Had a silly dream where JD and Floyd came back to the troll tree before the last trollstice but after singing killed their grandma and decided to doodle and expand upon it a bit

Clay never left the tree but was too scared to return to the families pod since he didn’t want things to go back to how they were before, he did try to find his brothers during the escape but got separated by the cave in.

John Dory was the one to find Clay and see him get caught by the cave in, when he came out of the tunnel without Clay and holding his wristband they all just assumed he was dead. Even so JD still searches for Clay with the hope that he might’ve escaped and is alive out there.

They know Bruce is alive but after JD got the post card he assumed Bruce didn’t want to be found

I think movie gimli has his charm but looking through the books again, they really changed his character... like aragorn thought gimli should be among the three companions to accompany frodo to mordor (if frodo had not decided to leave on his own) and I think that speaks enough of his character even if he isn't given much spotlight

#he's also more of a minor character in the books than he is in the movies #but still. just thinking about this now.. it is a bit disappointing that he was boiled down to comic relief #he needed more serious moments to balance it out #lotr #the companions wouldve been aragorn sam and gimli. btw #also I do think it's funny that Tolkien said legolas accomplished the least in the fellowship pft

SUPER DARK TIMES (2017) DIR KEVIN PHILLIPS

#tragically had to skip the 'are you afraid of me' exchange i love at the start bc. this scene is Long #super dark times #josh templeton #zach taylor #sam edits #btw i'm firmly in the 'Josh didn't kill John' camp. bc to me THIS scene is the point that... makes the most sense as Josh's breaking point/#'villain turn' if that's what you'd want to call it. because this is really when Josh... sort of 'officially' loses Zach. from early on in #the movie it becomes clear how much Zach is like... an anchor for him—the way Josh is just fucking *chanting* his name in distress during #the Daryl accident. The way Josh begs Zach to believe him that it was an accident. The way Josh turns to Zach for answers/clarity/direction #Like even if we want to take a cynical approach and think of it as Josh just latching onto Zach in the Daryl situation because he was There #rather than that being an established thing w/ them... in the aftermath of that same incident Josh is still looking to/depending on him!#Josh self isolates at first... but after they talk & Zach tells him they shouldn't act weird Josh goes back to school. (yes #he lashes out there because He's Dealing With The Crushing Guilt but *all* of 'em are acting off then—Charlie specifically calls attention #to the idea they all probably are) Josh goes to the party just like Zach said they should and is *visibly confused* when Zach seems mad to #see him there. He goes to Zach's house to talk and you can SEE how caught off guard he is by what Zach says. Even though the script version #of this scene is VERY different from the final version I do think this one bit of description from it is... insightful: 'Josh seems sincere #almost vulnerable. But Zach is too focused to see it.' LIKE in this scene Zach is already convinced Josh has lost it! He's trying to act #more neutral about it (claiming they could just 'draw a line') but we saw his phone call with Charlie. Because of his own guilt-fueled #paranoia—something shown pretty clearly through the assorted dream sequences and like tht scene of him walking in the hall hearing people #gossip about Daryl—it seems like everything lines up too well! that '*of course* it's Josh and what if it's *been* Josh all along and well #then the role *I* played in the situation really isn't *my* fault because it was all *Josh* and...' etc. even if that's more subconscious #But like... this scene is really when it hits Josh! from the moment he asks if Zach's afraid of him now like... there's a shift. although #Zach says he isn't... i mean he fucking stumbles on the word 'afraid' (like... he hangs on the 'f' sound a moment too long to sound natural #its very subtle but like Noticeable). But Josh sees right through him. Zach doesn't trust him anymore. Zach thinks he's the bad guy. the #monster. Josh feeling like he lost the last person he had in his corner feels like the most realistic thing to... push him over the #edge. like that's a compelling tragedy to me—the idea that these two poorly coping with the Daryl situation in these separated ways where #they *aren't* talking/communicating ends up CREATING the feedback loop that makes everything get worse and worse.#But for that to be the case... it wouldn't make sense for Josh to have just randomly killed John before this scene. I think it's a more #interesting story if certain things really ARE just coincidences but it's that Zach's paranoia won't let him see that 🤷

they werent lying that knuckles series barely has knuckles in it

#i pirated that shit Btw just so we're clear. also gonna talk about it a little bit in the tags #nothing too spoilery but also might not wanna read if you want to go in knowing absolutely nothing? idk #anyway he WAS a main character still he was present for a decent amount of the first couple episodes #but the amount of screentime he gets just starts dropping after that . hes barely there at all in the second half ???#and it feels like theres a lot of scenes mostly focusing on wade and his problems and not near as many for knuckles and his whole deal #overall it feels more like a wade show with knuckles in it than a knuckles show with wade in it. which sucks #and human characters having plot relevance isnt the problem here i dont mind human characters at all i think they can be really fun #its the fact that the human characters are taking over the story and spotlight when the show is called knuckles #and all the marketing makes it look like knuckles is the main focus #and i also would have preferred if they just went with a differnet character to be knuckles' human friend #because i dont particulraly care about wade. and the knuckles (and sonic and tails) i know would not be friends with cops </3 #well at least the story wasnt knuckles training wade to be a better cop like a lot of people were expecting but thats like.the bare minimum #also aside from the issues relating to knuckles' screentime (or lack of screentime) i thought the ending was unsatisfying #regardless of all that though there WERE some parts i enjoyed or found kind of funny or whatever. because knuckles so cutesy as always #knuckles being a cute little guy is the most important part of the show actually #and i liked the parts with sonic tails and maddie even if they were only there for like 5 minutes #(i really wish those three had gotten more screentime. i feel like they could have easily worked in at least one more scene with them)#and its a minor thing but the opening sequence is cute. was honestly expecting just a title card or something #overall the show is just . kind of okay i guess. not the worst thing ive ever seen but still disappointing ? idk how to explain..#my expectations also werent very high in the first place #so maybe im being a bit more generous than i would have been otherwise. idk #and i definitely would not recommend this to anyone who already dislikes the sonic movies . youll probably hate this more #like people who thought the human characters got too much screentime in the second movie would lose their minds if they saw this

my roman empire

i am afraid that at this point in my life the rocky horror picture show is my roman empire. it is fueled by the fact that my local shadowcast has shows once a month so i am always either a.) having it on my mind after the month's shows just ended or b.) thinking about the next shows starting, who i'll be playing, rehearsing, etc. it is not helped by the fact that our cast has a discord where we discuss everything from helping each other with costuming to random memes, even during non-show weeks. AND it really doesn't help that two of our cast leaders have a podcast going through every minute of the movie where they nerd out about it, and they are very entertaining to listen to on walks.

#and most people think about this movie once a year IF THAT #HOWWWWWW this movie and everything it's brought to my life is so special #i respect not being part of a shadowcast obviously and not coming to shows every single month of the year but like. oh that is so not me #my knuckles still have “L O V E” and “H A T E” on them after playing eddie last night. it's very faded though bc i tried my darndest #to scrub it off. no one has asked me about it #my final project in one of my classes is going to be rhps related btw and it's due in a month!!!!#rocky horror picture show #rocky horror #rhps

#google warforged druids btw theyre very fun designs #ive been toying with getting back into dnd since the movie really inspired me abt how fucking awesome dnd can be #so ive accidentally ended up thinking about hypothetical dnd characters all day #rosie and i took the quiz answering as if our non-dnd ocs vinny and milo were in the general dndverse #vinny got aasimar bard which is really funny because in every other au he's in he's still a winged humanoid fkfhdnhdbd #and milo got hobgoblin bard and ive never really considered hobgoblins before but im rotating them in my mind now?#hobgoblin bard sounds rly fun #but also because vinny got aasimar bard it made me start thinking about two things #1. the popular depiction of angels blowing horns could make a cool aasimar bard. aasibard #2. brass instruments are underutilized for bards in general... everyone goes for the guitars/lutes. including me #but brass is super heavily associated with war and battle and the climax of hollywood movies where good triumphs over evil #and whats more inspiring & awestriking in the bbeg battle than a literal angel decending upon your enemies with a huge golden trumpet #that fills you with both magical and psychological strength as it blares loudly over the clashing of chainmail and swords #the tumpet. bwaa
