i am almost running out of videos of them to gif, which is on hold right now because of showaddywaddy taking over my life. i do plan to get back into it though, while also going back to posting other bands. just not quite yet. as far as gifs go, at least.

im sure this has been posted about before, but lately ive been thinking how consuming media your friends recommend is such an intimate act :o

like first off theres the act of trusting someone's judgement to step outside of your usual purview

then like taking the time to consume, digest, and respond to it?? everyone loves being able to talk about things they enjoy, and at the very least you're increasing your understanding of a world or a character or some lyrics with the end result of havjng better coversations with your friend about it

and then finally like if it clicks, you get the added benefit of processing something that expands your own worldview and to some degree changes you as a person.

like imo everyone is a collection of the stories that they've heard, and a good one can sit with you for the rest of your life. And every time you think back on it you'll also remember the friend who saw it first and thought you should see it. everything we experience is colored by how we were introduced to it :0
