More pjo/hoo headcanons
Apollo kids exclusively work out with musics as a cabin, but they always argue about the playlist that should be chosen. Will uses councillor privilege to force them to pick country.
The Athena cabin has a projector for sure
Also, they have youtube premium because of lofi music
Apollo kids have been banned from using guns in training with others (they recreated the ten duel commandments from Hamilton and actually ended up shooting without missing the target. Now, they can only shoot on regular targets, not living ones)
Hephaestus and Athena kids are a living proof of the "an architect's dream is an engineer's nightmare" thing
There is definitely an Athena kid out there that hates math with a burning passion. Their mom isn't very happy about that.
Despite their rivalry, many Apollo kids have Ares cabin bffs - after all, they spend lots of time in the infirmary
Ares kids usually have a great relationship with their father - he is surprisingly encouraging and supportive
Will can definitely ride a horse and you can't convince me otherwise
Also. His mom has a yellow pickup truck with tons of stickers and a guitar on the backseat
Sally refused to use the subway ever since Percy was born (you know how the underground always smells like monsters and that's why Grover didn't notice the chimera? That was exactly why)
Percy used to cry in the seafood section of stores, especially if it had anything living there
Athena kids can achieve Eminem speed during debate, I will not elaborate any further
Oh also. They're not straight As kids, or at least not all of them, especially the older ones. I mean, the school system vs learning disorders? There's no way they're winning that fight entirely. They probably have the subjects they like and ace, and then the subject that are just there, and since they're not failing, they don't really care (yes this is about me getting a C from physics again, I hate physics)
Annabeth loves the "further is for physical distance, farther for metaphorical and father for emotional" tumblr post
Hera's cabin has a family portrait of the olympians, it's quite a bittersweet sight
Let Demeter kids have a scythe as their weapon of choice pls
Athena kids make so many lame nerd puns. Occasionally, a Hephaestus kid or a secret nerd will laugh.
Athena kids are definitely the type to fight the teacher about their grade. They will gather evidence that their answer is technically correct and either impress or annoy the teacher so much they will actually change their grade
All Athena kids have a resting bitch face (just like Hermes kids have a face that says they're troublemakers)
Hermes kids are naturally skilled at orientation on a map and in terrain
Hephaestus and Hermes cabin have once held a lock-picking competition (based on speed but also the amount of damage caused)
Every single person in the Athena cabin has seen both Dead Poets Society and School of Rock (and loved it)
For an absolutely nonexistent reason I think the Aphrodite cabin has some pro tip for washing blood out of clothes and stuff
Very stereotypical of me but in the Ares cabin, the strongest is the leader and their word is law, if you disagree, you gotta participate in a one on one fight of choice (it doesn't matter that much if you win, at least you still prove your bravery and the courage to stand up for what you believe in). Meanwhile, the Athena cabin votes on everything. And yes, they are proud of it. And yes, they have senate level debates where everyone uses whatever dirt they have on the others to win (because they probably know too much gossip without even really intending to) sometimes. Only sometimes.
Also. They have ostrakism which is basically a thing where you break a pot/vase/something, each person gets a piece and carves on the name of someone who is endangering democracy in their option. The person with the most votes gets chased out I think. Athena kids have changed up that part, they simply ban that person from voting for 6 months.
Athena kids with learning disorders. That's all I want to say.
Mentioning my previous 'Athena cabin has a Pallas cat' headcanon
Also Athena kids are the people who will point out historical stuff behind the names of places or companies (example: my country has a shopping centre called palladium, i instill the lore of the original palladium on anyone unfortunate enough to be there with me)
Apollo kids personalise their instruments - stickers, paint, carved initials, cool straps and other accessories, you name it!
They also have a whole row of those instrument hangers, yk what i mean?

So if y’all aren’t caught up with the shooting this morning:
Today, in Nashville, Tennessee, a 28 year old trans man broke into and opened fire on a Christian Elementary School.
According to CNN:
“Here's what we know so far:
About Covenant School: The school is a private Christian school founded in 2001 as a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church. It has an average enrollment of about 200 people in recent years, according to its website, and it teaches preschool through 6th grade.
What happened: Don Aaron, spokesperson for the Metro Nashville Police Department, said the first calls of an active shooting came in at around 10:15 a.m. local time. When officers arrived, they went through the first level of the building, he said. They then heard gunshots coming from the second level of the building, according to Aaron. He said that's where police confronted and killed the shooter at 10:27 a.m. local time.
The shooter: The shooter has been identified as 28-year-old Nashville resident Audrey Hale. The shooter was armed with a handgun and two AR-style weapons — one a rifle and an AR-style pistol, Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake said. Two of those may have been obtained legally and locally in Nashville, Drake said. According to initial findings, the shooter was once a student at the school, he added, though he said police are unsure what years.
Prior planning: The shooter had drawn detailed maps of Covenant School, Drake said, including the entry points to the building and detailing "how this was all gonna take place." Drake said police believe the shooter shot through one of the doors to get into the school. Drake said the school was the only location targeted by the shooter. Police have also located a manifesto that they are reviewing.
The victims: The three students who were shot and killed at Covenant School were all 9 years old, police said. They have been identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, according to police. Three adults were also killed in the shooting. They have been identified as 61-year-old Cynthia Peak, 60-year-old Katherine Koonce and 61-year-old Mike Hill, police said.
What's next: Police will spend the next two days processing the scene and working to gather more details about what happened during a shooting at a Nashville elementary school, Aaron said, adding police also intend to release video soon. Officials said they knew where the shooter lived and they have interviewed the shooter's father.
Call for gun safety legislation: President Joe Biden called the shooting at a Nashville school "heartbreaking, a family's worst nightmare," while advocating for gun reform. Biden said Congress needs to pass an assault weapons ban because we "need to do more to protect our schools." However, a bipartisan solution is extremely unlikely this Congress with a slim Democratic majority in the Senate and a GOP-led House. Nashville Mayor John Cooper said too many children are dying from guns and that the community needs to come together to support each other.
Mass shootings in America: The Nashville shooting is the 129th mass shooting in the US so far in 2023, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive. The Gun Violence Archive, like CNN, defines a mass shooting as one in which at least four people are shot, excluding the shooter.”
(via https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/nashville-shooting-covenant-school-03-27-23/index.html)
Obviously Twitter is having a hayday with this, right-wingers seemingly celebrating the fact that the shooter was transgender.
If you choose to care more about what the shooter identified as, rather than the LITERAL children and teachers that were killed, you are a despicable human being and you deserve everything that comes to you.
Please feel free to add more info in reblogs/replies!

Ahsoka: "Master and Apprentice" & "Toil and Trouble" Liveblog
Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOO! :D
We've added Marrok and Hyuang and one of the mercenaries and Chopper and Sabine to the opening character swivels, nice.
Digging this drum cue.
And we get an opening crawl! Nice.
Hilariously this bridge sequence feels more Star Trek than Star Wars.
Good for this captain he's very suspicious.
Hi Baylan! Hi Shin!
Aaaaaaaand they all dead.
All right, well thus far I can say I definitely like Baylan's heavy forceful presence and Shin's near feral nimbleness and speed.
Also digging the general Black Knight feel of Baylan, when he calls her "Lady Morgan" here.
Definitely feeling Zeffo vibes off this temple here.
Aligning the pedestals to light up each of the map icons definitely feels like it'd be a perfect JFO minigame lol.
That... is a Treasure Planet map.
Love how these droids move.
Welp, they blew up quite a bit of the ruins.
HEEEEERRAAAAAAAAAA! :D
Oh and she does have the lekku markings, nice.
I'm sorry, lol, the height difference is gonna bug me, Ahsoka with her large montrals was like... one of the tallest characters on the show and LA!Hera's got inches on her here it's unintentionally hilarious.
Makes LA!Ahsoka look like a shrimp.
This is a call to improve the alien makeup Disney, I'm sorry I will never not be disappointed in it.
My heart. :(((( Hera came to believe that Thrawn (and most likely Ezra too) died in the Liberation of Lothal. The quiet fearful hope on her face as she's holding this map.
"If Thrawn survived, does that mean Ezra--?"
FRICK I WAS NOT PREPARED.
And Lothal looks beautiful. *sniffles*
Hi Ryder!
And Jai Kell got to be Lothal's senator! SWEET.
BEAAAAAAAAN!
The camera shot that introduces her. *chef kiss*
Sabine being A MESS because she misses Ezra so much and she can't stand being at the dedication ceremony honoring him. :((((
There she goes to the tower.
KITTY!
SKRUNKLES MY LOVE!
We don't ever learn its name do we? Then I'm calling it Skrunkles.
OHHHHH I heard Sabine's theme! With the pan down to her stored armor.
The cat is really too cute, they did a fantastic job on it.
Ezra's theme playing too aaaaaaaand frick I'm dead.
"Hey Sabine! Sorry for disappearing on you." YOU HAD BETTER BE SORRY YOU LITTLE SHIT.
Ha ha now I understand all the weird Sabezra related asks I got over the weekend, y'all were trying to warn me.
Like I've said before, canon validation isn't my be all end all, I love these two and that's not gonna stop.
SORRY DAVE, I'VE BEEN ON THE HELL TRAIN TOO LONG, YOU CAN'T GET ME OFF NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.
Also? Eman is nailing this.
And there's the Nightsister reveal.
I'm slightly confused as to how and why Baylan knows that Ahsoka had Sabine as her apprentice.
Like, where to find Sabine, that's easy, obviously she's on Lothal, she's the local hero and protector.
But why does he know about Ahsoka's connection to her?
Anyway, Lothal still looks beautiful.
Bury me in Sabine having maybe prophetic nightmares and waking up gasping Ezra's name.
*weeps*
"Everyone was there." "Not everyone."
OW PAIN STABBING.
Natasha is killing it with this look like she's trying to hold back from crying.
They cut out the "It's been a while." line, huh. Interesting choice.
Oooooooo Sabine has doodles in one of the bunks on Ahsoka's ship!
This dialogue seems a bit redundant to the Hera-Ahsoka scene. Like, isn't this the same conversation she had with Hera?
I can't get over it, lol, it's literally a Treasure Planet map. Love it.
"The map stays here." You're going to turn around and Sabine's is gonna be GONE honey.
See, told ya. Lol.
Callbacks to Maul scenes from Phantom Menace, nice.
Skrunkles is adorable. I love him.
Ohhhhhh we are definitely exploring Ahsoka's lingering guilt over leaving the Order, leaving Anakin, before his Fall.
That design looks a bit like a Celtic knot. Maybe tying into the whole Authurian legend theme with some of the names and aesthetics?
WOAH OKAY HA HA EZRA GOT THRAWN WAAAAAAAAY MORE LOST THAN WE'D THOUGHT.
Sabine are you seriously planning to go off looking for Ezra by yourself?
You've got it baaaaaad girl.
Okay, glad they finally explained where the turbolift was in this thing lol.
Youuuuuuuu didn't need to lurk, Shin? Literally could have just taken the map and left?
Ho ho Shin grabbing the lightsaber in order to throw Sabine around.
Ooof that's gonna scar.
Soooooo was Shin just being Extra and wanting to fight another Jedi?
Bet that was it.
"For our friend, Ray" RIP good man. :(
Star charts credits nice!
These are gorgeous and I wanna study them so much more closely. I think there's a chimera? Some kind of worm thing.
PURRGIL!
The score is also excellent and I love Sabine's theme and Ezra's theme throughout.
Bet Sabine had to spend quite a while in a bacta tank. Good thing she got medical attention right away.
Corvus?
Seatos! Okay. And a "reflex point"? Color me intrigued.
Loth-kittes aww.
Ahsoka's looooong sigh when she sees that Sabine's been rewatching Ezra's holo, lol.
IS THAT A USB CORD? LOLOL.
A lovely little moment between Hera and SAbine here.
Nightsister ichor!
I am loving the star map.
"Thrawn calls to me... across time and space." Okay lady sure take a cold shower before your crush gets too hot okay.
So there are a LOOOOOT of plot McGuffins in this story thus far lol.
I'm sorry, Shin's actress is so dead I need her to emote more in her quiet scenes, simply being vicious and feral in fights isn't working.
The Phantom II looks so beautiful.
CHOPPER! HELLO MUDERBOT I MISSED YOU.
Oh wow we're actually exploring the fact that rebuilding the New Republic is messy and complicated and you can't just fire and/or jail a bunch of low level civilian machiners just because they worked on Imperial ships.
And we're ALSO getting some hard-handed slapping Ahsoka in the face with the fact that she's a mess and needs to deal with her mess.
"I see you still have your lightsaber." "Ezra's lightsaber."
AW FRICK THE WAY THAT CORRECTION GOT ME.
Filoni I love the messy prickly falling out between Ahsoka and Sabine but I would really like... ONE paragraph of exposition about why Sabine went to Ahsoka and asked to be trained, or however that happened.
I mean I know I can inference that she was desperate to feel closer to Kanan and Ezra and mourning them and trying to be the hero Lothal needed and worked up in her feelings about, "If Ezra's not here to be Lothal's Jedi I have to be." but the general audience might need some help.
OH GOSH THAT LITTLE SWALLOW AS SHE TAKES HER SABER AGAIN AND LOOKS AT IT.
So I'm confused is it that the New Republic was lazy and/or too trusting/too willing to give ex-Imperials another chance just to keep some kind of order and peace and infrastructure in place or are they just that bad at uncovering spies?
Because there is a good point that not everyone who worked for the machine of the Empire has to be rooted out and displaced from their jobs and livelihoods, that just builds resentment, makes it easier for the Imperial Remnant to gain support.
At the same time though I feel like this is tying into the general New Canon "The New Republic is incompetent." trend that I'm not a fan of.
Next setpiece yay!
Love Ahsoka using the droid as a body shield.
LOL CHOPPER.
Oh, have we remembered we need to clear atmosphere BEFORE jumping? Thanks that's great. SW been slacking on that.
Oh what? Oh this is new, hang on the bulleted lists have a character limit.
Where were we?
The new Chopper model is so much more expressive than the one they build before, it looks great. Very much like the cartoon.
SKRUNKLES I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
And cue the Kanan parallel scene with Sabine.
OH FRICK THE SCENE AT THE MEMORIAL I'M NOT READY FOR THIS.
Gimme a minute.
Right so even if you don't ship them, their bond is hugely undeniable, they are in fact the Most Important People to each other, she misses him so much and she's been drowning in her grief about him.
Ngl the finger touch is still getting me.
"It's more me." Frick, how she's been hiding away from her true self, essentially cosplaying as Ezra because she thought that was what Lothal needed, and now she's struggling to understand who she is now.
MY GIRLS ARE MESSY AND EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED AND SO SO FLAWED AND I LOVE IT.
Oh what?
Are they building a hyperspace ring? A special one???
Oh OHHHHHH ARE THEY BUILDING A SUPER STARGATE EQUIVALENT?
(Reference, on the show Stargate SG-1 the plot revolves around a network of alien wormhole transportation devices called stargates, that connect to each other across the galaxy. But to connect to OTHER galaxies you either needed a plot device energy source called a ZPM or YOU HAD TO BUILD A REALLY REALLY BIG HUGE HONKING STARGATE.)
Ohhhhhhhhhhh they are MAKING A SHIP CAPABLE OF EXITING THE GALAXY I WAS RIGHT.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THAT WAS A RUSH.
I am very nicely happy with how things are unfolding, aside from a few nitpicks here and there about the worldbuilding and backstory that's been kept from us. (Ahsoka and Sabine's whole... everything.)
But it does not look like Sabine is Force Sensitive, which I'm glad about. I've seen a couple people salty about her being a Jedi and honestly between the two options of "Make her Sensitive and retcon large parts of Rebels" or "It's a new era, there are No More Rules, we can't be picky about who we take on as Jedi so sure let's have a non-Sensitive, Ahsoka maybe thought it was safer that way anyway", I know which one I'm picking.
The whole plot with the celestial navigation is fascinating. I need to study screencaps of the starmap and the end credits for clues because WOAH BOY DID I NOT EXPECT EXPANDING BEYOND THE GFFA.
Ezra baby come hoooooooooome. :(((( Your girl misses you.
Wew lad, I hope there are plenty of gifsets, 'cause Imma reblog 'em all.

Finally free to poke you about your OCs!!!!
I would like to ask for Spear, Astral and Ghost:
🎀🖊️👻💎
Absolutely, right away :D the heads of the 404th and one Guard slicer in chief for you <3
🎀- How do they style their hair ?
Spear is not original I'm afraid, it's the regulation haircut for him. Astral let their hair grow and like to wear it in two plaited braids. It looks great and withhold an helmet well. Ghost has a buzzcut. (If they tend let it fluff and curl a tiny bit before cutting it again each time, it's solely due to the Guard buzy schedule and have nothing to do with how Tooka secretly love when it's all fluffy. Of course.)
🖊️- Do they have any tattoos ?
Astral and Spear both have the 404th special, of course (their numbers tattooed on their collarbone). Astral also has astrological maps expanding from her back. She made one of her vode choose a constellation to add to her collection every time the 404th is on leave. The first ones are from her batchers, then it was her officers, even a few shinies got to choose (they were spiralling and she wanted to get them to focus on something nicer). Spear has a spear (hah) tattooed on his spine. It's a reminder of who he is, what he stands for and where he is going. Ghost has a stylized tooka face right behind one knee and a corresponding ghost figure behind the other. Courtesy of Stick and Line, Guard tattooers professionals. (They just wanted a test dummy for their new tattoo guns, Ghost had a few hours free and didn't care about getting tattooed if he could still have access to a datapad. They offered to cover them up with something better a few times but Ghost find them funny.)
👻- What is their biggest fear ?
Spear still have nightmares of Krell long after his death. It took him a bit of time to understand he had been terrified of his general. Astral is claustrophobic. The space needs to be very tight to make her panic anymore tho, so it's generally not a problem. Ghost is afraid to his bones of some very specific senators and aides.
💎- What is most important to them ?
Astral loves their siblings with their entire being. She lives and acts for them. Loving them, all of her vode, is an integral part of who she is. She transmitted part of that to Spear. He always had taken his duty very seriously and that love for his vode amplified that. On a separate note, if what he considers his duty and some natborn wishes correlate, it's purely a happy coincidence. The most important thing for Ghost is the well being of the Guard, to noone surprise. They are, after all, one of the Guard's officers. (The tidiness of his office -the Guard servers and informatics center- is also very, very, important to him. Do not mess with their stuff.)
Thank you for making me talk about them Whisky <3

hey. can you talk about the timeline in space fic? because palpatine clearly hasn’t been in power for as long as he was in star wars ?? so it’s only been a couple years since the empire began right? idk if it was mentioned how long ago order 66 happened but it’s not 19 years im guessing
i mean, the luke/padme/leia counterparts are all alive and know thalia, so there
did the clone wars happen? was it wayyy before thalia? or are the stormtroopers actually clones… THAT WOULD BE COOL- (i just cried a lot at the end of clone wars… and during…and even now) (or maybe the idea of clone wars doesn’t really fit in a world where the star fleet also exists?)
anyway, yeah, is there a timeline (even if it’s a nico centric one)
i guess yavin hasn’t happened yet either tho so idk what i’m asking HHAA
THANK YOU. I adore this fic and i want more press conferences for sure
HELLO yes i would LOVE to talk about the timeline in space fic haha yes so the timeline is condensed x10 when compared to canon and not everything lines up buuuut i will try and include what i can <3 <3
honestly i havent tried mapping this out outside of my head so lets see how this works out haha
This timeline starts about eleven years ago from chap 8!
Thalia found on Tatooine by Jedi, leaves for training, Jason is left alone on Tatooine.
Thalia trains with Jedi Council/Yoda. Her training is very accelerated yes <3
During this time, the Jedi Council assists the Galatic Senate with their abilities. Rumors about the Sith are circulating at this time/Palpatine is still operating v covertly at this point, notices Thalia’s power.
Thalia becomes a Jedi master
Very shortly after, Annabeth appeals to the Council for Thalia to take her as a student. As a Force-sensitive Alderaan Princess, she has at least enough pull to plead her case.
(this is how Annabeth and Thalia officially meet lmao)
thalia does NOT want a student. And yet -
Thalia takes Annabeth as her padawan/apprentice and dedicates hours to training. They’re sent on missions to gather information, to guard Senate members, to hunt down bounties, whatever the Council needs.
This is the Clone Wars era, but a much shorter version.
During this period, Thalia is sent on a mission to San Francisco, Earth. Cue Starfleet job, meeting Reyna.
One mission, they end up without a ship and need to get across the galaxy quick. Percy and Grover are drafted in a dive bar and get tangled up in their mission, end up staying. After a year, Percy leaves Alliance.
Percy’s gone for almost six months, then Thalia tracks him down. Annabeth ran off on a solo mission and got herself in trouble.
Annabeth is found dead (or very very near it) and Thalia revives her. They never speak of it, return to Council.
Thalia starts getting nightmares, what she thinks are future visions, of Jason/Annabeth/Reyna dying.
During a base evacuation off Hoth, Thalia is presumed dead. Her death announcement is sent to Jason on Tatooine. He runs away shortly after, solo-travels.
After a few months, Jason tries to start his life over, gets a ticket to a new colony planet. Meets Nico on ship there.
Where’s Thalia ?? uhh my heart says somewhere. Likely, she managed a quick escape from Hoth and pulled a Luke to run back to Yoda, tell him about her visions.
Random but this is also when percy stuffs annabeth (frozen) into a tan-tan lmao
Thalia returns / discovers Jason is gone and goes searching for him, with and without Annabeth.
During this time, Palpatine connects with her mind. She begins to speak with him--he assists in Thalia's search.
After months of searching, Thalia discovers Jason on the Tarsus list, dead. Palpatine is the one who delivers the list.
Thalia does not handle this news well.
She does in fact Anakin an entire settlement of raiders a la Shmi death in AotC.
Palpatine connection grows stronger.
Shortly after, order 66 wipes out all the Jedi across the galaxy—Thalia and Annabeth barely survive.
Clone armies turn on the Jedi.
Palpatine serves Thalia with an offer to join him, gain power.
Thalia accepts, thinking Annabeth will follow her.
Uhh. Wrong.
They part ways. Annabeth is left with nothing but the pieces of the Jedi Order, the patchwork Alliance. Throws herself into it while Thalia trains as Palpatine’s Apprentice.
A few years later, Alderaan is the first planet that the Death Star takes out. And, unrelated, there’s a semi-nearby prison break.
Most of this is directly from my notes so i hope its not TOO messy haha but yes this is the general order of events!!!! THANK YOU FOR READING

The Dawning Of The Sun Part 1/2
Tumblr media
Simultaneously upon response The Courts of Legal order for The Senate and Congress have been called to action by President Allen my minion yes indeed everything is on schedule.
You see I have been invited to summit for a college level students higher learning class course in Washington and we get to meet The President unfortunately it is obviously heavy protected.
I am was whistling on my way to the visitors bathroom slipping in to stall I remove my remote control, pressing it pressuring the lights to go out and a panic to ensue.
The camera go rogue laying on the crowd to find President Allen pinpointing him for me on my app. I scan the room finding him with the accuracy of a heat seeking missile hit him with dart.
His eyes roll back, body sinks to the floor he is dragged through the darkness through a secret tunnel system and I make an escape like none has seen in their life time of ever will again.
A light edges in securing us an exit to the out side world we race to the helicopter we stole and make a haste return to my brand spanking new laboratory I created on my own.
One robot replacement at a time will soon be all I need to conquer everything in this world. “As soon as we arrive to the base my goons, lift him up in to the laboratory for me and leave us be.” I state.
“Yes sir” all four men agree flying us home in a speedy amount of time they leave me
to my plans. “You see Allen a few tiny clear attachments here and there then we can begin.” I finish.
A flick of the switch causes an electrical fiery spark and the mind mapping would begin a long with the injection. I let all settle in to his body a good hour in to it before I woke him up.
“Wakey, wakey, you dunce” I say shaking him back to life with hush stupefied but not expression on his face.
“Oh Master Lawrence, I had a nightmare of epic proportions.” He states.
“Relax my dear it’s all over now.”
“The world needs an attitude adjustment it all starts with The US.”
“I believe in your World Order”
“Others have had plans”
“So it’s true?”
“Yes, what do about that?”
“Give me names”
I turn on the television to see a alert for a breaking news flash interrupting my daytime drama and it says The President is missing I sigh feeling nothing at all.
He walks up with mischievous expressions on his face falling to his knees if only he is aware of it all. I sit him down aside from me and begin the explanation for my plan.
Tumblr media
If must be well executed I reply giving him the need emphasizing of the event I pick up a sd card label it US. He stares at with such wonder as to say it’s the first time seeing it.
The next day he is finally reappearing at the main steps of the White House sd card in his hand and start to give them story I told
him to say. They are all skeptic beginning to analyze it but I knew the decryption would be almost impossible.
Eventually someone would place it in a lap top as my dinged I knew it is happening at this moment. The upload is happen behind a wall on their system once uploaded a signal will hit all satellites.
In a minutes a broadcast signal hit the air waves and screen in thunderous sounds amplified by each device upgrade grabbing hold of the unwilling participants of this event they soon will be though.
Like a switch everyone’s mind wipes cleat as they stare mindless in to space, spit is dribbling down their blank expressionless faces and they will be compelled rewritten to be compelled by me.
Tumblr media
Clark Kent Aka Superman walks in to his job at The World Famous News Paper The Daily Planet to see the impossible no more like the improbable happen when he lays on every person in space.
He stops cold at the point he hears the faint sound of the programming at a higher level
of decibels sending his mind in to a tale spin of gigantic consequences down the line but it stops.
“Woah! Did I fall asleep or something?”
“Yeah I feel so light and relaxed”
“I am energized”
“Something is wrong guys I feel it”
“Oh relax Clark, you are such a worthy worth.”
“Why did I marry you again?”
“Lois “
“Joking “
“Hhhhmmmmnnn”
The world fails to notice any changes while it goes on except President Allen in his sleep dreams of what his Masters Grand Prix Gold Medal Worthy Plan Of World Domination. His cabinet, members of Congress and The Senate vanish and sudden reappear for weeks on end.

Ya know what? No, it’s not all gonna be okay. We can try to cheer ourselves up and boost morale all we want but thoughts and prayers don’t bring back the dead.
201 mass shootings. 127 days. These numbers are fucking repulsive. That averages out to one mass shooting every 15 hours. A mass shooting is defined as a shooting that injures at least 4 people with the bullets, excluding the perpetrator(s), in one location.
This is fucking disgusting. The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, proposed firmer gun control after 2 mass shootings. The United States has passed anti trans laws into effect and, in good old motherfucking Tennessee, expelled two of the three senators who stood with the 10,000 school kids demanding gun control, instead of actually doing anything about the shootings.
Why? Because this is the US, and our government cares more about the 2nd amendment than innocent civilian lives. Innocent CHILDRENS’ lives. Fuck the government. Fuck this dystopian nightmare where pistols get more protection than preschoolers.
Try to keep yourselves safe. And if you know you’re going down in a shooting, go down swinging.

The Transfer
Trigger Warnings! ⚠️ 18+ contentThis probably doesn't even cover everything tbh...Possession, submissive, Gor, gore, aggression, D/s, B.D.S.M., marks/bruises, physical violence, M/s, use of the word slave, pain, master-bation, violence
I tend to Mother Talzins garden for her, collecting the inventory she is low on. I catch myself thinking of the new master, wondering if he's feeling alright. Once each vial was properly refilled I polished the Nightsisters weaponry, and minor repairs to any beat up training equipment. The temple is quiet as many of the residents are sleeping in. There is a large celebratory dinner for the sisters. I am not exactly sure what we are celebrating but I was assured that it has nothing to do with the arrival of the brothers. Mother made it clear that details of the brothers and the events of last night were to be kept quiet.
By the time I finish my work it is time to prepare for the celebration. Mother Talzin approves of my traditional slave ware. I dawn a black halter top and two open panels that connect at the hips as a sort of skirt. The fabric is silky and beaded with red beads, and my body from my lekku to my bare feet is decorated in silver jewelry. This included ankle chains, a harness and collar, wrist cuffs and a chain head piece. I oil my Dathomiric tattoos and insert my ear cone piercings and nose and lip rings. I was originally a senator's slave so I was accustomed to the decorative wear but the labor was an adjustment. I do look forward to these occasional celebrations, as this is my strength.
I head down to the hall early, and begin to pour wine. I'm not a very good dancer or performer but what I lack there I make up for in my hospitality training. I balance a tray of wine crystal and make small talk with the sisters. Celebrating their victories and weeping with them in their losses. Hospitality is just minor expressions of empathy mixed with acts of service after all.
I am called for by my Master Mother. I kneel at her feet and then proceed to top off her glass. I bow, thinking that I have completed my task. She looks to her son and stretches her hand in my direction "A welcome home gift for you Maul, I think companionship will do you well." I am not surprised by the transfer, this is typical. However Maul seemed almost annoyed by my presence. I am dismissed to return to the sisters and continue to make merry. I don't think much of my transfer, this happens often in the life of a slave. It is best not to get too attached.
After the festivities, I report to Mother to have her collar removed and Maul's to replace it. Mother preferred the posture colors, tall and decorative. They elongate the neck in an almost vulnerable position. Maul presented a plain metal collar, made from recycled Droid metal and attached by a screw. However, you can tell he took careful time in polishing the collar to make sure it shined. Implying a surprise transfer but one that he still took seriously. You can tell a lot about a master by the collar the present.I bowed to my old then my new master and was dismissed to pack my things. I disrobed and placed my entertainment wear in my beat up canvas bag. I changed into my black uniform and collected my few possessions into the bag. This uniform was simply skin tight pants and cropped long-sleeve, with black boots. It had been so long since I have traveled, and I look forward to it.
I met Master Maul in his room, he and Savage were bent over a map, reviewing the plans of their journey ahead, my excitement grew at the thought of seeing a new planet. "We leave early tomorrow morning, apprentice" Savage replied "yes brother" and he parted for the night. Without a word I removed my boots at the door and layed on the floor beside his bed. I fell asleep easily but was regularly awoken by my Masters yells, he was clearly plagued by his nightmares. Afraid to touch him, I hummed a tune my mother used to sing to me in our village on Ryloth in an attempt to soothe. Suddenly I feel a sharp pain in my face, a sting to my left cheek. I choke on my yelp as my hand immediately reaches to soothe my face. "Quiet, pet." I look up to see two piercing yellow and red eyes looking directly into mine. "Yes sir" a tear escapes my eye and he reaches his and to wipe it away "good girl". I feel a piece of my heart seem to melt in my chest. "Come." He whispers as I feel movement on the bed, the blanket drawing back. I go to stand but I am interrupted mid-kneel by a single word. "Crawl." I feel myself blush, and silently crawl into bed. I can feel the cool metal of his new legs but a deep warmth to his skin- which is surprisingly soft to the touch. I curl up unto him, falling into a deep sleep.

HANNIBAL SPOILERS S01E11
RARA CHILTON LETS GOOOOOO
There’s so much symbolism in this fuxking show - is Will’s tsunami dream supposed to be linked to the conversation that Hannibal and baby girl sad lil chilton we’re having about not pushing their patients too hard?
Ah the ol’ senator Kelly melting into the bed trick, huh? God, I’m starting to hate Will’s nightmares so much because I’ve had similar ones and they’re hitting too close to home.
Eddie izzard gives good serial killer
Look at the ragamuffin baby girl go, his head movements are giving bratty cheerleader 😂 and he’s all puppy with his tail between his legs in front of Hannibal and then all proud and gloaty with Gideon and Alana
I know I’m supposed to be on Will and Alana’s side here but alas, I’m on the foghorn leghorn baby girl’s side.
Ooh antler room
This show reads like Hannibal fan fiction because there’s inklings of what happens in the books like the way Hannibal is treating Will is a lot like the way that he manipulates Clarice. What I don’t get is does Hannibal want a killing partner? like does he see a killer in Will and wants him for that or is he legit taken in by Will’s main character of an anime energy and just wants him because he’s complex and pretty? Or both?
Yeah Alana is getting a bit on my nerves - like the dude is sick and she’s sending him mixed messages galore.
Boo Freddie lounds
Oooh Dr Gideon got her… 🤷🏻‍♀️
Booo she’s still alive
Ah that reminds me, I gotta donate blood soon
Oh no Gideon has Chilton… I’m not too worried because I’m pretty sure rara is in this all three seasons but nope don’t like that.
Also Anna chlumsky who plays Miriam in this appeared in the first episode that rara appeared in on hannibal which is funny because they both are in the their first appearances on SVU, the episode based on fifty shades.
NOOOO WHAY THE FUCK GET OUT OF RARA’S GUTS JESUS CHRIST OH BABY GIRL NO WTF
Finally they make Will stay behind in The car, I’m almost surprised Jack didn’t walk into the conservatory with Will as a shield.
Aaaaaand of course he got out of the car.
Oh Rara - hold on to those guts my little dude.
Oof Will is losing it. Man, Hugh Dancy plays distraught and disturbed so well.
Of course Will takes Gideon to Hannibal.
So Will has a seizure and then just stands there while Hannibal and Gideon have a chat? Alrighty then 🤷🏻‍♀️
Oh shit he’s offering Gideon Alana
Gideon mutilated Dr Chilton 😭
“I’m worried about Alana” he says 😂 as he very pointedly leaves a gun and his keys for Will. Why not a map to Alana’s house l too?
So I don’t get the whole Will seeing Garrett Jacob Hobbs instead of Gideon thing. Like is it because it’s Will’s first kill? Did he actually enjoy killing GJH and that’s why he hallucinated the corpse saying “see” and now he’s haunted by that because it might prove that he actually enjoys killing? I don’t know if I’m pulling stuff out of my ass at this point. Oh yeah and what’s with the stag all the time? It can’t be a good thing because it always leads will to bad places. Is it like the representation of the serial killer inside Will?
Babygirl DID NOT have a good time this episode.

____________________
Nothing changed. Not the obnoxious people, not the earthy smells, nor the heavy atmosphere. The loud locks of the gates closing behind your group still resonated through your ears, sounding too much like the last nail sealing your coffin shut and not like a protecting device. Was it your instincts telling you that you made the wrong decision? Or was it just the dread of returning somewhere you never wanted to return? Either way, it was clear that you didn't feel any bits of nostalgia at being back between these rocky walls.
Hells, even the council's room was giving off unpleasant vibes with its tall bookcases carved directly into the walls that protected way too many old books that weren't all redacted in French nor in Basic. A map of the planet hung on the furthest wall of the room, the different villages identified with their respective symbol to help with trades, hunts, fights. Frabas' name crossed out in blood-red ink to remind everyone of the overnight genocide that happened there.
The lanterns were the only nice things in the room. The soft green and blue crystals contained within the glass enclosure bathed the whole room in their light. Maybe if you focussed on them long enough their glow would soothe your mind.
"Excuse me? You spit on it?" Tech's sudden high pitch tone was surprising enough to pass through your incessant flow of thoughts
"Yeah. Right there." He pointed at an intergrown knot close to the far extremity of the table where the heads usually sat. "What? Did you want me to piss on it? That's a bit too animalistic." Kayden added as soon as he noticed Tech's offended expression that quickly morphed into a disgusted one.
"Honestly, with you people, I wouldn't have been surprised." Crosshair's jeer traveled the room in a second. It took even less to drop Kayden's mood.
His hand tightened around yours and without losing a single second, you matched his grip to keep him from expressing his frustration through anything physical. Now wasn't the time to start a fight between your own team members when several other players might want to hurt you.
If tonight's bad luck could turn into good fortune at least once, now would be the time. The 'diplomats' were out of harm's way, Kayden had technically done what he was told and thus was not considered a traitor, leaving you alone on the spot.
"Look who just found his voice again." He caught your message and used his words instead. "I was sure you'd swallowed your tongue when you ran like a chicken back there."
"And who ran the fastest in the group eh?" The sniper walked to the table. His hands fell flat on the wood to support himself as he leaned forward, daring the brunette at your sides to make a move.
"The fastest is usually the one to survive." He pointed out as he scratched at his clothed chest with his free hand, his right one still prisoner of your grip.
"Crosshair." Hunter slightly pulled him backward by the pauldron and away from the incoming confrontation. "Enough." He added with a growl, clearly remembering how this wasn't his brother. Not fully.
Against all expectation, Crosshair did back off, although he quickly moved his animosity towards the new source of irritation, clear proof that this wasn't the man with whom Hunter had shared so many memories, good or bad. He was a total stranger that didn't respect him at all and lived to push his buttons. Why he stayed with you all was a mystery, although you weren't complaining. Keeping him restrained while in the jungle would have been a true challenge.
It was like waiting for a storm to explode. The dark grey clouds were there, the strong winds blew away everything in their wake, the thunder resonated in the distance, yet there wasn't any droplet of rain. The men faced each other just like in the cave, mere centimeters separated their chest plates and anytime now, the first blow would mark the start of a colossal downpour.
It was nerve-wracking. Even Wrecker and Tech were watching, clearly pondering if they should intervene or if by doing so they would aggravate the situation. You started getting up as the door opened and startled you into seating down again.
Never had you thought that seeing Arlan enter a room would make you feel relieved, yet, this was exactly how you felt at the moment. It seemed like the sudden entrance of an outsider was enough for Crosshair to back off. You subtly crossed your fingers that he wouldn't lash out at the leader even though the scene would very probably make you feel so much better. The consequences of going against Arlan just weren't worth it.
Before the dark-haired leader could notice it, you separated your hand from Kayden's, both your backs straightened and your unbothered masks came back on. Wearing the well-worn suit of this fake cocky personality was deeply uncomfortable but truly necessary. Over the years it became your best shield and Kayden your best ally.
"Take a seat." Arlan waved towards the table as he walked deeper into the room, passing Hunter and Crosshair like they weren't even there. It took years to be able to read the black-haired leader, but it definitely came in handy now.
His calm tone hid a deep irritation that showed through the tightness gripping the muscles around his eyes. He quickly tamed his features as he took place at the end of the table, his elbows immediately meeting the hardwood of the armchairs to allow his fingers to interlace before him.
Soon the 4 seats opposing you were occupied with rigid troopers. Their helmets still firmly on would have been seen as an enormous lack of respect if only Arlan's attention wasn't already focussed on two nasty boots dripping mud onto the piece of art that was the table.
Arlan only needed one look to communicate thoroughly his thoughts. The hard gaze that could easily be misinterpreted as a constipated one transpired enough threats that Kayden removed his boots without any further delay. The ultimatum was clear and you both knew that there was nothing Arlan despised more than repeating himself. Well, maybe you two were the firsts on his list, but that was especially because you loved to make him repeat himself.
If only he didn't look like there was an entire fire-ants colony in his pants, Kayden would have kept his feet up for a bit longer just to raise the man's blood pressure a little. You swore he got more grey hair each time he had to talk with the two of you.
The disapproving sigh accompanying the stormy grey hues boring deeply into yours was a true gift to Kayden whose smirk widened in consequence.
"Do you know why you're here?" The question resonated within the room with utmost seriousness, a seriousness that you forced yourself to shrug nonchalantly in response.
"Surely not because you missed me." You placed a smirk on your lips to copy your sidekick and complete the infernal duo act.
His dark-grey sleeves rode up his arms as he bent forward, his elbows now resting on the table, to get a closer look at you, 3 chairs away. Whilst being very tempting, flinching under his hard stare was out of the question. Four months in a medbay with kind people almost made you forget what the world was really made of; selfish people who always looked out for weaknesses to exploit and were eager to beat others down in hope to raise themselves up.
"We are here to talk relations between the Republic and your planet." Hunter sharply stated, cutting short the staring contest. "My team was sent in a preliminary manner to inform you of the Republic's intentions seeing as your representatives couldn't be reached through official channels. In the following days, two senators will be coming here with adequate troops to talk in the Senate's name."
How the room got hotter in a second was a mystery. All you knew was that even though his tone was borderline too crisp to be qualified as diplomatic, Hunter's words were so perfectly chosen that you wondered if he'd done this kind of job before.
As the silence following Hunter's declaration stretched, Arlan's gaze moved to the hard visor of the commando trooper. The intensity of his stare left you thinking that maybe he was able to see through the shade. Unfazed, Hunter stared right back as you did just moments prior.
You nearly missed it. If you hadn't been watching Arlan as intently as you were doing, the minuscule flash in his eye would have been overlooked. A muscle jumped in his jaw, filling you with dread. Something was wrong. Somehow he had the upper hand and he was internally relishing his win.
"A very well executed lie, but I am sorry to announce you that the Republic won't come here, Sergeant. Not after the Jedis signed a treaty to never come on this planet ever again." You were sure he paused just to get a reaction out of the commando. Hunter's helmet hid his expression perfectly. If he'd reacted or not was totally lost on everyone, unfortunately, it wasn't the same for Kayden whose eyes grew as big as saucers. "No Jedi, no clone, no senator, no Separatist, no outsider is welcome here."
Say what now? Never before had you ever heard of Jedis ever landing a foot on Fors, even less signing a treaty.
Hunter's helmet slightly dipped in your direction, surely to get some answers through your body language. Surely, he got the message when you gulped, wariness filling your eyes as you continued to stare at the man in his mid-50s. His message had been pretty clear from the very beginning. That he felt the need to add that the clones weren't welcome caused doubts in your village ethics to creep into your mind.
As far as you knew, no one had ever been executed in cold blood. Sure, you'd heard stories as a child about how people who were a tad bit too disturbing in the community would vanish overnight, obviously thrown out into the jungle to be feasted on by some hungry creature. Without knowing if they were true events or simply a way to make children behave, you took a habit of sticking with Kayden as soon as the firsts Furants that created their nests in the crooks of the walls circling the village entered the gates to hide, signaling that 7 pm had recently passed and the Nightmares would show up in under an hour. After all, there was no better nuisance in Alryan than the two of you.
Knowing that Arlan's smugness was carefully hidden under layers of practiced indifference, a very tantalizing urge to break your knuckles once again send tingles into your dominant hand. Breaking his nose for a second time would definitely help your mood as well as everyone else's in the room, you were sure of it.
"The- the Jedis? But they never-"
"It is not common knowledge." Arlan archly cut Kayden short and rolled his eyes with that very particular expression that made you feel like the stupidest idiot in the galaxy. In response, the tingles in your hand intensified. "This treaty is way older than me after all. We never needed the Republic's help in any way, not then and certainly not now." He at least had the decency to meet his eyes as he talked.
"And what do you think of the Nightmares? Frabas-" You piped up, the image of a traumatized red-head girl shaking in her bloody clothes popped in your mind. "They could've helped with that."
"They are protectors." He closed his eyes in exasperation and pinched his nose like he'd repeated the concept over and over again to a child that never retained anything.
"They don't protect shit! They kill us!"
Where had he been his whole life? Every night they came and howled, screeched, hissed, yapped and laughed on the other side of the gates in hope of having some juicy flesh and fresh blood to appease their hunger and thirst. Some even went as far as hitting the gates repeatedly in hope of breaking their way in. 10 hours per night, 368 nights a year, every year.
"They protect the Core that's in you--" He interrupted himself as soon as he noticed the irritation breaching his mask, allowing venom to drip through the closing cracks. His rage fit only lasted a second but it was a second too much. He gave you more than he wanted you to know.
"What do you mean? In me?" You could feel yourself starting to shake. In apprehension, anger or fear you couldn't tell. There was too much going on at the same time, assaulting your already tired mind.
"Nothing that you need to know." His tone was definitive, his grey eyes conveying the same message.
"Bullshit!" You jump to your feet just as he pushed his chair to get up. "If it's in me like you say, I deserve to know!"
Your yell must have triggered something, because as soon as the words flew from your mouth, Rhian and his troops entered the room, bows fully bent and ready to shoot in your direction. Elijah had his hammer in both hands, fully prepared to use it against a clone- your money went on Wrecker- if needed and Pete was ready to blow a tranquilizer- or it could easily be a fast-acting poison- into someone's neck.
The answer to the intrusion was immediate. Wrecker's chair went flying behind him at the impact of his legs when he followed his CO's movement. All four troopers stood on their side of the table, imposing and totally ready to enter a fight if need be. You and Kayden though? Totally not ready. You were unarmed and by the time you took hold of Kayden's bow, at least three arrows would have found their way into your body.
"All you really deserved was to die on Murphy Day." He snarled in your direction as his impatience once again showed through his slipping mask. "Throw them in the slammer."
That's it. Goodbye knuckles. Always the perceptive, Kayden grabbed your upper arm, right below the Algax's clean-cut, and pulled you back to his side even before you made the first step towards the bastard. Always there to keep you alive for another day. What a nice friend.
"Hands behind your head." Rhian barked as he approached you and Kayden from behind.
Doing as you were told, you noticed the troopers hesitating before doing as ordered when you nodded at them. Tech lifted his good hand, the other keeping hold of Crosshair's cage. One of the archers went to seize it, but a sudden shoulder to the sternum kept him away.
He's not just a nerd. You smirked as the archer stumbled.
"Let them keep it." Rhian waved off the fuming archer who definitely wanted to go back and win his fight. Too bad. "Walk ahead. You know the way." Rhian nodded towards the door after getting a hold of Kayden's bow and quiver, his very own bow aimed at the floor. The string was stretched just enough to cause serious damage if he needed to defend himself quickly, but he seemed to know that it wasn't needed.
Kayden led the way with you in tow, Elijah and Pete moved away from the door to let you pass at a safe distance. Out of the corner of your eyes, you noticed Rhian breaking formation to move up to Arlan, who surely waved him over.
You sighed as you remembered that he didn't even tell you why he wanted you here.
The clone's boots resonated against the rock floor at each of their steps, close enough to appease your mind.
"Do you know a way out of here?" Hunter's voice emanated softly within your ear.
You moved your shoulder blades in a circular motion as if you were stretching the muscles and nodded your head at the same time as to not look too suspicious to the archers escorting the group. Good thing that they didn't notice your earpiece yet.
Wrecker must have been the one right behind you because he relayed the message to Hunter through the private line.
"Now?" You rotated your head from side to side like when you needed to crack your neck.
"No." Came Wrecker's whisper.
"In the slammer?" A small nod.
"Yeah."
"Then we wait and we get out as soon as possible." Hunter told his half-plan to the Batch who hummed their approvals.
Once again the unusual parade that you formed along with the armored men attracted many curious eyes. Ignoring them was easier this time around, the familiarity of their chary gazes finally coming back to allow you to concentrate on something else.
This part of the village was carved so deeply into the mountain that even the occasional howls coming from the jungle couldn't be heard. There couldn't have been better protection for a population of more than 700 people than a natural barrier of rock. Sure, this very convenient refuge could easily become a tomb for a lot of villagers in the event of a breach, but several emergency tunnels were created for this very situation. They were maintained at a perfect condition in case a repeat of Frabas' catastrophe ever came to happen.
Every Alryan learned the location of every single tunnel at the youngest of age. They were only to be used in emergency cases and right now, it was an emergency. It all depended on the perspective.
"It never changed." You stated quietly as the slammer's entrance came into view, the dark purple glow emanating from its depths was a stark contrast to the lively colors of the main area.
Goosebumps rose on your arms as you followed Kayden down the tunnel. The nearby natural well raised the humidity in these parts of the mountain and thus caused the air to become colder. Just my luck, you thought as the fresh air infiltrated your clothes by the multiple tears in their fabric.
"In there." Rhian speed-walked to catch up with Kayden and direct him to a cell carved into the wall on his left.
You were locked up with him, Wrecker and Hunter got situated in the cell facing yours, Crosshair and Tech on the one right beside theirs.
Right as Tech got in after a growling Crosshair, Rhian took hold of the cage and kicked Tech inside who landed in a yelp. You weren't even gripping the bars yet that the heavy door closed behind the engineer.
"Give him back!"
"Sorry 'bout that." He threw the cage in the air twice, the flame within shaking frantically as it hit the bars. "Orders are orders." He ignored the yells of his name bouncing in the detention center and walked out unbothered, his men in tow.
"How quick can you get us out of here?" The urgency in Hunter's tone only added to your own raiding anxiety. What would Arlan do to Crosshair? He was totally defenseless.
"Couple of minutes. But we'll need Back-Up. I hope you have it." You turned to Kayden who scoffed in mocked offense.
"You have back-up?" Tech wondered out loud, tilting his head. "I thought no one would help you here."
"Jeez. Thanks for the vote of confidence." Kayden held his heart before reaching for his chest pocket. "Back-up is my Godot." He pulled a hand-sized lizard from his pocket to show the Batch.
The Godot's orange scales shone softly at Kayden's contact, their light reflecting onto the soft line of baby blue leaves growing on each side of its spine. Its three-fingered paws grabbed fingers and clothes to remain in place while two black eyes moved independently from one another to take in what was happening around. Its long tail wrapped around Kayden's wrist as he lifted it up to show off, the small leaves at its end shining brightly in surprise.
Wrecker gasped and lifted his helmet to get a better view of the animal. "That's what I saw the first time, Tech! It's the lizard that disappeared!"
"Nothing disappeared Wrecker. There was nothing there." Tech rebuked.
"Don’t be so sure about that! They can camouflage themselves, right Back-Up?" At the half-baked order, the tiny lizard shut off its light and changed its skin pigmentation to copy its environment to perfection.
"It disappeared Tech! See? That's what I saw and you didn't believe me!" Wrecker's tone raised as he pointed to Kayden's seemingly empty outstretched hand.
"Wrecke-" You tried to warn him to keep his voice down but heard steps coming your way.
"Back-up, go get the master key at home." Kayden hurriedly whispered to the Godot and quickly kneeled to allow it access to the ground so it could wander away and get the required object.
A guard appeared at the end of the corridor just as Kayden got up and threw himself onto the upper hammock fixed to the walls. He moved around to get comfortable and into the right position, hands under his head.
"So, I've heard that Stockholm syndrome was hard on you." Brett, a particularly annoying scout, mocked from behind his beard.
"Nope. Still don't like y'all." You replied nonchalantly despite the urge to punch him through the bars.
"I was talking about them." He pointed to the two cells containing the clones and you lifted a single eyebrow.
"Tech, definition of Stockholm syndrome please." You asked, maintaining eye contact during the whole process.
"Stockholm syndrome," You saw the genius perked up at your request. Sadly, he didn't lift a finger in the air while he recited the meaning of the word. "Is a psychological response wherein a captive begins to identify closely with his or her captors, as well as with their agenda and demands." He ended with a nod and the movement satisfied you enough to let the lack of a finger go.
"That means you dumbass." You spat as you crossed your arms over your chest. "I'm with them willingly."
"Get fucked!" Kayden shouted with a laugh that got half a smile out of you.
"You? Our captive? It sure felt like the other way around." He finally switched to basic and the hate coating his words told you that he wasn't talking about the pranks and snarky attitude, no, he was talking about something bigger than that.
"What are you talking about?" Maybe you could get more answers out of him than you did with Arlan.
He scoffed. "Stop trying to play the idiot. Between the two of you, Kayden's the best at it."
You ignored said idiot's thanks to press the matter. "Okay and let's imagine I really don't know what the hell you're talking about. What in the damn world did I do?" You remembered Arlan's word and almost added what is wrong with me? but Brett was already dropping the three medicine canisters to the ground, out of reach from either your cell or the clones' and went away.
"You live."
You sat on the ground, drained of every ounce of energy you once had. What was wrong with you? Why did everyone want you dead? The fear you felt at Arlan's words came back as you thought about what it could all mean. The Nightmares who stopped appearing when you left and came back when you did. Whatever the Core was that supposedly resided in you and the fact that the Lumsin knew what it was while you didn't. That the villagers never saw you as an annoying brat but a vile oppressor.
You faintly heard Kayden talking with Tech about Back-up, but couldn't make out the exact words, your own thoughts being way too loud for you to clearly hear anything outside your head.
"It's alright. Don't worry about it." An arm fell on your shoulders and pulled you into Kayden's side who now sat next to you on the ground, successfully pulling you out of your own mind. Yet, as comforting as his gesture was supposed to be, you only felt guiltier. Even when everyone else pointed their fingers at you, he was still there to keep yourself up even after you'd vanished on him.
Kayden scratched the clothes over his heart again and cut off your incoming guilty declaration.
"Question. If the half-skull one was to break my jaw or somethin' and that you didn't see it happen, would you believe me if I told you it was him?" Kayden asked, frowning too deeply for you to brush the question off as one of his stupid ones.
"Wha-?" Then it dawned on you. "Did you threaten him?" You asked Hunter, voice raising in octaves.
You knew Kayden probably deserved it, but he was your best friend. You've been helping each other for more than 15 years and there was no way you'd let him get beaten for a stupid jealousy tantrum.
An invisible hand squeezed your heart as you felt Kayden relaxing against your side. He doubted that you'd listen to him. More importantly, he doubted that you'd trust his word over someone else's. Sure it was Hunter's word, but you knew the Sergeant was not in his right mind and not only because of the irrational feeling.
"He wouldn't stop talking." The unbothered tone in which he answered shocked you.
"Yet you've never threatened Tech."
"That's not the same." Why must he sound like he truly believed that he did nothing wrong?
"You may not value his life and health, but I do. A lot." You emphasized the last word so he got the message. "And his word is the only single one in the galaxy that I never ever doubted."
Kayden's breath sharply filled his lungs and Hunter's fingers curled into fists. You still deeply loved the dark-haired Sergeant and seeing him frustrated at your words made a real number on your insides but that rational part of your brain told you that he would tire of you someday and would leave, whereas Kayden had shown countless of times that he'd be there to hold your hand, push your back and pull you up whenever needed.
"Good to know."
Why did his acknowledgment of your words make you sick? You'd said those words yourself and they were true, so how could they hurt that much? If it wasn't of the half-circles traced on the back of your right hand, you certainly would have had a physical reaction. It could have been hiding in your hammock or tears leaking from your eyes, you didn't know.
"You don't trust us?" Wrecker's hurt translated in his low, nearly inaudible tone if it wasn't of the earbud deeply pushed into your ear canal.
"I do Wrecker. I really do. It's me that I don't." Damn. For someone who wanted to avoid feelings-talks like the plague, you found yourself right in the middle of the deepest one ever.
"I don't understand." He admitted.
"I-" You sighed, trying to find the words that would explain something you didn't know how to explain. "I don't myself Wrecker. I make people despise me and-" The words escaped you. Out of exasperation, your free hand moved up to rub your closed eyelids and drag the pads of your fingers down your cheeks.
"When they don't you persuade yourself they do and you tell yourself that they'll give you up so you start to doubt them even when there's nothing to worry about." Kayden shrugged at your wide eyes looking at him. "Don't be surprised I know you better than yourself. You did the same shit with me but I didn't let you."
"Then why did you doubt yourself against Hunter?"
" 'cuz you love him." He answered in your native tongue and you were grateful for it. You weren't ready to say the words out loud and if Kayden, the person who just demonstrated that he knew you like the palm of his hand, said those words himself, then he'd throw your feelings out in the open and you couldn't have that. Not when your brain still expected the Bad Batch to get back to their ship and leave you on Fors, where you belonged.
"You were there longer."
"Yeah, but that was because you couldn't escape me. Give them their chance. You might be surprised." He patted your shoulder like an old man who gave advice to a youngster.
"We wouldn't give you up. You're our friend!" Wrecker added once the conversation in a foreign language died.
"If you still doubt our friendship, then you might want to remember that we passed hundreds of hours training you to be our pilot and that we lied to our superiors to keep you." Tech pointed out, this time with the finger in the air. It brought the tiniest of smiles to your lips.
"Or remember the moments shared." Hunter surprised you with his quiet words that Kayden definitely couldn't hear without a comm device. Had he realized that he was fighting a non-existent enemy? Or did he feel as bad as you following your exchange?
"Or you can remember that you're a freak." Tech slapped his lean brother's shoulder
"So I belong with you guys? Yeah, I'll- I'll do my best to remember all that." A chuckle escaped your lips. "Thanks." You added under your breath, to which the boys nodded and Wrecker smiled brightly.
"Is your chest okay?" Tech asked and pointed at Kayden who was still scratching his torso.
"Yeah, 's just itchy. I think Kerth put some poison Ivy in my clothes. I wouldn't be surprised." He pulled his shirt forward to look at his skin. He winced. "That does look like it."
"You never get tired of looking at yourself?" A soft feminine voice chuckled from down the hallway.
Soft brown eyes shone behind fiery red locks, their owner walking straight to your cell where she stopped to pass you a hot container. You'd recognize that smell everywhere and apparently so did your stomach who growled loudly in anticipation of receiving some soup.
"Good timing, I see." She chuckled, put her pack on the ground and offered you a container. "It's not poisoned, I promise. I did it myself." She assured in basic when you kept watching her hands without making any move towards the food.
Still unmoving, Kayden took it upon himself to grab two containers and let the redhead give the clones their servings.
"They wanted me to only feed the soldiers but I slipped some for you two as well. For all the spare crusts." She nodded at you, who kept watching her in silence. Before turning around to go back to where she came from, the woman had the kindness to grab the discarded medicine canisters and offer them to Kayden. "Take care."
Wait. You had to tell her. It was like your brain forgot how everything worked. Opening your mouth wasn't hard compared to finding what to say. Even then your throat constricted in an attempt to shut you up, but you couldn't let her go without telling her.
She deserved to know.
"Fleena." Was all you managed and it was enough to stop her in her tracks. When she turned, your hand was already fishing around in your pocket for the small piece of wood.
She came back as you brought your closed fist forward and dropped the dirty necklace on her open hand.
She stared at it, surprise taking over her soft features in a flash as soon as she recognized the symbol. She turned it to inspect the back and now was the right time for the earth to open beneath your ass and take you away.
"Where did you get that?" The tremors in her voice send a knife through your heart.
Swallowing down the lump in your throat, you made sure to choose your words better than with Hunter. "Nixon was a Wanderer."
"He-" She started with hope until she registered your sentence. "Was?"
There it was. The moment to own what you did finally arrived.
"What did you do?" She pressed as you kept silent, unable to say it out loud.
"It wasn't him anymore, Fleena. He hadn't grown up and kept walking in circles on his bleeding feet. He was tormented."
You freed him. You helped him. Now that her horrified hazel eyes bore into yours, Crosshair's words that were so helpful before held no sense.
"He was still my brother." She clutched the necklace to her chest, tears running down her cheeks.
"Nixon was gone."
"I don't expect you to understand. You don't know anything about having a sibling."
The silence following her retreating steps was even heavier than before. No. That wasn't true. The boys spoke in the background and in your ear, prompting you to remove the device to have some peace.
"You're right, I don't." You grumbled in your knees that were now up to your face to hide your features, your arms tightly wrapped around them to keep them close.
"That's the biggest bullshit that ever came out of your mouth." Kayden scoffed next to you. "What do you think I am then? Your friend?" He puffed like it was the stupidest joke he'd ever been told. "Fuck no. We've been family ever since your dad died so cut the crap or I'll hit you."
I should be punching you for saying such stupid stuff.
"For real. I'll hit you so hard you won't ignore me again." He shuffled around to better position himself, arm lifting-
"I've abandoned you." You spat more at you than at him.
"Siblings sucks but we love them anyway." He shrugged. "You're no exception."
Tears gathered in your eyes. Even after leaving him alone to fight for himself, Kayden still loved you as much as before and never once held a grudge against your actions. He was a true god-given gift and you'd treated him unfairly.
Pain exploded into your shoulder and you found yourself colliding with the ground.
"The fuck?" Four spots on your shoulder hurt so deeply that it didn't take long for you to realize that he'd hit you with his knuckles.
"My monthly quota was not yet achieved." He smirked, watching you massage the beaten skin.
"Don't you think I'm hurt enough already?"
"Stop whining, we have Biogel." He shook the metallic container before your face.
"That thing hurts like hell." You groaned, pushing his hand away to sit straight.
"When did you become such a baby?" You shot him the deadliest glare you had in reserve. "Hey. It's a very small price to pay for completely healed wounds in under 30 minutes."
"Completely healed?" Tech inquired, eying the matching container in his hands that Kayden pushed him.
"Yeah! One good layer and bye-bye! Works for sprained stuff too, just takes a little longer." Kayden answered as he helped you apply the cold sticky gel onto your arms. "Little tips: let someone else put it on you." He added as you hissed and groaned under the burning feeling that came with the product.
Your hands closed and opened repeatedly to keep from hitting Kayden in retaliation for the pain he was putting you through. The raging fire led to intense stinging that you could describe as white-hot needles poking your damaged skin.
"Please remember that you love me." Kayden said right before he dropped a huge blob of Biogel onto the hole in your leg. Had he not jumped away, your elbow would have connected with his chest at high speed. Instead, all that got injured were your nerves, your vocal cords and Hunter's head.
"I'll murder you if you do that again." You whimpered while clutching your upper thigh in hope of cutting every pain transmission from your leg to your brain.
"Good thing it was the last one!" He laughed from his side of the cell, Biogel discarded to the profit of the warm bowl of soup which he was already drinking like he'd been starved for a week.
Wrecker's gasp and groans filled the air. A quick glance his way showed Hunter applying a coat of the translucent substance on his burnt hands and neck as well as on the cuts on his arms. Then came Hunter's turn who covered some scratches from the Yappians and after some thought applied some of it on the side of his forehead. No sound escaped his throat, the only proof of the pain assaulting his nerves being the scrunching of his face, unlike Tech who yelped when Crosshair carelessly applied the gel on his wrist and arms. Then, like pain didn't affect him at all, he splattered some on his swollen ankle and it was done.
"I'm sure no one really wants to eat right now, but it'd be good to eat the food until Back-up comes back and we have to leave." Kayden reminded.
"What's that?" Crosshair asked, more worried about the soup than Wrecker was. The tank was already slurping the soup down, mindful of his sensible fingers.
"In basic I guess it translates as bone soup." Wrecker stopped abruptly, mouth still scotched to the bowl. He eyed you in distress, pondering if it was safe to swallow or not. "It's good, despite the name. Hunters usually eat that before a hunt to boost their systems, right Y/N?" Just for the sake of the game, you nodded. It was true anyway.
"And eh… what's in it?" Tech moved the container in small circles to try and identify what was floating in the light yellow liquid.
"Roots, meats, some veggies, guts and ground bones." You kept your poker face as Kayden enumerated the 'ingredients' and Wrecker lost all colors. "Where do you think the name comes from?"
Wrecker spat his enormous gulp and you laughed to the point of tears, soon joined by your best frie- brother.
"He's just fucking with y'all, Wreck. It's called bone soup because there's bone marrow in it to help with our joints. And there’s no guts. We're no savages." You did your best to control your laugh before digging into your soup eagerly. How Kayden always managed to get your mood up was a total mystery, but it always worked and you were grateful for it.
"Could've fooled me." Crosshair taunted.
"Ya can choke on it." You said at the same time Kayden did, getting a laugh out of it.
The delicious soup filled your stomach in less than 10 gulps and it wasn't until you put your bowl down that you realized how good it made you feel to fill that emptiness in you. The soup wasn't enough to make you sleepy after a nice meal and provided just enough nutrients for everyone to be able to face the fast-approaching escape without a problem. Mixed with the Biogel, you were back at the top of your games.
Arlan really made an error in taking care of the group.
"What now? What's your plan?" Hunter wondered, posing his container on the ground.
You met gaze with Kayden and he nodded confidently. "How well can you all swim in your armors?"
"In calm water, we are fine but slow. We can't go in strong water. The current will catch in the plastoid and will drag us down."
A hum resonated from within your throat and you pucker your lips. "You can't give them up. That scratch out the underground well and the waterfall." You taped your lips in thought. Watching Tech who still drank with only one hand, you knew that hiking wasn't an option as well. For now at least.
"Then it's the dark pit." Kayden pointed out.
It indeed was the last possible option. The other remaining one would be to use the front gates and it was the least possible one.
"Yeah. The other tunnels would take too long to get out and then we'd lose too much time walking back at the Old Man's cave." You recalled from your mental map of the jungle. "I'm fairly sure we have two hours until dawn. The Old Man's Cave is 15 minutes away from here if we run."
"Then we run." Hunter agreed.
"Now, to get out… Hey, big guy." Kayden called. "What's the name?"
"Wrecker." He answered proudly, almost puffing his chest out.
Kayden scoffed. "Obviously. Should'a figured." He turned to you. "Is it too late to change my name?"
The moron was too far for a shoulder slap, so you showed your exasperation with a roll of your eyes. "Stop screwing around and tell us your idea."
"Yeah yeah." The childish tone wasn't surprising on his part. He turned his attention back to the tall clone. "So, Wrecker, I bet you're experienced with big shafts so how good are you with pulse-hammers?" In a flash, you threw your empty container at his head with utmost precision that you knew Crosshair would be proud. The flying object was as unexpected for him as the inappropriate sentence was for you and hit him square on the forehead.
"I'll strangle you." You threatened.
"Kinky." He winked while nursing his forehead.
"With what?" Wrecker inquired, too focussed on the unknown term to pick up at the dirty joke.
"Her han-"
"Not that, morron." You cut him off. "The big hammer that exploded that tree back at the pit." You clarified for Wrecker.
"Oh! I've never used one before, but I'm sure it can't be that hard!" Excitement glimmered in his eyes at the perspective of using the powerful weapon.
"Oh believe me it's hard." Kayden smirked way too smugly for your taste.
"Okay. Time out. Planning is paused." You poked the palm of your hand with the fingertips of your other hand. "I call pervert veto card." You deadpanned.
"Oh hell no you can't!" Was there panic in his voice? Yes. Definitely.
"Oh heck yes I can! Once a year for 24 hours and I'm using it now." Thank the gods you'd not used it before.
"But-!"
"No but or butts. No sexual reference in any form, implied or not. 24 hours starting now." He glared at you from his spot two meters away. You could have laughed at his face that perfectly mirrored a kid who just got his Christmas gift stolen directly from its small weak hands.
"You're fucking me in the ass." He grumbled like an overgrown petulant child.
You lifted an eyebrow. "Try again. You can do it."
"Party pooper."
"There you go." As you turned to the rest of them, a laugh escaped your lips at the clones’ expressions.
Crosshair, despite his feelings blockade, was covering his mouth, Wrecker was laughing his ass off, Tech looked relieved behind his horrified eyes and Hunter chuckled. He appeared to be pleased and somewhat totally used to the situation, which grabbed your curiosity.
Later. You forced a cough to get everyone's attention. "Let's continue. To answer your question, Wrecker, handling a pulse-hammer is not hard. Only remember to not touch the head," You had to stop to point at Kayden in a threatening manner when you sensed a perverted comment about to escape his idiotic mouth despite the veto card being used. "And hit with the glowing side. If you hit with the other side, you'll damage the hammer and it'll be useless."
"I can do that!" Wrecker enthusiastically nodded.
"So we plan into exploding our way out of here? What do we do about Cross?" Tech pointed out what he thought was a flaw in your plan.
Right at this moment, Back-Up appeared before Kayden, its fluffy leaves puffing out in pride as Kayden removed the Master key from its belly pouch. What a marvelous creature they were. Being able to fit your own size in an extensible pouch that covered your body from your collarbone to your pelvis was truly amazing and more than practical.
"We'll split. Kayden will guide you guys to the emergency tunnel and I'll go get Cross. I'll meet you all as soon as I can."
You nearly hadn't finished that Hunter inevitably rejected your plan. "No. We stay together."
"We can't. You guys will be the decoy I need to sneak around and find him and having one of you with me will catch attention and slow me down." You cut Hunter as he still looked like he was about to be opposed. "I still have my comms and earbud. I'll contact you every 5 minutes." You offered in an attempt to compromise.
Silence stretched and you got up, already ready to depart. The tingling in your arms and leg had subsided some time ago and to your sweet surprise, applying weight on your leg didn't hurt as much as before.
Kayden unlocked the cells and a hand softly grabbed your forearm. "Fine. You comm every 5 minutes and you take this." He moved to Tech to rummage through his belt and hand you a pistol. "Use it if needed."
You took the pistol with a steady grip despite the uncertainty shaking your guts. It was the very first blaster you've ever had in your hand and it was heavier than you thought. "Don't worry. I will." You assured him, voice strong and unwavering.
But… could you really?

So I read the Hulk’s prequel comic to the Marvel’s Avengers video game and I’m sort of mapping out Bruce’s relationship with the Hulk from there up to his mental breakdown after A-Day and the Senate hearings:
Marvel’s Avengers: Hulk #1
The opening monologue to the comic is:
“Every moment, I know how close I am to slipping over the edge. Every moment, I’m trying to hold the beast at bay. Because if I fail, everyone pays the price.”
At this point in time, while Bruce and the Hulk are actively working with the Avengers, Bruce is trying to cure the “curse” of the Hulk.
When Bruce is attacked, he thinks:
“I should be dead... dead a hundred times over, maybe more... but the Hulk... the Hulk won’t let me die.”
And then when the Hulk is fighting:
“Maybe... maybe this will be enough. Enough power to stop this. Enough damage to kill the beast. Enough pain to end this nightmare.”
He ends the issue afraid of the Hulk taking over, telling Tony:
“The gaps are getting worse. I feel like I don’t have control anymore. Next time, maybe I won’t come back at all...”
The Avengers Disband audio files
This is from the transcript of Bruce’s initial testimony in the Senate hearings after the A-Day disaster:
Chairman: Now, your... transformation into the Hulk is not just at will. There are also emotional stimuli that can trigger the change and affect the duration, yes?
Dr. Banner: Yes. During times of... extreme stress, the Hulk takes over for long periods of time.
Chairman: And does that concern you, given the events of the last few months?
Dr. Banner: It does. It does.
Bruce’s Descent audio files
Then, shortly after the A-Day Senate hearings, Bruce says:
“When it gets bad like this, Hulk takes the reigns for longer and longer. I can't lose complete control. Not again.”
But then after Monica leaves him:
“And now I feel something brewing deep in my core. he is in there, just tormented by everything I've let happened. I want to give in to him. Into the abyss. It's just crushing me, and it's making him sick. Like the awful gravity of it all punched a black hole right through me and into him. And now we're both just empty and hollow. Before, when my feelings of happiness constricted him, he fought back. I can feel him fighting back against this. But this... it's different. I don't know if he can win. And I don't know if I want him to.”
And then once it becomes clear that Monica betrayed him and Bruce is estranged from the rest of the Avengers:
“I can't do it on my own. He wouldn't mope like this. We all wring our hands when the lion kills the gazelle, but he is beyond this fatal introspection. He simply is. He deserves to live more than I do, and I don't want to share this body anymore. Good night everyone.”
And then Bruce spends years as the Hulk and doesn’t turn back into Bruce until Kamala comes to the Chimera.
So Bruce goes from actively working towards a cure for the Hulk, being afraid of the Hulk hurting other people, framing the Hulk saving Bruce as not letting him die (as opposed to saving him), hoping that the villain will kill the Hulk, and being afraid of turning into the Hulk permanently, to then feeling that the Hulk deserves to live more than he does and willingly turning to the Hulk without intending to come back.

Ravnica for Goblins
Laws of the Guildpact
Laws are a big deal in most worlds. On Ravnica, laws are literally the only thing preventing ten massive armies of Sphinx, Angels, Demons, Lich, Elementals, Giants, Wizards, Ghosts, Nightmares, and Kaiju from tearing each other apart in perpetual war. How is this possible? It’s possible because the Guildpact is not just words on flimsy paper. Guildpact Laws are Unbreakable Magical Effects. When all ten Guilds agreed to the Guildpact, they granted it absolute power.
How and why would many of the more evil and chaotic Guilds agree to something like this? Because Ravnica’s Guildpact is designed not only to account for each and every Guild’s lifestyle, but to empower it. There are laws that protect necromancy, laws that protect human experimentation, laws that protect torture, laws that protect murder, and laws that actually protect breaking the law. In addition to laws protecting peaceful citizens and law enforcement officials.
How can any civilization function like this? Balance. You may not be able to arrest a Dimir Agent for stealing, but you can absolutely break their face in. The goal of Ravnica’s laws is to preserve all ways of life for the Guilds, for better & for worse. Within your Guild’s set legal parameters, you are not just free but empowered to carry out that lifestyle. That lifestyle is written into the laws and protected by them. Which is why the single most important law is that you’re not allowed to punish a Guild member for obeying the Guildpact.
This is the most important law, but also the law that ended up destroying the Guildpact. House Dimir’s duty is literally to oppose the Guildpact, so when their Parun decided to kill the Boros Parun in broad daylight and got arrested by a Boros Wojek, the system kinda broke itself. Punishing a Guild for obeying the Guildpact by disobeying the Guildpact, resulting in: Error.4 *does not compute*
Fast-forward to the days of Jace Beleren as the Living Guildpact, and the laws have changed somewhat. The only laws that are still magically binding are the laws Jace verbally confirms. Once he does that, the person he says it to need only speak the law aloud and it’s an instantly unbreakable magical effect.
Now comes the tricky, difficult, infuriating part. For being so vitally important to Ravnican life, we don’t actually know what most, or really almost any, of the laws are. How are players supposed to utilize the effects of written laws if they don’t actually exist? Why didn’t WotC release an official Guildpact? That’s because a document that can actually encompass everything the Guildpact is theoretically supposed to be able to do would be an absolutely massive undertaking for a Card Game Company that doesn’t really need it for their card game, just for those of us playing D&D in their setting. Furthermore, even if they did put in the work, create a document, and release it; the internet (that’s us!) would tear it apart for flaws & loopholes. The internet would give the Orzhov, the Dimir, and the Rakdos a run for their money. Hence WotC doesn’t want to do this because it’s literally just a recipe for self-defeat, migraines, and disaster.
So instead, they give us little bits here & there. Promotional materials, card flavor texts, character stories, etc. Here is pretty much everything I’ve been able to gather that is either an Official Guildpact Law, references Law Magic, sounds close enough to Law Magic, or even just sounds true enough to the spirit of a Guild’s core beliefs to be potentially acceptable for invoking Guildpact Magic:

Hand Me Downs
Breha gives Hera baby gifts. Which means she can pass them on to Leia for her child. (AO3 if you prefer)
No one had warned Hera that being a high-ranking member of the Rebel Alliance was going to involve ruffles. She was prepared for overwhelming odds, to risk her life against an enemy who gave no mercy. And in the early days, that was exactly what she got. A lot of sneaking around and flying and getting shot at and  wearing a flightsuit . Then she’d worked her way up through the ranks and found herself having to attend formal dinner parties that covered for high-ranking strategy sessions. The perils of being a general.
If she had a choice, she would have gone for formalwear with a bit of slink to it. But her rapidly expanding midsection didn’t lend itself well to that at all. The only dress she’d been able to find in... whatever her current size was took the philosophy that the bump could just blend in with the rest of the floof. Her attendance in her condition would surely fuel all sorts of gossip about her and the man Breha had chosen to sit her next to. Gossip was useful; it meant that everyone was speculating about her personal life instead of what they might actually be discussing. The trouble was it also meant they were speculating about her personal life and the child who hadn’t volunteered for this. It wasn’t even the worst thing to happen this week, but it felt so incredibly alien.
She wished she could talk to Kanan about it. He would have delivered some sort of over-the-top compliment. And then Ezra would have somehow still not noticed. At least she could still hope to explain to a very baffled Ezra where her child had come from.
But neither of them were here. Now she had the new constant figures of her life: Mon Mothma and the Organas. She trusted the high-ranking members of the Alliance; it would be disastrous if she couldn’t. She even liked them quite a bit. They were good people. Friends, even. They just weren’t family, and she wanted so much of that around right now.
Her glass represented their current target in the makeshift map they were drawing up on the dinner table. The fact that she was the only one currently restricted to water set it apart conveniently from the wine glasses representing rebel units. She tapped Bail’s glass. “If we bring the demolitions team in from the west, they’ll have the sanitation droids as cover.” Sabine would be thrilled, she was sure. Garbage had so much artistic merit.
Mon Mothma nodded. “And that will help minimize the collateral damage to the surrounding citizens.”
Ierlin Allston, head of their fledgling public relations department, nodded. “The benefits of that are pretty obvious.”
They probably didn’t need to consider it from the public image perspective. It was enough that it was right. But it was still a useful angle. Anything to win hearts and minds over in the fight against the Empire. While also winning key weapons factories. They had a solid plan that was sure to go out the window and require extensive improvisation, but at least they had something to build on now.
It was also as far as the plan could possibly go before that first engagement with the enemy. They were still waiting on several key intelligence reports Mon Mothma had hoped they would have in time for this session. There hadn’t been a way to postpone the dinner party that wouldn’t attract suspicion when the information. So they would have to fill the remainder of the dinner party with actual dinner party activity. Definitely not Hera’s specialty, that was more for those who had come here from the senatorial side of things.
“General Syndulla, a word?” She didn’t actually know enough about the etiquette of these sorts of parties to know if it was unusual for Breha to break away from her carefully balanced seating arrangement. They’d eaten most of the courses at this point, so perhaps mingling was entirely normal.
At any rate, when the Queen of Alderaan requested a word, one gave a word. She didn’t need to know anything about royal etiquette to realize that much. “Yes, of course.” How was she supposed to address her? They were on friendly terms, and in a flightsuit she would probably address her by name without a second thought. She really was out of her element in all these bolts of fabric. Who had bought out the store to construct this ridiculous dress? “Your Majesty?”
The queen smiled. “It can still be Breha.” She paused. “This is absolutely a personal interaction.”
Hera had almost forgotten what those felt like in recent months. They were always for family, but even the ones she could locate were scattered. Zeb and Kallus came by often, but they had their own work. It was often just her and Sabine, since Ezra vanished. And she didn’t want to put too much pressure on the girl. It wasn’t fair. “It is?”
“You know, Leia was rather unexpected.” It was obvious enough where that was coming from. No one had to be told that she hadn’t planned this. Even if Kanan had lived, they were in the middle of a war, and she still wasn’t quite sure how she was going to balance the baby with all of that. How she was going to keep him safe. He would need her to step back, especially at first, but he would also need a safe galaxy to grow up in. She had to find a way to give him a mother and a future at the same time. It would have been easier if Kanan were here to help. But she’d tried to stop dwelling on things that were well and truly impossible. She had to deal with the situation as it was.
“Wasn’t she adopted?” That was the sort of development one usually tried to plan. It didn’t just happen like having strange symptoms weeks after losing the love of her life and realizing that the Force apparently wanted more little Jedi running around. Or something like that.
Breha laughed warmly. “She was. The last days of the Clone Wars were the strangest.”
She’d only been a child then, but old enough to realize how quickly everything was changing. The galaxy suddenly looked completely different and as dangerous as ever. That was just never going to end, it would seem.
“We had talked about it, but I wasn’t expecting Bail to come home with a baby that day.”
Hera couldn’t even imagine. She was already struggling to prepare for her baby with months of warning. Having one just show up was a logistical nightmare. But she wasn’t sure where this was meant to be going. “You seem to have managed quite well. She’s remarkable.” The princess was involved in more missions of late. And she didn’t disappoint.
“There are... certain advantages to a hereditary home. The attics have more than anyone could possibly use in a lifetime. So it was easy to prepare a nursery.”
That wouldn’t really help on the emotional front, but sometimes logistics were the easiest thing to focus on. Their supplies had never been so well documented as right after the liberation of Lothal.
“I was wondering how you were doing on that front?”
“I...” She’d been trying to figure out how to care for the child. “Our usual suppliers don’t tend to trade in infant goods.”
“That’s what I thought.” She would never have expected a queen to be so practical before she met Breha. But what was government if not a giant exercise in logistics? She’d seen quickly that Princess Leia Organa had not been routinely handed off to nannies. They probably would have attempted to exert some sort of moderating influence to keep her out of the Rebellion. “Bail and I wanted to give you a few items. Some clothing, a travel bassinette. We have more spares than we could ever need. Leia could be a great-great-grandmother before we had to reuse a single item. It will go to so much better use with you, I think.”
“I...” She suddenly pictured items from a royal palace tucked into one of the Ghost’s empty rooms. The image was strange enough to bring laughter instead of the usual sadness at the state of those rooms. “That’s so generous.”
“Alderaan favours simplicity.” Translation: don’t worry, I’m not handing you something jewel encrusted to furnish a freighter. “The craftsmanship is excellent.”
Hera rested her hand on her belly, taking a moment to imagine her future. “He’ll be the most elegantly dressed baby at the spacestop.”
***
No one had warned Leia that victory would involve quite so many Functions. She should have been prepared for them, growing up in a royal palace, but after fighting a war for so long, she’d let herself forget. Now they moved more and more toward an actual government, and she had to learn an old role all over again. She’d gotten used to her days involving more strategy sessions than dinner parties.
Of course, she still had military officers approaching her. They just wore the notoriously unpopular dress uniform now. They had barely had a uniform at all when her parents first let her get involved in the Rebellion. Now there was a dress variant, and the people who wore it had no end of opinions. Even if a general would, of course, never breathe a word about it. “Senator, a word?”
Leia maneuvered herself around carefully. That was the only way she could actually move these days. Her small stature made her increasing bulk feel all the more unwieldy. “Of course, General.”
“It’s really more of a Hera conversation.” They’d known each other too long to always stand on ceremony. Right now, Leia didn’t much care for standing at all. “Can you handle the walk to the Ghost?”
“As long as there are chairs at the end.” At least they had enough history that she could admit that.
Hera nodded and started to lead the way. “How are you feeling?”
“Fine,” she said almost automatically.
Automatically enough that Hera immediately raised an eyebrow.
“Tired.” It was a completely different brand of exhaustion that the sleepless nights in a battle zone. Not necessarily worse, but unique. She’d never grown a human being before but it was taking more out of her than she was eager to admit. Especially when she was trying to convince her staff she wasn’t an invalid. “Exhausted, really.”
Hera smiled. “It’s like that a lot. I’m not going to lie and say it gets better, but it’s a nice sort of exhausted. Most of the time.”
“How’s your son doing? I hope he’s well.”
“He spent this last deployment with Zeb and Kallus. He’s amazing, even if keeping up with a Force sensitive child is more work than three full starfighter squadrons.”
More of a preview of her life than she meant it to be. Deep in her heart, she knew that was true, but she hadn’t had anyone who’d knowingly experienced that to talk to. She couldn’t have been that bad a child, could she have?
She probably had. “Just regular squadrons, I hope?”
Hera shook her head. “All of them are Rogue Squadron.  All   of them.” Current reports indicated that the general they were currently attached to was rapidly balding. Also making remarkable progress through former Imperial territory but in utterly exhausting and unexpected ways. “Of course, I don’t really have a non-Force sensitive child to compare him to. Sabine was already a teenager by the time she was in my life.”
She could handle it. At least she had some amount of Force sensitivity herself. Poor Han, she should warn him. Maybe have him talk to Hera, if they could stop arguing about the relative merits of their ships long enough to discuss anything else. This might actually be important enough to manage that.
Hera keyed in the sequence to open up the hatch and led the way into the common area. Which had some remarkably comfortable chairs. Well chosen. Maybe she could get Han to install something like this on the Falcon. At the very least she had to find out where these cushions came from. Maybe she could even sneak one for the next Function...
Once she was suitably settled to relieve her overtaxed feet, Hera tried several times to open a conversation. Finally, she managed, “It can be hard to stop thinking about who you desperately want to be there, with a child.”
Leia’s hand drifted to her belly. “Han’s the important part.” She’d worried a lot when he was off dealing with Kashyyyk. But he was back now and ready to be part of their son’s life. It wasn’t like what Hera had had to deal with when her son was born. She had so many others around her, it wasn’t fair to wish for the things she couldn’t have.
“A baby can never have too much family. The whole crew helped me with Jacen.” She reached over and took Leia’s hand. “And so did two people who would be the most delighted grandparents anyone could ask for.”
Hormones were completely unfair. She was a senator; she couldn’t go crying like this. “I keep thinking of all the traditions I always thought any child of mine would participate in.” There was a lot involved with being the heir to the throne of Alderaan. For all that she’d complained, she couldn’t have imagined back then things going another way. Her child wouldn’t be the heir to anything— only a field of rubble.
“I had no idea what I was going to do without Kanan. But your parents were so kind to me.” She’d been busy with her own missions and a certain amount of teenaged tunnel blindness, but she did remember General Syndulla being around more often in the months leading up to the Battle of Yavin. She’d assumed it was all about the Rebel Alliance getting more established and the longtime leaders having more work to do. But of course, a pregnancy would change the day to day activities of a general. For all that she told her staff she wasn’t an invalid, she did occasionally have to slow down.
“They were always like that.” That was why it hurt so much. The galaxy needed people who were that kind. She tried to carry on their legacy, but she could only do so much. It would never be enough.
Hera pulled two crates forward and opened the first to reveal an assortment of baby clothes. She handed Leia the top onesie to examine. It wasn’t the sort of clothes she would have expected an active rebel to pick out, but these must be Jacen’s old things. They didn’t get a lot of babies in the Rebellion, after all. She ran her hand over the fabric. “This is beautiful.” It almost felt like rannasilk. But the only place to get that was... “It can’t be...”
Hera handed her another piece of clothing. The same craftsmanship. The same material. “Your mother said she had more than she could ever dream of using.”
“I remember. We had more than we could ever need, but no sense letting perfectly good things sit by, even if they were a little bit too luxurious.” It wasn’t what most people expected of royalty. But Alderaan wasn’t like anywhere else in the galaxy.
“She told me you could be a great grandmother before they ever had to reuse any baby things.” And then all of that had gone to waste when Tarkin said fire. Except for these boxes.
Leia held the onesie to her heart. Any connection at all.
“The other crate is a few items of furniture. I assume you have something permanent set up at home, but they knew I was mostly going to be travelling.” Settling down only became a real possibility for any of them in the past year. And even that was slow going. “It would make a good shipboard nursery.”
She’d been surprised that Han was willing to make changes to the Falcon. Putting in a galley. If he’d do that for her, surely their baby would also be worth it. They weren’t going to leave any permanent marks, and there was that strange room that Lando kept referring to as his cape closet. There wasn’t much in there but junk now. They could sort through all of that and make space for the baby. Space for... she opened the crate.
A perfectly crafted travel bassinette. Just like she would have slept in for all but her very first trip to Alderaan. Artfully carved, solid craftsmanship. Though the straps attached inside didn’t look at all Alderaanian. A practical addition, but added with respect for the aesthetic. She tugged on them. Solid, that would keep a baby from going anywhere even if his father decided it was a good idea to go into an asteroid field. But also quite lovely.
“That was Sabine’s work. Alderaanian royal politics don’t tend to quite rival an active rebellion for excitement.”
“If you go far enough in our history...” There was a reason Alderaanian royals had found themselves drawn to rebellion. She’d like to think it was all about justice. But they didn’t come from a tradition of sitting quietly, no matter what her tutors had tried to convince her of at the time. “I hope they’re never necessary.”
“That’s what we all hope for our children. And we actually have a chance at giving it to them, thanks to the work your parents started.” Started. They’d all continued it. And now, her child would have more of a link to that than she’d ever dreamed.
“I don’t know how to thank you enough for this gift.” She didn’t expect anything from family for the next generation. It would have been a foolish hope. That was all lost years ago in the worst moment of her life. Except, it seemed, this one gift. Because her parents had taken the time to care for someone else. They couldn’t have known this would come back to her; they were expecting her to use the rest of the excess in the palace’s vast storage.
She would have to teach her child to be like them. Dreaming cradled in this gift they didn’t know they were giving him.

Summary:  When Tup murdered General Tiplar during a battle, Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex dispatched Ahsoka, Fives, and Yara to solve the mystery that was plaguing the Clone Army. Meanwhile, Senator Padme Amidala contacted Commander Fox, Commander Tori, Riyo Chuchi, and Dipper to help her continue investigating the death of Palpatine, suspecting that Dooku was behind the evil plot. But when Dooku send an ISB agent to stop them, the team had to race against time to search for the truth, which could alter the course of the galaxy.
————————————————————————————
“How long till we reach the checkpoint, general?” Thire asked, standing in front of him.
“We’ll reach there in half an hour,” Raul answered, glancing at the holomap of Mendes. From what he’s gathered so far, there were millions of people living there and were protected by the main city gate. The entire purpose was to protect the citizens from wild animals, though they were lucky enough to not encounter any of them.
Out of all the terrains he explored in his lifetime, the tropical jungle was his least favourite. Besides the irritating blood-sucking insects and intense humid air, Raul was often told that the jungle was a good place for people to get lost and never be seen ever again. His mother would say that the spirits living in the jungle handle people’s disappearance, but he felt it was the wild beasts that may have caused it.
In his childhood, Raul dreamed about living in a tropical climate and building a treehouse with Erina. Unfortunately, during his first experience as a Scout, he changed his mind. He decided that the jungle wasn’t for him and wished to live in a tundra-like climate instead, where everything was peaceful.
Mina analysed the map over and over and wondered about the main city gate, which was guarded by the Imperial droids. “General,” she spoke, raising her hand. “I don’t want to sound stupid, but what’s with the large gate, anyway? Was that necessary?”
“The entire purpose was to protect the inhabitants of wild animals at night,” Raul smiled. “It’s been there since the city was built, but the Empire took advantage of that protection and turned it into a tool of oppression instead.”
“That’s terrible,” she remarked. “I’m sure the people of Hocura are confined to their miserable lives.”
“From what I’ve heard, there are lots of things to do on Hocura, but I agree with you, commander. People were doing well before the Empire showed up on their doorsteps.”
Stone’s fist clenched as he heard Raul and Mina’s conversation. “We’ll defeat the Imps once we reach there.”
Raul chuckled. “That’s the spirit, trooper. We’ll do everything we can to destroy the power generator without letting innocent civilians die.”
“I agree, general,” Thire said, holding his weapon. “The last thing we want is the Empire blaming us for the death tolls of civilians. Whatever we’re doing now is now being weaponized by the Emperor to make us look bad.”
“That’s the whole point of propaganda,” Mina said. “It paints our opponents as the villains. I’m sure the Republic is guilty of that too, not that I’m against our forces, of course.”
Nygma raised her eyebrows. “No one is saying that to you, commander.”
“I know, but just in case you guys have doubts about me, I have to assure you I am on your side just to calm you down.”
“That sounds exactly like what a traitor would say.”
“Relax, Nygma,” the other Mina spoke out. “We’ve been fighting side-by-side for years now. There is no way she would betray us after what we went through together. Besides, when was the last time you slept, anyway?”
He let out a sigh, rubbing his eyes. “How can I sleep when you have the same nightmares over and over again?”
She nodded, her lips pressed together. “I know that feeling, too. I even started losing count on how many of those nightmares I had, you know.”
Thire and Stone joined in the conversation, relating to their similar experience. “We also had that kind of dream every night, too. Why do you think we Corrie Guards do night duty in the first place?”
“But of course, since we had a new boss, we had to re-experience the same thing when we dozed off.”
“Correct me if I’m wrong,” Commander Mina raised her hand. “But was it the nightmare where we killed a Jedi and we couldn’t do anything about it?”
“Bingo,” Nygma fingered a gun at her. “That dream was the reason I woke up in the middle of the night.”
“Keep it down, or the general will hear us,” Stone hissed, gesturing to the both of them.
But Raul was listening to their conversation. From what he knows about dreams, they were common among sentient beings as it is part of their brain processing when they were asleep. He knew also that nightmares are normal and dreams about being chased or falling down recur from time-to-time. But dreaming about killing a Jedi every night was intriguing for him, and he wants to learn more about their problems.
“So, what were you talking about?” Raul asked, his legs crossed.
Thire and Mina darted eyes with each other as Nygma glanced away from the general, focusing on the blank wall instead. For a moment, the general checked on his gloved hands as he waited for at least one of them to break the awkward silence between them. The other Mina turned to Stone, who was wiping his helmet, wondering if she should say something to Raul. The last thing she wanted was to keep him waiting.
After what seemed to be forever, the other Mina decided to do the honours. “We were just having a small talk with each other, that’s all.”
“Are you sure, Mina?” Raul gave her a delicate smile. “The long silence was rather telling, if you asked me.”
“It’s personal between us clones,” Thire convinced, clearing his throat. “You wouldn’t understand anyway, no offence.”
“None taken, Thire. Besides, I majored in psychology in college, so I know a few things about dreams and how it can mirror our making moments, you know.”
“That’s really interesting, general,” Mina chuckled, feeling her sweat pouring from her forehead. “But we’re good, so thanks, anyway.”
Before Raul could say anything, Beetle called from the driver’s seat, prompting him to get up from his seat. “We’ll be having this discussion after our mission is completed.”
Thire nodded as he watched him walk away. His heart was pounding, realizing that no matter what, Raul will insist on talking about their nightmares. The fact that the general referred to him by his first name was odd, since Palpatine never did that.
“Does the general always call you by your first name?” he asked Commander Mina, tapping on her shoulder.
“Yeah, he does,” she bobbed her head. “But in my case, he had to address me by my rank since there’s another vod’ika with the exact name as mine.”
Turning to the other Mina, she glared at her, crossing her arms. The other Mina stretched her lips, hiding her hands. “In my defense, I didn’t expect to be in the same battalion with you.”
“Why not change to a different name instead?” Stone placed his hands on his waist. “It’s really confusing when there’s two clones in the same battalion with the same name.”
“The name was stuck already and besides, Mina was the only name I could think of.”
“Well then, I can’t argue with the name Mina.”
As they were laughing, Raul approached them with a stiff face, ready to give them new orders. “We’re almost to the city of Mendes. Get into position, all of you.”
“Yes, general,” Nygma acknowledged, as he and the rest of his siblings put on their helmet, loading their blasters.
The city’s gate was made from stone, which was covered with cushiony moss and spotty mushrooms. The general stood between Beetle and Bouncy, who were piloting the Imperial Troop Transport, observing the two B1 battle droids guarding the front door to the Hocuran city. *This looks like a piece of cake.*
The transport stopped in front of the gate and allowed the droids to inspect their vehicle without suspicion. Nygma and the other Mina waited as the rest of the 197th and the Corrie Guards were still as a lake. The moment the droids stepped inside, Commander Mina and Thire blasted them into bits, lasting for two seconds.
Nygma and the other Mina stepped out of the vehicle and searched through the Imperial checkpoint. The latter grabbed a clipper and cut the wires from the radio while the former pressed the button, signalling to the troops that they were all clear.
Heading back inside, the duo met Raul, whose lips were curled upwards. “You guys did great out there. Well done, I’m proud of you both.”
“It was nothing, general,” Nygma shrugged it off. “Besides, this is only the easy part. We haven’t gotten to the hard part yet.”
“You’re right,” Commander Mina agreed. “We have a long way to go before we defeat the Empire on Hocura.”
“We should contact General Kenobi and General Almarez-Guttierez,” Thire suggested.
“Good thinking, Commander,” Raul said. “Let them know that we have opened the city’s gate.”
“Sir, yes, sir.”

In return, vestiges of Snoke's power delivered a punishment greater than anything either the fallen Knight or the last Jedi could imagine. Together forever, eternally apart.

Kylo Ren isn’t fool enough to believe that her capture was a happy accident. He didn’t believe it was good fortune, and he believed least of all that it had anything to do with the reconnaissance skills of Hux’s half-wit stormtroopers. If they have The Girl Called Rey in custody, it is because she meant for it to happen. It was because she had a plan and this was a step in executing it.

At the age of five, Ben Solo built his first droid. At the age of ten, he manifested and started to see her everywhere. At the age of eleven, he was sent to train with Luke. He still saw her. When he was fifteen, she disappeared. He was twenty-three when he left Ben Solo behind and became someone who wouldn’t trust blindly ever again. He became Kylo Ren. He meets her for the first time when he’s on the cusp of turning thirty. These were the events that shaped Ben Solo and in turn, Kylo Ren.

And, instead of being left on Jakku, Rey has been trained in the Force from childhood to help redeem the Palpatine name in the eyes of the galaxy's highest social circles. Now the princess of the ultimate Sith is due to make her debut, on the arm of her betrothed, Armitage Hux. Across the Stars: Chapter 4
AO3 | FFN
[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]
Summary: Tensions between the Separatists and the Republic are climbing as the Senate debates whether there is need for an army. Anakin Skywalker, Senator of Tatooine, has recently returned to Coruscant to speak against its formation, resulting in an assassination attempt that forces him to reunite with long time friends Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and the newly knighted Padme Naberrie for his own protection. [Anidala]
(Or, an Attack of the Clones Roleswap AU)
A/N: Aka the Obi-Wan centric chapter where I take Obi-Wan’s clone quest and put it all into one chapter.
With Padmé and Anakin having left Coruscant for Tatooine a few hours prior, it was now time for Obi-Wan to get to work so he could help the Senator return to his job of stopping the war before it got too far out of hand. The temple archives had little information on the poison dart, and so he was forced to find information somewhere else. His first stop was a small diner in the middle of Coruscant, to visit an old friend. He stepped in, and bowed to the droid that was taking the information. "I'm here to see Dex."
"Someone to see ya, honey! Jedi, by the looks of him," The droid called in the back, and before long a besalisk emerged from the kitchen, a huge grin on his face.
"Obi-Wan!"
"Hello, Dex." Obi-Wan smiled. The visit may not have been a social visit, but it had been far too long since they'd last spoken anyways.
"Take a seat. I'll be right with ya." Dex indicated the booth by the door, and Obi-Wan sat down, accepting the droid's offer of jawa juice while he waited for his friend to re-emerge from the back of the diner.
It wasn't long before Dex finished his prep work and sat across from Obi-Wan. "Hey, old buddy! So, my friend, what can I do for ya?"
Obi-Wan pulled out the white dart, placing it in Dex's hand, watching as he looked at it with interest. "You can tell me what this is."
Thankfully, it didn't take long for recognition to form on Dex's face. "Well, whattaya know! I ain't seen one of these since I was prospectin' on Subterrel, beyond the outer rim." Beyond the Outer Rim? Just where had the bounty hunter after Anakin even come from?
"Can you tell me where it came from?" An answer of the system or planet would help greatly narrow down the search, perhaps he could find who was after Senator Skywalker long before the vote he was partaking in was decided.
"This baby belongs to them cloners. What you got here is a Kamino saberdart."
Obi-Wan frowned. Dex knew that so easily… "I wonder why it didn't show up in the analysis archives."
"It's these funny little cuts on the side that give it away. Those analysis droids only focus on symbols. Huh! I should think that you Jedi would have more respect for the difference between knowledge and wisdom." Dex let out a laugh, and for a moment Obi-Wan let himself get caught up in joking with an old friend.
"Well, if droids could think, there'd be none of us here, would there?" He frowned moments later, trying to figure that out. Kamino? Cloners? "Kamino. I'm not familiar with it. Is it in the Republic?"
"No, no. It's beyond the outer rim. I'd say about, uh, twelve parsecs outside the Rishi Maze. Should be easy to find, even for those droids in your archives." That's right, Dex had mentioned that Kamino was outside the Outer Rim earlier, hadn't he? Either way, the knowledge that it was in the Rishi Maze greatly helped him reduce the search radius he'd need to check.
"These Kaminoans keep to themselves."
Dex nodded. "They're cloners. Damn good ones too."
There was the mention of the word again. Was there really an entire group of people who could clone others easily. "Cloners. Are they friendly?"
"Oh, depends." The way Dex said that made Obi-Wan feel ill at ease.
"Depends on what, Dex?" he asked, the way Dex leaned back with a smile made him feel a bit more like it was a joke, at least.
"On how good your manners are, and how big your pocketbook is." Well given how Obi-Wan had no intention of purchasing any clones, that second wasn't a matter of concern, and the first...well, Obi-Wan was rather popular. He was sure he could win the Kaminoans over without issue.
"That was quite informative, Dex." Obi-Wan smiled, thanking his friend. "I believe you've helped me tremendously with my search." Given him a starting point, if nothing else.
Dex simply laughed. "Always a pleasure Obi-Wan. Whatever mystery you Jedi are working on, I hope you manage to solve it soon." So did Obi-Wan, he could only imagine what Anakin was putting his poor Padawan through alone, given the reputation he had.
-x-
Having a place to start was helpful, at least in Obi-Wan's mind, as he searched through the Jedi archives with new energy and attention. Before, he'd relied exclusively on the Droid's intel, but with Dex's direction. It wasn't long before he'd gone over all the information on Kamino that the Jedi had.
Mostly because, he realized with a frown, there was no info to be had. Which was a problem. How did Dex know about this system but not the Jedi? Evidently, he'd been radiating his displeasure enough for it to be sensed in the temple, because moments later the main Jedi archivist, Jocasta, arrived. "Are you having a problem, Master Kenobi?"
Well, if he couldn't find it, then perhaps she would be able to help him locate the hidden planet. "Yes, I'm looking for a planetary system called Kamino."
"Kamino?" The fact that it wasn't even recognizable to Jocasta, that she'd never even heard of it, was concerning. Did that mean that it didn't exist? But that still didn't make sense if Dex recognized it.
"It doesn't show up on the archive charts." Obi-Wan attempted to explain his problem, which in turn caused Jocasta to frown.
"It's not a system I'm familiar with. Are you sure you have the right coordinates?"
"According to my information, it should appear in this quadrant here... just south of the Rishi Maze." She stepped in afterwards, looking at the archives and starting to search for information. Something that never ceased to amaze Obi-Wan was just how well Jocasta knew them. He wouldn't be surprised if she was the only person who knew the entire system and how to work it best.
After a few moments of her search, she ceased, the frown growing deeper as her forehead creased, showing her displeasure. "I hate to say it, but it looks like the system you're searching for doesn't exist."
Didn't exist? But then how could Dex have been there? How could the dart have come from there? How could a bounty hunter be targeting Senator Skywalker from a place that simply didn't exist. It didn't make any sense. "Impossible. Perhaps the archives are incomplete." That had to be the explanation.
"If an item does not appear in our records, it does not exist." Jocasta left the computer to allow Obi-Wan to continue his research. "I apologize, Master Kenobi, there's nothing more I can do to help.
"Thank you for your time then, Master Nu." He bowed his head and stood up, leaving the archives behind. He needed help from somebody older and wiser, perhaps somebody on the council could fit the bill. Mace was currently in the Senate, attempting to help navigate things and stall the vote as a favor to Anakin, and at the current moment hardly anybody else on the council was even on Coruscant, the efforts to delay the war and find peace having spread the Order out to barebones.
That left him with one option. He hoped Yoda wouldn't mind the interruption as he approached the creche, looking at the younglings as they learned the same lessons he had once been taught. There were several, most of them growing near the age where they could be considered to start becoming Padawans. He smiled, perhaps one of the faces here could end up under his tutelage, or the tutelage of Padmé should she so choose.
"Younglings! A visitor we have." It appeared he was unable to hide his presence for long, as the moment he entered the room, Yoda ceased his teaching and brought the attention of each of the kids to his presence. They greeted him in echo, each looking at him with wide eyes. The tales of him managing to kill a Sith had brought attention to him by these kids who thought of Sith as nothing more than nightmares and monsters in bedtime stories.
He waved to the younglings. "Hello. I'm sorry to disturb you, Master."
"What help can I be, Obi-Wan? Hmm?" Thankfully, the old master seemed unfazed, merely greeting Obi-Wan with a twinkle in his eye and a smile, which helped to alleviate some of the guilt he felt at interrupting the lesson.
"I'm looking for a planet described to me by an old friend." Obi-Wan explained, catching the look Yoda gave him as he attempted to continue his explanation. "I trust him, but the systems don't show on the archive maps."
"Lost a planet Master Obi-Wan has. How embarrassing." Yoda laughed, and so did many of the younglings watching him. Perhaps had Obi-Wan been less affected by the situation, he might have found it funny as well, if he was honest. Still, moments later, the laughter died down, and Yoda turned serious again. "Liam, the shades. Gather round the map reader. Clear your minds and find Obi-Wan's wayward planet we will." The room turned dark as one of the human Younglings, Obi-Wan assumed Liam, closed the window, reducing the light in the area.
Sensing that was his cue, Obi-Wan pulled out a holoprojector of the space around the area, what little information he had managed to find based on what Dex had said. "It ought to be here, but it isn't." He indicated a dark spot with nothing there. "Gravity is pulling all the stars in the area towards this spot."
Yoda looked over the map as though he was solving the puzzle as he looked at it. "Gravity's silhouette remains, but the star and all the planets, disappeared they have." He turned to the younglings, waiting for an answer. "How can this be? Hmm? A thought? Anyone?"
One of the initiates, a girl with dark hair and eyes raised her hand. "Because someone erased it from the archive memory." The answer was the most simple and obvious of the explanations, and yet...
"Truly wonderful the mind of a child is." Yoda smiled, proud of the girl. "The youngling is right. Go to the center of gravity's pull... and find your planet you will." Moments later, he stopped, as though realizing exactly what he had said. "The data must have been erased."
"But, Master Yoda, who could empty information from the archives? That's impossible, isn't it?" It didn't make sense. None of them would have had motive to remove Kamino from the archives entirely, it seemed that none of them had even heard of the system before. If that was the case, then why had it been removed?
Yoda remained silent for a moment before finally responding, "Dangerous and disturbing this puzzle is. Only a Jedi could have erased those files." Yoda had come up to the same conclusion he had, that the removal of the files was an inside job. "But who and why, harder to answer. Meditate on this I will."
"Thank you, Master Yoda." Obi-Wan bowed to the Grandmaster, grateful for his help, and turned to leave.
"Wait! Master Kenobi!" Before he could step out, another young girl, a Togruta, smiled at him. "Why do you need to find this planet anyways? I know if it was deleted it had to be important at some point, but that doesn't explain why you're looking for it now."
Obi-Wan hesitated. "What is your name?"
"Ahsoka Tano," she answered with no hesitation.
"Well, Ahsoka, I'll tell you what. Once I return from my mission, come look for me. I'll be happy to answer that question when somebody's life is no longer in jeopardy should people find out I'm searching."
Ahsoka's eyes shined. "I'll hold you to it."
-x-
It had taken a few days to make it outside of the Outer Rim to the dead space where Kamino lay. Obi-Wan had expected it to be empty. If he was honest, a part of him couldn't wrap his head around the fact that a Jedi had willingly erased an entire system from the archives, yet the evidence was right in front of him as he came across a storm covered planet. It was raining, but R4 was a good copilot and a reliable astromech, he could rely on the droid to get him down with ease, and it wasn't long before he was stepping out of his ship and onto the only building in what had appeared otherwise as a giant ocean.
He entered, expecting a cold welcome from what appeared to be a strange species of sentients. They were tall, taller than most other sentient species he had met though most of their height came from their necks, and a sickly shade of white, the same colors as the walls and floors they favored. They were harsh looking creatures, and a part of Obi-Wan couldn't help but worry for his safety as was noticed by one. "Master Jedi. The prime minister is expecting you."
What? "I'm expected?" That had been about as far from what Obi-Wan had been planning for when he set foot on the strange planet as this could get. His hand went to his lightsaber, just in case he needed to make a quick escape.
"Of course. He is anxious to meet you." The Kaminoan smiled at Obi-Wan, an expression that left him uncomfortable, as though it was an appearance for his sake over genuine happiness at the Jedi's arrival. "After all these years we were beginning to think you weren't coming. Now, please, this way." She led the way deeper into the facility, and Obi-Wan tried to take in as much as he could, keeping his eye out for the potential assassins or bounty hunters. "May I present Lama Su, prime minister of Kamino. And this is MasterJedi…" She indicated Obi-Wan, who bowed out of respect.
"Obi-Wan Kenobi."
Lama Su nodded, showing acknowledgement of the introduction. "I trust you're going to enjoy your stay." He continued immediately, not giving Obi-Wan a chance to respond. "And now to business. You will be delighted to hear that we are on schedule. Two hundred thousand units are ready with a million more well on the way."
It took all of his energy to keep the surprise out of his voice. "That's good news." Two hundred thousand units of what? He remembered what Dex had told him of the Kaminoans. They couldn't mean…
"Please tell your Master Sifo-Dyas that his order will be met on time." Lama Su's voice pulled him out from his thoughts, reminding him he couldn't linger on what exactly this meant right now if he wanted to know more.
Speaking of, that was another surprise to hear. "I'm sorry. Master–"
"Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas is still a leading member of the Jedi Council, is he not?" If they were waiting on Sifo-Dyas, that explained a fair amount of just what was going on, and why they had waited so long.
"Master Sifo-Dyas was killed almost ten years ago."
Lama Su frowned, though he didn't seem all that bothered. "Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. But I'm sure he would have been proud of the army we've built for him."
"The army?" For the third time today, Obi-Wan was thrown off balance by information from the Kaminoans, and he'd only been there ten minutes.
"Yes. A clone army, and I must say, one of the finest we've ever created." There was pride in his voice. Pride at the clones, and at the army he had made, yet Obi-Wan was bothered. An army of people specifically crafted for war showing up now of all times. It seemed almost...too perfect. He thought back to Senator Skywalker's concerns about the bill that would be coming up soon. Could it all be connected?
"Tell me, Prime Minister, when my master first contacted you about the army, did he say who it was for?" There was only one way for Obi-Wan to confirm his theory, at least.
"Of course he did. This army is for the Republic." Obi-Wan felt his blood run cold at the answer. "But you must be anxious to inspect the units for yourself."
He put on a fake smile. "That's why I'm here."
"Then in that case, let us begin the tour." Lama Su placed his hands on a scanner, and within moments they were allowed inside the clone facility. It was, in its own way, a feat of ingenuity, and an impressive sight to see. On either side of them as they walked, hundreds of individual clones, most with a Mandalorian esque white armor on though some with their helmets off, wandered the floors of the facility. Some were practicing using blasters, others were simply conversing, and others studying in a classroom. It was...a lot to take in, to say the least.
The Kaminoan, who had left him with Lama Su, had briefly left, but returned moments later with one of the many clones, though this one slightly different due to his blond hair. "Sir."
"Jedi Master Kenobi, might I introduce you to CT-7567." She indicated the clone, who was standing rigidly at attention waiting for orders. It was...uncomfortable.
"At ease." Obi-Wan watched as the clone relaxed moments later, and stuck out his hand, which the clone looked at warily. "Don't worry, my friend, I have no intentions of harming you with it, just introductions."
"Of course." The clone grabbed his hand to shake it, but was still clearly ill at ease in all of this. "As you've already been told I'm CT-7567. I was a part of the first batch, sir."
Obi-Wan frowned slightly. "Yes, so I can assume. Tell me, do you have a name besides these designation numbers?"
"Rex, sir." If he was going to end up working with these clones at some point, Obi-Wan was definitely going to make sure that the numbers first introduction was long gone. That was one thing he'd work on.
"Very well, Rex." He smiled, and Rex further relaxed, as though sensing that Obi-Wan meant him no harm. Deciding he could use this as a moment to ask questions without seeming clueless as to what was happening, Obi-Wan decided to take advantage of it. "Rex, can you tell me why you and the other clones were created?"
"My brothers and I were created to serve the Republic if there was ever a need." They were on the Republic's side, though the answer told Obi-Wan little. "I'm assuming there's a need for us now?" He almost seemed...eager, as though he was dying to get out and see the world outside the cloning facilities. His desire to explore almost reminded Obi-Wan of a young initiate who had stolen away on the ship of another Jedi to prove that she could handle the outside world. If this army was ever needed, he'd have to do his best to ensure that Padmé was the one who got a chance to work with Rex. The two would work well together.
"Not quite, a war hasn't broken out–" yet "-but there may be one on the horizon. Perhaps you and your brothers will be out in the real world sooner than you think." He purposefully used the term brothers. The clone's terms for how they define themselves were more important than anything else.
"Understood." Rex nodded, before the Kaminoan left to return him to the rest of the clones, leaving Obi-Wan once more alone with Lama Su.
"Very impressive."
"I'd hoped you would be pleased." Lama Su certainly seemed happy with the fact that Obi-Wan was impressed, at least. "Clones can think creatively. You will find that they are immensely superior to droids. We take great pride in our combat education and training programs. It's important to prepare them as quickly as possible, so they'll be prepared for any situation they might encounter."
Obi-Wan frowned at the sound of that. Something about the way Lama Su mentioned speed. "You mentioned that they need to be prepared as quickly as possible. Is there a reason for that?"
"Of course. The clones are genetically modified to age at an accelerated rate for quick production and results. If they weren't, a mature clone would take a lifetime to grow. Now we can do it in half the time."
He could understand why, disturbing implications into what that meant for the clones aside. "I see."
"They are totally obedient, taking any order without question." Lama Su continued on as though nothing out of the ordinary had been said, Obi-Wan felt his skin crawl. That wasn't like an army. That was like a slave. "We modified their genetic structure to make them less independent than the original host."
Had he not been looking for somebody clearly not Kaminoan, he might have focused on that detail in particular, but right now, his mission for Anakin took precedence. He could worry about the clones later. "And who was the original host?"
"A bounty hunter called Jango Fett."
"And where is this bounty hunter now?" This might be the lead Obi-Wan was looking for, and if not, it might have enough info to allow for him to ascertain whether or not at least there was something more disturbing at the center of this mystery.
"Oh, we keep him here." That made his life significantly easier. "Apart from his pay, which is considerable, Fett demanded only one thing: an unaltered clone for himself. Curious, isn't it?"
"Unaltered?"
Lama Su nodded, confirming that Obi-Wan had heard correct. "Pure genetic replication. No tampering with the structure to make it more docile and no growth acceleration." So the clone with him wouldn't be an older man, but a younger boy.
"I should very much like to meet this Jango Fett." He supposed it didn't matter.
"I will talk to Tuan We about introducing you when she returns." Lama Su turned back to the facility, looking over the clones. "For now, I will continue our tour."
-x-
Not longer after, the Kaminoan, Tuan We, returned from taking Rex back to his fellow and Obi-Wan was following her through pristine white halls. Despite that no clones would be here aside from the single, unaltered one that Tuan We mentioned, the facility had not felt anymore welcome in what were clearly its living areas. She stopped at a door and knocked, and a young boy opened the door. "Boba, is your father here?"
"Yep." Boba gave a short answer, and a glare at Obi-Wan.
"May we see him?"
"Sure." After a moment more of uncomfortable staring, Boba stepped out of the way of the door to let Obi-Wan in. "Dad, Taun We's here."
Tuan We entered and smiled at the bounty hunter, although Obi-Wan doubted she cared one way or the other about how he was doing. "Jango, welcome back. Was your trip productive?"
"Fairly." A Mandalorian man stood off to the side of the room, clearly the bounty hunter template for the clones. Obi-Wan however frowned. If Jango had recently left the world, then it was possible that…
"This is Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. He's come to check on our progress." Tuan We's introduction forced Obi-Wan to move on from his train of thought for now, and he put on an attempt at a pleasant grin, likely only succeeding due to his ability to keep a facade in the most trying of circumstances.
"Your clones are very impressive. You must be very proud."
"I'm just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe." Jango's answer was evasive, a bad sign if Obi-Wan had ever seen one.
He decided to press him for more answers. "Ever made your way as far into the interior as Coruscant?"
"Once or twice."
"Recently?"
"Possibly."
"Then you must know Master Sifo-Dyas." Obi-Wan watched as Jango stiffened slightly, it was for but a moment, and something somebody who wasn't trained as a Jedi would be unlikely to catch, but the change in body language was all Obi-Wan needed to know that Jango was hiding something.
Jango said something to Boba in another language, possibly two seeing as he recognized some of it as Mando'a from his time guarding the Duchess from harm. "Master who?" he asked.
"Sifo-Dyas. Is he not the Jedi who hired you for this job?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Never heard of him," Jango said.
"Really?"
"I was recruited by a man called Tyranus on one of the moons of Bogden." The answer to Obi-Wan's question could not have possibly been worse, if he was honest. There were no Jedi he'd even heard of named Tyranus.
"Curious." And leading to so many more questions. If Sifo-Dyas commissioned the army, then why hadn't he found Jango for this.
"Do you like your army?" Jango took back control of the conversation, making it relatively clear that this line of questioning was over, or at least it was for now.
"I look forward to seeing them in action." Obi-Wan bowed, making it clear that he was ending the conversation as well. Besides, he'd gotten the information he'd needed, or at least a new lead to explore. "They'll do their job well. I'll guarantee that. Thank you for your time, Jango."
"Always a pleasure to meet a Jedi." From Jango's remarks, it was clear to Obi-Wan that he was being dismissed. So he left. Besides, he was sure he'd need to contact the council on these matters. It was urgent that they be kept in the loop of what was going on.

As soon as he left the facility and the Kaminoans behind, Obi-Wan pulled up his comm unit, and within moments, a holographic version of Yoda and Master Windu appeared in front of him. "I have successfully made contact with the prime minister of Kamino." He reported, not wanting to waste any time. "They are using a bounty hunter named Jango Fett to create a clone army. I have a strong feeling that this bounty hunter is the assassin we are looking for."
Mace frowned, and Obi-Wan couldn't blame him. The whole situation reeked of suspicious circumstances. "Do you think these cloners are involved in the plot to assassinate Senator Skywalker?"
Obi-Wan shook his head. As far as he could tell, the clones were unrelated. Or he wanted to believe they were, at least. Rex had left a good impression on him, after all. "No, Master. There appears to be no connection between them."
"Do not assume anything, Obi-Wan. Clear your mind must be if you are to discover the real villains behind this plot." Yoda was right, even if Rex and as a result, his brothers, seemed like they were good. He had to try to look at this objectively. Anything involved with Kamino was suspicious.
"Yes, Master." For now though, Obi-Wan decided not to linger. "They say Master Sifo-Dyas placed an order for a clone army at the request of the senate almost ten years ago. I was under the impression he was killed before that. Did the council ever authorize the creation of a clone army?"
There was a look of surprise on both Mace's and Yoda's faces, as though they had not expected this. Their reaction was enough that no answer would be necessary, but Mace still gave him one anyways. "No. Whoever placed that order did not have the authorization of the Jedi Council."
"Bring him here. Question him we will." It made the most sense. Jango was the most suspicious figure here. Perhaps he could shed some light on the mysterious events.
"Yes, Master. I will report back when I have him." Obi-Wan hung up for now, and looked to the corner of the building to see Jango preparing to escape.
That was going to make his job a lot harder.

Obi-Wan had planted a tracker on the Fetts' ship, and fortunately for him, it seemed to have paid off as he piloted himself down towards the desert planet of Geonosis. He landed the ship down on a plateau, and entered one of the caves. He needed to avoid being seen if he wanted to gather as much information as he could. He extended his senses using the Force, careful of any other beings he ran into as he went deeper in.
Slowly, his footsteps started getting louder, despite attempts to silence them, and he looked down to see that the floor had become metal. Geonosis wasn't known for an industrial sector, and he felt ill at ease. As he continued down the hallway, everything felt more and more wrong, the stalactites replaced by metal columns, and the cave walls smoothed down. At the sight of a window, Obi-Wan looked down to see thousands of droids being manufactured. Battle droids, similar to those they had faced on Naboo a little over ten years ago.
He continued down the hallway, only to freeze as he heard voices.
"We must persuade the Commerce Guild and Corporate Alliance to sign the treaty."
"What about the senator from Tatooine." Obi-Wan froze at that statement. These people...they were the ones who hired the assassins to go after Anakin. "Is he dead yet? I'm not signing your treaty until I have his head on my desk. Every policy he pitches for the 'good' of his people is making it harder and harder for us to make a profit."
He thought back to the bills Anakin had been working on recently. He hadn't been following the young Senator closely (that had been Padmé who'd kept tabs on what he was doing in the political sphere) but it was clear that within the year he had been working in the Senate, he'd managed to find quite a few enemies.
"I am a man of my word, viceroy." Obi-Wan frowned. Viceroy. There were dozens of viceroys in the galaxy, but only one who was invested in profit to the point that what Anakin was doing was likely a detriment. He heard more voices further down, likely the Commerce Guild and Corporate Alliance signing an agreement to join this cause, but Obi-Wan didn't have time to listen in.
The Viceroy of the Trade Federation, Nute Gunray, was the one behind the assassination attempts.
He had to tell the council.
