Since this was the first volume, I tried out a few different drawings and had the editor and designer choose which ones they wanted, then made small adjustments. I personally liked the top-down draft, and the one of the cooking processes (back cover) the best. But looking back, I sincerely think it's good that we didn't go with those. (Kui)

I thought it might be cool to make the character Chilchuck darker in the foreground, and the background brighter! But it didn't quite work out the way I had imagined. I think it could have been a bit better. (Kui)

I remember that the overall shape of volume 4 came together very quickly. The character Senshi's hands didn't fit nicely, so I moved them backwards and to the side. (Kui)

I thought people might start to think "how many have I bought?" so I wanted to create a slightly different impression with this volume. I decided to put the character right in the center and try putting it together all in blue and green hues. (Kui)

With the Red Dragon defeated, have we reached the halfway point in the story? With this in mind, I thought of how many volumes were left to go, and the number of characters, and decided to pair up the characters Namari and Shuroiro. In hindsight, it would have been fine to have them on one cover each. (Kui)

The image is of focus lines converging on the character Izutsumi. This is the kind of cover, with upside down characters, which I've always wanted to try once(?) I submitted it as a trial, thinking that at this point the cover wouldn't dramatically influence sales. However, in the end, we decided it would be better not to have it upside down. (Kui)

I tried blurring the mushrooms in the foreground, then I accidentally saved over it, and couldn't go back to the original. I remember apologizing that it was probably tacky, when I submitted it. (Kui)

I don't think snake meat is marbled at all, but if it has an unfamiliar look, people might not recognize it as meat… so I made it look like beef to make it easier to understand. (Kui)

I thought it might be interesting to have more than one of the main characters on the cover again, so I added the character Falin. I remember it wasn't badly received, but it still ended up just being Thistle on his own. (Kui)

I wanted this cover to be covered in shiny gold. After I finished it, it didn't have enough color, so I painted the tablecloth green, and it ended up looking like Christmas colors. (Kui)

Up to this point, the covers have featured one of the main characters holding cooking utensils in the foreground and a monster in the background, but I thought it might be interesting to reverse the format just before the final volume, so I drew this cover with that in mind. (Kui)

I had decided that the final cover definitely needed to have everyone eating together on it, but because I was publishing two books at the same time I was pressed for time, and it was difficult to have a cover with so many characters on it. I also submitted a rough for an illustration that didn't need me to draw any crowds, but such obviously easy ideas are never adopted. (Kui)

How to a get free info, pics, and documents from ur fave case

aka submit an FOIA request

*only works for incidents that occurred in the US*

find out which county the incident took place (ex: Jefferson County for Columbine hs)

go to the county's sheriff/police website (ex: https://www.jeffco.us/4873/Sheriff for Columbine hs)

find where it says "records request" or something similar

4. The Request Description (the most important part) - this is where you have to be very specific. You must include

Case number or Incident Report number

Full Name - First and Last name of the perpetrator on the record

Date of birth of the perpetrator

Date of Incident

Location of Incident

Type of record requested

Types of records you can request:

crime scene photos (make sure to ask for them in JPG or PNG)

mugshot photos (i have the newest mugshot for allen ivanov hehe)

arrest/holding cell photos (so like that tit pic of nik cruz)

body cam footage

cellphone texts and calls (only calls to 911 are recorded. calls between friends and family are not, so you'll only see the date and duration of those calls)

interrogation footage w/ transcript

social media photos (so photos from their instagram or even tumblr data)

copy of manifesto (written or typed)

home photos (most incidents require investigating the home AND bedroom of the perpetrator)

security camera footage (ex: footage of them at the gun store)

Tips:

if you're requesting multiple types of records, its best to make separate requests for each type

Make sure to request your photos in JPG or PNG and videos in .MP4 or .MOV (.vlc is okay, just download VLC media player)

Record requests are typically free but some may cost like ~50 cents per document, depends on the county. Videos cost more than scans and images.

By law you must use your real name for submission. In cases where you have to pay, your name should match the cardholder's name (there are exceptions tho).

When will they respond? By law, the county must tell you within 20 days if they accept or deny this request.

If you live outside the US, you can can still legally submit a request, as long as the incident occurred on US territory

If the case is still new, your records will take longer because the county needs approval first before they can release documents. The same goes for cases including perps who are young minors (like 14 and younger).

FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) is a law that requires full or partial release of government documents upon request.

Happy 2 Year Anniversary of Kid Leo Au!!!

Happy 2 year anniversary to this au everyone!! I started this comic back in May 2023 and MAN my life has changed since then. My art has gotten better and better and I've made so many wonderful friends in the ROTTMNT Community <33

I really am so grateful to people that have continued to read Kid Leo despite schedule issues and project conflicts that have sometimes stopped me from posting. Ya'll are the best <3

And so, as a huge huge Thank You, I'm hosting a very, very special DTIYS!! (Rules will be at the bottom of this post)

Here's the DTIYS picture in question (and yes, it IS the cover for Chapter 14):

I usually just kind of throw them out there and let ya'll go wild with it, but this time, if you enter the DTIYS, you will also be entering into a special raffle!!!

Accurcay is influenced by the ENTIRE chart.

7th H Ruler conjunct Sun - It is better if Sun does NOT hold the lowest degree. If the ruler has passed the Sun and is separated in over 5 degrees, there will be less conflict. If ruling planet has passed Sun and is far in degrees, the ruling planet’s traits will truly shine. Spouse is likely confident, and easily gains attention for the ruling planet traits.

If Sun is dominating the conjunction, you may find after marriage there is some authority ruling over your marriage. Depending on entire chart, this could be a donating spouse, dominating in-law or another figure will enter your life that will attempt to dominate you. The closer the conjunction the harder it will be to separate from this authority figures demands and heat.

For example: Maybe you come from a culture where your parents live with you into adulthood. At least one will attempt to dominate your marriage.

Maybe you don’t come from that kind of culture but you or your spouse still require assistance of some sort from a parent. They will try to assert dominance by using their upper hand over you.

Maybe it isn’t a family member at all. It could be a a landlord causing difficulty by raising rent or creating new rules for the property. 

Or simply it’s the spouse or even you. One refuses to submit to the other. One becomes demanding. It may not even be to an extreme extent. It may be something that occasionally appears in personality and causes annoyance.

7th House ruler in Retrograde - Marriage or wedding will be unconventional.

to the 10 non-israeli hostages still in hamas captivity (listed from top left to bottom right):

bipin joshi, 23, nepal. an agronomy student, bipin arrived at israel to study citrus cultivation, only 3 weeks before 7/10. he was staying at kibbutz alumim when the attack started. at first, when the rockets started, bipin sheltered in a bunker with 16 other nepalese foreigners. thinking this was a "regular" attack, and will pass soon, they've even taken a group selfie, which one of them had uploaded to facebook with the caption "bunker time". bipin can be seen in this photo.

fear settled in when the sound of gunfire was getting closer. terrorists briefly entered the bunker at first, shooting at the men. two were instantly killed - one who was filming with his phone, and one who shouted "we're nepalese!" the terrorists have then started throwing grenades into the bunker. the men have crowded against the wall - except for bipin, who jumped at the grenades to throw them away. he was successful with the first grenade; but the second one exploded before he could get to it, and left several of the men injured and unconscious. the terrorists have moved on from the bunker, and later the men heard distant shouts of israeli officers, who arrived at the active scene of the attack, instructing them to come to a nearby kitchen for better shelter. while a few of the men immediately went there, bipin and a few of his friends tried to first aid those who were injured by the grenade. it was during this time that he quickly texted his cousin, in english: “If something happens to me you have to take care of my family. Be strong and always see the future.” it was then that two terrorists broke into the bunker. one, pointing a gun at the men left inside, instructed them to come outside with him. the other filmed them with his phone - with the footage being the last time bipin was seen. bipin's phone was later located in the gaza strip.

2. sudthisak rinthalak, 43, thailand. a farm worker, he was working the orchards of kibbutz be'eri on the morning of the attack. he was murdered on the spot, and his body kidnapped into the gaza strip. his death was confirmed to his family on may 16, 2024, following an investigation of the available evidence. may he rest in peace.

3. watchara sriaoun, 32, thailand. a farm worker, he was kidnapped from kibbutz nir oz, where he was working. watchara arrived in israel back in 2020 with his brother, in order to cover their family debt and pay their father's medical bills. apart from his mother and brother, waiting for him back home is also watchara's 9 year old daugher, irada, whose mother died in august 2024.

4. sathian suwannakham, 35, thailand. a farm worker from kibbutz nir oz, he arrived at israel in 2020. sathian was seriously injured during his kidnapping. his mother found out about it via a video on facebook; she, alongside sathian's father and sister, are still waiting in thailand for any word on him.

5. pongsak tanna, 36, thailand. a farm worker, he would often livestream while working, talking to his father wilas, or his 14 year old daughter. on the morning of 7/10, pongsak video called his father. during the 10 minute call, he described the chaos of rockets and gunfire, shouting at people around him to hide from the terrorists. eventually the signal was cut. pongsak was kidnapped into the gaza strip. during the weeks after 7/10, wilas spent days riding his bike around his home province, alongside the thailand-cambodia border, looking for anyone with a relative in israel who could help him search for pongsak. he had spent thousands of bahts (hundreds of dollars) repeatedly submitting legal documents to the government, in hope for any news on his son. “if my son is alive, whenever israel can get the hostages released, I want (him) to come home quickly to (his) hometown," silas said in an interview back in october 2024. “most importantly, i want my son to be ordained (as a buddhist monk) for his mom who died when he was away."

6. bannawat seathao, 27, thailand. a farm worker, he was shot in the leg before being kidnapped.

7. nattapong pinta, 35, thailand. nicknamed "nick", nattapong, a farm worker, came to work in israel a year and a half before 7/10, leaving his wife and young son, in order to pay off a debt and help his wife fulfill her dream of opening a coffee shop. he worked the avocado groves in nir oz. during the occasional rocket attacks, nick would call his older sister, reassuring her. "i’m just saving up a little more money, then i���ll be coming back.” on the morning of 7/10, nick called him wife, narissara. there was shooting, he said, and he was running away. that was the last she heard from him. "i felt like my heart was being squeezed when i learned that he hadn't been freed yet," narissara said. "i will definitely go to the airport [when he returns]. nothing will stop me."

8. suntaya akrasi, 20, thailand. a farm worker, suntaya was murdered on 7/10 while working near kibbutz be'eri, then his body was kidnapped into the gaza strip. his death was confirmed on may 16th, 2024. may he rest in peace.

9. joshua loitu mollel, 21, tanzania. an agronomy student, he arrived at israel 3 weeks before 7/10, planning to stay for 11 months. both joshua and his roomate, clemence felix mtenga (22), a fellow student from tanzania, were murdered in nir oz. at first, the pair had managed to text a fellow tanzanian intern in the kibbutz, ezekiel kitiku, telling him that they were running for shelter. but after a few hours, the texts have stopped. joshua's violent kidnapping was filmed and posted online, showing the terrorists stabbing and shooting him several times. joshua's body was kidnapped into the strip; clemence's body was identified a month later. joshua's death was confirmed in december 2023. joshua was the oldest of 5 children, and his stay in israel was his first time traveling outside of tanzania. joshua's father told of joshua's younger siblings that they "ask me every morning and night: ‘Dad, we want to talk to our brother.'" may joshua and clemence rest in peace.

10. surasak lamnau, 30, thailand. a farm worker at first, surasak's mother, kanmee, had no idea what happened to her son. in the chaos following the events of 7/10, his colleagues in israel told her that they did not see him. but after she posted about him online, she was told that he was one of 5 people - an israeli employer and his 4 thai employees - who were kidnapped. his fate is currently unknown.

none of these 10 hostages are expected to be released during the first phase of the ceasefire deal between israel and hamas.

of the 82 foreign nationals who were killed during the 7/10 events, 46 were thai, 10 were nepalese (all agronomy students who were murdered in kibbutz alumim), 5 chinese (3 were murdered in sderot); 4 were from the philippines (3 were working as nurses in the gaza envelope, one was killed in the nova festival massacre); two nurses from sri lanka (both murdered in kibbutz be'eri); two were from tanzania; 2 were from the uk; 2 were from the usa; and the others were from germany, moldova, canada, cambodia, eritrea, india, mexico, ukraine, and geogria. 32 foreign nationals were kidnapped. most of them thai. 647 foreign nationals were injured.

Hope your midterms haven’t buried you (yet). As discussed in class, your next assignment for Journalism 321: Feature Writing and Human Interest will be a long-form piece scheduled for the Spring Campus Review.

You’ve been assigned to cover a unique and timely subject: SVT Fraternity — 100 Years of Brotherhood, Legacy, and Change.

As one of the oldest Greek organizations on campus, Sigma Veta Tau has a deep, complex history, complete with controversies, reform efforts, and an undeniable cultural impact. We’re looking for a feature that goes beyond surface-level coverage. Dig into what’s kept this fraternity alive for a century. What traditions have endured? What’s evolved? And, more importantly, what sets it apart today?

You’ll need to:

Conduct multiple interviews (current members, alumni, faculty, campus historians)

Attend at least 2 upcoming SVT events (calendar attached)

Interview Excerpt: Vice President Yoon Jeonghan — Sigma Veta Tau Member, Class of 2017

Sitting across from Yoon Jeonghan, one quickly learns that SVT’s charm isn’t just in its brick-covered walls or century-old traditions. It’s in the people, specifically, the ones who manage to be both infuriatingly smug and surprisingly sincere in the same breath.

When I ask Jeonghan what has kept Sigma Veta Tau alive for a century, he doesn’t hesitate.

“We evolve. Not always gracefully, but we do,” he says, arms crossed behind his head, posture too relaxed for the gravity of the topic. “That’s what people don’t get about us. We’re not some relic, we’re a reflection. Of this campus. Of the times. Sometimes a really chaotic reflection, but still.”

Jeonghan is a senior and current vice president of SVT, known for his sharp tongue, unbothered confidence, and—for better or worse—a reputation for testing boundaries. During our interview, he arrives twenty minutes late with iced coffee in hand and offers an unapologetic shrug. But once the recorder is on, his tone shifts. Beneath the sarcasm is clarity and insight.

“People love to point out our past. Fair,” he says. “But I think what makes us different is that we don’t run from it. We talk about it in meetings. We changed our rush policy. We implemented accountability stuff before the school even asked. The Sigma Veta Tau I joined my freshman year isn’t the same as the one I help lead now. That’s kind of the point.”

I ask him what traditions have endured.

“Too many, probably,” he laughs, then softens. “The alumni bonfire. Every year. No matter what. It’s not about speeches or awards, it’s just people showing up. All ages. No ego. You stand there and realize, ‘Wow, this place has held people together for actual decades.’ That hits.”

What sets SVT apart today, he says, isn’t the house or the parties—it’s the level of ownership.

“We don’t pretend we’ve been perfect. We’ve made mistakes. Some big ones. But we fix them. We show up for each other. We let people change. That’s brotherhood, I think. Or the kind that’s worth keeping around.”

In true Sigma Veta Tau fashion, Jeonghan doesn’t offer the cleanest quote, or the most PR-friendly soundbite. But what he gives is something better: honesty that sounds like it’s been aged, tested, and made real within those 100-year-old walls.

Before leaving, he turns and adds, almost casually:

“Also, I looked really good in most of the photos I sent you. Just saying. You might want to quote that.”

The countdown to Invisobang 2025 begins! For those of you who don't know, Invisobang is a collaborative event for authors and artists. Over the course of several months, authors write fanfics and artists create art for those fics!

If you want to connect with other creators in the Phandom, this is the event for you!

How does it work?

Authors begin writing as soon as they sign up. Their goal is to write a fic with 5000 words minimum, although there is no maximum. Halfway through the event, they anonymously submit a profile of their fic.

Using these profiles, artists pick the fics that interest them the most and submit a claim. Mods will pair up authors and artists based on these claims.

During the second half of the event, authors finish their stories while artists make their art.

At the end of the event, participants share their work during posting week to create a big bang of content for everyone to ooh and aah at!

When is it, and how do I sign up?

Invisobang runs from February 14 to September 7. Author and artist sign-ups are staggered, while beta sign-ups are open for the first half of the event. You can sign up through a Google Form that will be posted with the opening announcement.

Authors: February 14–March 15

Beta readers: February 14–June 15

Artists and pinch hitters: May 16–June 15

The event is hosted through the Invisobang Discord. Participants must have a Discord account and be willing to join.

Co-authors can sign up in teams.

Artists must be able to make visual art or music, although you can make alternative art if your author is interested.

All content must be made new for the event, which means no continuing posted wips. Sequels and prequels to existing works are allowed, as well as ideas you’ve had sitting on the back burner (as long as they haven’t been posted before)

Poor Little Meow Meow Finals: Vegas (Kinnporsche: The Series) vs Jin Guangyao (The Untamed)

Vegas: The guy may be an actual murderer, torturer, mafia boss, manipulator, and possible grapist but come on! He is the most character ever! He is the definition of meow meow! He has a hedgehog! And he is very sad a d pathetic when it does and he buries it! And scores with the future love of his life over its grave! He fucks this dude he kidnapped and tortured so good the guy quits his job and becomes his malewife and raises his baby brothers for him!

Jin Guangyao: born the illegitimate son of a Sect Leader (like a wizard prince) and a prostitute. He and his mum were bullied in the brothel where he grew up because his mum was an educated woman. He witnesses his mum being horribly abused and is unable to protect her. When he’s 14 she dies, after having convinced him to go to his father for protection and telling him that his father will take him in and give him a place as his son.

He goes to his father on his birthday and his father utterly refuses to even see him. Instead he is thrown off the top of his father’s palace’s marble staircase. The attempt to be recognized makes him a laughingstock and figure of public ridicule and gossip throughout society, and he is treated as though he has some kind of communicable disease just for being the son of a whore.

His life of crime begins when he murders a man for bullying him and insulting his mother, and is thrown out of his sect as a result. He then goes and becomes a double agent with the big bad of the first half of the story, doing terrible things to earn the man’s trust. (Torture and killing of various good guys’ henchmen.) He then stabs the baddy in the back and wins the war for the good guys.

Legitimised by his father for winning the war, he soon discovers that his father is not a good man either, and does some terrible things to keep his father’s favour (while being physically and emotionally abused by his father and step mother.)

Finally he does terrible things to cover up the terrible things he has already done, and becomes the big bad of the second half of the story, but it’s very easy to imagine that if he had not been consistently treated like shit by everyone (not you, Xichen, you’re a delight) he would have preferred to be firmly on the side of the heroes.
