I have this tfa au where i just yoink things from other tf continuities and make them fit tfa. It’s also the au where my OCs live. Since I’m currently obsessing over idw constructiprowl I decided to shove then in there too.

Ok so I really want to have a constructiprowl in tfa so the solution I’ve come up is there are two Prowls. One is the one that we know and the other one is pretty much g1 Prowl. Im gonna call the second one og!Prowl bc he is older that the one we have in the show.

So og!Prowl’s story is before the war he was an enforcer and during the war he was in high command( not the SIC though). However sometime during the war he was used as a scapegoat by the rest of high command and got kicked out of the army( dishonourably discharged). People he thought were his friends turned on him. He is definitely morally grey and has done some very questionable things during the war but so has the rest of high command. He didn’t deserve to be just thrown under the bus like that. He has lots of anger issues. He was very pissed over the whole thing. So high command want to get rid of him because he is too important and knows too much to just be let to his own devices so they decided to chuck him in Garrus-9. They thought that by throwing him into a prison filled with Decepticons that hate his guts they would be rid of their problem. And since he had multiple times before expressed his dislike and mistrust to cons ( even ex cons turned autobots) they were convinced that he would be all on his own. But high command had underestimated how resourceful and petty he could be. Prowl is livid and filled with so much spite it’s a wonder how he hasn’t turned into a singularity. There are no lines he isn’t willing to cross anymore. He doesn’t care. He is going to survive and he is going to make them regret that they tried to rid of him.

And you wouldn’t guess who’s also in Garrus-9. A certain recently crippled Decepticon gestalt(the g1 version). They had just lost their leader Scrapper. So with some (lots of) manipulation, some scheming and some very questionable scientific intervention Prowl gets a gestalt. (Like it takes almost a year for him to get close to the combiner team and convince them to collaborate. He tries to “befriend” them. It’s funny cuz it’s a bit of the opposite of what happens in idw. He is the one who needs them and goes around trying to gain their favour.)Does he like them? No. Does he like the idea of them being inside his head and spark? Absolutely no. Does he want to give one big middle finger to the Autobots and fuck them over by causing a prison break in one of their most secure prisons? HELL YES!

After combining the constructicons are kinda smitten with the way Prowls mind works and even though they realize he was manipulating them they are very impressed. This version of Prowl is out of shits to give and even though he is very emotionally stunted and doesn’t want emotional relationships with them he agrees to become the new leader of the team and join the Decepticons. Since he used to be part of Autobot high command the Decepticon counterpart doesn’t trust him much, even though he is very good tactician, so he stays at a relatively low rank in the con army.

It takes literally thousands of years for his relationship with the structies to develop from something more than work colleagues. It takes him soo long to admit even to himself that he has started to care about the gestalt because he is so afraid to let people in. He tried to keep the relationship strictly professional and since he is not a complete asshole to the gestalt they are fine if a bit exasperated with him.

“We are just colleagues! I am your boss! Nothing more!”

“Suuureee, boss.” The whole gestalt roll their eyes.

And before he knows it he has five boyfriends.

Star Wars films ranked in order of their technical innovations:

Star Wars (1977): innovations: motion controlled cameras, immersive sound design, high tech puppets, unified aesthetic that was unique from prev. sci fi films, welded fantasy and sci fi together, brought back vista vision/wide screen technology from the scrap heap and updated it, iconic costumes based on actual military equipment and historic royalty rather than imagining a "futuristic fashion," created Industrial Light and Magic effects company which funded R&D to create new cameras and equipment for the film, used percentages of the film's profit to pay actors and others involved in the project.

The Phantom Menace (1999): The first all digital studio film, computer graphics used for backgrounds/sets/whole environments, extended motion control cameras with digital environment, fucking amazing costumes borrowing from period films and classic Hollywood to bring the universe into a more sumptuous plentiful past, motion capture used to create integrated digital puppets.

Empire Strikes Back (1980): stop motion animation updated to include the motion controlled cameras for more realistic/seamless animation (compare to Harryhausen's Clash of the Titans which came out the next year to see what I mean), Lucas used the profits of Star Wars to expand ILM and give it a permanent home where effects artists weren't working in sweatshop conditions anymore, created a licensing company to try to stem the tide of unlicensed Star Wars products, a fire on the set of The Shining at Elstree studios lead to a dedicated Star Wars stage being built there which is still used to this day.

Return of the Jedi (1983): steadicam which was relatively new tech, customized by the inventor for the speeder bike chases, created THX to try to improve sound equipment in theaters because the sound mix for the film was too complex for the old sound systems used during test screenings.

The Force Awakens (2015):pulled back from the maximalist aesthetic of the prequels using more real sets, environments and models thereby creating a cohesive look that fused the two previous trilogies, made the film without having a clear outline about where the trilogy was going, giving freedom to future filmmakers to make changes to the story or to fill in holes, (not necessarily a good thing, but it was the first time it was done for a blockbuster trilogy), recreated most of the story beats of Star Wars (1977) in the updated sequel.

The Last Jedi (2017): Contains the most practical effects of any Star Wars film, with the most sets and creatures ever built for the franchise, literally set canon on fire, leaving writers and directors free to create Star Wars product that doesn't fit with previous canon/continuity.

Clone Wars (2008): First fully animated film in Star Wars universe, was the pilot for the TV show, integrated materials from the star wars Expanded Universe comics and novels.

Rogue One (2018): Used digital technology to allow Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher, who had died, to appear in the film by digitally combining their faces onto the bodies of other actors, first attempt to create a "gritty" Star Wars that reflected more of the reality of war, final scene with Darth Vader creeated 100% digitally.

Revenge of the Sith (2005): Lucas used a three camera set up and combined all three digitally, which allowed a much faster turn around time for completing shots, held the world record at the time of the most effects shots ever in a film.

Attack of the Clones (2002): continued with the innovations of Phantom Menace, creating the first entirely virtual film studio (for example some of Ewan McGregor's work was filmed on the Moulin Rouge sets with the actor in an entirely different location than the rest of the people in the scene, fewer models and real sets in general.

Solo A Star Wars Story (2018): used effects techniques such as rear projection and stop motion animation from the OT, but cleaned them up in the digital environment. For the first time used an effects company in addition to ILM.

Rise of the Skywalker (2019) Returned effects to the province of ILM, but the film was produced by Bad Robot, JJ Abrahams company (All the other films either produced by Lucasfilm or Disney).

Trust that you will not see me posting any other opinions but I had a thought and I need to express this. I don't use or accept the canon naming scheme that is presented in TFA (Cybertronians being named for a skill or ability). My justification for this is that the episode where this concept is introduced (Autoboot Camp, s02e09) is the same episode where Cliffjumper appears in the series for the first time, and I don't feel the need to expand further than that

Hello! My bf and i have exactly two gender headcanons for masterson. Transmasc mlm but refuses to acknowledge it (ignore hea been on hrt for years) or butch he/him lesbian. I have no reasoning for this but i feel it ib my heart of hearts.

Also the guy in the gif is a cringey emo loser named Jack Spicer who acts as the main villain of Xaolin Showdowns first season. Hes an egotistical inventor who makes murderous robots and he kinda sucks.

My biggest pet peeve in Transformers media and fanfiction sometimes is that Transformers aren't treated as aliens. They are referred to as aliens, they obviously are aliens, but they never feel like they are aliens because they are always written or seen as having all human mannerisms or features usually. Human posture, human noses, human mannerisms, humanoids...

What about TFA's cat noses or TFP's helm noses? One of the reasons I think those two shows have peak designs is because they have this lack of uncanniness to humans design wise. I'm not looking at a human being as a robot, I'm looking at an alien robot, ones that have claws, ones that have different body types that blend with their vehicle modes, ones with horrific mutilations and designs impossible by human standards. I love seeing that type of stuff in Transformers because to me, it makes them feel alien without completely changing the premises of similarities to where we can't compare their culture or likeness to humans. The films (mostly 1 and 2) showed off this as well.

Another thing I really would like to see in Transformers media is non-human interactive qualities. What do I mean by that? One thing I've noticed is aside from techno-organic species, regular Cybertronians do have a few qualities found in animals. Engine humming I believe was once used as a form of purring in the films and in some of the cartoons. Humans can't purr; cats can, and that small detail is always interesting to come across because it's like "wow, they have this feature that shows off a trait found in Cybertronians. That is so cool." You have them with multiple voice boxes for mechanical, natural, and human-like tones which is also an animal trait. Bumblebee is self-explanatory in most universes being able to still make sounds yet not talk. They have sensors across their body that don't act like the basic human receptors. Most animals can do more than just feel through certain points of their bodies. They can taste, smell, or even hear a hundred times better than a human being throughout various body parts, and Transformers have been hinted to have this ability too, especially through their servos. It's stuff like this that expands upon their existence as aliens.

They have extreme durability, their body morphs to extremes and can also double as a moving weapon (most obvious of course), some of them can make ungodly roars and creature-like noises to warn or show their threatening demeanor (Megatron's dinosaur-like growling), some can have two rows of teeth (a flat base in front and fangs hidden behind), and some of them have mimicking animal-like features (Starscream's bird-shaped feet with visible expansion the same as organic foot padding with similar distributive weight physics in a few universes) despite having no beast mode. There's probably more I can't think of on the top of my head in canon, but all those things are not heavily used as they should be to make them feel alien. They can still hold some relation to the humans they interact with, but I think a lot of Transformers are more than just metal "humans", you know?

Depending on the universe in fanfiction and who you encounter who writes it or not, you have several things that are always cool to see. They have to sparkbond (merging of hearts) above everything else to create a sparkling's life force with interface as just the extra for physical coding features. I've seen people use the non-canon heat cycles which are, of course, our fandom way of making a type of breeding euphemism akin to an animal's cycle. You have the common phrasing of nuzzling, heightened senses, armor and certain parts of the helm acting like fur or ears where it raises and flattens per their mood, and some Transformers have limb dissonance where if necessary, they can convert between bipedal and quadrupedal stances (best example is Bulkhead and Lugnut from TFA who have long arms but short legs and they have the bulky structure where they could possibly run like an animal briefly and the physics of it would work).

So, you have all these different things a common Cybertron most likely would be able to do or have but a human couldn't, and it's never utilized to their full potential. I would like to see people address the nature of Cybertronians as alien and not be afraid to make them alien. I think that's the biggest flaw in our franchise is that everyone is scared of making the Transformers not the humanoid "norm" and getting ridiculed for it. Like, they're aliens, you can make them act however animal-like or completely batshit insane as you want them. You can give them powers, animal-based senses, and behaviors hidden among a human thought process. And technically, you wouldn't be wrong to what they could be as a living creature in the universe by doing so. They aren't humans; they look humanoid, but they aren't us. Why should they have to be in every regard?

On the Great War

About the Decepticons and Autobots in my AU. They are both morally grey. Both sides did awful things during the war. The start of the war was a rebellion on the Deception side. The planet was already somewhat divided considering their history and the Destrons and the Protectobots. 

750 million stellar cycles ago:

“A faction of Protectobots called Autobots comes to prominence on an agenda of expanding Cybertronian influence to neighboring planets.The Age of Expansion begins.” 

…

300 million stellar cycles ago: 

“The Age of Expansion ends after several border skirmishes with the Quintesson Pan-Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere. The Destrons feel that they shouldered a disproportionate share of the burden of defending the Autobot Commonwealth while not reaping equal benefits.”

While peaceful the divide started growing further manipulated by the senate for the sake of power. War and flight frames started being treated worse and discriminated agains, to be used by the government , while civilian frames started being fed propaganda about how the others were dangerous and volatile, so that they wouldn’t want to stand up for war frames and sympathize with them. The rift between the two continued growing for years, as new factions- the Autobots and the Decepticons arose. The tipping point of the conflict was the passing of the Decepticon Registration Act. That’s when the riots begin.  The Decepticons are originally led by Megazarack with Megatron as one of his generals. The response to the rebellion by the government is as harsh if not more. This culminates with the assassination of the senate. From then on it’s full on civil war that spams over the next 10 million years. The first 2/3 mil years it is fought mostly on Cybertron and the moons. Around this time is also when Megatron becomes leader of the ‘cons. Afterwards the war starts expanding throughout Cybertronian Commonwealth and beyond. This is when Stormrunner, Thunderhead, Jumpstart and the triplets finally flee(my OCs). While Autobot propaganda might have you believe that the Decepticons lost the war, the truth is that even though the Autobots had access to technology that the Cons did not such as the trans warp and Project Omega, both factions were pretty equal in regards to firepower. In fact the Autobots were desperate enough to decide to throw the AllSpark to Primus-knows-where through a space bridge. With the relics whereabouts a mystery Megatron realises that if the war continues they might end up destroying Cybertron with no way to restore it. The Battle of Iacon is a last ditch effort from Megatron to take Cybertron but with the weakened state of the deception fleet it is unsuccessful. They can continue fighting but it would be devastating. For the sake of their home planet the Tyrest Records are signed and the Decepticons accept exile in exchange for amnesty. However due to the prewar propaganda what Autobots consider “deceptions” is actually all war and flight frames who are not explicitly Autobots. This includes all Neutrals such as Stormrunner and co. 

The sad truth is that the Cybertronian people fell victims to a greedy corrupt government that saw to manipulate them, divide them and ultimately turn them against each other. The war just helped to further cement this divide. And while the majority of said corrupt government ended up dying in the war, there are a few who survived and managed to weasel their way into Autobot high command.

Something that’s very ironic is the two factions stance on alien species. Before and during the beginning of the war Decepticon opinions on non- Cybertronians and especially organics, was at best indifference and disregard and at worst outright hatred, while Autobot philosophy was to defend them. That was another tool that was  used to manipulate the masses- the deceptions were told that the lack of recourses was because of aliens not allowing them to expand the commonwealth, while civilians were told that the violent and bloodthirsty war frames wanted to wage war on innocent aliens just to satisfy their bloodlust. 

After the war however, in their exile the Decepticons found themselves strongly relaying on other species to rebuild and ended up forming alliances and positive relationships with them. The Autobots on the other hand took an isolationist approach and as time passed they became more xenophobic towards non Cybertronians.

Purpose: To sabotage any and all Decipticon efforts of gaining any headway in this war. First, start off with the infiltrators, next, hit them where it hurts.

After discovering a spy had infiltrated their ranks, Alpha Trion took it upon himself to assemble a team to sabotage any Decipticon efforts to gain a foothold on Cybertron, hoping that they would be able to counter any threats on Cybertron.

Tidbit: One of the few of the Elite Guard to not have gone to the Academy, Elita rose through the ranks through her skill and ingenuity, despite other’s misgivings. A bit rough around the edges, she is always there for her fellow bots. When her former mentor requested her aid in his mission, she had no hesitation joining. (It helped that it got her away from her more tiresome coworkers)

Former Intelligence Officer; she retired when she was not allowed to investigate Highbrows abrupt disappearance and opened a private investigator business.

Alt Mode: Cybertronian Trike -> Trike (like Harley-Davidson Tri Glide Ultra)

Special Upgrade: Lockpick: with enough time she can pick any lock and hack into any systems with the extensions in her servos. However, this can takes a lot of her processing power and leaves her vulnerable.

Laser Sabre: Good for clashing blades and slipping between the seams of an enemy’s armor

Tidbit: Despite her worrying over her teammates, Chromia has a habit of diving helm first into her work with little disregard for herself, whether that be forgetting to refuel and recharge or tempting fate with more self-sacrificial tendencies. She’s been working on it, but bad habits die hard…

Novastar

AltMode: Cybertronian Truck -> Narrowbed Truck

Special Upgrade: Furnace: Nova is able to generate massive bursts of flame, and she has refined the practice into an art. The flames on her head are no only an aesthetic choice, but an outlet for the excess heat she generates. These are easily extinguished; a fact Inferno took great joy in abusing the damn firetruck bot.

Blowtorch: During her time in field during the Great War, Nova lost her left servo to a Decpticon when retrieving soldiers from behind enemy lines. She had it replaced with a blowtorch prothesis that allows her to pinpoint flames to temperatures that can cut through even the toughest of materials- temperatures that otherwise would melt her frames

Tidbit: Novastar has been trying to locate Inferno, who has recently gone MIA after responding to an off-planet distress beacon with a new recruit with little to no luck. She is hoping the new job title will grant her greater resources to expand her search.

Greenlight’s inventions can be brilliantly or devastating (or if she’s lucky) both. She tends to get attached to her devices, however, and gets rather despondent when they are broken or do not work as intended.

Aloof, she doesn’t see the need to waste much time with small talk. It requires a bot with a lot of patience (and ability to pester) to get her to come out of her shell

Alt Mode: Cybertronian Offroader

Special Upgrade: Tasers: Though not a combat bot, Greenlight saw fit to mod herself out with some decent defense. The tasers stored in her arms can generate enough volts of electricity that can through bots thrice her size flat on their backs.

Boom Cannon: A weapon still in its testing phases, she has been building it up from stolen Decepticon specs in her free time.

Tidbit: If asked, Greenlight will say that she agreed to sign up to get out of community service for accidentally demoing a perfectly good lab with one of her inventions. While partly true, a larger part of why she joined was because she didn’t want Lancer doing this alone.

Special Upgrade: FlipScreen: her “skirt” doubles as computers, monitor and keyboard included. This grants her access to ALL of her files and more importantly allows her to run any necessary scans, analysis, or algorithms she needs when or wherever she needs. It is also a bold fashion statement

BackPack Variety Hour: She has a variety of “backpacks” each serving different purposes, though if you ask anyone but Lancer they all look identical. Despite their incredible weight, she carries them with ease.

Backup Generator: Via the generator on her back, she could keep a city fully powered without straining her spark. Most of this energy goes into the powering the extra processors she has stored in her “skirt”

Star Splitter: a powerful laser spear, though she more often then not uses it for pole vaulting than actual combat

Tidbit: Lancer has been a researcher for the Autobots for longer than many bots have been alive, mostly regarding projects Ultra Magnus would rather not go public. Despite the JetTwins being by far the most successful of these endeavors, Lancer quit shortly after. When Alpha Trion offered her a more savory research position with Twam Orthia she was quick to accept and get out from Ultra Magnus’ thumb.

“Best in the Whole Galaxy!”

Graduated top of her classes at the Autobot Academy but has struggled to keep a longterm position due to her impulsive behavior, with her last job being messenger-bot for Security.

Alt Mode: Cybertron Compact Car -> Vector W8

Special Upgrade: Internal Gravity Manipulator: As labelled on the tin, she has the ability to shift her gravity, decreasing AND increasing. Typically, she uses this to “float” or “moon walk”. The change in gravity can be extended to objects she comes into direct contact, but maintaining it drains her very quickly.

Velicotron Build: Speedster Though not as fast as the infamous Blurr, Moonracer is incredibly quick both as a bot and her alt form. Combine this with her gravity-defying abilities leads to some devastating results.

Custom Ion Pistols: Dual pistols that can combine into her sniper rifle.

Tidbit: Moonracer is a good bot with a good head on her shoulders. She will always do what she thinks is right- but she tends to jump the gun on things which gets her into trouble. With inexperience comes naivety, but how is she supposed to learn anything if nobody gives her a chance to do anything?

Maybe there was a glitch that set Op up with Megatron instead of other Autobot that were presented on the website

And Meg was borded stay for a chat ect which help him relax after a stressful day of running the Decepticon ( After he did a full background check of course)

They both use secret identity but only Megatron now who Optimus actually is

Also Meg send a lot of works that was suposedly illegal on Cybertron starting with ideoligy of Neutral then slowly move torward thing more decepticon

While Op has his suspicion, he an’t gonna rat out the only bot who would listen to his rants

They also play some only game mostly one that invole stratagies

I think maybe Elita and Sentinal would be disapointed that Op spent more time reading after getting his servo on so many data pads ( which they had suspected to contane banded materials )

After Archa 7 maybe Op slip up and told Mega about the incident leading to Megatron comming to the planet and rescue Elita instead of reciveing the signal like in the show

Most of the decepticon already now about there lord hobbies but accepting an Autobot even an Ex Autobot is a bit to much for just some “online friend”

And Elita is really confuse and torn about the whole thing because while she hate Optimus but without him she would have stuck on that planet

First time creating an art post on Tumblr. I was trying to reinterpret Sari’s design in TFA into TFP for my AU and I had so much fun analyzing the art of Prime, Jose Lopez’s concept art of the humans, certain design choices and shape language that went into Sari’s original design in TFA and the design choices in Prime. And just I am so happy with how cute it turned ouuuuut. Will probibly expand and explore on the designs later with a season 3 look and post timeskip look. The Autobots have that whole project omega thing, where they made ships whose sole purpose was to be war machines who needed handlers to keep them from squishing the Autobots.

Perceptor in this universe actually deleted all his emotions to make more room for SCIENCE, and this is even reflected in his brief appearances in the show where he’s voiced with a text-to-speech program. It’s unclear how much of him is even left in there, as he seems only dedicated to science but it still seen as the head of the Autobot science division

Autobots in general are also pretty disgusted by organics, which is usually played for laughs (giant robots afraid of small humans), but they seem to not be able to distinguish between sapient and non-sapient organic species and deem them all disgusting. However, this isn’t universal since our main Autobot team doesnt show this revulsion at all even at the start.

The Autobot Commonwealth is basically an alliance between dozens of planets who are protected by the Autobot fleet. It’s dedicated to protecting the people, who can travel between planets freely, but do seemingly live under Autobot authority. There’s even a long list of planets in the commonwealth from the Almanac, is crazy how many names they just came up with that are barely ever mentioned.

The Autobots also have a very function based society, where people are seemingly free to choose their jobs but it seems they believe they are limited by what they can do from their programming.

One interesting fact is that Autobot frame types are reused a lot to explain why some bots look the same or similar (which is mentioned briefly in the show) - Bumblebee is a very common type, the 65356-9292-346 which is stated to be very fuel efficient. There is quite a bit of variation within these types though.

They also have the Autotroopers, who act as police in Cybertron. They are all identical in body shape and voice, which has an actual explanation! On the back of their toy box (Autotrooper 2011 toy) it’s stated that Autobots go through a remoulding process into their uniform shell, which was made specifically for this role, and that in times of war they can be brought under the direct command of the current Magnus. So… yeah, Autobots have an explicitly militaristic police force.

This reformatting is also something stated again in the Allspark Almanac, as the TFA version of Drift (he’s from the comics) used to be a decepticon and specifically got a new body when he became an Autobot. (Speculation ahead) So this disparity between Decepticons and Autobots isn’t just coincidental, it’s actively enforced.

On the other side of the conflict, there’s the Decepticon Empire:

During the Great War, Decepticons conquered numerous Autobot colonies but lost them all by the end of the war and were driven out into the rim of the galaxy. However, they rebuilt as a smaller empire (much smaller than the Autobot Commonwealth) and have a new capital planet of New Kaon.

Sentinel Minor in the Allspark Almanac (before he became a Prime) says that the Decepticons have five times less the industrial capacity of the Autobots, which is believable considering they have much less planets and are seemingly struggling to survive (New Kaon is said to be a very unimpressive capital, and their main goal is to conquer the home planet of Cybertron).

There are also Decepticons scattered across the galaxy after the war, in hiding.

I won’t recount the full backstory of Cybertron, but it’s all on the TFWiki in the Animated continuity section on the Decepticon page or in the Allspark Almanac II, but basically Decepticons are imperialists who want to expand and conquer the galaxy. When Megatron took control of the Decepticons, the tensions between the Decepticons and Autobots reached a boiling point and the Great War started.

They created a few biological weapons like cosmic rust, so they’re definitely not against war crimes.

My memory might be flagging here, but we actually don’t know much about the Decepticon society or if there are even any Decepticons who aren’t warriors. Since Autobots are obviously not trustworthy, it’s left up to interpretation. Theyre definitely some sort of dictatorship though, and see native species like humans as collateral damage at best.

They might be more tolerant of organics, since the character Blackarachnia is one of the generals, but we aren’t given any ideas since none of their colony planets have any info in general.

Blackarachnia, who’s introduced in the show, was the one who surgically made Blitzwing a triple changer. Blitzwing used to be a seeker, but the surgery made him extremely unstable and “fractured his mind”. This isn’t really expanded on though (Blackarachnia did have an episode idea in season 4, though we don’t know if it would’ve expanded on this)

Not everything might not be important, but I find it all interesting in fleshing out the world of Animated! (Also I’m totally gonna send an ask about the start of the war in animated, but you can find it also on the TFwiki). I also tried to avoid spoilers for the show lol.

I think motorcycle Transformers are cool and I want more of them, but I also don’t like when they make female Transformers motorcycles as like, an excuse as to why they’re smaller and slimmer than the male characters. Not that a female bot can’t be a motorcycle, it’s just that it feels like that scenario happens too often with motorcycle bots

I think the solution is that we need more male motorcycle Transformers. The only ones I know of are TFA Prowl and Thrash, let’s expand that list a bit more

Hi I just want to say that you’re right about Prowl not being a prick in every universe because while IDW shows a very unique interpretation of Prowl, he doesn’t speak for every Prowl made. G1 is an absolute sweetheart who while not usually in the spotlight is still willing to help out, Marvel while not being the most social steps up and is willing to do what he can, RID2001 is a bot who despite nagging on Sideburn loves both his brothers dearly and just likes following the rules and stuff, TFA gave us someone whose past made him distance himself from others but later learned how to work together and trust, Covenant of Primus showed how Prowl is willing to throw everything away to save those he held dear, Cyberverse while I don’t know much, shows him actually being quite nice and in Earthspark while Prowl there is on guard and very cautious, he’s ultimately right with what he said and his concerns are justified.

I love Prowl and what fascinates me about him (and something I wish could be expanded upon) is how each interpretation handles what I think are his main characteristics; loyalty, rationality and care.

Oh yes! I would definitely put those as his main character traits!

CV Prowl... I actually can't say much about despite having watched the whole thing. His personality was kind of a nothing-burger whose only "major" moment (besides dying) was talking weapons with Shadow Striker. Honestly, he's mostly just there. (I didn't especially enjoy Cyberverse, tbh.)

Transformers is a franchise running 40 years. IDW1 only ran for 13 of them and wasn't even the only continuity going at the time. IDW1 Prowl was complex and interesting... When written by someone who cared to portray that. However, I am so tired of folks trying to insert the flanderized "lol Prowl is an angry prick who flips tables all the time" onto every part of the franchise when it wasn't even all that true to the actual comics!
