Can we talk about the parallel between Guillermo's turning and un-turning.

His turning went so wrong, it wasn't what he wanted at all. We know our crazy, dramatic baby. He wanted a ceremony, he wanted it to be romantic and soft, he wanted vows and sacred words. He wanted to slowly expose his neck, he wanted whispered words, he wanted to feel safe and cherished. He wanted to be asked and be held and be seen and be accepted.

What he got instead was a badly lit horrifying ordeal. He had to take charge. Derek had no idea what he was doing. It happened in a backroom of a store, they kept getting interrupted by Derek's boss asking him to clean out toilets. Derek fucked up his bite. He almost died. "Have you done this before". Derek fainting. Blood everywhere. Anticlimactic, disappointing, not at all the culmination of his life long dream, of decades of service and love.

His un-turning on the other hand.

Oh Nandor knows him. He made up a ritual for him with a suitably dramatic name: "The Ceremony of Vampiric Transmogrification". He dressed him in robes which he put on him so softly and spoke to him so kindly beforehand. He got all the other vampires ready for him. He hung banners and lit candles. He wrote and spoke vows and sacred words to him. He gave him a choice and asked him a question. And when he got his answer he took charge and made sure everything went exactly as it should. He made Guillermo feel seen and loved and accepted, even if it broke his heart.

Emmrich is, unquestionably in my mind, so very into foreplay. Emmrich drops to his knees so fast that he'll be sporting bruises for the next week. He tears Rook's pants down with enough force that Rook almost unbalances; Rook has to rest their hands on his shoulders to stay upright. Emmrich lets out a moan at his first taste of them, and he doesn't pause for air once, his mouth almost frantic in his eagerness.

He'll soon learn that his iron self-control means very little when it comes to Rook-- and he'll love every minute of it.

still not over caleb having spell mastery of fortune's favor. he's a wizard living and working in the heart of the empire, who's likely still very judicious with his use of dunamancy in front of others, and yet he chose that spell to cast without effort, a little piece of the dynasty that he still carries as one of the first spells essek ever taught him. you can't tell me this isn't the wizard equivalent of keeping a picture of your boyfriend in your wallet

You know how Superman can super-change into his outfits? Do you think that if they’re in a rush, Bruce taught him all the ins and outs of the batsuit so he can change them both at super speed? Like no matter how fast that guy has taught himself how to get in and out of that thing (because you know he has) sometimes it has to be literally instant.

It’s like an insane show of trust, not many people know all the little tiny details that get updated every few months, the close batfamily might know how to take of pieces in case of emergency and the exact contents and placements of his belt, but Clark has a lot of hands on experience and the symbolism of him putting Bruce’s cowl on for him is neat too.
