The Ilene Bag - A Knitting Pattern Review

I'm still feeling like crud, so time to post about my new favorite free knitting pattern.

THE ILENE BAG by Hannah Mason on Ravelry here!!

It's free, it's easy to follow, and the final product looks like some kinda boutique fancy bag!

ATTEMPT ONE!

My only feedback is the handle bind off - from one side, the bind is kind of visible, which looks messy to me (though maybe my tension is garbage, which is totally possible). Overall, still looks darn good.

So - I followed up my first attempt (the 'corn-colored yarn' bag as my girlfriend called it) where I stuck to the pattern... by going off book 😎

ATTEMPT TWO!

A scrap yarn project!! I made the bag bigger, taller, and instead of binding off the handle into the bag, I made two separate handles then tied them together in a square knot. If I ever wanted to, I could make the handle shorter!

And look how much stuff it can comfortably hold!

Definitely could have shoved more in too!

Bonus cat for scale

Probably could fit the cat, but I couldn't entice him into the bag.

Small update:

Still not feeling great if that wasn’t obvious, I fear I’m self isolating a little too well. Trying to do stuff but I’m not feeling anything really. Sorry I kinda just dipped, I have no real excuse for it other than I just don’t feel good right now.

I know regressing would definitely help me cope but I don’t know I’m not really feeling it. Too much energy is needed to prepare stuff for a night of being tiny and hiding it already from my family drains me.

Don’t know when I’ll actually be back. Just take care of yourselves <3

Thanking you for your service keeping everything up to date on the current nonsense. I don't hang around in RT/AH circles much since the RH thing happened, but I like to check in on the AH crew and see how they're doing as they were part of my life growing up. Disgusting to hear about more and more stuff going on and being uncovered, I hope you and everyone else who's more involved than I am is doing okay.
