Had this funny idea where Merasmus cursed a random Scout to become a beast and thst turns onto your dragon/scout(?? Sona. Pretty sure that's not what happened

Anyways, likeee your character fits the tf2 universe in wone way? Or it's just wacky silly fun?

Close enough with the Merasmus idea!

The general idea of it is that my guy was at first just another guy that Merasmus dragged along during Halloween, using him as just a mini boss compared agaisnt HHH, Monoculus or Merasmus himself; in a way closer to the skeleton king in terms of health and functionality (bothering you lol)

But due to not being very useful compared to the others, and the fact that the guy (Draco) was getting tired from getting killed over again and again, he was kinda 'fired'

This part mostly depends on how im feeling on what type of tf2 thing im inserting him in but, generally speaking he gets picked up for study and capture by either the red or blu team.

Not sure what happens but, something bad enough to break the chains he has during an event, on where he risks his life (due to not being on respawn like the rest) to protect scout someone on the team

He loses one horn during this, but proves his loyalty to the team enough to give him free reign around the base

Draco isnt present during combat due to the fact that it would be unfair, so he mostly keeps to the base and surroundings

Also, i do have my other guy, Jesse (kinsona) than in his tf2 accurate appearance he pretty much looks like a cursed Scout! His sillyness

Thoughts on the new tf2 maps?

well, i can't give my thoughts on all 12 maps that were added, as my experience with them has been queuing through casual, and bots are absolutely ruining the fun of trying to play these maps, so i'll try and provide my thoughts with just the ones i've done.

Spineyard: i think ive only played a few rounds of it, but i like the maps looks and layout. the mafia skeletons are neat, although i couldn't figure out what the piles of money they dropped did. overall, pretty good payload map.

Lava Pit: it's gravel pit with a lot of lava pits, it's alright, i don't have much to say about it.

Mannsylvania: so, player destruction and king of the hill maps are kinda my least favourite gamemodes, but from what i played of the map. it's neat, i like how the map looks.

Slime: only actually got to play this map for one match with 5 players on both teams, since every other time was just flooded with bots. i like it, despite my disliking of king of the hill. the salmenn are fun skeleton replacements, i think i like them better than the other skeleton reskins. they've got fun designs too.

Perks: really liked the map, though i always do kinda wish valve would add more modular support for arena mode, so map makers don't have to resort to using other gamemodes like koth and player destruction just to simulate arena. i only played like three whole matches, with like 4 players on each team. wish i had played with more cause i did really like the concept.

Murky: im conflicted with the idea of a zombies mode in TF2, mostly just from a design standpoint. each class has their own zombie perks, some work fine, others feel lacking. with 9 classes, i think you eventually spread yourself thin with trying to come up with unique abilities that are useful for taking out the survivors. the map itself is fine. mostly had to deal with a lot of bot rounds before i could enjoy the map.

Atoll: the visual design of the map is really nice, though with how open the map is, it's tough to play as zombies, as humans have the high ground. playing as a sniper zombie, who can shoot acid, sucks a lot since you can't really get a read on how far your projectiles drop. engineer zombies have a similar problem, though with them, it's nearly impossible to see the travel arc of your pipebombs.

every other map, i've just not had enough time playing them. both due to bots and also because im doing my halloween contracts in the order it gives me.

A Blood moon started one of these nights, and our base started being overrun, so we had to fortify the gates for the night.

As you can tell, we died quite a few times.

Friend of mine is a skeleton mage because they got a skull, so we did a silly meme thing.

At about the end of this session, a Slime Rain happened. We almost killed King Slime before the event ceased, but we didn't get him, he was at 500ish health from ~5.3K. Still a fun time. I might make Eientei in the Jungle because why not?

What If This Character...? Episode 2: Dave Strider, Sans, Peacock, BLU Spy, King Dice, and Bubs

Now, we’ve already discussed Peacock on this blog, but as a dealer. I now realize this may have been a mistake; Peacock isn’t really patient enough for that sort of thing. So, without further ado...

What if

Dave Strider

Sans

and the BLU Spy

were all players at the Inventory,

King Dice

was a dealer, and

Bubs

was a bartender (and had dialogue)?

Playstyles:

Dave: Has little experience in Poker, but manages to play competently anyway (usually). Is the most honest player at the table, similar to Sam. Unlike Sam, however, he does sometimes tend to bluff, which he refers to as “trying to bullshit [his] way through the hand”.

Sans: Similar to Max’s random playstyle, only less due to an apparent lack of understanding the game and more because he simply doesn’t give a flip.

Peacock: Similar to Strong Bad’s reckless playstyle, albeit more due to impatience rather than a delusionally high ego.

Spy: The most competent and cautious player at the table. Being a master of deception, his tells are subtle and difficult to spot, making him good at bluffing.

Buy-Ins:

Dave: His 1/2-sword, usable by the Demoman

Sans: A replica of Papyrus’s cape/scarf, team-colored in TF2

Peacock: A replica of her top-hat

Spy: A fancy new revolver weapon (design of Valve’s choice)

Challenges:

Vs. King Dice: Once you have won all the other characters’ collateral, you will play a game of Texas Hold ‘Em against the dealer. The first time you win, he will reward you with a new weapon to use in TF2: A glove that acts like a pistol for the Scout and Engineer. The glove looks like Cuphead and Mugman’s gloves. You can select this challenge from the menu if you want to play against him again.

Beat the Bartender!: Face Bubs in any of the three card games. The first time you win, you’ll be rewarded with a little Sharktooth Bubs keychain that’ll dangle from your player character’s person in TF2. This mode will only be available from the menu if you beat Vs. King Dice the first time.

Poker Games:

Texas Hold ‘Em: The default Poker game for three Poker Night games now.

Black Jack: An interesting set-up that pits the players against the dealer. Try to get as close to a sum of 21 as you can with your cards. If you go over 21, you’re Busted.

Tripoli: This is actually three card games in one (hence its alternate name, Three In One). It starts with Hearts, shifts to Poker, and ends with Michigan Rummy.

Decor sets and effects:

Homestuck: The Inventory will resemble the meteor the Trolls played on, and that Dave and Rose ended up on for a few years. Dave’s outfit will change from his default white and red-sleeved shirt to his snazzy red Plush Tux. Those who are the first to be busted out are “escorted” away from the table by different characters from Homestuck. Dave, for example, might be chased away by hungry Nakadiles.

Undertale: The Inventory changes to resemble Grillby’s, and Bubs is even replaced by the soft-spoken Grillby himself. Sans’ jacket changes from blue to black, reflecting his monochromatic sprite in the battle screen. The first to be busted out in a tournament is sent away from the table by a different Undertale character. In Sans’ case, Papyrus drags him away to try a new spaghetti recipe he concocted, much to the shorter skeleton’s dismay.

Skullgirls: The Inventory will now resemble Lab 8, before its destruction. Peacock and her gang may get a little misty-eyed the first time they see it... Peacock’s outfit changes from her default dress to her “That’s All Folks” colors, her 8th palette, which is a reference to black-and-white cartoons. The first to be busted out is chased away from the table by one or two of Peacock’s goons. In Peacock’s case, however, she simply teleports away (via portable hole) and watches cartoons on a nearby tower of TVs.

Team Fortress: The interior of the Inventory now resembles a BLU base. The Spy’s costume change is simplest of all: he now wears a poker visor. That’s it. The first to be eliminated is chased away by another member of the BLU team, or in the Spy’s case, an intruding RED Pyro.

Cuphead: The Inventory is dressed up to look like the Devil’s Casino, undead patrons and all. Peacock’s appearance changes to more look like a Cuphead character (e.g. giving her the ol’ pie eyes). The first eliminated player will be chased away by one of the bosses from Cuphead, or in King Dice’s case, Cuphead and Mugman themselves. “Oh, applesauce, not again!”

Homestar Runner: The Inventory now looks like Club Technochocolate, and you can see various Homestar Runner characters partying in the background. Sans is now wearing a propeller cap similar to Homestar’s. The first to be busted out is forcibly escorted away from the table by Strong Mad, the club’s bouncer.

Sample dialogue:

Spy: So, let me see if I have this right: I’m playing Poker with an animate skeleton, a cyborg, and a time-traveler.

Sans: you’re on the right track so far.

Spy: Our dealer is a man with a die for a head.

King Dice: Who worked for the Devil before his casino went under.

Spy: And our host is a former pirate.

Winslow: Aye?

Spy: Do none of you find this odd?

(All the others respond in the negative.)

Spy: ...Hm.

Bubs: Hey! What am I, chopped liver?

Spy: To be honest, I have absolutely no idea what you are.

Peacock: (first time winning a pot) Come to Mama, chippies!

Andy Anvil: Hey, boss? Are you gonna bring one o’ those chips to life? We could use more members in our mob!

Peacock: Nah, I’ve got enough mouths to feed.

Andy: ...Wait, we have digestive tracts?

King Dice: (won a game of Black Jack) (chuckles) Gonna need to do better than that, folks. (singing) Hi-dee-hiii-dee-ho!

Even TF2, where the lore Valve has made is only loosely tied to the game, makes more sense than overwatch writing.

I mean the difference is that Team Fortress 2 relishes in the fact that it’s lore makes no goddamn sense.

Like how, for instance, canonically stairs were invented by Abraham Lincoln and before that everybody got to the second floor of buildings by rocket jumping.

And of course the Sniper is actually from Atlantis (also known as New Zealand) instead of Australia because he’s not hyper-muscular, moustached, versed in super advanced 1960’s technology and immune to fire, as all Australians are.

If this were TF2 Reaper would have gotten his powers from loosing a bet with his college roommate, a immortal medieval wizard who owns the entirety of Florida after winning it from beating the previous King of Florida in a hotdog eating contest.

Mercy wouldn’t be a doctor, rather having developed her healing technology after an experimentation involving the developmemt of more tasty fruit snacks that resulted in her own skeleton being removed and placed into the body of a gerbil. A year later it turns out the gerbil has been piloting Mercy’s body every since.

The story would revolve around a failed hero organization being reduced to taking on mercenary jobs in order to pay rent. Ana coming out of hiding? Needed to it the bills. Winston bringing back Overwatch? Sure he wants to relive the glory days of being a team of heroes, but his lease on Gibraltar is almost up.

Widowmaker is actually the spawn of the entire 1991 performance art company Blue Man Group, who travelled forward in time to assasinate the head of Overwatch, only to travel too far and find that Overwatch has already been disbanded.

Moira operating through piss healing is actually canon. Nobody wants her research for obvious reasons.

This month marks the 10 year anniversary of TF2, which is a very near and dear game to me, as it was my first real team battle arena/objective game. For those of you who don’t know what tf2 is, it’s Overwatch before Overwatch became Overwatch. With 9 guys. And a sorcerer. And magic. And Saxton Hale.

Well it’s been quite the year and well all lot of bad things happened (for me most were very personal) there were good things. And when I say good things I mean good people. Scratch that amazing people! These people helped me get through the year so that I would see this new one (even if the year is already starting bad for me). And even though I may not know a lot of them personally I still want to personally thank each and everyone of them. (Also I can draw better than this sorry)

@loverofpiggies - Thank you for your amazing comics and snazzy pink hair! I love Aftertale and Geno since I connected to him in a sad way that Geno actually felt to be a real “person”. You also taught me that even if you’re known for one thing it’s good to make your own thing. And that being Gloomverse. One of the greatest things I’ve ever read in the entirety of one night (I was that hooked). In fact it encouraged to to start my own comic and punch anxiety in the face!

I play a couple instruments and like to sing, but not a lot of people even know since I have a literal panic attack whenever I try Iin front of people. So turning a game I’m still obsessed with into a musical which I’m already obsessed with is amazing! Every singer/actor is superb and you feel what the character is feeling. I can’t help, but to always sing along. I’m stoked to have found you so that I may be able to listen to greatness. (Listening to you guys sing seem to always calm me down)

There’s no way I can thank all of you enough.2016 wasn’t the best year for me. Due to anxiety, depression, numbness, and a family member rushing in and out of the hospital. I doubt myself a lot saying I’m not pretty or my art is trash when i should have more of a positive outlook on myself, but it’s hard to when your parents tell you stuff like that every day. If it weren’t for every single one of these amazing people I don’t think I’d be alive today. I may not know all of them personally, but without them even knowing they helped me a lot. Even some of my friends that I mentioned are so close to my heart, but so far away for a hug. I love each and everyone of you and am looking forward to everything you do from here. Not just because you’re all amazing and talented, but because you give me something to live for. Thank you.
