Charlie: He literally ran off to go take care of dragons almost immediately this boy is an adventurous type but like also a very cool go with the flow type i don't know if there's an actual name for this type but do you know what i'm talking about? like i feel you could sneak in his room at 2am wake him up and tell him to go flying with you and he would do it with little question

Percy: A pure Workaholic/Megane type through and through but could arguable (imo) also easily be thrown into an older brother type role but i feel like unlike Bill whenever he does it in a post war scenario he would notice and backpaddle because he feels like he no right to. if Fred is dead and from the same way also probably has a bit of Kuudere vibes thrown in for good measure

Fred&George: very much sweet devil style types that you can tweak the extent of depending on the route and if Fred is dead well then you got a Jerk character who "just wants to be left alone" on your hands and by that i mean needs love

Ron: depends on who you made the protag for example if it went the route of letting you pick like Harry or Hermione(ideal imo) boom there you go Best Friend archetype right there if not then shrugs I'm not sure what he'd fit otherwise Himbo maybe? its not super common in LIs but it should be

Ginny: tomboy but again if you go Harry or Hemione you can also pull best friends younger sibling vibes into the mix or if you use someone else then Ginny could be the friend who brought you and now she gets to be the Best Friend type oh or maybe the "romance the stat teller" trope if it was a stat raising kind if game.

JUST finished heishi’s route in norn9 hold on i wanna talk about whatever i just witnessed (also might have spoilers for kakeru and senri since those are the other two ive finished) (also also spoilers for amnesia memories because i always wanna talk about amnesia memories)

SO LIKE ive been playing norn9 in the slowest way humanly possible (started in 2017 and im three routes down half a decade later LOL not a bad game tho!! the soundtrack is fantastic and the comedy writing is really great even if the plot stuff so far feels a little disjointed, its just a 9 love interest game is a little overwhelming hfjdksjsfkdls) and like i have a tendency to take several month long breaks between routes as well as whatever my brain decides is a natural stopping point and last time i played heishi’s route was like. some time last year. i was unmedicated at the time so i dont remember where exactly but it was like JUST before his first attempt at a confession on the top floor/roof thing of the orb they live on, and like

i think ive mentioned before how while ive heard that Toma’s behaviour is explained in the amnesia fandiscs as his mild possessiveness being amplified by time loop wackiness, i still choose to believe he’s just Like That because i think its hilarious to add just one more strange incongruous thing to a simultaneous grounded and out there game like amnesia (like how mathematicians in this universe seem to wear a lot of belts????????). well ive decided in my head to view heishi’s route as the opposite HJFJDhjlkfdssjflkd

like RIGHT after he got his confession wiped from his memory by nanami to stop ron from shooting him, he got like WACKY like it felt like i was playing a different route with a different guy and i dunno about the fandiscs yet but in game its explained as heishi losing control over the emotions he’s been suppressing because he’s in love and stressed out but I CHOOSE to believe that the mind wipes scrambled his brain because i like. the speculative fiction implications of that JKDLSDJs

the other bad ends i played werent quite this level like kakeru’s had him getting wacky cause of his mind control earring which was nuts and i loved it but it like. was foreshadowed. and i dont remember senri’s bad ending at all (as forementioned i was unmedicated while finishing it so i dont remember everything orz i do remember natsuhiko being like ‘jesus christ is that a fucking gremlin” every time he saw him tho which was hilarious) but i cant imagine it was that nuts, but girl. oh my god

everyone always talks about ron (haven’t gotten to him yet but like. looking at him in other routes i can guess how he’s gonna be. which is kind of a shame and why i dont really care for the yandere routes being obvious LOL like okay the sketchy amoral guy is sketchy and amoral. who coulda guess. im being mean sorry i think i just love wild shit happening in otome games, i just think itd be really funny if instead of being fucked up, after all his behaviour in other routes, ron was just like a normal dude in his own. keep my on my toes otome games) but i hadnt heard a LICK about heishi. actually maybe thats why it worked so well... i was so prepared for whatever’s gonna go on with ron that i let my guard down with heishi fsjkldkfjsd

You wouldn't think this silly little dating sim game would have time travel Shenanigans in it. It an all the deeply fucked up stuff once you start peeling back the layers of the hehe otome game.

We have disappeared again from another timeline. And brought into the past-

In the OG Obey Me we go into a different timeline. Watch that time line MC get murderd by Bel (not the hungry one). You then take her place with the lie that Barbatos will fuse the timelines/ any timeline he is in is the correct one. An everything is supposedly fine. He also says some type of convoluted bullshit.an it turns out Diavolo low key new all the shady shit that was happening or will happen.

But we know for a fact that in the hard missions. Its implied that your OG timeline people are still waiting for you to come back.

So- not once but twice have we been yanked from a timeline and placed in another. Leaving the boys to fend for themsleves.

I thought that they would pull some- "hey maybe don't interact with the boys from the past to much or you'll fuck something up in the future." Nah, so far you are mentoring them into becoming the boys you know. First hint of this is Levi with his pet snake. Diavolo instantly ask you to become a fonder of the school- like that directly affects the time line. The only excuse is if you are a new player and don't havr the bagges of playing the other game first. Cause thats insane-

The characterization is different too. But like in a good way. Mammon is the biggest change because when you first meet him. He almost immediately falls in love with you. This one he still the same but very different. He doesn't have that puppy dog im in love vibe anymore.

I never trusted/still don't trust Diavlo, salmon, and Barbatos, and I sure as fuck still don't like Belhpie. I have never had a bigger sus feeling towards a set of characters before. (also don't get me wrong they could have retcon shit about the timeline jumping. There so much in the game lore wise besides it just being a cute dating sim.)

i finished tsukihime! i liked the main game a lot, but. finished kagetsu tohya and did not enjoy that nearly as much - i tried to play the original melty blood, but i couldnt get it to work, anywhere? and all the help i got from various discords was being told "why are you trying to play it" lol. i know i want to play hollow ataraxia soon, watch fate/zero eventually, and extra, one day? im not very good at dungeon crawlers so i know thats more of a commitment.

im really proud of myself, i feel like i finally got through just about everything i had planned to get through when i first started! my only problem is that im not sure exactly, what to try and play next - i want to try and play otome games, but. it seems like those are more consistently expensive, unlike the games i have been playing where theyre older / cheaper or just abandonware. i got told to start with Amnesia, which i hope i like! i think afterwards the only one im dead set on playing is Umineko, which i just want to wait till im confident i can have my full attention on playing, yknow.

mhyk for dummies: mahoyaku is a pretty boy mobage. i am so sorry i just need to get that out there. anyways two things that *i* think that set it apart from other mobages is its not an otome so you cant date any of the characters AND its got more of a focus on non-romantic pairings i guess? idk if that makes sense but it does show and i do greatly enjoy the relationships (platonic, romantic, or whatever the fuck) between a lot of the characters since imo its very well written. even if i havent been keeping up with any of the stories. ALSO since its in a wizard universe they do some pretty cool things with gender... dont want to say they are nonbinary but the creator did confirm that gender works differently for wizards. Highly enjoyable. Also a lot of bisexuals but some of them embarass me

ANYWAYS its a wizard world... wizards are born as like um.. idk theyre pretty rare unless its hereditary i think but i would say out of 100 random human babies one of them is a wizard. this comes with neat perks like: magic! immortality as long as you dont get killed (tbf its very hard to get killed if youre magic but wtv)! trying to think of other perks but really i think thats it! it also has cons like: a lot of people fucking hate you for no reason if they find out youre a wizard! and if you make a promise and break it you lose all ur magic :(. wizards turn into mana stones when they die (pretty rocks, also the gacha currency which is really fucking funny), which other wizards can eat to gain power or humans can use to power magic tools. ppl wont find out youre a wizard unless you start using magic or youre there long enough so that ppl r like "Hey its been 50 years why is this guy not aging". (ofc u only STOP aging after u hit ur magic peak but thats only a fun bit of trivia that isnt super relevant? idk)

before i get into anything else: there are 5 countries (north, east, south, west, central, very creatively named ik ik). north is a brutal country, the idea of survival of the fittest is probably taken to the extreme there, although there are some exceptions. its "ruled" by whoever the reigning wizards are there at the time, which leads to some pretty insane northern wizards! so muchmental illness. east has probably the worst of wizard hating, very forested country and ppl there tend to be pretty isolated/keep to themselves but witch? wizard? hunts are fairly common there. probably worst place societally to live as a wizard. south is the nicest place to live out of the five sort of... i think in recent history the coal miners overthrew the feudal lords so the entirety of south is still sort of being actively developed, its kind of barren but also not? idk. wizards and humans live in harmony in south, but as a result, the wizards there are also known for being really weak and err... "softhearted" in comparison. western country is full of insane people. they also generally dont like wizards but if youre funny enough theyll enjoy you. western is sort of steampunky as a result of being like the idk tech capital of the wizard world. most western wizards are fucking insane but in a really benevolent and cute way. im skipping over an insane amount of worldbuilding btw HELP umm theres nuance to all of these places nods nods im kind of just giving the broad strokes here. anyways finally central! i love central. sort of the trading hub of the world. had a famous revolution led by wizards about 100 years ago and there was wizard jesus christ. anyways wizard jesus christ gets betrayed by his closest friend, his closest friend burns him at the stake, the revolution fails but then his closest friend rewrites history to portray wizard jesus christ as a saint and also to say that the revolution wasnt for wizards but rather against the reigning king by humans? i love central rev btw such interesting worldbuilding... sedespa and aapeli from my game aare from central rev. ANYWAYS thats probably the closest i can get to the mhyk for dummies < guy who didnt talk about the pplot or characters of mahoyaku at all.

also the moon is evil and tries to kill everyone once a year they call it the great calamity. not super relevant for my game but very relevant for mahoyaku.

last? do you mean least, or most recent? if most recent, probably the revelation that one of the characters who has heterochromia was actually part of a part of quadruplets originally and he and his newly-found heterochromia-having twin sister cannibalized their quadruplets in the womb.

if LEAST insane... honestly the fact that the mc is the only (cis) girl in the whole school is like. literally nothing. normally thats the set up for some romance otome shit but no people are like huh it's a girl whatever after dropkicking her in the face and using her unconscious body for a game of 'the floor is lava'. (yes, that just happened in the story i read.) im sorry idk what is sane abt this game. they actually do homework i think?

MOST insane... i mean. *gestures at the cannibalism above* but warning tw suicide there's also an entire pre-game era called the 'war arc' where one of the games' characters (along with his two right hand men) "reformed" the entire school by turning the school against five chosen students, causing a lot of mental breakdowns, people quitting the school, suicides, etc. to the extent that a year later, during the era of the first game (theres two games), people still get freaked out when they see someone going up to the school roofs bc they think they're going to jump. the war era goes a lot deeper than that but i read the wikia page for that and was like. what the actual fuck. haven't read the stories in that era yet tho.

also one of the characters is part of a cult where he was worshipped as a god since like. birth. and another character is a former member of that cult determined to break it up and free that god-friend and also multiple characters are legit down to commit murder/potentially have committed murder. one character is an assassin. i have barely begun to scratch the surface on what the fuck is going on in ensemble stars.

and you know recently i was thinking about the otome isekai vs otome game conundrum (a lot of the tropes and genre staples the isekai stories have in their fictional otome games are not very reflective of real life otome game trends historically) again and like ive mentioned before now that i dont mind that too much (although i do personally prefer my isekais generally to be into a book or a comic or something linear (or of course the classic isekai into the past or an alternate universe is also great) unless the story really goes out of its way to take advantage of video-gamey weirdness. if u die in the game u die in real life!!!!!!! shit like that LOL) but i was also thinking about like. i wonder how an isekai into an otome game would actually look like....

there is the problem that the localized scene is only a fraction of whats out there (although recent years have been very kind to us! but if u ever want good motivation to practice ur japanese, go on vndb and look at the sheer amount of jpn only psp otome games there are on this earth 😔 someday.....................) so if u were going based off the english speaking perception, otome games are like painfully varied genre and setting wise and full of high stakes action LOL we have been getting quite a few lower stakes ones about actors though recently....

alas as implied before i dont speak japanese (YET.......) so my knowledge is only secondhand and you should take everything i say with a grain of salt BUT it does seem in the jpn only psp era we had a LOT of highschool otome games, and it seems like samurai never go out of style. vaguely medieval and vaguely victorian fantasy is also a classic, although unlike most of the isekai stories it seems nowadays most villains will be men (another guy to romance) and villainesses are still pretty rare after like 2005.... but its still difficult to find a common denominator here to play off of cliches

BUT i do think there could be something funny about an isekai main character trying to remember the exact dialogue options needed to not get a random bad end HJWHRJDSHJFs oh fuck if i go left i'll run off a cliff and die!!! or was it right.....

but thats more on the character route-structure visual novel side of things, on the more stat-raiser-y true dating simulator side of things (we dont have a whole lot outside of a few indie games and a couple fantranslations) those seem to be largely fantasy (Angelique and the like) or high school stuff (there were ten bajillion on the psp and some ds ones too!)

many isekais do take the angelique fantasy story route, but it could be fun specifically to play on the princess competition premise. also didnt one angelique game let u play as the rival character? thats a bit intriguing...... but on the later highschool dating sim end of things i guess it makes sense thats not used as a setting that often LOL i mean I was playing storm lover kai like one wrong turn could kill me BUT that is not. the intended experience of these games hkjfdhjrkgfeldjfs but actually maybe it could be interesting for a horror or thriller story.... i just wanted to have fun being isekaied into my favourite romcom dating sim but everyones dying somehow????? this isnt in the programming?????????

i dunno its kinda fun to think about! i think usually among the english speaking audience the general consensus is that if they were isekaied into their favourite otome game they'd probably get killed immediately. if that says anything about the medium as a whole in the localized sphere.

Otometober Day 6 The Part Where You Cry

This one was a hard one because there are so many scenes in my otome's that have made me cry however I'm thankful for each and everyone at some point because they give me a closeness to the character that I love anyways. However I sat and tried to think of one time that I cried that wasn't for good reasons. This would come from Ephemeral Fantasy On Dark, I love this game and there are happy and sad tears in this game however the good ending of Nagi was messed up it really wasn't even a good ending and it had me in tears. In the end he gives up his own life so that the MC lives.

So for those who don't know she has a doll thats possesed that takes over Cloe's mind and it makes her forget Nagi every time she realizes he is the love of her life the slate is clean and she restarts. So in the long run he spends every day reminding her who he is for only a fraction of a minute for her to eventually remember she loves him and then slate cleaned again. He does this until one day he will disappear and although he will be beside her he will never be seen again. That is a bad ending to me not normal WTF anyways this is how it should have gone for a normal ending at least. Honestly anything I write is gonna sound better than that. SMH.

Cloe hears a knock at her door before she can answer Nagi opens the door smiling at her as he walks in. "Cloe how are you feeling today?" She hears Nagi in his soft voice say to her. There is something comforting about hearing him say her name, she isn't sure why but she looks forward to him stopping by daily to see her. She had only met him 6 months before and he has stayed by her side as her best friend. She wonders sometimes if the way she feels about him being there if there is more to this than a simple friendship. She spends another day hearing about his days and back when they were in school even though he doesn't remember him they know all the same people they joke about and reminisce on. When its time for him to leave and go home her heart hurts the tightening in her chest is painful enough to make her gasp for air the moment she hears the door shut and he is gone again.

She decides the next day she wants to tell him how she feels for him and is excited yet nervous about doing so. She sits in the window with the creepy little doll sitting there beside her she notices it looking over at it wondering why she even has this little doll when it literally creeps her out. She decides to take it off the shelf and throw it in the trash. As she is heading to the bin Nagi walks in with a smile so warm across his face. He looks scared yet astonished I have to know what he is thinking she says to herself. "Whats wrong?" He stutters before pointing to the doll "What are you doing with it?" She throws it in the trash bin near the door and turns back to him before mentioning "I have decided I do not need this creepy thing but I do want to talk to you about something if you have time".

Nagi actually looks a bit frightened not sure why Cloe thinks but goes back to sit on the couch before patting beside her. He still hesitant walks over and sits down beside her. She clears her throat "I think I'm falling in love with you!" she blurts out and when she turns to look at him tears are streaming down his face. "I never get tired of you telling me so you love me most?" She leans her hand over not understanding what is going on as she wipes the tears rushing down his face. Cheeks have become a rosy color of pink as does his nose. She says "You I love most!" Then her vision blacks out. Her mind flowing through as she can hear him crying harder and all she wants to do is hold him.

Morning came she opened her eyes and she was on her bed as she turned her head Nagi was snuggled up next to her. She smiled then brushed the hair from his face noticing how truly beautiful he is. He started to stir a bit then looked up at her and you could tell he has spent so much time crying his eyes were red and puffy still. Cloe smiled at him "I love you more than anyone else in the world, and I will stay by you until my death." He looked shocked at her words yet still couldn't stop the tears welling up in his eyes before he said anything he clumsily went to sit up and slipped falling on top of her. He pushed himself up looking at her at a close angle before he just didn't care he had spent years upon years hoping this day would come again, his lips crashed passionately into hers kissing her until they couldn't breathe and had to come up for air.

As he looks down at Cloe after they break apart their lips he asks her with so much love in his voice... Who do you love most in this world?" He awaited her answer anxiously hoping what he had done worked. "You and only you forever until I die." She smiled as she pulled him down to kiss his soft lips again. In between kisses he wants to know to know no matter what she will never forget him even if he fades away and after asking her this she put his mind at rest that he would always be in her heart and she never needed anyone else. She went on to ask him what happened after she blacked out, this was his story that he made sure she understood what could come of all of this.

"I gave the doll a name, one that wasn't what you had given so long ago. I called her Marigold meaning despair, sorrow, and jealousy just like her. She took away your love for me and I will never forgiver her for that. After I gave her a name I told her I hated her and began to stomp her into the ground. It didn't take much before she sounded like she was on repeat until she went poof into smoke and her body dissolved in front of me. With that I think it broke her hold on you so when you came to you still remembered me and your love for me"

He breathed softly after telling her everything then watched as a smile started to form on her face. "You will never get rid of me now Nagi we are to be together til you disappear and then some as well as when all my skin falls off. You will still be my one and only forever and ever.

btw this is everything ive read since I started reading webcomics, so if I dont remember something oops...

tip: if ur looking for a specific web comic search it instead of looking through the categories for it

NOTE: If youre looking to check on a fighting based comic (whether thats hand to hand, system related, magic related, or something else, check the category definitions because my definitions might differ from yours 🙃

Category Definitions (some adapted versions of the ones on anime-planet others are my own versions) -

Apocalypse - Set in apocalyptic worlds, but are NOT permanent transmigration

exs: I Have A Mansion in the Post-apocalyptic World, etc.

Cultivation - manhua focused on extending one's lifespan or growing stronger through the practice of mystical and martial arts; cultivating Qi; combo of Wuxia and Xinxia; this overrides all other categories (transmigration into novels or other categories don't apply)

exs: The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation / Mo Dao Zu Shi, etc.

Fighting - hand to hand combat, or with weapons (knives, guns, tonfa, baton, etc.); set irl; does include unrealistic fighting

exs: Weak Hero, Castle, Supernova, Eleeced, The Boxer, Dice

Fantasy - anything that involves fantasy / science fiction / supernatural elements and doesn't fit into Magic Worlds, Transmigration into Novels, Villainess; Cultivation, Systems, or Video Game Worlds

exs: Lessa, Noblesse, etc.

Magic Worlds - Set in worlds where magic, but not systems exist; these webcomics are centered on the magic

exs: A Returners Magic Should Be Special, etc.

Systems - Set in worlds with systems, like towers, leveling, or game menus (includes people who were transmigrated into a side by side world); does NOT INCLUDE video game worlds

exs: Solo Leveling, Second Life Ranker, The Advanced Player of the Tutorial Tower, SSS Class Suicide Ranker, etc.

Sports - self-explanatory, however e-sports are included in this

exs: No Scope, Top Corner, etc.

Transmigration Into Novels - Set in worlds where people were transmigrated into the novels they were reading (or similar concept); overrides all other categories (except cultivation)

exs: Omniscient Readers Viewpoint, Trash of the Counts Family, etc.

Video Game Worlds - Set in worlds with either systems to a world like a video game; DOES INCLUDE worlds with video game aspects; (includes people who were transmigrated into one of these worlds)

exs: The Gamer, Second Life Ranker (yes its in 2 categories), Hardcore Leveling Warrior, Overgeared, etc.

Video Games - Worlds actually set in Video Games; does not include people who were transmigrated into video games

exs: The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor, etc.

Villainess - about a woman who is written to be the villainess (or someone related to them) in an otome game or novel, and is thus on the road to ruin; usually transmigration; usually in medieval times; MINE INCLUDES SIMILAR SCENARIOS + GENRES (main female mc in medical times)

exs: This Girl Is A Little Wild, Villans are Destined To Die, etc.

thoughts so far...

im honestly pretty curious as to where this story is going. teo is super adorable but i am honestly more curious about the whole space and creating emotions thing. i just know theres gonna be some huge reveal later on. like is teo some AI or like an alien and thats what the whole hospital situation is??

buy anyways i like that theres more to the game than just the chatroom and calls. and seeing other peoples thoughts on the daily question thing is interesting to read sometimes.

really disappointed on the price of their subscription service though. like almost 30$ a month for an otome game? like ive bought game subscriptions before and i dont mind paying like 15$ or 20$ a month but the price theyve set is more than netflix.

gonna be f2p for now but might pay a little for batteries here and there. if i do get invested enough in the game then i'll probably try out the aurora bundle for a month and see how it goes.
