barely audible over the unmistakable sound of Autobombs.
Quickly, I duck into a small building nearby. It was rusty like the rest of the depot, and looked like it had been abandoned for decades, but it made for a good enough hiding spot. Once I catch my breath, I turn to my phone.
"Everyone ok?" I text to the others, via a little group chat we set up beforehand. "I'm alright; hanging near the west side" types Rose. I breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that Rose was nearby where I hid. "Holding position on the bridge" types Fuchsia. "She hasn't seen me yet." I wait for a second to see Mina's response.
"I think I lost her. Should be safe for now, but not sure how much longer" types Mina. Though I'm relieved that everyone's safe, I can't help but feel chills down my (nonexistent) spine, as the world around me grows eerily quiet; the normally obnoxiously loud sound of Autobombs fading into silence, with no blasts or explosions to be heard...
Rose's POV
I breathe a quiet sigh of relief, knowing that the others are safe, but I continue patrolling the area for any sign of Silica. Blue-ringed octopi like her are as deadly as they come, and after losing mom all those years ago, I'm not taking any chances. Gripping my Splatling tight, I keep wandering around the silent depot.
As I walked, however, I noticed something off in the distance. Or rather, someone. They had short, red hair and skin that looked similar to mine, wearing a blue hoodie and a pair of blue Moto Boots as well. They also had a pair of very familiar-looking Sennyu Goggles on their head. As they turn to me, I can see their eyes, which are as dark of a grey as the goggles on her head. Just like Scarlet's...
"M-mom?" I whisper, cautiously coming a little closer. As I do, she opens her arms for a hug, to which I gladly accept, my emotions taking over for a second. Picking up my pace, I go to hug her, but as I do, the image of mom disappears; the only things left in front of me being a puddle of red ink, the pair of Sennyu Goggles, and an Autobomb. I caught only a quick glimpse of it, but the bomb was pitch-black with blood red accents, as opposed to their normal white-and-whatever color scheme. There also appeared to be some sort of camera or something on it, which must've been what was displaying the hologram of mom.
Seeing the bomb, I quickly backflip out of the way of the explosion, and while I survived for the most part, the blast still grazed me. "Oh, that dirty little..." I mutter, my brain reflecting on what just happened. I was already against that assassin, but now she's made it personal.
As I catch my breath, I hear a scream coming from a small building nearby, and instantly, my big-sister instincts kick in. "Scarlet!" I yell, making my way to the building where the scream came from.
Scarlet's POV
"Not again, not again, not again..." I think to myself, as I whimper in the corner of the building, with tears streaking down my eyes. As much as I wished this moment wasn't real, there was no way that it wasn't. I could feel the cinders occasionally graze my face; I could smell the smoke in the air, and most importantly, I could see the billowing flames burning in front of me. My back was turned towards the wall, and the only door and all of the windows were already engulfed in flames.
This wasn't like when I was 7, when the school I was in went ablaze and I was barely able to escape through the window.
(Yeah, everyone else evacuated without me, and I was left behind to fend for myself. Being extraordinarily average has it's downsides, I guess...) This time, every escape I had was covered. My only option was to hope that someone outside heard my cries for help, which I could barely hear over the crackling of the fire. "So this is how I go, then. Burnt, charred, and extra-crispy." I think to myself, as the flames slowly grow closer. I start humming that lullaby again, and as I do, Rose comes storming through the door, bursting through the flames like they were nothing. "Scarlet!" She shouts, running to me and giving me a hug. "Rose!" I shout back, eternally grateful to see her again. I throw myself into her arms, and sob uncontrollably into her shoulder. "I-I thought I was a goner..." I say wearily. Rose pats my back. "It's okay, sis. It's okay." She says calmly, though her eyes are darting around the room, as if looking for something. Eventually, her eyes settle on the ceiling, just above the corner where I was a second ago. She whips out her Splatling and shoots the spot, revealing a black-and-red Autobomb. With a bang, it crashes to the floor, and all of the flames disappear.
"You alright, sis?" Rose asks, hugging me again. "Y-yeah. Just a little traumatized, that's all." I say. "So then that makes two of us." She mutters, just loud enough for me to hear. I don't bother asking, as I've already had enough trauma today to last a lifetime, maybe two. "We need to go find the others, ASAP!" I say. Rose nods in agreement, and we take off to go find Mina and Fuchsia.
Fuchsia's POV
From up on my perch on the bridge, I could see mom staring at her phone for a moment, before putting it away and walking in the direction Mina went. She hadn't seen me yet, so maybe this was the perfect opportunity to follow and get the jump on her. But at the same time... I was too terrified to move. "Come on, Fuchsia. This is your chance! Go!" I tried telling myself, but I was still scared. "Look, if you don't move now, someone's going to die here tonight." That was enough to get me to budge. Getting up, I quickly (but carefully) climb down from the bridge, and tiptoe after mom, being careful to stay out of sight.
Eventually, we come across Mina, near the edge of the depot. "Like I said. You can run, but you can't hide." Says mom, tossing one of her Autobombs up and down in her hand. "That may be the case..." Mina says, pulling out her Luna Blaster. "But you never said I couldn't fight!" She fires a few shots at mom, and she dodges the last two, though she got grazed by the first. Mom shakes her head, pulling out her gun. "So you've chosen death, I see? Fine then." She says. "Makes my job easier." She fires a shot at Mina, which she quickly dodges out of the way of. They continue fighting it out like this for a little bit, but over the sounds of gunfire, I hear the faint, yet familiar sound of a Splatling charging. (I wish I wasn't so familiar with it, but I guess it's better to be in this situation.)
Just then, a barrage of projectiles go flying through the air, said projectiles looking similar to those fired from the cannons we have in Octo Canyon. "What in the-" says mom, while Mina has a smirk on her face. With mom distracted, Mina fires her Luna Blaster once again, the shot making direct contact with mom's face, knocking her down to the ground, and knocking the gun out of her hands.
I make my way out of my hiding spot, unsure of what to do. Everything was happening so fast, and I could hardly keep up. "Fuchsia!" Scarlet calls to me. I look to where her voice was coming from, and find her on top of some scaffolding up above. Without much of any prior warning, she tosses her weapon, the 'D-Liter' as she called it, and I barely catch it, making my way to mom and pinning her chest to the floor with my foot. Though I couldn’t see her eyes, I didn't need to to see that she was mad. Finagling with the behemoth of a weapon I was given, I point it at her; my face with a slight touch of sadness on it. "Sorry, mom." I mutter, pulling the trigger, splatting her in one uncharged shot.
Mina then comes by and puts her little octopus ghost in a jar, and Rose calls the police.
"You alright?" Asks Scarlet, as we watch the police cars take mom away. "Yeah..." I respond. "To be honest, it felt like... like the weight of the world was taken off of my shoulders." Though I'll always love my mother, I'm glad that her days of violence and murder are finally over.

Some hot tips for using the Bamboozler 14 Mk I from someone who only ever uses the damn thing:
Rule #1: DON’T treat it like a charger. It’s not a charger in the traditional sense, don’t treat it like it is, I’m looking at you Salmon Run players. You are not an E Liter, you are not a Splatcharger, you are not a Squiffer.
Rule #2: Since the Mk I is the only Bamboozler in the game so far, use your curling bomb. Use it a lot. It may not seem like it would be good for the Bamboozler, but it is. You move around a lot when you use the Bamboozler, your curling bomb is your best friend. Don’t forget about it like I do.
Rule #3: Mind your range. Your range is short, a Squelcher has about the same range you do. You do, however, have slightly longer range than a Squiffer. Mind Squelchers and mind your surroundings.
Rule #4: High up is not for the Bamboozler, remember you aren’t a charger. You don’t just sit and snipe. You move around, you hide, you do chip damage for your teammates. You want to be on the ground, in the fray, and hopefully keeping your distance. Unless the enemy team decides they want to bully you and only you.
Rule #5: You do not have a OHKO. But, don’t let that scare you. One fully charged shot and a quick tap with splat someone. Four uncharged shots will splat someone. A tap from a curling bomb and a fully charged shot with splat someone. You have many options.
Rule #6: Have good aim. You don’t have to be 100% perfect, you just gotta be able to splat someone before they get too close. Don’t be scared of close quarters combat, though, you are better at splatting close range than a regular charger. Jump if they jump, it helps for some reason.
Rule #7: This rule applies to most weapons, always have your team’s back, you are especially good at that.
Rule #8: Always remember that your range is the same no matter the charge.
Rule #9: Run if you have to. If you gotta boogie on out, do it.
And that’s all I remember for right now. I might update this later with gear ability recommendations and other shit. Also, the Bamboozler is really good in Rainmaker, don’t know why. Not in Clam Blitz though, don’t use the Bamboozler in Clam Blitz.

;^; do you know anyone who uses the bamboozler or has bamboozler tips?
OldSquidHepa is a very good bamboozler user!! I asked for her advice:
“I guess ink resistance because your bamboober is shots are so thin. Ink recovery is nice. And maybe some run speed for better strafing?? Fuck what was the word???? God I forgot the word. Never forget that weapon can actually ink a good amount of turf“
She also gives these tips:
-You dont have to wait for a full charge with the Bamboozler to take them out, so dont fire too slowly!-Keep your distance, but curling bombs ARE useful for mobility! Don’t be afraid to sneak around with them.-Tentamissles can scare off longer ranged chargers-It got a range buff since Splatoon 1 so you dont have to get SUPER close or anything! Just plan your attack carefully! It can take on Squiffers pretty well now.If anyone else has any other tips and advice to give, please enter them below in reblogs or comments!!
