A common question I hear every other week about Clark and Kon in Superboy '94 is "Why didn't Clark take Kon in when he came back to life, and if not Clark, literally anybody else to keep him safe from Rex etc." which is FAIR question that can be answered fairly easily.
1.) Clark genuinely believed that Kon was in good hands. Clark had a very friendly relationship with Dubbilex and trusted him to be able to keep a close eye on Kon and keep him generally out of trouble. Unfortunately Dubbilex was lukewarm at best.
2.) He genuinely didn't know about most of the things that happened, because the writers kept them both Clark and Kon generally segregated into their own comics. It's just the story the writers wanted to tell.
3.) Clark had experience with Cadmus clones in the past and knew how adaptive and quick they were to function and thrive as their own independent people. He assumed Kon would have no difficulty.
Superboy's solo is a very compelling series with a lot of nuance, and while I would struggle to call it 'good' or even recommend it for casual reading, there is a lot going on behind the scenes that explains why things are LIKE that.

i think we should go ahead and do a convergence type event where they bring back certain preboot runs again but like kon’s should just be issue 92 of his solo except he’s older and there’s less ptsd and more whatever bart and tim had going on.
bonus kon under the cut :)
someone help him

It's hard to concisely explain my full thoughts and feelings around how hard the clone rights narrative arc slapped for Kon in the wake of his mentor Jim Harper's death.
The lack of autonomy placed on his mentor, the governmental involvement in the subjugation of Cadmus clones, Kon's attempts to protect his mentor from those who were going to exploit him for another life, Waller's persistent dehumanization, and his connection with Cherub when he revealed that they can be more just hit harder than any other arc to me.
When I read it the first time I finally felt like everything that Kon had been and seen was leading up to this arc, and in a way it did when he took out Amanda Spence who was behind most of his pain. However there was no followup, as the events on Apokolips with Young Justice and being traumatized by Bart's 'death' came immediately afterwards then his (brief) homelessness.
The way how Kon's series ended in chaos as he desperately tried to live a normal life on his own without depending on anyone, only to have it fail entirely explored from the perspective that Kon just hit rock bottom emotionally from the previous arc makes it a more compelling final arc for a compelling series, if it were not written the way it was.
Superboy '94 is a story of exploitation and one that never quite wrapped up satisfactorily, always missing the punch line. Still however it is a compelling series if you can tolerate the more triggering themes.

Can we go back to when Superboy had zip to do with Lex Luthor? Plz? He was such a deep character and his creation was so much more morally confusing because like on one hand they were just trying to protect people but on the other hand they cloned someone without their consent after they died for the express purpose of making said clone become a weapon (even if they didn’t think of him as a weapon).
Isn’t that so much better!? And then add in Superman coming back and Superboy being pushed to the side and being thought of as like, redundant or unneeded. But he doesn’t hate anybody for what’s happening to him and literally no one involved had bad intentions but still the result is a kid alone in the world and trying to find his place when he had been created, shaped, molded, for a place that isn’t there anymore. No one was evil, no one wanted to hurt Superboy, but he was created in unfortunate circumstances and then he slipped through the cracks and no one felt it was their responsibility to parent him.
Like why would Lex even clone Superman? It’s completely out of character and goes against his goals? He distrusts Superman for having so much power. He’s racist against aliens and thinks humanity needs to stand on their own with out relying on someone who, in his mind, has no loyalty to them. He wants to make humans (himself) more powerful than Superman, no create another Superman under his control! Ughhhhhhh.
Can comics just rewind back to like right before 2000?
