the urge to infodump about gameplay to my friend who started as a tank is definitely because i love talking about the game and NOT because im a healer main who is... so tired

#'heres a list of things you shouldnt do as a tank: aggro ping pong in alliance raids.'#thats it thats the entire list #ive had too many disastrous wod runs just because some idiots all wanted to main tank and kept spinning the first major boss #which yeah! that does end with all of your dps on the floor! im almost in shock.#i can cope with forgotten mitigation. i can cope with small dungeon pulls. i can cope with big dungeon pulls! i can cope with a tankbuster #hitting a dps because the tank stood too close.#I CANT COPE WITH THE TANK PULLING THAT BOSS TO FACE EVERYONE ELSE #doesn't everyone have like. that one bossfight that they hate the most when it goes wrong because-#also its so funny to me how in puppets bunker with the line tankbusters it goes wrong 90% of the time #but in euphrosyne? clean as hell. is it the boss size. surely the 10 level difference shouldnt matter. is it the arena not being weird.#i like disastrous alliance raid runs. i like laughing at a wipe at the end of lota because someone REALLY thought they could kill phlegeton #before the second ancient flare. i like to heal puppets bunker in part because it goes wrong 80% of the time #ive wiped in puppets bunker laughed about it and explained the mechanics #like i am patient. as all hell #granted i also laugh about disastrous wod runs so maybe im just insane

saying kazui's story is about homophobia isn't wrong, but it's focusing entirely on a small part of the overall picture. even if kazui lived in a world where being gay was accepted, he'd still be suffering, because it's so much more than that. the toxic expectations and pressure forced onto men all their lives, the level of responsibility and independence adults are assumed to have, the huge importance placed on family- these are huge parts of his character that i worry people overlook in favour of just talking about queerness

fking sucks as a female engineer i have to literally go through all the documentation for a subject just to be like i read the docs here’s where ur wrong bc me going ‘my understanding is-‘ by itself has historically not been enough to persuade Anyone.

The thing that kills me about the Star Wars prequel trilogy and why I will die on my hill that my problem is not that Star Wars is a tragedy, its that its a badly written tragedy, is that Anakin Skywalker was at his closest to being a good Jedi when he was ten years old.

#im not an anakin apologist by any means because I get the point of his character and Im not pro or anti jedi #my only real opinion on all of it is similar to what I was saying about Peter and Tony and the MCU yesterday #its badly written. its EVERYONE being contorted into shapes that dont make a ton of sense in service to #getting characters to where they need to end up for certain things to occur #my opinion is not that Anakin is inherently bad or good or that the Jedi are inherently bad or good #its that their entire conflict was set in motion by forcing the Jedi to act in ways that felt massively OOC when they were #first interviewing him as a kid and like.....I ACCEPT that the Jedi are supposed to be for the most part kindhearted and empathetic and all #of that which is why its so noteworthy in my opinion that this does not match with how they were FORCIBLY portrayed in those early movies #in order to ENGINEER the idea that this kid in desperate need of support but already with a lot of good instincts and positive traits #came to the order of kindly supportive literal empaths and everything went downhill from there #like kindly supportive literal empaths would not in my opinion look at a kid trying his best to be brave & stoic in completely intimidating #circumstances and surroundings and be judgmental and fairly dismissive about it as though theyve never met a kid before let alone a #traumatized one and the fact that thats kinda what happened is in contrast to how a lot of pro anakin people frame that NOT proof #that the Jedi order are inherently bad its that in that key scene and multiple others #the Jedi order were BADLY WRITTEN in pursuit of one pre-determined outcome that mattered more to the script/Lucas than #being true to their core conceit and characterizations. and thats just one example out of dozens I could list and the same holds true for #anakin's side of things so thats why I always steer far away from SW discourse #because Im like the problem with the characters in terms of the most iconic arc is not really any of the characters so much #as the plots refusal to let them actually consistently BE characters rather than just fixed and contrived stepping stones on the way to #the desired endpoint

ever since that one ask i keep thinking abt Jakkans timeline with the whole 'Ollie's demonic genetics cause him to age super slowly and outlive everyone else' so hes like 1000 years old but only looks like he's in his mid 40s but hes also like a half cyborg at this point

ooh I was just talking to my sister about this but if there were a goodreads bot like that spotify bot that judges your music I would 100% get "you're too trendy for your own good" because I rarelyyy read books written before 2000 (or even like. 2020 most of the time unless it's non fiction in recent years tbh) lmao 😭 I really liked ponniyin selvan and animal farm. rk narayan's stuff and satyajit ray's feluda stories are iconic obviously. malory towers was my favourite series growing up and it'll always have a special place in my heart. i havent finished them yet but i feel like the joy luck club and annie on my mind are shaping up to be favourites too <3

ok letterboxd update: ive logged everything ive watched since the start of september 2023 however:

im missing januarys movies (will update)

most of the gaps in movie diary months are when ive watched a tv episode (mostly columbo, occasionally mst3k or rare days when ive just watched what was on tv)

i havent counted movies ive watched while commuting/at work yet

#can you believe im not entirely sure i have autism. anyway #i think columbo episodes should be counted as movies but i understand why they arent and why the first tv movies are #and i realize i could log the movie that theyre watching in a mst3k episode but thats not the same thing to me #i accidentally missed taking a picture of januarys movie calendar #(because i watch these movies w my dad we make up a movie calendar. yes this is silly carrie lore)#i have to like. look through my search history to find the dates i finished watching certain movies at work/commuting #although my log of the spy with a cold nose which i watched commuting is there bc i watched it on youtube and could easily get the date #again more autism fueled precise logging. this is really satisfying the urge to have lists isnt it #i don't knowwww. if i wanna keep logging before sep 2023 just because its a pain to keep scrolling back. i don't know. does anyone caare #also im sorry im not writing a single review for any of these rip it gets a star rating and then a heart if i liked it we are moving on #my one written review is the funny line i had for watching lost highway last year in july #ANYWAY. i was going to say ill share me url after i get januarys movies but whatever im gonna share it now in a post following this one #but i will regularly maintain this for as long as i have the motivation to
