The One Thing I Can’t Sacrifice | Bruce Wayne/Batman & Clark Kent/Superman ft OC!Magician
Synopsis: During the events of The Death of Superman. Clark Kent/Superman is torn between his duty to protect the world without bias and admitting to Lois the truth of his identity. As he goes back and forth about it, he approaches the last man who the JLA would ever ask for dating advice.

“Now, let’s check in with Dana for Entertainment Weekly with the going ons on the limelight, Dana?”
“Hey, Carol, right across the harbor, billionaire-philanthropist and no-longer-playboy, Bruce Wayne, has just opened a new school under the Wayne Foundation with the help of his girlfriend, Symbologist and Art Historian, Professor Vivian Pryor.
“Pryor is said to have donated a large sum from her latest book publication to the Wayne Foundation to help build the school and provide the materials needed by the teachers and students. In its first grand opening, Gotham’s celebrity couple was found teaching in a couple classes and giving a helping hand, and
”
The screen shifted from the video of Vivian teaching the children in the classroom, to a shot of Bruce and Vivian getting caught kissing at the hall by a random stranger’s phone. They immediately broke the kiss when they heard the laughter from the kids and then Bruce’s ward, Dick Grayson, throwing a chalkboard eraser at Bruce’s head.
“...and reliving some high school fun, if you know what I mean. Next up, it looks like one of the Kardashian are—”
Lois turned down the volume of the T.V. in the office and rolled her chair to the desk behind her, to Catherine Grant. “You know just because Wayne’s going to be our boss, doesn’t mean he should be getting more fluffy-screentime with his girlfriend.”
Cat scoffed. “It looks like Perry wants to be on the new boss’ good side. Nothing bad about that, it would mean he won’t forget us from his roster. It’s always good to have the big man upstairs's favor, you know.”
Lois laughed. “I thought you were an atheist, Cat.”
“Well, the man signs my checks, and who isn’t devoted to money, right?” Cat then paused on her work and turned to Lois to ask,“Don’t you think she’s a bit too young for him?ïżœïżœÂ
“Six years isn’t that far off, right? I mean, they’re both adults now so no problem there.” she shrugged. “And I don’t have anything against her if she has a certain type for older men.”
“And the fact Bruce Wayne is the last eligible bachelor in Gotham,” Cat sighed. “And come on, it’s Bruce Wayne. The guy’s been a billionaire since he was a kid.”
Due to unfortunate circumstances, Lois wanted to add but kept it to herself.
“Didn’t they break-up though?”
“They never officially said they did,” Lois went back to her desk. “But if they did, it looks like they’re doing fine. But
would you go back together with someone who just adopted a kid? I mean, how would that work, right?”
“I think it’s going well with them,” Clark spoke up from his desk. “I’ve been getting something from contacts that Vivian Pryor is seen with Dick Grayson around Gotham. She even picks him up from school too.”
“But what about the kid, how is he with that arrangement?” Cat asked.
“He doesn’t seem to mind,” his phone started to ring. “Excuse me, I got to take this.” He quickly got up and left for the exit.
“Must be important,” Cat told Lois. “Don’t you have an interview later with the big S?”
“Yeah, I do. Why?”
“Because that,” Cat pointed to the television that showed a live feed of a bank robbery made by some gangs wearing tech that’s far too high-tech for a regular gig. Then, in the middle of the battle, Superman appeared and single-handedly apprehended the gang. “Looks like your interview is going to be pushed.”
“Yeah right,” Lois got up from her seat and took her bag. “I gotta get going too. Considering Superman’s already in the scene, I should meet up with him at STAR Labs soon.”
~ * ~
Vivian sighed as she watched Dick be escorted by the Headmaster down the hall to where she was standing by the receptionist of Gotham Academy. The boy had a frown on his face and only looked at the ground as he walked up to her.
“Thank you, Headmaster Wilson,” she said as she took Dick under her wing.
“This is very unconventional, but Dick insisted that we contact you instead because Mr. Wayne is busy for the day,” the Headmaster said but from the looks of it, he didn’t believe it at all and only gave the boy a pass by calling her.
“Yeah, Bruce is swamped at work now.” Not exactly a lie, he was busy in Wayne Tower and with the Justice League. “I’ll take him home
 and about his suspension
”
“It was a misunderstanding, and we’ve talked to his teacher about it too. Ms. Carols won’t be using that as a slur again.”
“Hey, Dick, how about you wait over there,” Vivian pointed to the bench far enough so he wouldn’t hear what she was going to discuss with the Headmaster.
“Viv, let’s just go,” Dick muttered.
“It’ll only take a minute, kiddo, then we’ll head to my place first.” Reluctantly, Dick went to the bench. Turning back to the Headmaster, Vivian said in a softer voice, “I don’t think, after this, Dick and Ms. Carols will be in good terms.”
“I assure you, Professor Pryor, our teachers are professionals and they put the students first—”
“I know, and I don’t doubt that, but we’re human, Mr. Wilson, and I think it would benefit him and her if Dick were to transfer to another class. He’s a smart boy and really good with making friends.”
Mr. Wilson sighed. “I understand your point, Professor Pryor, but you’re technically not the boy’s guardian. We can’t take that request unless this is brought to us by Mr. Wayne. We’re already making a huge risk by letting you pick him up when you’re not—legally—his guardian.”
“I know
but if I do talk to Bruce about this, will you consider?”
Mr. Wilson thought for a while then said, “He’ll need to make a good and convincing point for the transfer.”
“Thank you, thank you so much! I’ll go talk to him about it.”
After a quick goodbye, Vivian went to Dick and took his bag from the bench and said, “Come on. Let’s go, we got a bus to catch.”
“You didn’t bring a car?” Dick asked, feeling more guilty now that he found out she had to commute all the way from Gotham University to fetch him.
“Bruce drove me to work earlier.”
“I’m not sorry about what I did. But I am sorry for making you take the long commute and make you miss work.”
Vivian sighed, she squatted down to meet Dick’s eye and took his hands. “It’s okay. I’m here for you, kiddo. Okay?”
“Are you telling Bruce?”
Another sigh. “Yeah, because technically, I’m not your guardian. And if it weren’t for your cool Headmaster, this is considered kidnapping. Let’s go.”
The two of them walked down the pavement, leaving Gotham Academy, and went to the bus stop where, just in time, a bus appeared. They got in, Vivian paid their fare, and sat at the farthest seat. From the window seat, Dick watched as the bus passed Gotham Academy and later the other buildings in the block.
“Today’s actually
” Dick trailed off.
“I know, Alfred told me,” Vivian took his hand. “You shouldn’t have gone to school if you didn’t want to.”
“I thought I could handle it, but then Ms. Carols called the class a circus because we were being kids and were playing around
and not in a good way too. I just snapped.”
Vivian took his hand and held it tight. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s not your fault,” Dick slouched on his seat and rest his head against Vivian’s shoulder. “Can I stay over at your place for a while?”
“I have to ask Bruce about it first, kiddo.”
“Please.”
She wrapped an arm around him and brought him close. “Okay, I’ll tell him.”
~ * ~
Later that night, as Dick slept in Vivian’s bed, a knock came to the condo’s door, and without checking who it was—she didn’t have to since the magical seal on the door didn’t show any sign of threat in the area—she opened the door and found Bruce standing there holding take outs.
“He’s asleep,” she told him.
“You’re not,” he said and then gestured to the bag he held. “It’s your favorite
 and his.”
Stepping aside, Vivian lets him in and opens the lights at her kitchen so they could unwrap the food on the counter. Bruce maneuvered around the area with familiarity, he knew where the plates and forks were, the glasses, and her bottle of scotch. He got her alfredo pasta from the restaurant in Little Italy.
“I’m sorry if I overreacted earlier,” Bruce began as he set down her plate.
“Well, if you ask me, you reacted just right for a parent whose kid was picked up from school by a stranger,” she chuckled.
“But you’re not a stranger.”
“Being your girlfriend doesn’t automatically make me Dick’s guardian.”
“I think they should consider
 if you want to.”
“I like Dick, he reminds me of my brother and sister.”
“Both of them?”
“Oli is sweet and calm, Livia is active and would get into fights. I’d say Dick’s the best of both worlds.”
Bruce took a fork full of pasta and only when he swallowed did he say, “Then maybe we should consider getting married so you can be Dick’s legal guardian.”
Vivian laughed. “Yeah, and when the press asked us why the quick wedding, what do we tell them? Because of Dick?”
Bruce also laughed but deep down it wasn’t just about Dick. He couldn’t imagine another person spending his life with someone other than her. He told her then, when he begged her to be with him again, he didn’t want this to end. She makes him happy, he makes him feel alive, and content. She was pulling him out of the pit he’s been in since his parents’ death.
“So, about his teacher,” Bruce began.
“I don’t have anything against her, but after today I think it’s best if Dick moves to another class. It’ll be hard for both of them.”
“You’re right
did you tell the Headmasterabout it?”
“I did but
”
“You’re not his legal guardian to make the request.”
“Exactly, you’re learning fast, Wayne,” she ate another twirl of pasta and then some garlic bread.
“I’ll talk to the Headmaster about this. In the meantime
Maybe time off from school would be good. Let him rest tomorrow.”
“Today was the anniversary
” Vivian trailed off.
“It is
 and I still haven’t
”
“Hey Batman,” Vivian caressed his cheek. “Don’t be too hard on yourself.”
Bruce smiled softly, he then took her hand and kissed her palm and just nuzzled his cheek in her hold, relaxing in her warmth and the comforting feeling of her magic that spread from her body to his. Leaning down, Bruce kissed her lips before saying, “I still have time before I head out for patrol. I’ll set up the sofabed for us.”
“Warning. It’s not as soft as your bed in the manor.”
“I’m sure I can manage, besides, you’ll be with me.”
~ * ~
“Okay, next up, the operating budget for the fiscal year,” Cyborg went on with their meeting agenda. It was another Justice League meeting, and it was one of the rare times when everyone was present—Green Lantern, the Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Hawkman, Superman, and Batman. Since it was the last few things on their agenda, most of the heroes were already standing rather than sitting down. Batman was ready to leave once Cyborg finishes up the agenda.
“Utilities are above what the UN cleared for funding, guys,” said Cyborg.
“I’ll handle it. Move on, Cyborg,” said Batman.
“Wonder Woman merchandise did very well this year. I can step up when the Wayne Foundation falls short,” said Diana.
Batman paused and then turned to Diana, “You’re kidding, right?”
Does she know that one of Wayne Enterprises’ subsidiaries is selling those merchandise? Then there was the fact that Vivian has issued another check to donate to the Justice League if ever they need some extra funding.
“Okay, okay. Let’s just agree we have this covered. What else?” Barry said.
“Just the Excalibur incident. Only three bodies recovered,” said Cyborg.
“I’ve got my guards investigating the impact area,” Aquaman reported. “S.T.A.R. Labs wanted some rock samples.”
“Alright, if that’s it, we’ll meet next Thursday. Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.”
“I won’t be here,” Batman spoke.
“Why?” Wonder Woman questioned.
“Yeah, if I can be here, you can be here,” said Flash.
“Dude, it takes you all of three seconds to get here and back!” Green Lantern told the Flash.
“Two at most, but point taken.”
“I have a meeting with the Headmaster at Dick’s boarding school.”
“No way!” that got the Green Lantern’s attention. “Batman has parent-teacher conference? That’s great!”
“Are you in the PTA too? Tell me you’re in the PTA,” Barry grinned.
He was but he won’t tell them that. In fact, Vivian’s been part of the PTA meetings and has been a huge help with setting up for Founder’s Week too.
Then, with balls of steel, the Flash got up, had two fingers at the back of his head and mimicked Batman’s deep voice as he said: “I’m Batman. We need more chaperones for homecoming. Who has to be convinced to sign up?” He laughed nervously as Batman glared at him. “I’m just joking, I think that’s great
is he still glaring at me?”
“For your information, I am and so is Vivian. That’s also the reason why I won’t be able to attend next week,” Batman told them. “She can’t stay at Gotham Academy without me during those meetings.”
Barry and Hal turned to him.
“Holy shit!” Hal said.
“Hold on, they let your girlfriend into the PTA?” Barry raised a brow. “How?!”
“She’s very convincing.”
At that comment, Superman turned to Batman a little surprised about Batman’s transparent relationship with his girlfriend of—what? Three years, counting the time they were on an unofficial break.
“We could’ve just pushed the meeting back to that evening,” said Cyborg.
“Ah, can’t. I’ve got rehearsal dinner that night,” said Barry.
“Is he in a play?” asked Martian Manhunter..
“He’s getting married. Somehow,” said Batman.
“Yup, married the next day,” the Flash couldn’t help his smile. “Limos, banquet hall, DJ, the whole shebang. Just immediate family, you understand?”
“Then I guess I should tell Vivian to stop looking for wedding gifts,” Batman smirked.
“How did she—right, you knew and you told her
but hey, just because it’s an intimate wedding doesn’t mean we’re not welcoming presents!”
Batman only hummed response.
“Does Iris know?” Superman asked.
“She better. She picked the date,” Barry told him.
“No, I mean, does she know about you?”
“Are you kidding? I told her ages ago.”
“Oh, geez, Supes. You can’t drop a bomb like that on a honeymoon,” said Aquaman.
“But aren’t you worried?”
“About what?” Flash raised a brow.
“About bringing her into your world? The dangers, the sacrifice
”
“Clark, that’s what marriage is all about.”
As Clark sat there, contemplating, the rest of the Justice League went to congratulate Barry.
“This calls for a toast. We got some beer in the fridge. Don’t worry, we got some milk for you, Bats,” Hal teased him.
Batman only hummed in annoyance.
They got up to head to the breakroom and have their celebration, but Batman made an excuse to head back to Gotham. The others whined, Hal even said: “Hey, Bats, no one wants a clingy boyfriend.” But they didn’t stop him. As Batman went to the door, Superman followed him.
“Bruce, can we talk?”
Bruce turned to him, thought for a moment, then agreed.
They went to the roof of one of the highest towers in the city and stood there to watch over the place as they spoke.
“What is it about?” Bruce asked him.
“You know, of all the members of the League, you’re the last person I expected to be so transparent in your relationship,” said Clark.
Bruce sighed. “If I could help it, I might have done what you’re doing now. I would have hidden it from her for as long as I could until she decided to
 but that wasn’t the case.”
“How did you tell her?”
Batman turned to him, he looked him in the eye as he said, “I didn’t. She found out?”
“What?”
“There’s something I never told the League. Vivian has magic. She’s a witch, Clark,” when he saw that the Kryptonian was stunned to silence, he continued. “She didn’t find out using her magic, she found out by herself.” A smile crept to his lips as he remembered her words. “But she hadn’t, the same thoughts would be running through my head right now
how will I keep her safe? Will I only bring her more danger if I tell her the truth?”
“And?”
“But then I remember. When we were captured by Deacon Blackfire, it was Vivian who saved me from the mob from getting torn to pieces. Despite having lost practice in using her magic, she used her magic to save me. Then she kept proving it to me as I visited her as Batman. She was practicing in her condo, studying old spellbooks, casting simple spells

“I only realized later that it was her way of telling me that I don’t have to worry about her. She can protect herself. Then, in one of my visits, she slipped and called me by my name. And I ran. I didn’t contact her for a while.”
“The unofficial breakup,” Clark realized.
“Exactly, but I went back to her, and she took me back. She even took in my ward as if he were her own.”
“And what about the danger, are you worried about that?”
“Everyday, but Vivian Pryor is one stubborn woman. She’s a force all on her own
and Barry’s right, that’s what marriage is all about.”
Clark smirked. “But you’re not married, Bruce.”
“I’m not
 yet.”
“Can I quote you on that?”
“No.”
~ Many Days Later ~
Superman was dead.
The news shocked everywhen when they saw the end of the battle between that alien monster against the Justice League. As a member of the Justice League, Batman was present during the funeral and stood alongside the others, amongst the crowd, behind the fence, Vivian and Dick accompanied Clark Kent’s parents as they mourned the death of their son.
The tragedy of it all, the Kents weren’t even allowed to go near the tomb as they were just “civilians”.
Later that night, as they returned to Gotham. Vivian went to the cave after consoling Dick, he did just witness the hero he idolized die, she went to the cave where Bruce has been making himself busy since their return.
He’s been working tirelessly on a machine after a rigorous workout to punish himself for not being enough to save Clark. His friend.
“Bruce,” Vivian touched his shoulder, startling him from welding the steel plates. No words said, she only opened her arms to him. Bruce put down the tools, removed the gloves and the goggles, and fell to his knees and wrapped his arms around her. Vivian held him, running her hand through his sweaty hair, and let him feel what he was bottling up inside.
“I can go find him—”
“No,” his hold on her tightened. “Clark was a friend. One who I care about but no
I won’t risk you, Viv. No more traveling to the land of the dead.”
“Not even for your friend?”
“No. Not when it means risking your life to do it.”
Vivian got down to be at his level and pressed her forehead against his.
“Then let me stay here with you, and mourn with you.”

@smileything US: "Ah hei og velkommen my friend." Me: *I look up from my notes* "You speak Norwegian?" US: "I speak any language carried on the backs of those who came to this nation seeking freedom and prosperity for their children. You looked at the demographics of the upper Midwest recently?" Me: "Touche." US: *He inspects the question, rubbing his forefinger and thumb over his eyes and the bridge of his nose* "Those children..." *He slumps back in his chair* "I know 'em well, instantly in my mind's eye. Cherry Bomb, Ladybug, Betsy Ross and Molly Pitcher. I have all these memories of them tagging along on adventures, hanging around at our ankles during meetings. The light they brought to the grim lives we led in those days." *He clenches his fist until it shakes* "And we left them here, on this world, thinking they would be safe. That the war was won. They could go on about their lives again even as we rushed off to the next war. And someone took them from us. Not the years from their lives and mark my words if I find out who stole these children from my comrades who are no longer with us I aim to CORRECT the unfairness of that cruelty." "...as of now, they're safe. Being looked after by myself and some of the heroes who followed in their mentors' boots. I've half a mind to never let them out of my sight again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *We took a small break at that moment and came back to the questions the next day when Sam had been able to recover from that emotional heavy dose* Me: "This one seems to be a hot topic." US: "It's a natural curiosity to have once I explain who and what I am. The short answer is yes. There are lots of spirits like me and not just for the big nations you might expect." Me: "So there's one for EVERY country?" US: "More than that. For people groups, tribes, communities in disapora. The nation makes the spirit, not the other way around. Any group that has members who can give energy to a spirit, there a spirit is. Lots of the bigger ones are like me. Some take forms a whole lot less human than I tend to. Some of the smaller ones are barely able to take physical form at all, I'd have trouble describing them." Me: "A symbologist or heraldist would ask you to." US: "Those people are, to put it kindly, up my breeches every day of the year anyhow." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Me: "I've told the story of your travels to Earth X in broad strokes before but people want to know how you came upon knowing it in the first place." US: "It was an accident, sure enough. Born out of honest to god desperation on the Ratzi's part. By '45 they were grasping at straws. Anything they could think of that might turn the war around, all while Uncle Joe was flattening them into Hamburger and taking big steps toward Berlin with every sunrise." Me: "So the gate to Earth X was some kind of Wonder Weapon?" US: "Something along that line. The Freedom Fighters, me, Black Condor, Phantom Lady, Human Bomb, Doll Man and The Ray smashed into one of their little mole holes and found the gate. Best we could tell their plan was to bring the victorious Nazi army through the gate and sweep over the world with it. We stopped them from putting that in action but...none of us could really put the thought away." Me: "A world being under Nazi tyranny?" US: "I'm no old coot. I understand how the multiverse works. There's infinite realities where the rats got some version of what they wanted...still...there weren't infinite universes in front of us. Just the one. And millions of people who needed heroes." Me: "You had just finished fighting a war. None of you could have been eager to fight another one, on worse ground, against a worse version of the same enemy." US: "'Course not! It was the damn dumbest thing any of us ever did...but in the days after the war. After what they dragged poor Sandra through in their little dog and pony show. None of us felt too attached to the world that didn't want us anymore anyhow." Me: "So you went through?" US: "More complicated than that, but yes, in the end. We even picked up another version of Rod Reiley, the original Firebrand over there. 'Course, just like the version here the brave idgit held the door for us when it was finally time to come home..." *Uncle Sam takes a sharp breath in, then out* US: "I still think about Rod damn near every day. We knew him so well. For decades, really. And he never got to cross the threshold into the world he deserved. 'Suppose it was in his nature to hold the door like a proper gentleman."

đŸ„±The POST-Aries Eclipse
😑✹
æœˆæ›œæ—„ă€‚8æ—„4月2024ćčŽ
19° Aries: (Libra Degree) from [Sabian Symbologist],
“Only Your Soul Knows For Sure”
“
a symbol of periodic expansion of man’s freedom of spirit and soul through his widely winging interest far removed from his normal promise,” What comes from this understanding yourself before understanding others. Being YOURSELF in the CROWD. A standout.
However, they even state that detaching too much (dissociation) may lead to “scorn” from responsibilities. Healthy detachment is okay. Just be careful to dissociate yourself from everything. Feeling too much of nothing can STILL be feeling something.
(More of my experiences under the cut)
It’s like ever since this eclipse on Monday the 8th, the energy around me has been much more light and open to my energy. Like I can move on and get stuff done. I no longer feel hunkered down as I feel like I can let grudges, bygones, fucked interactions with people (mind the Aries Mercury retrograde) and forgetfulness go.
Not to mention that when I just look forward and keep on keeping on, do I “breathe in” revitalizing energy. I feel like I can take in something new as my friends and career shift to both of what’s needed of me and what are my desires.
Another thing to note was the Eclipse occurred right on my 11th house cusp. If I could call it my Secondhand Midhaven I would. My SM. Cause that’s made my work and creative life so much more passionate and enjoyable. All because of letting things, emotions, and people that did not suit me at all
.go.
It feels like that first rainy day after a long brutal heatwave. I can finally feel at ease and hop onto my work.
Extra little notes of what my latest experiences were like:
I started roleplays that go episode by episode in a show and we’ve been doing our own spins on it (creative juices a’flowing babyyyyy)
Spiritual downloads of ideologies that currently don’t exist but may come these next few decades. Something aligned with (again,) Creativity, Chaos, Common Knowledge, Sensibility, Laughter, Understanding divine timing
. TRUE Healing too (not running away or asking too much from therapy. Cause if you’re not growing yourself day by day (of course with a little advice but not too much to over rely) there’s no way).
Just being around friends who understand me. Being around people who are just here for a good time. Fighting only takes so much out of the human spirit. Gotta remember that night will hit and the hay needs someone to rest against it.
Tumblr media
Some music I found that matched what it feels like coming out of that eclipse.
This one mainly being the sole reason why I love my state (and how lucky we are to get totality even if it was cloudy as fuck. PEOPLE STILL GOT TOGETHER TO HANG OUT)
I salute to you Texas. May the lone star state shine forever in our proud favor.
I’ve also dabbled in more Nu Metal because of the crazy war vibes from Aries alone.
Another song from Cowboy Carter that just makes me feel so ready to jump out there and smile:

đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«Pre-Solar: in betweenâ€ŠđŸ€Ź
é‡‘æ›œæ—„ă€‚5æ—„4月2024ćčŽ
Tumblr media
Now that I think more on some stuff:
This is a side track where it was IN-BETWEEN the two eclipses from Libra Lunar and Aries Solar.
I saw The First Omen and good god did it make me feel the uncomfortableness of it all within that eclipse cycle. It scared me five times not gonna lie. And I haven’t cringed harder than I have since then.
What surprised me was that the Astrology for WHEN EXACTLY I went also lined up with something.
Tumblr media
Moon (Emotions/Feelings) conjunct with Mars (Intensity/Drive) and Saturn (Structure/Discipline + Nihilism/Realism). Saturn tends to put pressure on systems it seems unfit or not suitable for the others around. A “YOU BEST GIT YOUR ACT TOGETHER” energy. ESPECIALLY WITH MARS. Not to mention Pisces rules religious beliefs and ideologies that are overwhelmingly large and complex. Combining all four

also added onto the fact that said movie watched was The First Omen

It made me understand something
.
That movie was about Religious Dogmatism and you couldn’t tell me otherwise! (Do tell me otherwise LMAO)
đŸŸđŸ”„đŸȘ
Much love to the astrology community guys. Hope you guys have been eating well and doing your best to protect your energy cause the world wants to bring yours down every day no matter what form.

Kurai - "The Equinox Sage" (Balance Mage)
Quote: "Balance is neither good nor evil; it simply is."
Equilibrium is not simply an option; it is a powerful presence, a fundamental reality, an essential principle of life. This roving sorcerer comprehends this complex truth more deeply than anyone else, yet the realm surrounding him has descended into turmoil due to the unyielding grasp of the Dark Kingdom. Once held in high esteem among his peers, he turned away from the strict doctrines of his kin, embarking on a journey where no deities or tyrants dictate the course of destiny. Now, together with his partner and "spirit guide", he traverses from one town to another, casting spells to restore the fragile thing that is balance...
"Chaos fades away. Order endures. You were just unfortunate enough to be trapped in the middle."
Tumblr media
Kikyo - "The Veiled Symbologist" (Warlock)
Quote: "'Magic exists to serve man?' ...Peh, what utter nonsense."
Human beings are feeble, self-centered beings, often leading to ruin and lacking in respect. This demonic entity realized this truth long ago when her family fell victim to those who regarded alchemy and magic simply as instruments rather than revered arts. Now, she roams as a pariah, the solitary figure brave enough to venture along the forsaken paths where creatures hide and spirits murmur. The Dark Kingdom has offered a substantial bounty on her head for her crimes against humanity. Many have sought to capture her for it. Yet none, but one, have succeeded...
"Intrude upon my domain if you wish. It will be the last mistake you ever make."
Tumblr media
Rin - "The One Who Exists Between Worlds" (Spectral Whisperer)
Quote: "Did... you... hear... that? ...No? ...Then... I... was... never... here."
She holds no memories, not of her arrival into the world, her departure, or why her essence clings to existence. Logically, she shouldn't be here, yet she lingers in a realm that overlooks her presence. She observes the living from the fringes of reality, invisible and silent. Then, one fateful day, someone noticed her, not the terrified townsfolk or the priests eager to banish her spirit, but a mage in pursuit of equilibrium and a witch weighed down by grief. Through their intervention, she dodged the brink of oblivion. Now, she journeys alongside them, searching for clarity, for purpose, for an explanation of her enduring connection to this life. Whether this quest will lead to salvation, chaos, or something entirely unexpected
 only time will reveal.
"Even... now... you... won't... remember... me. ...That... is... fine."

While in Paris, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is awakened by a phone call in the dead of the night. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, his body covered in baffling symbols. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci—clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter. Even more startling, the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion—a secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci—and he guarded a breathtaking historical secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle—while avoiding the faceless adversary who shadows their every move—the explosive, ancient truth will be lost forever.

NU
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"A man and a woman meet in 1960. They marry because that’s what you are supposed to do. But something goes wrong on their wedding night. They have no idea what to do with each other. Sexually. Emotionally. The husband meets a man who knows what to do with his sexuality." - From MUBI website
It is a short film easy to understand even with just the sound of fabric, steps and kisses. There is also a lot of symbologist with the deep water and doors. While watching NU I felt my heart freezing because this is what the film does with the viewer. In the end, we can hear "Elise, why nobody is saying anything?"
Directed by Simon Staho and starring Mads Mikkelsen, this Danish short film is highly recommended.

Writing a Strong Premise That Checks All the Boxes
To begin, a strong story premise sets the foundation for an engaging narrative. It can be anywhere between a single sentence to a short paragraph -- I, myself, tend to write both ways and think slightly-longer premises are just fine. It depends on how to-the-point you want your premise to be for a quick summary, or if a longer one offers more context to have it make more sense. The goal is to communicate the heart of your story efficiently in simple terms without overwhelming the reader.
First, here's some examples of strong premises:
"A smart young girl, raised by uncaring parents, discovers she has magical powers which she uses to teach her tyrannical headmistress a lesson." - (Matilda, by Roald Dahl)
"A rehearsal is in progress when the actors are suddenly interrupted by six mysterious people, who demand to be put in a play. They are the characters of a story yet to be written." - (Six Characters in Search of An Author, by Luigi Pirandello)
"When world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to a Swiss research facility to analyze a mysterious symbol—seared into the chest of a murdered physicist—he discovers evidence of the unimaginable: the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati
the most powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth." - (Angels and Demons, by Dan Brown)
Not only is your story condensed to one sentence (or two, or three...), but it should, at the very least, be understandable enough to the potential reader, not only providing a short summary that hits the boxes we will discuss here, but also asking a main question that arises from the premise (such as: will the main character succeed in their plans, or will they fail in the longrun?). The idea of the main question is a whole new can of worms that makes me want to write a new post in of itself, so for now, let’s just get into the elements of a good premise.
Here are some points to ensure your premise is strong enough and compelling:
1. The Protagonist: Introduce the main character(s) and their primary goal or desire. Draw attention to what makes them more important and stand out from others. Keep in mind as you write: Why is this their story to tell
what makes them the prime candidate worth experiencing this story?
2. The Antagonist / Opposition: You don’t necessarily have to dive into the villain and their motivations in your premise, if you have one, but you should mention the forces, people or not, that stand in the way of the protagonist. This opposition often drives conflict and tension.
2. External Conflict: Branching off from the last step, a strong premise often includes inherent conflict and high stakes. Identify what's at stake for your protagonist, what they want, and what obstacles they face in achieving their goals. What does the protagonist have to gain or lose?
3. Internal Conflict: On the flip side of the prior step, also be sure consider the internal struggles or dilemmas the protagonist may face. This could be emotional, moral, or psychological challenges that add depth to their journeys. You could hint at potential character growth or change.
4. Exploration of Themes: A good premise hints at the themes your story will explore. Think about the underlying messages or ideas your premise conveys. Also think about the emotional impact of your premise: does it evoke curiosity, excitement, fear, or empathy?
Remember that a strong premise isn't just about a catchy or original idea, but also about how well it sets the stage for the narrative to unfold. It should capture your audience's imagination and make them eager to read your story.
Feedback can be a useful tool to determine whether or not your story’s premise is strong enough. Don’t be afraid to share your premise with others: get different perspectives to understand how your premise resonates with different readers, see if their expectations align with your own or challenge you to think outside of the box. Refine your premise through multiple iterations — expand through various plot points or characters for different outcomes. Open your mind to new possibilities until there’s one that really sticks with you.
Also remember that your premise doesn’t have to contain every element or plot device of your story — that will be apparent in the finished product. For now, take the points that are most important, especially the ones that make you most excited to share this story in the first place.

We're back at our nonsense again. Five Slayers and five Star Ocean Valentines! Stay tuned for February 14th where @Kelissa will post them all in a nice, printable format.
Sexy symbologists are a staple of the Star Ocean series, and I find these two quite similar. They'd either hit it off beautifully or hate each other, but with their personalities I'd imagine they'd like each other.

With his masterful storytelling and a labyrinthine plot, Brown once again proves himself as a maestro of the thriller genre. Brace yourself for a thrilling and thought-provoking experience that will leave you questioning the very fabric of our world.
Engaging Narrative:
From the very first page, 'Inferno' grips readers with a relentless pace, immersing them in the exhilarating life of Robert Langdon, the esteemed symbologist. Brown skillfully blends history, art, and technology to create an intellectual labyrinth that challenges both the protagonist and the readers. As Langdon races against time to decipher cryptic symbols and solve mind-bending puzzles, readers find themselves on the edge of their seats, eagerly turning each page in anticipation of what lies ahead.
Unveiling the Enigma:
At the core of 'Inferno' lies a mysterious and morally complex puzzle, inspired by Dante Alighieri's epic poem, 'The Divine Comedy.' Brown ingeniously weaves together historical secrets, hidden symbols, and ethical dilemmas, leaving readers questioning their own perception of right and wrong. With each revelation, the layers of the enigma peel away, exposing shocking truths that shake the very foundation of Langdon's world and our own.

Thought-Provoking Themes:
Beyond the pulse-pounding plot, 'Inferno' delves into profound themes that linger long after the book is finished. Brown raises thought-provoking questions about overpopulation, the delicate balance between progress and preservation, and the ethical conundrums we face in a world teetering on the edge. His narrative serves as a wake-up call, urging readers to confront the moral dilemmas of our time and consider the consequences of our actions.
A Visual Feast:
Dan Brown's meticulous attention to detail and vivid descriptions paint a vibrant canvas that brings the exotic locations of 'Inferno' to life. From the mystical streets of Florence to the ancient halls of Istanbul, readers are transported to breathtaking landscapes, immersing themselves in the sights, sounds, and scents of each setting. The rich tapestry of art, architecture, and history enhances the narrative, making 'Inferno' a feast for the senses.
Conclusion:
'Inferno' is a literary inferno itself—a gripping, intellectually stimulating, and exhilarating masterpiece by Dan Brown. With its mesmerizing blend of art, history, and heart-pounding suspense, this novel will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Prepare to embark on an extraordinary journey where secrets are unveiled, codes are broken, and the line between salvation and damnation becomes increasingly blurred. Brace yourself for an unforgettable adventure into the depths of 'Inferno.'

@sacraementals / Diana: ❛What aren’t you telling me?❜
Tumblr media
"Wh-what aren't I—" Time coils about him, the stone walls decked and gilded with a couple of centuries worth of artifacts. An image of an ouroboros, repeated, repainted, recast, mocks him and he feels his frustration rise. Boil over.
( Yet, the veiled excitement... The symbologist is choking on it. )
He breathes out, and grasps a fistful of tangled hair, pulling it back, the Harris Tweed climbing over his already creased shirt. That's what another sleepless night and a three-thousand-mile trip does to a person.
"What aren't you telling me, Diana? Who are these people? Who was that man? A-and don't tell me your husband again because i saw you — what? — just last month, and none of this was relevant then."
Tumblr media
"I'm-I'm not engaging in any of this any further until you tell me what's actually going on here."

Currently spiraling through the weird part of the internet again
It started, as these things often do, with a random question: what is Agartha? Cue two hours of reading about a mythical city allegedly located in the Hollow Earth, sometimes accessed through secret tunnels in the Himalayas or Antarctica. Depending on who you ask, it’s a utopia ruled by enlightened beings, or a Nazi UFO base powered by Vril energy and esoteric blood magic. Somewhere between Theosophy and science fiction, Agartha lives on in the undercurrents of conspiracy lore, waiting for the right Google search to resurface.
But then the spiral widened. I remembered this thing about the Dogon tribe in Mali, who supposedly knew about Sirius B—an invisible white dwarf star orbiting Sirius A—long before Western astronomers could verify its existence. This dragged me into The Sirius Mystery by Robert Temple, where the claim is that this African tribe had knowledge so advanced it could only have come from extraterrestrial beings. Specifically, aquatic, amphibious entities called the Nommo, who descended from the Sirius system and gifted humanity with cosmological truths. The Dogon describe them as half-fish, half-human—a kind of cosmic merman species who brought language, science, and the secrets of the stars.
From there it was a straight shot to David Icke, because of course it was. Icke, the former BBC sportscaster turned prophet of the interdimensional apocalypse, has built an entire worldview on the idea that the world is secretly run by shape-shifting reptilian overlords. Not just lizard-people for the memes, but entities from another dimension—Archons, he calls them—who feed on our fear, manipulate our governments, and masquerade as world leaders. The Queen, presidents, tech billionaires—they’re all supposedly part of the bloodline. It's like Gnosticism mixed with Marvel villains and a heavy dose of YouTube esoterica. And somehow, in Icke’s cosmology, these reptilians may be connected to ancient civilizations like Atlantis, or yes, Agartha. It's all part of the same fractal delusion: the world is a lie, and behind the veil, something cold and serpentine is pulling the strings.
Then comes Alex Collier, the other side of the cosmic coin. He’s not talking about fear-feeding reptilian warlords from the fourth dimension, but rather benevolent beings from the Andromeda galaxy who’ve contacted him since childhood. According to Collier, humanity is a hybrid experiment—our DNA tampered with by dark off-world entities long ago—and the Andromedans are basically here to warn us about our spiritual stagnation and impending enslavement. He talks about Draco Reptilians, underground bases, soul contracts, and interstellar politics like he’s just come back from a PTA meeting with the Galactic Federation. It’s absurd, and yet, strangely compelling, like an alien-themed soap opera that somehow also critiques neoliberalism and karmic debt.
And somewhere in the tangled mess of those ideas, I stumbled into the digital labyrinth of Truthiracy. If YouTube conspiracy theory had a Shakespeare, it might be Christopher Lord—part symbologist, part numerologist, part stand-up philosopher in a hoodie and sunglasses. His videos dive deep into the supposed occult etymology of words, where "America" becomes "Amaru-ca" (land of the plumed serpent), and Hollywood is a spellcasting staff of ancient druids. He maps out language like it’s a cypher built to enslave the unconscious mind. Half of it feels like gibberish, the other half feels like it’s whispering something uncomfortably close to the truth—but only if you're already halfway mad.
Some people think Truthiracy is satire, a kind of hyper-paranoid performance art that mocks the genre from within. Others think he’s dead serious, a lone decoder trying to expose the hidden language of the ruling elite. Either way, his content is bizarrely hypnotic. It’s the kind of thing you watch at 3am with a notebook full of scribbled symbols and the creeping suspicion that vowels were a CIA invention. His YouTube channels vanish and reappear like ghost ships—banned, reborn, rebranded. His blog still lives on in some dusty Blogger corner of the internet, along with arcane PDFs and links to PayPal for decoding kits and esoteric dictionaries. It's not quite a cult, but it definitely scratches the same itch.
At some point in this spiral, I also revisited Omaha Beach, because I apparently needed a reminder that history was not a video game. But even that turned surreal. There’s this meme comparison floating around—America charging up the beach yelling “you underestimate my power”, and Germany, from the fortified bunkers on the cliffs, calmly stating “I have the high ground.” It’s morbidly accurate. A real-life Anakin vs Obi-Wan scenario, except thousands died in the mud and surf while the sky rained lead and shrapnel. It’s not a meme, it’s history—but it’s also eerily mythic when viewed from this distance. Like the gods clashing on Earth, but with rifles instead of lightning bolts.
I’m not saying I believe all of it. Hell, I’m not sure anyone does. But there's something intoxicating about these intersections—where ancient myth bleeds into alien contact, where war stories echo archetypal narratives, and where conspiracy becomes its own kind of folklore. It’s like finding the edges of a shattered mirror and staring long enough to see something else blinking back at you.
Now I’ve got fifteen tabs open, three documentary playlists queued, and a creeping suspicion that the rabbit hole doesn’t end. It just changes names.
Sleep is for people not investigating inner Earth civilizations, amphibious space deities, and intergalactic lizard cabals.
Goodnight. Or whatever this is.

Papal conclave as drama
In the wake of the death of Pope Francis and a relatively brief, real-life conclave, it's time to review movies with a "Who will be the next pope?" theme.
The Shoes of the Fisherman (1968): Anthony Quinn's Ukrainian (!) pope eerily anticipates the real-life Pope John Paul II.
The Godfather, Part III (1990): Francis Ford Coppola tries to weave the fictional Corleone crime family into then-fashionable speculation about the "Vatican banking scandal" and the mysterious death of John Paul I, immediate predecessor to John Paul II.
Angels and Demons (2009): Over-the-top science fiction/ancient conspiracy thriller from Dan Brown. Unlike "The Da Vinci Code", the (eventual) Pope and his cardinals are the good guys. Tom Hanks, as the world's greatest and perhaps only "symbologist", is just the man to track down a serial killer and antimatter bomb in the Vatican City.
Conclave (2024): Forgettable and deplorable wokery-pokery.
I recommend the mighty Quinn in "The Shoes of the Fisherman".
