Picture if you will, a Shen Yuan who upon entering the world of PIDW, decides he must focus on his martial skills to train Binghe to better survive the abyss. No cultivation, no qi, pure fists. He absolutely hates it at first but his adorable disciples say he looks cool and the praise is going to his head. When the Bai Zhan kids come looking for trouble, he fucking suplexes one.
When it comes time for seclusion in the caves, he handily subdues and and helps a deviating Liu Qingge. LQG doesn’t remember the fight after the fact, and does not believe that SQQ of all people could beat him hand to hand, regardless of what the gossip on the peaks is. He challenges SQQ to a spar- no weapons, no time limit, no mercy.
The peaks are freaking out. The war god vs Qing Jing’s brawler? SQQ has never beaten LQG in the past but he’s so different now, who knows what will happen!
A crowd gathers around the training field. SQQ and LQG stand in the middle of it, dressed down for a fight. When the bout begins, it’s hard to make either man’s movements- both are going too fast to see! As the fighters begin to slow, the moves becoming clearer… that can’t be right… SQQ is pushing the war god back?!
LQG can’t believe it. Not only is SQQ not resorting to tricks, he also keeps flashing this stunning sincere smile which MUST be some sort of special technique.
A combination grin and sweep to the leg and the war god goes down! SQQ is straddling him, forearm against his neck, panting hard. LQG is tomatoe red- definitely from the exertion and NOTHING ELSE.
The crowd erupts- some cheering, most shouting in confusion. SQQ gets up, offering LQG and hand and clapping him on the shoulder. ‘Nice fight!’ He says, as true as the sun rises in the east with his eyes in happy crescents, sweat on his brow, pink dusting his cheeks.
LQG qi deviates right there on the field.

KCD2 is so fun but I'm so bad at the combat. I've literally spent most of the game so far (I just finished the wedding quest) just avoiding solo melee combat altogether 🥲 if the game forces me to fight at any point going forward, I'm fucked.

i tried to make ivan from memory in the dragons dogma 2 character creator
#my god my dude oh my man the character creator is such a good step up from the original game#and that was already one of my favorites#the body customization for real yall i mean the original was top notch already#from the looks of it even before gameplay was out from youtubers who got previews and stuff#it looks like they just didn't change too much up which is good cause don't mess with a good system#i look forward to running out of stamina whilst clinging to something that flies and laughing the entire fall to my death#im so excited#and i hope it;s good#also the cat people the presets are so funny#they're either like peak lil guy or sad old saggy man and it's so fun#hope there's a beloved system again#look forward to the random merchant you buy from the most being your soul mate#literally everything else in the world

#darktalks#well i fucking got what i wanted. huh. that sure was a modular armor system#overall i liked it a bunch! kassandra is very fun as a character#i liked the mystery of the cult and i really enjoyed the friendship dynamic with barnabas and herodotos. coupla pals goin on a ship#Speaking of! i liked the adrestia. i liked sailing around and i liked ship battles#i think it's because it's scaled back in comparison to Those Other 3 in terms of weaponry and addons and what have you#so it didn't feel like if i was falling behind if i wasn't dedicating ALL of my resources to the ship all the time idk#the maps id say were right on the border of excessively bighuge but i liked how varied the scenery was#not just between greece and the dlc2 areas but between different regions of greece#and the mythical beast/monster encounters were a nice level of challenging that broke up the monotony of fighting other humans#more on the story i like how personal they've made the plots of orig and odys. it really gets you feeling for the protags right away#it's something that also happened with ezio and connor for example. but syndicate and black flag (especially black flag) are kinda lol lmao#even still in AC2 the motive was ''hunting assassins'' not ''hunting YOU specifically'' so to some degree it was still impersonal#it was cool seeing darius in action but dlc1 parts 1 and 2 felt a bit more eh to me#i think it was just because fast travel in makedonia and achaia was a bit of a pain#dlc2-1 also felt a bit overlong because of how many factions you're helping. 2-2 by comparison is super short (but sweet).#2-3 made me want to kill aita all over again. i have mixed feelings on the isu :thumbsup: Aletheia can hang#this is not the games' fault of course but after Hades (game) seeing all these ''gods'' just look like taller humans is a bit of a flop#(let's not get on how much of an idiot they made hermes of all people)#the further rpgfication of equipment and abilities felt like a chore. what the fuck do you mean ''+17% assassin damage''. be serious.#from what ive heard that's something very much still present in valhalla BUT ALSO there's a stamina bar?????? wherefore dost thou do this.#i will say i missed having an animus database. which was also missing in origins? like ik there's the discovery tour but it's Not the same.#i liked the RW segments well enough. something something blonde woman and protagonist with isu artifact smth smth two nickels#kind of a flop moment to not finish off the literal Biggest Problem for the assassins when you had the chance Layla :/#to valhalla we go

Well my body sure did take the adage “if you don’t schedule time for rest then your body will do it for you whether it’s convenient or not” to heart with a vengeance. (I’m sure I butchered the saying but whatever)
#🎃 Cryptid Sighting#Dizzy as fuck rn so there’s no way I’m going in to move & operate big heavy & dangerous equipment tonight#I had the feeling I was going down this road - I was already exhausted after day 4 (which- given it’s part time- should be the max workweek#But day 5 yesterday was spent feeling like all system collapse lol. It’s why I won’t take a full time position here. Too brutal#Like- I have the stamina & strength of an ox up to a certain point#But past that point of justified exhaustion & it’s catastrophic failure. Whole body gangs up on me & starts violently falling apart#I’ve said it before but I don’t know when to chill or regulate effort. I push myself at full capacity until I mentally/physically burnout#So if I don’t have to go in for jury duty tomorrow I’ll finally have time to relax & rest a little!#So yippee I guess?#Ok back to bed
