What It Would Be Like To Date....
Tumblr media
Summary: General headcanons of what it would be like to date Jesse.
Pairing: Jesse x GN!Reader
Requested: Yes
Warnings: spoilers, friends to lovers, mentions of blood and violence, one nsfw line, mention of parental loss
Notes: i love that my first request is for jesse, i adore him and cried when they killed his character. that being said, i haven't done one of these before, so feedback is grateful and requests are open
like ellie, you're pretty skilled with a bow - you were just as good with a riffle as anyone else, but you're more comfortable with a bow - this led to maria giving you a job as a patrolman after you and your younger brother, theo, arrived in jackson two years prior to the events of part ii. you were partnered up with jesse for your first few patrols, him being impressed by how quickly you learnt the ins and outs of the different routes, but you weren't partnered up with him again for a few more months after that.
not until he and dina had decided to call it quits. again.
you had enjoyed doing the routes with ellie, a couple with dina and few others with tommy and joel, but you much preferred to do them with jesse. you weren't much of a people person but for him, you were willing to make an exception; you just didn't know why. not yet, at least.
over the many months, you gradually opened up to jesse about the group you and your younger brother were living with before you both arrived in jackson. you told him about the group being attacked by a herd of infected and about how you didn't know if there was any other survivors. he listened to every word you had to say and never once interrupted you.
the simple act made you feel seen for the first time in a very long time.
as time moved along, you became someone who jesse could vent to each time he and dina took a break. by now, you had become aware of your feelings for jesse but you ignored the urge to ever act on them because you knew him and dina would always get back together.
until they didn't.
jesse was the first to admit his feelings, blurting it out after you both had a run in with a bunch of clickers. "that was god damn sexy," he had admitted to you, after you had saved him. firing an arrow straight through a clicker's head. he wiped the sweat from his brow, a look in his eyes you couldn't necessarily read but knew there was more he wanted to say. "i have never been more turned on right now-" his hand covered his mouth, when he had realised what he had said. "i didn't mean it like that," he rushed to correct himself, "i just meant...what i meant was...i-" you cut him off with a kiss.
your first kiss was rushed and messy and probably could've been executed a lot better, but you had been dying to kiss jesse for months now and you had to act before you lost the adrenaline and courage pumping through your veins.
you didn't talk about the kiss until you got back to jackson, both you deciding to take it slow. jesse had just ended things with dina for good and neither wanted the folks of jackson talking about the ins and outs of your private lives.
theo was the happiest about your blossoming relationship with jesse. he was already looking up to him like jesse was his own brother, begging him to teach him how to fire a gun or to ride a horse, but jesse would give him the same answer, "we'll have to see what your sister says about it." your younger brother liked him a lot and it made you happy to see him smiling again.
a part of you was scared for dina's reaction, she had become somewhat of a friend to you and since jesse was her ex-boyfriend, you knew it might disrupt whatever level of friendship it was that you had with her. surprisingly though, she was happy about it. she had suspected that jesse might have harboured some feelings for you and she was just relieved to see he was no longer hiding them.
dina had even confided in you about her new feelings for ellie, often asking you if she should just go for it.
jesse's parents were fond of you but it took some time for them to warm up to the idea of you being in a relationship with jesse. they may have liked dina, but their relationship was rocky, and they just didn't want to see their son be heartbroken over another person.
jesse learned early on, way before you were dating, that you were a story teller; you had no space to carry books, they took up too much space - space that would be needed for real supplies when out on the road - so you took to making up stories on the spot. after that, jesse was always on the look out for books, no matter how big or small. if he saw a book, he was scooping it into his bag and bringing it back with him. you insisted he didn't need to but he continued to do so.
you love his voice, it wasn't uncommon for you to spend the evening just listening to him to talking. it didn't matter what he was talking about, it could be about his day or some silly anecdote, you were just satisfied to hear him talking. and, of course, jesse knew just how much you liked his voice, often using it to his own advantage.
wearing his clothes is a given, especially when you weren't on patrol together. a hoody, a shirt, even one of his jackets, just anything to have a little bit of him close to you.
jesse carried a sized down, blunt arrow head, tucked away into his backpack.
the start of your relationship was perfect. a little too perfect.
you had been out on patrol with tommy and joel when they came across abby, unsuspecting of the horror that was to come. unlike tommy, you hadn't been knocked unconscious and was forced to witness abby's brutal torture and killing of joel, but you wished you had. the whole ordeal had left you with scars, both permanent - one of them had slashed your arm and your left cheek with their pocket knife - and psychologically.
you hated yourself for weeks, avoiding everyone - especially ellie. jesse repeatedly told you that none of it was your fault, but guilt still remained and would remain until joel's death had been avenged.
jesse was their to protect you from the nightmares, holding you until you had stopped shaking and crying. you were so strong around everyone else, making them believe that you were fine, but jesse got to see your vulnerable side.
he also tried to keep your confidence up whenever he saw you looking at your facial scar in the mirror. he'd tell you it made you look even more badass, like you were some superhero. you were grateful for it, especially when you were beginning to notice the people in jackson averting their eyes when you walked by.
of course, you snuck out of jackson with jesse, leaving your brother in care of jesse's parents. in seattle you found the sized down arrow head in jesse's backpack, your thumb smoothing over the blunt edges as you smiled for the first time since joel's death. when you asked him about it, he told you that he kept it close to him because it reminded him of you.
he also admitted to making it himself, you laughing when recalled nearly cutting off his hands. you knew he was just being dramatic about it to make you laugh.
you were actually one of the first to recognise dina's symptoms. you remembered bits and pieces from when your own mother was pregnant, but you mostly remember there being a woman in your old group that had been pregnant and had given birth during your time together.
your calmness to the whole situation had both surprised and comforted jesse. dina too.
for the sake of my own feelings we're going to pretend that abby didn't brutally and shockingly murder jesse and he just got a flesh wound or something equivalent to that
after the events of seattle and jesse finding out that dina was pregnant, he thought you would leave him, but you'd been taking care of theo since your parents were infected, so jesse having a baby with his ex-girlfriend was no worry at all for you.
in fact, jj was the cutest baby you had seen and you adored to see jesse and jj together. fatherhood had come naturally to him.
you and jesse did less frequent patrols after seattle and lived your lives as close as possible to dina and ellie as you could.
jesse has finally taught your brother to ride a horse and you have taught both of them how to use a bow, it was a lot quieter when it came to hunting animals such as a deer.
when dina and jj leave the farm, after ellie goes looking for abby again, you, jesse and your younger brother take the two of them in, no questions asked.
i feel like i went a little overboard with this but i hope it is what you wanted. again, i have never done these headcanon type things before

------------------------------------------------------------
it's fine, it's cool.
ellie's grip on her glass got impossibly tighter as her eyes never left your figure, your body swaying to whatever shitty mainstream pop music that was playing.
ellie williams hated secrets. she hated surprises, and she hated being in love with you.
she hated the way you would ghost her after spending a week at her apartment. she hated the way you would stop responding to her texts after you would leave. she hated the way she would let you back in when you needed her, she hated how much she loved to comfort you. she hated how gentle you were when it was just the two of you, compared to how cruel you got in public.
you can say that we ain't nothin' when you know the truth.
ellie took her hand off the glass and gripped the bar table instead, afraid that if she broke another glass she'd be banned from the bar.
you were like forbidden fruit to her, or maybe that was what she was to you.
she knew you weren't ready to come out of the closet. she understood that. so, why keep on playing this fucking game with her?
why did she even still feed into it?
i guess i'm, the fool.
the closet was made out of glass, really. you would stare at every woman's body that passed you, your eyes would scan up their short dress, she could see the curiosity and desire in your face.
but every single time after you two would hook up, there was always a new excuse.
"i'm not a fucking lesbian, ellie. i just... don't like men sometimes." sometimes?
"they're just stupid thoughts... it's not like i could ever be with a woman." but you had been. you had been with her.
"ok but... do you even count as a woman? you wear boxers, you don't even know the meaning of the term ladylike and... i don't know- look at your fuckin' hair! the closest you'd get is a transwoman." that one had hurt her. she didn't talk to you for a month after you made that comment. and then you appeared in her apartment complex hallway, sobbing hysterically.
and of course, she took you back.
like she always does.
with her arms out like an angel, through the car sun-roof.
she hated playing this fucking game with you. it was killing her.
every single time she'd see you at this bar, she imagined you dragging her onto the dancefloor. she imagined being able to walk out with your hand in her's, waking up to your groggy groans when the sun invaded the sacred space of your shared bedroom, you'd hide your face in her neck, mumbling something about, "shouldn't have drank that much last night."
every single time you pulled this shit on her, it felt like her already shattered heart broke off into impossibly tinier pieces.
"i wish you were a boy." crack.
"it's not easy for me like it is for you, els. i don't know the first thing about being proud of myself." crack.
"this hurts me more than you, baby." shattered. her heart was shattered.
it hurts you more than her?
the fucking audacity.
the nights she spent crying next to your sleeping figure.
the hours she'd spent texting you and checking her phone second after second after goddamn second.
the way she would ignore every single obligation she had to pick you up from whatever shit-hole situation you had found yourself in, immediately and happily dropping anything to make sure you were ok.
and it hurt you more than it hurt her?
you didn't know shit about hurt. about misery. about love.
i don't wanna cut it off!
her friends had told her to cut you off. her therapist said in his own professional shrink way that you would never be good for her. at least not while you weren't even good for yourself.
but she couldn't let you go. it seemed like every reason that she had to leave you, fuelled her determination to stay.
but you don't wanna call it love!
every single time you somehow broke her heart in a new way, she fell harder in love with you.
you just wanna love someone that calls you baby!-
ellie was pulled out of her internal anger when your eyes met hers. although it was only a few seconds ago, it felt like she was staring into your eyes for an eternity.
don't fuckin' wave, ellie. look away- LOOK AWAY. , she thought to herself as she was unable to look away from your beautiful irises.
you had this slight smile on your face, the dancefloor's led lights adding a shimmer to your already twinkling eyes.
it felt like her melancholy thoughts had lifted and increased all at the same time by the sight of you acknowledging her presence.
ellie went against her better judgement, her slender hand flying up to wave at you. her lips quirked upwards gently as she scanned your delighted face.
your light expression quickly turned into one of frustration, suppressing your grin with a tightening of your lips before pulling the nearest man close to you in for an unexpected kiss, opening your eyes once you knew the mystery man's were closed, locking your eyes onto ellie's before closing them once more.
the light had died in ellie's stomach after that. her happy hand that was raised in the air faltered painfully back to her side as she watched the man's hands roam down from your sides... to your waist... to your ass.
you can kiss a hundred boys in bars,
those butterflies that she had just felt in her tummy had died slowly, turning into knots of anguish.
she watched your hands cradle the man's face. those same hands that had counted each and every freckle on her face on a snowy morning that had you both stranded in her apartment.
those same hands that had a death-grip on her back as you sobbed into her shoulder every other weeknight as she tried to muffle her own cries.
those same hands that had shoved her violently as she finally tried to stand her ground one afternoon you showed up knocking on her door. "you know what... fuck you, ellie! i don't know why i keep on doing this shit with you anyways." you said, before storming off. you called her later that night. she answered. "i'm sorry, els. i'm sorry, i'll do better, i'm so sorry-" , "it's ok, baby. it's ok. i know you didn't mean it. you're ok baby, i forgive you."
shoot another shot, try to stop the feeling!
she would've stayed in that seat, stewed in her anger for a bit more before the tears inevitably came falling down if it wasn't for the way the dude's hands creeped under your skin-tight jeans and how you flinched away from his grasp, breaking the kiss immediately with a nervous giggle creeping up.
the guy obviously took it as an invitation to do more, placing his hand back on your waist and agressively pulling you closer.
you can say it's just the way you are,
ellie's head tilted as she watched this go down.
what she wanted to do was launch that creep into the nearest wall and make sure he never tainted your body again. but she didn't want to get up too soon, she wanted to be certain that you needed help, whether you wanted it or not.
your hand stopped him from coming any closer, placing it right before his chest. you said something along the lines of, "don't want to do anything." .
make a new excuse, another stupid reason-
instead of him being a decent human being and leaving you alone, his face quickly turned into one of anger. his jaw jutted out as he tried to pull you in again, leaving you thrashing against his body.
how was no one else seeing this? why was no one else doing anything?!
she didn't even have time to process what she was about to do. her feet were on the ground, marching their way towards you before she could even think about her course of action in a smart way.
"let me go, fuckin' creep!" she heard you shriek as she grew closer to you, attempting to elbow him in the chest.
ellie felt like no matter how fast she was walking, she would never make it to you in time.
he laughed tauntingly as he grinded against. "i'm the creep, bitch?! you kissed me f-"
his last word was stolen from him as ellie forcefully pushed him off you with and landed a blow against his nose.
he groaned in pain, falling to the ground as he cradled his now-broken-nose.
you gasped in shock and horror. "what the fuck, ellie?!" you scolded her. as if you would've been fine on your own.
she ignored your words though, pulling the guy's hand away as she forced another punch to his face.
now people were finally looking.
she didn't stop until she felt your hands on her stomach, pulling her away from the scene.
"she fuckin'... said... no!..." ellie's voice thundered, erratic breaths in between her words before bringing one last painful kick to his face before letting you lead her out of the bar and into the night air.
you didn't stop even after you two were at the entrance door of the establishment, you made sure the two of you were far enough away that ellie wouldn't be caught if the police were called.
she couldn't help but feel those stupid fucking butterflies again as your hand gripped hers and felt a little disappointed when you dropped it, suddenly all too aware that you were still in public.
her green eyes met your own, yours filled with anger and chaos... hers filled with love.
"hey baby." the auburnette sighed out simply, that stupid love-grin back on her face as she was finally close to you.
your eyebrows furrowed in disbelief as your hands went to massage your temples. you let out a humorless giggle. "you're so... fucking stupid, ellie!" you exclaimed, shoving her chest as if she was in the wrong.
her grin turned into a confused frown as she surrendered her hands in the air, her eyebrows mirroring your own now. "wh-wh....what-"
good luck, babe!
"god, you have this severe goddamn saviour complex or some shit!... i was fine! i was fucking fine on my own before you marched in and assaulted that guy."
well good luck, babe!
you gaslighted beautifully, defending the man you knew nothing about over the woman who was fatally in love with you, she almost believed you.
ellie's frown turned into an angry smile as she brought a hand to gently wipe over the bridge of her nose, a mannerism of her's she had developed whenever she got frustrated with you.
"assau-... ok, sure-... you wanna talk about assault, baby? that fuckin' guy would've assaulted you if i didn't step in. he was assaul-"
you shut your eyes tightly the way you do when you wanted to block something out that ellie was obviously right about. you shook your head stubbornly. "gggoddd ellie- it was my fault! i wanted it and then i didn't. i shouldn't have- i shouldn't have kissed him in the first place. i gave him mixed signals, i-"
you'd have to stop the world just to stop the feeling!-
your eyebrows grew dangerously closer to your face as you cradled your head in your hands.
ellie was quick to walk right back to you, caressing your arms.
"what? baby, no. no, it's not your fault... that- that fuckin' guy... hey... look at me, sweetheart." she cooed lovingly.
good luck, babe!
you slowly brought your hands away from your face, meeting her breathtaking green eyes.
you wanted to fall into her arms, you wanted to thank her for coming to your rescue and kiss her and confess to her how scared you truly were.
but you didn't. you never did.
your slightly calm expression that came over you once you met your secret lover's gaze turned into one of annoyance. ellie was, like always, taken by surprise as you thrashed against her grip, just like the way you did with that monster in the bar.
good luck, babe!
ellie's eyes blurred with tears as she watched your face turn into a grimace.
"fuck you, ellie." you said quietly as you broke free from her hands, storming off into the night. leaving her. like always.
you'd have to stop the world just to stop the feeling.

ellie williams headcannon: protective gf :)
how ellie would be so protective of her partner <3
most def mistakes but it adds to the ambience ok !!!
tags: ellie x fem!reader , lapslock , headcannon , protectivegf!ellie , men are the # 1 evil in this (in general tbh) , ellie doesn't even let jesse breath in this , kinda long? idk
ellie was kind of infamous around jackson for being almost too protective over you.
whenever you two would be walking through the streets of the commune, she always had to be the one closest to the traffic. she would pull you a little closer to her side as you pass a group of men staring a little too long at you.
duties are technically on rotation in jackson but ellie always pulls some strings or even bribery so that you're scheduled on patrols together.
when that doesn't work out, she has an extensive (and arguably dramatic) conversation about when and where you are to meet her afterwards. "ok babe? right here, immediately. yeah?"
"yes, ellie"
god forbid your just fifteen minutes late, she'll rush to the gates, sweating (she definitely ran there), brows stitched together in worry.
she’d charge right at you, immediately noticing your slight limp and scoop you up into her arms.
“y/n what the fuck happened. jesse! what the fuck did you do??”
nothing is ever your fault in her eyes.
“els ‘m fine i just slipped on a rock by the creek…” you’d mumble, sheepish because you were maybe or maybe not trying to pick a wildflower that had caught your eye.
“what did i do!?” jesse would screech, in complete disbelief.
ellie would insist that she carry you all the way back to your shared room, ignoring your embarrassed pleas to let you down. “ellie, babe, i’m fine. i can walk. el!” it completely falls on deaf ears.
also! ellie refuses to let you sleep in any vulnerable positions. she always sleeps with her back to the door, shielding you from view if any intruders were to break in. you try and remind ellie there hasnt been any sort of crime like that in jackson since you've arrived but ellie never takes any chances when it comes to you.
she always wears extra layers when you're on patrol together so that if you ever get chilly, she can throw her jacket over your shoulders, wordlessly. you look up at her with grateful eyes and a soft smile, planting a kiss on her cheek.
"hey ellie! i'm cold too" jesse pouts. "boo hoo you're a grown ass man, deal with it" she would answer.
the community often holds little parties and get togethers in an old bar near the center of jackson. maria says it helps bring some humanity and warmth to the cold and harsh reality of the world they all live in now. you love attending said parties, being quite the social butterfly, eager to let loose. you often have to drag ellie to these things as she would much rather stay at home and cuddle but the truth is, ellie would never let you attend such things without her by your side.
once you both arrive, you instantly find dina and jesse, making your way over. ellie decided to stop at the counter and grab some drinks. she keeps an eye on you, leaning back on the countertop with one elbow, smiling softly from seeing you laugh at something dina said.
her smile drops in an instant when she notices a man tap you on the shoulder, leaning in a little too close than ellie would prefer. he whispers something in your ear and ellie watches you shake your head, politely declining the offer, but the idiot cant seem to take a hint.
the second ellie notices your demeanor change from bubbly to slightly uncomfortable, she's stalking over, drinks abandoned, shoving herself between you and the creep. "back off, dude" her tone flat, her glare mean, leaving no room for debate.
the second the creep slinks away, she's instantly on you, asking if your okay, taking your face in both her palms. you nuzzle into them and give her a small smile. "my knight in shining armor" you blink dramatically, teasing her. "whatever, dork. c'mon lets get some water in you"
anyways, you are the most important thing to ellie and your safety come before her own life. it's how she shows she cares, words often too difficult for her to express. you know this, even though it can be a bit much, which is why you always eventually let her have her way.

the chick from apartment 512 - ellie williams (3)
au
femreader! x elliewilliams!
part two, here
wc: 2k+
content warning: explicit language, mentions of abuse
// initial summary: although your new neighborhood was a bit shady and the apartment elevator made an eerie sound whenever it'd start up, it was all you could afford. move in day proved to be better than expected when you caught sight of your new neighbor. her auburn hair and green eyes seemed to be all the proof that you needed, to know that this new chapter of your life would be worth paying attention to and not just skimming over. //
// author's note: it's a close tie for the dina and jesse content!! i have compromised and minimized the scene with my two lovebirds. i love all of you and hope you guys enjoy and have an amazing day/night <33 //
━═━═━═━═━═━═━═━═━━═━═━═━
"all i'm saying is that yellow does not look good with green." dina sighed as she placed a jar of kimchi in the grocery kart. "maybe if she'd spend less time kissing derek's ass and more time planning out her outfits, she'd wouldn't give everyone in the office a migraine first thing in the morning."
jesse listened attentively to dina's rant as he pushed the cart. you followed closely beside them, lost in your own thoughts. ellie was coming over today. the girl from across the hall, the one with auburn hair, green eyes, and a slit near the corner of her eyebrow. the girl you barely knew but hoped to befriend. "earth to (y/n)." dina waved a hand in front of your face.
you snapped back to reality. "oh, hm?"
"were you even listening to me?"
"yeah, yeah." you said as you tried recalling what she said. "you're jealous that kaitlyn got promoted and you didn't, i got it."
jesse laughed as dina smacked your arm. "no, i am not! her outfits are actually horrendous. it just so also happens to be fact that derek chose her over me to run the world events section of our magazine."
"right, total coincidence." you nudged her playfully as you walked past her to grab two things of ben and jerry's.
jesse watched as you placed the items in the cart and then looked back at dina. he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, making his wife grin. "aw, you're so thoughtful... for me?"
you scoffed as you already told her and jesse about your plans with ellie later. "shut up."
"no, it's cute.” dina said. “ben and jerry's isn't cheap. it’s like seven dollars a pint. this girl must be really special.”
“i already told you, we’re only hanging out as friends.” you reminded dina.
“hey, i never said otherwise.” she shot her hands up defensively. “but now that we’re on the subject of dating, do you have your eyes set on anyone at the moment?”
you placed a box of generic pepperoni pizza in the cart, not needing much time to think about the question. “no, not really.”
“what about joy?” dina referred to a coworker you briefly went out with.
“two bottoms don’t make a top, d.” jesse muttered as he scratched the back of his neck.
“fuck you.” you laughed. “i’m a switch. don’t disrespect me like that again.”
jesse and dina laughed. “but come on, joy?”
“what? i liked joy. she was sweet.” the trio pulled into one of the self-checkout registers.
“no, no, she was okay.” jesse shrugged as he began ringing up their items. “stacy on the other hand,” jesse turned his neck to face you. “now she was a keeper.”
“uh, no, she was a total bitch.” dina cursed. “she legit told me to 'tone it down' that one time we took (y/n) to the bar for her birthday. i mean, sorry for my overly excited behavior but i was drunk and grateful that my best friend had made it another year."
“dina, you literally pushed her off of (y/n) when it was time to blow out the candles.” jesse reminded the lightweight girl.
dina shrugged it off as she crossed her arms. “well, since they ended up not working out, we don’t have to worry about cropping stacy out of (y/n)’s birthday pictures now, do we?”
a small chuckle left your lips. "you guys are hilarious."
✩───────────✩──────────✩
as soon as ellie found a parking spot, she quickly got out of her car and raced inside the apartment building. one hand clutched a bouquet of flowers as the other looked for the time on her phone.
5:47 p.m.
"fuck, fuck, fuck." ellie cursed. she wanted so desperately to change out of her drenched clothes and take a shower before seeing you, but she was already late. late over something so stupid. her phone began to ring, it was her sister. ellie hesitated before answering it as she got on the elevator.
"what, sarah?" her voice was harsh and held a bit of bitterness.
"i'm sorry about what happened." she cried. "it's my fault, i shouldn't have said what i said. god, i'm so stupid."
ellie felt her bottom lip throb at the pain that radiated from the cut that sat there. "how many times do i have to tell you, sarah, it's not your fault. i honestly don't want to talk about this right now, i got shit to do but i'll call you in the morning. okay?"
"ellie, i'm sorry." sarah apologized again.
a moment of silence lingered between the two sisters before the elevator came to a stop. ellie held back the emotions that begged to come out as she tightened her grip around the phone. "i'll call you tomorrow."
after hanging up, she nervously walked up to your front door. her fist floated in the air as she contemplated weather it'd still be a good idea to come over. rain paddled harshly against the bay window, helping her soothe the nerves and adrenaline coursing through her veins. better late than never, right?
you slightly flinched at the sound of rough knocking coming from your front door. your heart jumped at the idea of ellie finally arriving. for a long while there you began to think she had stood you up. your feet found themselves rushing towards the door. "hey, (y/n), it's ellie. i know i'm a little late, i'm sorry."
you opened the door, a blank look on your face. "a little? try almost an hour."
ellie smiled at the fact that you still decided to open the door. to her, you seemed like the kind of girl with high standards. one slip up and you were put in the doghouse. "i know and again i'm sorry, it's just i was at my sister's house for my niece's birthday an-"
ellie tried explaining herself, making sure to spare the actual important details. you tried paying attention to what she was saying but your eyes immediately latched on to the pink bruise below one of her eyes and then to the cut on her bottom lip. you instinctively stepped forward and grabbed her face. "what the hell happened to you?"
ellie was taken aback by the sudden gesture. your hands were as gentle and nurturing as the look in your eyes and the tone in your voice. she wanted to pull away but couldn't find it in herself to actually move. "i- um- i-"
if you weren't so concerned over the damage to ellie's face, you would've teased her for the stuttering. your hand reached for her wrist as you pulled her in. once you had locked the front door, you dragged ellie to your bathroom. "wait here." you told her.
ellie sat the flowers on your sink as she looked around. her attention was caught by a drawing hung up on the outer part of the door. it looked like a little kid did it, their name was even signed at the bottom. ellie knew you didn't have kids, she surely would've seen one by now. maybe you had nieces and nephews too?
you returned to the bathroom a few moments later, with your first aid kit. "oh, that's not necessary." ellie tried assuring you.
"who's the nurse here?" you sarcastically responded before setting the kit down on the sink... next to the flowers. a faint smile maneuvered its way onto your lips as you reached for it. "are these for me?"
ellie sighed, looking disappointedly at the ragged bouquet of flowers. "they looked better when i first bought them," her eyes then looked into yours. "i swear, it's just the stupid rain ruined them."
"no, it's fine. it's the gesture that counts." you played with one of the lose pedals. "though i got to say, it's not a very appropriate gift to get a friend."
ellie chuckled as you took out a packet of disinfected wipes, a tube of rubbing cream and a small bandage from the kit. "their just flowers, not a ring." you moved to stand right in front of her.
"well, what if i wanted a ring instead?" you joked as you grabbed her chin.
"then, i'd scream and run the other direction." she half-heartedly joked back.
you let out a small laugh as you dried ellie's face with a paper towel. "not the commitment type, huh?"
"not at all..." ellie answered truthfully. your hand dropped her face for only a second as you ripped open a packet to one of the disinfected wipes.
"that explains a lot." you went back to holding her face. she slightly winced as you carefully brushed the wipe on her cut.
"what do you mean?" she mumbled against your touch.
"well, i'm not home much but when i am..." you discarded the old wipe and opened the rubbing cream. "i hear just the weirdest and most heartbreaking things come from the hallway when i'm anywhere near my door."
"weird and heartbreaking?" ellie repeated. "like what?"
"hmm, let's see." you rubbed some of the cream on her bruised cheekbone. the closeness was enough to get ellie riled up, not even you could deny how succulent and full her lips looked under your fluorescent lights. "ellie, open your door. ellie, why are you ignoring my calls and text? ellie, are you seeing other people? ellie, promise me i'm the only girl you're seeing right now or we're over!"
you mimicked the voices of all the girls who found themselves crawling back to the chick from apartment 512. ellie laughed, a blush creeping up on her cheeks. "i like the way you say my name. you should say it more often.”
you scoffed as you reached for the bandage and opened it, a smile still rested well and evident on your mouth. you kept quiet as you placed the bandage on the part of the cut the surpassed her lips. you took a second to analyze ellie's face, taking in the dark beauty that stood before you. "all better."
ellie balled up her fist when you stepped back. the urge to pull you in was hardly bearable. she thought back to all the girls she slept with before and imagined you taking their place. was it so wrong that you two met just the other day and she was already thinking about making you scream her name for everyone on your floor to hear?
"do you want some ice cream?" you came back after putting your kit away.
"huh?" the girl stood straight up.
"ice cream? i have ben and jerry's." you repeated.
ellie chuckled at the fact that she was thinking about all the dirty ways she could mark up your body and then here you were, asking her if she wanted ice cream after fixing up her boo boo’s. you drew in your eyebrows as your smile fell, not knowing what was so funny. "what? do you not like ice cream?"
ellie scrunched her nose. "what kind of a psycho doesn’t like ice cream?”
you smiled again, feeling relieved. "thank god, for a second there i thought i was gonna have to kick you out." your eyes analyzed her damped state. if it was you in her shoes, your sensory issues would've been off the walls. "but if you want, you can go home and get yourself cleaned up?"
"you sure?" ellie questioned. "i was already late, i don't want to keep wasting your time."
you waved her off. "no, it's fine. just looking at the way your jacket is clinging to your arms is making my skin crawl."
"oh, really?" ellie smirked.
you chuckled, beginning to find ellie's flirtatious comments humorous. "not like that. now go and get cleaned up. i wanna know the crazy story behind your beat-up face."
"i'd rather not traumatize you with the details." ellie replied, not really wanting to relive them either.
"okay, that's fine." you shrugged as you crossed your arms. "at least tell me who won."
the auburn-haired girl smiled smugly, remembering the mangled state she left her brother-in-law in. "well, i just hope, for his sake, that he lives across from a doctor."

„And I thought I was weird for feeling uncomfortable at that, you know? They broke up, it's not really his place to say anything like that especially after telling Dina he's over her anyways" You're best friend said, finishing up her explanation of yesterdays event with Dina and Jesse. He found the two of them smoking near a warehouse and from what you made out of Ellie's explanation, he wasn't too happy to see them sitting so close.
You and Ellie were having another movie night, those happen pretty often. ( Every Wednesday, to be exact.) sitting on the old sofa in your living room with you're legs resting on hers. „Well, it's still fresh. Don't think he's jealous of the two of you spending lots of time together but maybe it's just a weird feeling seeing her with someone else, though there's absolutely nothing between you and Dina" you replied, chuckling at the thought of Jesse being all jealous over nothing. You rested your head back against the many sofa pillows, enjoying the comfy half sitting half laying position you're in. „Yeah.. totally" Ellie mumbled, looking down at her hands resting on top of you ankles, shifting uncomfortably. Knowing Ellie probably better than anyone else, you knew right away that something seems off.
„Wait.." you said, sensing the weird vibe from you're best friend. „There is nothing between you two, right?" you said, lifting you're upper body into a more sitting posture. „Ellie?" you said her name as you're so called friend didn't answer right away. You felt you're heart stink, not really being sure of what's going on exactly. „uhm.. I don't wanna talk about it?" she said, looking at you with an apologetic look, making it sound more like a question than an real steady answer. „Hell no, remember our ‚no lying rule'?" you said. „Cmon we made that rule as we were 15, that's childish." she said while caressing through her hair, suddenly looking all exhausted. „It wasn't childish when I had my first kiss and didn't want to talk about it" You mentioned. Remembering the night you ran about 2 miles to Ellie's house after spending the afternoon with some other kids in the pub, playing some stupid games. After you kissed Sophia as you're truth or dare quest you took of running, straight into the arms of the brown haired girl who couldn't participate that nights event due to a cold. Ellie knew something must've happened and as you really didn't want to talk about it, embarrassed by the fact that everyone could probably tell you never kissed anyone ever before, Ellie set up a rule. *„Let's promise to always be honest, life is too fucked up to screw it up with lies"* you knew she was right and since that night you tried to always be honest to each other.
„Cmon that's totally different!" Ellie defended herself, crossing her arms above her chest. „Jesus, Williams, answer the fucking question and stop being difficult" you said with a light voice, feeling like Ellie was some deer that takes of running as soon as you're tone was slightly off. „I mean, there is nothing between me and Dina.. so" she explained and you could tell that She was satisfied with her answer since her shoulders became less tense. „But you wish there was?" you asked, not able to look at Ellie you decided to give you're hands something to do, grabbing the soda can you had standing infront of you at the table. „I.. yeah, I guess? Okay. Who am I kidding" she said, her hands running over her face. She revealed a slight laugh. „Oh god" she groaned, now fully blushing like a 13 year old teenager. „Yeah, yeah I do like her. Fuck, this is the first time admitting it out loud" she said.
You took a sip from you're soda, the carbonic acid being long gone since you opened the can almost 2 hours ago, giving you a second or two to continue to stay silent. Having the opportunity to ignore the trouble of you're mind right now
The Jealousy building up inside of you made you think like you're going all crazy, fighting against the urge to scream inside a pillow you took that energy elsewhere. „okay, good for you" you said, taking another sip from the drink, hoping to put out the fire building up in you're chest. Ellie looked at you saying „it's not weird, right? Falling for her?" you looked at her again, considering of telling her what you really think. You consider of telling her that's it's not weird, but you don't like it either. No , you hate it. You hate it so much because you want Ellie to fall for you instead of her.
But you didn't say that. Instead you betrayed your 15 year old self by lying to Ellie and yourself.
It's been three months, 4 days and 2,5 Hours without a word from her.
Ever since then , You are entangled in the delicate web of grief for what felt like for two people, where the threads of loss and longing weave intricate patterns within your heart. Two souls, distinct yet equally significant, find their place in the chambers of your being.
Dylan, now resting six feet under, has embarked on a journey beyond the veil. His earthly vessel lies cradled by the soil, while his essence pirouettes among the constellations. The wasteland of the unknown stretches before him—And then there's your best friend, a constellation of memories and shared secrets. But her presence has become elusive, slipping through your fingers like sand. She chooses silence—a withdrawal that echoes louder than any spoken words. And you tried. Oh, how you tried to get her to speak—the silent symphony of longing, the unspoken words that hung in the air like dew-kissed spider silk. Your gaze, a language of its own, whispered secrets that transcended mere sentences. But she? She met your offerings with silence—a void that echoed louder than any spoken syllable. She stopped coming over. The threshold of your space became a chasm, a bridge severed by unspoken truths. The door, once a portal to laughter and whispered confidences, now stood closed. The only ever time you got to see her, to give yourself the inner peace of her being okay, was on the weekly parol meetings. She attended, her presence a fragile thread connecting you both. But she mastered the art of departure—slipping away before your eyes could catch hers. The opposite direction became her refuge, a path untrodden by your footsteps.
Talking wasn't what Ellie needed. You sensed it, that unspoken ache in the air—the need for silence, for space. So you stepped back, honoring the boundaries she drew around her heart. But your longing couldnt be unoticed by you any longer so after three weeks, you started writing to her. Youre desperation spilled over, ink bleeding onto paper. You became a clandestine messenger, slipping perfumed notes into the small slit of her mailbox. Each letter carried a piece of your soul—a plea, a confession, a desperate whisper. It lingered on your fingertips, a bridge between worlds. And as you pressed those letters into the darkness, you imagined her fingers brushing against them. Would she feel the urgency? Would she hear your silent screams for her friendship? Handwritten letters—those delicate vessels of ink and paper—weave memories that transcend mere words. Each stroke of the pen, each carefully crafted sentence, carries a piece of the you in them. The intimacy lies not only in the content but also in the act of creation itself. You decided to write her if shes unable to talk, you wanted to give her the space she needed, you tried to be as understanding as you could. But one unanswered letter turned into two, three, four. You stopped putting them into her mailbox after five.
Now, you're trying to ignore the pain in your heart every time you wake up. Ellie's childish behavior hasn't stopped you from living your life. Instead, you channel your anger and sleepless nights into your work, making each patrol count. Working alongside Jesse has become a bright spot—a fun experience you eagerly anticipate. It's not the same as those moments outside the gates with Ellie, but it's different in a way that doesn't breed resentment.
You and Jesse share a closeness that predates his separation from Dina. The heartbreak they both faced has left its mark, and you find solace in each other's company. Jesse isn't thrilled about the situation either—the breakup and lingering jealousy still gnaw at him. On that second day of patrol together, he broaches the awkward topic between you and Ellie. "So, you gonna tell me what happened or not?" Jesse's voice cut through the quiet of the abandoned checkpoint. He pulled a sandwich from his backpack, the crinkling of the wrapper echoing in the dim light. The two of you sat there, weary from the day's patrol, the weight of your assigned route still clinging to your bones. Nightfall had descended too swiftly, and the dangers of this post-apocalyptic world made it impossible to venture home safely after dark. You shifted uncomfortably on the hard ground, the rough edges of the old checkpoint digging into your back. The makeshift campsite was a stark reminder of the life you now led—constantly on the move, always vigilant. Jesse's eyes bore into yours, waiting for an answer.
"Don't really know what's there to say, to be honest," you replied, your fingers tracing the edges of the food you'd prepared hours ago. The silence now haning between the two of you wasnt uncomftable, punctuated by the distant howl of a lone infected. "Maybe explain why we're now patrol partners? I thought you and Ellie made such a good team. Not that I'm complaining, though—we're badass too. Just wondering why you suddenly decided that Ellie wasn't good enough anymore," Jesse's voice cut through the dimly lit space of the makeshift camp. He lay down on the sleeping bag, using his right arm as a makeshift pillow, his gaze fixed on you. The flicker of confusion danced through the forest of your mind as you replayed Jesse's last words.
"What? I didn't decide that," you replied, studying your friend's posture as he took a bite of his cheese sandwich. "I asked Dina what happened earlier today." Jesse mumbled, his mouth still half full. "Ellie told her it was you who decided to change partners. Don't get me wrong—I feel honored to be your new partner in crime. I was just curious about what happened." - ''the fuck?'' You said more to yourself than him. ''Thats so fucked up..'' -"Okay, c'mon, I need the drama. Please explain to me like everything. Consider me one of your gossip girls," Jesse quipped, his unseriousness bringing a smile to your face. You took another bite of your food, savoring the dry bread as you gathered your thoughts. Trusting Jesse, you decided it wasn't a bad idea to share what had transpired between you and Ellie. So, with a deep breath, you began recounting the events of your last patrol with her. Jesse leans in, eyes wide with curiosity. His sandwich forgotten, he hangs on every word as you recount the events of that fateful patrol with Ellie. The tension, the unspoken words, the ache in your chest—it all spills out, painting a vivid picture of the fractured bond between you and the girl who once felt like your world.
"Damn," Jesse mutters, running a hand through his hair. "That's heavy stuff." His gaze lingers on your face, searching for answers. "You think she'll come around?'' You shrug, the weight of uncertainty settling on your shoulders. ''Dont think so, I think she regrets even kissing me. She has dina now, dont think that she'll need me anymore.'' Your gaze drifts down to your wrist, where the matching bracelet still clings—a fragile thread connecting you to Ellie. You wonder if she wears hers. Jesse, now leading forward, nudges your shoulder playfully. "Well, partner," he says, "we'll keep kicking ass out here. Fuck them both".
After that night, you felt like Jesse and you were attached at the hip. Somehow, you both helped each other navigate the jagged terrain of heartbreak, spending time together and letting the hours slip away. Being friends with Jesse had its perks. He acted as a bridge to Ellie, still maintaining a sort of friendship with Dina, getting slim updates from her. Through Jesse, you received updates about Ellie—whether she was safe, whether she'd eaten enough.
But it wasn't the same. Those impersonal updates couldn't replace the warmth of setting eyes on Ellie, hearing her voice—the cadence of her laughter, the way she'd say your name. You missed the little things, the mundane details that had once woven your lives together. But over the time you started to accept the turn of events, knowing you cannot force Friendship on somebody.
You started to distract yourself outside of work, whether it was with Jesse or... Sophia. After that encounter where Maria broke the news to you about Ellie changing everything, you did the only thing you knew you were really good at: You ran off.
Weirdly enough, two weeks after that pivotal moment and your patrols with Jesse as your new partner, a knock on your door interrupted your vegetable-cutting session in the small kitchen. As you walked toward the door, a million possibilities raced through your mind. Was it Ellie, knocking on the wood on a late rainy afternoon? Or perhaps Jesse, wanting to talk? Dina? Or maybe Joel, coming all the way to the comfort of your four walls to deliver news about his beloved Ellie being hurt.
Secretly, you wished it was Ellie. So you ran a hand through your hair, glancing into the small mirror hanging near the door to check yourself out before opening the squeaky wood. But on the other side stood Sophia, holding a plate covered in aluminum foil. "Uhm... hey," she said, her cheeks flushed with red. "I've made some cake—way too much to eat all by myself. I wanted to share it. If, um, you want to, of course. It's chocolate cake." Her words tumbled out in a rush, and you sensed her nervousness. A Small smile spread across your face as you stepped aside, making space for her to enter the house. "That's too kind," you replied. "You've got impeccable timing. I just finished dinner—perfect time for dessert. Come inside." You didn't mention the comforting fact that her house was all the way across town, meaning she'd walked quite a distance just to bring you cake. Nor did you acknowledge that it was common knowledge that Sophia is allergic to Chocolate but it was your favorite.
One hour with Sophia turned into two, and before you knew it, the entire afternoon was filled with your laughter. She ended up staying over, making your house feel less empty. Since Dylan's passing, sleep had eluded you. Without Ellie by your side, it felt impossible to quiet your mind. Sophia changed that somewhat, but it didn't feel the same. Perhaps your own mind betrayed you, clouding your thoughts about her presence. You didn't want her to leave, yet you didn't necessarily want her to stay either. The universe seemed to decide for you, as the strawberry-blonde girl drifted off to sleep on your sofa after what felt like an eternity of talking.
You settled into your gray armchair, gently covering her thin body with your favorite blanket—the same one Ellie used to take whenever she stayed over. The entire night, you found yourself comparing Sophia to Ellie—the way she moved, the cadence of her voice, the sparkle in her eyes when she spoke about her interests. It wasn't a good thing, you must admit. Sophia is a nice girl, but you never really considered her a potential friend, especially since you both shared your first kisses with each other. After that, things got weird, and you both grew up, walking different paths.
Yet now, here she was—baking you cakes, making you laugh, and filling the void left by Ellie. The universe had a funny way of intertwining lives, even when hearts were tangled in memories and unanswered letters. Having someone else in Ellie's place is like trying to fit a puzzle piece into a space that was uniquely shaped for her. It's both comforting and disorienting—a blend of familiarity and foreignness. Her presence brings warmth, but it's a different kind—the soft glow of candlelight instead of the blazing fire that Ellie ignited.Sophia's touch is gentle, her fingers tracing patterns on your skin. But it lacks the electric charge—the pulse of longing—that Ellie's touch carried. You wonder if Sophia noticed the way you hesitated, the way your heart stumbles when she leans in too close.
The day with Sophia didnt end there, it stretched into a comfortable rhythm, covering the next two days of your life —a dance of shared meals, laughter, and quiet moments. Her presence filled the spaces that Ellie had once occupied, and you found yourself not minding it at all. The awkwardness of those initial conversations melted away as you both peeled back layers, revealing stories and dreams that wove your lives together.
But life has a way of interrupting even the most harmonious melodies. Jesse, with his uninvited pizza and the entire Twilight saga in tow, barged into your living room. You tried to politely decline the teen romance marathon—you'd seen it one too many times—but Jesse, being Jesse, brushed off your protests. His eyes widened when he saw Sophia sitting there, a teasing grin tugging at his lips. You knew he'd milk this moment, teasing you about having a cute girl over at your house.
After Jesse left, well, pratically run out, you settled back onto the sofa next to Sophia. "That was... Jesse, right?" she asked, her fingers playing with her curly hair. You leaned against the soft material of the sofa, nodding. "Uhm, yup." Sophia's gaze lingered on you, and you sensed her curiosity. "You two do spend a lot of time together—even after patrols," she observed."Oh? You noticed that? Stalking me, huh?" you teased, making Sophia blush. Her cheeks turned a delightful shade of pink. "Well," she replied, her voice soft, "you just always catch my eye." And then, without warning, her body shifted closer. Her hands found their place on either side of your waist, and her lips met yours—a sweetness that tasted like possibility. You hated yourself for it, truly. Because here was a girl with good intentions, almost on top of you, and your mind couldn't help but wish it was Ellie.
Another two months slip through your fingers, ephemeral as morning mist. Life, once heavy with the ache of Ellie's absence, begins to lift itself up. Sophia becomes a constant presence—a sunbeam that warms the corners of your heart as you allow yourself. Your growing relationship with Sophia blossoms, and you find comfort in her laughter, her touch, and the shared moments that weave your lives together. The unspoken question lingers: Are you allowed to call her your girlfriend? After all, you've shared more than just cake and conversations. Perhaps labels matter less than the way she looks at you, the way her fingers intertwine with yours.
And then there's Jesse—the steadfast friend who bridges the gap between patrols and pizza nights. His teasing about Sophia doesn't go unnoticed, but he's also the one who brings laughter into your home. Everything else remains unchanged—the memories, the unanswered letters, and the quiet longing. Life moves forward, and you find solace in the delicate balance of old and new. Patrol was as good as it could be, once you and Jesse found a way to connect your abilities, it didnt really feel like work anymore.
"Yo, little one," Jesse's voice cut through the quiet of the stables, interrupting your grooming session with Lacy. You turned to meet his gaze, immediately noticing his patrol clothes—fitting perfectly against his frame. "What the hell are you doing? We have the day off, remember?" you asked, your fingers still caressing Lacy's mane.
"Not anymore," Jesse replied, already opening the door to his horse's stable. "Dina apparently has the flu, and they both forgot to sign in at the station outside. Maria asked me to take their route for today and look for anything weird." He led his dark brown horse out of the stable, determination etched on his face.
"Good luck with that," you said, turning back to continue your work. But Jesse wasn't done. "Nuh huh, lover girl. You're joining me," he declared, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Pardon?" You looked at him, confusion knitting your brows. "Don't hit me with Spanish,"- ''Its french'' Jesse chuckled. "well whatever it was,I don't speak it. Come on now, get ready. We don't have all day." He saddled his horse efficiently, his movements practiced. "Why should I? You said yes, not me," you replied stubbornly, even though you gathered all the essentials needed to prepare Lacy. "Well, because I'm your partner in crime? Your work husband? Love of your patrol life?" Jesse grinned, his eyes dancing with mischief. "And because I'll get bored alone. You don't have anything better to do anyway." - ''Rude?! maybe i had things planned?!'' You said, jokingly offended as you grab your stuff ''You can meet sophia and have all of those important 'converstations'' he made weird kissing noises ''later.'' He finished his sentance, making you laugh ''Well first of all I-'' You got interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat. You looked into the direction of the noise and saw the last person you wanted to see today. ''Sup, Ellie.'' Jesse said, leaning against the stable door. ''what can I do for you?'' He asked, eyes stuck on ellie. But her gaze lied elsewhere; On you.
You shivered under her gaze, your heart racing. As you looked into Ellie's eyes—the first time in forever—you sensed something there, something you couldn't quite put into words. Her burning gaze finally shifted from you to Jesse, arms crossed at her chest.
"Earlier, when me and Dina were at the station, I lost my journal," Ellie said, her voice close, intimate. "Can you look for it? Kinda really need it back." Her words echoed through the stable, and suddenly, the air felt too thin. Your knees wobbled, memories of Ellie cascading down the memory bridge, crashing into your stomach. You felt like you might throw up. "Sure, we will look for it. Anything else?" Jesse asked, glancing between the two of you. Ellie's eyes traveled back to you, and silent hope bloomed in your chest. Maybe this was the moment—maybe Ellie would finally have the guts to talk to you directly, to say she's sorry. But as her gaze wavered, you felt the familiar pang of disappointment. Once again, Ellie remained silent. You felt a strong hand on your shoulder, silently offering support. Jesse's familiar scent enveloped you. "Thought so," he said, ending the conversation. Ellie nodded and turned away, leaving the two of you alone. The barn was filled with silence until you spoke with a shaky voice. "Okay, let's just go." And so you did—you and Jesse left for patrol. But with every passing second, the memory of that confrontation lingered, and you realized how much you still craved her.
"Jesus, I hate this path," Jesse grumbled, pushing open the old, creaky door to the station. His face turned red from the effort, and you couldn't help but giggle. "Stop crying like a baby. Let's sign in and leave," you said, walking toward the desk on the opposite side of the room. As you approached, you noticed that a pen was missing. Without it, you obviously couldn't sign in.
"Jesse, there's no pen," you called out, looking at your friend. "Really? Look under the table or something. We'll find one," he replied. You followed his suggestion, getting down on your knees. Spiderwebs greeted you, along with the encroaching dusk. You pulled out your flashlight, shining it underneath the table for a better look. And there it was—an old, leather-covered book. You'd recognize that book spine anywhere, even in the grandest libraries.
You picked it up, wiping away the dust that clung to its material. The thickness of the journal reminded you of what you were holding—a door to Ellie Williams' secrets and mindful thoughts. "Found one!" Jesse's voice snapped you out of your reverie. You turned around, hiding the journal behind your back. Jesse joined you, writing your names on the slim paper of the checklist. ‘Partner in crimes ( Jesse and y/n)’
"Did you find anything? The book, I mean. It's not somewhere I looked," Jesse asked. You shook your head, slipping the journal into your bag without it being noticed. "Nope, didn't find it either."
''Every poem I ever wrote was about her. That smile of hers, those golden eyes—whenever she's too close to the sun, it's impossible for me to stay away. The day I left, my heart shattered into a million pieces. In my head, inside my perfect self-made world, she never left me. All my thoughts revolve around her—the memories etched into my mind. Her touch, so soft—I never wanted to let go. The scent of her clothes, stealing my breath away. The nights we spent dreaming together, the minutes I never want to regret. I never dared to imagine a lifetime without her. Yet here I am, writing these words with a hole in my chest. I'm bleeding out, the wind kissing my mind, refreshing memories of letting go. The silence surrounds me, a reminder to hold on.
I search the past for redemption, but it eludes me. The only thing left of me are broken pieces of her.”
The words were carefully etched onto the paper, making it hard for you to breathe. You hadn't intended to overstep her privacy—why had you taken that journal in the first place? You dont know. But here you were, sitting with the book in hand, the only light in the living room emanating from the countless candles you'd lit.
The journal looked thicker than usual, and that's what caught your attention first. You knew that book well, even though you'd never seen what she put inside—except for her drawings of animals, Joel, Dina, and you. She'd never shown anyone what she wrote between the pages.
The reason you'd decided to open the book, against all your inner morals, was the fact that as you carefully pulled it out of your bag—treating it like fragile glass—multiple letters fell out. You noticed them right away. They were yours—carefully written letters she'd never dared to answer. The envelopes ripped open showed you she defenetly read them all. You dont know how to feel about that yet. Relieved that she cared enough to read them? Happy becasue she carried your letters with her, doesnt matter where shed go? Or mad, because she never replied? You know nothing. The only thing you're able to do now is bury yourself in the book, reading what Ellie never dared to say out loud.
''Ive been having a hard time adjusting, I had the shiniest wheels, now they're rusting. I didn't know if you'd care if I came back, I have a lot of regrets about that. Pulled the car off the road to the lookout, Could've followed my fears all the way down. And maybe I don't quite know what to say but I'm here in your doorway. I just wanted you to know that this is me trying''
The words cut deeper than a knife,
before you knew it, your eyes traveled to the next phrases, crossed out, you could barely read them:
"It's hard to be anywhere these days when all I want is you.
Seeing you with Sophie burns me from inside out.
Why are you with her?
I know I don't own you, perhaps I never will,
so the anger inside of me when I see you with her
is something I'm not allowed to feel.
What I feel, I shouldn't show you.
So when you're around, I don't.
I let you walk away with her.
I know I don't have the right to feel it,
but it doesn't mean I don't."
The rest of the book was empty, besides some skteches of eyes that look dangerously like yours. You swallowed hard, not really sure of what you should feel. You re-read the sentences out loud, letting the bittersweet aftertaste of them making you feel alive. Your heart has been Ellies since the first time you both laughed together; yet you were so sure of the fact that she would never feel the same. Considering the words in the journal, maybe it wasnt one sided after all. Youre confused, being with Sophia was easy, comftable. But with ellie, it was different. better. You miss the butterflies in your stomach, miss her touch and her closeness. The rollercoster was everything you ever had, after all.
Two days of full selfishness carried its weight, and you continued to keep the journal. The guilt crept in, stealthy as shadows, finding you at night, when the world slept and your thoughts roamed free. Those written pages from Ellie, inked with longing and crossed-out confessions, haunted your mind. You tried your best to hide the pain, a fragile masquerade. Distancing yourself from Sophia and Jesse, you walked the tightrope of deception. It wasn't deliberate; it was survival. The what-could've-been danced like a ghost, whispering secrets in your ear. You wondered if Ellie's heart echoed the same unspoken words.
Sophia, her presence a comforting harbor, yet her touch felt like borrowed warmth. And Jesse, his eyes— The guilt gnawed at you, a relentless hunger. You held Sophia too close, fearing Ellie's phantom gaze. You looked into Jesse's eyes, and the lie about keeping the Journal tasted bitter on your tongue. Ellie, elusive as a wisp of smoke. The barn encounter—the air thick with unspoken truths—left you breathless. You havent seen her since. You called in sick for the patrol meeting, a desperate escape from the inevitable. The fear of facing her again, of unraveling the fragile equilibrium, gripped your heart.
In the quiet of your room, the journal lay open. The crossed-out phrases, the sketches of eyes—they were your silent companions.
——————————————————-
"Okay, Miss being all sad and distant, I'm not having this anymore. Tell me what's going on right now or I'm killing you," Jesse declared, pressing past you as you opened the door. His urgency hung in the air, a storm brewing behind his eyes.
"Jesus, very aggressive today, aren't we?" you quipped, trailing after your friend into the living room. The door closed behind you, sealing you both in a cocoon of tension. You sank into the couch, and Jesse settled next to you, his gaze drilling holes into your soul."Therapy session. Now. What's going on?" His hands clasped together, a makeshift gavel. The room felt smaller, suffocating. You glanced at the coffee table, considering the whiskey bottle, but thought better of it. "Nothing? Do you want to drink anything... or?" Your voice played innocent, a fragile mask. Jesse wasn't fooled. "The jury says stop trying to change the subject." His tone held a mix of exasperation and concern."The jury...?" You grinned, despite the weight in your chest. "Yeah, me." Jesse's eyes softened, and you chuckled. "It's nothing, really.“
"You're completely distant," he said, his voice calm. "Even Sophia asked me if I have any idea what's going on." The truth hung between you like a fragile thread, ready to snap.
"I don't know... it's, urgh, weird." You fidgeted with the edge of a cushion. Jesse leaned closer, his breath warm against your cheek. "Tell me!" His insistence bordered on desperation
"Okay, but promise me not to hate me?" You gave him a side-eye, afraid of meeting his gaze head-on. "Could never hate you," he replied, and the words carried weight. So you spilled it—the secret you'd harbored, the journal you'd found.
Ellie's words, inked and crossed out, danced in your memory. You didn't reveal the exact phrasing, but you shared the confusion—the way her emotions bled through the pages. Jesse listened, his eyes wide, and you wondered if he saw the echoes of your own heartache.
In that quiet room, the truth hung heavy. You'd kept Ellie's words hidden, but now they spilled forth. Jesse's hand found yours, and you clung to it, hoping for absolution. "It's Ellie," you whispered. "It's always been Ellie." His silence spoke volumes, eyes carrying the weight of unspoken understanding. He'd always sensed your feelings for Ellie, perhaps even before you did. It wasn't a secret to anyone but her—the way your heart gravitated toward her, like a moth drawn to a flame. “You guys need to talk.” Jesse said.
"I can't," you whispered, the words fragile on your tongue. The weight of unspoken truths pressed against your chest, threatening to spill forth."And why the fuck not? What do you have to lose?" Jesse's voice held a mix of frustration and concern. He saw through your defenses, stripped away the layers you'd carefully woven. Ellie—the enigma, the ache—loomed between you like a shadow."Afraid of losing her? I think you already archived that." His bluntness cut through your heart. You knew it too well—the missed chances, the crossed-out phrases, the silence that echoed louder than words. Jesse could see the pain in you and the bluntless paired with that slight tinge of what appeared to be anger slowly disappeared into thin air, much like the smoke of a lit cigarette blown into the night sky.
"Look" he begins, sighing while he considers the phrasing of this. He means no harm, but being too gentle could erase the importance of the situation "I want to help you, but you cannot hide yourself away. If you truly want this girl, you need to be able to put in the effort. Dina and Ellie arent dating either, dina told me herself that the two of them thought there was something but ended up with nothing. Be honest with yourself, but also with everyone else" You exhale deeply, relief floods your system despite the heavy heart still pounding against your chest.
Jesse is the kind of friend you can never let go. He's just that important.
Between the soft tunes of comfortingly familiar songs and a few shed tears, the two of you scheme together... Creating a, hopefully, foolproof plan on how to finally approach the elephant in the room. Ellie and you; it wasn't over, was it?

PATCHED UP: ellie williams x fem reader ( for @zndayacc ❤️‍🩹 )
SUMMARY: Ellie comes back from Seattle all bloodied and bruised so you patch her up and stay with her.
WARNINGS: Blood, death mentions
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
You had been worried sick for days for your best friend as she went on a trip to Seattle for vengeance for Joel. Joel was like a father to her so you understood her need to take care of his murderer. You would’ve gone with her but you had your duties to attend to at Jackson.
You almost felt guilt pang in your stomach as you see Ellie, Dina who were trying their best to walk an unconscious Tommy through the gates of Jackson. Everyone in the community rushes over to attend to their injuries. Well, mostly Tommy’s considering he had been shot in the eye.
Your stomach drops when you realise someone was missing, Jesse. He had gone after them because he didn’t want them to do it alone, and he also looked up to the man who was killed by Abby and her crew.
You notice Ellie’s broken expression meet yours, you quickly pick up the pace and run over to her. You carefully bring her into an embrace, being careful you never harmed her more than she was. “I was worried sick.”
“Jesse—” Her broken voice starts to speak up.
You cut her off, “I figured.” You feel the tears brim in your eyes but shake them off as the most important thing at hand right now was Ellie. “Let’s get you patched up, okay?” She barely nods before you drag her over to the small med bay, considering you’re a nurse you know what you’re doing.
It had been a whole after patching Ellie up you take her to where she stays and gets her in her bed. What she needs was rest for the eventful days she had went through.
Ellies voice croaked as she started speaking, “Abby— She’s still out there. Free. She killed Joel she doesn’t deserve to wander—” She doesn’t get to finish as she starts breaking down. You immediately go to her side, bringing her into a hug as her tears soak into your t-shirt but you didn’t seem to mind, since it was Ellie.
You draw stars on her shoulder to try and calm her. She had been bottling up her emotions since Joel died in front of her, she needed this, to let it go. “Its okay.” You comfort her. Your voice soothing her as her sobs start to slow down. “Come on,” You move her so she can lay down on her bed. “You need some rest.”
Ellie doesn’t fight, she lets you tuck her in to her comforter as she feels sleep ready to take over her. You notice her tired expression and get ready to leave her to get some rest but she stops you. “Please, stay. I can’t be alone.”
All you do is nod, and get into bed with her, her arms going around your waist as your hands finds their way through her hair, massaging her scalp. She falls asleep in no time, you look at her and notice how peaceful she looks when shes asleep. You then fall asleep not long after Ellie did. Both your bodies still tangled together.

something about july. pt 1
pairing. outdoors staff! ellie williams x pool staff f! reader.
synopsis. ellie has been working at this summer camp for the last 5 years, and when she spots you for the first time blowing up pool floats with Dina, she knows she's in trouble. ellie and reader find themselves flirting every chance they get, pulling pranks and having a sweet summer fling. warnings. right now it's just fluff and wholesome, use of y/n, friends to lovers trope but eventual 18+. eventual mention and usage of substances, drunk/high kissing, and makeout woot woot.
an. lol so this is my first time writing a fic in a while. wanted smthn that would make you wanna kick your feet and giggle, so i present to you part one of summer camp ellie and reader <3 p.s. apologies in advance, editing as I go lol.
Tumblr media
It's 9:00 am on a Saturday in July, and Ellie pulls up to the campground that's already buzzing with excitement and chatter. Dust flies behind her truck as she drives along the dirt road and gravel through the camp. Window down, the summer breeze and smell of pine fills her car bringing a smile to her lips. Damn I missed this, she thinks.
She immediately recognizes her friends and fellow staff among the small crowd, they work hard to move tables and haul in groceries for this weeks meals, others are organizing gear and supplies for hikes– which she should be doing at this moment.
"You're late Williams!" Ellie looks to her left to find the source of the oh so familiar playful chide. The camp director approaches her car with a grin on her face. She slows down to pull up next to the woman, leaning her left arm out the window.
"Morning Maggie, beautiful start to the week, huh?" She looks at the older woman, salt and pepper hair in a wild bun, navy blue t-shirt with the camp's logo written across the front and back in a faded white. Her busy clipboard propped against her hip cladded in worn-out denim jeans. She embodies camp mom in every single way, and Ellie missed her like no other.
"It would be, if all of my staff got here on time!" She smacks Ellie's arm playfully with her hand. "We got new staff this year, and the boys are already tormenting them!" She turns around to point to Joel and Tommy under the roof of the mess hall on the left. The brothers laughing as they already finish tying one of the new outdoors crew members' shoes to the beam.
Ellie sticks her head out the window to shout to them. "Better hide the ladder once you're done!"
"Don't worry, already on it!" Tommy turns around almost falling off the thing, but shouts back with a grin.
"How could I forget, you're just as bad as they are." Maggie rolls her eyes. Ellie laughs at her response, getting more excited for what's in store. Joel looks passed Tommy, using his hand to shade his eyes.
"Get your ass over here Williams, these boxes ain't gonna move themselves!"
"I'm coming, hold your horses old man!" Ellie shouts back. She shakes her head and diverts her attention back to the lady with places to be.
"Hurry up now, and be nice to the boys! God knows those two won't. See you later chickadee." Maggie pats her car door to send Ellie off, before giving her a wink.
Ellie drives off to park her truck by the pool and other cars shaded beneath the line of ponderosa pine. It's still pretty early, but the sun's hot beams are brutal right now. Stepping out of the truck, she takes off her green flannel and tosses it onto her tattered passenger seat. Seconds after the slam of her truck door, she is greeted by a warm breeze and another friendly face.
"Ellie! You're here!" She turns around to see Dina peering over the wooden pool fence to say hello. Ellie instantly walks to the gate door to meet Dina for a sweaty hug.
"It's good to see ya D!" Ellie laughs squeezing her tight and taking in the smell of her freshly applied sunscreen. She pulls back, and Dina comments like everyone else she’s seen.
"You're like an hour late." Ellie scoffs.
"I know! Don't blame me, blame Florence." Ellie groans pointing to her overheated white 1999 Ford Ranger. Dina rolls her eyes in response, but gets a burst of excitement. She almost forgot what made her so giddy in the first place. She grabs Ellie's shoulders with force and locks eyes. There’s a shift in the air between them with a sense of seriousness. Ellie doesn't know what to think, but stands confused and leaning back slightly. "What is it Dina..."
"Ellie, we got new swim staff."
"I know, I met them at the last meeting?"
"No Ellie, you didn't meet this one." Ellie quirks a brow looking at Dina with a puzzled eye.
"Dina what are you talking about–"
"Ellie she's cute, and gay." Dina emphasizes, cutting her off to nod her chin to hint what's behind her– or more importantly who.
"Again, what are you talking about?" Dina turns around and pulls Ellie to her side to reveal the sight by the other end of the pool.
As a few other new staff members begin to move away from the shed, behold there you are barely out of reach of the pool structures shade, glistening in the sun. Your skin tanned and kissed by freckles, and exposed in your yellow bikini top and denim shorts. Your hair tied up in messy ponytail, loose pieces stick to your back from sunscreen and sweat.
"oh, that's what you're talking about..." Ellie's eyes widen. Dina looks at Ellie and giggles like a school girl.
It's funny, while Ellie gawks at you, you look quite silly bent over struggling to blow up pool floaties alongside Jesse. She can hear you arguing with him over how many blow up balls versus rings you need.
Dina knows what she's doing, and already feels the need to play matchmaker.
Grabbing Ellies hand and giving her a devilish grin, she begins to pull her along the edge of the pool towards the two of you. "Jesse look whose here!" Dina announces giggling.
Ellie's heart quickens, her nerves sinking in. The thing is, she hasn't talked to a pretty gay girl in, let's be honest, a while. And on top of that, she's also an over thinker. So she has indeed already exhausted every encounter or issue that could errupt after talking to you.
"What are you doing?!" Ellie whisper panics trying to pull away without looking too suspicious, Dina just snickers in response as they both now stand in front of the two pool staff attempting to blow up a giant turtle floaty.
You hardly notice the two girls that come up, you are too caught up in your mission to find the other air pump in the ridiculous wooden chest of a mess overflowing with pool toys and goggles.
Jesse looks up before his face falls into a big smile. "Aye you finally made it!" He beams while standing up. Ellie tries to focus on giving him a hug, but all she can think about is who this mysterious girl in a small yellow bikini is.
Your back was to the three of them before you turn around. You briefly scan the over the two girls before locking eyes with the one you've never seen before. You first notice her tank top, Patagonia baggies and dirty blue vans. Her shoulder length auburn hair was tied half up half down, but a few pieces escaped framing her face. Freckles sprayed across her nose and cheeks, and her green eyes never left yours.
Everything about her screamed gay, and hot.
Dina and Jesse watch as the two of you stare blankly at one another, unsure what to say– Ellie is afraid to take a breath from the looks of it, her cheeks are showing the slightest shade of pink.
"Y/N this is Ellie! We grew up going to camp together with Jesse, and now she's been working in outdoors for about 5 years now!" Dina grins after her introduction, nudging Ellie's arm with her elbow to say hello.
But all she could think was holy shit, cute girl cute girl cute girl...
"Uh, hi yeah I'm Ellie, nice to meet you." She sticks her hand out, showing off her right forearm; covered in the most gorgeous tattoo you've ever seen.
"Hi Ellie, i'm Y/N." You smile, shaking her hand– it's a little sweaty which you blame on the heat, but she blames on you. Your eyes flicker back to her arm. "I really like your tattoo! It's really pretty." You beam as you let her hand go.
You're really pretty. She makes a note to herself to never wear a long sleeve around you ever.
"Oh thanks, I got it a few years ago." She replies, unsure of what to add. God why do pretty girls make my brain go dumb?
Just as Dina was about to intervene, Tommy calls for Ellie over the fence. "Ellie, Joel needs your help planning the first 3 day hikes, Mia can't go!" He shouts before walking back towards the outdoors tent.
She turns her head back and shouts that she's coming before turning back to look at you, a small smile forms on her lips. "I gotta go before Joel kills me, but uh– it was nice meeting you."
You offer a smile and a "you too" in return as she heads back towards the pool gate. She looks back one last time and you give a little wave.
Of course this small interaction made her chest flutter, and knees weak. She fought every fibre in her body to not look back at you. As she walked towards the group of boys all she could think to herself was: I'm in trouble for sure.

Tumblr media
you’re sitting with jesse and dina, trying to be polite and engage in conversation, but you can’t. you can’t keep up with trying to time your fake laughter in time when they make a joke, not because they aren’t funny, but you can’t pay attention.
the only thing you can focus on is ellie. ellie ellie ellie
dina’s not stupid, she’s been involved with ellie. she knows how enticing she can be without even having to try.
she’s also quick to notice your lack of involvement in conversing, she can follow your eyes that always lead right to ellie. she doesn’t blame you, no one could. all the girls in your friend group have fallen victim to ellie’s effect.
and now it was your turn.
your heart picks up just that much more, when ellie glances at you in the bleachers, and she smiles for a moment, waving at you before she returns her attention back to the game. “WOO YEAH ELLIE!” jesse yells, cupping his hands around his mouth.
“i barely understand what’s happening,” he whispers to both you and dina and you laugh, shrugging. “honestly? i don’t either, i’m just here for ellie,” and jesse doesn’t even have time to stop himself from laughing.
“oh we know,” he snickers and dina nudges him. “don’t be a dick,” she chides, glancing over at you while you try to lessen the hot embarrassment in your cheeks.
“sorry, sorry,” he says comfortingly, scooting closer to you on the bleachers. he rubs your arm and you lean on his shoulder, watching ellie dribble the basketball.
she’s hunched forward, and you can see the necklace you gave her on her birthday hang from her neck, and a bit of warmth flutters in the pit of your stomach at the sweet detail.
you watch ellie push at her opponents, knocking them down like it’s nothing, dribbling the ball before shooting and scoring, not once missing the hoop. she’s impressive, but you don’t really care about the game, no no, all you can manage to care about is just how good ellie looks.
the navy blue uniform fits her so well, it complements her fair skin, and the way she pauses, holding the ball between her thighs when she re-ties her hair, pulling the top half back and letting the front strands fall beside her temples, inevitably sticking to her from the sweat, you can’t bear it.
you’re so, so happy you made dina and jesse come early to the game, swearing up and down if you just beat the crowd you’d score good seats, and boy were you more than right.
you got a front seat to all the action, up close glances at ellie’s hands gripping the ball, her long slender fingers curling over the curve of it, made you squirm just a little.
she walks to the side, taking gulps of water from her bottle, and you watch the droplets stream down her chin messily, trickling beneath her jersey.
she lifts it up, wiping her mouth clean, and your grip on jesse’s arm gets tighter, your eyes unable to peel themselves off the sight of her fit and toned abdomen.
ugh. you need her.
jesse looks down at you, bumping you gently with his shoulder. “you feelin’ alright?” he asks and you sit up, nodding with a pat to his knee. “yeah, uh yeah, sorry, i’m good.” you sip from the slushie dina bought and he raises a brow, clicking his tongue. “yeah…okay,” he chuckles, turning back to face forward.
dina tilts her head backwards behind jesse’s back, catching your stare. she smiles knowingly at you, wiggling your hand in her’s. you both share a laugh before looking back at the game.
–
the game ends, and you’re waiting for ellie in the parking lot to come out from the locker rooms. you’re nervously fiddling with the ends of your tank top, tugging at the loose threads, and dina notices.
she stands next to you, bumping her hips to your’s. “you make things so obvious, be cool, i think she’s coming,” she says quietly, low enough for only you to hear, and you make a squeaky sound full of nerves, looking at her with wide worried eyes. “don’t freak! you look good,” she winks, falling back behind you with jesse.
ellie spots the three of you, her long legs taking strides right to where you all stood. “WOO there’s our champ, congrats dude you killed it,” jesse cheers, and ellie laughs, shaking her head when jesse and her connect hands and hug with a firm pat over the back.
“thank you, thank you,” she curtsies with the ends of her flannel.
“hey din,” she greets, and dina smiles, pulling her in for a hug. her sights shift to you, and her smile deepens. “hi,” she breathes out, her hand falling to your waist, her grasp was just a passing away from tight as she ushers you in her arms.
you squeeze her back, the scent of her freshly washed hair and skin filling your senses. “you did great,” you praise softly, and she replies with an equally soft, thank you, her hand deviating right on the curve above your ass, running her hand side to side.
a spark explodes in the space cradled by the plump of your thighs at her touch.
you can smell the honey and white oak native body wash on her, feeling dizzy from it even when she lets you go, her hands still lingering over your waist. she eyes you, mouthing a silent hi once more before her eyes fall back to jesse and dina.
“so!” she claps her hands together, rubbing them excitedly when she stands amidst you three. “where’re you guys takin’ me for my celebration dinner?”
“about that,” jesse sighs awkwardly, scratching at his neck. “dina and i gotta study for that molecular biology exam tomorrow, we won’t be able to do the dinner celebration with you tonight, i’m sorry ells,” he frowns, but you’re not stupid, actually, even an idiot could see through his poor excuse of a lie.
“yeah, i’m sorry ellie, i promise we’ll make it up to you, but!” dina’s eyes flicker to you, and your eyes widen, your face drops in horror, shaking your head and hands rapidly behind ellie. “someone is still free,” she nods towards you, and ellie turns to look at you.
you paint a smile over the anxiety etched in your face. “you still down for dinner?” she asks, and you bob your head affirmatively, praying she can’t see how painfully nervous you are.
“alright well,” she drapes an arm over your shoulders, turning back to dina and jesse. “you guys suck, we are gonna go have dinner. later.” she sends them a peace sign, walking with you over to her truck.
“how much you wanna bet she’s gonna hit?” jesse asks and dina, groans, rolling her eyes. “you’re gross,” she hops in the car, and he joins her in the passenger seat.
“but 20 bucks.” she answers, looking at him with an upside down smile. jesse laughs, taking her hand in a firm shake. “you’re on.”
–
it’s quiet for awhile, the sound of cars driving beside the truck is calming, the sound of ellie drumming her fingers against the steering wheel is too, but no matter how tame your environment is, you just can’t seem to shed the anxiety that comes with being alone with her. but lucky for you, she speaks while you can’t seem to.
“so you and jesse are gettin’ pretty close huh?” she asks, her left elbow resting against the car window, driving with her right hand. she looks over at you, and you look back, slightly confused.
“uh, i mean i suppose. he hangs around dina and i’s dorm a lot.”
she nods, a quiet yeah while she purses her lips. “i just ask because you guys seemed kinda. buddy buddy at the game,” and you laugh in a hushed disbelief, turning in your seat to face her.
“dude, it’s definitely not like that,” you’re shaking your head, the thought of you and jesse being together is almost hysterical.
the thought of you being with anyone that wasn’t the girl sitting right next to you was ridiculous, but you keep that thought to yourself.
“nah, i just mean..it’d be…cute, if you guys were a thing.” cute sounds forced coming from ellie, the taste on her tongue from verbalizing the image of you and jesse together leaves her crinkling her lips to the side, unhappy with the thought.
you laugh again, and she gazes over at you, brow raised, thumb running under her bottom lip. “somethin’ funny?” she half laughs dryly.
“no no, it’s just,” your laughter fades as you wipe the fake tears from your eyes. “you sound jealous is all. it’s silly.”
the corner of her lips curl just a little, and she inches her head towards you, her hand resting on the stick shift. “do i?” she asks, her voice dropping lower than it usually is, and you swallow hard, feeling hot under her gaze.
you look at the hand that rests next to you on the stick shift, eyes tracing over her knuckles, the rings that adorn them…
you look back up at her and she laughs under her breath, catching you in your stares. she continues driving once the red light switches back to green. “here, you can play whatever you want.” she hands you her phone, and you grin, giggling something cute, taking her phone.
your brows come up in surprise when you log in to her spotify. the saved playlists in her recent activity are not her’s.
“these playlists. they look… familiar,” you suck on your bottom lip to keep from the wide smile itching to spread.
her cheeks get a little pinker at your observations and she chuckles, leaning in deeper in her seat, running her fingers under her lips. “caught me. i stalked your spotify.”
you scroll through the many saved playlists, laughing in shock when you look back at her. “creep, you have just about every playlist i’ve ever made.” the words ring even truer when you land on the playlist entitled e.
shit.
you clear your throat, quickly choosing a playlist that wasn’t the one you made during a crying fit at 2am because you overheard from jesse that she was hooking up with a girl from her basketball team.
“i just so happen to think you have good music taste, and by the way,” she glances away from the road for a moment over to you, pointing a finger in the air. “no one ever gets aux privileges in the truck, so feel special.”
you hold her phone to your chest, bowing with dramatic graciousness. “thank you ellie for this honor, i will appreciate it until the day i die,” she half scoffs, half laughs, the tip of her tongue poking her cheek. “yeah you better,” she feigns a grumble.
“anyways,” you draw out, poking at her sides, laughing when she does at your prodding. “where does the winner wanna eat?”
“agh i was just thinking about that, i kinda want something fancy, i feel like i need to eat something fit for a king,” she’s partially joking, but she’s starving, ready to eat just about anything, and she almost says that when she looks over at you.
she wonders how much you’d squirm if she said that.
“ahh yes, a feast if you will,” you agree, tapping your chin. “what’s fancy and nearby?”
—
you two landed in an olive garden.
“this is the fanciest place i know!” ellie says in defense, trying to convince you of the pure class olive garden has to offer.
“no yeah, i definitely believe that olive garden is the fanciest place you know,” you laugh quietly when she opens the door for you.
“don’t be rude,” she squints at you, pointing at you in tandem.
you two are seated by a hostess, ellie trails behind you, her hand in the middle of your back while you walk, and you have to pretend it isn’t affecting you, and that the heat from her hand doesn’t radiate itself all the way down to a place where it shouldn’t be.
“your server will be right with you,” is what you both are left with before you start scavenging over the menu.
“i’m kinda tempted to get the tour of italy thing but i’m gonna be glued to their toilet if i do,” ellie clicks her tongue and you laugh behind the menu.
“well,” you set the menu down, ellie following in your actions. “is it worth it? tour of italy feast and then explosive diarrhea or one plate of pasta and a minor poop session?”
ellie stares at you with lips cracking into a wobbly laugh. “you really know how to set the mood, don't you?” and you laugh, despite the feeling that picks up in your lower stomach.
set the mood?
was there a mood to be set?
before you can reply, the waiter comes, and you’re half tempted to tell him you need more time, just for a few more seconds alone with ellie.
“you’re not paying.” ellie says with finality, giving you a look that says don’t argue. but naturally, of course you do.
“no dude c’mon, it’s your night, you shouldn’t have to pay.” you try to tug at the bill, but her grip is unwavering. “yeah, my night, my rules.” she taps the bill over your nose before digging out her wallet. she slides her credit card into the tablet at the table, winking at you when she catches your annoyed stare.
you roll your eyes despite the fluttery feeling rushing in your chest at the small act. “next time i’m paying.” you promise, and ellie nods patronizingly, opening the door for you on your way out. “don’t give me that look, i’m serious!”
ellie just hums an, i’m sure you are, tossing one of those chocolate mints into her mouth.
“where to next?” you ask, buckling yourself up in the passenger seat. she rests her elbow on your seat, turning around to watch the back of her truck while she pulls out.
your face gets hot, and you can’t get yourself to scoot away from how close she is to you.
“uh, dunno. figured we could just drive around for a bit. that cool with you?” she asks, still close to you, close and in your air. you can smell the chocolate mint and peach bellini tea on her breath and you have to calm yourself before you speak.
“yeah, yeah it-it’s cool with me.” you respond quieter than you intended.
“you sure? i can drop you back off at your dorm if you’re not feelin’ it–”
“no, i mean aha, no no it’s all good with me,” you reply faster than you meant, and you feel like slapping yourself when she laughs. “alright,” she smiles at you, turning back to face the road.
music fills in the silence when you can’t, mind buzzing with possible things to say, none of them sounding good enough to mention.
“so, i heard you’re talking to abby,” ellie says, pulling you up and out of the heaps of thoughts you dug yourself into.
“wait, like talking talking?” you ask, and ellie nods, sucking on her teeth, and you can’t help but wonder if her visible dislike of mentioning abby is because she’s jealous, or because she just doesn’t like her. you tell yourself it’s the ladder, but a giddy feeling fills you up from the pit of your gut at the idea of the other option.
“no, no it’s not like that, i think she’s still into owen or something.” you answer and ellie stays quiet, nodding to herself slowly.
“but if she wasn’t?” she pushes a little further, glancing over at you. “well, i don’t really like abby like that, she’s not my type.” you shrug, and ellie chuckles. “yeah, girls?”
you feel like yelling in her face that you more than like girls, if anything you happen to be in love with the one that’s currently driving.
“no stupid, if anything i’m not…particularly into owen’s type. abby’s cool but, i’m not interested.” you’re treading lightly on this topic, not quite sure why, ellie’s the last person you should be nervous to talk about this with, and yet you still are.
to be fair, ellie just makes you nervous to begin with.
when she pulls to a stop at the red light, her hand finds its way back behind your seat, very close to the nape of your neck.
she's tilting her head at you, her skin illuminating from the bright red glare from the light, and a curl at her lips makes you feel hot all over. “really? i didn’t know you were into girls,”
“how?” you laugh and she shrugs, joining you in your laugh. “well you never said anything!” she replies, her words hanging off the curve of playful exasperation.
you point your knees towards her, letting yourself get closer. “you never asked.” you reply, and she sucks on her bottom lip, her fingers brushing behind your neck, trailing your shoulder. “yeah, you’re right.” she all but whispers, barely covering the sound of your shivering at her ghosting touches.
“i kinda guessed, but just left it as wishful thinking.” you peer at her wordlessly, her comment echoing in the walls of your head.
what was there to be wishful of? is she purposefully saying this shit?
“i wouldn’t have minded,” you decide to say, and she hums a, minded what?
“if you asked. i…i wouldn’t have minded.” you’re quiet when you speak again, and ellie nods to herself, and she chuckles something to herself. “should’ve asked then.”
its quiet for awhile more, until ellie speaks up. “and by the way, you could do a lot better than abby anderson,” you exhale a little at what she says, feigning unsurety, leaning towards where her hand rests.
“i dunno, she is kind of hot.” ellie’s brows screw together and she scoffs. “her name sounds like she came up with it on the spot, she’s always got the same fuckin’ braid and she plays a stupid sport.”
you’re holding back the volume of how hard you want to laugh, which is loudly, but you refrain. “her name is normal and softball isn’t stupid.” she shoots you a suspecting glare, eyes flickering over you up and down. “you sure you don’t like abby?”
you huff, punching at her shoulder, trying to hide your smile when she laughs an ow dude!
“i don’t like abby,” you grumble, and ellie’s lips turn in a cocky way at your confirmation, wanting to rub it right in abby’s face.
“but what about you?” you ask, somewhat accusingly, interrupting ellie’s internal gloating. “what about me? you know i can’t stand her,” she answers and you blow out an irritated sigh.
“not who i’m talking about. i heard you have a thing with one of the girls on your team.” you’re not sure why you let yourself bring it up, the last thing you want to hear is ellie going into detail about her romp with some girl who isn’t you.
“what?” she laughs airily, her wrist now hanging off the stick shift. “where’d you hear that?” she queries and you purse your lips, shrugging.
“probably from the same place where you heard that i’m talking to abby.” your brow raises at her, and her tongue pokes at her cheek, thumb running along her chin. “alright, alright,” she chuckles under her breath.
“it was nothin’ serious, she wanted to experiment, and i happened to be the one she wanted to use as a test drive.” she drums her fingers against the steering wheel, tittering stilly at the memory and you grow uncomfortable, almost upset that she even has something to remember between her and that girl. and it looks like she doesn’t quite mind the memory either.
“that’s like what? the fifth girl you’ve let experiment with you? you’re like the community strap.” ellie looks at you, ears taking notice of the scorn in your grousing. “wow, okay did i strike a nerve somehow?”
“no, no, not at all.” you reply, and ellie watches you for a little longer, seeing that you’re not looking at her. uh huh. she hums to herself before digging through her center console. she pulls out a blunt, quickly fishing out her lighter from her pocket.
she puts it between her lips, handing you the lighter. she points it towards you, and you hold the lit lighter to the end of her blunt, and she blinks a thanks, at you. she inhales, holding it in, breathing it as much as she can, before letting it fan out. she hands it to you, and you accept.
you two pass it back and forth, taking silent drags from it until the silence turns to giggling. “i just feel like i’d be… i don’t know, bad at it? it’s been so long you know?” you admit through a fit of embarrassed giggles and ellie breathes through her’s before responding.
“couldn’t have been that long. how long has it been since you’ve kissed someone?” you suck in your lips, and she bumps your arm. “i won’t judge, i promise.” she swears, and you sigh, closing your eyes when you take in a long drag, handing it back to her when you exhale.
“the third day in the first week of senior year in highschool.” ellie just about slams on the breaks, and you jerk forward, gripping onto your seatbelt. “ellie the fuck–”
“nah dude, you what the fuck! it’s been like, 3 almost 4 years since you’ve kissed anyone?” she’s shocked, and she’s loud, and you wish you never said anything. “what happened to no judging?” you frown, taking back the blunt. “no, no i’m not judging, just…shocked no one’s kissed you in that long,” she murmurs, running her hand across your forearm.
your skin prickles up under her warm palm, and your eyes drift over to the tattoos on the arm touching you, her rolled up flannel fitting around her elbow.
you let your staring fall into her eyes. her throat bobs, and she turns away, her hand still on your arm, the other back on the steering wheel.
“where are we going?” you ask, waiting for her to answer while she’s got the blunt between her lips. “somewhere i can change that.”
your heart freezes before it beats harder than it ever has beneath your chest cavity. “what?” you breathe out and she turns to you. “only if you want,” she replies in the same breath. “okay,” you nod, squeezing the hand on your arm.
she taps the ashes out the window when she pulls up into the picnic area of a park that faces a lake.
and when she turns the keys, killing the engine, it’s too quiet, the ringing in your ears suddenly getting louder and louder.
she shifts around in her seat, fully facing you, and she leans in, the tips of her fingers tracing over the apple of your cheek.
“we don’t have to if you don’t want to, i don’t want you to feel pressured or anything,” she murmurs, her soft words fanning over your lips.
you shake your head, inching closer. “i don’t feel pressured, just nervous,” you admit, the air slowly depleting from your voice.
“i know, s’okay. i got you. come here,” her hand rests on the side of your neck, cradling you to her. she tilts her heard towards you, quickly flicking the roach out the window.
her lips are on your’s, the second you two interlock, she lets out something like a moan in your mouth, it’s quiet but filled with relief.
she wants more.
you’re holding her cheeks, pulling her in closer while her hand keeps you stuck to her, her fingers splayed along your jawline, her thumb on the side of your chin.
the sounds from your kiss fill the truck, and it does something to ellie, it does something to you.
you whimper in her mouth when her tongue pushes between your lips, flicking over yours. you hold on tighter, feeling weak when her tongue piercing grazes you.
she likes the way you cling to her, likes the way your body tells on you, making it clear you’re enjoying this as much as she is. you’re tilting your heads side to side at a slow pace, moving in closer to each other now, hands starting to wander.
the burn from a lack of air feels good, you’re slightly faint, but that’s just ellie’s effect.
her lips sponge a few times to yours before she pulls apart, light gasps for air while she rests her forehead to your’s.
“you sure you haven’t kissed anyone in awhile?” she chuckles, running her hands up and down your arms.
you giggle, pecking her lips. “yeah, i’m sure.” you breathe through your fading giggles.
“i felt your tongue piercing, i didn’t know you actually got it done,” you mention, voice still wavering, the imprint of her lips on yours tracing itself into circles over your own, and she exhales a breathless laugh, moving in nearer.
“you wanna feel it again?” she offers, words falling heavy into temptation. you don’t say anything, you just pull her back in with both hands on either side of her face.
she groans in your mouth, her hand holding you as close as can be by the back of your neck.
you’re both breathing through your noses, too enthralled by the way the other feels pressed up against each other, air feeling unimportant in comparison.
her tongue is on yours, and she slightly inches back, sucking on your bottom lip, letting it fall back in place before going back in, kissing you hard.
her hand lays on your thigh, traveling up your hip, squeezing, pulling you in closer, but you can’t get any closer than you already are.
“ellie,” you expel what little breaths you have to whisper her name. “yeah?” she mumbles, kissing at your jaw. “i wanna be closer,” your nervousness melts away little by little, and you think maybe she took it from you when you kissed.
“we can move to the back of the truck, there isn’t much more space than this in the backseat,” she swallows, pressing another peck to your lips. you nod, and she holds your hip a little tighter before you make your way out the truck.
when you both meet at the back of her truck, she looks down at you, running her thumb over your chin for a moment before pulling the trunk down.
there’s already sheets laid out and you look at her suspiciously, uhh? coming out your mouth.
“was this an elaborate scheme to get me in the back of your trunk?” you ask, knowing that even if it was, you wouldn’t have cared.
“no, oh god, joel was helping me move some shit and he laid that down so it didn’t scratch the bed of my truck i swear,” she rambles, and it’s the first time you’ve ever been the one to make her flustered.
you laugh, clambering up into the trunk. “i’m kidding ells, now hurry up it’s cold,” your knees close together, elbows supporting you upright so you can continue looking at her.
“i’ll warm you up,” she promises stilly, climbing up after you.
she closes the bed of the truck up, laying right beside you, hand holding her head while the other rests on your waist.
her hand drops from her head to rest beside yours when she leans back in to kiss you. you moan as soon as your lips touch her’s, trying to get closer and closer.
she finds herself on top of you, one leg resting under your’s while her other knee rests aside your hip, and when she leans down, sliding herself right up against you, you whimper in her mouth, struggling to kiss her back when you connect there.
the seams at the crotch of your jeans create a friction you both share, and it’s too good.
she’s grunting above you, kissing you hard and messily while she ruts her cunt against your’s, your sweet little cries fueling her, adding gas to her fire that’s already burning her skin hot.
you try to sit up, try to kiss her more, but she pushes you down, grabbing your wrists and holding them above your head.
she’s panting just inches from your face, the necklace you gifted her dangling in front of you, the silver E glimmering in the moonlight.
“can feel how wet you are from the outside of your jeans,” she breathes out a cocky chuckle, holding your wrists with one hand while the other dips beneath your tank top, her hand warm at the base of your tummy.
she lets it move up and up and up until it’s bunched at your chin, your chest bared in a cute little bra, the kind with a zipper at the front.
she lowers herself down to it, teeth latching onto the zipper, eyes peering up at you when she drags it down, sighing lowly, carnally, at the sight of your bare tits.
your shoulders try to curl on themselves shyly, but she grips tighter onto your wrists, shaking her head. “fuckin’ hot,” she mutters more to herself, ducking down and attacking one with her mouth, tongue hot and wet, swirling over your nipples, switching between the two. “ellie,” you whimper, back arching. “let me touch you,” you gasp when her teeth graze your nipple. “please?”
she obliges, releasing her hold on your wrists, and they soon fall to her short hair, weaving through the coffee strands.
she kisses down your sternum, down to the middle of your stomach, but you stop her right when she reaches the button of your jeans.
she looks up at you, rising back up to hold your cheek. “sorry, did i go too far?” she asks softly, and you shake your head, clearing away the strands from her eyes. “no, i just…i’ve never…” she gapes at you at your confession.
“you’re a virgin?” you nod, looking away. her index finger guides you by your jaw to look back at her, and she laughs airly. “that’s okay, you don’t need to be embarrassed, but if you wanna do this, i promise, i’ll make it good for you.” she creates a covenant she’s confident will go unbroken, eager to show you how good she can make you feel.
“i’m just scared i won’t… be as good as the other girl’s you’ve been with–”
“hey,” she interrupts you, her hand already resting on your inner thigh, gripping tightly. “they don’t matter. all that does is you,” she whispers into your hair, kissing the space just before your ear before she makes her way back down.
she unbuttons your jeans, pulling them all the way down after you’ve kicked your shoes off. you’re left feeling colder than when you started, but ellie is quick to fix it.
she leaves wet kisses all around your lower tummy, letting her breath fan over your dampening underwear.
a sense of pure pride resonates in her chest when she sees how wet you are, and it’s all for her.
she pushes your underwear to the side, and she sighs when she sees your bare cunt, squeezing her thighs together at the sight of you soaked.
“show me how you touch yourself,” she instructs, her voice soft, but she’s serious, stern. “what?” you ask, unsure if you heard her right. “you heard me. touch yourself. i wanna see what you do that makes you feel good.” she says silkenly, kissing your inner thigh. your breath hitches.
“ellie…” your words dwindling back into nervousness. “hey,” she moves back up, her face close to yours. “i wanna touch you the way you like, just show me what you do and i’ll take care of the rest.” she kisses her confirmation into your cheek before lowering herself back down.
you close your eyes, head resting against the bed of the truck when your fingers find themselves over your clit, rubbing familiar circles over it, feeling your hips start to twist at the light touches.
you dip down into your hole, pushing in, unable to reach the spot you desperately wish you could reach, moaning a quiet complaint, and ellie can’t get any wetter than she is as she watches you.
she could fix that little issue for you.
“did you ever think of me while you touched yourself?” she asks, her hands already starting to ready themselves at your thighs. you nod thoughtlessly, whimpering. “always wanted it to be your hands,” shifting around, the aching sensation only growing.
“so fuckin’ pretty, i’ll take care of you,” she growls, moving your hands aside and diving in as fast as she can, feeling starved yet again but for something sweeter this time.
she moans almost louder than you do once her tongue is on you. you’re shaking, hands finding purchase in the short locks of her hair, trying your best to not yank on them but it’s so hard not to.
it’s difficult trying to think clearly when she’s burying her face as far as it can go into your cunt, her tongue and lips sucking over your clit, her fingers pushing themselves into your fluttering hole.
you’re grateful there’s no one around to witness this, your naked chest, heaving with an ajar mouth flowing with endless moans, and a pretty girl between your thighs going down on you in the back of her truck.
she smacks at your thighs, gripping them hard and keeping them open, spreading you wide for her.
“ellie, fuck,” you cry out, trying to buck yourself deeper into her mouth, but she keeps you in your place, an arm pressing down on your tummy, adding even more pressure to the already intense feeling over her flicking her tongue on your clit.
your eyes roll back and all you can do is cry out her name in the most incoherent mess she’s ever heard from you.
she cups herself, trying to soothe the ache throbbing between her thighs.
but you’re the more important one, she can wait. she pushes her finger back inside you, and it’s long, you squirm when she pushes into you until she hits the knuckle.
she curls over the spongy spot inside you, almost smirking against your cunt when you just about sob.
“that feel good?” she asks breathlessly, mouth wet from your slick when she looks up at you, her wrist still moving, finger still deep in you, fucking you. “uh huh,” you nod pathetically watery eyes barely able to look back at her. “feels sooo good ellie, so good,” you slur, head falling back while you grind down onto her.
“good, baby that’s the goal,” she says lowly, a chuckle somewhere in her words, her lips grazing over your clit when she speaks.
you shudder, trying to have more of her. she keeps her forearm firm atop your stomach, too busy eating you out for you to move away, she’s waited too long and you’re not gonna squirm away from it.
you’re panting, clawing at the sheet you’re laying on top of, legs buckling around ellie, but she doesn’t care, she lets your thighs encase her, she loves the feeling. her tongue piercing rolling over your clit is too much, but it’s so good, you want more.
cries of ellie’s name leave past your bitten lips, falling one after the other, and it makes ellie feel near animalistic, she wants her name and her tongue to be the only things you can say and feel. you buck your hips just right, you meet the thrusts of her finger, eyes squeezing the tears gathering at your lashes.
she rises from between your thighs, her finger staying put inside you. she wants to watch your face when she adds in a second. your back arches, thighs trembling around her wrist when she inches in her index finger.
you whimper, holding at her flexing bicep and she shushes you, thumbing over your clit to ease you into it.
“you can take it babe,” she murmurs, kissing your forehead. “s’much,” you hiccup, and she kisses you gently, her words airing out over your lips. “i know, but if you can take my fingers you’ll be able to take my strap,” you tighten around her fingers at her proffers, and she notices, laughing ardently, curling her fingers in deeper.
“yeah,” she leans down, her nose against your cheek, lips by your ear. “knew you’d like that.”
her thumb rubs circles over your clit, her fingers working inside you too well, you can barely take it, you’re pulling ellie down to kiss you, and she obliges, holding your face with her free hand. the wet slick sound eliciting from your cunt, makes her kiss you harder, so eager and thrilled to finally be touching you like this, and even more excited knowing she’s got you this soaked for her.
“wanna cum,” you whine into her skin, and she ducks back down between your thighs, her lips wrapping around your clit, replacing her thumb. you cry loudly, grinding down into her mouth, greedily trying to soak up every flick of her tongue, every graze from her piercing.
“let me taste it baby, cmon let it out,” she coaxes it out of you, her lips sucking over your clit just right, her fingers never relenting inside you, finally satisfying you in ways you could never accomplish before.
your head whips side to side, back twitching up and down, unable to contain any moans and loud sobs of ellie’s name, the pressure in your tummy bursting and spreading all throughout the entirety of your body. you roll your hips into her, panting, gasping, trying to keep up with her but your body can’t take it, can’t take how much she’s giving you. it feels like your orgasm isn’t ending. ellie won’t let it.
“ellie please,” you whine, trying to wriggle away from her, but her grip only tightens.
she removes her fingers, letting her tongue do all the work. you push her away, but she doesn’t budge. “you’re right there baby, give me one more, i know you can,” she has more faith in you than you do yourself, but you can never say no to ellie.
you endure the burning stimulation rippling under your skin, throbbing through your cunt. you’re freely crying, whining, pleading with ellie, but she doesn’t let up, she can’t just have a taste of your cunt and be one and done, she needs more.
the pressure rebuilds itself, soon to crumble in on its foundation, and you can’t believe it’s about to happen again, it hurts, but you don’t want it to stop either. all you can do is take it, babbling mindlessly while ellie devours you whole.
you’re cumming with a loud cry, the inability to stay still doesn’t affect ellie in the slightest, her strong arms keep you planted still, leaving you inescapable from her tongue. she laps you up, taking you all in, gently grazing her teeth over your clit and chuckling when you shiver.
you can’t stop shaking, your cunt is still buzzing, you can feel every swirl of ellie’s tongue over your clit, her fingers still buried inside you, and the muscle memory makes you twitch when it hits you extra hard.
she holds you in close, ridding herself of her flannel to drape over you. “y’did so good for me, taste so sweet,” she whispers, watching as you cocoon yourself in her arms, head falling heavy in her chest. you’re still trying to remember how to breathe, pressing soft kisses to the base of her neck.
“you feel okay?” she asks, quietly, leaning down to check on you, and you nod, humming happily. you crawl out of her arms and on top of her, hands on her shoulders, and she has to fight to maintain eye contact instead of just staring at your chest in front of her.
“i wanna make you feel good too,” you’re not sure if it’s the weed or the high from the back to back orgasms that’s making you this bold, but you go along with it anyway, the curiosity and hunger for how ellie would taste is what really enables it all.
her hands fall to your waist, and she looks up at you with an excited challenge in her eyes. “oh yeah?” she asks, mhmm, leaving your lips.
“you sure? there’s no like, obligation–” it’s your turn to interrupt ellie.
“ellie,” you lean down. “i’ve wanted to eat you out for as long as i’ve known you. there’s no sense of obligation here,” you whisper, and ellie gapes at you, laughing out of disbelief, but she’d be lying if she said that didn’t make her clit throb.
she holds your sides, turning you flat on your back, her knees on either side of you now. “yeah? okay, i’ll give you what you want,” she mutters, unbuttoning and unzipping her pants, leaving them to the side where your’s are.
“gonna let me sit on your face?” she asks, her nose brushing against your’s and your throat tightens with anticipation. “i’ve never..”
“i know baby, but i’ll do all the work, you just listen to me okay?” you nod, mouthing a quiet “okay.”
she’s left in her wife beater and calvin klein boxers, you feel weak at the sight, trying to take a mental image of it for later. when she rids herself of her boxers, you swallow hard, eyes landing over her pussy. it’s so pretty. you think adoringly when she levels herself above your mouth.
she rubs her clit in front of you, and you moan just under your breath.
she grabs your wrists, holding them back over your head when she lowers herself down onto you. your tongue is quick to find her clit, and she gasps an oh shit, her forehead resting at the back window of her truck, starting to grind her hips down onto your tongue.
it’s been awhile since ellie’s done this, and she forgot how intense it feels, the source of pleasure directly pointed into her cunt radiates into her entire body, and she tries to steady herself, tries to not immediately fuck your face.
your nose rubs side to side over her clit and she groans, back arching and hips swiveling down into your mouth.
“shit,” she winces, forcing her eyes to open and look at you, taking her cunt so well, eating her like she’s the most important thing you’ve ever had to taste.
which she is in your book. nothing could be more important than ellie’s cunt on your tongue.
“you look good like this,” she comments through a breathless laugh, rolling her hips down onto your tongue, shuddering when you curl the tip of it right over her clit.
“you’re fucking good at this,” she whines, and your clit throbs at the sound, moaning into her with contentment. you understand now why ellie couldn’t pull herself from your cunt.
now that she’s on your face, you never want to let her get off.
“so good for me, so fucking good,” she pants, her hand falling back when she releases your wrists, gripping onto the sheet under her.
your hands wander all over her sides, finding themselves under her wife beater, squeezing at her chest. you pinch at her pebbled nipples, feeling cocky yourself now when she whimpers, buckling further into your mouth.
you settle on her hips, your arms holding her thighs down to have more of her. you drink her in, tongue licking her up, and down, swirling over her clit like clockwork.
“fuck, suck on it, yeah, just like that,” she falls forward, arm leaning against the back of her truck while she fucks herself on your tongue, starting to feel herself grow sporadic when your lips envelope her clit, flickering over the sensitive button over and over.
“gonna cum, gonna, shit!” her thighs tremble on either side of your head, but you keep her still, supporting her with a firm hold on her thighs, tongue never relenting in her. she gasps, shaking while she lets you milk her dry of her orgasm.
it prickles into a hot pain mixed with the best feeling she’s ever felt, but it’s more she can take, and she struggles to clamber off of you, falling on her ass beside you.
she grabs you, pulling you on top of her, holding you by the back of your head, her other hand resting low on your back when she kisses you hard. she breathes in your air, tongue colliding and you moan in unison when you taste each other.
when she pulls away, your foreheads stay together, sharing quiet gasps. “virgin my ass,” she chuckles and your face gets hot, burying it in her neck. she lets you drift to the side of her, she keeps you close, running her hand up and down your back, your bare chest concealed by hiding it into her side.
“i guess now’s as good as any time to confess that i’ve liked you for longer than i’d like to admit.” you mumble, somehow still feeling shy after all that’s happened.
she smiles, her chin pointing towards the top of your head when she shifts to look at you.
“i was hoping you did. i didn’t wanna just assume you liked girls and get my feelings hurt, so i just… never did anything about it.” she admits, and you punch her shoulder playfully, your heart pounding in your throat at her confessions.
“ellie! you should have said something, i was pining after you thinking i never had a chance!” and she cups your face, her thumb grazing over your bottom lip. “that’s exactly how i felt,” she chuckles and you grumble, leaning deeper into her.
“i wish you said something,” you repeat quietly, and she sighs, nodding.
“do you wanna be my girlfriend?” she asks softly, and you beam at her, slipping an arm under her’s, hugging her tight. “of course i do,” you reply, words under the same blanketed softness. she holds your chin, leaning down to kiss you with a newfound delicateness.
“good, because i would’ve kept asking until you said yes.” she jokes and you laugh, shaking your head. “i’d never say no to you.”

Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had been at least a week subsequently after the eminent disaster of a break-up both you and Ellie had shared, everyone had remembered what they were doing when the argument had disrupted and people had believed that it would be impossible for the both of you to get back together, rude words were being exchanged, one side of the connection jealous and the other defensive.
It couldn’t be denied that both parties should’ve controlled their behaviour and responses, but Ellie had believed that she had been as patient as she could be when it came to you, she had desperately tried to be, but it was difficult when everyone swooned over you, when everyone radically wanted to get into your pants and what made it worse was that you didn’t necessarily play their game but you would giggle at every person who’d flirt with you.
Though as a week passed, you had made hints that you wanted to reconcile and conciliate with Ellie and she was up for it.
Today was your birthday, and you were throwing a gathering at your place, and much people would arrive, specifically people who shared the same age you, you had recently turned nineteen and next year you would have to turn twenty, it scared you shitless, but it made you feel better that you had loyal and honourable friends that would be by you every step.
It would be two hours before the party started but already there was much booze and weed scattered around the surroundings and you had loud music Maria would sure complain about the next day. You had been dressed in a tight attire, a garment that had flattered your physique and make-up that had exalted your features; plus, Dina and Jesse had arrived an hour before your party started to help you set up the rest of your decorations.
You had given them pre-drinks to set them in the mood which they had happily drank, Dina wasn’t one to drink all the time but since it was your birthday, she had given in. “You look sexy,” Dina forwardly complimented as she examined your outfit you had carefully picked out, you were one to have nice clothes by any means, you actually had much people ask to borrow your clothes from time to time.
“Thank you,” you attentively thanked with grace and beckoned your head towards Jesse as a sign of hello.
“Is Ellie coming over?” Jesse asked and you had thought that him hanging around with Dina had caused him to become too blunt compared to his usual self.
“Yeah, she’s coming,” you simply replied as you finished your task of decorating whilst Dina began her course.
You had figured they had wanted to speak about what had happened between you and Ellie, and you were too unbothered to stop them, so you had allowed Dina and Jesse to roll in their questions and comments. “People still speak about the argument you and Ellie had because of that guy.”
You had furrowed your eyebrows, you had moved on from the situation, but people in Jackson consistently loved to gossip. “I remember how angry Ellie was when you two were breaking up, it wasn’t a pretty sight,” Jesse joked as he slumped himself down on your sofa, you had rolled your eyes at him and towards Ellie’s precedent behaviour, she was one to get quickly riled up, sometimes you had felt like you were walking on egg-shells when you were with her.
“Well, Ellie needs to work on her jealousy, insecurities and anger,” you shrugged.
“Well, you need to stop purposely getting Ellie jealous then,” Dina commented, which you had thought was rich for her to say.
“All I do is be hot and she’s mad,” you joked, “plus, the guy wasn’t even my type.”
They had both laughed but you were being honest, the guy Ellie had gotten angry at you about was not so much as close to what you would want in a guy. You were just being friendly, perchance too friendly for Ellie’s liking but she had no reason to blow up like that in front of everyone, she had embarrassed you and made you look like something you were not, a cheat.
In spite of the trio laughing and bickering amongst each other, to a greater extent, people had started to arrive to your birthday party and every time someone had knocked on your front door you had wished it was your auburn-haired ex behind the door, but you had been quietly disappointed when you have been proved other-wise numerous of times.
As time passed on, you had accepted your defeat and wallowed within the conversations and danced, there had been moments you danced with Dina and comically pranced and played with Jesse and Dina while uncontrollably drinking booze you had been continuously offered.
You had then been alerted by someone who had heavily knocked on your front door, it was loud, but you couldn’t complain since the music you had blasted was louder, you had unsealed the door to be met with Ellie, she had appeared more cleaner than you had last seen her, and she had radiated the tough and fierce steaminess you had always been drawn to.
“Hey,” you choked out, surprised that Ellie had in point of fact arrived to your birthday gathering, she had hesitatingly brought you into an embrace, another operation you had been taken aback with.
“Hey,” Ellie kindly whispered, during the moment she had pulled away from you, she had briskly examined the outfit you had clothed yourself with, which had silently developed into a stance of desire, she was impressed by how you were always able to pull of whatever you wore.
“I didn’t think you would come,” you shyly spoke only to be responded with a shocked look composed on the freckled girl’s face.
“Why wouldn’t I?” Ellie curiously inquired as she stepped into your cabin and took off her jacket which had unveiled the outfit, she was clothed in.
You had closed the door, confused by Ellie’s aghast nature. “Um, one it’s because you turned up late so I didn’t think you would come, and two, because of what happened last week, you were really angry.”
“Well,” Ellie began as she rebounded to look at you, “I hope we can push it past us.”
You had gently slumped your shoulders, if you were being outright plain, you would have rather push it past the both of you and enjoy the celebration.
You had guided Ellie to the function where people were slow dancing and downing more beverage you had provided.
You had sat down beside Ellie after you had chaperoned cuisine and eatables for the guests who hurriedly took as much food they could. The fare had calmed down the company who joined both you and Ellie; they sat down and enjoyed the aura and efficiency of the party while the music that once played loudly was slowly dialled down to a state where it was comfortable for everyone.
Everyone had then been engaged in a conversation began by Dina whilst Ellie had comfortably immersed herself with pre-rolled weed you had perfectly handled. You had your arm linked with Ellie’s free arm yet engaged with other people’s questions and comments.
“Wait are you and Ellie back together?”
The simple and facile questioned had been bulky and laden enough for Ellie to feel a closed tightness in her chest, she awkwardly tightened the connection she had around your arm in anticipation and buoyancy you would answer with the reply she had wished for. You had stared at the guest who had urged to know about the bond between you and Ellie; and you had just awkwardly smiled. A breathy laugh emerged from your lips whilst you gracelessly shuffled on your seat.
“No.”
Furthermore, what had made it worse for Ellie was the look you had on your face, as if the guest’s question was bizarre. Speedily, Ellie had let go of your arm and had comforted herself as she rebounded on smoking the pre-rolled blunt. She had genuinely believed and adhered things were getting better between the both of you; she had gently clicked her tongue; how stupid and idiotic she had been. To think you would expeditiously fall back into her arms when she turned up to your party. How could she? With the way she had treated and spoken to you that night, of course you wouldn’t willingly come back to her.
Dina and Jesse had caught the unsatisfied look Ellie had all over her face and you hadn’t bothered to look at Ellie who had deeply pouted at your carefree behaviour. The couple had thought Ellie was on the verge of saying something, but she didn’t.
Tumblr media
Time had passed and currently people had begun to leave, and you had dreaded the fact that you’ll wake up the next day with a hangover but having to do much cleaning. Dina and Jesse were one of the last ones to leave, the remaining guests being Ellie who comfortably but awkwardly still sat on the spot she had been for the past hours.
“Why are you still here?” You had questioned, sincerely suspicious to why Ellie had decided to remain in your cabin.
Ellie had sat up, her mind cloudy and convoluted to the previous events. “Well, I didn’t want to storm out and make a scene after you made it seem like that person was nuts for asking if we were back together.”
“That’s a surprise because you’re always one to make a scene,” you plainly joked ere you had given yourself the idea to begin to clean up some of the mess that was left by the previous company, back turned towards Ellie who had her mouth open, bothered by your casual and indifferent persona.
“You can be so oblivious, and you don’t realise your behaviour hurts people.”
Finally, you had turned around once again, face very expressive with an entertained and satiate mask. With a sagged bin bag in your hand, you had gently put down the canister bag and forwardly looked at your ex-partner. “You really thought things were going to get better that quick?” You thoroughly asked, face analytical and meddlesome enough to rub Ellie the wrong way. “The way you behaved last week hurt me, because it showed that you don’t trust me, like at all.”
“Then, I’m sorry,” Ellie roughly apologised, disappointed in all aspects that had brought them into this position. You, herself and the guy. “I was insecure, because you are someone who has everyone wrapped around your finger and you can easily move on to someone new if I do the slightest thing wrong.”
“But that has never happened though?” You complained, your shoulders had dropped, unhappy that the bond between you and Ellie would never function the same like old times. “You know if you actually want this relationship to work you have to work on your jealousy,” you muttered before you rebounded on picking on dirty items to put in the binbag, “amongst other things.”
Eventually, humoured, Ellie pushed out a breathy laugh, ashamed and penitent that she had even come to your birthday party. “Well, maybe I’ll start that after you stop flirting with everything that breathes in your direction.”
You had remained silent, calm and hushed to her curt words, withal, your quietness was enough to bear tension. “I’m sorry,” once more, Ellie briskly apologised as she set herself in her habit of playing with her fingers whenever she had felt apprehensive.
“Just get the fuck out Ellie,” you tiredly whispered, you had suddenly ached the warmth of your bed so you can sleep and forget about what had just happened, although, you had forgotten how stubborn Ellie could be.
“Wait---no, I’m sorry, it just came out---”
“That can’t be your excuse every time you say something mean. You always attempt to cover up your harsh ways as a moment of unhappiness when it’s just usually something you’ve always wanted to say.” Frustrated you had walked towards the unsealed front door of your cabin and briskly opened the exit which had loudly implied that you had wanted to her to go in an instant.
Unhappily, she had put her hand on her hips as she walked towards the door, however, before she attempted to leave, she turned to look at you, her face regretful and ashamed of her irrational behaviour. “[Y/N] …look, can we just talk about---”
“There’s nothing to talk about,” you sternly cut off, your scrutiny avoidant of Ellie’s stare which was deeply fixed into your skin, her hazel-green eyes were always so steel-like that it unceasingly made you nervous. Nonetheless, Ellie had hoped that you would look at her one last time before she left, but as you have consistently done, you had ravaged her wish and left her hopeless. As her hands left her hips, she had dishonourably left your premises, sure that she would over anticipate about what she could’ve done or said that would’ve detoured the current circumstance.

Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy - Jesse x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Jesse and Y/N are in a secret relationship that has you two always trying to rile each other up until you’re hot and bothered
Words: 2.3K
Warnings: Smut; not much plot, mostly smut; lots of fluff too obvs
Notes: IT’S BEEN ADDED TO; I’m going to write one for Joel and Tommy with the same title
Y/N’s POV
“Have you heard of save a horse, ride a cowboy?” A sultry sweet voice appears beside me, having me turn away from the conversation I was having with Ellie while waiting for our drinks. It’s a kid not much younger than me leaning against the bar with a coy smile. It sends shivers up my spine, this kid very much not my type with his pasty white skin and messy blonde hair, blue eyes bright and beady as if they’re trying to undress me where he stands. He’s just in it for the sex. Ellie and I get it all the time being kids of the Miller brothers - if you’re in with the Millers you’re practically royalty so of course it doesn’t hurt to bruise his ego a little.
Our drinks are put down and Ellie grabs them, knowing I’m not going to go sleep with his guy. I do play along with him, pressing the palm of my hand on his chest as if feeling him up, flicking my eyes up to his in the most flirty way I can before leaning close and whispering, “Sorry sugar, you’re not the cowboy I plan on riding tonight.” Eyes burn into my back and I know exactly who it is so I’m gripping Ellie’s wrist and pulling her away while the kid hurls an insult or two at me. Those familiar dark eyes finding mine, anger and lust in them as we approach the booth.
“What did you say to him?” Ellie asks as we sit down opposite Dina and Jesse with Dina glancing at Jesse worriedly as he’s holding his glass a little tight. I can’t help the smirk that finds its way to my lips so I just causally take a long sip of my drink, not sure what it is. Tastes like a sweetened cider but it’s what I always have and I fucking love it.
“He’s not the cowboy I plan on riding tonight.” I shrug and Jesse spits out his drink while Dina and Ellie laugh, little do they know Jesse’s eyeing me up hungrily now with no anger in his umber eyes anymore. We’ve been together for months now but aren’t quite ready to tell anyone about us which leads to a fun game of who can rile up the other the most before we’re back at either of our houses. Then we’re attached to each other which is expected as I’d say we’re still in the honeymoon phase of our relationship and I fucking love it, hoping we stay like this forever just ya know… with others knowing instead but I’ll wait as long as needed as I love him so much.
The way he rakes his eyes down my body over the rim of his glass has me hot and bothered and I’m downing the last of my drink, standing up and telling them “I think I’m gonna go find that cowboy now.”
Ellie and Jesse chortle their goodbyes while Dina yells after me to find them later to gossip about this cowboy. It has me laughing giddily as I practically break into a sprint once outside, heading straight to mine, unlocking the door and kicking my shoes off, hanging my jacket up and waiting. It doesn’t take long, maybe ten, fifteen minutes, before my door is opening and Jesse’s lanky frame appears. He makes quick work of his shoes and jacket before stalking over to me until my back hits the wall and his velvety lips are on mine in a hungry kiss that has me mewling. His hands are on my hips, holding me in place to stop me bucking up for friction as his lips migrate to that sweet spot just below my jaw.
He bites, hard, before soothing it with his tongue and I’m mewling, his name falling from my lips as I tip my head back to give him more access. A satisfied sound rumbles in his chest as those nimble fingers begin unbuttoning my shirt, lips trailing down my neck and past the valley of my breasts, going lower and lower until he’s sinking to his knees. My thighs squeeze together in anticipation, core aching and needing him so badly.
“You’ve been teasing me all night, dancing with Dina and swinging those beautiful hips.” Jesse growls against my hip, teeth grazing the sensitive flesh as he pops the button on my jeans. It has my hips moving forwards for some friction but he presses the palm of one hand against my abdomen, tsking as he shimmies my jeans down my legs with one hand, doing it so slowly it’s almost painful and that ache between my legs getting worse as I whine. He doesn’t take his time with my soaked underwear, practically ripping them from my legs, “I’ll trade for more I promise.” He soothes when he throws the now torn fabric across the room.
“Jesse! O-oh fuck!” My hand flies to his hair when he parts my folds then delves in like a starved man, lips latching onto the nub that has me jolting. The pleasure radiates through my whole body when he begins to explore, tongue licking bold stripes up my folds before he pushes it into my throbbing mound. It’s as if he steals all the air from my lungs, my hips rolling into every thrust until he’s holding me back against the wall, his moan vibrating through my whole body.
It doesn’t take long for that feeling to begin bubbling up, my thighs shaking with the effort of trying to stay standing as his nose bumps my clit and he’s drawing moans and whimpers from me, my hand tugging at his hair as my hips fight to rock into his movements. His name falls from my lips in a whimper when my walls begin to flutter around his tongue and my eyes roll back into my head when his fingers begin to rub circles into my clit, my whole body tensing as I ride out wave after wave of pleasure and my mind going blank.
“Sweetheart,” Jesse’s back on his feet, body pressed against mine and fingers under my chin, guiding me into a hot and dirty kiss. Tasting myself on his lips should be disgusting but it just turns me on again, that ache coming back and I’m pulling him closer, my hands tugging at his shirt as he’s wearing too many layers. He complies and my hands fly to his jeans, unbuttoning them and pushing them down far enough for his girthy length to spring out, slapping against his stomach with the head weeping for attention. I go to sink to my knees, reciprocating the act but Jesse’s grabbing my thighs and whispering for me to jump so I do, wrapping my legs around his waist.
My nails dig into Jesse’s shoulders as he slowly slides me down until he’s bottoming out, his head falling onto my shoulder as he waits for me to adjust, panting against my neck hot and heavy. It’s dizzying how breathless he leaves me, how he can leave me yearning more from just a single touch and the glide of his dick against my walls has my back arching. His name falls from my lips like a prayer as he grinds his hips up into me, causing a delicious friction against my clit but I want more. I need more. I’m wrapping my legs around his waist tighter and tugging at his hair so I can draw him into a messy kiss that has us both breathless. It’s like we’re one, understanding each other without having to say a single word as he feels the want and hunger for more too, his pace becoming rougher and faster but, with no much love and passion.
“Fuck, Jesse,” I’m panting head flung back as he grips my hips, forcing me down to meet every thrust up with my back pressed against the wall. My shirt is open and my hair a mess, bare skin littered with hickeys and bites. Jesse’s hair plastered to his forehead, umber eyes almost black with lust and I’m hoping that glimmer in them is love but I’m too far gone to really think about it too much. His bare chest is shining with a light sheen of sweat, just as bitten and bruised as mine with a few extra scratches adorning his back and his lips oh so kiss swollen. Everything is hot and sensitive and I don’t think I can handle round three when he wraps those long and delicate fingers around my throat, causing my eyes to roll back as my legs tighten around his waist.
“That’s it baby, you’re doing so good.” He’s cooing, thrusts getting sloppier the more I clench around him.
“Hey Y/N, have you seen Jesse? I-AHHH FUCK!” Jesse freezes, my eyes flying open to see Ellie standing in the doorway, hand still on the door handle and mouth dropped open in shock. None of us knowing how to react to this as no one knows about me and Jesse, we wanted to keep it a secret for a little while longer but now that plans out the window with the way Ellie continues to stare before yelling, “USE THE FUCKING BEDROOM NOT THE LIVING ROOM.”
“It’s my house!” I snap back, frustrated that I’m on the brink of bliss, Jesse twitching against that sweet, sweet spot as he’s got his face buried in the crook of my neck in embarrassment, “Get out!”
“We’ll be at mine, see you soon.” There’s a knowing smile on her lips before she’s gone with the click of the door. I don’t have time to do anything before Jesse slams up into me one last time, biting a new hickey under my jawline as I feel him fill me up and it causes me to follow him, body tense as wave after wave of pure ecstasy ripples through me until I’m slumping against his chest. He just holds me, trailing sweet kisses from my jawline and up my cheek until he’s drawing me into a lazy kiss.
“Should we face the music?” He mumbles into the kiss, a soft sigh escaping him as he slips out and helps me stay standing with a strong arm around my waist as my legs shake.
“Shower, ” I mumble back, rest my forehead against his chest and he seems to agree by the light rumble in his chest, “Then I’ll face Ellie and Dina.”
He hums, lips against my neck as he walks me backwards towards the bathroom but we don’t make it that far, the back of my legs hitting the edge of the bed as he murmurs, “Thought you planned on riding a cowboy.”
“Hmmmm, maybe I will.”
It’s enough for him to push onto the bed, climbing over me and pressing open kisses along my neck and any bare skin he can find. I’m so enthralled by this man I’d do anything for him and I know it’s vice versa, the way his hands trail over my skin it makes me feel like the prettiest person in the world. It makes me shy every time he sees me, the way he looks at me, deep eyes full of emotions that make me weak at the knees and I want to just disappear unable to process the feeling in my chest. Jesse’s going it now, leaning on his right forearm to prop himself as he just watches me, featherlight touches skimming up and down my stomach and legs before he’s leaning in as if to kiss me but he stops centimetres away, whispering, “I love you.”
Those three words are paralysing, stealing the air from my lungs in a different way as he waits to see how I respond to him whispered honesty. My body doesn’t know whether to cry or kiss him so I opt for the latter, my hands tangling in his already messy hair and yanking him down into a passionate kiss before mumbling those three words back against his lips. He’s smiling into it now, the kiss turning intense as if we’ll die without the other. Hands exploring each other as we just take in this new feeling, this new passion and this new love, wanting it to last forever.
Everything is slow and full of love this time when Jesse rolls us over so I’m on top, the way his eyes trail over my body, thumbs rubbing circles into my hips and his bottom lip between his teeth. Those umber orbs flick back up to mine as he slowly begins to move my hips, folds sliding over his hard length and coating it in my juices, teasing us both until neither of us can wait much longer. He slides in with ease and we both let out a breath as he bottoms out, everything feeling different this time and more intense somehow. I begin to grind my hips against his, watching the way his eyes slip shut and his hands tighten on my hips trying to just hold me in place and a moan escapes his parted lips.
“Baby girl,” He whimpers, forcing his eyes open to meet mine, “I want this to last.”
I get it, I want this to last too, leaning down to press a sweet kiss to his lips in understanding. The angle causes him to slip out a little so he’s pushing me back up and this time he hits that bundle of nerves and I’m tightening around him in pleasure and he’s hissing. The ache is too much for me not to move so slowly, I raise myself until just the tip is still inside me before sinking all the way back down. It doesn’t take long for us to find a rhythm, my hands splayed across his chest for balance and his hands are around my wrists, having moved from my hips to give me free rein. I’m not going to last long with the way I’m already fluttering around him and he’s not far behind, dick twitching with every slide but I want to savour this so I swap back to grinding.
“Fuck,” I’m panting, my thighs burning as they clamp against Jesse’s sides, arms giving way and I’m collapsing on top of him. He moves his arms to wrap around me as he thrusts up into me a few more times before his hips are stuttering and he’s drawing me into a open mouthed kiss and I think I come again from the feeling of him filling me up, “I love you Jesse.”
“I love you too Y/N.” He murmurs back, both of spent and sated and ready for sleep, Ellie and Dina long forgotten along with the locking of my front door as I roll off of him. He just pulls me to him and grabs the end of the duvet, tucking us in before he’s kissing my forehead and we let ourselves drift off with the knowing that we’re in love.
