before it was like, "what a horrifying thing to do to a human being! to take away their autonomy and privacy, all for the sake of profits! to create fake scenarios for them to react to, just to retain viewership! to ruin their happiness just so some corporate entity could harvest money from their very humanity! how could anyone do something so evil?"

and now it's like, "ah, yeah. this is still deeply fucked up, but it's pretty much what every influencer has been doing to their kids for a decade now. probably bad that we've normalized this experience"

was thinking about young women (not that this only happens to women) stuck in long-term relationships where they keep waiting for their boyfriends to propose or decide on a life goal and they're just dragged along, hoping the best of him while their own goals are on hold. I've heard of women full-on supporting aimless boyfriends who don't work for years on end and it's a wonder they don't go full gone girl when they realise it has to end. it's always so satisfying when they break up and find a new partner who shares their vision of life together. like I'm out here actually uttering "not all men" and meaning it

I just want to talk about the nursery being painted and the purpose of the Tomb to be without a door. Anastasia had a family - and putting to the side the pact with Alecto there's some implicit symbolism to John asking for the workers of the Ninth to die constructing the Tomb with that image of new life. (Still can't articulate my disbelief that he went and didn't think that asking Anastasia of all people, The one who lost her cavalier to him, would have problems)

Yeah. Especially finding this out about the Ninth, where nurseries becoming tombs is a thing we're sensitive about.

On one level we've always known Anastasia had a family. Like, we know she's Harrow's direct ancestor. You can't be heir to the line of someone who never had children. But the nursery.... Yeah. It really hammers it in. Her friends painted a nursery mint green for her children.

And now it's a tomb.

I just realized that Dean puts the whoopee cushion under Cas's butt on the chair to prank him in episode 5x06. The little human pranks an Angel of the Lord with a fucking cushion that makes fart noises after having known him for just over a year.

It has been just a few episodes since Cas rebelled for him and he already treats him like his brother, like he is family.

yes, vampires are about the biting and the blood and the sexuality and the longing for home and community, but i love that claudia in particular is also about feeling like your life has come to a standstill and no one takes you seriously and everyone else has moved onto other life milestones, while you're trapped in some hellhole of eternal adolescence, getting older but never moving forward and never finding the place where you belong

it’s so weird being at work and doing courses on child protection and reading abt how careful and on guard we need to be to preserve the safety and health of a child and then i go online and i see children on live videos taken at this very moment going through the most horrific terror attacks known to man… , inflicted on them by adults ………… the same adults who’re taught to make sure that none of their actions should even slightly harm a child…. seeing them screaming with blood and tears streaming down their faces and missing limbs because of bombs that grown fucking adults are dropping on them when all my life i’ve learned that no matter what, no matter who, an adult should protect a child from even the smallest of harm breaks my fucking heart man …. free palestine free congo and all the other people being systematically exploited, murdered, abused, abducted .. no one deserves this torture. there is no justification for something this indescribably cruel
