Men go to far greater lengths to avoid what they fear than to obtain what they desire.

yes i have a crush for a middle aged book man who is a professor of symbology at Harvard because how can i not be? i swear to god maybe i’m just attracted to intelligence or whatever, but whenever he talks about something, i’m genuinely in love, puppy eyes too. i love this man so much. and his little awkward ass is adorable. he isn’t even awkward like that. plus, he’s so sassy. y’all don’t notice it i fear but yes, he’s a sassy queen. he isn’t it that much, but he is. and again, his smarty pretty mind makes me wanna kiss him. he’s so attractive in my eyes. especially when he gets in trouble, he is so funny and smart too. and he’s a deep core feminist? like, more feminist than women i know. and he is interested in religion symbolism? oh my god. and what about the whole da vinci code? huh? he’s my man. i don’t care. he’s so hot to me. i wish i could make love to his mind. incredible man. okay bye

You can't tell me the Da Vinci code isn't real. Everything is so detailed and specific, it fits so perfectly. My respect for Dan Brown but this has to be a true story.
By the way the movie is one of the best book to movie adaptation I have ever seen!! Respect for putting such a story onto the big screen.

new book added to my 2022 book bracket! the city we became is undoubtedly the best book i’ve read this year, if not one of the best books i’ve ever read. i’ve spent the last few years struggling to get back into reading (some of that gifted student burnout shit), but the process of writing my own book, as well as rereading books i loved as a kid, has made me fall back in love with it.
now that i have the first book i was truly *excited* about reading done, i’m hoping to get a lot more books finished this year!

Book Cover Design - The DaVinci Code
Book Cover redesign for a school project. I chose to redesign the cover of the famous Dan Brown “Robert Langdon Series”, “The DaVinci Code”, “Angels and Demons” and “Inferno”.
I chose a very modern approach to the series, approach that incorporates bold colors and popular art pieces such as Alexandre Cabanel’s “Fallen Angel”. All of the art pieces incorporated are related to the story they depict.
For the first book, “The DaVinci Code”, I have chosen to depict the pyramid and Mary Magdalene, the two key-elements of the narration.
Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop

Well the davinci code turned out to be disappointing. Kinda my fault for delaying reading it for years. 11 year old me would have eaten this shit up

Architecture and Freemasonry
Masonic Temple, 1928, left, now a hotel, and Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 1950. (booking.com)
I open this blog post with not a little trepidation, given the extraordinary level of disapprobation from historian James Stevens Curl for those who are not quite up to speed on or serious connoisseurs of Freemasonry, Masonic architecture, its symbolic representation and how the “Craft,” as Curl puts…

I’m listening to the Thud audiobook at work and I finally realized “The Koom Valley Codex” is a satire of “The DaVinci Code”.
I think I was too young the first time I read Thud to realize (my dad thought The DaVinci Code was stupid and poorly written so the book was never in our house, and thus I missed that bit of the zeitgeist in the early 00s, lol), and then it just never occurred to me on subsequent readings bc Dan Brown faded from cultural relevance so fast.
It’s not a discworld reread without noticing yet another clever little reference you’d previously missed, really.

So the big question has got to be, is there any correlation between the lack of food-chewing and the need for extra fiber in the diet?
...oh my god
