For the ask game if you’re comfortable :))
🍭: how did you pick your system name?
it's a last of us reference -- the character of ellie has a comic series she is very fond of called "savage starlight." our host's biggest special interest is tlou. it has loved that game since we were children. its identity is very intertwined with the character of ellie, as well.
💜: does your system have introjects of any kind?
we most definitely do -- i (ford) am one of them. at the time of my answering this ask, we have 11 fictives. we have multiple gravity falls fictives (including myself), an introject of an oc of angel's, a love live! fictive, a fnaf fictive, an amazing digital circus fictive, a magnus protocol fictive, and three additional fictives from pieces of media we aren't comfortable naming publicly.

What are your thoughts on the sasusaku ship and how it was written in the show/manga?
I have written some of my thoughts through here and here but I figure you want me to flesh it out so I'll try to explain it from the best of my ability from the very beginning. I may warn you this is a long analysis.
I have tried to like SasuSaku, trust me, I really have but everytime I re read the manga and read some of their moments together I can't help but cringe because they are so vague and later on they become negative and toxic to the point you question if their is any hope in their relationship and felt very bad to me. I feel like at the beginning they did a okay job, they were shown to have some sense of care in each other regarding Sakura's huge crush on Sasuke and repeatedly asking him on dates. Yes, it is a little bit annoying but remember that Sakura was a 13 year old kid at that time who of course would be a little bit immature for her age so I let her have a pass because there are plenty of girls out there who are probably similiar to her.
During the bell test we get to see them interact more and Sasuke even attempts to try and tell Sakura his dreams and ambitions here since clearly Sakura knows very little about Sasuke other than the fact that he is part of the Uchiha clan, wants to kill his older brother (which she finds cool???), and likes long hair (which is most likely a rumor).
I'll even admit that this scene where Sakura hugs him to stop him from ripping another shinobi's arms off was very cute as she was able to calm him down. Most people found this romantic and sweet because Sasuke activated his curse mark because Sakura got hurt and that may only be half true because Sakura also confirms that Sasuke was letting his lust of power get to his head due to Orochimaru.
And then this scene right here when Sasuke was about to leave Kohona, I found this scene very upsetting not just because Sasuke was leaving to go to Orochimaru to get revenge, power and all that jazz but because of the way Sakura tried to convince Sasuke to stay in Kohona.
At first I found her words comforting and true when she was explaining to Sasuke that revenge isn't the answer to his problems which is true but the fact she added it wouldn't make her happy is when I got a little upset and you can see it made Sasuke upset to. Why? Because Sakura is basically making this scene all about herself. She isn't trying to understand Sasuke reasons for his depature and is more upset about what she wants and not him. And then she does it again telling Sasuke that she loves him so much she can't stand and even states she would be LONELY if he went away!
I found it very unnerving because Sakura doesn't understand Sasuke's feelings. She keeps on making it about her and the fact that she keeps on ignoring Sasuke's words really irritated me. Sakura has friends and family who love and care for her and while Sasuke hardly has any friends, he lost his family so young and it doesn't help that none of the teachers seem to be concerned about his mental health and well-being or the Uchiha massacre and it just goes to show that Sakura not only does she not understand Sasuke but doesn't want to understand nor does she care about his feelings. Because the whole reason she wanted to become a kunoichi was to get Sasuke's attention, she grew her hair for Sasuke, and basically her entire world revolves around Sasuke which isn't healthy for a girl so young like Sakura. She even states she will leave the village and help him take revenge just to be close to him which again is stupid but at the same time she doesn't know any better.
And can we also talk about the fact that after Sasuke knocks her out he just LEAVES her there all alone, unprotected in the middle of the night where anyone could hurt her???? That is not OKAY and it just goes to show how little care Sasuke has for Sakura in regards to her well-being.
And then we have this scene where Sakura plans to go kill Sasuke all by herself so she wouldn't burden Naruto with their promise of bringing Sasuke back to Kohona.
Again, Sasuke tries to tell Sakura his motives but once again Sakura goes "IDC!!", why? Because once again it just proves that Sakura truly doesn't care for Sasuke's feelings and has no interest in trying to and all she notes is that he changes. I'm sure she has once wondered why Sasuke is doing all this but she doesn't feel the need to try and understand it, why? If Sakura truly does care for Sasuke why hasn't she tried to understand his clan, his background, his feelings? If she truly loved and cared for Sasuke she would try to give a damn about how he feels.
And keep in mind that Sakura was the one who tried to kill Sasuke first, I've seen Sasuke getting a lot of backlash for trying to kill Sakura but people tend to forget Sakura started it and Sasuke was going to finish it!
And gosh, this part where Sasuke tries to kill Sakura will always leave me in complete and utter shock and disgust! Bro didn't even let her prove herself worthy standing by his side when he asked her to kill Karin, he straight up was ready to nerf her ass with no remorse!!
Kakashi even confirms that Sasuke really meant to kill Sakura with no hesitation whatsoever! What would've happened if Sasuke managed to suceed in killing Sakura if Kakashi hadn't come just in time??
Then Sakura attempts to try and kill Sasuke again but of course is unable to due to her unhealthy crush towards Sasuke. So then Sasuke tries to kill Sakura again by using her poisoned kunai knife against her!!
And then Naruto had to come and save Sakura again from nearly being killed by Sasuke! Again, what would've happened if Naruto hadn't come in time?? Kakashi was nearly too late in saving Sakura and Naruto had to save her instead, Sasuke really could've killed her again with no remorse and yet SasuSaku shippers find this healthy?! Because at this point it just goes to show just by now how unhealthy this pair is!
Many SasuSaku shippers say that Sasuke and Sakura's feelings are connected but I beg to differ because this scene where Naruto reveals that he knows the truth about Itachi further proves just how very little Sakura knows about Sasuke. She is confused and doesn't understand what Naruto means by that and I bet you she doesn't even bother to ask Naruto about it in the aftermath.
And that fact that she still likes him after he tried to take her life is just appalling! Like, anyone with a brain would understand that if a man who you love purposely tries to take your life willingly, twice means that you should take the hint and realize that he doesn't like you and that you should really think twice if you want to be with them! But Sakura, for someone who is so smart she really can be so stupid! Why would you want to marry someone who tries to kill you??
And then when the three of them plus Kakashi are up against Madara and his new transformation this is what she does.
She runs in with no plan whatsoever! And why? Because she wanted Sasuke to see how much progress she's made and doesn't want to be seen as a weakling! She ends up getting stabbed and then Naruto and Sasuke have to rescue her! And when they do Sakura is more CONCERNED about Sasuke not worrying about her than the war in general!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME SAKURA??
What makes you think that this is the right time to be impressing Sasuke in a middle of a freaking war??!!
And when Sakura seemingly seems concerned about what is happening outside this is what Sasuke says to her:
Wow...I can really feel the loving bond they both share...so romantic...
Then we have Sakura and Kakashi both falling to their almost inevitable doom by almost getting burned by lava and Naruto even tells Sasuke to go and save Sakura but he doesn't and willingly leaves her and Kakashi to both die!
Sakura even realizes it too! Look at how distraught her expression is! She is saddened that the love of her life was willing to leave her to die, and she knows by now that she means nothing to him! And I'm suppose to believe that they are in love or that Sasuke had romantic feelings for her the entire time?! I think not!
And then the cherry on top! This scene where it seems like Sakura is going to knock some sense into Sasuke by how fierce and determined she looks on her face right? But no, this is what she does...
She once again just HAS to make it all about herself! Always about her, how she feels, how much she "loves" Sasuke, and how much she wants him to love her! Now when she was 13 years old it's understandable, she was a little kid who hardly know better but she is practically 16-17 years old here! You would've thought that she would get the memo but no! She is still the same and doesn't care whether or not Sasuke wants her or not! And how does Sasuke respond to that? This...
He puts her under a FREAKING genjustu where he kills her over and over again for 8 FREAKING hours!! Yup, this is your precious and loving ship SasuSaku fans!! You can clearly see just how much Sasuke loves Sakura and how badly he wants her!!
So in short, SasuSaku is toxic and never should've become a couple in the first place! It's not only that Kishimoto doesn't know how to write romance but he purposely shows us just how toxic these two are for each other and should've just stayed as friends! With how negative their interactions are it's safe to say they were never meant to be! Sakura's so called "love" for Sasuke is selfish, shallow, and superficial and we don't even know why she likes him in the first place, and I bet you it's mainly for his looks because Kishimoto even admits that he's been avoiding writing the real reason for Sakura's crush on Sasuke. Sakura likes the idea of having a handsome man like Sasuke in her life and wants him regardless if he wants her or not!
Sorry for the long analysis here but I hope this answers your question and helps you understand just how bad SasuSaku are!

katsuki is such a deep sleeper but once you move to leave the bed suddenly he’s up
asking slurred questions: “w’s wrong? cant sleep?” while trying to grab you and get you back into bed
you just answer “‘m gettin water katsuki lemme go” all groany trying to get out of his hold
he doesn’t let go easy but once he does he follows you through the house into the kitchen. you get yourself a nice cold water bottle with condensation around it(AGGHHH) and drink. like the creep he is he stares at you but you can’t notice bc he’s wrapped himself around your back. you offer his some water and he downs the rest(greedy loser). then you both go back to bed, which katsuki decides to pull you in close and never let go(even if you die of thirst)
anyway love you caitie❤️❤️
All that intense hero training and a whole. entire. war. just for him to be able to go from dead-to-the-world and Snoring to ... ready to run a mile after you around the house..........
Even if all you gotta do is pee, too... you're coming back to bed all groggy eyed to find his wide open, like he was just sitting there, making sure you were going to the bathroom and Nothing Else. Cuz you're right, if it's water, then he's right there beside you the whole time and drinking the whole thing on the way back upstairs (that is, after you manage to get him to let go of your wrist and stop all the get back in bed-ing...for someone who complains about your whining, he's surprisingly? Unsurprisingly? no better).
Please, please, please, for his sake, just keep a full water cup by the side of your bed and make sure to use the bathroom right before laying down, too (even if he's whining about how long you take then also) just so you can stayed wrapped up with him for the max amount of time possible🥺🥺🥺 Doesn't that seem like the best solution?
(^^ don't tell him I snitched, but bakugo told me to write that last bit, btw)
Love u more, anon!!🩷🩷🩷

For a writing prompt- skyward sword zelink but like older, middle aged parents
It was a well established fact that Link loved to sleep. However, when Zelda nudged him not-so-gently and told him that not one, but two of their adult children had dropped by to visit, it was a testament to his love for them that he immediately sprang out of bed to see them.
Link and Zelda had long come to terms with the fact that some of their children were fully grown and living their own lives, but it still made their hearts ache to see the empty rooms in their home. Any chance they could get to spend with them (and their grandchildren) was a blessing.
The fact that it was a special day today completely escaped Link's notice. He was just thrilled to see his two eldest, but he grew bemused as all his children arrived, some with their families.
"Dad... it's your birthday, remember?" His firstborn reminded him. "Did you think we wouldn't come for your big fiftieth?"
Link groaned. He didn't need a reminder that he was old.
Zelda came in at that point, laughing and cupping his cheeks with her hands. "Oh, love, it isn't that bad. I've been able to trial it a little for you, and I can guarantee nothing drastically changes."
It certainly felt like something drastic was going to happen. Turning fifty was terrifying. Link had noticed the subtle changes as he'd aged, how he didn't heal as quickly, how he couldn't bounce back from a two hour nap like he used to. Nothing was debilitating, though his old wounds bothered him far more now, but...
"My back hurts," he grumbled just to elicit laughter from his family. It wasn't exactly a lie, anyway.
Dinner was wonderful, but the greatest blessing of all was just to have his family there, together. Link basked in the warmth of it, and he noticed the gentle smile Zelda directed at him as she watched everything unfold. As everyone started to settle around a warm fire in the den, Link slinked into the kitchen where his beloved was cleaning up (one of their daughters had helped with the majority of it, but she’d eventually shooed her out).
“This was your doing, wasn’t it?” He asked quietly.
Zelda remained silent, which was the most telling thing of all. It was rare for his beloved to be quiet in a conversation. Link couldn’t hide the loving smile, the way his head tilted, and Zelda giggled at the sight of it.
“I love you, Dove,” she finally said, pulling him into a hug, hands soaking wet and saturating his shirt as she held him.
Link laughed, nuzzling her forehead with his cheek as he hugged her in return. “I love you too.”

Was Itachi's forehead poke to Sasuke a sign of distancing himself and not wanting Sasuke to get involved, rather than just a mere sign of affection? I saw a few people talk about that and how it's weird that Sasuke does that to his family considering the original meaning.
yes, you've got an accurate handle on the original meaning of the Forehead Poke. fundamentally it is an expression of distance that itachi wields at times when he cannot be with sasuke. and it seems to be a throughline of his childhood: sasuke asks itachi to do something as mundane as train together but itachi continually refuses on account of his duties as a shinobi.
it is not a gesture devoid of love -- it's not as though itachi ever delights in dismissing sasuke (on the contrary, he is always regretful). but there's a cruelty in the uncertainty of it all: the most direct translation is "maybe next time", so itachi fails to provide even an assurance that they can, like, hang out next week or something. this chasm between them is then widened by itachi promising, on the night of the massacre, that he might allow a final battle between them if sasuke ever proves competent enough to bother fighting, leaving sasuke in protracted pursuit of the looming specter of his older brother.
this distance is really only bridged (barely) in their final scene when itachi lays bare the truth of his motives, his regrets (which are lacking, to put it mildly, but for sasuke this is nonetheless momentous), and his unconditional pride in and love for his little brother. the Forehead Poke is notably absent here because textually, the enforced distance wrt sasuke is framed as itachi's greatest wrong. (seriously, itachi says something to the effect of: i shouldn't have done All That because maybe you, my 7-year-old brother, could have brought change to our clan... thereby reducing inconvenience for konoha, of course. the paucity of virtue in massacring the uchiha doesn't really register for him even during this reconciliation, and it's deliberate... because the author doesn't see it as much of an issue either!)
anyway, it might seem odd for sasuke to repeat this gesture with sakura in chapter 699, then, particularly because it seems to be invoked in a manner identical to itachi in his neglect. kind of an odd way to signify a happy ending for these characters, right...?
well, it works for me solely because it is not identical! and naruto's english dub is my worst enemy. i would grab a couple of manga panel screenshots in the original japanese to prove it, but it's easier for me to just plug these scenes from the anime. here is an itachi Forehead Poke (0:51) and here is sakura seeing sasuke off at the konoha gate (0:33). there's a subtle but meaningful distinction in the phrasing: "mata kondo da" vs. "mata kondo na". which, in effect, alter the meaning from "maybe next time" to:
(there's an excellent tumblr post from years ago which performs a substantive analysis of the japanese in both contexts, but eludes me now. pls send if any of you have a link to it!)
so personally i adore its inclusion in chapter 699 specifically. it obviously carries a great deal of weight for sasuke and it's meaningful he chooses to express it to sakura specifically despite leaving the entire team behind -- in lots of ways, and more than any other character, i think for sasuke, sakura is the anti-itachi. (that would require another post to elucidate.) so not only is it an expression of regret at unintended distance, but, more crucially, it's a promise of return. i think it's incredibly sweet that sasuke can repurpose the gesture from something soul-rending to something hopeful.
(also deserving of another post lol but this scene also achieves a neat and, crucially, subversive callback to sakura's foundational insecurities... it's like poetry it rhymes)
all that said, i understand why it reads as something different once we are then given the context of chapter 700 and gaiden... i dislike both of these installments, primarily for the implication that distance becomes a love language, so to speak, between sasuke and sakura/sarada. these relationships are ruled by distance and sasuke accepts it. it's disappointing! his journey to learn about more of the world in chapter 699 jibed with the character's arc until that point. this does not.
my unpopular take is i think this has just about nothing to do with sakura or the sasusaku relationship and everything to do with authorial outlook on sasuke's actions in part 2. and for the record, i maintain that these crimes ultimately amount to very little -- violence and death are occupational hazards if one is a shinobi. konoha is also foregrounded by a cold calculus on the worth of human lives; i'm sure sasuke's indispensable role in saving the world outweighs the killing of a few samurai. i just think kishimoto needs sasuke to atone, somehow, forever, via endless service to the village. and he also cannot sensibly write a kakashi- or naruto-headed government that would impose any meaningful punishment, so sasuke is relegated to a state of permanent rootlessness in some dumbass quest. it's a sacrifice on his part, but contrived for a number of reasons, chief among them being that the sasuke we came to know in the original series would literally never internalize konoha's ideals in this manner. so even though the Forehead Poke in gaiden and boruto retains the elements of promise and anticipation of eventual reconciliation, it feels kind of... lame and weightless. there is a superficial signal at growth but materially, for the parties on the receiving end of the Forehead Poke, very little seems to change.
frankly, i think we are meant to view sasuke's love as noble (and sasuke himself as penitent, suggested by the ascetic quality of his life). sasuke is still doing things differently than itachi, insufficient though it may be: he is honest about the reason for his travels, he does not rush to dismiss sarada when she needs emotional support, his motives are selfless rather than selfish (sasuke guards against the threat of the otsutsuki; itachi... wanted sasuke to kill him, in no small part as a desperate ploy to end his own suffering, notwithstanding the subsequent damage that would be inflicted on his thoroughly traumatized little brother). gaiden is surprisingly candid about the distance as a source of distress for sarada, sakura, and even sasuke, but by the end everyone understands why it must be as it is. the state above all! (you'll notice even itachi's apology to sasuke held this precept intact... there is a reason the series closes with sasuke accepting his old hitai-ate.) it is admittedly vexing, considering the totality of evidence here, to see sasuke's nomadic status in boruto pinned on how much he hates his dumb bitch wife and not, you know. the shockingly bad politics underpinning the narrative.
i appreciate the attempts of sasuke enjoyers to explain his distance as natural aversion to konoha, but this isn't canonically backed by any interiority (which seems to be absent in boruto-era team 7 at large) and moreover it requires miscommunication between sasuke and sakura (or even naruto) so great as to be unbelievable. i've accepted that post-pt2 sasuke is an unfortunate victim of kishomoto's nationalist views. his weird takes on how a man like sasuke would behave in a loving relationship and likely desire for a continued revenue stream don't help either. yes i will weep forever...
TLDR: i think the Forehead Poke fits in chapter 699 precisely because it diverges from itachi's. i resent its recurrence suggesting distance from loved ones is an inevitable condition of sasuke's life to which he's stoically acquiescent.
#to expand on sasuke & romance... i've seen people say kishimoto hates ss specifically.because of how he writes minato/kushina for example#well minato is an entirely different guy! and kishimoto is self-professedly weak on the romance front#he has a lot of strengths as a writer but the reversion to tropes and stock archetypes in writing romance is veryyy glaring#sasuke is therefore chronically aloof but also in a mature relationship and it's difficult to believably accomplish both#and of course we have seen sasuke not aloof! we know he's capable! but the romance trope mind virus works in alarming ways#it's also just perceived as way less cool for sasuke to be emotionally expressive towards a woman than a brother(-coded) character#and there's no in-text comparison either. shikamaru is the closest in comportment but he is paired w temari who serves as a tsundere#other than that... i guess there's kakashi (romance aside) but even he deliberately presents as affable#ss in gaiden to me reads less like malicious portrayal & more like. a juvenile take on what sasuke/sakura would be like as grownups#kishi's particularly bad w adult romance because it requires an intimacy i don't think he's entirely comfortable portraying#even in pt 2 ss manages a couple of really authentic touching moments but then as adults i'm like whoooo... are these people....#and above all the entire cast is emotionally and dimensionally neutered in boruto because it sucks. the premise sucks. i don't care for it.#itachi & sasuke#sasusaku#uchiha sasuke#naruto meta#ANYWAYYY thank you for the ask!! it was nice to yap about sasuke & friends again omg i miss them#also sorry this took a week to answer i haven't had much time and wanted to be thorough

I LOVE your analysis on the SasuSaku ask by @escapinggoddity and I was wondering if you could also make an analysis on Naruto Gaiden please because they have some shady moments in there too!
Gosh, where to start with SasuSaku in Naruto Gaiden...
Well firstly let's start with the fact that Sarada confirms to us she has never once met Sasuke since she was a baby. He never stayed around to watch his daughter grow and left as soon as she was born leaving Sakura as a single mother having to look after her daugther and manage the house and bills for years!
Sasuke couldn't even bother to stay for a few years and help Sakura raise Sarada before he dips off and disappears with no letter, and no contact whatsoever! Not once! How is it that these two couple who according to SasuSaku shippers have a healthy and loving marriage end up like this?? A deadbeat father and a single and tired mother! Not to mention the fact that Sakura doesn't have a wedding photo of her or Sasuke?? She has the audacity to take a photo of her with the exact same background with a younger Sasuke wearing an AKATSUKI outfit back when he was a criminal!! WHAT THE HELL SAKURA?! Sakura most likely doesn't want Sarada to know about Sasuke being a criminal yet she has a photo of him wearing a criminal's outfit!! SERIOUSLY??
And then, Sarada asks Sakura an important yet basic question to Sakura, "did dad used to wear glasses?" due to the fact her mom doesn't so maybe her dad does. And this is how Sakura answers:
"I don't think so?" Sakura, really? This is such a basic question with an easy answer and you have seen Sasuke many times to know that he doesn't wear glasses! To SasuSaku fans who say that Sakura knows Sasuke inside out, this is your proof that she doesn't if she can't even answer such a simple question from her daughter! Even Sarada gets a little mad about it too!
And the fact that Sakura admits it's because Sasuke spent so much time away from the village she doesn't remember him that well! Further proves she really knows nothing about her beloved husband!
And when Sarada starts to interrogate Sakura asking her if she really is her mother, Sakura then silences her with violence to intimidate her which honestly in anyone's eyes looks abusive!! Sakura really could've hurt Sarada especially with her monster strength!! This scene absolutely puzzled me so BAD, not to mention her misuse of strength causes her to break her entire home down! Sakura, you need to get your shit together!
I will admits Sarada may have been a little bit harsh on Sakura because clearly you can see how awful she looks here in Gaiden. I mean, look at her, her hair is messy, she has wrinkles, looks tired, and sweats a lot because she has to manage taking care of Sarada, managing the hospital, and doing all the housework must be taking a huge toll on her and I bet you not once Sasuke cares about it!!
Anyways, the huge exhaustion finally catches up to Sakura and she faints. I notice a detail here that Shizune mentions that Sakura has always been prone to fainting which I find as a fib considering we don't see her faint much as a kid, if you ask me that's Hinata's thing when she is around Naruto. So this means that Sakura has developed this condition as she got older and also confirms to us she doesn't keep in contact with Naruto or even Kakashi which means no one was around to help her...
So then Sarada goes back to her ruined home to retrieve something which is a photo of her and her parents, however, she then finds out that this photo was merely a fake and that there is a real photo underneath which is actually, TEAM TAKA???
Not only did Sakura have a "photo" of her and Sasuke back as a criminal but she take her photo and slides it on top of Karin's photo?? Homegirl couldn't bother to photograph the photo, she just slid it on top of Karin's!! Oh. My. God. Sakura!! This just further proves how much of a sham her and Sasuke's marriage is!! Couldn't even bother to take a proper photo of the two of them before the guy left I just can't!!
And now, this raises questions for Sarada who believes that Sakura may not be her real mom because Karin is wearing similiar glasses just like she is! Kishimoto, just what are you doing?!
And keep in mind that Sarada doesn't just believe Sakura isn't her mother because of the glasses, but because Sakura has been unable to answer her questions about her father! It's understandable that she can't tell Sarada that Sasuke was once a criminal but she could've at least told her about his times as a genin, I bet you she didn't tell Sarada anything about that either!
"Our feelings are connected" YEAH RIGHT!
Sarada then begins to ask Shizune, a medic ninja about her birth, who was present, and who delivered her. And Shizune reactions leaves me suspicious because honestly it seems like she is hiding something but can't tell Sarada with how she is fumbling with her words!
It becomes to much for Sarada so she vows to track down Sasuke so she can meet him but also gets answers from him by following Naruto after she finds out he is going to go and meet up with Sasuke.
I want to mention this part here, where Naruto recieves Sasuke's letter from his eagle and even mentions that he and Sasuke meet up every now and then.
And I mentioned earlier that Sasuke not once bothered to send a letter to his family or visit him. So, you are telling me that Sasuke has enough time to send a letter to Naruto and visit him, but has no time to send one to his family or visit them?? And last time I checked the guy can open portals using his rinnegan right??
Something is not adding up here?? I get that Naruto is the Hokage and he needs to talk to him but you can also use that time in the village to see your family you know?? How can that be??
So anyways Naruto ends up allowing Sarada and Cho Cho also tags along also cause she believes her dad isn't her real dad (irrelevant but moving on). Eventually Sarada finally gets to meet her beloved father after years of separation, lovely moment right? NOPE! This is what happens:
Blud nearly kills his only daughter by mistake 🤦🏼♀️. And here I thought it couldn't have gotten any worse, it's already bad enough he almost killed his wife but now his daughter?! And what's worse he almost could've gotten through with it if Sarada didn't yell out "DAAAD!!!" This is just awful and the fact Sarada was able to recognize Sasuke but Sasuke couldn't recognize her is truly heartbreaking 💔. Naruto and Cho Cho show up and Sasuke gets upset at Naruto for bringing kids here and this when Sarada blows up and starts to question Sasuke if Sakura truly is her real mother. Back with Sakura who is talking to Shizune about what Sarada is up to Sakura has a very puzzled expression and clearly is regretting remorse for the miscommunication between her and Sarada.
The weirdest part is when Sarada asks this question everyone looks confused not understanding what Sarada is trying to ask except for Sasuke.
I mean LOOK AT HIS FACE!! Why the hell does he look so uncomfortable by Sarada's question. He's not taking it seriously and he doesn't take Sarada any seriously either and doesn't seem to care about her outburst. Any father would've been feeling sad and comforting their child when they are upset yet Sasuke is just standing there blankly. He doesn't even give Sarada a straight answer, he just asks if something has happened to Sakura and that's it!! My guy, you are hiding something are you??
He than emotionlessly tells Sarada is nothing she should be concerned with and the poor girl runs in distraught by her father's lack of care it's saddening!! and my gosh, Cho Cho just is being a bad friend right now! She isn't running after Sarada and comforting her and just goes, "Oh! That's Sarada's dad, huh?" Naruto is truly the only one who cares about Sarada right now and goes to comfort her because her father can't spare any guts to do that himself!
And may I point out that Sasuke doesn't seem one bit happy to see Sarada at all! He looks uncomfortable around her and doesn't seem to want to do anything with her.
We then have a flashback where Team 7 are having a meeting with the Kage's discussing about Kaguya and the Ototusuki clan still being out there!
Now the funny part here is that Sasuke has left for years because of this important mission he is on and Naruto wants to go with him. Which is very careless of him considering he himself has a family back home just like Sasuke does but wants to ditch them to go with Sasuke alone, suspicious huh?
Not to mention Sakura looks so nervous and starts sweating when Sasuke sarcastically asks Naruto about this "cooperation" that he desired. Even Sakura knows something is up with him and look at Naruto's expression, he looks regretful, of what though?
So then after Naruto comforts Sasuke they have a small quarrel and then end up fighting Shin Uchiha and Sarada and Cho Cho witness first hand how powerful Sasuke is and are in awe. Now, at some point Naruto shields them from Shin who then has Sasuke accidentally stab Naruto and of course both he and Sarada are shocked and horrified by it!
And then Sasuke finally being a good father for once protects his daughter from being stabbed by Shin. Something tells me the reason he did that is because he remembers that just because Sarada is related to Sakura doesn't mean he should be cold to her because she is still his flesh and blood so he acts accordingly. And then Sakura shows up and smashes Shin in the ground.
Now, this is how both Sasuke reacts after seeing his wife after who knows how long.
He looks rather annoyed and is not at all happy to see Sakura at all. He doesn't crack a smile or anything and looks uncomfortable to be around her.
And Sakura, gosh she just looks miserable man. Both her, Sasuke, and Sarada all look miserable. Is this your happy Uchiha family SS fans?? Because it looks the complete opposite! And Sasuke looks like he wants to say something to Sakura and look at her expression, she seems so worried and nervous and even Naruto can tell something is up between them!
Unfortunately we never find out because Shin then kidnaps Sakura, now you would think Sasuke would be a little bit worried considering his wife got kidnapped and while he may not love her, he cares for her right? Nope! This is his reaction:
He doesn't yell out her name out of concern or looks worried at all! He's more concerned about the fact that the enemy is using space time ninjustsu and than his own wife...!
Again wife gone, enemy uses space time ninjustu, and poor Sarada and Naruto are the only ones who care about Sakura.
What I find the most strange about Gaiden is the fact that the theme is about body modifications, clones, genetics, and love and this is mainly Sarada's journey about who she is and her heritage. This panel seems suspicious when Orochimaru is talking about Shin's ability and clones and Sarada asks about them Orochimaru asks if she wants to give it a go and this is Sasuke's reaction:
Very strange, almost like he is hiding something. And then long story short, Sarada ends up finding Sugietsu who does a dna test with Sakura's umbilical cord which Sugietsu thought was Karin's and confirms to Sarada that Karin is her mother which obviously upsets sarada who is lied to. And when Sugietsu tells Naruto about it this is his reaction:
The fact that Naruto believes that Sasuke is capable of cheating is such an ooc move but also goes to show that it further proves that Sasuke and Sakura don't have a loving marriage if Naruto thinks he will cheat on her because he doesn't actually love Sakura if that's the case!
So obviously, Naruto uses his talk no jutsu on Sarada and tells her that she only needs love and blood isn't the only thing that matters and Sarada then flashbacks to all the times Sakura has nursed her back to health and then in this certain scene baby Sarada asks Sakura if she ever kissed dad and look at how Sakura reacts here!
She looks sad, this confirms Sarada's answer that she has never actually kissed Sasuke but then she quicky changes it to a love sick expression most likely so she won't make Sarada upset! She then says that a fore head poke is better than a kiss. Seriously, a forehead poke?? A forehead poke from Sasuke is apparently way better than a kiss from Sasuke himself! Which is ironic considering the fact that the forehead poke is originated from Itachi who himself confirms that the forehead poke was him distancing himself from Sasuke and I bet you Sakura knows that but pokes Sarada's forehead anyway just to feed in her delusions!
Now look at Sarada here, she still looks so worried. She even asks herself what happened between Sasuke and Sakura, how does Sasuke truly feel about her mother because by now even she knows that there is something wrong between her parents but doesn't know what.
They then eventually find Sakura who is nearly beaten by Shin. and everyone and surprisingly even Sasuke goes to see if she is alright and even plucks the knives that were in her arm, but then Sasuke shows indifference to her here again asking if she can heal herself and then just leaving her like that. And look at Sarada's face, she just looks resigned to her father's treatment towards her mother.
I find this rather funny considering Sasuke was concerned as hell when Naruto was stabbed when Naruto is much more stronger than him and Sakura combined but when Sakura gets hurt or kidnapped he doesn't bat an eye. Truly shows you just who he cares about huh?

Sibling Shuffle: Meeting Yourself!
@afellocndn sent in an ask that I had thought about before but wasn’t going to make any drawings or anything about if no one was interested
But since you asked…
"So… you aren’t Copy Robot?"
"No… You aren’t, either?"
"Nuh-uh. …So, uh… what’s it like, uh…where you’re from?"
—————
The Rolls would probably have a lot to talk about. The two would probably end up being friends. Maybe SS!Roll would tell OG!Roll about some adventures she had, and OG!Roll might compare them to her brother’s. So, here’s SS!Roll showing OG!Roll her Megabuster.
"Copy Robot?!"
"Darkman?!"
"…what?"
"…what?"
"…I think we may have one another confused for someone else. I’m DLN-001: Rock Light, AKA Megaman. What about you?"
"…My name is Rock Light. And I’m model number DLN-001..."
"…Uh…Okay… Not the first time I’ve met another me before, haha! Are you from the future?"
"I…don’t think so?"
—————
It’s possible they mistake each other for Copy Robot and Darkman (respectively), but once they realize neither is there for a fight they’d get to talking. Rock is a sweet kid in both universes, but OG!Rock has a slightly different energy about him because he always had his family supporting him. And SS!Rock is a little bit different in terms of his internal systems, so OG!Rock’s attempts at making SS!Rock more comfortable might raise more questions in SS!Rock’s mind - particularly about how he is able to touch him without copying him lol
"…"
"…"
"…And I thought Sniper Joes were bad…"
"…Darkman?"
"How the heck did you reach that conclusion??? Darkman never copied me. I don’t know if he even could’ve."
"…Wait, is this another ‘meet yourself from another universe’ thing?"
"Probably."
—————
If introduced without context, OG!Blues, upon meeting SS!Blues, might also end up pointing a buster at him under the assumption that he was Darkman (which I doubt SS!Blues would’ve taken kindly). Neither are very social, and without anyone willingly leading the conversation I don’t know how they would interact from there. My best guess is that they wouldn’t know what to do with each other either lol
(Also!! Check out @forestlingincorporated’s comic strips. They’re really entertaining!)
Thanks for the ask, @afellocndn!
#sibling shuffle au#mega man au#mega man classic#megaman#my art#Answers#thanks for the ask!#roll light#rock light#blues light#Rolls: instant pals#Rocks: friendly (but SS!Rock is VERY CONFUSED)#Blueses: …#I decided to only do the Light Kids answering this#so if you want to know anyone else’s reactions to their original selves you’ll have to let me know!

Being tired has got me thinking about Sky, and wondering why he's frequently singled out as the sleepy/chronically exhausted one.
Most Zelda games start with Link sleeping, so that's not it. Maybe because he's canonically been called out on it? But I think Navi did the same thing to Time, so probably not that either.
Though I suppose Sky's introduction could have left more of an impression. The limited stamina meter could also be another excuse, but Wild has a stamina meter as well, though his can be upgraded unlike Sky.
Idk, just random thoughts as I'm trying to find the energy to get up and do stuff. This particular one comes around to bug me every now and again.
I do agree that most Zelda games start with Link sleeping, but I think there are some other context things that make everyone peg Sky as the "sleepy one."
Navi does call Time out for sleeping, but this is her first time meeting him, he's a literal child, and she's in a hurry because the Deku Tree sent her. Meanwhile, Sky's friends all tease him for this being a consistent issue of his, the lady who makes meals for the knight students literally says Link slept in too late for breakfast (LOL SO RELATABLE), and he's called "sleepyhead" by Zelda.
The stamina meter definitely plays into it as well, especially since it drains so easily. Wild's can be improved, and it starts at Sky's highest stamina point, while it's implied Wild is starting out pretty weak from the Shrine. Though, I will say, Sky can hold his breath for a long time, and he swims quite well without tiring. I know that's a game mechanic, but so is the stamina wheel, and swimming takes a lot of energy - Wild can drown from stamina loss, whereas any other Link who can swim does not have that problem. Again, this is likely just Nintendo trying to both be a bit more realistic and also give some limitations/challenges for the game, but still, Sky does technically win in that category.
But another context clue for Sky is his idle animation. He's the only Link that I know of who just immediately starts falling asleep when he sits down LOL. It's hilarious and adorable. But also, the theme of his game is kind of intertwined with his "laziness" as well - he's a chill, laid back guy, and because of this he's pegged as being too slow by Impa when Zelda almost gets killed (Impa, Link was fighting a lava rock monster ok?? YOU SNUCK BY IT.), and after that point Link is nonstop running and trying to chase her down. At the end of the game, Ghirahim laments and snaps that Link's too quick for his own good, which is such a payoff. But the point of my rambling about this is that he sleeps the instant he sits down, and honestly, it probably only gets worse as he wrecks himself to keep up during his adventure.
Here's to hoping you can get some more stamina than Sky and feel a little better <3 Sucks being so exhausted
