For anyone annoyed by the Tumblr changes, if you're on desktop I would recommend using XKit Rewritten (and New XKit for any other odd changes you'd like to try out, including even older aspects of Tumblr). It's the older version of Rewritten but most of the extensions on it are still supported/do work). I can't guarantee they'll definitely make a fix for it/a direct fix for this particular UI change, but it's possible that they might since they usually make extensions that allow you to essentially revert changes made to the UI. Other various UI extensions (such as old ones from Tumblr's past UIs that the extensions basically just revert you to) may also help fix up your UI.
As you might expect these extensions need to be on to work/revert the appearance of the UI (so if you turn them off you'll revert to the current state of Tumblr), but while they are on you can curate your UI to look how you want it. This goes for both New XKit and XKit Rewritten. I use both and I couldn't live without them lol. You can get some big oldies of Tumblr's, like classic search on Rewritten or the Tweaks extension (full of various UI tweaks) on New XKit (including the old shade of blue Tumblr used a long time ago that I never stopped using!).
Unfortunately I don't know of any solution for mobile if it affects mobile at any point (or if it already has), but whenever you're on desktop, I would definitely recommend both these versions of XKit. I have so many extensions from them that I often don't even realize when there are UI changes (remember how Tumblr added themes for your dashboard? I didn't even notice for the longest time because I've had New XKit on the whole time) because Tumblr's default coding is overwritten by the extensions I have on.
Today, I just learned that my favorite rhythm game ever, Dancing Line, is getting revived after a little less than 3 years after it got indefinitely removed from most app stores.
This makes me indescribably happy because that game means so much to me on a sentimental level. It kinda makes me realize that I might have been knocked out of my flow of making the comic based off of it (the longest comic I've ever made in my life) because of losing the point of why I even started making it.
Lines started out as a silly comic mostly meant for me and my friends, getting bigger and bigger as the game updated more and more. But when the game shut down, it was around that time that I wanted to show the comic to others to make this game more well known, and hopefully lift the moods of others who might want to read about silly characters doing silly things with an increasingly strange story.
Hilariously, the comic has nothing to do with much of what happens in the game since it doesn't really have an actual story at all, but it has immense spirit and beauty and heart put into it. The community around dancing line fell apart once the game essentially became discontinued, it felt like a ghost town with a few stragglers hanging around waiting to see what would happen.
Now that I see this official revival, I'm finding the motivation to continue working on the comic as a whole again. It was never abandoned, I would never do that to something I care so much about. I just needed to remember the reason and feelings around why I did it: Because it made me happy, and it made others happy too. I just want to see people enjoy themselves, even if things get harrowing or sad or scary.
I love dancing line, and hopefully more people will see it this time around to give it the love it deserves.
I feel like people need to understand that liking a character does not automatically mean that you think they're perfect flawless beings?
Like, my fave is Belphie. I love him, his storyline is very interesting, I think he can be kind and compassionate, I love how straightforward he is, and he's the adorable youngest sibling.
He's also a fucking menace who literally offed MC, had an entire plan to commit genocide, is snarky, sassy, part of the anti-Luci league, and a manipulative brat.
These things are not mutually exclusive. I very well understand that Belphie is certainly not a completely morally-amazing character; however, I still love his development, his sibling relationships, and his general personality.
In conclusion: The characters you like do not define your personality. You can like characters because of something in your real life, but when consumed normally, fictional characters are...pretty harmless drawings.
If you want extra reassurance: I am yet to murder anyone lol.
it's funny how disney+ is very shitty in my country like apparently it barely works and crashes all the time and you can't search anything etc and then instead of fixing it they keep spending money on advertising it everywhere. girl no one is going to pay for your service if it doesn't even work !!!!!!!! and this is a small country we're all stuck up each other's asses so we KNOW it doesn't work you are not going to get new subscribers!!!!!!!
