current skincare routine (am+pm) 🩷
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
my current skincare routine(s) consist of a few products that i won’t repurchase, not because they break me out (or anything of that sorts) but bc i realised, that my skin created some sort of tolerance towards them. i will mention the products that are on my wish list in my next post! ♡
my (face) skin type + concerns:
oily/combination (depending on the season)
hormonal acne
textured skin
hyperpigmentation / dark spots / acne scars
i do, what some might call “skin cycling”, so my skincare routine looks different every other day! it might seem like a lot but the base products stay pretty much the same.
my current products ♡:
cleanser:
Inky List Oat Cleansing Balm ❌
CeraVe Foaming Cleanser ❌
Panoxyl Benzolperoxide*
toner:
Simple Soothing Facial Toner ❌
Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner
serums/treatments:
Boots Azelaic Acid 15% ❌
Paula’s Choice BHA/AHA Toner ❌
The Inkey List Tranexamic Acid ❌
retinoid:
Tretinoin Cream 0.025%
moisturiser:
Cerave Moisturising Lotion ❌
spf:
Eucerin Sun Gel-Cream Oil Control Sun Cream SPF50
*only used when i have active breakouts but not on the nights when i use tretinoin x
all products marked with ❌, i will not be repurchasing, more info at the end!
my current routine ♡:
Monday AM: CTMSPF** + Hyaluronic Toner
Monday PM: CTM*** + BHA/AHA Toner
Tuesday AM: CTMSPF + Azelaic Acid 15%
Tuesday PM: CTM + Tretinoin 0.025%
Wednesday AM: CTMSPF + Tranexamic Acid
Wednesday PM: CTM + Tretinoin 0.025%
Thursday AM: CTMSPF + Hyaluronic Toner
Thursday PM: CTM + Azelaic Acid 15%
Friday AM: CTMSPF + Tranexamic Acid
Friday PM: CTM + Tretinoin 0.025%
Saturday AM: CTMSPF + Hyaluronic Toner
Saturday PM: CTM + Tranexamic Acid
Sunday AM: CTMSPF + Azelaic Acid 15%
Sunday PM: CTM + Tretinoin 0.025%
**CTMSPF = cleanser, toner, moisturiser & spf
***CTM = cleanser, toner & moisturiser
ps. on the days where i only use the hyaluronic toner (w/ hands), i won’t use the simple toner (w/ cotton pad). and just to be clear, i’m using my serum/treatments before any moisturiser or spf! and i double cleanse every night ♡
per my last lil life update, i mention that i’m back home in germany after completing my studies in the uk and i realised that i actually don’t need to order most of my skincare (+ body care) stuff from the uk, since germany (rossmann, budni, dm & certain pharmacies) have improved their range and released a lot of products that are similar (or the same) to the ones i could easily find in boots or superdrug! which i’m excited and happy about bc i always prefer to get the majority of my hygiene stuff from local drug stores rather than buying them online; especially with products that run out rather quickly (e.g. spf, cleanser, etc). so watch out for my next post, on the products that are on my wish list! ♡
best wishes & until next time,
mars the prinzess ❤︎

Trying to focus my skin care on acne and dark spots and to be more consistent with my skincare routine. The Inkey List’s Tranexamic Acid Night Treatment works well and I’ve been loving the Timeless Vitamin C Ferulic Acid Vitamin E Serum. I’m hoping I can clear the dark spots and acne in 3-4 months. Honestly I have not been consistent and have been really depressed. I am confident that the routine I have alongside changing my diet will work. The acne is just out of control though and I am still picking. :(
Ugh this is me starting over. Again.
Has anyone ever managed to stop picking their skin? What helped you?

First Understanding My Skin
Skin for me has always been a blessing and a curse. The best skin I have ever had was in high school, I have had my troubles with acne like a regular 16-year-old but other than that I have had really clear skin. At the age of 24 I have had more complications with my skin than ever.
I guess being a teenager aided in my skin since I was only, but it was not something that was out of control. Using a simple face wash would help all my problems go away but not anymore. I can not even pop a pimple on my face now without the fear of it causing a scar. My skin moved over to being less oily and more prone to dryness which in my turn caused more scarring. Right now, I want to get my skin back to the normal phase it was in but with a lot more care and products.
How Will I Treat It?
Within the next six months I am going to treat my skin with the same products to see if these hyped-up items from TikTok and Instagram can really make a difference in the dryness and hyperpigmentation I have. I will be using an array of different products from different brands to see they are really living up to their names and what they claim to achieve. These are the names of the brands I will be using in this experiment, and I will talk about how I will use them.
Faded Topicals
The Ordinary
Good Molecules
The Body Shop
The Inkey List
Tatcha
Supergoop
Murad
What Will Be My Skincare Routine?
These are my five steps to the routine I will follow every day.
I will first start off my routine by using a cleanser. I will be cleaning my face with The Body Shop’s tea tree facial wash. It claims to be a purifying facial wash that will help me with my blemished skin and get rid of the grim and buildup on my face.
After this I will go in with The Ordinary’s toner to help me exfoliate my skin and improve the texture of my skin. It claims that the Tasmanian Pepperberry, ginseng root, and aloe would give me the radiance that I want while soothing the dryness of my skin. The main ingredient in this would be the glycolic acid which will also aid in reducing irritation on the skin.
The third step to this will be my serums. I will start off with the lightest to the heaviest serums. Starting off I will apply the discoloration correcting serum by Good Molecules. They claim to help me improve the unevenness of my skin tone. With the star ingredients being tranexamic acid and niacinamide, they state that this will help with even old age spots, acne scare and hyperpigmentation. Next, I will apply my alpha arbutin serum by The Inkey List, to help me also get rid of the dark spots while giving me the moisture I need back into my skin. The main ingredients are the alpha arbutin and squalene. The last product I am going to apply will be the Faded Topicals, brightening and clearing serum. This claims to also aid in my destruction of the stubborn dark marks on my face. They claim to brighten and revive my tired skin while also helping me balance my skin tone.
After letting these products dry into my skin, I will move on to the moisturizing cream side of this routine. I will go in with the Murad’s hydro-dynamic ultimate moisture eye cream. They claim to help quench my eye area so that way when I turn 75, I have the eyes of a 24-year-old still. Their main ingredients include hyaluronic acid and algae to seal in the moisture and help me stay smooth. The last moisturizer I will use will be the Tatcha dewy skin cream. They state that this will help to replenish and plump my skin for a healthy glow. Their main ingredient in this cream is Japanese purple rice which they state is ideal for dry skin types.
The last and final step of this routine will be to apply sunscreen. I will only this product in the daytime as I don’t want to have clogged pores in the morning and have my whole skincare routine go down the drain. I will use Supergoop as they are a very good brand for darker skin tones, and they claim to be a scentless sunscreen that is a total game changer with it having 40 spf. Their main ingredients are going to be Frankincense and Meadowfoam which will help with a soothing effect and hydration and even skin texture.
All throughout this journey to the perfect skin I will take note of my pros and cons and what I would and would not do again. Hopefully this will lead me into a holy grail of a routine and not a total madness.

Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum
Tumblr media
Brand: Good Molecules
Product Type: Serum
Price: 12.00 / 25.00 USD
Size: 1 fl. oz. / 2.5 fl. oz.
✔️Vegan  ✔️Clean Ingredients  ✔️Cruelty Free  ✔️Sustainable Packaging
Star Ingredients:
2% TeraCeutic TXVector (Cetyl Tranexamate Mesylate): Advanced form of tranexamic acid. Treats hyperpigmentation. Fades dark spots, acne scars, melasma, sun damage.
4% Niacinamide: Improves uneven tone and texture, dullness, and enlarged pores.
Texture: Watery
Feel: Tingly
This product may tingle a bit immediately after application. Wait until dry before applying oils, moisturizers, or makeup.
Scent: 🌸🌸
Pretty strong medicinal smell.
Results: I didn’t find that this had significant visible results for me. Other people have reported differently though, so it’s possible I just didn’t use it long enough to see any change.
Comps: The INKEY List has a couple good comps in the same price range. Take a look at the Tranexamic Acid Serum, which gets an additional boost from Acai and Vitamin C; or the Mandelic Acid Treatment.
Sephora Collection Targeted Dark Spots Serum with Enzymes gets away from acids, turning to kombucha instead to utilize its brightening properties.
Beauty of Joseon Revive/Repair Serum with Ginseng and Snail Mucin also uses powerhouse ingredients that aren’t acids to correct tone and pigmentation, and help promote healing.

*chin hands* what else did you stock up on? (I throughly enjoy reading all of your skincare posts, even if it's for stuff I don't use lol)
SO. Basically I only get a fewish things at Sephora since most of my skincare is Korean or Japanese and almost always can be got significantly cheaper elsewhere (case in point, the INNISFREE soybean energy essence is like $45 at Sephora, and can be bought for $25 and free shipping from reputable dealers on ebay.)
But I did get
1x Ordinary Buffet
2x Ordinary Niacinamide 10%+ Zinc
Benefit Boing Concealer in #1 and #2 because different parts of my face are different shades and I’m actually mostly between the two
Urban decay all-nighter pollution protector setting spray--I should have gotten 2
Inkey List Tranexamic acid Hyperpigmentation Treatment--I have tranex acid serum I like, but I’ve heard good things about this night treatment and it’s a bit cheaper so I thought I’d give it a try. Have I mentioned my skin shows *everything*? But while it takes some time, tranex has been good at breaking up post-inflammation hyperpigmentation for me.
Things I forgot but am probably going to grab
Sephora collection gel liners in The Red and Cherry Red. Possibly one in a dusty rose to go with my Gusu lipstick.
Biossance Vic C and Rose Squalene
and maaaaaybe Glow Recipe’s Watermelon mist. I love it DEEPLY but a negative of no preservatives is that it can turn a bit.I’ve not noticed any ill effects other than the color shift and a slight scent change but >_> But in the summer, I live by it and I suspect my stuck in the house Tretinoin wearing self may want it a lot.
and I may pick up an other jumbo bottle of Buffet because I go through it and I live by peptides. So. Many. Peptides.

DO YOU HAVE OILY SKIN? THIS $16 *CLEAN* NIACINAMIDE SERUM IS FOR YOU!👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 _______________________________________________ If you haven’t tried Naturium yet, rest assured I’m just beginning to explore the brand myself. While the name implies that the brand’s products are all natural, they are not. . So what is the brand all about? . Naturium is a clean, affordable brand with the kind of “single-note” serums that have been popularized by brands like The Ordinary and The Inkey List. . To kick off my Naturium journey, I thought I would try 3 of the brand’s most popular serums — the ones we see splashed all over our IG feeds. So I copped the Naturium Quadruple Hyaluronic Acid Serum 5%, Tranexamic Topical Acid 5% and the Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%. (You know I had to get my hands on Naturium’s Niacinamide serum!!) . With a 12% concentration of my favorite antioxidant, the Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% has a silky, ever-so-slightly sticky texture reminiscent of Glossier’s Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum. It makes sense since the 2 pair Niacinamide and Zinc, though Naturium’s is the better formula. . Both are solid Niacinamide serums and especially if your skin is oily or acne prone. What makes them ideal for oily, acne prone skin is the same thing that makes The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% well suited for oilier skins. It’s the zinc! . Explore what I love about it and all my SS21 Niacinamide picks on this week’s new Skincarma Blog at skincarma.com! _______________________________________________ SHOP THE BLOG: Want to give your skin a natural reboot? (unpaid advertisement bc brand linked) I might have gotten a little carried away by their newer releases - here is what I picked up from The Inkey List last month! Sadly a few other items like the Sea Kelp Serum and the Tranexamic Acid Treatment aren’t available here yet, does anyone know when we can expect to see them in Europe? If you swipe left, you will see everything unboxed. Everything else I purchased is up on the blog and on my YouTube channel! Have you tried any of these? . . .
