Mika from Seduce Me the otome

Maybe unpopular opinion but I quite like Mika. While Mika is supposed to yes, represent the player, she has a backstory as well that either get's over looked or invalidated. So here is why Mika will always be one of my favorite MCs

She is super relatable. Micheala Laws could've easily made a character that was all "OmG tHeRe ArE hOt SeX dEmOnS iN mY hOuSe AHhhH" that didn't care about the fact she was being thrown into this world, as long as there were some hot men.

That being said, she isn't an unbelievable amount of badass either. She didn't confront Malix until after knowing he couldn't use magic; you can see her multiple times not be sure if she is making the right choice and allow herself to receive help from whichever incubi you romance.

I also never see anyone discuss the magnitude of shit she was going through. She lost her grandfather who was basically the only real parental figure who she looked up to and wanted to be like, her father treated her as one would treat a trophy while her mother was a push over constantly excusing him because "You know how your father is." Sure, they fed her and put a roof over her head, but at the same time he gave her no room to be a person.

She had been isolated from her grandfather because of some unexplained tension between him and her father, leaving her without her only other real emotional support, which is super detrimental. (other then Suzu and Naomi but that's a rant for another day)

Something I'd also like to point out is that I'm aware she is privileged, but that doesn't take away 18 years of anxiety that constantly having to be a perfect picture of a CEO will do to you.

AND that isn't even counting the amount of shit that happened when she met the boys. (NO HATE TO THE INUBAES)

My point being is that I think Mika as a character is very complex without having to much of an extreme background. I personally think she was a teenage girl who was refused the ability to act her age. (I mean, who forces the 18 year old you just kicked out to throw a house party TWO DAYS after losing someone, in THEIR HOUSE. I just think she deserves more love.

apologizes to Suzu's creator but i'm not gonna post the full rant here. However if they make it to round two i WILL include most of it. i loved looking at it though!

Suzu:

name is stolen from a different character of mine completely unrelated to our life, so the joke doesn't work as well here. i just like the name regardless of it being a bit nonsensical and the "suzy" nickname it leads to. we only have a little bit of the prologue to go off of, so most of this is just my sort of headcanon "plan" for the character (hence the lack of detail the further into the story we go).

short character card style bio: Perhaps not the most adaptable kid in Golden Grove, Suzu prefers the security of the fantasy worlds he dreams up than the uncertainties of other people. Still, he insists on being treated just like anybody else - perhaps to his own detriment when he needs a bit of extra help. Underneath his quiet demeanor and need for stability lie a loyal friend who will accept you no matter who you are. All he needs to let this side of him blossom is for somebody to offer him the same luxury.

Valentim

Valentin is a snow kid, they grew up in a ski station and loves mountains. Moving from her old town felt weird but regardless he decided to become the prettiest kid of all the town. They have a long history of complicated relationships with being confortable with their gender with the pressure of beauty standard. She’s a coquette but very extrovert kid who loves to listen about her friend’s hobbies and see in beauty in everyone and everything.

i have been playing overwatch since season 7 on OW 2, played paladins before that but finally quit after 1000 hours lol, and holy mother of lord. i've been wanting to join comp for a while but never thought i was good enough so i grinded for like 150 hours on other modes first, finally played comp and got my placement. Gold 4 on support like T-T, this matchmaking is ass especially when im relying on having dps to do their job or a tank to not go off on a 3rd season 4th episode side adventure just for a filler arc. im gonna hate grinding to get out of gold frfr cos it was already ass getting in here. i play mostly ana and kiri now cos ana's kit is op and suzu is good counter for anti nade BUT that doesnt matter, today i played lifeweaver after an entire season of not playing him. i got only 10 hours on him so i not good at doing dps but holy mother of lord grip IS SO STRESSFUL. ive never had more stress in my life on this game, i gotta grip at the perfect moments to prevent my team from dying and for tanks sure thats decently easy but for dps thats where the stress comes in.

a venture says ty for the grip and im goated but like ... ngl im still shaking from how hard it was to see any opportunities to save people without pissing them off. spamming grip is fine and all if you wanna be an ass, you cant do it too early or people get pissed at how you ruined their opportunities but do it too late and they get pissed you didnt save them. its PAINN. love getting good grips but holy this character is stressful and ontop of that im still trying to get like 20k heal, stay alive, position better and learn to get kills on this character. the day i can confidently pvp on lifeweaver will be amazing lol.

anyway bit of a more happier rant since its just funny lol, no eggy today just getting stressed at having fun on overwatch lololol.

Imagine the typical love triangle, where two people like one person, or sometimes it's like a chain… or whatever…

Soooooo, by contrast a love asterisk is like, all the different parts of the asterisk come and meet in the middle because EVERYONE likes the person in the middle to some degree or another! I've always loved stories like that! 🤡

Not that I'm gonna get… TOO out of hand… I hope!! I guess that's really subjective! 😭💀 BUT, hopefully that helps answer your question at least a little vaguely!

A lot of people have made some very correct guesses on things, though! (Also Hawks is absolutely like the third most important character to the story, so he has a loooot of weight to him. And, I mentioned this in my comments, so it's fair to mention now: Bakugou does show back up! I did NOT mention this in my comments, but I will ALSO say this: Shouto does, too!

Help! I have a new fave!!! PLUST's MIKOTO AMAMITSU

Mik's story was so good. Freakin hilarious and cute but also involved sentimental themes and emphasized on not giving up your dreams and aspirations. And how much it's comforting to work on your goals together with your partner/friends.

I love this title. It looks very promising so far. After reading Mikoto, I'd recommend it and the guy to everyone who has a similar taste. I'll list some of my forever favs (from Love 365) below so you'll know what I'm into.

MPD CTY, ASA, FILA, RMD, TLH... and PLUST (safe to add now. I think) So you can predict the themes I like now ;)

It took me 3hrs 47 min to binge Mikoto's story which I managed to do during different hours of the day. Spent about 240 hearts to unlock every heart choice and the SHE plus bonus track.

The art and the OST are gorgeous. I wish there's a steam release where I can buy the whole thing in one package with the OST. The OST is that good. It's so worth the effort (in reading a long story with a slow burn plot.)

(Oh this is a slow burn plot, mind you. And I love the stuff lol) The MC is fair enough. At times I cringed a bit, wondered why she wosn't protest when the guys casually get touchy with her. (Oh she does at times but she could grow more strong).

The fan service thing sounded unrealistic but it was still hilarious and cute. I was laughing falling in love not just with Mikoto but all the guys as a whole. They are all amazing. I think I'm gonna read every route. tho at present I have my eyes set on Mik, Wataru alone.

Guys like Claude aren't my type but I'm curious about him. I think Kotoha is a sweet guy, a tsundere. And Ryogo. Well I love childhood friend trouples so I'm gonna read his MS. He was super sweet in Mik story but the guy who stole the show (when it comes to side characters) was: Zeus.

The ThrOne guys. At first I didn't understand MC's obsession, specifically as they described the group is cold to its fans, but then I understood. That's not the scenario. Zeus has me very fascinated. I'll say I like him already. And his attachment to MC means we MAY get to see sparks flying between him and Mik. (I'd love to see Mik getting jealous haha)

Now I ramble about Mik here: Mikoto is a charmer but he's not overbearing or commanding. I only saw a trace of the pushy guys I played and liked in him. Just a trace. He apologizes when he's wrong. He thanks the MC. He encourages her!?

I expected Mikoto to be like Guy or more like Ikesen Nobunaga (both my faves) but he isn't.

Mik is so refreshing, so chill. Just like TLH Suzu was, captivating, with just one main story! He's blunt but not condescending. He's cheeky but with a sweet awkward side to him. He tries to shoulder his burden alone. The slow reveal of his true personality was a treat. I was rooting for him and MC! There were so many moments: them walking the ramp, rehearsing lines... Watching the show a pop star acted in, with the guy, and sharing a highfive? Haha. That's freakin cute. I love Mik and his Ducky.

So by the End of the SHE I'm super content and looking forward to MC and Mik's budding romance to blossom more. Which I expect to happen in MS 2. And anticipating more of the guys while hoping this title wouldn't take forever to get updated. (Well I understand making games isnt easy. I'm willing to wait tbh. But I see some title updates getting rolled out quickly, so)

Ugh! I went into rant mode there. Will post more content tomorrow. (Not much tho and not many spoilers. Don't wanna hit the game's earnings coz... well that's what I do. Be moderate. Everytime this blog is turning more an more into a venting blog i swear...

To be honest at first I did liked Studio Chizu's most recent film 'Belle', however I cannot stop thinking about that first trailer that I saw back in late 2020 and how after watching it I was so hyped expecting an original take on the classic "Beauty and the Beast" tale, heck how the trailer put together the scenes of U with Belle and Dragon gave me the impression the story would follow similar beats to the Disney's film.

I thought "a Mamoru Hosoda film that takes on the story of beauty and the beast in a modern setting and his crazy ass fixation with alternative digital realities? Sign me the fuck in!"

After watching the film I cannot say I didnt like it, the film was still a visual and musical marble and the message and story is quite sweet, even if the delivery felt a bit wonky imo, there were some scenes that felt they were there just to make the film look artsy and just slowed the pace, also I wish there was more time to focus a bit more on how Suzu/Belle developed a bond with Kei/Dragon, because that whole "I sing him a pretty song and suddenly we're buddies" may have looked and sounded amazing but now that I objectively think about it there really is a lack of genuine bonding interactions between characters to actually make me care about anyone besides Kei and his little brother, even Suzu's only important relationship during the movie is with her friend Hiro and that is because she's in the Dragon's quest as well...

Ugh, sorry if my rant is messy, its difficult to really point down some stuff that really frustrated me from an otherwise very visually pleasing movie (heck lately I've constantly going over my fav scenes to get inspo for drawings) at the end I did think is a GOOD movie, but because that bloody trailer gave me such a strong Disney Beauty and the Beast, vibe I really tought I would see an original take on the tale, which again I did liked the flick after a watch, however cannot help feeling a bit cheated on at the end...

Daisuke and Suzue’s Novel Relationship

I just received a crap load of DM’s and asks about Daizue’s relationship in the NOVEL. So I will answer them all here for everyone to see.

1. Daisuke and Suzue are NOT engaged in the novel.

2. Daisuke and Suzue are NOT married in the novel.

3. Daisuke’s work colleagues from Division 1 THINKS Daisuke and Suzue are engaged.

4. In BOTH alternate endings, Daisuke proposes to Suzue. Ending 1 is when Suzue ACCEPTS his proposal to marry him. Ending 2 is when she REJECTS his proposal to marry him. The reader CHOOSES which ending they would like. It is ALL UP IN THE AIR according to the author. The author could not decide that is why there are two alternate endings.

5. Suzue is very fond of Daisuke. She has overt romantic feelings for him. It is heavily, heavily implied in the novel that she loves Daisuke very much.

6. Daisuke is oblivious to Suzue’s feelings, but he has SUPPRESSED romantic feelings for Suzue that does not manifest until the very end when he proposes to her.

7. So yes, Daisuke and Suzue do like each other romantically in the novel, one is just overt about it, the other is subconsciously covert about it.

Now can people PLEASE STOP spreading misinformation all over the place! I am so sick of seeing all these posts about them being engaged/married omfg.

FERB AND VANESSA AS FOUND SIBLINGS please it’s SUCH a good take on their dynamic. it’s got all the established mutual respect and affection with none of the creepy age gaps. let vanessa be ferb’s cool punk older sister who introduces him to new music and teaches him how to effectively fend off sensory overload at otherwise fun events and highkey enjoys the normal-ish sibling shaped dynamic after growing up as an only child with shaky relationships with her parents

candace being portrayed as mentally ill and not in the ‘hurr durr candace is hallucinating everything because all children’s content must be secretly edgy for me to enjoy it’ way but like a genuinely serious well-written portrayal of it. i personally hc her to have obsessive-compulsive disorder [in addition to autism and general anxiety because it’s my neurodivergence and i get to slap it on every character i look at] since her obsession with busting phineas and ferb really reads like a compulsion the way it’s presented, but honestly i’ll take anything if it’s respectfully written and makes the most of all the very clear hints in her behaviour. somehow i haven’t posted about this yet i don’t think?? but come on it’s such a great take on her character i promise
