It's probably bad that Knightfall (and R/WBY by extension) all touch on figures of childhood fascination to me (Cinderella and the Wizard of Oz in particular). Like this is kind of psychoanalytic but if it turns out terribly, how am I supposed to run from it lol

I never had any attachment to the Starses Warses before I watched the Despecialised Edition of the OT and then the ST at the behest of a friend at the time lol. Easy to not care very much. (Naturally leads to the implication that 'you only like Reylo because you don't get SW', but in my experience it doesn't really matter how much familiarity you have with this type of thing, guys who wanna gatekeep will gatekeep. Even when they themselves are incorrect about the canonical property in question. Especially so).

Thankfully Oz crops up in a lot of shit, actually. Even The Avery Cates series.

I personally think it's less a nostalgia thing (I tend to... not like nostalgiabait) but really the truth of it that there are certain things which unconsciously arrest you, even very young. (I think people tend to conceive of their childhood selves as both separate selves, and distant selves, as opposed to one ongoing gestalt). I like whimsy.

...I may not be as “okay” as I thought.

I miss her. That’s all. I still miss her. I always do; I was just reminded how MUCH last night.

I watched my (BD) mournful media debut with my roommate and we talked a little bit, shared stories, shared thoughts, they shared comics and silly things. I think they were trying to cheer me up.

It somewhat worked.

But when I went to bed, I lay down... sprawled out on my back and staring at my ceiling, not seeing it, but Feeling Immensely.

I don’t know when I started crying, but I shed a tear or two.

It caught me off-guard. I’m supposed to be OKAY now, aren’t I? I’m supposed to have healed by now, aren’t I? I’m supposed to be more than that grief now, right? I was. I was okay; I was healed; I was more. But it came back.

I was awake longer than I meant to be. I fell asleep, eventually... I thought to myself this morning. when I woke up still saddened, “It’s okay for it to hurt still.” But it’s still somewhat disappointing. Unsettling. It HURTS.

And maybe I neared crying at some point today. But I was able to be distracted. It wasn’t the all-consuming, crushing, obsessive, self-flagellating GRIEF that it was five or six years ago. It was... manageable. But it was still THERE.

I miss her.

And I mourn everything I ever felt that I didn’t tell her, every laugh we ever shared, every moment of growth and love she didn’t get to see. I mourn how much better we could have loved her now, but will never be able to because she’s gone.

I respect her choices and I’m proud of her, but gods, I miss her.

I found a new song that reminds me of her, in that it could’ve been her singing to us. (Never Enough by Tarj/a. “I don’t belong. There's no going back,what we used to be...” “Never enough, no, never enough. I gave it all, you still want more...” And of course, “My endless laughter...”)

I thought about her to a Starse|t song, too, a week or two ago. Ricochet. I started thinking about it from my perspective, of course, but after a couple verses, I realized it was really more form HER perspective.

“You’d hang on every word I say, but now they only ricochet.” “But when I send my heart your way, it bounces off the wall you’ve made.” “I was trying just to get you, and now I’m dying to forget you.” “All these broken souls, each one more beautiful, they don’t, they don’t know my heart... I don’t know. I’ve been thinking about her all day, and doing my best not to get lost in it. At least I can say I’m not lost in the pain.

It’s just Difficult to reconcile Who I Am Now with Who I Was When The Time With Her Mattered Most.

I told myself, all those millennia, I HAD to mourn her, I had to feel bad, she deserved to be mourned and I deserved to hurt, I earned it, I wasn’t able to protect her and so why should I ever feel happy again? But now I’m telling myself, I don’t have to anymore, and it feels like that’s cheating. 

I think part of the reason it’s hitting so hard is because I’ve been getting more in touch with my emotions over the past 5+ years, and though I had CLOSURE before... I don’t know that I ever properly processed the grief. Just carried on with it, and eventually distracted myself enough to forget about it.

I do feel better about it than I did at that time. I do feel like I can carry on much more easily than I did before, even with the weight of it.

But before, my human body didn’t know how to cry.

Maybe it’s about time I shed a tear in this life.

And maybe it’s about time I learn how to laugh again, not despite it, but WITHIN it.

NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) has been busy. Clocking in over 5000 exoplanet candidates, the researchers who manage the telescope’s data have enlisted an army of volunteer classifiers to sift through its data to confirm whether these planets exist. In a new paper in Astronomy & Astrophysics, some researchers from Brazil think they have found three planets that almost certainly do – and they happen to orbit stars that are very similar to our own Sun. The planets were located in two separate star systems, known as TOI-2141 and TOI-1736, respectively. TOI-2141 is located about 250 light years away; while it is slightly older than our Sun, it’s almost exactly the same size. TOI-173 is 290 lightyears away and about the same age and temperature as our Sun. However, it is slightly larger and has more heavy elements, which could significantly impact the formation of planets. It’s also a binary star system, which we will get into later. There are several categories that exoplanets are slotted into. The planetary candidates in TOI-2141 and TOI-1736 fall into two distinct ones – “Super-Jupiters” and “mini-Neptunes,” since many of the categories use planets in our home system as a basis.  Fraser discusses TESS’s mission and what was discovered during it – though new discoveries are still happening from its data all the time. TOI-2141 contains only one planet – a mini-Neptune named TOI-2141b. Its surface temperature is 450 degrees Celsius, and its orbital period of a little more than 18 days means it’s likely tidally locked to its parent star. It’s about three times Earth’s surface diameter, weighs in at a whopping 24 times our planet’s mass, and appears to have a rocky core with an atmosphere potentially filled with gaseous water. It also seems to be the only planet in the system, at least as far as we can tell, with the limited observational time devoted to it. TOI-1736 is a much more chaotic system. The researchers found two planets in the system, around the larger of the two stars in the binary pair. Both planets were found to be close enough to their host star that interaction from its binary companion was minimal, which, if it wasn’t, could massively complicate the planet’s orbits.  One planet, known as TOI-1736b, is also classified as a mini-Neptune, with a diameter two and a half times that of Earth and a mass about 13 times as large. It’s closer to its parent star than TOI-2141b, orbiting every 7.1 days. That also means it’s hotter, with an expected surface temperature of up to 800 degrees Celsius.  TESS has captured the imagination of many a planet-hunter. Its neighboring planet, TOI-1736c, is absolutely massive. A “super-Jupiter” is nine times larger than Jupiter itself, making it large enough to have almost become a star in its own right. However, it didn’t and ended up in the habitable zone of TOI-1736. While the planet is a gas giant and doesn’t have any solid surface to stand on, it presumably has a series of moons, much like Jupiter. One of those could potentially sport liquid water on its surface. There’s also a third potential planet in the TOI-1736 system, but observations with TESS and a 1.93m telescope at the Observatoire de Haute-Provence didn’t last long enough to be able to confirm it. More data is needed, especially in exoplanet hunting, as with most science-related things. There will undoubtedly be plenty more coming from both TESS and other sources shortly. Capts Log No.40_ SoulGlooooo

This month so much has happened in short amount of time I must say! We have been hard at work planning and preparing for the Juneteenth Jam Fest this month which has been going quite well because we are just going with the flow and letting things plug in where they fit in. Gigi and I work really well together because we are both intuitive, but also we are super sensitive and reflect off one another because we’re so similar and so different at the same time. I am absolutely grateful for our relationship and the way its growing and shifting. Its unlike any I have ever had before, and that’s refreshing!

Shes really a maternal mentor for me on the grid now. I look up to her and admire her strength, compassion and realness! And she knows how to RUN THINGS, OKAY! I am blessed with such amazing parents on the grid! Real. I think one thing that is important for anyone seeking parents on SL to remember is that everyone has RL that , for a balance person, must remain the priority in ones life. That being said, it’s unfair, really for anyone to expect someone to always be available to you to RP or play the role that you are expecting from them. I think its important to be clear about what your mental health capacity is and what you are going through personally, the more vulnerable you can be the closer you can become to people and connect and be able to trust that they wont leave you hanging or abandon you. Use your intuition and take your time. I never thought to myself that “I want SL parents” but I did intend to find family. I thought it would be with Wav, us being parents and building that way. But source had another experience in store for me on the grid I never thought would happen for me!

So yea we been getting all the details ready for Juneteenth Jam and people have already begun to set up their vending booths! Its dope af to me, I really am praying this event will plant seeds of unity and engagement amongst like minds and good people on the grid. No drama, no inner wound triggers or illusions of division keeping us from sharing and enjoying the fact that we are more alike than different amongst the afro-indigenous diaspora. (I started rambling so I cut that half out and moved it to the end of this blog post, I am just like my pops we can go on and on about the movement and why its important lmao) The point I was saying is Juneteenth will be litty! Plain and simple, gunna be so much fun! We’re gunna have dancers, mystory foods, art, and even have H.E.R performing! All are welcome it will be on the Meroe Museum campus.

I was happy to finally get back into editing and filming things. I am excited to I continue doing more and exploring whatever ideas my mind whats to express.

This oast week i discovered the oldest structure in SL, its called “The Man” on Philips Hill http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Natoma/59/209/45 (here goes the rest of my diaspora unification rant ) We all share so much and the more we can work together and show unity in all ways of life the more we can generate the healing we need for our people. Through example. Even if its just RPing what our utopian societies would look like, or just RPing living together in unity haha simple things have big impact. Makes one think “how can I replicate this experience in my day to day?” Thats why I love the way SL is advancing, giving POC creators more visibility and making more initiative to have people make connections again, which to me was the core beauty of SL, how connections can be made! [end rant]

I applied and got into the new Mentor program with SL and thats the vibes that my app was giving haha,and its real. 12 years on the grid I experienced quite a bit. XD I find these places my OG way just exploring on the map and I thought to myself, of course I run into these places. SL is an extension of the spiritual journey it is like reflection of the astral plane in a digital landscape.

Starsing Shinning | Presenting my mlp oc!

Hii! it's me again! I Just wanted to present my MLP OC properly! His name is Starsing shining, He's the prince of a unknow species, he tries to take care of his town. He has a little brother.

Their species is not so well known, but from what is known, they feed on negative emotions to turn them into positive ones. This would explain a little of why Starsing looks so… pink. they're a kind of "changelings" (if you wanna look it that way) prefering to have a 'nicer' appearence.

besides, they don't have a very specific appearance. It always tends to vary a little depending on what emotion they consume.

In his backstory, he will try to stop King Sombra. (this goes a little 'wrong' because he ends falling in love with him, lol) probably going to post about their lore in a few comics. (wanna make a "ask" Starsing but im still not sure......)
