A personal reflection on this past year:

Hello. Today is January 2nd. As usual, I'm fashionably late; this sort of thing should be done before the new year, right? Hah. Anyway. This is a personal reflection from me - the person behind this blog and the fics.

In January 2022 I started writing. I jotted down one paragraph in a Google Doc about how Aedric's lips would feel as G'raha kissed him. And then I kept writing. And writing. And then somehow I wrote over 90,000 words in less than a year. I really did not expect to have as many words in me as I did, much less write them down.

It's a year later, and I'm still writing these two characters and I'm more in love than ever. I'm working on an original novel on the side, as well, utilizing the skills in prose and characterization I've honed by writing Promises Kept. I'd only ever intended to write Here At Memory's End and By The Book, yeet them to AO3, then disappear into the dark annals of the Internet, never to be heard from again.

Somehow, I had too many words in me, and kept going! And now you all have to deal with it!

Seriously though. I am beyond grateful to the overwhelming response to my writing. I tell myself, "Eh, it's just a love story. It's just porn. It's nothing literary or brilliant." Yet, somehow, you all make me feel incredibly loved. Like my writing makes you happy and holds meaning in your lives. Every single comment - every single like and reblog and note in the tags - makes me feel glad to have put my stuff out there. I've never been cool a day in my life, and now - turning 30 in exactly three weeks - I am somehow cool enough to have people voluntarily read my stories! Haha. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading my fics and enjoying my content.

I've made friends in this fandom I never even knew I was missing in my life until they were in it. You know who you are. I love you. Thank you for being in my life and letting me sending 4am Discord messages about headcanons about a fictional catboy.

I guess the only thing left to say is to hopefully you look forward to everything I currently have baking in the fic oven! Always feel free to send me asks or leave comments. Here's to another year of catboy-lovin'!
