tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow gives rise to a potentially hilarious dynamic between prime kirk, la’an and spock. we have not-yet-developed spirk “you almost make me believe in miracles” vs. only-exists-in-another-timeline la’an/kirk "my earth has sunsets”. 

spock dies if kirk doesn’t become captain. la’an saw kirk die in front of her and can’t talk about it. jim is a hopeless romantic. this is going to be a MESS and i for one cannot wait to see how it pans out.

Finally watched the Strange New Worlds episode set in my hometown, and I loved all the Toronto locations and references (yes, I have eaten poutine at the Lakeview, and there's a shot where you can see Spouse's office). I know I definitely won't look at the Royal Conservatory of Music (or, as @markcampbells put it, "more like the Royal Khanservatory of Music”) the same again.

I'm sure everyone's already noticed this easter egg, but:

Major props to the person who put in the JT22 K33 (or JTK 2233) license plate for Jim's initials and birth year (that's not the normal format of Ontario license plates, anyway...clearly a different timeline).

Lost In Translation SLAPPED

jim & uhura instant friendship? trauma bonding? cookies? hell yeah. 

i am SOLD on wesley!jim and loved seeing more of the kirk brothers. i can totally see this sam ending up not in the fleet in Operation: Annihilate. i can definitely see this jim evolving into the guy we know and love from tos.

also, jim’s first meetings with the crew were literally perfect. specifically spock. finishing each other’s sentences from the word go we love that.

plus HEMMER. I MISS HIM.

in conclusion, charades was meh but this MORE than made up for it imo

I’m so impressed when people can have well structured thoughts about new Star Trek episodes and can make conclusions based on them. Unless the episode is like. Verifiably awful and impossible to get through, there is no medium good or medium bad Star Trek. I watch a Star Trek and my follow up emotion is I WATCHED STAR TREK 🥰🥰🥰🥰
