First off, I'm really sorry about everything that's been happening around your blog. This AU has been such a huge source of comfort for me in my everyday life, and it pains me to see jerks with nothing better to do than to ruin the happiness of others affect this blog so much. However, on a different note, if you would be so kind as to let me tell you about a daydream I had about your AU, that would be just the most!

So, I was revisiting some old fandoms of mine, and I suppose those began mixing with the ESAU at some point. You know the song "Drift Away" from Steven Universe? I was thinking about how sad it was when the ESAU popped into my mind and OH BOY. I thought about this little scenario! (I apologize for the poor writing):

One of the many Master reincarnations that stuck with Macaque was the long gone Master *Gertrude. It wasn't because she led an interesting life or had special affections for him, but rather that she abandoned him. Fed up with him for being the most affectionate and always in her space, she brought him out into a field. Alone. She smiled and hugged him, something Macaque couldn't have recalled her ever doing towards him in the past, before telling him to stand still in the open field and not to move until she came back. Macaque had wanted to ask her questions about where she was going when she gave him her next and final command, to not ask her questions. With that, she left, and Macaque sensed a feeling of strong joy coming from her and, well, if his Master was happy, than he was overjoyed! And so he waited. Minutes passed by, then hours, then days and a week. And before Macaque knew it, months had gone by, follows by years. Years of standing and waiting for his Master to come back with him, with nothing but the occasional bird or rabbit passing by, which he would snatch up and eat to feed himself and keep himself busy. But Macaque couldn't understand the situation, couldn't understand why any of this was happening, until one day when he saw the other champions coming his way. By this point, the grass in the field was overgrown and the flowers had withered. A few vines reached around Macaque, keeping him planted down to the Earth, as if it was reclaiming him. His fur was filthy and unkempt and he had dark circles around his eyes because it was hard to sleep standing up, in the open, alone. Macaque had watched as his brother and the other champions approached him, Wukong coming forward in swift strides to help pull off the greenery growing on him and hugged him tightly. Macaque... felt like crying although he could hardly understand why.

"Master is dead." Wukong had spoken with his usual monotone voice, but it cracked. Hearing his brother's voice crack broke Macaque and he hugged him back, feeling warm tears running down his face and he asked the question that had been racking his mind for decades.

"Why did Master never come back for me?" Wukong couldn't answer, no one could bare to tell him except for Mink.

"Master got rid of you because they didn't like you. But don't yell at us for never looking for you, because she specifically requested that we didn't and so here we are."

Macaque remembers how he broke down right there, tired after years of standing there with sleepless nights and little to eat or do. He remembers vowing to never trust their Master so blindly again, reminding himself to keep all the qualities Master Gertrude found annoying to a minimum. Macaque won't make the same upsetting mistake twice.

*I'm really sorry if this is the name of any one who might be reading this, I mean no offense! I just looked for a name that isn't frequently used in the modern day and that's what came up

I don't know, maybe I'll write a fanfiction with the next reincarnated Reader comforting Macaque after all this trauma of abandonment, poor baby boy... An AU of an AU, how thrilling!

This could work with any of the champions, in my opinion, because, I think, that if their Master wills it, no matter how harmful it is, they would just instinctually oblige. I only used Macaque because, if this happened to him, I would just break down crying and hug him till I die! Anyways, I hope you liked this, Emelin, and please please please give me validation! Thank you, you're the best!

OOOOOO i love this omg- THE ANGST- THE AAANGSSST- I also love the moment of Wukong's voice crack- it's literally lil moments like this where he shows vulnerability and emotions- fhgnfhgnfhg

But how dare that Master not like Macaque's affection and just abandon him?? HE'S THE MOST WHOLESOME OF THEM ALL- If we ignore the more murderous side of him of course- BUT HE'S SO FLUFFY TOWARDS HIS MASTER AND DESERVES THE BEST FLUFF IN RETURN- HDSFNDSHFNHDSFHNHDSNHSD

Like- this is so in-character for them though- Especially between the monkey bros since Macaque is usually so eager and happy about completing a task to make his Master happy- hgfnhgnfghf the feels of potential heavy angst, man- Gotta love it-

Hi I saw the match up event recently but I gotta ask who would be a perfect match for me?

I’m a female and I’m not sure about my sexuality at the moment since I’m a bit confused what gender I am interested in but I don’t mind who it is, as long I’m given love and affection, then I won’t mind who it is.

About me, I’m an ambiverted female since i tend to be very shy at first and a little awkward, since I can’t keep up an conversation but there are times I will try and be social and talk to others while I’m trying not to be embarrassed or anything, but once I open up I’m very talkative and kind, i usually put my friends/family/loved ones first and then me most of the time, I don’t really get upset as often but I know deep inside I know I’m hurt since I tend to bottle everything up in short terms, I tend to mask it all with a bright and kind personality, I don’t know how to say no to others but I’m slowly learning and healing myself, but overall I’m very kind to others who respects my boundaries but overall I’m a kind hearted person, and I’m a very comforting person too, I’m basically an uncertified counselor too and not to mention I’m somewhat motherly to my friends since I always worry about them if they ate or something is wrong with them but I also get insecure most of the time because I feel like I’m not good enough or anything, I’m my friend group, I’m the mom friend who worries about their well-being or giving them mom advice (I’m not a mom because I’m single) but also I’m a hopeless romantic and I’m very delusional at times (kinda like mitsuri in a way😭😭) but I’m not a mean person in general!!

And another thing about me is I’m not very smart in a way since my ADHD and possible dislexia

but as for my style and appearance I’m a bit skinny and chubby with a curvey figure with a few small or medium belly rolls and skin marks too but I like to wear sweaters with zippers and a tight crop top tang too with spaghetti straps or thick ones and playboy bunny sweatpants because I find them comfortable since I have a big butt😭, and I like to wear my moccasins (slippers in indigenous culture, since I’m Canadian) but overall I don’t mind what clothes I’m wearing as long I’m comfortable

My main interest is listening to music that comforts me, I listen to Frank Sinatra or Songs from adventure time like everything stays or drift away from Steven universe since it kinda relates to me in away too, I love drawing and creating things like knitting or painting sunsets or landscapes!

And lastly for my main love languages, they are physically touch and Quality time, I’m very touch starved and quality starved too, I love being hugged a lot or even being near someone makes me happy, and maybe gift giving since I like giving people gifts but I sometimes like receiving gifts because I feel bad that people spend money on me either it’s expensive or not but I do like receiving small things that were crafted!! I like reassurance the most since I feel comforted when I’m sad or feeling lonely but also I have a hard time for asking for help in any situation

Not sure if anyone has said this yet, but I feel like “Drift Away” from Steven Universe is very similar to Shad and Irene.

For example:

“And then she smiled, that's what I'm after. A smile in her eyes, the sound of her laughter”

In a flashback, we see Esmund say he will use the relic to protect the people, while Shad explains he’s doing it because he’d do anything for Irene.

“Happy to listen. Happy to play. Happily watching her drift away.”

When Irene started to lose her emotions, and drift herself away from Shad.

“Happily waiting. All on my own. Under the endless sky. Counting the seconds, standing alone. As thousands of years go by”

After Shad’s physical form is destroyed, he’s stuck in the Nether dimension, not knowing what came of Irene.

“You keep on turning pages, for people who don't care. People who don't care about you”

I feel like this could be interpreted in two different ways. Maybe this could be Shad’s thinking towards Irene; he’s upset with her for constantly choosing giving more of herself away for people who she doesn’t even know, people who he believes is just using her. Or it could be for Shad’s feelings towards the other Divine Warriors as tensions start to rise between them.

“And still it takes you ages. To see that no one's there. See that no one's there. See that no one's there. Everyone's gone on without you.”

When the Divine Warriors choose Irene’s side without knowing why Shad has turned against her. (which is finding out she turned their daughter into a relic) They move on, while he’s stuck in the Nether.

“Finally something. Finally news. About how the story ends. She doesn't exist now. Survived by her son (reincarnation? Part of her soul?) And all of her brand new friends.”

Shad finding out about Aphmau.

Drift away”

Shad’s anger that Irene gets to live on with a fresh start as Aphmau. He has to carry the memories of their life together, while she gets to forget, which he sees as cruel. He’s angry that this is where happily following Irene had gotten him. He feels foolish for ever having trusted her.

I can’t really remember what is canon and what is my own interpretation, but I hope this all made sense lol. I think another song that fits is “The Exit” by Conan Gray, however only a few select lyrics.

My URL = one of my WOL's name because I am so very creative haha.

This was HARD, but uhhh I made it hard on myself. I approached this a little differently from the description above and built a "soundtrack" based on Keilah's story. I had several criteria for picking songs here:

Can't pick two songs from the same band or source.

The lyrics of the song, if any, have to be relevant to Keilah's personality or life somehow.

The overall vibe of the song has to fit Keilah.

No FFXIV OST, that would be too easy (but other FF titles were fair game... even though none of them made the cut, lul).

I think the criteria worked, because I was able to fish around in my library and memory for a collection of songs that I think represents Keilah well in many different ways! (Plus, new story brainworms moved in how about that??)

If you decide to do this challenge, I encourage you to find a fun way to represent your muse that makes sense for you! Song titles, songs from OSTs only, whatever :)

Okay, so I have feelings! Basically! We were talking about how Marinette came to be the Guardian, which led me to have to refresh my memory. And it's kinda fucked up, that the only reason why Chloé even joined HM, was because he kinda sort spit some facts.

Because tbh, what has LB done for Chloé. Not a damn thing. Which would be fine, because she doesn't owe her anything, of course. BUT, she does treat her like shit. As she would if she were Marinette. Which is like, you gotta keep your hero beef and civilian beef separated, girl. Anyway, besides being hated by virtually every person in Paris, the one person she looks up to, couldn't give two shits about her.

And you know what? That fucking sucks! To have literally no one! So yeah, fuck it. Let the world burn. [Also no, this is Marinette salt or bashing nor is it salt or bashing against any other character. It's just straight facts.]

Hi Hello it's midnight for me and I just finished watching Steven Universe and the movie (I haven't watched Future yet- gonna do that this weekend) so now I have thoughts

Spoilers for Steven Universe below the cut!

First of all: I'm kicking myself repeatedly for waiting so long to watch it cause HOLY- 😭🥰 IT WAS SO GOOD!!! I wasn't sure I was gonna be into shows like this (Wasn't massively into Adventure Time- don't get me wrong, it was cute as hell and funny but just kinda..eh?) But I finally gave it a shot and WOW!

My favorite gem is still Garnet; I just- I adore her. She's wise, funny, the whole Sapphire and Ruby ship is so cute ("They were my favorite couple!"- Bismuth my blacksmith queen) and just-GAH! I love how excited she got over fusions and just how lovely she is all around!

My second favorite is Peridot. I loved her- she is the cutest little green dorito EVA! The way she speaks, her mannerisms, her dynamic with Lapis (Who admittedly I still have mixed feelings on but generally I enjoy her alot)- it was all so freaking kfakjerakjkjrakjerkjekjr I can't get over how cute she is HELP!

Really- I found myself loving all the characters! Pearl is cute as heck, Amethyst is an icon (I loved that scene where she refused to put all her problems onto Steven and recognized he had so much on his plate already- it was truly such a growth moment and I'm beyond proud of her. Plus- Smokey Quartz is an icon), and STEVEN! He's a doll! I adore him so much!

As for Beach City- I don't think I have a non-favorite. Everyone is so charming and silly; and even when they were at their worst they managed to bring it back around. Lars becoming a space pirate and Sadie becoming a rockstar- the grandmother becoming mayor and Ronaldo being..well, Ronaldo; it was all so good! I really do love Greg aswell; that Comet song will be forever stuck in my head. Oh! And Connie! I adore Connie!

As for the movie....eh? Don't get me wrong, it was great- and I really like Spinel; but all the endless songs started to get a little much after a while 😅 There was some great ones like Garnet's return song True Love and Steven's Change song- and of course Other Friends and Drift Away are absolutely incredible. It was a good mix of great songs and....kinda meh songs but still incredibly pleasant to listen to. I had a great time. (I also really liked Happily Ever After but I think I prefer Natewantstobattle's version; the rock cover really gives it that extra oomph!)

The DIAMONDS! I kinda don't know how to feel about Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond. I get why she did what she did; it was clear as glass the home life she was living wasn't good to her- but the way she did it certainly wasn't the cleanest. I like how complex her situation is and how Steven navigated it. I also like how the diamonds were presented- not good gems but complex enough that they're enjoyable. (Not to be bisexual on tumblr but Yellow Diamond....👀)

Overall this was a great time all around! I don't know what I'm gonna watch next (post future), my sister and I are thinking either Owl House or Amphibia, but y'all are welcome to leave suggestions! This was a much needed comfort experience during an admittedly crappy time.

(Also I'm almost done with Season 2 of Vinland Saga and y'all it's absolutely incredible but so freaking SAD- ooooo, I got feelings but I'll share them all when I finish the last four episodes)

This is your gentle reminder to sit down and indulge yourself in something comforting! Especially if things are being tough right now- you deserve to treat yourself :)

“Rose?” Greg called into the ether of the temple his girlfriend lived in. “We need to get moving, are you ready to go?” 

He heard a bang through the door that he knew led to the Gems’ bedrooms, and two voices shouting. The door whirred open, the sound not quite mechanical, not quite magical, and Rose stood in the doorway, a smile on her face but something tense in her eyes. Greg could see Pearl standing slightly behind her, her eyebrows creased and her mouth turned into a small but obvious frown. He dismissed it - Pearl was almost always morose whenever he and Rose went off together. 

“You ready to go, honey?” Greg reached a hand out to his very pregnant girlfriend and smiled, though not before swallowing tensely when his gaze drifted past her stomach. 

The tension in the gem’s eyes faded as she smiled even wider. “I think so? Am I missing anything?” She patted her hands on her dress, curls bouncing as she mentally searched for anything she might have forgotten. 

“Shoes?” Greg asked, glancing downwards. “You need shoes, babe. It’s usually pretty…” he searched for a word that wasn’t too harsh. “disrespectful to go places barefoot.” 

Rose flushed and tried to look down at her feet, only to be blocked by her bump. “Oh, right! I find it difficult to remember when I can’t even see it! I’ll go get a pair.” She jogged back into her room, the door whirring shut behind her. 

Pearl was still leaning against the door, her eyes fixed on the floor. “Universe.” She said, not looking up. Greg glanced at her. The gem winced when his eyes met her hair. She raised her gaze to look at him. “Just… make her happy.” A shaky breath came out of her thin form, and her eyes had the wet sheen of tears. “She’s so close. She should get to be happy when…” Pearl trailed off, eyes drifting back to the floor. “Well, you know when.”  

Greg nodded, a lump rising in his throat. He opened and shut his mouth before walking over to the gem and placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. Pearl’s muscles relaxed, if only for a moment, before she sighed, pulled away, and retreated to her room, her back to Greg as she raised her hand to brush a stray tear from her eyes.

Rose knew when she woke up that morning that she was close to her due date, her future child’s birthday, the day she will cease to exist. Some ancient death bell had begun to toll inside of her, presumably to give her time to alert her superior and to get her affairs in order. She hadn’t planned on telling the rest of the Crystal Gems, having made up her mind to live out her last days as normal, so that they didn’t have to grieve until she was dead. Her plans were foiled when Garnet burst into her room, behavior that Rose rarely saw from the levelheaded gem, tears slipping from her eyes and hand on her hair. She took a shaky breath and removed her shades. “Rose, you’re-“

Rose put a finger to the fusion’s lips, and smiled softly. “Don’t tell me when. I don’t want to know.” Garnet nodded, slowly regaining her composure. “Tell the others-“ Rose faltered, gazing past her doorway into the temple. “Tell them they’re going to meet Steven soon. They’ll know what comes with that.” 

Garnet wiped her tears and put her shades back on. “We’ll take care of him.”

“I know.”

The cassette clicked into its slot and Greg grinned. “This is Kerry Moonbeam,” He kept one hand on the wheel and glanced at Rose, his voice slightly raised so she could hear him over the music, wind, and AC. He’d rolled the windows all the way down, savoring the feeling of the cool summer breeze tousling his hair. “This guy is where I got my name from. This song, actually!” 

Rose smiled at him, hands resting on her stomach. “He inspired you to do music?”

“Not quite. I always wanted to do music. He inspired me to stick it to my parents and get on the road.” Greg upped the volume on the dial and started humming along with it, tapping his fingers against the wheel and resting his hand on the back of Rose’s seat.

“I can tell you’re excited to see him,” Rose took his hand, rubbing her thumb along the back of it. “I’m glad that you wanted me to be here with you when you did it.”

“Well of course I’d want you to be there! I want to experience this with you! I love you!” Greg said, putting on his right blinker and making a turn. “I want to do everything I can with you.”

Rose’s eyebrows furrowed, and her thumb slowed. “I know this is hard for you.” She said. Even though Greg’s eyes were on the road, he could feel the intensity of the stare that she was fixing him with. “But we’ve made our choices. I’ve made my choices. And now… I don’t think I would undo any of them. We’ve done all we can. Now, my task is to enjoy the time we have. And to fill my heart with happy memories until our son is here and he can make his own.” She squeezed his hand. “So let’s have fun. Let’s try to forget about this for now. I know it hurts you to think about.”

Greg nodded, a single tear sneaking out of his right eye. He heard a whisper of a laugh as Rose brushed it off, her touch feather-light. He caught her hand and brought it to his lips, gaze still on the road. He kissed it and held it to his face for a while, trying to imprint the feeling of it into his memory. The tape had stopped playing. The only sounds in the van were the wind and their breathing, and the occasional click of the turn signal. 

Greg sat in the silence, turning it and his thoughts over in this mind. He pulled over and sighed, slumping in his seat and looking over at the woman in the front seat. “I can’t do this,” he said. Rose said nothing, sensing that he had more to add. He exhaled again, rubbing a hand over his face, wincing as it went over the sunburn on his nose and cheeks. “Do you… want to go get donuts instead?”

Rose smiled sadly, an odd sort of warmth in her eyes. “I’d love that.”

Steven Universe Future: Pink State Analysis (Together Forever)

The next time time we see Steven in his pink state is when he is ruminating on his relationship status with Connie.

(Minor disclaimer: Since I don't really enjoy this episode that much, I will only be covering the two scenes in it in which Steven turns pink).

The episode opens with Steven and Connie having a video chat during one her 15 minute study breaks. During this one in particular, Connie is talking to Steven about how she's unsure what major she'll take up when she eventually attends the University of Jayhawk. Steven once again tries to relate his gem-related experiences to human politics (a reference to Bismuth Casual, the episode prior, where Steven attempts to relate to one of Connie's friends talking about his parents tearing into him about failing a test to White Diamond removing his gem). Around that time however, is when Connie's study break ends, as well as her video chat with Steven.

Afterwards, Steven looks at the brochure Connie left at his house to see how far away the University of Jayhawk is from Beach City, and when realizing the distance is further than he thought, he turns pink and begins to sink into his bed.

The reason for this is due to Steven thinking that he and Connie will drift apart once she goes to that school and how Connie has her future figured out while he still doesn't know what to do with his, and how the pink state is able to increase how heavy Steven is without changing the mass of his body.

After trying to get advice from Garnet, who unfuses into Ruby and Sapphire, and after getting separate advice from them (or being egged on) to propose to Connie, he goes to Connie's house during one her study breaks to do so.

After singing "I'd Rather Be Me (With You)", (which she thinks at the time is a love song rather than Steven singing about his plans to fuse with her forever) to her in the area where they first met, he pulls out their friendship bracelet, intending to use it as a wedding ring and asks Connie to marry him so they can live together as Stevonnie.

Steven then goes onto explain why living as Stevonnie would be good for them, and Stevonnie would know what Connie has been studying even though he doesn't and they would be able to go to college together.

The reason Steven wants the proposal to work out is again because of his own fears of Connie drifting away and how fusing would allow him to more or less latch onto her since he doesn't know what to do with himself without a purpose.

Connie politely turns down the proposal, at least for the time being, saying how she wants to be her own person instead of being one person all the time. An interesting line from Steven is when he asks why they shouldn't just go ahead with the marriage if they're sure they want to spend their lives together. Something that has been a recurring theme in Future so far, and has also been the catalyst to some of Steven's breakdowns as well, is his inability to have the patience necessary to work through situations, simply desiring a quick and easy solution for his problems.

While in the middle of reassuring Steven not to worry about the future of their relationship, Connie's 15 minute alarm goes off again, to which Steven brushes off his problems and insists that she should go back to studying in spite of her concerns about him. Before leaving Connie tells Steven that she'll call him the next day.

As soon as Connie's out of sight Steven falls backwards on the sand and after glowing pink again for a few seconds, blasts a massive crater into the ground which destroys everything he had set up for the date.

This is because Steven not only took Connie's "not now" and a "no," but also how he realizes that he now has to figure out his struggles about the future on his own.

After a few hours pass, Steven pops his head out of the crater, to which he sees Garnet waiting for him. After telling Steven that he shouldn't trust love advice from Ruby and Sapphire and how she didn't see an outcome where he didn't try to propose to Connie, Garnet tells him that he can’t use Stevonnie or Connie as a crutch to fill a missing void in his life.

Steven then blames Garnet for making fusing for enternity look so easy, which is really just him expressing frustration with himself, and the episode ends with Garnet comforting Steven while he eats the cake that had been destroyed earlier in the episode.
