Made this theory to calculate, breakdown and understand the Villainous Timeline. (I will be making 2 or 3 parts as ran out of space for photos.😅)

Alan mentioned on Instagram that:

"The Villainous timeline so far followed real life (as shown on Miss Heed and Penumbra's Instagram) but when the show airs, it’ll slow down and follow its own timeline as they wait for more episodes to release, but it’ll be similar to ours. As we know, all actual real events happened in Villainous and BH even had some influence over them, so I’m sure they’ll still follow ours but at a different pace."

So 3 points to note:

The Villainous Timeline Follows our Time line but at a different pace.

The timeline slows down when the show airs.

BH has some influence over real events happening.

This is confirmed here as when the show airs in 2021, in Episode 4, the date here (in red) is shown as 14 Jul 2021.

So Given the Ages and Timeline:

Flug is 26 yrs old in Aug 2019

So in Aug 2022 Flug is 29 yrs old. (until Aug 2023, when he becomes 30 yrs old)

Flug's Journal and Demecia's Diary came out on 21st Feb 2022

Flug said in his book “I have been working as the chief scientist of the Black Hat Organization for approximately 8-10 years.” [Google Translate]

Flug's P.E.A.C.E. files mentioned he has been working in Black Hat Organization since March 10, 2011.

21st Feb 2022 - 10 Mar 2011 = 10 years 11 months, 11 days.

So, Flug has been working in BlackHat Org years for 10 years (11 months, 11 days) - (Note: round up to 11 yrs for easier calculation)

29 yrs old - 11 years = 18 yrs old.

Based on the year in the photo of Flug’s Thesis in Episode 6, we can conclude that Flug's thesis started out and was finished on the Year 2005. If it was longer there would be a time range. (e.g. 2005 - 2006)

2022 - 2005 = 17 years

29 yrs - 17 years = 12 yrs old

If they follow Mexico School System, Black Hat Institution should either start in early July or late Aug.

So Flug started going to school either in Jul/Aug 2005

So Flug was 12 years old when he met Miss Heed and started going to Black Hat Institution. (So they started at middle school age)

This was probably the class photo taken on the 1st day of school.

It's shown he was celebrating Halloween so this picture should take place on the 31st Oct, so they've known each other around 2-3 months at this time.

According to this article, It takes around 2-6 months to write a thesis

So maybe Flug has to submit his thesis at the end of the year in Dec 2005 before Christmas, as there were no Christmas decorations (I think even if BlackHat hates Christmas, the Villains would probably celebrate Christmas in their own evil way)

So Miss Heed probably stole Flug's thesis in Nov-Dec 2005 and left to become a hero at the age of 12 yrs old.

So, Flug and Miss Heed knew each other for about 4-5 months.

According to Miss Heed's P.E.A.C.E. Files, she was 17 yrs old while the experiments were being conducted.

17 yrs old - 12 yrs old = 5 years.

So does that mean that Miss Heed was experimented on at P.E.A.C.E. when she was 12 years old, for 5 years before she got her powers at the age of 17 yrs old? (Unless something happened between the 5 yr gap.)

Also, According to her P.E.A.C.E. Files, she needed to train her powers, which might take a few months or immediately.

So this picture with Flug staring at the TV looking at Miss Heed, might be when he is 17 - 18 yrs old before he joined Black Hat Organization.

Conclusion:

-> Flug has been working in BHO for 10 yrs 11 months, 11 days, since he was 18 yrs old.

-> Flug and Miss Heed were 12 yrs old when they met each other for about 4-5 months.

-> Afterwards, in the same year Miss Heed left to become a hero and might have been experimented on for 5 years before she developed her powers at the age of 17 years old.

Nov 6 - 12 will focus on pre-Arcane canon

Nov 20 - 26 is all about post season 1 speculation

Fanworks created for this event should be focused on Arcane character(s). LoL characters are welcome as supporting/side characters, but not as the stars of the show. So "Mel and Jayce try to resist as Swain's forces take over Piltover, aided by Machine Herald Viktor" is a-okay, but "Swain takes over Piltover and has a chat with a captive Mel as he finally wins the city" is not. Reader inserts and original characters are also allowed, so long as canon Arcane characters remain the focus.

NSFW or potentially triggering content, even if canon-typical, must be properly tagged with any applicable content warnings. We trust you to only submit NSFW works if you are 18+. Make use of the read-more bar to hide sensitive content, or host your work on AO3 or Twitter.

This event allows all ships and themes so long as everything is appropriately tagged.

We're now in the final month of the event, and we're beyond thrilled with how things have gone so far! An enormous thank you to everyone that's participated by prompting, filling, and reading the fics submitted so far. This event wouldn't have gone so brilliantly and smoothly without you all!

Our first piece of news is that we have decided to extend the deadline for submissions by two weeks, making the new end date for the event Jan 14th 2024 at Midnight GMT (so that's 7pm EST, 6 Central, and 5pm MST). If on this date you still need a little more time to complete your prompt(s), just drop us a message here and we'll take it from there. We want this event to be as accessible as possible, and will do whatever we can to help you if needed, so never be afraid to drop us a message at any time!

NIF EXCHANGE SIGN UPS OPEN!

Hello dear NIF fans!

NIF exchange is back for our 6th year!! Unfortunately, your mods find themselves with drastically reduced availability this year.  

We still wanted to run the event for the community, but we needed to make some changes to make the workload more manageable for us. 

First and foremost, we will be leaning into the support of the NIF community to help us keep this event running smoothly. 

Therefore, we will be interacting more in the Lang Ya Hall discord server and count on you all to support each other. We will however still send out all official communication via email. For those not already in the discord, an invite link will be included in the sign up confirmation email. 

Some changes we are going with this year are: 

Automated response emails to sign ups and check-in.

Claimed prompts will no longer be struck-out in real time. This means all prompts remain open during the entirety of claiming. We encourage people to list all prompts they are comfortable creating for to give us the most leeway during matching. 

We will no longer match betas individually. Please use the partner-up channel in the LYH server to find a beta to work with, or contact a beta directly through our list of signed-up betas. 

Due to problems with extensions in previous years, we will be stricter with the check-in deadline and work submission deadline. If we do not get a response on the mandatory check-in NOV 5-7, we will consider it an automatic default. All works need to be submitted by the deadline on NOV 26 2022, even if it's not 100% complete. Failure to submit to the collection by NOV 26 will automatically mean we send your assignment out to pinch-hit.

Welcome to another Arena! Signups have officially closed and Bronze Round will begin at noon EST on November 17th. However, we are doing things slightly differently this time, so please read on below for your team assignments and Master classes.

How this event will work:

In the past, signups included inventories as well, and when teams were revealed, so were the enemies. This time, however, teams have already been sorted and you will have roughly 24 hours to decide on your inventories within your Master class constraints. Take a look at this document for your team assignment! And this sheet for your muse's class!

Each muse has been assigned a Master class, but you will not have access to this class until Gold round. Instead, you will be selecting inventory and classes within the ranks of your assigned class. For example, Bronze round has a rank restriction of C rank or lower. If your muse has been assigned Gremory, you will have access to Mage, Dark Mage, Priest, Monk, and Commoner/Noble, as well as any Reason or Faith ability at C rank or lower. Note: Dancer class will be accessible to everyone beginning Silver round.

The class that you choose every round will influence how many inventory slots you have. Keep this in mind when selecting inventories. Beginner = 2 slots Intermediate (includes Dancer) = 3 slots Advanced = 4 slots Master = 5 slots

Each round has the following constraints: Bronze = C rank or lower Silver = B+ rank or lower Gold = You will have access to your Master class, and can choose one rank within that Master class to bump to S+. Bringing back the Gremory example, you could choose to bump Reason to S+ and select any ability from the Reason category, while leaving Faith at A rank.

Combat arts do not take up an inventory slot and can be equipped permanently to ONE weapon per inventory selection. If you decide to have your muse bring an Iron Sword, they can also equip the combat art Wrath Strike, but if they also choose to bring a Steel Sword for their second inventory slot, Wrath Strike will only be allowed to be used with the Iron Sword until inventories are re-selected for the next round.

The current schedule is as follows: Bronze: Nov 17 (noon) - 21 (midnight) Silver: Nov 22 (noon) - 26 (midnight) Gold: Nov 27 (noon) - Dec 1 (midnight)

Inventories should be submitted by pinging the Scorekeeper role within the server.

Lastly, we'd like to remind you that the theme of this arena will be Class Kits and Narrative, with a heavy emphasis on Narrative. During the waiting period before the start of Bronze round, you're free to interact with your teammates via asks or short threads. We also hope that the longer rounds will make it easier to develop meaningful interactions during the event. We received a number of feedback responses for last arena about the lack of interaction from teammates, and we agree that it’s a bummer when you write a fun reply and your teammates seem to not have even read it. For this reason, teams will not be required to reach a certain HP threshold with their enemies to pass to the next round. Instead, the mod team will be looking at team activity. No longer than 12 hours should pass between posts and you should constantly be communicating with your teammates to ensure that your team is moving. We will disqualify any muse who has gone a significant amount of time without posting, or who has been overall dragging their team down.

Unless Missouri Governor Mike Parson grants clemency, Amber McLaughlin, 49, will become the first openly transgender woman executed in the U.S. She is scheduled to die by injection Tuesday for killing a former girlfriend in 2003.

McLaughlin's attorney, Larry Komp, said there are no court appeals pending. An online petition urging Parson to stop the execution has garnered nearly 4,900 of its requested 6,400 signatures as of Monday morning.

Attorneys submitted an application for executive clemency to the governor on Dec. 12, asking Parson to commute McLaughlin's sentence to life and noting that she was not given the death penalty in a trial by jury. When the jury deadlocked on punishment during her trial, a St. Louis county judge instead determined McLaughlin's sentence. As the application states, Missouri is one of only two U.S. states, along with Indiana, that allow trial judges to impose death penalty sentences in the event of a deadlocked jury.

The clemency request focuses on several issues, including McLaughlin's traumatic childhood and mental health issues, which the jury never heard in her trial. A foster parent rubbed feces in her face when she was a toddler and her adoptive father used a stun gun on her, according to the clemency petition. It says she suffers from depression and attempted suicide multiple times.

There is no known case of an openly transgender inmate being executed in the U.S. before, according to the anti-execution Death Penalty Information Center. A friend in prison says she saw McLaughlin's personality blossom during her gender transition.

Before transitioning, McLaughlin was in a relationship with girlfriend Beverly Guenther. McLaughlin would show up at the suburban St. Louis office where the 45-year-old Guenther worked, sometimes hiding inside the building, according to court records. Guenther obtained a restraining order, and police officers occasionally escorted her to her car after work.

Guenther's neighbors called police the night she was killed, on Nov. 20, 2003, after she failed to return home. Officers went to the office building, where they found a broken knife handle near her car and a trail of blood. A day later, McLaughlin led police to a location near the Mississippi River in St. Louis, where Guenther's body had been dumped. It was later determined that Guenther had been raped and stabbed to death in St. Louis County.

McLaughlin was convicted of first-degree murder in 2006. A judge sentenced McLaughlin to death after a jury deadlocked on the sentence. A court in 2016 ordered a new sentencing hearing, but a federal appeals court panel reinstated the death penalty in 2021.

One person who knew McLaughlin before she transitioned is Jessica Hicklin, 43, who spent 26 years in prison for a drug-related killing in western Missouri in 1995. She was 16. Because of her age when the crime occurred, she was granted release in January 2022.

Hicklin began transitioning while in prison and in 2016 sued the Missouri Department of Corrections, challenging a policy that prohibited hormone therapy for inmates who weren't receiving it before being incarcerated. She won the lawsuit in 2018 and became a mentor to other transgender inmates, including McLaughlin.

Though imprisoned together for around a decade, Hicklin said McLaughlin was so shy they rarely interacted. But as McLaughlin began transitioning about three years ago, she turned to Hicklin for guidance on issues such as mental health counseling and getting help to ensure her safety inside a male-dominated maximum-security prison.

"There's always paperwork and bureaucracy, so I spent time helping her learn to file the right things and talk to the right people," Hicklin said.

In the process, a friendship developed.

"We would sit down once a week and have what I referred to as girl talk," Hicklin said. "She always had a smile and a dad joke. If you ever talked to her, it was always with the dad jokes."

They also discussed the challenges a transgender inmate faces in a male prison — things like how to obtain feminine items, dealing with rude comments, and staying safe.

McLaughlin still had insecurities, especially about her well-being, Hicklin said.

"Definitely a vulnerable person," Hicklin said. "Definitely afraid of being assaulted or victimized, which is more common for trans folks in Department of Corrections."

The only woman ever executed in Missouri was Bonnie B. Heady, put to death on Dec. 18, 1953, for kidnapping and killing a 6-year-old boy. Heady was executed in the gas chamber, side by side with the other kidnapper and killer, Carl Austin Hall.

Nationally, 18 people were executed in 2022, including two in Missouri. Kevin Johnson, 37, was put to death Nov. 29 for the ambush killing of a Kirkwood, Missouri, police officer. Carmen Deck was executed in May for killing James and Zelma Long during a robbery at their home in De Soto, Missouri.

Another Missouri inmate, Leonard Taylor, is scheduled to die Feb. 7 for killing his girlfriend and her three young children.

Greetings! The KiScon newsletter is back – and will resume its monthly frequency to bring you all our announcements (events, fic fests, KiScon 2023 progress reports, and more news from the world of K/S) directly into your inbox.

1. KiScon 2022 – A short recap:

We made it through con farr and enjoyed every minute of it! It was an amazing and immersive weekend filled with many wonderful discussions and presentations, plot bunnies roaming freely, and the delights of fanworks shared among us.

We might not have been all together in a hotel for three days, but despite the virtual format and our dispersion throughout locations and timezones the con still defined a time and place for us, a happy bubble, and everything else around it, in that so-called real life out there, was not allowed to intrude much.

A detailed post-con report (pdf file) has been sent out by email to all registered members a few days ago; it includes a bunch of goodies to prolong the squee: the complete playlist of our vid shows, the Round Robin fic, fic recs, and links to several panel notes and presentations, as well as other important download links (e.g. for the con bag items) and info where you can find KiScon year-round. If you were registered for KiScon 2022, but have not received this email, please make sure to check the (fannish) email you used to register for KiScon, check your spam folder, and get in touch with us.

We've also contacted all winners of our competitions and all buyers and sellers from the auction.

2. KiScon 2023:

As already announced in the Closing Ceremony, KiScon will return for the weekend 3–5 Nov, 2023. Registration will open in January 2023. Stay tuned for the announcement! 

This con will again be an online convention, but we are already working on a hybrid (in-person & online) format for 2024, and we are in negotiations with a hotel.

3. Upcoming Events:

Apart from these K/S-filled con weekends we will continue to host events (e.g. Pub Nights, but also competitions and fests) year-round. Our "KiScord" (KiScon Discord server) will stay open and active. There can never be enough K/S in one’s life. 

Starting this week, there will be an online event every Saturday, with alternating Pub Nights and Viewing Parties.

We are going to watch the two pilots: "The Cage" and "Where No Man Has Gone Before" (restored, unaired pilot version). This takes place on Zoom, much like our ST V viewing party at the end of KiScon. 

4. K/S Advent Calendar:

The official deadline for K/S Advent Calendar submissions is in the past (with the exception of a few individual deadline extensions), and it enabled the mods to gather enough works to draw up the schedule for the gradual reveal throughout December. However, you can still submit works (fic, art, vids, podfic, even photos of crafted 3D-objects) to the collection until the end of the year, both as fill for a prompt and as extra work (for an explanation how adding a fanwork to a collection works, please see the FAQs and Rules section on the AO3 collection profile). 

If there are works coming in very late in December, they will be revealed at the end of K/S Advent, as a kind of New Years Eve firework. Works coming in sooner will be added to the daily reveals. In any case, the collection will be closed to adding new works on 31 Dec, 2022, 11:59 a.m. UTC!
