It had been a mean thing to do, really. He was known to do things like that sometimes, but he had really overstepped a healthy balance here.

Literally.

Walking over the frozen lake in front of Yuugi to get to his favorite place on the other side... by plainly walking as if the snow under them was cushioning the sharp glacial surface of the ice had been a miscalculation on the other part.

Not only did he hear the thump of Yuugi hitting the ice behind him, his cheshire grin vanished pretty fast, when he saw the other one not just rubbing his butt, but his head.

Head injuries weren't fun, all head injuries were, were actually extremely dangerous to humans.

So it was safe to describe as Mariku reaching alarm mode in about 5 milliseconds.

In the blink of an eye he was right before the other, asking in a honestly worried voice, if he was alright. When he got his answer through a pained mutter of "it's not that bad", he decided to take matters into his own hands.

Literally.

He simply slipped his arms around the other ones back and under his knees and lifted him up to his chest.

"That was unfortunate." He mumbled, looking very much ashamed.

"I'll get you somewhere, where you can rest that head... that looked like a mean fall." He carefully walked them the rest of the way not showing a single sign of fatigue and would put Yuugi down on the dry bench, going so far as to slip off his cape, so he could sit on something he was able to warm up with his mind.

"Do you feel dizzy?"
