also by the way in this blog we love aziraphale to the end of time
i can’t blame him for what he said at the end because I think i can see what’s going on in his head that’s making him act like that
i’m going to focus on the “I forgive you” bit because it’s easier to explain
aziraphale has said that to crowley twice (that we know of ofc)
I feel like both times he has said it, he was sort of doing it as a way of sort of saying “I take pity on you because you don’t know what YOU’RE doing” to crowley
like, I feel like aziraphale (much like in season 1) still feels guilty for going against heaven; he still feels like he has to fulfill his duty as an angel because he’s scared that what he and crowley have been doing is not “right”
he’s so blinded by “the great plan” and “doing the good thing” that he’s convinced himself that angels ARE doing the right thing, so saying “I forgive you” to crowley is sort of him saying “I understand that you do the things you do and you act the way you act because of your circumstances and the context that you have been forced to live in (heaven failed you and now you can’t trust them), but I take pity on the fact that that is keeping you from seeing that this *is* the way, so I forgive you for that, even though you’re not doing the right thing (I AM)”
aziraphale’s biggest virtue is also his biggest defect: he truly believes in goodness. and that is what’s driving him to trust heaven again, because he’s convinced that the only reason it didn’t work out the first time is because it wasn’t the right people in charge of doing it, so as long as he carries it out, everything should be fine, right? (WRONG, but he can’t see that, or even better, he doesn’t want to see it)
when crowley said that the earth will be just as dead if heaven kills it as it will be if hell does it, he was right, but aziraphale is convinced that poor crowley can’t see that ‘he knows better’
so he forgives him

random nico power headcanon of mine is that he can overhear things through shadows, particularly if he really focuses in and listens, and if anyone says his name it'll catch his attention through the shadows no matter where either of them are.
the angsty half of this hc is that it means Nico is unfortunately extremely aware of all the negative things people say about him, because he's forced to hear it constantly even when no one else is around unless he's actively tuning it out.
the funny half is that it means Nico knows way too much gossip, and the shippy portion is that it means Nico is far too aware of when people are saying nice things about him and he doesn't know what to do about it.

Fun little silly thought I had about the Lair Games and specifically Leo deliberately losing is all the reasons he could have for doing so.
My favorite headcanon for his main motivation is that Splinter wasn’t proud of him anymore.
I imagine that, in the beginning, winning the Lair Games was Leo’s opportunity to shine. He wasn’t artistic or the baby of the family like Mikey, wasn’t a tech genius who created amazing inventions like Donnie, wasn’t the eldest who was insanely strong and dependable like Raph. So he had to shine somewhere else- anywhere else- and what better way to get attention than to be a winner? A champion?
And then he won too much. And it wasn’t special anymore. He got too big headed, too cocky, he knew this was his element and he ran with it.
Splinter’s words of congratulations slowly petered out. Suddenly, there was no real reason to win.
Winning feels empty when the only one cheering you on is yourself.
So- Leo schemed. And he’s a great schemer, fooling his whole family (and Donnie did deserve a win- people were way happier when he won.)
He even gave up his prized possession! His room!
Though he knows his brothers probably think it’s a bad prize. A terrible one, even.
Leo doesn’t sleep much as is, though. So Dad’s snores were more comforting than anything. It was reassuring to hear him so clearly alive and close by.
Even if the distance between them was larger than Leo’d like.
He’d just have to find something else, something more to show his dad that Leo was someone to trust, to be proud of, to love.
He gets his chance soon after, when he needs to pull off a plan against Big Mama at his dad’s side. Leo can only hope this victory is one that has a lasting effect when his father looks at him with pride once more.
Victory, for Leo, is a pretty loaded term.

does anyone else get so upset when you think about all the things that happened to your f/o... all the things they went through? all the things they haven't healed from? the pain that they may still be enduring? how you can do your best to help them but you can't protect them from everything. so you just love them the ways they needed before, how they deserved. and you see them happy because they finally accept, at least in some ways, that they do deserve it. they deserve love like all beings do

yuuta exhibits such previously abandoned, recently adopted dog behavior. incredibly anxious all the time, even though nobody’s out to get him or leave him behind. waits for you to return home or from school or from work excitedly, just to see you when you walk through the door. follows you around senselessly, hovering in your space just for the sake of companionship. initiates affection in prodding ways—starts off next to you, then a hand on your thigh, then deems it safe to lay all the way down, then slowly pushes his head into your lap. gets up whenever you need to get up, and resumes his position as soon as you’re ready. brings you gifts as a sign that he’s thinking of you, and maybe because he likes the affection it brings out in you, maybe because he likes the gentle affirming touches of a hand in his hair or a pinch to his cheek. rests his head on your stomach or his chin on your shoulder when he’s sleepy, stays there, immobile, and will not move unless absolutely necessary. sometimes he gets surprised when he hears you calling for him, there’s a moment of disbelief as he thinks “me? really? you need me?” but it’s very quickly overshadowed by this compulsive need to show up, to please, to do anything for you, which is why he always answers when you call. he doesn’t realize that he has puppygod eyes, especially when he’s excited or confused, but he does and it’s incredible endearing. very reluctant to share your space or attention after a while, considers that to be sacred and he won’t risk being let go or lost again, so as a safety precaution, he keeps himself right by you, waits for you always.

I HATE IT HERE check it out. ep 17 spoilers but I worded it very vaguely
look at this. he's yelling at laios and shuro (iirc) because they're not taking the threat in front of them seriously, and look at his shoulder. he's already taking off his armor. He watched everyone in shuro's party get obliterated one by one and IMMEDIATELY chose to engage the threat in like, assassination style rather than head-on monster fight style. with NO hesitation he prepared to attack the threat like he's killing a person, and shed his armor (you know, the stuff that Protects His Body) in favor of being able to move quickly and silently, and did not waver at all. He did what he did with NO second thoughts. holy fucking shit

the genuine horror and tragedy of early orihime's storyline is that, when a loved one dies, we all comfort ourselves with blanket statements about what they would have wanted for us by saying "they would've wanted us to be happy" / "they would have wanted us to move on" and we try to make meaningful lives for ourselves because that's what they would have liked for us (even if we ourselves feel like the world has stopped in their absence). so much of post-grief behavior is performative, trying to convince people you're fine and you're okay and you're moving on, and this is doubly so for orihime, who doesn't know much about the afterlife yet and is convinced she's got to put on a believable enough performance for her brother so he won't worry about her.
and most of us will never know or see if we grieved our loved ones right or not, but for orihime, the curtain is ripped apart and it turns out her performance is too good, her brother actually believes it's real and he lambasts her for grieving him the wrong way. of course, it's his hollow that's turned him to be selfish and possessive, but it couldn't have been easy for orihime to have been telling herself "i just have to smile for him, i just have to push through for him" only for him to go: why are you smiling? why are you pushing through? i'm dead. to make matters worse, he adds that he's lived his whole life for her, which is such an insurmountable guilt for her to bear and such a messed up thing to hear from a caretaker at such a young age!!!

okay so we all know the "cole, is that you?" line but. angsty proposition for the "why are you dressed like a pirate?" line.
jay had been tortured ruthlessly by nadakhan and his crew. not only had he lost half of his vision but he was clearly incredibly disoriented when cole showed up.
one of his first proper escape attempts was just a set-up by the crew to destroy his feeling of security (what little of it he had at least) that just ends up in him getting beaten again. but i doubt it was the last time that he tried to escape. and all the same, with how much they laughed, i doubt it was the last time they pulled something similar.
did he ever find a forged response letter saying his friends were coming for him and cared just for the pirates to laugh at his pathetic tears when he's told it's a fake?
did he ever hear their voices, only for it to lead him straight to the scrap and tap ring?
his trust is broken off piece by piece, not just for the crew of course (that shattered right away), but also for his friends as the crew begins to convince him that they don't care about him. that they hate him. nadakhan read jay so easily and saw through his mask he'd been wearing for years as if his face was bare, so why wouldn't he believe the pirates couldn't be right about other things, too? even if he didn't want to admit it.
that they hated him for what he'd done and left him for dead.
as each day passes by and each glimmer of hope ends up just another ruse for the pirates to laugh at before they slam his head against the wooden floor, the more it'd set in. bit by bit.
what are the chances that in the moment he sees cole, in that pirate uniform, his first thought wasn't genuine confusion or relief, but fear?
fear because pirates don't fight fair,
his friends are dressed like pirates,
and his friends hate him.

Was it love at first sight for Mikey and the tots? Did it take Mikey some time to warm up to them? Super cute AU!!
It was kind of hectic when Mikey saw the tots for the first time ever, while also being emotionally stunted, so the warming up is kind of a slow but surely process!
