You know what irks me the most about the mha ending. (Sorry I'm still on it.)

Like the early parts of the manga, there were so many grown up hero AUs in fandom (like storylines that took place when they're adults and heroes) and they're fun! A little silly!

And then we had the war arc and cities are being destroyed and everything's torn up and for over a hundred chapters, it's been oh huh I guess every AU like that will just be canon divergence lmao

And then Horikoshi basically wipes the slate clean so I guess all those AUs could technically canon compliant. There's not even much in the way of lasting physical damage! Because it's dealt with???? Immediately???? Within months?????

Which is fine! Nothing wrong with it! The AUs are fun! But, it just irks me that you could throw out half the manga because it didn't matter. Nothing majorly changed. Silly adult hero AUs for everyone I guess because the League may as well have been 2 bit villains for all the effect they had at large was. Idk. Maybe I'm bitter? Maybe my brain still trying to process the ending and the change in how AUs relate to canon? I guess - what was all the constant sprinkling in of "society has let people down" that we see from chapter 1? It meant nothing? I guess????? I mean A WAR HAPPENED. But whatever I guess heehee wasn't that soooooo silly???? That people's take on early story can be the same as post story?????

i really latched onto Lee when i first watched naruto back in 2007. he was this earnest goofy kid that people underestimated and took for granted. my love for him is like one part projection, one part love for what he stands for, and one part he's just an endearing character overall.

it's so funny cause i remember the very first ep of Naruto i ever happened across which was on cartoon network in like 2004 or 05 maybe. it was just on tv and it was literally like Lee's intro ep and i was like 'damn he weird lookin' and then like i ended up just fallin in love with this character and cosplayin him--a friend didnt think id be a good lee and wanted me to cosplay kiba instead which is laughable to me--and writing so much about him

like he's such a flawed and beautiful character, and i love that he's meant to represent human weakness but actually represents resilience. i think human beings are indelibly resilient. no matter what hardships we face, we still keep going.

which i guess is like something that ive related to a lot through my own life, and certainly now is also a great example and maybe this ask accidentally gave me a bit of peace because even though im fuckin scared im gonna relapse and lose my job etc it's like if it happens i still have to keep going

Lee is strong. he's weak. he's funny. he's goofy. he's sincere. he's kind. he's generous. he's hardworking. and i think he's got so much room to grow that it makes him a worthwhile character.

im sure i could write so much more bout him but i just really love him a lot

Pros and cons of dying my denim jacket black with paint and nail polish remover:

PROS:

Two sections of my jacket are now (somewhat patchily) dyed black without having to go to michaels and buy a (7$) container of dye :]

CONS:

My bathroom smells like nail polish remover

I broke a sponge brush

I just realized that the nail polish remover is flammable

I have significantly less paint then when I started

My bathroom does really smell like mail polish remover
