Blitz is definitely a good father, I'm never gonna deny that, but what bothers me is whenever people use Blitz being a good father as a comparison why Stolas is "a bad father" I'm just like... whoa, it's almost like Blitz doesn't have an abusive "wife" and brother-in-law constantly sabotaging him.
(Obviously Stolas made his own mistakes, but the people making these arguments always count all the things caused by Stella and Andrealphus, so my point still stands.)
Also, hate to say it, but Stolas raising a child since birth when he was only an older teen himself (not to mention he didn't even willingly decide to have a child, but that never stopped him from stepping up to raise the child) vs Blitz adopting an older teen when he was roughly 30 himself are two completely uncomparable situations it terms of judging their "parent skills".

Brutal honesty vs Soft hypocrisy
Why they could never make me hate Stella:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why they could never make me like Stolass:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In fact, I never had a problem with the characters who are assholes while the narrative treats them like the ones, without attempts to justify or whitewash. Bad guys exist for a reason, they play an important part in the plot.
But I can't stand the characters who are assholes while they're totally woobified, portrayed as misunderstood heroes / perfect victims, and their misdeeds are constantly downplayed / ignored by narrative.
This is the situation I have with Stella and Stolass.
On the one hand, Stella is a rough ridiculous caricature of what an abuser supposed to be. From such she, essentially, got only the name and a few basic traits (breaking stuff, yelling, etc.) so you could project on her whatever you want. I'd assume she acts more like a bully than an abuser. But what exactly prevents her from being believable representation of such a serious, complex topic?
Honesty!
Stella never* pretends to be good, neither lies about her intentions nor tries to increase attachment in her victim. She proudly hangs all her red flags out and screams at the top of her lungs, 🚩 "Hey, I'm abuser!" 🚩 And... probably, people like this do exist (people are different). Although they're minority for one simple reason: honesty wouldn't let them fool anyone and escape punishment. (Add to this Stella's lack of magical skills, power, brains, and then you'll see her writing is complete nonsense.) Oh, and don't you dare spread the "It's Hell" excuse on me! I've made a whole list of reasons why this point doesn't have any sense.
On the other hand, Stolass is much more subtle. He speaks civilly, stays calm (most of the time), tries to make a good impression. Stolass tells you how flattered he is that you invited him to the party; he treats himself to a drink and sings on a stage with you. So you'd think everything's fine… But as soon as you turn away, the owl will hide in a corner and bitch with himself about how petty your social event is. And despite this we're supposed to SIDE with Stolass because allegedly he isn't as petty as anybody at the anti-Blitzø party since he came there purely out of ✨politeness✨! Yeah, it's sooo polite to show up and act like a hypocritical jerk! Apparently the dumbass never heard about the polite refusal option.
Conclusion: Choosing between obvious asshole and woobified asshole I'd prefer the first one. At least in that case nobody's trying to force me into sympathy for a hypocrite.
*The ONLY truly manipulative moment from Stella's side was the fake hug in "Mastermind", and even that was pulled out of nowhere and then thrown into nowhere immediately. I guess that was made so people would compare Stella with Mother Gothel while they have nothing in common (sadly).

i’m really fucking thrilled at how well blitzø’s character development was handled this season—and i’m hopeful it’ll be just as good in the next ones.
he started as someone that shied away from any form of emotional confrontation and affection, and he’s now a man that was so so tender when stolas needed him (and, as much as i love blitzø, s1 him would not have behaved the same way lol, even tho he would have been just as worried).
and the best thing about it, is that his mannerisms and reactions felt natural.
i watched blitzø care about stolas so openly during during the latest episode, and it wasn’t out of character, or sudden.
all i could think of afterwards was: “yeah, it makes sense that a blitzø that went through full moon, apology tour and ghostfuckers would react like this”.
because their deal blowing up made him realize he cared about stolas, and their break made him reflect on their history— and while he did that, he also had the support of his friends and family.
then ghostfuckers came out, and millie’s support was the nail in the coffin, because she saw him at his worst, she saw him deflect his hurt and subconsciously try to destroy what he had, and she still stayed.
and it made blitzø realize that maybe, if someone he cares about and admires is truly willing to stick beside him no matter what, then maybe he isn’t that shitty, and maybe he can get better.
the second half of season 2 focused on making blitzø grow by showing him an outsider’s perspective— when he was used in drowning in his own self-hatred— and it was done spectacularly. because an outsider’s pov doesn’t just mean those who hate him, it also means those that care about him.
it gave him a perspective about him that is much better than what he is used to see, and because it was millie who did it, someone who is always so confident in her love for those she cares about, it gave him the hope and conviction he needed.
and now, i think blitzø sees his old self—to some extentin stolas (someone who lost everything he cares as a consequence of his own actions), and i think he will want him to see the same perspective.
that giving yourself some grace and leniency to grow can do a whole lot.
i’m positive the writers of helluva boss will do as good of a job with stolas in s3 though, and i can’t wait to see it.

for all the traumatic memories we saw Blitzø relive: Fizz, Barbie, M&M, Loona, and Cash all appear twice. Verosika and solo Millie appear once. Tilla also once.
As for Stolas?
He appears EIGHT TIMES

It was an odd decision to make the episode less than one minute long, but at least it it was a good one!

Helluva ships - featuring Radioapple
Mammon does in fact tattle to Lucifer about Asmodeus and Fizz's relationship. Let's say the Helluva timeline lines up with Lucifer and Alastor getting closer sometime after season 1.
Lucifer doesn't know why Mammon bothered, even if Lucifer didn't have whatever was going on between him and Al -- he still wouldn't give a fuck. And he'd give even less of a fuck considering Mammon was still committing copyright infringement for his park, the audacity of that man was astronomical.
Still, Mammon calls a meeting to spill the tea because even he knows Lucifer is a hermit who does not keep up with the drama of Hell's so-called elite.
Asmosdeus finds out and therefore Blitzø finds out. So they all crash the meeting to give Mammon what-for. Fizz and Blitzø because they've never met Lucifer and think he's going to be pissed. Moxxie and Millie because Blitzø lied about where they were going and refused to let them leave. Stolas for moral support (and he's also never met the King, sue him, he's excited despite the circumstance) and Ozzie because he couldn't stop them so he might as well join them.
Following multiple very unnecessary pit-stops and shenanigans, they finally arrive at the palace---and it's too late.
Alastor has already kicked Mammon out and now he and Lucifer are doing paperwork, gossiping, and fighting over the (according to Alastor) tacky interior design of the palace.
The Helluva gang bust in (Blitzø is on a horse for some reason, he's very happy about this) and it's very anti-climatic.
Asmodeus: so you...don't care that I'm in love with an imp?
Lucifer, dad mode: You're in love? I'm so proud of you!
Blitzø: Just to be clear, I'm fucking this bird, there's nothing you can do about it
Lucifer: Okay??
Alastor: Darling, they think you care about hell's hierarchy
Lucifer: Oh! Yeah, uh-no. That'd be pretty hypocritical of me considering [gestures to Alastor]
The Helluva crew leave the palace once Lucifer and Alastor start bickering again looking like they've escaped a hurricane, wondering if they should be sending the King of Hell a 'Congratz on the Divorce' card.
Moxxie: ...does this mean we have two Kings now?

I'm calling out @zowylander every time they steal my gifs, because if they wanted to be left alone so badly they could just, oh Idk... stop stealing my stuff!?
I'm stressed enough as it it without assholes like this stealing my hard work (it generally takes me several hours to make one gifset, more or less depending on how complicated it is) and getting notes for it, I've even seen people who follow me like/reblog them...
It's just very discouraging to make more gifs when I know someone else is just gonna take them and run.

What if, stolas was banished to the human world and had to deal with the pain of being a mortal (living life and death as a human, returning to hell as a simple sinner, and probably being killed by an exorcist)
Based on Princess Tarakanova by Konstantin Flavitsky
I apologize for the helluva boss screamer lol

I don't wanna alarm anyone but...
Remember in Seeing Stars, towards the end where Loona's lighter wasn't working, but Octavia helped her out with her fire power?
FIRE power...?
As in... Opposite of ICE...
Now, as we know, Stolas is powerless. Blitzø will try to save him from peacock Elsa (Stella's brother). Blitzø is still powerless against him, mind you. In fact, all of IMP is.
Oh, but who not only still have her powers but also has the opposite power of him?
That's right! Octavia does!
Granted, idk how much of training she has with her powers, but based on what we know from Seeing Stars, she has control of it and knows how to use it.
This is obviously a theory until this month's episode is released. But I thought it'd be super cool to see Octavia getting some action screentime, especially seeing her protecting her dad. Because I believe, despite everything, she still loves her dad at the end of the day, even though everything is complex.
And maybe she'll learn the truth in this episode. If not, there's always future episodes. I mean, she gotta learn the truth about Stella and her dad at some point, right?
