Swindle bug is attracted to money (probably something to do with some of the chemicals/inks/metals used to make it) but he is very much drawn to large sources of money.

Whoever finds swindle cybug most likely found him sleeping and near nesting in the household change box surrounded in loose and rolled coins. Probably using some of the coin wrappers for a sheet and bed.

A bit of my own business/life-and-work update under the cut.

I haven't been very active here (or elsewhere, for that matter) lately due to the fatal conjunction of new job, mild case of burnout, harder-than-usual-to-manage depression and the world being on fire. (Some of these things are related.) Also, Veilguard came out.

The bad news is that dealing with all of this (and playing Veilguard) is taking pretty much all of my time, and I had to put my fandom-related projects on hold.

The good news is that my life is starting to look more or less settled again, although it's still a work in progress.

So, I might post some old shadowgast stuff soon, but my wips are on hold for the foreseeable future. I am however working on some Veilguard fic because that's what sparks joy and makes my remaining, tired brain cells go brrr; so if by any chance you're into Lucanis/Neve, don't expect much, but watch this space. (To be crystal clear, I haven't abandoned shadowgast: that ship is my home and I will never leave it forever. We are just taking a much needed break to rekindle our love for each other.)

Long time no talk.

I'm re-outlining the plot for HS-HQ and going over where I left off and where I'm going again to make sure I can maintain quality and consistency after how long I've been away. And we'll be focusing only on HS-HQ and Astarion from here on until... whenever. More on that toward the end.

HS-HQ Chapter 11 Teaser:

I'm fully committing to getting HS-HQ started again and tidying up my outline. Unfortunately, while I'm good with notes and outlines when I'm actively working on a story, if I set one aside for too long, the senile goldfish brain gets the better of me. And I'm one of those writers that goes "pshh, I don't need to write it down!"

Will I ever learn from this? Yes Maybe Probably not, I'll be honest.

Regardless, I am working on it. Hoping to have something out before the end of April. I'll have something narrowed down maybe this week or next.

Oh, Shadowheart fandom. How blessed to feel you so near. So while I haven't been active on tumblr or in the Astarion fandom, I have been active in the Shadowheart fandom. There have been two whole updates to Flickers of Loss while I've been inactive here. They'll get cross posted soon for those of you who don't have or use AO3.

Flickers of Loss is over for the foreseeable future. Not going to say forever, I do still love the story. But some things are just too close to other things that are very raw.

To those of you that followed me for Shadowheart content, however many there are of you, I'm sorry. This was never my plan or intention. And whether or not I return to the fandom, know that I value and appreciate all the support and love.

Never say never. I had at least one other big Shadowheart story I was excited to work on and maybe I'll find it in me to return to her character and her stories. But for now, let me just say thank you. To the readers, to my writer friends, to my writer acquaintances and the writers I never met, but inspired me so damn much.

I did a big thank you message to all my fellow writers in the Shadowheart fandom already at the end of FoL on AO3 so I'll just screenshot it and post it here.

All that aside, if you knew me from AO3, from the server or just feel like reaching out, my DM's, my inbox and my door are always open. Except Cylinderarts, they are stinky salad (absolutely kidding, I adore them they are wonderful and talented)

Hell, if you have my Discord username from the server, send me a friend request. I will talk to literally anyone from there. You are all very missed. I've had time to evaluate what I can and can't handle, and friends, best friends, new friends, casual friends and acquaintances are all very fine😊. I'm not opposed to discussing Shadowheart or FoL. But writing Shadowheart content is off the table for a while. She is still one of my favorite characters of all time.

I'm ashamed of having disappeared, and I hope you all can forgive me for not posting anything in almost two months. I've been trying to survive the rollercoaster my life currently is, and also been trying to get used to the pace of my teachers in terms of studying.

I want to say that I will start working again in new posts (which will be posted in the next weeks) because I missed this place a lot. How are you guys doing? How is life treating y'all? I truly hope you're taking care of yourself!

repeating myself here, but for good reason: the Silliness of the dafpork dynamic, however you determine the definition of Silliness, is really so integral to me and i think a big part of what makes them so special and personal. and i think that's a big reason why i was so afraid to post even the most innocuous stuff on main--even if they're not being clingy or cute together in a drawing, even in the comics where they're bickering like children or just being Themselves, there's this undercurrent of love beneath it that feels so comparatively intimate. they can have their moments of Unabashed Earnest, and they stand out much more and feel more special when you have them being dumb together to contrast it with... it's hard to pin down and they're hard to pin down, and that's why i love 'em, y'know? the variations on their dynamic is boundless, and so is their love, and so is their hijinks. they're not easily squeezed into an identifiable little box, and while i think that can trip some people up, i think it works to such a great strength with them. it's why i have trouble doing ask memes or drawing prompts with them (though i should try more!), because Dafpork Is Dafpork--they have minds and emotions and dispositions of their own and this blog functions to just sit back and observe what that all is, rather than force it. and that's how you get such a broad spectrum of Stuff, too; them being cute together, or being obnoxious, whether at each other or with each other, or they're not quite anything at all because the only one who knows what they are is each other. there's just truly so much and i really don't think it can be condensed into a bite sized trope or sweeping label.. and considering Daffy's anarchy and Porky's stubbornness, that feels very fitting. maybe it's a reason as to why it's difficult for some people to get on board with them, but i feel like it's such a great strength, and it's a great motivator to spread their gospel all the more, too! to try and get people to understand! so thank you for reading this, because if you're here then it shows you're curious and want to uncover more about them. me too!
