I know that the scene has a comical side to it too but, dear lord, Joey plays it all. He keeps the comical pace while he goes through a range of powerful emotions.

The humour is in what it says mostly and the delivery but he is so intense in his body language displaying fear and chock...

I mean that moment, when he tries to assess what is happening with the soldiers frozen in time and he talks to himself, has one long sequence without cut, and we can see the tears coming and leaving his eyes like the waves of panic inside of him. This is brilliant !

On a humorous side note : with that colouring, the blood and the mud, he looks like chicken tandoori 😅

Halfway through Lent now, and I’m absolutely stymied by how dramatic of a transformation this has been tbh, this one’s hitting different, folks

Since I’ve given up coffee, I’ve been getting my caffeine from unsweet tea. I’m drinking the stuff like water, but still won’t give me jitters like coffee would if I drank it today. Also means I’m taking in more fluids, I was probably constantly dehydrated lmao

Since I’ve given up sweets, I’ve had to, like, actually eat. Like, entire meals! Imagine, eating! I just had a giant salad for lunch, and it’s filled me up nicely. Better nutrition has ACTUALLY given me more energy, I didn’t think that would actually happen, but damn, I actually wanna, like, DO stuff!

Since I’ve given up Discord, I’ve gotten to unplug and not be on my phone nearly as often. Turning off notifications has been SO liberating, I may keep them off even after this ends. I was initially going to use all this extra time to tidy up my space (and I still might!), but it’s instead gone to joining a ministry at my church, caring for my new puppy, and MAKING. ART.

I WANT. TO MAKE ART. Starlo in January was just a warmup, and now that I’ve taken the time to cater to literally my most basic needs, I actually have the energy and desire to FOCUS ON MY ART, I have not had such an artistic drive since 2019. The art I’ve made for the past 10 years has been primarily just for me, but a lot of my projects right now have purpose, they are made with intent, it just makes me wanna get crafty again.

I have an age-old cross stitch pattern that I’m currently painstakingly transposing into my new pattern software so that I can actually READ it, and this pattern is HUGE. More to come once I finish and print it off so I can start stitching.

tl;dr: Three weeks into fasting and sacrifices and all that, and I haven’t felt this good about anything in a VERY long time. This really REALLY is the part where things get better.
