ok so I havent made a post of my own in a fuckin while but I needed to say this.

Angel Dust is a feminine man, okay, right, got that. Husk prefers to present more masculinely. Ofc, go off kings, great. Before I say any more, and I've only said 2 things, I want people to understand I AM ALL FOR GENDER FUCKERY, ESPECIALLY IN FANDOM! Make that man wear a dress! Give him some makeup, I don't care if it's out of character! Genderbends are really fucking cool! However, when it comes to huskerdust, some things are looked past. Some of the things they've done with Angel in fanfiction and fanart wouldn't be okay if he was a woman, they'd be considered misogynistic.

I used a bunch of tags in this post talking about this before (please read that post itself too!!)

Angel Dust is not a woman. We all know this by now, unless you've been living under a rock since the pilot came out. And, if you've been following hazbin hotel, I'd like to assume you're all for rights no matter what gender you identify with and, most likely, are a feminist.

So why and how is this being done to Angel Dust, a(n, as of current knowledge,) CIS MAN?

In so many fics and fanart, Husk is painted as the savior. Angel is a damsel in distress, even though we've clearly seen that he knows how to defend himself. Angel was in the mafia. We heard him in episode four, "I can handle myself, baby." He clearly doesn't need Husk to protect him, and never has. And Husk, as far as we know, has never really taken on that savior role, or ever really needed to. It isn't pressured onto his character. This isn't to be confused with his protective nature, which derives from his parental tendencies.

Sometimes, even, I've heard people use terms like "Mrs" or "Mommy" (not in a kinky way stfu it was regarding fat nuggets and his parents) to refer to Angel Dust, when we know he's not a woman. Again, I'm all for headcanons, but this is in situations where such headcanons aren't applied.

Still don't get it?

It reminds me a lot of the lesbians thing where people ask, "Who wears the pants in this relationship?" or "But who's the man/woman?" If you're watching Hazbin Hotel, I'm also guessing you are either (A,) really fucking queer, (especially if you're making huskerdust fanwork lol) or (B,) a big fucking ally. You should know that THAT IS NOT HOW IT WORKS, THAT IS NOT RIGHT!!! There is no "man" or "woman" of the relationship when it comes to queer love! The fandom has pushed heteronormative and sexist roles on a gay relationship. Whether that was the intention or not, it's what's become of it. I hate it. I hate seeing people make Angel some sort of housewife, unable to protect himself and in need of a savior, just because he presents femininely. No matter what gender he considers himself, Angel can present as feminine. It doesn't make him any less of the man that he is/considers himself.

In the end, it's some strange form of misogyny. The only reason people aren't calling it out is because Angel is just a femboy, he's not a woman.

Does that make sense?

I'm truly sorry because it took me roughly 3 days (I guess??? idk anymore TT) to even think of badly summaries (that will actually not spoil the whole premise of each of my WIPs) 🥲🥲… I don't know if this is bad enough but please understand I'm not really good at summarizing it bad (even summarizing it good is no-no to me)

Okay I actually put genderbend on the last two because those two are actually my two genderbend naruhina I was supposed to post this month but since they weren't actually still flesh out just yet, it might take some time for them to be posted (probably within this year, lol I do hope so).

The last one is actually a WIP of mine that I wrote last year. I actually love the premise I've built with it in my head (lol) but only ¼ of what should be written is written so I doubt if I would actually post this or not lol! To be honest, when I saw this tag game the first thing that came to my mind was hold up, do I even have WIP?!! But then I remembered about my two genderbend nh! They saved me hehe… honestly I just jump back and forth to some unfinished ideas of mine and then somehow will continue it if some inspiration struck me (I'm truly just a beginner in this so I'm super sorry) or maybe not and they'll never see the light outside my notes.

My heathers au is based on the musical - Heathers, where the mtt play the heathers, and Cross is Veronica; Dust plays Heather Chandler's role here.

basically, theyre just the mucical cast but they the utmv guys

Heather Chandler actually dies about halfway through the musical, murdered accidentally by Veronica and JD - or Cross and Nightmare here - so if you wanted Dust to be a ghost or alive, totally up to you!

Chandler's bossy, the leader of the Heathers, manipulative and unappolagetic - mean for the sake of being mean, really

His scarf takes the place of heathers scrunchie here, and when he died, Killer (H.Duke) takes it and wears it in to ‘take control’ if you will. Dust does Not Like That (™) 

This makes Horror (H.Mcnamara) really sad

Im gonna go through and tag all my heathers au now with 'Rues Heathers AU' so you should be able to find stuff ive done in the past from them, and stuff i will continue to make ;)

Pestilence is a bit more complicated; from my Four Horsemen Au - where Nightmare, Dust, Killer and Horror take the roles of the four horsemen, who are said to appear at the end of the humanity, and bring about the apocalypse and all that, from christian texts

Pestilance actually has a redesign since i made him, because hes one of my older things, so:

The first horseman, with a bow and crown, rides a white horse - Dust - Pestilence/Conquest

His crown is made of thorns and branches, jesus style, with melting candles dripping wax slowly; its said when the candles fully melt and the flames burn out, humanity is no more.

The actual 'crown' part of his crown are pitch black metal, and are shaped like arrows

The white sheet covers his face, the way you do to dead people - you do not want to end up seeing his face, because you wont see anything after it if you do ;)

he is constantly in a state of dusting - never fully committing to it,

His hands and body are covered and stained in monster dust and human blood, stains that can never be washed out

he is in a perpetual state of dusting, never really committing either way, just..constantly decaying

He constantly has this green illness liquid dripping from his eyes and mouth - its poison.

His arrows are all poison tipped as well

His bow and fletch are summonable, and attach to his belt easily - he can summon and de-summon them at will.

His horse - which i didnt draw because fuck that - is activly rotting and decaying, bones and rotting flesh making up its body. its a white horse, obviously, with voidless black eyes

both he and the horse trail dust everywhere, disease laying in the powder

the illness that he causes can be physical sickness, and it can be mental sickness, basically anything you count as ' being unwell' he can cause

hes a bit kooky really, he screams and cries and laughs a lot more than he actually talks but he is capable of it, hes just quiet and ominous really, and theres this lingering presence of illness and threat around him. like his space, which is ironic, because illness festers in crowded spaces, its where he thrives.

When Jeff stepped onboard the Zero-XL, the first thing he noticed was the bright lights that seemed to shine from all directions. Brilliant and blinding and perfectly mirroring the leap in his heart and the smiles on his boys’ faces.

His boys.

He couldn’t stop staring, hardly listening as they filled the atmosphere with hope and joy and laughter. Not even the Hood could bring the mood down as he glared daggers at them all.

Virgil and Gordon had strapped him down to a medical stretcher, preferring to keep him in sight while Alan ran through the pre-flight checks, Scott murmuring in his ear while John frowned at the navigational display beside him.

There was none of the friction he recalled from their younger years, each of his sons safe and secure and slipping past one another as though they rescued men from the stars every day.

Perhaps they did, he mused. They’d obviously not allowed the beautiful machines that he and Brains had built together sit idle.

He tried to ignore the way his knees buckled as he lowered himself into his seat, fingers trembling as he strapped himself in and trying to ignore his sons’ stares.

Adrenaline was one hell of a drug and he was coming down at last.

“Maybe you should get some rest instead, Dad,” said Virgil.

Jeff waved him off. “I’ve been waiting a long time to come home and I’ll do it on my own terms or not at all.”

“We won’t think less of you, if that’s what you’re worried about,” argued Virgil. “There’s no need to be proud.”

Jeff clenched his hands into fists, lips thinning as he furiously tried to control the tremor. “It’s not pride, son,” he said against gritted teeth.

He’d pay the price later, he was sure. But he couldn’t bring himself to leave, aware that he had walked the line between exhaustion and delirium before and that the presence of his boys – real and alive and so much more than his poor imagined imitations could hope to be – was the only evidence that this wasn’t a hallucination.

Information would keep the creeping tendrils of fear that this was the product of some fever dream out of his mind and so Jeff turned instead to Scott.

“How long?”

Scott straightened imperceptibly as he turned back to Jeff, radiating a surety he’d barely begun to grow into the last time they’d been together.

“Eight years,” he said.

Eight years!

Jeff exhaled slowly, trying to calm his racing mind. His reckoning had been off by more than three years, unable to mark the passage of time with the sun and stars above him. No wonder Alan looked so much like a young man. No wonder Gordon moved like someone recovered from old injuries that Jeff couldn’t recall. No wonder his older sons were starting to bear the finest marks of age, despite their youth.

So much could happen in eight years.

“And your grandma?” Jeff trailed off, not sure of what he wanted to know, remembering all the times he’d woken in the eternal night, sure that this time his mother was dead, that the thudding in his chest signified something worse than nightmares.

“She’s fine,” said Scott quickly. “More than fine. Still trying to bake us cookies.”

“She actually gave us some for when we found you,” said Gordon with a grin. “I incinerated them before we left.”

Jeff barked a laugh and leant back in his chair.

“And Kyrano? Kayo?”

“We haven’t seen Kyrano much,” said Scott. “He took it pretty hard when you… vanished.”

“He’s okay,” cut in Virgil. “Semi-retired and spent some time with family in Malaysia before Lady Penelope invited him to consult for Kew Gardens. Kayo says he’s enjoying it but he hates the weather.”

Jeff chuckled. “He did always despise feeling cold. Got into his bones, he said. What about Uncle Tim? I assume he’s stuck pretty close to you. We always said if something happened to either of us in the field that we’d look out for each other’s families.”

 There was a pause, a silence that gaped between them as his sons looked at one another. Jeff’s heart pounded, a cold sweat breaking out across his brow. His lips tingled, turning numb as he read what must have happened in his sons’ careful expressions.

“He’s not dead,” he asked, already knowing with an awful certainty that loomed over him. “He can’t be, I… I wasn’t there. How’s Lesley and the kids doing? When did it happen? Oh God, how–”

“Dad, breathe!”

He didn’t know who said it but he obeyed instantly. The air caught in his chest and he tried again, and again, losing himself to the slow count as his vision returned.

“What–” he began, but Scott held up a hand to prevent further questions.

“Dad, Lesley is fine. And T-tim…” He stumbled over the name as though it were foreign, looking over at his brothers for help.

“She’s Aunt Val now,” said Gordon, cheerfully. He shrugged at Scott’s glare. “No sense wasting time.”

He turned back to Jeff and grinned widely. “She’s not dead, but she’s a lot happier as far as I can tell. She told us a few months after you left.”

Jeff sat frozen, his fears vanishing so quickly that he felt a sense of vertigo.

Then he smiled.

“Well then, she finally told everyone, thank goodness for that!”

Scott blinked.

“You already knew?”

“I’m one of her best friends, of course I knew,” said Jeff, sill grinning broadly. “She told us years ago, didn’t want to make a fuss until she’d achieved her career goals because she didn’t want anyone to say they only gave it to her for a political statement. I always said that was ridiculous, but then she’d know better than me, I guess. I’m only sorry I missed the party.”

The atmosphere relaxed around him, the uncertain defensive wall dropping in an instant.

“She didn’t have one in the end,” said Virgil. “Said it didn’t feel right without you.”

Jeff frowned.

“First thing we do when we get home then,” he said. “Throw her a party.”

“After we’ve checked you out.”

Jeff waved a hand.

“I’m fine. I already told you.”

Virgil glared at Scott. “He’s as bad as you.”

Scott laughed. “Let’s go home.”

Jeff looked around the room one more time as they all steadied themselves for the countdown.

Five. John’s eyes darted back and forth across the navigational controls with a steel focus, wordlessly whispering unknown calculations.

Four. Gordon grimaced in anticipation of the jump ahead and glared at the Hood as he made sure he was still secure.

Three. Alan breathed carefully, and Jeff could practically see the checklist scrolling in his mind as he lay his hands on the thrusters.

 Two. Virgil was watching him, searching for any final sign of injury.

One. Scott looked out across the stars, his eyes settling on the far-off sun as he drew himself up to his full height.

Zero.

The jump blurred against his mind, the memory of the Zero-X launch achingly familiar against his bones.

And then, Jeff saw her with a hitching breath, blue and white and brown and green.

He was home.

We had a debate about how to approach the protag's use of pronouns (my fic uses they/them but Russian is heavily gendered) and I gave him my blessing. I never finished that fic, so idk where we stand. In general as long as you ask I'm fine.

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I mean I do hope I can finish all of them at some point? Especially since I got everything mapped out already. But realistically... Portal isn't happening probably, and the Reverse!AU was more of a vibe than plot thing, so its chances are slim.

What are your writing strengths? Descriptions I think, and sentence structure. I love playing with short/long sentences and punctuation for both impact and humor.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language? I'm not categorically against it as long as it's realistic and with purpose. Monolingual people look up how multilingual people speak please.

First fandom you wrote in? The earliest I can remember is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I never finished that one either I think :,D

Favorite fic you've written? I did some ambitious fic for Hellsing that I did a ton of historical research for, but of my new ones I'm very fond of How to be an actual fucking Pirate (A guide by Israel Hands) and did I mention I have an original project?

If you were forced to write only one genre for the rest of your life (like James Patterson lol) what would you want it to be? Urban fantasy I think. If I want to branch out I can intriduce time travel for that period piece hehe

THE CURSE OF THE MAN-SPIDER (it's important to capitalize the whole title 😂) Specific to windowverse but probably stands alone fairly well. (even if i need to edit it again since I decided to give Peter glasses in his 20s...)

and I think the HOA psychic vampires Peter/Flash fic where they pretend to be married and get stuck in a gated community on Long Island (When I come home at night) was a lot of fun to write :) Love for Peter's stubbornness to be a major plot point lol

This is hard, because my older more popular works were written before AO3 existed. Years of comments are lost when transferring them to AO3, and so the stats don't tell the story. Anyway, I chose Jolene (21.5K). It was my ‘most popular’ at the time and was part of the Guns & Handcuffs Bookshelf Part 2 (most read 2007-2009). Wow does that date me. LOL.

Jolene (2007) was the first story I ever posted on LJ. It was for ‘hd_inspired mpreg anon fest’ and it was a wonderful experience, but a dangerous one for a new writer. I wrote it in three days and it was both popular and controversial. I’ve never written a 20K fic again in 3 days and not any that equaled it’s popularity at the time. I have written more controversial. :)

The main prompts for the requested mpreg story was genderbending and no details on the pregnancy. *blink*.  Genderbending as a tag, is one that isn’t used much anymore, so if you read this story and have a recommendation of what I should use, please DM me here on Tumblr and let me know.  Thanks!

2 Hidden Gems:

Rotten Wood (3K) is what I consider a missing scene from canon.

Summary:  Draco is returning for his seventh year at Hogwarts. He boards the train knowing his status among his fellow Slytherins is in question. HPDH Compliant

The relationship is marked  Draco/Pansy but this is no way a romance. For me, this was the closest I’ve come to writing canon Draco. It’s a bit brutal in thought, action, and language.
