Feel free to ignore this since this is wildly specific and may not be appropriate for your blog, but who out of the Bllk guys do you see as the biggest social activist or is the most progressive??? Bc I had an entire dream of hanging out with Reo for example and dropping at some point that I didn't really believe in capitalism as a just or fair system, and my god did we get into a debate lmao
hi nonnie!! a truly great perk about fiction is that it lets you explore more loaded topics like this in a safe, controlled environment without taking it too too seriously (i mean come on we are on the anime men thirst side of tumblr dot com after all hehe) so i’ll try to answer this to the best of my knowledge and character understanding, but i’m hoping all of us here can interpret things in good faith and remember to be respectful if you don’t happen to agree with opinions expressed here. SO
with that out of the way it’s interesting that you brought up reo because it got me thinking again of this panel from chapter 207 (so spoilers if you haven’t gotten that far)
Tumblr media
the manga makes it very clear that reo grew up with both wealth and privilege, with his upbringing eventually building up to him one day taking over the mikage corporation, which i imagine fulfils every consumeristic and capitalistic example in the books, seeing as his parents’ company is portrayed to be one of the largest and richest businesses in the blue lock universe. reo is not only very willing to give that all up, but is actually adamant about making it big in the soccer world so he can stick it to his parents lol.
obviously we have to remember that where we currently are in the manga, with blue lock tv operating on subscriptions and betting pools from prominent clubs - it all still very much feeds into capitalism. that doesn’t exactly make reo progressive, but it does make him keenly aware of how the system works. i find this kind of reflects the mentality of those who benefit from capitalism - they’re aware maybe deep down it’s not a fair system, but they do not care or won’t ever admit to it because it’s making them wealthy.
ANYWAY that’s about as political as i’m brave enough to be on here, but i think it’s interesting where that leaves reo, with him all for “taking the funding of the money-loving capitalists” to motivate nagi to get a salary of 300 million yen so they can become the best in the world while he himself is like a… rogue son (???) of money-loving capitalist parents lmao. what i do know is that i would have LOVED to hear you debate with him hehe sounds like it got intense 👀
this is more of a gut feeling, but i think chigiri would be the most likely to partake in social activism, or at least as much as his contracts and career would allow him to. and with how much these bastards would get paid for being pro soccer players they BETTER be donating some of those figures to charities or nonprofits i got my eyes on them 🤨 in that aspect, again, chigiri comes to mind but also barou, hiori and yukimiya too. circling back to reo for a little bit, because apparently i can’t shut up about him lol, i feel like if he ever got hold of his inheritance? mans would absolutely donate most of it away out of spite pls he’s so petty

omg as someone who followed you for tf2 stuff -- I watched rottmnt while it was airing and was super bummed out by the review bombing and early cancellation. there was so much stuff the writers had to leave out just to get some semblance of a conclusion (s2's planned content essentially got cut in half iirc). :') I'm glad you and your gf enjoyed it. and I'm likewise hoping someone somewhere up the exec chain can revive it lmao. it had so much heart....
yeah not to be a total dork abt comics in public again but even before rottmnt (which standalone is a super interesting response to the surge of superhero content being flattened/whitewashed/military propaganda/cishet neurotypical pro-capitalist/you get my point) the teenage mutant ninja turtles franchise existed as, at its core, a fuckin open mockery of superhero franchising, on literally every single level. so approaching a franchise based on like ten layers of in-joke for comics fans and using it not just to deconstruct harmful tropes (the way western media fixates on the japanese ninja/samurai character instead making an interesting narrative about the alienation of a first generation immigrant being compounded by him being literally mutated; the teenaged characters consistently being given the ‘and now they’re actually BADASS’ arc but the kicker consistently being ‘and yes they’re good at what they do now but they’re still children’; interesting and dynamic family relationships and conversations about how different people manifest things like love and respect differently instead of the fuckin ‘but actually i’m cooler than you’ episode 45 times in a row like c’mon) but to bring in some really fucking sick stuff that i haven’t seen much in cartoons and media in general, let alone in the 2000’s/2010’s (animation style clearly pulling primarily from the american comic book style and really leaning into dynamic shape language; really interesting character designs like i’m so serious the character design is INCREDIBLE in this show; a really surprising amount of research on different fighting styles and how one would fight with their different weapons to do some sick fight choreography; actually doing the ‘kids these days on their damn phones’ joke but it’s not like weirdly derogatory it’s a really good episode that episode rules). the Rise series and Wander over Yonder are probably my picks for the two best animated series of that era of animation purely because both of them individually represented revivals of their artstyle but in an era where we can push the medium just that much further and holy shit i’ve written a thesis paper okay i’m done now. good show go watch it + season 2 + movie

anyone who has been following me for a while knows that i don't get into politics or drama of any kind. this is a sims blog, it's a place to post pics of my little pixel people and engage with others who enjoy the same hobby. that's why i don't usually get into deeper topics on here. i have these conversations in real life, with friends and strangers alike. tumblr isn't that place for me, and i'm comfortable with that. late last night i made a short text post saying "some folks on this server should live in cuba for 12 months, try it on for size, and lmk if you actually like what you're preaching." yes, implying that some of the comments/posts/dissertations i've seen on here lately skirt around if not entirely subscribe to communist ideology. as a first generation cuban-american, communism repulses me. it pains me on a visceral level because i'm taken back to all the firsthand accounts i've heard and images i've seen of the result of communism. and when i say firsthand accounts, i mean my father, grandparents, great-grandparents, and dozens of family members who have lived and suffered communism in cuba. that being said, my post on my blog was light in comparison to all the things i could have said and shown. yet, a former mutual decided this was the time and place to start an argument with me. i'm glad to have a debate with anyone on facts. however, what you don't get to do is tell me what communism is when you literally don't know a single person who lives or has lived under communism. what you don't get to do is mock me, call me "bestie" (lmao idk you bro), and act all holier than thou because your friend is studying economy in college. simply because real-world communism doesn't suit your narrative doesn't mean it's not communism. communism by any other name would still be just as deplorable, violent, corrosive, and unjust. the basis of your argument was the same argument we've all heard for the past 100 years. "communism isn't bad, it just hasn't been implemented correctly." to that, i say, how very fucking dare you. that's like saying slavery wasn't bad, it just wasn't implemented properly. it's like saying hitler's racial cleansing framework wasn't bad, it just wasn't implemented properly. it's like saying ukrainians don't know what war is because the russians haven't implemented it properly. again, how very fucking dare you. some might ask how i can compare cuba's situation to slavery, the holocaust, war. i get it, on the surface these things don't look the same. ask the cubans who work the fields but can't own them, make profit from them, or feed their families from them if that's slavery. ask the doctors who are forced to commit their lives to the government and sent abroad if they are medical slaves. ask the men, women, and children selling their bodies on the streets of havana if they are sex slaves. ask the religiously and politically persecuted prisoners serving in labor camps if they understand what communism is. ask the uyghurs in chinese concentration camps if they know. ask venezuelans and cubans who have been fighting their oppressors in the streets for years if they know what war and famine is. so the next time you try to spout your flawed and failed ideology from your ivory tower on your $1000 smartphone, listen and learn from people who have lived it first. or maybe just shut the fuck up because you actually have no idea what you're talking about. it's really easy to be a communist in a capitalist country while sipping your $8 frappawhateverthefuck and whitesplaining things on the internet on your macbook pro. on a final note: this is the first and last time you'll see this kind of discourse on my blog. if i lose followers over this, so be it because a bully will never silence and mock me. my freedom of speech is exactly why my family immigrated to this country.

OTP Asks - All Of Them (9-16) <- Part One
For @toorumochi assass :P
For the Angst
9. Have they made each other cry?
Short answer: Yes
Long answer:
Karma knew that Gakushuu would be a difficult person to live with and that he was sensitive despite his hard exterior, but that didn’t mean he didn’t get annoyed too sometimes.
That night they were arguing about who knows what, saying things they didn’t mean, when the insults became half truths and eventually full truths that became insults. Karma said something along the lines of “Oh, and it’s not my fault your dad didn’t raise you right but it your fault that you’re becoming exactly like him, don’t ask me why I’ll need therapy more than twice a week after this.”
If it hadn’t already clicked to Gakushuu that they were fighting fighting before then, now he got the message. He ran out of the room without another word and Karma had to pace to cool down. Karma decided to sleep on the couch that night and only realized Shuu went off crying the next morning, when the air was cold and rigid and Shuu had tear stains under his eyes. Karma didn’t say anything though, he didn’t really know how to fix it. They ended up spending that whole day apart and eventually had a long talk.
———————
Gakushuu made Karma cry when he told him they’d probably end up breaking up. Karma was joking about meeting Shuu’s mom and Shuu just laughed saying he didn’t think they’d make it that far. That messed with Karma’s perception of permanence and what he thought they were. He thought they were gonna get married some day and that they were going to live together and... what? He tried to ask Gakushuu why he thought they wouldn’t make it and Shuu seemed unbothered. He said something about how they were incompatible in many ways and how they were both handfuls and how life would get harder and how Karma probably wouldn’t be able to handle all the weird changes in Gakushuu’s life because of how the businesses was booming. They said goodnight after that and Karma found himself outside at 3am taking a walk. He didn’t realize he was crying till he came home and Shuu asked him why he was crying. His first instinct was to say he was doing drugs but that would get them nowhere. Instead he said he didn’t want to talk about it, and they went to bed. He could think about permanence another day. And he did, they talked about both that and their insecurities going forward to try to salvage their relationship. (I can imagine that this is a few years into their relationship.)
10. Write a ~300 word argument scene for them.
In another post !
11. What causes them to fight?
The lighthearted answer would be: anything and everything. They fight over how many pillows they need but always laugh about it in the end.
Another answer would be: the fact that at the beginning of their relationship they were insecure about themselves. You know you really shouldn’t get into a relationship until you love yourself enough, at least in most cases. But for them I’m guessing that the mutual attraction was enough for them to get together, which isn’t always bad b u t for them they had a lot to unpack. It’s surprising and maybe even kinda toxic that they stayed together after the first part of their relationship but now they’re happy. I can imagine that they’re happier as adults at least, and that they still do fight over small things like the TV volume but those fights don’t even count as fights. It’s just a little conversation to keep them going yknow?
12. Do they have differing political opinions?
Kinda? Gakushuu is a businessman and probably took a course called “creating capitalism” so we can assume he’s pro capitalism, and on the other hand Karma joined the bureaucracy in Japan (and Japan is, if I’m not mistaken, a socialist country) so he’s probably at least pro socialism.
I just want to comment on how this is cool because Gakushuu being pro capitalism is a solo player as the CEO with the most shares of his corporation. Whereas Karma who we assume is pro socialism works as a bureaucrat for the government. Which is cool because capitalism is more about individuals climbing the corporate ladder and whatnot whereas socialism is more of a government intervention thing where the government has control and places limitations. (There’s way more to it but I tried to badly summarize.) So they’re both doing very well in their respective economies. That being said, we could go into the capitalist tendencies in Japan but we won’t! AHEM THE MAIN QUESTION WAS ABOUT POLITICS BUT I WARPED IT SORRY THEYRE PROBABLY BOTH MORE LIBERAL BUT I WONT GO INTO THAT.
Anyways to finish off explaining the “kinda” I answered with, I said kinda because I don’t think they feel strongly enough about their own (preferred) economies to argue about it. Though maybe Karma will complain about some of the disparity in wealth he sees between Gakushuu and others but honestly I don’t see them caring much, since they have the luxury of living in their own bubble of karushuu happy fun. I hope this blurb made sense.
13. Name something they would never do for the other person
Gakushuu would never give up his ambitions to be with Karma. Sounds sad but after letting go of some of those insecurities that were there at first, he’s found his self worth and won’t give up all his hard work for anyone. Is that selfish? Personally I don’t think so, because it would be selfish for someone to ask him to let go of his dreams for them. Karma would never do that anyway, so. By give up his ambitions for Karma I mean like if Karma were to ask Gakushuu to drop his work or him, he’d be dropping Karma.
Karma would never settle down entirely because Gakushuu asked him to. This is similar to the first one but I don’t think he wants to calm down and live in another tropical country and retire young just because they have enough money you know? Not like Gakushuu would ever ask him to slow down but if he did then Karma would still probably work a few jobs because of how boring life would be without something to do. This is basically like Gakushuu’s but I feel like Karma’s is less intense and he wouldn’t break up with Gakushuu right away because of this.
Take that as you will ^^
14. What would be a dealbreaker
This is the same as the last one I think. Telling the other to slow down and pick between their passions (for work lmao) or them. Since it’s the same ish for both of them I don’t think there would be that much of an issue though. Maybe if Karma killed Shuu’s cat then that would be a dealbreaker, who knows.
15. What are traits they dislike in one another?
Karma dislikes how Gakushuu is a workaholic and Gakushuu hates how Karma is taller than him :P also how quick he is at making impulsive decisions. HmMm maybe also how Karma snores- that’s not even a trait i- anywayyyyssss
16. If they broke up, what would be their opinions of each other.
Oh boy. I’ve thought about this for not karushuu things too so here’s my take on this:
Karma would consider Gakushuu as an addition to the toxic people in his life. First his parents, then some of his teachers, and now his first boyfriend. He’d remember the happy moments they had together but quickly try to replace them with the sadder memories. He’d try his best to paint Gakushuu is the worst lighting, he’d villainize (not a word but shh) him so he could go on thinking he didn’t do anything wrong and it was Gakuhsuu’s toxicness that tore them apart.
Gakushuu wouldn’t think of Karma. Not after a bit of time, not because Karma never came to mind again after the breakup, but because any thoughts of Karma would be illegal. Honestly I can see him thinking that his time with Karma was an era of weakness. He can’t go back to that weak state, not even in his memories, so he doesn’t. (Well maybe in the middle of the night some days he does but he’d never admit to that.) I hope my grammar here was bearable lmao.
I’m sorry I’m tired lmao I can’t proofread but yk :))) next part up soon!

I saw your tracker says "# earthbound stan(s)" and was wondering your opinions, as a whole and hot takes, on the Mother series.
well im glad u asked....
Tumblr media
so it should go without saying that i fucking LOVE the mother series - almost every piece of media ive been a fan of in the last decade has taken influence from mother (undertale, lisa, homestuck, etc) and so even before i ever played any of the games i knew i was going to love them. i was nervous about them not living up to the hype, but after playing earthbound and mother 3, i can say that they not only lived up to it, they FAR fucking surpassed anything i could have expected from them in terms of quality. they are genuinely phenomenal games, and in my opinion, they are two of the greatest games ever made
i unfortunately havent played mother 1 since i was told to skip it, but i 1000% plan on doing so cause i get really mad when people dont play lisa the first so im super hypocritical for not playing mother 1 LMAO
as for hot takes, i dont have too many since i think the games really do speak for themselves and pretty much every analysis that could be done of them has already been done, but some of my favorite things about both games are:
- the minutia in both games is SO well done... there are so many little details that make the world feel truly alive, to the point that things i would have hated in a lesser game became genuinely enjoyable and compelling here. the little fetch quest in m3 where you can help a mother mouse reunite with her babies is a perfect example - do you need to do it? no. does it take fucking forever? absolutely. did i still go out of my way to do it? YOU BET
- by the same vein, i think the amount of utterly POINTLESS shit in both games really add so much life to them, like how the game will sometimes straight up lie to you, or how you can obtain items that have zero function whatsoever apart from something cosmetic (like the egg you can get that hatches into a chick and just peeps occasionally. for WHAT purpose)
- i think the sequence in m3 where you go through all of porkys memories of ness and earthbound is one of THE best moments in any video game. like the pure emotion that i felt in that moment.... it was like reliving my childhood all over again even though i literally played earthbound for the first time when i was 20 LMAO
- the anti-capitalist/pro-environmentalist message in mother 3 is handled SO fucking well. the game doesnt even need to point blank tell you that thats the intention, because it takes such care to SHOW you, with all the chimeras and the massive monument to greed that is new pork city. i was crying my eyes out at the end when the logo turned all wooden.... please god
- im not a big crier, but i cried a fuckton during earthbound and mother 3 both. that game really taps into something... it just bypasses all logic and sense and hits you with pure emotion. in particular i was inconsolable for like 20 minutes after the ending battle of mother 3, like at one point i was deadass just sobbing my fucking eyes out shaking my head saying "its not fair its not fair" over and over for at least 5 minutes LMAO
- i genuinely think the mother series also has the best cumulative video game soundtrack of all time, like to the point that its impossible for me to choose between them because theyre all so phenomenal in their own way. gun to my head, if i absolutely HAD to choose though, id probably give it up to earthbound by the slimmest of margins.
ok i can go on abt this game forever so let me stop, but yeah. mother series is the fucking best and i love it more than anything. not more than lisa tho ♥

so I was talking to my friend @timelordthirteen about some shit and I decided to just share with you all about the importance of actually explaining shit instead of just saying it. the Left, I am looking at you bitch (ily bitch but)
lol would put a read more but tumblr's being a petty little bitch today ❤
shitposting is fun. dunking on asshat right wingers is fun. you know what is not fun? seeing people not understand the basic terminology that we use in the ~discourse*
but. if we are going to use terminology, if we are going to inject regular old laypeople conversations with (imo) unneccessary amounts of academic terms, then we should try to use them correctly** because in many cases misusing them means we as leftists do not have a full understanding of what the fuck we're on about. this dilutes both the meanings of these terms and their purposes. I know I am wordy as fuck and can be hard to understand sometimes (thanks adhd) so what I am about to say is a little ironic, but clarity is fucking important when it comes to strategy and organizing.
so I am going to examine some commonly misused concepts and terms today. yay.
1. THEORY, PRAXIS AND FRAMEWORKS FOR ANALYSIS weeee yes I am fun at parties tyvm
what is a framework? a structure, in this case, for analyzing some bullshit we deal with irl. that's it lol but I use it a lot so I figured I'd define it here. examples of frameworks are: intersectionality, marxism, queer theory. seriously, if you can think it, it has already been analyzed through the queer lens.
what is theory? ideas, knowledge in the abstract based on looking at shit happen and analyzing that shit. it is useful because it can help us articulate what we are going through in our shitty lives. this is why I often recommend people learn about chomsky's manufacturing consent (theory of why we get the info we get from the media tl;dr), not because I think chomsky is the ultimate leftist grandpa but because this site needs some media literacy lmao. and btw, this clip narrated by amy goodman is a great, trippy little 4:30 min long video that explains the basics of manufacturing consent so you don't have to open a book or use drugs!
theory can help serve as a framework to understand what the fuck is happening to us irl, but imo is kind of an incomplete understanding of shit without lived experience (aka - theory v praxis). this is one reason why we should listen to marginalized groups on their own shit and not talk over them - because all of the research and theory in the world does not make me a Black woman living in Flint (aka - ground up organizing v technocracy). it is not about being nice, or politically correct, although we should be nice and we should care about people just because they're people. if you understand the why of listening to marginalized groups, you understand that it is mainly about communities knowing their own problems best and therefore having the best solutions for those problems.
2. MARXISM, CAPITALISM AND OTHER BUZZWORDS (and leftists need hobbies)
so marxism is a framework for socioeconomic analysis observed by mr kpop himself, karl marx (and his sugar daddy friedrich engels). because leftists love to argue, there are so many kinds of marxism, and if you ever feel like you are shouting into the void too much, just look up some arguments between stalinists and trotskyists. it's just... magical. no, I am not defining tankie here.
as many people smarter than I am have said (read: kwame ture seriously watch this video it's iconic), karl marx did not discover socialism or invent it or whatever, he observed capitalism and saw how shitty it is, like any other sane person would do. the point of marxism is not karl marx (which he would say) or tankies or fuckin guillotines***
things that marxism is:
- an analytical tool for looking at the world
- a theory which was used to develop the basis of different kinds of post-capitalist economic systems like communism and socialism
things that marxism is not:
- a system of economics or government lmao marx did not govern dick
- scary
marx looked at capitalism and said "this is definitely gonna fail someday because it's clearly unsustainable, I mean the proletariat is bigger than the bourgeoisie who owns everything uh yeah so I can do basic fucking math. if I have one capitalist and fifteen hundred workers, eventually that capitalist is gonna lose his damn head because he is gonna hoard all that wealth and his workers are gonna get pissed that they don't have their basic fucking needs met. lmao now put on some kpop, freddy" or something. idk that might not be a direct quote.
what is capitalism? (besides horseshit) a system of economics where industry is privately owned. and yes, this includes publically traded corporations because they are still owned by individuals (shareholders) even if they aren't privately owned by one person or a group of partners. truly a nightmare to live in, and we hate to see it.
what is the proletariat? well, the working class. and the bourgeoisie is the owner class, the capitalist class. the rich.
and this is something else that we need to discuss, tumblr. if you are going to say "eat the rich" please understand who you are talking about. we're not talking about random actors or musicians, or doctors or lawyers, even if they make better than a liveable wage. even if they often have zero class consciousness, meaning they don't ~see class, like colorblind racism for classism.
anyone who has to sell their labor for wages and is not part of the owner class is working class. this includes people who cannot work for any multitude of reasons (disability, can't find work, caretaker, etc) and also white collar workers who might be well off in relatively high paying jobs because they don't own the means of production, or capital that is used to produce shit. so yes, that rich actor who is a part of a union is actually part of the working class in marxist theory. when we say eat the rich, we mean jeff bezos, not john boyega. jeff bezos owns the means of production. john boyega is a working actor who is in a union.
this is important not because we shouldn't get pissed off when actors and celebrities do tone deaf shit like singing about imagining no possessions in their mansions while people starve during a pandemic. they need to put their money to good use, have some class consciousness, instead of asking fans to donate to causes that they could fund. but they are not the bourgeoisie until they start owning the means of production. and there is no doubt that many of them do, which is why we might eat gwyneth paltrow but we won't eat john boyega.
and by the way, eating the rich is metaphorical, a reference to french revolution-era philosopher jean-jacques rousseau's quote: "when the people shall have nothing more to eat, they will eat the rich." obviously I don't even need to explain it but I will anyway. basically, the people will forcibly redistribute the wealth of the rich if they have nothing else. this is why there are some very smart capitalists who are in favor of reforms and raising taxes, because they recognize the danger to their necks in not providing for basic needs of the working class. no, "eat the rich" does not mean be pro-cannibalism. but there are many capitalists who would prefer to die than lose their hoard so
oh, and one last thing. "no ethical consumption in capitalism" is tossed around a lot and it's a million percent true, but I need all of us to understand that it is not an excuse to support harmful practices but it is also not meant to shame consumers. it is rather an understanding that we as consumers are not responsible for the monstrous impact of capitalism. we live in it, we have no choice but to consume, and sometimes (most of the time) that means we have to buy shit that was produced in unethical ways. unfortunately supply chains being what they are, all consumption causes harm in some way.
it is a reminder that individual actions are not going to have the impact of collection actions. this is why plastic bag bans, though well-meaning, are not going to have the same impact on climate catastrophe as, say, banning fossil fuels would.
I am a vegetarian and I can recognize that I am doing a whole lot of nothing by not supporting factory farms, and when I was a vegan I wasn't doing much either. boycotts without mass support don't have much evidence of working. this is why bds exists - boycott divestment and sanctions. boycott, meaning don't support goods from various conpanies connected to something, divestment, meaning get companies/countries/institutions to remove their money from something, and sanctions, meaning getting countries to penalize a country for their bad behavior until they comply.
this is what the anti-apartheid south africa movement did and what palestinian rights organizers support for israeli apartheid.
do not allow legislators to put the burden of fixing the ills of society that capitalism created on consumers' shoulders.
3. INTERSECTIONALITY (because it deserves its own section)
I don't have as much to say on this as I did the last bit because holy shit capitalism, man.
intersectionality, a term that was coined by law professor kimberlé crenshaw in the late 80s to serve as a framework for people to critically assess how legal structures impact Black women differently due to class, race and gender. it is not incompatible with marxism (in fact marxism has been argued to be a form of intersectionality).
intersectionality can and should be used to examine why the Black queer experience is unique, for example. I also want to acknowledge that professor crenshaw isn't the only person to come up with intersectionality; sojourner truth spoke about it even if she didn't coin the term, for example. patricia hill collins, another influential af Black feminist academic****, created frameworks for viewing intersectionality. also you can read her book black feminist thought here for free.
intersectionality has been used - improperly - by liberal feminists***** to excuse bad behavior from leaders who pretend to care about women while creating and enforcing legislation that harms women. anyone who stans politicians at all needs help. it has also been misrepresented as essentialism, which it is also not (essentialism is the idea that everything has some assets that are necessary to its identity) because intersectionality isn't saying that every Black queer woman has the same experience, just that Black queer women might experience similar issues because of a system that negatively views them as Black and queer and women.
intersectionality does not excuse kamala harris for prosecuting poor moms of truant kids.
okay if you guys have things to add please do because I want us to educate each other instead of always talking shit. both is good.
* I am not calling out people for not being academic enough or not speaking english or not reading enough theory because LOL I am a 2x neurodivergent college dropout who radicalized by working retail and not by hearing karl marx talk dirty to me. also, not everyone speaks english like, I am truly not shitting on people.
** I recognize that language is fluid and ever changing, and that is a good thing. But diluting terms that serve specific purposes is not ever going to be good.
*** and I don't want to dismiss intra-leftist theory discourse (🤢) because I know how annoying it is to hear bernie sanders lumped in with liz warren, or bernie sanders lumping himself in with post-capitalists lmao of course I get it. but twitter discourse is not dismantling capitalism so ANYWAY
**** actually crenshaw built on collins' work (black feminist thought) and the collins built on crenshaw' work we love to see it.
***** I should go ahead and define liberal feminism as well as rad fem and terf and shit because people use them all very very loosely, especially terf (not every transphobe is a terf but every terf is a transphobe, it's like the rectangle/square thing). but I am exhausted with this so next time.

dcom daddies: ranked
whats up sluts i’m here to give you the content you did NOT know you needed: a foolproof algorithmic ranking of a mild selection of disney channel dads!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
beast (descendants)
hotness scale: extremely tall (over a foot taller than me! this is Very Important to the scale) and he seems to be a mere thread’s width away from Unhinged at all times, which i love. i also think it’s very sexy of him to still have such a monstrous way about himself (what with the roaring and the growling) 20something years post-curse.... makes me wonder very vividly if such energies carry to the b*droom........ *clears throat* 10/10
quality of character scale: it eternally amuses me that beast seems to learn almost Nothing over the course of this trilogy. he’s literally pro-isle the ENTIRE time jsjdndjdjd..... not great considering it puts him directly at odds with his son (and, like, with social progress) but he Does seem to act the way he does with the kingdom’s safety in mind! plus when he’s not accidentally supporting magical fascism he’s super dorky. i love his goofy dance moves 7.5/10
total score: 17.5/20...... with this score alone you can tell this system isnt rigged bc if i had it my way he’d be winning
Tumblr media
hades (descendants)
hotness scale: i hate his party city clown wig but i’m a total sucker for guys in makeup (EVEN THOUGH A DECENT SHADE OF LIPSTICK WOULD HAVE BROUGHT HIS ENSEMBLE TOGETHER. WHY DID THEY PROPOSE IT ON THE CHARACTER DESIGN WALL IF THEY WERENT GONNA FOLLOW THROUGH!!!) and i think the fact that hes Very Sleepy and doesnt own a dog makes him my dream guy 9.5/10
quality of character scale: he literally sings a song about how cool he thinks it is that he’s a shitty dad............ but he DOES come through when his kid needs him, so that’s nice i guess. i would have liked to see more of him but i’ll settle for reading and writing intricate fan works that delve into a hypothetical personality for him that’s mainly conjecture 7.25/10
total score: 16.75/20 i wanna see him in some preppy auradon clothes
Tumblr media
jafar (descendants)
hotness scale: i wish i had nicer things to say about this man. he just....... bears so little resemblance to the original jafar it makes me :( maybe if he was more gangly, or if he carried himself w the same potent gay energy that og jafar has? itd also help it he wasnt a racist caricature. 4.5/10
quality of character scale: again, very much a racist caricature. jafar doesnt steal!!! why would This be what he chose to do with himself! but he does seem to be, perhaps, the least bad of the core four’s parents, which counts for something i suppose. 3/10
total score: 7.5/20 sorry bud
Tumblr media
dr facilier (descendants)
hotness scale: listen. it’s dr facilier. what am i supposed to do, NOT give him a perfect score on the sexy scale? 10/10
quality of character scale: he just loves his daughter and wants to make sure she’s getting what’s hers!!!!! his dynamic with celia makes me really happy they seem so fun! though i guess you could argue it sucks that he’d send his darling babey dohter to do errands for big mean scary hades considering that Everyone on the isle seems to quake at the sight of him. but im sure facilier only does that to ensure that celia can hold her own! 8/10
total score: 18/20 and it’d probably be higher if we’d seen more of him
Tumblr media
mr smee (descendants)
hotness scale: not only does this man fuck, judging by the ages of his kids he fucked RECENTLY. get it baby live your truth 7/10
quality of character scale: he seems to be SO kind and sweet to his baby sons..... holding their little hands and such!!! and judging by how nervous the kids are i’d imagine it was primarily smee’s idea for them to go to auradon. extremely noble sacrifice for their benefit even though he’ll miss them 10/10!!!!!
total score: 17/20 i want to kiss his hand, if he’ll have me
Tumblr media
zevon necrodopolous (zombies)
hotness scale: every time i look at this man i think of this post. he’s the perfect amount of frumpy for my tastes and his voice is so unique!!!!! i’d let his z-band malfunction so he could *** ** ***** * ******* **** 9/10
quality of character scale: really really cares about his kids and wants them to be safe!! he raises his voice once which im not a huge fan of but i suppose it was justified given the circumstances. also that shot of him goofing about with d*le in the end scene shows remarkable capacity for forgiveness after decades of trauma and discrimination! what a guy. 9/10
total score: 18/20 an absolute dilf!!!!!
Tumblr media
dale (zombies)
hotness scale: looks like an uncrustable. 0/10
quality of character scale: a fucking cop. die bitch! 0/10
total score: 0/20 get in since you wanna act clown
Tumblr media
coach jack bolton (high school musical)
hotness scale: honestly pretty young for my tastes. and i literally Always swipe left on athletes, so..... fine looking, but not for me. 5/10
quality of character scale: obviously he grows as the series progresses but i feel like jack is Always in the way of troy getting what he wants, which sucks. i like that he’s kinda goofy on his off hours with his family exactly as much as i Hate how much he yells when hes on the job. i do wish we lived in the timeline where he and miss darbus actually had that duet about their disagreements, though. 5/10
total score: 10/20 truly an Average dcom daddy
Tumblr media
vance evans (high school musical)
hotness scale: due to personal reasons i will be having bad taste. however, this man’s fashion sense in IMPECCABLE. i mean, the colors??? the unbuttoned collar???? come on now. there is also the gratuitous use of the d-word to consider......................... anyways 7.5/10
quality of character scale: it’s hard to tell how much of his interest in furthering troy’s career is out of sincerity and how much of it is sharpay nudging him. but either way the result is a man who supports his daughter unconditionally! he could be nicer to ryan, though (plus he’s an evil capitalist) 6/10
total score: 13.5/20 i feel like he and fulton have had Relations
Tumblr media
mr gifford (lemonade mouth)
hotness scale: listen, i’m a simple guy. i see a basic-looking man pursuing age gap romance in the midst of a mid-life crisis, i support him unconditionally. also i am just Really vibing with that oversized denim shirt on him!!! there’s an egregious amount of arm hair poking out that just works. good for him! and this is a small moment but i’m very flustered over his natural Touchy Feely instinct after wen pokes out his eye... however: man has no eyebrows. 8.5/10
quality of character scale: i’m not a child of divorce so i don’t know how this stuff works, but i feel like he springs a lot of major decisions on wen? not ideal. on the other hand, we DO stan that he has sydney move in before they’re married. this is not a christian home!!!! 6/10
total score: 14.5/20 probably my favorite lemonade mouth dad, but mostly because he’s like the only one paid any attention by the narrative
Tumblr media
mr banjaree (lemonade mouth)
hotness scale: men really have beautifully sculpted noses and we just let them, huh. i’m definitely overusing the word Handsome in this list, but in this case? i’m justified. mr banjaree’s beard suits him SO well and his hair looks so soft...... and we love the implicit cleanliness of a man who wears socks in the house! 8/10
quality of character scale: i super SUPER dont agree with this man’s Smothering-Adjacent Methods (and also i know firsthand that strict parentage just drives kids to be more rebellious, lmao) but all things considered he really just wants the best for his family PLUS he’s willing to meet mo halfway at the end! :’) 6/10
total score: 14/20 the way i feel about him is the way i feel when i get crushes on pastors in that You Are Complicit In My Trauma But We’re Gonna Kiss About It way
Tumblr media
mr delgado (lemonade mouth)
hotness scale: OOOOH GLASSES! 5/10
quality of character scale: it’s sort of implied that the Wacko Energies of charlie’s family are mostly the fault of his mom so it’s cool of this man to distance himself from that. he is, of course, still complicit in Whatever The Hell Her Deal Is unless he is constantly fighting with her offscreen 6/10
total score: 11/20 would have loved to see more of him
Tumblr media
mr yamada (lemonade mouth)
hotness scale: another chapter in the saga of unbuttoned collars! doesn’t get a lot of opportunities to show off his strengths but i appreciate that he is not the thinnest dad in town 6.5/10
quality of character scale: WOW fuck this guy. very dismissive of stella’s aspirations!!!!! i don’t like that he feels the need to talk Over her to her mom when he’s asking about her vegetarianism. dude she is right there.... however it’s a lil touching when he holds her guitar up at the end, so... 4/10?
total score: 10.5/20 *thinks about his slightly protruding tummy in his last scene* *thinks about his slightly protruding tummy in his last scene* *thi
Tumblr media
bob duncan (good luck charlie: it’s christmas!)
hotness scale: in keeping this Specific to the feature-length xmas special, i will say that bob duncan is QUITE handsome! disappointed that he was wearing a shirt in the scene at the pool.... ill bet if this movie came out post-workout/makeover he’d have been shirtless >:/ i feel robbed... spare tummy, sir? spare tummy? additionally i love a man who rolls up his sleeves AND a man who stans kaiju movies!! also i love that he, quite literally, canonically fucks 8.5/10
quality of character scale: he’s about as charmingly incompetent as he is in the show, but the difference here is that he literally did not do a damn thing wrong! all he wanted to do was be civil with his inlaws and he frankly deserves MUCH better. its clear from his banter with the kids that he loves them very much (also i love how frequently he feels the need to jump/dive for things in this movie. silly slapstick icon) 8.75/10
total score: 17.25/20 this man’s mere presence oozes nostalgia
Tumblr media
jerry russo (wizards of waverly place: the movie)
hotness scale: this man was MADE for me. the bottomless collection of hawaiian shirts....... the TWO tummy out scenes..........the fucked up evil thing his voice does when the kids try to steal the spellbook!!! he really has it all. also i love that he is truly just trying to have some beach intercourse 9/10
quality of character scale: i love that even when he doesn’t remember the kids he still maintains a little dadly rapport with them? the instincts...... it’s also incredibly good of him to relive his decision to give up his magic without hesitation once he realizes the severity of the situation :’0 10/10
total score: 19/20 i’ve never seen an episode of the show but im really about to start
Tumblr media
neil morris (dadnapped)
hotness scale: handsome....... mr morris makes me feel simultaneously like a sapiosexual AND a morosexual because although he completed enough schooling to become a dentist, he also threw it away for a writing career like an absolute champ. also i find it unbelievably charming how Along For The Ride he is about the idea of being kidnapped. a man after my own heart 8.25/10
quality of character scale: this is a tricky one...... neil DOES show active concern for his daughter’s safety when push comes to shove, but he also has my least favorite type of redemption arc: “you THOUGHT i was neglecting you, but actually i was thinking about you the whole time and just never expressed it! we good?” so like. bleh. but he’s pretty mild mannered which i deeply appreciate in a man! 6.5/10
total score: 14.75/20 maybe talk to your daughter instead of writing a macgyver ripoff, dumbass
Tumblr media
major joe mason (princess protection program)
hotness scale: prime dad bod, very believable for his line of work. also he has such a Gentle Way about himself when he’s around princesses....... i love all the hand holding when he’s escorting rosie. absolutely my type 8.75/10
quality of character scale: gosh.... where do i even BEGIN!!! his whole dynamic with carter is so ideal... i was apprehensive at first because his job would require him to be Absent a lot of the time, but upon reflection it’s clear that he’s raised carter well enough that he can totally trust her to be on her own, and also she’s only sad to see him go because she sincerely enjoys his company. everything about his profession is so noble and i love the way he can carry himself as casually or as politely as a given situation calls for. worst thing he does is say “i might have to stop calling you ‘pal’” because his daughter is wearing a pretty dress. i wish he was my dad but i’ll settle for him being my husband 9.75/10
total score: 18.5/20 i almost made a ppp self insert this morning specifically for Him
Tumblr media
ted thompson (zapped)
hotness scale: athletes arent sexy!! this guy’s face screams The Only Websites I Know How To Use Are Facebook And Reddit and also he’s a dog person BUT he is sporting quite the tumbey if i do say so myself and for that i shall let him live. 4/10
quality of character scale: ok i know the whole point of this movie is Boys Bad but i hate men who are loud and i hate dads who get Weird about the inherent femininity of their daughters. when he calls zoey “sport” and then cringes like he’s made a mistake? dumb and unnecessary. HOWEVER all of his efforts to bond with zoey are really really sincere. like when he fixes her music box? that has NOTHING to do with the app he just Does It!!!! the movey mightve rubbed off on me a little too much but there are multiple ways to show love and just bc im not used to his way doesnt mean it has no worth! 6/10
total score: 10/20 mr thompson sir im sorry i doubted you at the start of the film
Tumblr media
rob adams (radio rebel)
hotness scale: this man dresses 5-10 years younger than he looks and i respect that for him. but i was expecting him to be a bit more of a slimeball considering how tara talks about him in the opening scene... and you guys know how much i love slimeballs. regardless, pretty handsome! 6.5/10
quality of character scale: it’s nice that he goes to such a Public and Corporate effort to connect to his stepdaughter! even if it’s in a way that financially benefits him, it’s pretty clear that he cares about this family and wants to do right by them. nothing exceptional, though 7/10
total score: 13.5/20 i GUESS i’d be down to smash if he asked
Tumblr media
ralph bartlett (read it and weep)
hotness scale: ok i was gonna say something mean about the fact that he’s balding but honestly he has really nice arms........ in addition he’s really quirky and optimistic which i am going to admire into my grave!! when he gets excited about having customers during the finale his voice quirks with an almost charlie day-esque charm. handsome. ALSO he calls jamie “princess” which is!!!!!!! something 7.5/10
quality of character scale: the way ralph parents his kids is Very 2000s in that he kinda babies his daughter but gets to pal around with his son, but i guess both dynamics come from a place of love and he could be doing much worse. plus he’s an honest hardworking small business owner! i support him 7/10
total score: 14.5/20 i would definitely go out for pizza with him
Tumblr media
dr james hartley (how to build a better boy)
hotness scale: THIS. THIS IS WHAT DCOM DADDIES ARE ALL ABOUT. gosh..... this is truly the Most dad ive ever seen in my life. i love how his hair is always mussed..... how he’s so Desperate to relax that he falls asleep after Fifteen Seconds of smooth jazz..... and also. like. hes a scientist?? hello??? pretty sexy of him. i want to give this man the relaxation he deserves 10/10
quality of character scale: ok so,,,...,, kinda fucked up that he lied to his whole family (with the possible exception of his wife—sidenote, WHY did they make dr hartley married? his wife never comes up except when bart says she’s out of town. let him be single so i can slide into those dms) and EXTRA kinda fucked up that he works for the government? what a scab. BUT it’s very very clear that he cares about his kids (and gabby) and prioritizes their safety above all else! also, did you SEE how happy he was when mae won homecoming queen....... he loves her so so so much! :’0 8.5/10
total score: 18.5/20 i thirst tweeted about this man and roger bart replied ‘Aw, thanks!’ so i dont know where to go from here

i love your lengthy tags on stranger things posts lol and i just wanna say that there has not been enough wheeler sibling content since the beginning of the show! and def not enough byers family in s3. honestly i enjoyed s3 and it's still one of my fav shows but i also feel like there was a lot missing/things i would've done differently in that particular season. hope this isn't weird or annoying 😂
i got so distracted by thinking abt the first clown movie (spoiler alert: im the clown for being invested) fdjsjhldf im sorry for the delay but!! thank you so so much ahhhhhhhhh that’s genuinely such a fucking lovely thing to hear?? i am..... tragically a disaster of the tag novel persuasion, and i simultaneously feel so raw & so touched when people like... actually read them ahaha, let alone enjoy them, so thank you oh my god
also biiiiiiig agree. there were definitely things about s3 i really enjoyed, like the development of eleven as a character & el/max dynamic (which, whether you take it romantically or platonically, is exceptional as a relationship because like... there just isn’t any other positive relationship between two female characters lmao?), and the handling of that steve/robin scene (for that matter, that mike/will scene), and also giving us the first scene where cara buono really gets to stretch her acting chops (w/ nancy, obviously, this is not a blog that would given karen/b*lly rights), but then.... there’s a lot i have qualms with.
some is like, minor stuff, like probably would have let the party spend an actual episode together, but then some of it... idk, i don’t think it’s a coincidence that lucas took a significant backseat this season when it’s the season they were trying to redeem his racist abuser, and there’s something incredibly gross about the different levels of racism that has—-like not only is a character who was racist and abusive getting a pass on an in-character level, but the show itself is actively choosing to elevate him & sideline his victim in order to create enough distance for the viewer in order to redeem him like.... that’s rank as all fuck lmao
and the siblings!!! oh my god the siblings... in all honesty, i’m always like... idk i get rly thrilled when we FINALLY have the big team up each season, but when it happens, i’m always like, oh my god why did this take so long? and i think that’s dramatic at times, but i do think it’s valid for the third season, because the teenagers and kids only all come back together at the very end of the penultimate episode, and that’s also... often when all the siblings get to reunite? tbf, nancy and jonathan teamed back up with the squad their siblings were in earlier than that, but not... supremely earlier, and idk, i just missed them. i think mike and nancy had like.... one actual convo, instigated by max, and then... it’s 3am so my memory could be shot but i’m genuinely unable to remember a single conversation will and jonathan had. idk i feel like this season was really lacking on sibling content & lucas content & i’m over it (also.... i get that it was for comedy but putting the most staunchly pro-capitalist words in the mouth of a young black girl in 80s indiana? what the genuine fuck)
that said, i did enjoy the season overall!! a lot of the dynamics were fun (max & mike is one of my favourite dynamics and i loved how this season showcased both like... bickering but also trust / a lived-in friendship) & i liked that... while will didn’t have an easy run of anything this season, he was, at least, not the main target for once lmao. also everyone’s reactions to dustin and suzy’s musical number ruined my fucking life lmao it was so funny (& lucas and max’s reprisal at the end, teasing dustin, followed by will and mike’s convo about not possible to want to join another party? an absolutely pitch perfect vibe for the party). so yeah, i did enjoy, but i have absolute qualms / things i would change in a heartbeat, of varying levels of importance
and oh my god no!!!! this could never be weird or annoying, i am absolutely 10000% deeply touched that you would send me an ask / care abt what i have to say!! i just hope it wasnt too Overwhelming fdshjk i have zero fucking chill can confirm

part two (fancy font, lmao)
alec was a lesson all by himself. i wrote an embarrassing final paper about him last semester, but it was for a class i had already earned an a in so what was i supposed to do, try? anyway, i wrote this line i liked
Early in my collegiate career, I was fortunate enough to meet a life lesson in the flesh. So rare are the occurrences. Time slows, stops, and in the stillness your thoughts echo like sirens inside your mind. No one ever discusses these moments in detail, the moments when your body tells you to flee, but your mind is raptured.
in that paper, i had to be vague about the lesson that he was. here the secrets come out muah ha ha.
i was lonely when i moved to campus. i was single, and i missed you lol. i lost my virginity the summer before, and i was having fun going on dates and ya know, fucking, but i want intimacy. i always want intimacy.
the first time i met al was at a conversation series for that ridiculous acronym i just told you about. [side bar, he will not be happy, i mean with any of this but specifically his name coming up over and over again if he ever figures out tumble, so let’s continue under the name a ok?] i forget what his stance was honestly, i forget mine. i remember disagreeing with him, thinking he was obnoxious, and making fun of him later for having his vape on the desk.
we actually met over these dinners that my favorite professor had once a week my sophomore year. we ate in the cafeteria, and we just talked about current events, or ethics, or politics, real high brow shit ya know? and i fucking loved it. a was an “anarcho-capitalist” (look it up if u want, kinda interesting stuff) , but it boils down to wanting no government whatsoever while maintaining a consistent dollar. what it really boils down to is being a super enthusiastic trump supporter. i disagreed with him on essentially everything at first, and walked home with a friend and called him a douche after our first dinner.
have you ever seen that picture of me with cory booker? probably not lol (side note, unrelated to that picture even lol, but i interned for him! it was super inconsequential tbh, some funny stories). well a asked me out the night that picture was taken. i put up a lot of excuses for why i said yes to that first date. but the truth is, i was lonely. i was lonely, and horny, and had just been rejected the week before [by jeff jul, lmao]. and he was funny. and smoked (which i had just started and loved any excuse to get high, i’m high now, can you tell?). and he was hot as hell. i had said to my friend that night “you know, it’s a shame, because i hate everything a says but i want to ride his face” that would never happen lol
that first date was fun. he was funny, and he was interested in me. and for everything i hated about him, he was smart as hell, and i was desperate to be challenged and have a gd conversation with someone. and he liked me, and he kissed me, and he asked me for a second date.
i ask myself a lot whether or not i would take back dating a. for the most part, i live this life with # no ragrets # yolo. but he’s a special case. i would guide you through this nightmare chronologically, but that’s dumb as hell, so here’s a pros and cons list bitches.
let’s start with the cons, shall we?
1 He told me he thought he was smarter than me, and I believed him for a hot minute
2 ^ Insert funnier, but I never bought that shit lol
3 He was an actual racist and misogynist. he thought people of colors and women’s brains were smaller
4 I had to meet his dad
5 He would tell me what to wear, how to do my make up, and what to say.
5 And here’s the kicker, he made me hate myself.
I joke about it, a lot, because there’s a lot of stories. On our second date I asked him what his friends thought of me and he said. “Well they were laughing cause I always tell fat jokes and then date fat girls”, he told me i would be a 10 if I just lost 20 pounds, stuff like that. When he said the first comment, I was stunned. When he said the second comment nine months later, i agreed with him.
that’s the funny thing, when someone implies something over and over again. when they look at the amount of food on your plate or comment on it, you start to believe that they’re right. that they’re the one just willing to admit it to you, and everyone else was being nice. sometimes i still think that. the hardest thing he said to me was that it was hard to find me attractive because of my scar. i had never felt so low in that moment. i remember crawling into a ball on his bed and just sobbing, feeling like i would never be whole again.
the truth is, i still believe him. i look in the mirror, and i see everything he saw. i see how gross i am, how many pounds i’ve gained since i started school, this mark of my inferiority on my spine. you know, before i met him, i wanted to get my scar removed. now, i don’t know what to do with it.
when i meet a guy, i’m embarrassed. i’m hot as hell, and i know that, but it’s a facade. you know, i don’t look like that underneath the clothes and the makeup and the underwear, it’s not cute. he showed me that
as i write this i realize how dumb i sound. how many guys before or since have seen me and not cared. and yet, here i am, almost certain i’m a disappointment

this is out of blue but today is just one of these days where im in this particular diasporic Chinese mood where i remember how much i hate Chinese communist government lmao.
i don’t hate collective communism or socialism--in fact im pretty pro leftist ideologies, what i hate is the party that took over power in 1949 and created the absolute weird mess that is China today. (To be honest, the party shouldn’t even associate itself with communism anymore, China today is a labour-based neo-bourgeois capitalist and soft authoritarian society aka “socialism with a Chinese characteristic” lmao) I hate that some American marxists/socialists still unironically look up to Mao when his demonic ass is the heart of the party and also the one who came up with disastrous decisions that killed million of people and the horrible idea that is cultural revolution (lmao i havent met any American or Canadian leftists who think its important to seriously study what went wrong with cultural revolution cause they probs all think this is irrelevant to them but whatever), but most importantly, i hate how a lot of middle class diasporic Chinese and taiwanese in America think that cultural revolution is somehow about the loss of free speech (its partially that but not entirely) and prosecution of right wing. No bitch, Chinese cultural revolution is the event that murders any possibilities of true democracy in China and gives rise to the authoritarian societal structure that remained in China today. Yeah some landlords got killed and their families fled to Hong Kong or Taiwan, but it seems that majority of people that are either seriously prosecuted and affected or killed during the revolution are either poor common people who were at the wrong place in the wrong time and said the wrong thing to the wrong people in positions of power and they weren’t even politically involved OR leftists who are critical of the leadership and wanna stick it to Mao and his buddies! Not to mention, the entire Point^tm of the revolution is to “get rid of the toxic aspects of old culture” according to Mao, yet it just gets rid of any real connection future generations of Chinese population should have with their cultural heritage and plunge entire nation into a cultural limbo (and diasporic and biracial Chinese have been living in racial limbo in addition to that). At the same time, the ACTUALLY toxic aspects of “old culture” such as hetero-patriarchy, absolute concentration of power to ruling/governing body, bourgeois system etc are fortified and here to stay. Common people and leftists are murdered and abused and the revolution didn’t even fucking work.
Like, its unfortunate that some landlords or heirs of wealthy families got killed before during or after the revolution, their murder were acts of violence but so were the oppressive policies that kept working class and lower class severely exploited, so idk man revolutions aren’t supposed to be peaceful and sometimes they spilled blood. These educated and middle class Chinese families who either remained in China or migrated in America and Canada cause they are “prosecuted by the communist government” usually still live the finest middle class lives to today, not to mention the disaporic Asian Americans among them love identifying with white people’s social and political perspective, so im sorry but i dont think they are the real victims here lmao. like bitch?! these Asian Americans can fucking choke, I look up to the Chinese socialists who supported civil rights movement back in 1960s and attended black panther rallies.
Growing up in China, i’ve heard the phrase “no communist party, no new China” 没有共产党就没有新中国 for like thousands of times cause they wanna reminded everybody that they are responsible for the economic miracles that happened to China today (economic miracles that happened in post-mao era, btw). Sure, they gave birth to the new China that we have today, but they also killed a better “New China” that we could have had and i fucking hate them for that.

it wouldn’t have to be that difficult, zeroing in on prominent pro-Clinton propaganda outlets and writers (and you can just throw a rock behind you and hit four) and even  pointing out how irrational their “most progressive candidate in history” and hypocritical they are will be enough to occasion meltdowns. like these people still firmly believe in shit like beer summits and working “through our differences” (all within an unspoken unacknowledged and uninterrogated capitalist framework of course lmao), it would “ruin their brands” if they were associated with dishonesty and incompetence, hence why the campaign staff is clumsily in damage control over the book
