I know it sounds basic lol, but my family and friends!

Good food! I cannot stop myself from doing a little happy dance (a tiny wiggle really lol) when I’m eating really good food. I don’t know if my sisters and roommate got it from me or I got it from them, but we all do it lol. And my sister’s best friend told her her toddler did it the other day, and we were like, welp, guess we’re children 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️

This might be really niche, but I just had a conversation about this the other day, and it really does make me happy: when people in your life have become such a part of your life that they end up making references you make to real-life things they weren’t even there for. Like not like someone who doesn’t know you well just trying to get in on the joke, but someone who does know you well unintentionally adopts it as part of their everyday language because it’s part of yours 😂🥹

Dogs! Dogs make me so happy. And I still haven’t ever had one. It’s my life goal at this point, but I’m still nowhere close, because I keep living with people who are allergic 😔

I know it sounds silly, but Tumblr! It’s the only social media I actually fully enjoy, probably because it’s barely even really social media in the typical sense. And getting to come on here and be an active part of fandoms is so much fun! There’s a big overlap of the TV shows, books, and movies I love with the people I see and hang out with in my everyday life, but there’s also a lot of media I consume that they don’t, so it’s so nice to be able to come on here and interact with people about it! (e.g., the post I just made before this about tonight’s 911! Lol)

Favorite theme...It might be questioning what one believes, often for the better though the process is probably going to suck.

The protagonist of Apophenia/Phagophobia, Isaac, is confronted with the reality of an organization that literally saved his life and gave it purpose in the face of tragedy might not be all it's cracked up to be. The antagonist-turned-deuteragonist, Renato, is constantly faced with the choice of falling back on destructive patterns vs. letting them go and striving to believe there's another way.

Often, characters who seem evil and dangerous...well, okay, maybe they are evil and dangerous, but for particular reasons, or in certain contexts that make the rest of the characters question their own morality.

Sometimes, writing is my way of processing ideas I've encountered and working out how I feel about them--questioning my own beliefs/assumptions. I put a blorbo in a situation, then scribble down the results from my hiding place in the bushes.

🖊️ Techno, Chiptune, the other Dubbz guy (sorry), and Lyric

Send me a “🖊+an OC“ and I will talk about that OC! It can be a headcanon, a fun fact, a small paragraph of backstory- anything!

☆ - Techno’s design is partially inspired by Beat from Jet Set Radio, and his headphones in the very first sketch of him (when I was still figuring out a solid design for him) had bunny-like ears. Of course that got scrapped, but I used the bunny-like earphones for his mother instead.

☆ - Chiptune’s late wife used to sing/hum a pleasant little tune to help calm down Techno when upset as a child. Now Chip does the same with both Techno when he was younger and Glitch.

☆ - Glitch figured out he was transmasc non-binary thanks to hanging out and sharing experiences with his now best friend, Pranx, who is also transmasc non-binary.

☆ - Lyric used to wear matching outfits with Beatz when they were younger and occasionally still does when they do hang out. Which sometimes makes telling them apart a bit more difficult.

Hi. I’ve been thinking about the losing your girlhood thing you asked about too. I feel like shes talking about her carefree girlhood where she feels trusting and safe instead of manipulated and criticized, not her virginity when it comes to JM. On ATW she says innocence and I think that’s the virginity thing. Which feels weird to talk about but she kind of brought it up? Anyway that’s my thought on it. But idk.

Interesting perspective, thanks for weighing in! I like the idea of separating out different parts of "girlhood" as a concept and feeling like you're "losing" it or giving it away in chunks maybe instead of all at once. And yeah it's hard to talk about this theme without talking about the sexual parts of it, but I'm not really comfortable speculating on that any further. I'm really only interested in this insofar as it tells us which songs are part of the same story. I'll just say I think there's a lot of sexual shame stuff going on in the second verse of Would've, Could've, Should've, and I think the "innocence" in ATW is about a lot more than just virginity, although that does seem to be a part of it.

For me right now, the first verse reads very JM, the second JG, and the rest of it a combination of the two. But idk that's just my two cents, I love that all these songs are so rich and rewarding to really analyze!

Started: Late Jan 2022 / Finished: Dec 30 2022

Approx work hours- 273 hours (worked on average every 3rd day out of 274 days; averaged 3h/session)

Times I remade something because I messed it up/wasn't happy with it: Hands- 2; Feet- 2; Head- 2.5; Body- 1; Clothes: 3

Pattern: trial, error & determination

Height: 3ft tall

Materials:

stretch jersey knit (body)

polyfill (stuffing)

brushed out acrylic yarn (hair)

star sapphire x2 (eyes)

pipe cleaner (hand armature)

wooden dowels/18 gauge wire (elbow/arm skeleton that keeps snapping I may add)

acrylic paint/pastels (shading & details)

acrylic thread (body sculpting & upper eyelashes)

stretch velvet/velvet burnout, cotton (clothes)

Fun facts:

his look was inspired by his overall appearance in the comics; I particularily like the depictions done by Jill Thompson, Mike Dringenberg & Marc Hempel!

his arms and legs are jointed in the same way as many teddy bears are: you use a washer, nut & bolt to butt-up the limb against the body internally and it gives the limbs full rotation. First time I have tried the method and it's definitely something I'll try again!

I had no idea how I was going to do the inset eyes, but I was determined to have them as some sort of stone. I had to redo his first head completely because I cut too far in! Eventually I got it to work by creating a "backcushion" with clay for the stones, and then closed and sculpted the eyelids overtop to secure them in.

You can't see in most of my photos but his eyes are star sapphire: when light hits them correctly, it causes a ✨to appear just like his eyes in the comics~!

making his hand & feet were a challenge, especially thinking about where to put the needle through to sculpt tendons, nails, etc (and also deciding how detailed to get without looking strange). I think I learned a lot tho and I'm very proud of the hands

my favorite sculpted parts are the collar bone/chest, the right hand & the nose~

because the skin is white, he gets very dirty with his black clothes, so I had to line all of them in white. He also has to soak in bleach once in a while to maintain his complexion (LOL)

are the tinies more comfy w being affectionate w each other (than their normal sized selves) or do they just simply not notice when they're cuddling?

a bit of both? the first time on the couch just kind of happened because they were tiny and tired I still need to finish the continuation/conclusion of that but there is like. negative chances of them not being aware they're cuddling in the same bed when one of them is not even where he's supposed to be.

I've already said I don't really care whether skk get romantic or not, but here we are all about the longing for each other's presence. The tinies feel the same things but more, so like everything else the denial is harder to deal with. Because of that, they skipped a few steps and now they do all of their usual stuff but also they cuddle.

Meanwhile the big guys are stuck in their 14+ layers of denial and pride, so the tinies doing their thing in front of them is both chipping at those layers and so embarrassing, I don't think they see how the other one is acting as much as their own little guy is betraying them will you stop that what will they think???
