I was reading an interview with Leigh Janiak, The Fear Street writer and Ross Duffer's wife, and...

My first thought was that I really hope the Duffers to have the same mindset as this woman!

I know being married to someone doesn't necessarily mean you share the same opinions and goals, but a careful look on ST's storytelling kinda hints that the brothers probably agree 100% with Leigh and with the Fear Street's approach on queerness.

If that's the case, and they are using the same approach in their sci-fi/cosmic horror series, Byler endgame is a very real possibility! Meaningful queer characters rep and queer love rep!

Unbelievably uncoordinated (besides playing soccer and running for her life) Robin was actually great at skipping rocks. Even better at finding the best ones to skip. She knew just how to spot and hold the good stones, where to place them in her palm. How to flick her wrist, how to be fast.

She started inviting Steve to her favorite side of the lake after they’d settled they were more than workplace/survived-torture-and-monsters-together friends, late August heat plastering her bangs and painting Steve pink. He always seemed to glow in the sun, the same sparkle she knew drew everyone to him in school.

Steve was still recovering from Starcourt - they both were - and his chest would tighten up after bending down, still bruised and sore, so he would mostly drive them there and soak it all in; her chatter as she searched for the right rock, jokes about Mrs. Click and Tammy, her nightmares about the guards and the laser beam and the dripping flesh beast they’d barely escaped. He chimed in from time to time, adding how Tammy’s cousin Maryanne was a bad kisser, told her about the time Mrs. Davis wouldn’t let him into class when he was late, late because Tommy and Carol had had a fight and almost burned his house down the night before. But he mostly listened, striped shirt riding up his mole-covered belly, and smiled at her as she skipped stones hour after hour.

Arm tired, they’d get milkshakes and he’d drop her off. Waving goodbye to Steve, she always thought the same things: that she was lucky to be alive. That it felt good to ripple some surface of this godforsaken place, especially with a friend. That she really did know how to pick ‘em.

How to Get Killed Off in Stranger Things:

1) Be queer-coded but not queer (Will and Robin survive via Gay Plot Armor).

2) Be shipped with Steve Harrington.

3) Have a mullet.

4) Be an adorable woman interesting enough for her own narrative arc (Lookin’ at you Barb, Chrissy, and Heather).

i don't know how to explain it but el being mike's bestie and will being mike's boyfriend just feels SO RIGHT to me, like this works so much better and suits them so well and it would be so adorable :') i can just imagine el having a crush on a girl and the boys hyping her up and giving her advice and they would go on double dates so that she's not nervous on her own, and at the same time they would both be a little protective of el and make sure she finds someone who deserves her because she's so important to both of them. and then i feel like el would also pretend to get embarrassed when mike and will hold hands or show affection with each other but on the inside she's so happy that the two most special boys in her life are happy together too. it would just be the cutest thing ever UGH this had so much potential

Will absent-mindedly doodling Mike all over his notebook during class; Mike with the biggest, brightest heart eyes talking about the last drawing Will gave him like it was a Da Vinci; Will randomly zoning out of conversations bc he got distracted staring at Mike; Mike tripping on air while walking bc he was too busy focusing on telling Will a joke; Will always separating and saving Mike's favorite candy so he could give it to him; Mike whispering god-knows-what into Will's ear and Will trying to stifle his giggles for the next 10 minutes...
