His every renditions note was as though it carried his audience for the Filipinos into realm of melodies and music. He won 1st place, part of Grand Champion's role because of these talented youth performances. It was through this gripping performance that he became one of the biggest stars in Philippine music scene especially after millions across the country and around the world watched him sing through 'Kapamilya Online LIVE' (KOL) on YouTube.

Not long ago, Hewitt set off on their 'Daily Rounds' adventure, striving to secure a place in the upcoming semi-finals on Tuesday (January 30th, 2024). With a previous outstanding performance, Mr. Hewitt achieved a resounding score of 97%, guaranteeing him the coveted 1st Place position. As the daily winner among the talented young contenders, he received a cash prize of PHP10,000 (which is almost U$D174 bucks). While Ms. Safhia Chanel Legaspi from Tagbilaran, Bohol scored 95% in 2nd Place, and Ms. Arien Kristine Manzano from Bacoor, Cavite also scored to 93%. Both losing kid contenders between Legaspi and Manzano will receive individual consolation prizes worth PHP5,000 (or almost U$D87).

Fortunately in the midst of the Weekly Finals, Mr. Hewitt faced elimination on Saturday (February 3rd, 2024) but displayed resilience and determination, earning his spot in the final 'Resbakbakan' on Friday (April 19th, 2024) before advancing to the highly anticipated Grand Finals, or so what is being called 'Ang Huling Tapatan'.

As previously reported on February 16th, 2024… Mr. 'Patrick James Chua', who is a Negrosanon amateur singer from the Bacong town in a said province, and the Dumaguete City National High School (DCNHS) student lose 3rd Place spot in the 3rd week of Daily Rounds at this abovementioned national singing competition. His personal statement released on their Facebook status post (owned by Meta Platforms Inc.): "I was sad after that moment because I truly wanted to bring in my home town to bring pride to Bisaya. But I realize it won't stop to pursue my dreams even if I failed many times. I will keep on singing until I got my dreams right. I hope you will stay with me for my next opportunity contests (in Negros Oriental). I also want to inspired other people specially the young ones like me that chasing your dreams may not be always as easy if you fail. Just keep pushing until you succeed to yourself", Mr. Chua said.

The Negrosanon youth singer 'Kim Aninon Hewitt' plans to make new strategies for singing in the private rehearsals to perfect, and executing final preparations of 'Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids' grand finals.

Bahrain Grand Prix Review

The season is underway, and began with a promising opening race. Yes, it wasn’t thrilling throughout, yet you can never complain when there is a great battle for the lead, and plenty of overtaking besides that. These regulations do seem to have worked as intended, we were never going to have Hollywood races every weekend, instead, it is just producing more opportunities for drivers to pass slower cars.

It is rather incredible to witness the rebirth of an icon of the sport, as Ferrari have been resurrected by these wholesale changes in the rules. All last year, we were talking about the potential of Ferrari using this to vault up the grid, but I don’t think we believed it would go this well for them. Major respect has to be given to Binotto and his fellow management, for motivating the team through some tough times, under all the pressure they had. As for the drivers, they did their job too, with Leclerc stepping into an unofficial lead role at the team, which will likely be contested all year, and taking the fight to Max all weekend. He really is looking like the favourite for the title right now. Sainz did have a tough weekend, not able to get near Charles at any point. He will surely bounce back though in the coming races. The rest of the season is an unknown for Ferrari, as it is for every team, but momentum is truly on their side.

They may not have finished there, but Red Bull had the second fastest car all weekend. It was expected that they wouldn’t be able to match last years pace, just as a result of putting so much effort into 2021, so it is impressive to see their pace at the moment. Verstappen was picking up where he left off, leading the team, and taking the fight to an arguably faster Ferrari, but he couldn’t topple them. That wasn’t the worst of it though, as the team suffered major reliability issues, both with steering racks, and apparently fuel pumps, which caused both drivers to retire. Perez had been doing excellently until then, hounding Sainz for the last spot on the podium. These issues not only cost them a huge bag of points, but highlight some potential issues for the rest of the season. Maybe this will be where the focus on 2021 hurts them!

After no one believed them for the past few weeks, the reality of the situation has dawned on the paddock, and wider sport, as Mercedes are truly the third fastest car right now. Porpoising is the problem, and when they fix it, I do think Ferrari and Red Bull have a challenge on their hands. Bearing all that in mind, they did all they could in the race, and may even count themselves lucky. Hamilton drove just as anyone would expect, maximising the car, and helping the team move forwards. Russell’s pace was very impressive, as he pretty much matched Lewis over the stints, only slightly slower. This shows what a talent he could be in the future. Their performance in the coming races all hinges on whether they can fix the bouncing issue.

This weekend belongs to Ferrari; however, the feel good story was Haas, who are somehow 3rd in the constructors right now. They have Magnussen to thank for that, who came back to the sport all guns blazing, and was almost challenging the Mercedes. This has given him another chance to advertise his talents, and he probably won’t be leaving Haas for a few years now. Schumacher was overshadowed by his teammate, and even accounting for the contact and spin with Ocon, he should have done better in the race probably. Let’s just hope he is taking time to get to terms with the new car, which we have seen be the case in the past. Will this be a one off for the team? There is the argument, that during testing, Haas got more running in representative conditions due to freight issues, which may have elevated their pace. That being said, I can’t see a huge drop in pace from them by the next race.

Alfa Romeo, just like Haas, have had a turn around over the winter, to go from the back to the front, and I don’t think it is a coincidence that all 3 Ferrari powered teams made huge gains over the break. Bottas will surely be glad that Mercedes dopped him now, as he will get so much more respect from the fans for finishing 6th in an Alfa Romeo, than being beaten by Lewis in a Mercedes. We always knew he had a lot of talent, he just wasn’t quite on a level with Lewis. Just as impressive was Zhou, who managed to just get some points on his debut. Not only was his pace solid, but he was able to pass cars, and said that he gained a lot of confidence on the brakes during the race. Hopefully the rest of his season goes better than Tsunoda’s last year.

Alpine were firmly in the points for most of the race, and it does look as though the battle between them, Haas, Alfa Romeo, and AlphaTauri could be brilliant this year. Ocon did not cover himself in glory with his move on Mick, but recovered to beat Alonso, which is never a bad result. Otherwise, it was a quiet race for them. As I mentioned, AlphaTauri were battling for the points in the race, and Tsunoda did manage to bag some, despite the issues for Gasly. If he can be more consistent this year, and not crash as much, AlphaTauri look to have a great car underneath them.

I don’t even know what to say about McLaren, as even with the brake issues, no one thought it would be this bad for them. We have no idea how deep these issues are, and whether we will only see it at Bahrain, however, I don’t feel confident about the rest of their season. This is not what either Lando or Daniel signed up for.

It is a similar story for Williams and especially Aston Martin, who look equally as deflated as McLaren. They seem to have missed the design of the cars by a fair way, which it was hoped would not happen with the new regulations. On the other hand, it could just be them not being used to the car yet, but that might just be wishful thinking.

Looking back at my pre-season pecking order a week ago, my gut was correct for the front half of the field, but way off on the rest. That just shows how big these rule changes were, and it has really left some teams scratching their heads. On to Saudi Arabia next, where the chaos could be turned up to another level, on that tight, high speed circuit.

Mikasa’s reintroduction to the series takes the largest piece of the pie, with 31.6% enjoying the scene the most. In second comes the coordinated attack from the Survey Corps against Porco, with 14.8% feeling that scene really brings the hype. At 10.3%, Levi’s first appearance in the season takes 3rd place, and with 9.7% is the overall fight between Eren and the War Hammer Titan.

Ackermans ran this episode as they should. They're on a whole different level.

Why isn't the Sasha-Gabi moment in the list of favourite moments? That's my actually favourite moment. Gabi seeing Sasha through the fire and smoke, Sasha's reflection in her eyes...chilling.

THE CGI CONTINUES TO BE A POINT OF CONTENTION. BE HONEST, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE EXECUTION OF CGI SO FAR THIS SEASON? 309 Responses

In general, the fandom appears to be understanding of MAPPA’s usage of CGI, with 38.2% being completely unbothered by it, 20.1% feeling that while it’s not ideal, it could be much worse, and 18.8% not particularly caring for it but not faulting MAPPA for it either. A handful of people just wish that there would be more appreciation that it’s getting animated at all, while others continue to be a bit salty about the usage of CGI this season.

Did people forgot the god-awful Colossal titan's CGI from WIT? Well, I didn't so I wasn't surprised by the same level of CGI in Eren's scene (thankfully just one of them). I rarely have issue with CGI in SnK except for truly awful looking ones so like couple of times in the season, usually.

I honestly wouldn't even know there's CGI if everyone wasn't complaining about it. I honest to god can't see where they use it.

It's mostly fine

I thought the war hammer titan looked AMAZING, the only CGI that looked odd was the scouts in the background, but that’s really it...?

A few sore spots (e.g. Erens titan looked kinda off this ep), but it's not season-ruining yet.

It works fine for titans that already look somewhat mechanical (Armor, Jaw), but it looks incredibly awkward for the others, to the point of taking me out of the story.

Maybe I've been spoiled by studio orange and the previous seasons, but I know for a fact that they can do better. This is not a new anime, this is the final season of one of the greatest anime of all time, so yeah I expected much better CGI, it was poor and unecessary.

Some Titans like Eren and Beast look a little weird but I just really like how they made effort to make it blend with the art style. Maybe if they had found a way to cut the animation down to 12fps it might not look so bad? Anyways I think it’s good for what it is, MAPPA is doing their best!

I barely noticed it. The animation looks BOMB. Top 5 episodes of the whole series for me and BEST action episode of AOT easily.

I think the CGI for the Titans is completely fine. It's the CGI for the Scouts that was a bit off putting for me. Still, not enough to ruin the episode. And if we continue to get animation of this standard I will be fine with it.

At this point after episode 7 onward eventually AOT CGI is going to be worst than EX-arm's CGI

I love it because it makes the titans scarier and more eerie? I also miss the 2D ones because they feel more natural. Overall, I think it's fine!

We got a more colorful and evened out pie for this question. Overall the largest chunk, at 24.3%, are enjoying MAPPA’s take on Eren’s iconic “hobo chic” look. 21.1% think Sasha looks the best out of all of them, while Mikasa trails just behind her at 20.1%. 16.1% are grateful for Connie’s design, leaving 9.5% favoring Jean, and smaller handfuls appreciating MAPPA’s take on Levi and Floch.

The series isn’t known for having too much filler, but typically what filler does exist seems to be appreciated by the fandom, and this was no exception. 56.8% of respondents were happy for a little more fleshing out of Willy’s character (also learning that those kids were his!) and being able to sympathize more with him. 19.7% appreciated the more sympathetic addition until they remembered he was willing to throw Liberio under the bus for his plan. 13.5% are appreciative of any and all additional Willy content. I’d have rather seen more of the manga animated

I knew why they added it, but I (personally) think willy is crud. Not mad it's there tho!

He did his duty as a Tybur to the very end. Honestly I wish he could have lived longer, he’s a really compelling and interesting character.

I feel like some viewers have carelessly misunderstood Willy because of that scene in the carriage. They're like 'wow, he really hates and shames his own people huh?' but at the beginning of the episode we all saw his abundance of children. Would it not have been extremely contradictory if he had truly wanted the extinction of all Eldians and then at the same time did the complete opposite by mass-reproducing a small army of Eldian children? Maybe that's why that scene was added to the start of the episode, to keep people away from mischaracterising him. Unfortunately, this may have simply been missed or overlooked by some.

Reading the manga, I truly didn't even consider the possibility that these were Willy's children because he is so obviously a ~*bachelor*~. Like, it didn't even cross my mind that those children weren't his little nieces and nephews because he is suuuuch a Theater Gay. Nothing can change my mind.

A minor dialogue change didn’t seem to have much of an effect on nearly half of respondents, with 47.5% saying they’re indifferent to the change. 43.3% like the change much better, feeling that it works a lot better with future story developments and makes more sense. A handful didn’t care for the change and felt it tampered with Magath’s overall characterization.

I think the change was logical and more consistent with the story, but I'm naturally skeptical of any AOT manga-to-anime change.

I suppose the new change is a little contradictory because Magath dislikes Marley’s reliance on Titan power and rather just wishes th ey had prowess in other ways.

Realistically eating him makes more sense for them to eat Eren so they gain control of the Founder but I think Magath accepting the age of Titans is now done for is more in character.

It obviously makes more sense logistically, but I think it's important for Magath to stand opposed to Marley national policy on this front, like, symbolically.

BETWEEN UDO AND ZOFIA, WHO WOULD YOU HAVE LIKED TO SURVIVE TO RECEIVE MORE STORY IN THE MANGA? 304 Responses

Though they are minor characters, the anime seems to have made some of the fandom a bit more fond of them. Still, 38.5% wouldn’t change anything about their fates, stating that they were necessary for Gabi to develop further as a character. 28% would rather neither of them died and are curious about how they would have developed if they lived to see another day. 23.7% say if they had to pick only one of them, it would be Udo due to his relevant commentary. A handful leaned toward Zofia, wishing they could have learned more about her.

Udo. But at the same time Isayama can barely handle all the characters that are still alive so Udo probably wouldn't get a lot of screen time anyway.

Zofia. I didn't care about her while reading the manga, but in the anime she was more unique. I liked her stoic voice a lot. Zofia and Gabi should have switch the places.

Both versions are devastating, but Manga hit harder bc I just was so confused and couldn't stop trying to figure out wtf Eren was doing and why. Watching it knowing what I know made it somehow more devastating and yet also more palatable (bc I have a better understanding.)

WE FINALLY HAVE A NAME FOR LADY TYBUR - LARA! THOUGHTS? 307 Responses

One of the few characters left with no name after the large guidebook released a few years ago, Lady Tybur was all we could call her (aside from fan-given names). Now she has an official name! 26.7% found it neat that we finally got this official detail. 25.4% feel that now they can finally sleep at night. 17.6% are forever grateful for the name drop and hated waiting so long for it. 15.3% don’t care at all and 11.7% feel this confirms that Isayama is a fan of Tomb Raider.

Of all the shots in the preview, 45.1% of respondents were most looking forward to Levi’s staged attack on Zeke. 17% favored seeing Mikasa assist Eren, 15% were most looking forward to seeing Falco emerge from the basement to see the carnage outside. 10.1% were stoked to see Pieck enter the battlefield. The episode has aired as of the publishing of these poll results - we hope these scenes lived up to the hype (even though we guessed one wrong lol).

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?

I enjoyed the episode very much. I felt that the CGI was handled fairly well given the time restraints. However, there were a few instances where it was a bit jarring like Eren eating Willy, Eren pulling the WHT's cord, Mikasa landing on Eren, and Jean climbing up on the roof. Also some of the CGI models looked a bit weird for the scouts. I'm hoping some of these issues can be improved on in the Blue-ray version. Overall, these issues were noticeable but didn't take too much away from my enjoyment of the episode.

As much as I don't like the CGI, episode was great.

Just that it was fantastic and I can't wait for the next one!

After re-visiting the trailer we got for this season, it's just....saddening. Everyone was wondering how Mappa was gonna animate AoT and after seeing that trailer, all that effort by the animators, I thought "it's in good hands!". Now that we're getting the episodes and it's underwhelming. I don't blame the Mappa animators at all and cgi is unavoidable at some moments. But whoever are the higher ups who said "animate this in the shortest amount of time" ARE the assholes. It's so upsetting for this anime and the workers of it to be brought down like this :'(

THE OST WAS FIRE

Gabi's voice acting was amazing this episode ! Also, it feels good to hear the ODM gear sound effect again. The CGI didn't keep me from enjoying the fight, we got awesome camera movements and good choreography, I'm very hopeful for next episode ! Also best boy Onyankopon might appear soon ?

I don't know if I liked the episode or not. I usually prefer manga so even episodes I like I prefer their manga versions but there is something in off with the episode and usually, Titans fight are more excited but this one Nah it was not at all. War hammer was great in animation it served a better understanding of its powers but the fight, in general, was like boring?? idk maybe because I am a manga reader so the titan power/character's introduction was not as thrilling as they were when I've read the chapters. anyways, there is still more of the attack on liberio in the next episode so I'll give my final thought when we conclude the arc

I think the reason Attack Titan looks a bit off is it looks a bit thinner! Warhammer looks amazing because it's a true copy of the manga. If Attack Titan was a bit buff, I think nobody would have that much of a problem. Overall the chapter is amazing!

as much as i adored everything else i must admit... what is wrong with the character design? what happened to everyone's jaws?? i think jean, mikasa and pieck were the worst drawn. in the manga, they look flawless.

I just hope we would get actual discussions in the sub instead of circle jerking or bitching about the cgi/ost etc.

The soundtrack was epic as hell

Mappa is doing a good job, with the little time they had. But sadly, they had the capacity to do way better and I will always regret this situation. And the Jojo memes on Mikasa are on point: in that specific panel, she looks ugly and unlike her cute face in the manga. For the rest of the episode, she's well portrayed

I think this episode is a taste of what is to come. It’s one thing to read still, silent pictures of complete devastation, and it’s another thing to hear the explosions, the screaming and crying. Seeing the blood painted red instead of black and white. When Eren rumbles the world, more people will realize how evil it is, how completely irredeemable. Less people will be #teameren once they get to see it in the anime. I can’t wait to see what MAPPA has in store.

So many nice details in the battle that weren’t there in the manga, the war hammer animation was particularly great

I feel bad complaining, but this was the first episode of the season that has disappointed me at all. Every other episode I feel has elevated the manga. I don't want (and never expected) to be that person, but the CGI, especially on the humans (WHY??) was so awkward it was distracting. We also lost a little bit of expressiveness from Eren, which is kind of a big deal when there's so little from him to begin with.

It is what it is. But after I finished the episode I went back to watch the trailer and got sad that the season just isn't going to look like that. It's not bad by any means and I understand that these are people, not robots working on this with an extremely tight schedule. This entitled fanbase is super embarrassing with it's behavior and harassment of the people working on it. I kind of hope the final arc doesn't get animated now because these people don't deserve it.

Awesome! I was a bit distracted how the pacing was, cutting a bit weirdly from one episode to another, but I really enjoyed it!

It was emotionless and almost boring. The sound director keeps fucking up big time. I didnt feel anything close to the hype I felt watching the Armored/Colossal reveal animated. There were no exciting goosebumps, or tears. Nothing. Also the CGI was terrible. There were good things, but I expected much more for suck a climatic episode

It was a good episode after all, graphic was ok but i think that if they continued with the same titan 2d animation of first episodes and maybe changed a bit some sound it would have been waaay better. Still a good episode imho

The episode was very average. I'm not trying to complain, I know that the anime is mostly for anime-onlines, while we have a manga, but I expected better. I imagined the titan fight to be smooth, but in reality both - WHT and AT - moved like two, fat elephants. In the manga I felt that WHT was fast like a wind. In the anime Lara was slow, she looked like she had a hard time to even hold her hammer. The moment between Eren and Mikasa was disappointing. In the anime when Mikasa was upset about Eren's actions, he was completely unfeeling, while in the manga we see him being full of emotions and almost crying. I know he will turn into a cold bastard but MAPPA shouldn't dehumanize Eren so much now. I was surprised by Connie's glow up. MAPPA has done better job with him. In the manga he still looks like a kid, while MAPPA made him more mature-looking and masculine. That's good for underrated Connie. I'm grateful for the scene between Willy and his children. This way he feels more sympathetic and isn't ""just a guy who declared a war and was eaten by Eren"".

I really like how the warriors and Marleyans seem to be getting a somewhat equal amount of screen time as the scouts have gotten after they've come into the picture. I hope this helps to make clear for the anime-onlies that understanding the experiences, emotions and the development of the other side is just as important as understanding those of the scouts/Paradis.

There’s a new Sims 4 PC update available via Origin.

Remove all MODS and Custom Content before updating your game

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack drops in just a mere few days, and since we know that living your best Eco Lifestyle can take a little extra elbow grease, we’ve added some exciting quality-of-life improvements to help pave the way.

Between Inventory updates, new CAS assets from a surprise partnership with M·A·C, the return of two beloved NPCs, as well as some really cool new Build features, we hope you enjoy the update.

NEW & IMPROVED FEATURES

INVENTORY UPDATES

Fellow hoarders, this one’s for you: We have updated the Sim Inventory with the ability to Filter, Sort, Favorite, Multi-Select, and Multi-Sell in one easy flick of the wrist. Managing that cumbersome pile of collectables you’ve been racking up for the past five years has never been so easy!

FREE PLACEMENT OF DOORS AND WINDOWS

Following in true Eco Lifestyle fashion, Door and Window placement is now also Off-the-Grid. But not that kind of grid. The limiting kind of tile grid that used to keep you from placing your windows and doors precisely where you wanted them. By holding down the Alt key while dragging, you can enjoy the smooth sensations of free Door and Window placement.

LADDERS

Ladders have been added as part of the Build System. Find your free Classic Wooden Ladder in the Build catalog in the Stairs (& Ladders) category. Unlike Island Living’s Dock and Ladder objects for use on water lots, these Ladders can be placed anywhere on your lot and like stairs, they can be used as a means for Sims to traverse from one floor to another.

M·A·C COSMETICS

Did you say you needed some fresh looks for your Sims? We’ve collaborated with none other than M·A·C Cosmetics to bring you 12 fashion-forward makeup assets suited for everything from everyday to night out glam. If you’re not already using it, on PC and Mac we recommend trying out the “Uncompressed Sim Textures” setting in the Options Menu, which is now enabled by default on the High and Ultra graphics settings profiles in order to see these looks really shine. While console versions of The Sims 4 do not have the setting in the Options Menu, each console spec is automatically using the optimal graphical settings based on system resources.

REPO PERSON NPC

The Repo Person NPC has graduated with honors from Discover University’s University of Britechester with a Degree in Villainy and has comfortably taken up residence in Base Game. Now everyone can taste their wrath if Bill payments fall behind.

BILLS UPDATE

Speaking of Bills, we’ve added a cohesive breakdown of Sim’s Bills information that can be accessed via an interaction on the Mailbox or Phone. Now instead of lumping everything together, you can see what percentage of your Bills go to Water, what percentage go to Power, insight into any Fees, Reductions, or Penalties. All this and more, calculated and cleanly presented for your finer understanding.

LEGACY NEIGHBORHOOD MAP TAGS

We have gone back and added Map Tags with Neighborhood Descriptions to existing neighborhoods that didn’t yet have them. We now have delightful icons, names, and descriptions for the no-longer-forgotten Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, Newcrest, and Windenburg. Ok, feel free to freak out now.

OFF-THE-GRID UPDATES

This one is tricky to list out in a single paragraph with attempted wit, so I’ll just drop this bullet list off right here:

The Off-the-Grid Lot Trait now ties into our new Bill updates, drawing from Water and Power utility. Without excess utility, lots function off-the-grid as they did before. With excess utility, they function more like an on-the-grid lot.

There is a new Off-the-Grid Build category that will allow players to find Off-the-Grid and survival-esque objects.

We've done a pass on candles to ensure they properly work when electricity is out.

Off-the-Grid supported Fridges now have an "Add Ice" interaction that will allow them to keep food preserved—so long as the ice remains!

Sim will now autonomously use stoves and fridges when Off-the-Grid, not just grills.

Harvestables now grant unique buffs when consumed off-the-grid.

Dogs and Toddlers now have a unique interaction to be bathed in Bathtubs even when Off-the-Grid.

Objects can now be cleaned using the "Use Elbow Grease" interaction. Yummy.

Players are able to gather Water utility from fishing spots in base game. With Island Living they can gather from the waterfall. Water can also be gathered from any world with swimmable 'ocean' water. With Seasons, water can be gathered from snow drifts.

Off-the-Grid specific buffs will now take into account motives and Sim traits when determining if a Sim should receive a positive or negative moodlet when living Off-the-Grid.

We've added multiple new recipes that can be cooked while Off-the-Grid given a Sim has the proper cooking skill level. Some recipes require special ingredients like the Boiling Frog Hot Pot—which adds a really neat survival element to off-the-grid gameplay, while providing Sims with powerful new moodlets that will help them survive in the wild.

NO TRESPASSING

Some people who have the Vampires Game Pack appreciate Vlad’s antics more than others. I personally love receiving a charming visit from Vlad, and sometimes I could really use a kind compliment about my neck. But we’ve heard there are a select few that don’t quite like having their Sim’s necks bitten and motives tanked by an invasive nighttime visitor with no respect for boundaries. Keep Vampires and other unwanted visitors at bay with a new No Trespassing interaction we’ve added to the Door.

SEND HOME INTERACTION

Speaking of unwelcome visitors, we’ve also added a new Send Home interaction that’s available on visiting NPCs or as a self-interaction in the case of multiple visitors. How is this interaction any different from Ask To Leave or Go Away, you might ask? Convenience. Unlike its less efficient predecessors, this interaction is nearly instantaneous and leaves your visitors with no hurt feelings or Relationship impact. We added it as a useful tool for players, not necessarily as a story-telling mechanism.

BUILD MODE ITEMS GRANT GAMEPLAY EFFECTS

How you build your lot can now affect your gameplay. Certain objects such as wall patterns, floor patterns, fences, and columns bring different gameplay modifiers. Some of these modifiers affect how your Bills and utilities are calculated by decreasing or increasing your Power or Water utility production or usage, as well increasing or decreasing the price of bills. Environment Score can now be impacted by certain objects and materials. Drywall walls without wall patterns applied now decrease environment score like they did in The Sims 3! The choice of floor and wall materials used can also affect the ability to spread fire or puddles at an increased or lessened rate. And if you’d rather build your lot without having to think about these things, don’t worry. There’s an Option in the Gameplay menu to turn all of this off.

FIREFIGHTER NPC

Oh hey, and speaking of Fire, that reminds me. Did you hear that we’ve added Firefighter NPCs to the game? We took nods from classic Firefighter NPC behavior from The Sims, The Sims 2, and The Sims 3 and added a few small twists for The Sims 4. When a fire breaks out, Firefighters will come automatically to your lot if you already have a Fire Alarm installed. That way, if you still like to let things burn baby burn, you can just “accidentally” forget to place a Fire Alarm. It’s okay. We won’t tell anybody. If you honestly did forget to place a Fire Alarm, you can call the Fire Department from the Phone or by clicking on the fire itself. If the Fire Department is called, but there is not an active fire, they will call you on your lapse in judgement and charge you a fine. You won’t be punished if there was legitimately a fire that was extinguished before they arrive though. The Firefighter Uniform can be accessed in CAS and gives any Sim wearing it the Fireproof Buff, which gives them some extra protection against fires as well as make them more efficient at putting out fires themselves. It’s worth noting that Firefighter NPC’s do not show up in Island Living’s Sulani. Sulani already has their local Fire Brigade to handle these kinds of emergencies and besides, who wants to wear all that heavy Firefighter gear in the tropics?

STYLED LOOKS FOR TOTS AND KIDS

More than 20 New Styled Looks have been added for Children and Toddlers, using existing Base Game CAS assets to better flesh out some outfit categories that previously felt sparse.

BALANCING PASS OF PHONE CALL INVITATIONS

After five years of Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs our phone call invites were admittedly starting to get a little spammy. Moments after moving in, you’ve got Lucas Munch hitting you up, asking you to go to the Bluffs with him. Then not long after, you might have had Vivian Lewis asking you to join her at The Spice Festival. Jeez, let me get settled in first, why don’t ya? We’ve done a tuning pass to rebalance all of these previously competing Phone invites to give you a more meaningful and holistic experience.

LESS INVASIVE EARBUDS

In the same vein as the above balancing pass, we wanted to smooth out one of our more pressing notifications. The free earbuds pop-up that comes with Fitness Stuff has been changed to a more passive TNS and gifts your Sim the earbuds automatically when it triggers. The days of telling the game over and over that you don’t want free earbuds, or worse - hitting OK by accident - is a thing of the past.

CONSOLE UPDATES

Eco Lifestyle releasing on the same day across all platforms marks an important milestone for The Sims 4 as Simmers get to play the same content and share new creations on The Gallery together. In this update Console Simmers have a few additional features to improve their quality of life:

We have added a new Controls Overlay Reminder that shows up throughout CAS, Gallery, Live Mode and Build Mode which should make it easier for new Simmers to jump in and not need to remember all the controls.

If you don’t want to be reminded and you know all the controls by heart, you can turn off the Controls Overlay Reminder in the Game Options > Other menu

The controller overlay screens remain available for those who want them.

Now onto the fixes and updates:

The Sims 4

macOS players should no longer encounter the setLocale.zsh error. However, both Origin and TS4 must be up to date.

Sims will not have random accessories or clothing pieces when changing into towels.

Fixed an issue where Sims were not able to Care for Self after they had been in daycare when they were a Toddler.

Some roofs were updated to remove the appearance of black sides when placed on ceilings.

Active Sims will no longer get a Tense moodlet for lack of exercise when finishing exercising. Do you even push up bro?

Sims will no longer get the Fatigued moodlet immediately after starting a workout. Now, we know that endurance takes time to build, but we decided to give Sims a chance to enjoy their workout before being completely fatigued right away.

Child Sims will now be able to unlock the Video Gaming Skill after they have maxed out their Mental Skill instead of their Motor Skill, which was causing adult skills to reset for Child Sims when they completed aspirations.

Fixed an issue in which some Households did not have their names displayed in Manage Worlds.

Corrected requirements for completing the Great Landscaper task that is part of the Mansion Baron Aspiration.

Fixed an issue in which when utilities are shut off (either because of past due bills or Off-The-Grid) adding objects from Build Mode such as Lamps, would add them turned On.

The Water Pump, Fishing Holes, Romantic Garden’s Whispering Wishing Well, and Get Famous’s Luminary’s Exotic Water Garden now have the Gather Water interaction when the Off-the-Grid Lot Trait is applied.

Fixed an issue in which the Subtle Saucer Light was not being so subtle and made objects added from Build Mode be placed randomly when dragged near it.

Teen Sims will now see the appropriate tooltip when trying to acquire the Fertile Trait from the Rewards Store. No, they are not Robots.

Fixed an issue in which some Roof Eaves were clipping into enclosed blocks.

Fixed an issue in which the Clean Up interaction would drop off the queue if dirty dishes were placed on a counter.

Since we added a new trash bike to Eco Lifestyle, we’ve made the bicycle helmet available for everyone in CAS. Now you can outfit your Sim in a helmet, regardless of owning a pack that includes bikes.

Sims will now not receive occasional text messages asking them for a Date from other Sims that they are not romantically involved with. Because it was aaaakward…

Toddler Sims will not be able to Ask for Mentoring on some in progress mentoring interactions to strangers. Except for “Invite to Bob to Music” because we can dance if we want to, we can leave our friends behind, ‘cause your friends don’t dance and if they don’t dance well... they’re not friends of mine.

Fixed an issue with textures for the tops and landings on some Staircases.

Fixed an issue that did not allow randomizer to work correctly when Male Sims had Makeup on Create a Sim.

Plants can now be placed closer to foundations with moveobjects cheat enabled, as long as most of the plant's footprint is outside of the foundation.

Fixed an issue in which non local Sim Townies would spawn in Windenburg’s Island, now named The Crumbling Isle.

As much as Windenburgians (Windenburgers? Windenburguese? Windenburglites?) love visitors from other worlds, they have voted them off the Island. Sorry, not sorry!

City Living

Fixed an issue that caused time to be desynchronized at Speed 3. Bending the space time continuum no more!

Vet Clinics can no longer be placed in Penthouses.

Yard Sale customers will no longer wander inside Sims’ houses and interact with their belongings. While prospective buyers are nice to have in any sale, this was just rude, this is NOT a Welcome Wagon.

Cats & Dogs

Game progress will no longer be lost when editing/adding/deleting career outfits in Create a Sim.

Fixed an issue that made Pets’ needs to not be fulfilled if not playing an active household.

Pets’ ehm… poop is now able to be used as plant fertilizer. Happy gardening!

Seasons

Sims can now sell Flowers in stacks from their Inventory.

Sims will now appropriately put their Umbrellas away before performing some interactions. Because WooHoo while having an Umbrella out in the open, seems complicated, we are not judging… but seems complicated.

Fixed an issue that made Simmer created Holidays in the Calendar populate after a season ended.

Father Winter will now be able to remove his beard and change in Create a Sim if he is part of an active Household. But who would dare shave Father Winter’s beard?? Who?!

Get Famous

Fixed the issue with the Actor Career where Sims were unable to complete their gig when they would travel and return home before it was time for the gig.

Island Living

Lotta Cocolatas will now be made with actual Coconuts taken from Sims’ Inventories. What were they made from before? We will never know! Never accept imitation Lotta Cocolatas… never!

Fixed an issue in which some quick meals were requiring a Microwave while being Off-The-Grid when it is not needed. Yogurt needing a microwave? I think not!

Mermaids in Create a Sim will no longer be able to have their Traits randomized. This allows them to keep their Mermaidism, as well as their air of mystery and charm.

Mermaids now will wear appropriate career outfits when going to work. So I can picture this now, Mermaids as Doctors would be a great TV show.

Fixed an issue in which some Island Living Tank Tops were categorized incorrectly in Create a Sim.

Mermaid Children made in Create a Sim will now grow up to be fully-functioning Mer-dults.

The Go To Work button for Odd Jobs has been fixed for Sims on Vacation.

The Eyedropper tool will now work on Stilts instead of only working on the Foundation Trims.

Fixed an issue in which Sims in Off-The-Grid lots were showering constantly. Now they will shower when appropriate. Though, with this heatwave, anything goes in my opinion!

Student Sims will not lose their Term Presentations Boards when signing up for another term.

Simmers with Seasons additionally installed: Student Sims will no longer receive Academic Probation if they were on planned Holidays through the Calendar.

Student Sims will no longer be labeled as Graduate after completing the Graduation Ceremony. Congratulations!

Fixed an issue in which homework assignment progression was too slow and timers might have been missing in some instances.

Fixed an issue in which Sims were taking showers fully clothed. As much as the current heat wave is giving us creative ideas to cool off, it would be more efficient to not be fully clothed when showering.

Hair Style ymHair_EP08MensShavedPonytail_Black has been updated for Teens, Adults, and Elders to display all swatches. Similarly yfHair_EP08ShortBobBraid_Black has been fixed to appear as an option for Teens.

Sims that re-enroll in University after graduating or dropping out, can now rejoin their Secret Society. Likewise, if Sims get suspended and re-enrolls their progress will not be lost.

Fixed an issue with the "Gameday Glute Accommodator" chair that occasionally could make Sims invisible if they placed it in their Inventory. We don’t know what other powers the "Gameday Glute Accommodator" may have but invisibility is now not one of them.

Sims in the Law Career can now Attend Depositions from their Computers and Phones. Because you don’t need to break your computer to complete an assignment, that seems impractical.

Vampire Coffins and Sleeping Pods can now count as Beds in University Dorms.

Fixed an issue in which the Write and Publish Research Paper interaction would disappear from the options if it was cancelled midway. I mean, I understand rage quitting something but not to the point of my options to do it disappearing...amirite?

Fixed an issue with yfBody_EP08DressParty_SolidPurple in which pendant necklaces were not able to be seen if this asset was worn by Sims.

Fixed an issue that could make the Soccer interaction Study Plays with drop out from the interaction queue.

Corrected Final Exam Requirements for Elective Courses to say that for studying they need to do so on Computers or Research Machines.

To anyone who may have noticed the tiny head effect in the thumbnails if you wore the Dragon or the Lobster mascot costume without their hats, that issue has been fixed.

Humanoid Robots will no longer be able to have Traits or Aspirations modified in Create a Sim. You are a real Sim to me Robot friend, you are to me.

If a Sim already knows about the Secret Society, is it still a secret? Time will tell.

Outdoor Retreat

Herbalism recipes can now work while Off-The-Grid, however only on Off-The-Grid supported stoves.

Dine Out

Random NPCs will not leave Hamburgers on tables at restaurants anymore. As much as we like to receive free food, we don’t think it is proper to get them randomly from a stranger.

Vampires

Vampire Sims working on the Master Vampire Aspiration will no longer have the task “Survive for an Additional 20 Days as a Vampire” reset after traveling.

Vampire Sims with Full Sun Resistance are now able to properly tend to gardens and not tend to plants one at a time.

Fixed an issue in which you could set the Registered Vampire Lair Lot Trait for Venues.

Vampire child ears can now be changed after being aged-down from adult Dark Form.

Hot Tubs that have been upgraded to unbreakable will no longer be broken upon performing the Zipzap Spell.

A Spellcaster is never not in vogue, but it’s always nice to have options.

We fixed an issue in which some hotkeys in Photo Mode (particularly E and Q) were not working.

"In late August 2012 Star Wars fans from all around the world gathered in Orlando, Florida for the sixth official Star Wars convention, Celebration VI. The lineup was strong despite the live action movies, always the brightest and biggest stars in the franchise’s galaxy, coming to an end seven years earlier. Though he was not scheduled to attend, series creator George Lucas was there. Publicly, he was just there to make a surprise appearance during the panel for the animated The Clone Wars TV show. But privately he was there to talk to original trilogy stars Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. They were brought to a conference room away from the convention floor where George broke the news: he was working a new Star Wars trilogy and wanted them to reprise their iconic roles."

[Disney didn't buy Lucasfilm/Star Wars until October 30th of 2012. This meeting occurred months before the sale, and at that point, the sale couldn't be assured.]

[Now there is some speculation as to why Lucas made the treatments of his ideas for his Sequel trilogy if he was considering selling, but it should be noted that Jett Lucas, George Lucas's son has stated that his Father [George] had been working on his Sequel trilogy for an entire year before this.]

When George decided to make a new trilogy, he moved quickly. He reached out to old friend and all-star film producer Kathleen Kennedy sometime in the first half of 2012, hoping to bring her on as co-chair of Lucasfilm.The two then approached screenwriter Michael Arndt about writing the entire trilogy around May.

This means this was already being talked about and definitive actions taken for the creation of his Sequel trilogy in the first months of 2012, which could have been almost 10 full months before Disney bought Lucasfilm in October of 2012.

The design team, or “Visualists” as Rick Carter would call them, would meet with George Lucas on January 16th at Skywalker Ranch, where he would be shown art of Luke Skywalker, the Jedi Temple he had exiled himself to, and the training of Kira. This appears to be his last involvement with the film.

Phil Szostak, author of The Art of The Force Awakens and The Art of The Last Jedi, revealed that the Luke Skywalker seen in The Last Jedi had his genesis in ideas from late 2012.

"So, the late-2012 idea of a Luke Skywalker haunted by the betrayal of one of his students, in self-imposed exile & spiritually in “a dark place”, not only precedes Rian Johnson’s involvement in Star Wars but J.J. Abrams’, as well."

And in 2016, Pablo Hidalgo confirmed that Thea (Kira), Skyler, Darth Talon, and the planet of Felucia were in George’s plans.

That is what happens in Lucas’s Sequel Trilogy. Disney didn’t use George Lucas’ storyline, but they did use certain plot points from it. Context matters of course. The following is a list of things that Lucas had created in his Sequel Trilogy that Disney pilfered from Lucas’s Story Treatments.

Please note while core points are confirm-able, some speculation of extrapolation from various sources is included. I tend to think it’s fairly reliable, but I cannot swear to every detail.

* There was only one Grandchild of Anikan Skywalker ever born. Ben Solo. He was a student at Luke’s Jedi Temple, he did turn to the Darkside and slay some or all of the other students and set fire to the Jedi Temple before fleeing.

* Han and Leia had been separated for about 5 years, but they were drawing closer again.

* Ben Solo does kill Han Solo in Episode 8. We don’t know how. Lucas wrote this into the story line because he knew that Harrison Ford wanted that. He just asked him to wait til Episode 8 for it. Harrison Ford was fine with that.

* Chewbacca never had a moon fall on his head. He was very much alive.

* There was no New Jedi Order.

* Luke did go into something of a self-exile and he did live on an island, he was in a ‘bad place’ [Not Darkside] , he did think he failed and he was despondent and didn’t want to try and train New Jedi again. He was not ‘disillusioned’ about the Jedi. He didn’t actually want them to end. * At a certain point Luke realizes there is something wrong with the Force.It feels ‘sick’. He knows something is very very wrong and that it would have dire consequences if it couldn’t be stopped. He spent a great amount of time communing with the Force, desperate to find the answer to what is ailing it before it is too late. Because the Force is getting worse and worse, Luke communing with it as much as he does effects him as well. [The Whills are feeding on the Force]. * There is a scene that does take place in the Ruins of the Second Death Star [which is underwater] in Emperor Palpatines Old Throne Room. The Emperor is as dead as a door nail. The Redeemed Anakin Skywalkwer’s sacrifice was not in vain.

Princess Leia, fully trained by The Last Jedi Master, Luke Skywalker, becomes The Last Jedi Knight in Episode 9. “The Other” - It than falls to Leia to restore the Jedi Order, which if the speculation is true, is what Mark Hamill wanted.

Top 5 favourite characters: Truthfully, my top five are Shoot, Knuckle, Hanzo, Kite, and Gon. The three uncles, the honorary father, and the son. ❤

Other characters you like: Too many!!! I do love Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio. Kastro I really liked from the Tournament Arc. Melody, definitely! She’s the best. And, of course, Morel. I adore Big Papa Smoke. Palm and Knov, as well. Along with Ikalgo and Meleoron. ❤ Too many good characters.

Least favourite characters: I’ll have to say Illumi and Hisoka. I like them to an extent.

Otps: I am a sucker for Nashuu. 💓 What can I say? I really like Kurapika with Leorio, too.

Notps: Don’t…ship the children with other people please.

Favourite episodes: There are too many good ones, but you know I have to put 86. For reasons. ❤ The biggest ones for me…were 112 and…118 just becauae of how emotional they made me. Especially 112. That episode made me SOB. After I finished the episode, I had to step away from the computer to breathe, I was crying too much. Not necessarily in a bad way, but I did get really choked up.

Favourite season/book/movie: Favorite season is the Chimera Ant Arc, even though it’s also the absolute worst at the same time. Favorite book is…the very first one! I was about to say Vol 20 or Vol 25, but the very first one makes me so happy. It’s my favorite cover, too! 💚

Favorite movie I don’t have an answer for. The Last Mission was pretty good, and I know there are at least one or two more I believe? I’ve only seen one though.

Favourite quotes: I absolutely loved it when Knuckle said “Everyone has a heart. That’s what I want to believe.” And…Shoot’s whole inner monologue right before he fights. Even when Shoot explains to Killua how he doesn’t like to hurt people. I still can’t handle them, I get so emotional just thinking about them.

Best musical moment: Well…I know when Pouf plays his violin it is incredibly musical. That’s the only thing I can think of to say here! That scene is so out of place, but the music is lovely at least.

Moment that made you fangirl/boy the hardest: I actually remember when I first got into Hunter x Hunter, and I saw that Hanzo got four badges in the hunting exam, literally was just cheering him on like “Yay Hanzo!!! Good job!!!” 💞 I was so happy for him!! Oh…and when Knuckle was on screen, especially when he would throw off his jacket… 💘💘💘💘💘 Every. Single. Time. My poor, weak heart. At all that fanservice. And!!! When Shoot would fight!!! I would just be mush like! 💓 I just loved seeing Shoot any moment I got, and I still do.

When it really disappointed you: I’m not going to say it because I don’t want to spoil Meve by accident, but it is a huge disapointment for me that still leaves me upset.

Saddest moment: Well… 💔 I won’t say it.

Most well done character death: Uvagin, I guess? I mean, I don’t want to say that, but Kurapika at the time…oh it was rough. 💔 The scene was well done.

Favourite guest star: Hm. Guest stars? I would say Togashi, but I’m clearly thinking about how we’ll see ONE appear in One Punch Man every now and then. Not sure if Madhouse did the same with Togashi dog or anything. – Oh shoot read that question wrong as soon as I wrote all of this, LOL! Oh, now I know who to say!! Junichi Kanemaru! 💓💓💓 He only voiced Buharu during the first season, but ahhh I absolutely adore him! Just hearing his voice again brought back great childhood memories since I know he’s Sonic. 💓 Takaya Kuroda also! He was great as Razor, but you can never not hear him as Kiryu if you know the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku series. Listening to him as another character in a completely different thing was so funny. It was nice little cameo for my ears for both of them. ❤

Favourite cast member: Yuuji Ueda! 💓💓💓💓💓💓 Of COURSE. Favorite Japanese voice actor. (Can I just say how lovely Shoot’s voice is? It’s breathtaking. 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞) Along with Wataru Takagi, who is literally one of the best Japanese voice actors ever. He is an absolute gem. 💓 And I love Megumi Han. She was always so into her character and voicing Gon, she was just so passionate for the series. She’s the best.

Character you wish was still alive: Kite. 💔 And Kastro too, he seemed like a nice guy.

One thing you hope really happens: Please just let Gon and Killua rest. Give all the characters a rest. Where’s the filler episodes where they’re all getting together and having a good time and nothing can go wrong? Where’s my dream beach vacation episode?

Most shocking twist: Kite’s death… 💔💔💔 It really makes me upset please stop I want to forget

When did you start watching/reading?: I started watching the anime around March! I’m not sure when I bought the first volume of it though. Maybe in the same month? But yeah, March 3rd is the official date! (Which I was actually trying to figure out when I was deciding a date. I watched the first episode with my love maybe a month or so before I did on my own? But March 3rd was when I started watching it from the beginning. I thought about making it March 5th because…that’s when I first watched Shoot and Knuckle be introduced. You know.)

Best animal/creature: I’m biased to Knuckle’s puppy. 😌 For creature, I like Ikalgo and Meleoron a lot. It took me a bit to warm up to them, but they’re my favorite out of the Chimera Ants.

Favourite location: Whale Island! It is such a beautiful place! If it were real, I would definitely want to visit it.

Trope you wish they would stop using: Nothing that I can think of.

One thing this show/book/film does better than others: A big thing is that…it shows no matter what you go through, no matter what happens, you can definitely try again. And “you can smile again~” 🎵 All of these things slowly go more and more downhill when you follow along the adventure, but after the events of the scariest arc of the series, things do try to get better despite everything that happened during the darkest of times.

Funniest moments: I really can’t think of any super specific ones, but I know there were a lot of little moments Gon and Killua shared that cracked me up so much. Oh, when Gon hit Hanzo during their fight, and Leorio called him a liar for saying he let Gon hit him on purpose!! Ahhh the way Leorio’s voice actor did that line was PERFECT. “LIAR!!!!” I was dying! I also giggled bad at ones Shoot and Knuckle shared, ahh they’re so funny together.

Couple you would like to see: Shoot and I love the thought of Aunt Mito with Kite, for some reason? I think it’s because someone wrote a fic of them meeting, but…it’s a nice thought.

Actor/Actress you want to join the cast: Could you imagine if someone like Hiroki Yatsumoto voiced someone? Or Masaya Onosaka? Ahhhh or even Takahiro Sakurai! Just get Makoto Furukawa to guest star a character along with some other One Punch Man voice actors! It would be a fun time I’m sure.

Favourite outfit: I would say Knuckle. How does he stay looking so good??? His clothes never get dirty. But I do love how Pakunoda dresses. She just looks so lovely, ugghgh

Favourite item: The Hunter cards! ❤ They just look so iconic. Definitely Hotel Raffelasia. Gon’s fishing rod. And Crazy Slots!! Technically not an item himself, but Kite’s scythe is definitely the coolest weapon.

Do you own anything related to this show/book/film?: I do now. ❤

What house/team/group/friendship group/family/race/etc would you be in?: I would love to be in the little family Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio have together. I do have to say I would want to be apart of the Extermination Team, too! What great groups of friends.

Most boring plotline: I honestly did get bored watching through the Phantom Troupe and Greed Island Arcs when I first watched Hunter x Hunter, but I really need to rewatch them. When I think back on them, I feel like I didn’t appreciate them enough. I might enjoy them more after I watch it from the beginning again.

Most laughably bad moment: Whenever Hisoka shows up and he’s just like that

Best flashback/flashfoward if any: The one during Shoot’s inner monologue, and the one of Gon meeting Kite for the first time. Definitely. Even though Gon meeting Kite was the opening for Hunter x Hunter in the manga. There’s also the one Knuckle has where my most favorite picture comes from. ❤

Most layered character: I jokingly say Shoot because my goodness that man wears layers of bandages, but he really is a layered character. There’s actually a whole bunch of layered characters throughout the series.

Most one dimensional character: I’m honestly not sure.

Scariest moment (and Grossest moment, I’m mixing both questions for my answer): When the Chimera Ants would kill people.

Best looking male: Knuckle. I love my Shoot, but…Japanese pompadoured delinquents make me swoon. They are seriously my biggest weakness. Especially him. 💘💘💘 My poor, weak heart. I can’t even look at him without melting.

Best looking female: Pakunoda and Palm. Both women are beautiful in their own way. And Melody is of course very warm and sweet, I adore how she looks. ❤

Who you’re crushing on (if any): …Shoot… ❤💍

Favourite cast moment: When Megumi Han got really emotional speaking at one of the panels for The Last Mission in front of fans. It was so genuine and sweet.

Favourite transportation: I always loved the shuttle train! When Gon and Killua used to get to the tournament, and when Morel and the others traveled together. ❤ It makes me wish I could go on long and cozy train rides to different places like that in real life.

Most beautiful scene (scenery/shot wise): When Gon was hiding out to watch Hisoka in the bushes, and the sun shown through the trees. Anytime a scene would be in a forest or in walkways of trees, really! The way the sunlight shines through the trees and leaves in patches over the vast green surrounding is just so pretty. I just love the colors, contrast, everything. Oh! And when Knuckle was punching Youpi!!! Like ahhhhhh Madhouse!!! Every once in a while in Hunter x Hunter that fluid Madhouse animation would just hit you!

Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you: I wish we could have seen what Kite’s other rolls (weapons) were. 💔 Along with Hanzo’s, Knuckle’s, and Shoot’s backstories! We know just a bit about Knuckle’s past, but nothing about Hanzo nor Shoot really. I would want to know why they all became hunters!

Best promo: Hm…I haven’t seen promos or anything at all for the series. This wouldn’t fit the answer I don’t think, but I loved the little “To Be Continued” ending scenes with Gon and Killua. They were so cute! I actually missed them during the Chimera Ant Arc.

At what point did you fall in love with this show/book: Honestly, I’m not sure. I just ended up really liking it just by watching it from the beginning. Watching the first episode over at my love’s house piqued my interest in the series, but then a few weeks or so later I started watching it all the way through, and the rest was history. Everything blurs together for me because I literally blew through episodes watching them, but I had fun watching them all. And…even though the Chimera Ant Arc leaves me heartbroken and sickened, characters like Knuckle and Shoot came out of nowhere, and I was so excited to see them in such an awful part of the story. They were a breath of fresh air. And, of course…I got to meet Shoot. A character I will cherish and keep in my heart for the rest of my life. I already talk about him to death, but he came into my life at the perfect time. He gives me strength. I truly am happy I found Hunter x Hunter and just got into it.

shit sorry i forgot my tl;dr the first time i posted this: the tablet is big important and might have eridian writing on it, it ties into the temple, the loot gun, the tablet in tannis’s infirmary on sanc-iii, and the planet holograms in Eleseer from TPS. also you get a special melee tool to break the purple crystals that i'm like 70% sure are Eridium and also, you’re never gonna believe this, but I talk about Atlas for a little bit because of it.

when u try to break the purple rocks on Promethea, iirc the player character can say something to the effect of “have to come back here later”, so it’s possible later in the story we get something (the glowing red/orange/yellow) energy sword to break the purple rocks (eridium???). and yes you KNOW i pointed out the colors because Atlas.

After meleeing it, Moze says “let’s open you up” so im wondering if maybe those stone tablets come into play later? the (eridium?) crystals explode into sparkly purple powder

It’s weird, I feel like these are eridian ruins/tablets growing eridium or some shit. we’ve seen the ruins have lines of color across them before, but never strictly on one side. and also never saw them grow eridium. i wonder if that is a reaction to us opening the second vault on pandora? eridium grew on pandora from the 1st one, now it’s spreading because of the second? I deffo think Eridium is from the second dimension (it started growing on pandora after the opening of the Vault) and it’s our key to getting there.

i believe this is our first look at an ‘artifact’ which are replacing relics from bl2 and oz kits from tps. and like the interviews said, they’ll be effecting movement! this one turns your slide damage into cryo damage, lets you deal more radiation damage overall, and allows you to slide faster and further. i wonder how broken this can get on a downwards slope with a super high level slide relic. let’s break the sound barrier!

anyway, that’s all i saw that caught my eye. I still haven’t completed my Mask of Mayhem analysis, I was kinda hoping something during E3 would help me figure out who those mystery robed maliwan guys are on it, but alas we got nothing of real substance. oh, i also gotta finish that mural piece... aw fuck

Legacies 1x14, Let's Just Finish the Dance -- Review

Coming at you all with another Lega-Trash review. This week is 1x14, Let's Just Finish the Dance...and my sentiments exactly. This episode was so boring, I too wanted the dance known as this episode to just end. Please, let's just hurry up and finish this season.

You all know the drill, hopefully. Do I really need a disclaimer anymore? Lega-Trash is a trash show, I'm super critical of it. If you love Legacies, this is not the review for you, move along. There will be spoilers.

So welcome to the obligatory Miss Mystic Falls episode of Legacies. And in typical Lega-Trash fashion, they managed to make one of the most iconic events within the TVD show super bland and super dull. What happens in this episode? Well, the Salvatore School has to host this year's Miss Mystic Falls pageant and to no one's surprise, Hope wins. Also, Josie and Lizzie have a falling out which I've been waiting for all season, Hope and Landon have a falling out, Penelope spelled a bunch of pens to tell her everyone's secrets, Medusa makes an appearence and at the end of episode, Landon gets kidnapped by the evil government organization.

Yeah, this episode was just a sequence of events. It was super boring but as it turns out, there were a few scenes I didn't completely mind. Namely, all the Lizzie and Hope scenes. This might be the first relationship on this entire show that I legitimately believe. Seeing Lizzie and Hope bond together over their anger fueled magical tendencies was really nice to see. And the friendship is legitimately believable. And then it ends in these two making a pinky promise that they'll help each other get Josie and Landon back whom they've recently had falling outs with. Although, if Lizzie wants to help get Landon back with Hope, she's first going to have to rescue him from the evil government organization that kidnapped him.

Speaking of which, what a huge coincidence that apparently MG's mother also works for this shady government organization.

And can I just say that everyone in this school are idiots. So apparently around Christmas time, Penelope, I guess, gifted pens to everyone but really the pens were spelled so anything they wrote ended up in her own notebook so she knows all of the Salvatore inhabitants' secrets. Penelope, at best is The Mean Girl, and at worst, she's a psychopath. No one at all thought it was strange that Penelope of all people was giving away pens and they never once considered it was for nefarious purposes? Also, it's super convenient that apparently not a single person lost one of these pens and just used a regular pen to write down their secrets in their diary. I mean, I have like a dozen pens in my apartment at any given time because I'm ALWAYS losing them. It's also super convenient that everyone in this school has a diary. Of all the unbelievable and convenient things that have happened in this show so far, this is the worst. So Penelope knows all sorts of juicy details like that Hope is keeping secrets from Landon and that there's something called a merge that Alaric has been writing about. Penelope is actually leaving the school now but she gives the notebook to Josie and warns Josie about the merge. Caroline and Alaric really should have told the twins about the Gemini merge before. And this whole falling out Lizzie and Josie are currently in isn't going to help.

What is this falling out? Well, Josie has finally realized that Lizzie is very self-centered and rarely thinks about anyone but herself. This all started when Lizzie drops out of the pageant because Dana, the mean girl who died in I think the 3rd episode of this season, well her mother is one of the judges and Dana was notorious for her dislike of Lizzie so Lizzie realizes there's no way she could possibly win with Dana's mother on the judge's table. And can I just say real quick how incredibly weird it is that Dana's mother can talk so nonchalantly about her own daughter's death? I don't get the feeling that a whole lot of time has passed. At best, maybe six months and that's pushing it. You don't talk about your daughter's death as if your daughter is off traveling abroad or something. Like I said, it was weird. But then again, this show is really weird with death, in general. Even in this episode, Hope just kind of casually talks about her parents' deaths which really wasn't that long ago and in the previous episode, MG makes a speech to the school and makes this off-handed remark nonchalantly talking about the majority of the students who have nowhere to go for the spring holidays on account of their families being dead and it's really insensitive. These are adolescents and you're just nonchalantly bringing up their trauma in passing? But anyway, Lizzie decides that if she can't compete and she's so sure she was going to win, she's determined to make sure someone from the Salvatore school wins. She chooses Hope since Hope's an orphan and will have the sympathy vote. This understandably hurts Josie and it just kind of festers on from there. But I don't particularly understand Lizzie's logic in Hope being the winner because she's an orphan, though. Caroline went against an orphan as well and she won. But I suppose Lizzie is thinking her mother was amazing so that accounted for her victory. Which I would agree with Lizzie on that. Caroline was pretty amazing and she worked her ass off to get that crown. I suppose in a room of people who weren't necessarily training their entire lives for this moment, an orphan would be the best bet. But by the end of the episode, Josie realizes she wanted that crown and is angry at Lizzie for giving that opportunity to Hope instead, for giving Hope the dress that Klaus gave Caroline without any regard to Hope's feelings on the matter. But in Lizzie's defense, up until this point, Josie had never been vocal about the things she wanted (I'm not excusing Lizzie's behavior, just simply saying it's not as if Josie was ever being bullied into doing these things for Lizzie, she did do those things because she wanted to) and Lizzie didn't know the dress had come from Klaus and it's kind of understandable why she didn't. I think it would be pretty awkward for Caroline to tell her daughters that Hope's father was once obsessed with her but with that said, I have no idea why Josie knows and not Lizzie but whatever. It's probably just a plot contrivance to show why Lizzie is awful. But once Lizzie realizes the implications of that dress and Hope wearing a reminder of her father, she instantly feels terrible about it. And Hope conveniently finds out in the middle of the dance where the dress came from because her ex-vampire boyfriend can hear Josie and Lizzie's conversation, I also don't understand why Hope can't hear them though, she is a hybrid, I thought werewolves had that ability as well. But her ex tells her about the dress, she starts to freak out about it and as she's announced the winner, her magic is about to go on the fritz again so Lizzie, noticing the signs, immediately walks up to Hope and hugs her and tells her to cry it out because that's what she needs. A great moment for Lizzie and Hope by the way and I think this was the first time this show illicited genuine emotion from me that wasn't despair over how bad this show is.

Speaking of the dress, let's play Who Wore It Better. Let me know what you think. I think it looks better on Candice. I feel like her blond hair contrasted better with the blue and brought the blue in the dress out more. But Danielle also looks gorgeous in it, too, her hair just doesn't quite bring out the colors as well as Candice's did. Or maybe they used a slightly different color palette on Danielle's dress.

But anyway, ultimately, this episode was more of the same. Just very boring, no real structure to it. Once again, this show is hanging on the coattails of TVD success and it cannot stand on it's own. There were some nice scenes in it, thoughand we are at last getting some character progression. However, I'm not a huge fan that it's taken 14 episodes to get some character development. This episode gets a C+ from me.

HTTYD Q&A

1. Which movie is your favorite?

Definitely the second one; although that is subject to change after Friday! Though the first one is amazing, you can’t beat the emotional intensity of the second one. I was brought to tears several times throughout the film, and completely blown away by the voice acting. That’s not even mentioning the amazing animation quality and writing.

2. Who is your favorite dragon rider?

Astrid Hofferson, one hundred percent. I completely love how strong she is, both mentally and physically. She’s such an amazing role model for young girls; and everyone to be honest. I also love her witty sense of humour, and I find her the most relatable out of all the dragon riders.

3. Who is your favorite dragon character?

Okay, unpopular opinion but I don’treallycareaboutthedragonsallthatmuch, Don’t get me wrong; they’re adorable, but I watch it for the plot and amazing characters and bonds. If I had to choose though, probably Hookfang. His relationship with Snotlout is hilarious.

4. Which dragon species os your favorite?

Definitely the deadly nadder. I love sharp class dragons, what with their second line of defence and all. I also think that their bird-like qualities are adorable. They’re fast and agile, though not to the extent that strike class is, yet another reason I like them.

5. Which villain is your favorite?

I don’t know, but if I had to pick probably Dagur. He’s one of the only ones to get a redemption arc, though I would have appreciated some more backstory on him. He seems to me like a lonely kid who lost his way, never truly wanting to be evil. I also like his relationship with Heather; which can be summed up in his line “Well, when you only care about yourself, life is simple. Your actions are clear, consequences... (laughs) Who cares? But when that changes...”. He really did have a change of character when Heather showed up, which I guess makes him more of an anti-hero than a villain.

6. Movies or shows?

Ahhh okay, that’s a tough question. Though Httyd 2 is my favourite piece from this franchise, I have to say shows, simply for the fact of character development within the secondary characters. If you haven’t seen Rtte, I highly recommend watching it. It’s such a surreal experience to witness the characters growth over time, not to mention their bond maturing. It adds a whole new layer of depth to the show, which makes it that much more amazing.

7. RTTE or ROB/DOB?

Definitely Rtte, after season two that is. Rob and Dob tend to have a very two dimensional view of the characters, having them act one way the entire show. They also don’t tend to strengthen the bond between the characters, or develop it in any way. Yes, I do bring up their bond a lot. It’s definitely aimed at a much younger audience, so I view it as something entertaining to watch as a filler, as opposed to something I can emotionally connect with.

8. Which Jónsi credits song was your favorite?

Omg Together From Afar had me in tears! That is the best one by far. “You are the reason to go on livin'” is my favourite part of the song, it really showcases Hiccup’s fears of being without Toothless. Which I’m assuming will be a main plot line of the third film. Like I said, haven’t seen it yet.

9. Which score was your favorite?

To be honest, I’ve only listened to part of the second and third films’ scores. I will say that I absolutely adore the score from the first film, and it basically got me through exam week. It’s obviously the most iconic one, what with ‘This is Berk’ and ‘Forbidden Friendship’. I have to listen to the others before I can say for sure though.

10. Favorite song from the 1st score?

It’s a tie between ‘Romantic Flight’ and ‘Forbidden Friendship’. Yes, I know I picked the two most popular tracks, but you say basic, I say iconic. Romantic Flight is so surreal to me, I can almost see myself in the sky with Hiccup and Astrid when I listen to it, and experience none of the other songs quite achieved. Forbidden Friendship on the other hand completely sums up the movie. It always makes me fall in love with the franchise all over again.

11. Favorite song from the 2nd score?

The only one I can recall is ‘Dragon Racing’, though I may be biased because of how often I watch Rtte.

12. Favorite song from the 3rd score?

So far, the only one I’ve allowed myself to listen to is ‘Together From Afar’, though I have no doubt that John Powell will top all of his other work in this film.

13. Favorite moment from the 1st movie?

You know that moment, right before they battle the Red Death? The one where all of the future dragon riders are together in the arena, ready to fight by Hiccup’s side; for dragons; for the very first time? It still sends chills down my spine from how amazing it was. I can’t even describe it, but it was the turning point in not only Hiccup’s life, but the entire franchise. They all knew each other growing up, but that was the first moment their bond was truly forged. Can you spell character development? It was a tie between this and ‘For Everything Else’, but you guys probably don’t want to read an essay about that; you already know how amazing it is.

14. Favorite moment from the 2nd movie?

My favourite moment in the entire franchise is at the beginning of this movie. The scene where Hiccup and Astrid are talking and working on the map. Not only was it super romantic, it really highlighted their personalities, and the development that had occurred since the first film. It also set the tone of maturity for the film, as well as foreshadowed some character development which had yet to come. The very character development which I hope will continue into the third film.

15. Favorite moment from the 3rd movie?

Haven’t seen it yet, though I feel like it might be the Hiccstrid wedding.

16. Toothless or Light Fury?

Again, haven’t seen the movie yet, but I doubt they’ll be able to create the same connection to the Light Fury as they have with Toothless. Not to mention that I read she’s the cause of many of the problems in then third movie.

17. Hiccstrid or NightLight?

Okay, not even a question - Hiccstrid. They have such an amazing dynamic, and are one of the most relatable couples I’ve ever seen. I could go on for days about how amazing they are, but I’m sure you already know. They have a history together, something that can’t be created in one movie’s film length.

18. Fly with Toothless or fight alongside Hiccup?

I have to choose fight alongside Hiccup. After all he’s been through, and with the threat of having to let go of Toothless, he need all the support he can get. He needs to know, more than anything, that people will still stand by him without his dragon. I mean, I probably wouldn’t be much help in a fight, but I’d still try.

19. Own any merch? If so which things?

So far, other than DVD’s, the only piece of mercy I own is a Httyd 3 poster. It’s just the standard one, with Hiccup standing between the Light Fury and Toothless, but I love it nonetheless. I hope to get more though when it all is released after the third movie.

Cutie Reviews: Sakuraco May 21

Okay, it’s been a few days but I’m here now. Actually, I’m in a really bad mood so I thought writing would get my mind off of it.

“Thank you for joining us for our last box of spring. We’re rounding off the season by featuring two of the most iconic flavors of he season - mochi and sakura. Our mochi inspiration comes from the dishes served at one of Japan’s most lively festivals, Children’s Day. Coincidentally, late April/early May is also the final bloom of sakura for the year.“

For this month, the booklet highlights Rosmarin (specializing in health, beauty, and a little fun through their tea and sweets), Tanaka Hashiten (home good producers), Kanagawa prefecture, and information about mochi and Children’s Day.

Bonus Items

This month, the bonus was a bit disappointing, considering these were items from our first box, which came about 2 boxes ago from this one. I like that we get these, but I was kind of led to believe they would be unique items back when they were advertising this feature for the box. It’s fine if you like the particular items though, and it’s still a kind gesture of them to include these for free, so I do appreciate it.

Fig Dorayaki & Kinako Mochi

Long-time viewers may be able to recognize the kinako snack in the pic, we’ve seen these plenty of times in Tokyo Treat. But for anyone unfamiliar, this type of mochi is like a cracker, it’s not chewy, as you can see. They dissolve in the mouth with a coating of roasted soybean flour (kinako) and sanbon sugar. Vegan friendly, no allergens. Made by Iwatsuka Confectionery in Niigata.

I like the light crispiness of these, the kinako flavoring is strong and I think they make a nice light snack for tea time or just on the go. They dry out the mouth a little, so a drink is nice to keep in handy.

Our next item is one we’ve seen before too, but interestingly enough, this time the dorayaki has fig mixed in with the red bean :o I’ve never heard of that before. I have no real opinions on fig, I grew up eating fig newtons (little pastry-like cookies with jelly inside) but I’ve never been in love with them.

Vegan friendly, contains egg and wheat. Made by Hiyoshi Confectionery in Shimane.

Like with fig newtons, I was okay with this. I didn’t necessarily love it, but I didn’t think it was bad either. The flavoring inside was a bit vague for me to figure out, it had the red bean texture, but I suppose it tasted like fig. Super dry for my mouth.

Plum Mochi, Kanten Sakura Mochi, & Mitarashi Mochi Monaka

From Kubota Confectionery in Nagano comes this adorable little pink mochi sweet, featuring a plum jelly inside with light marshmallow coating. Non-vegan, contains gelatin. We got a whole bag of them in this box!

I love mochi, especially pink ones :3 You can’t go wrong with pink. Anyway, these were delicious ♥ it’s sweet and soft, chewy, and the plum jelly inside tasted like actual plum! It wasn’t pickled or sour tasting, maybe a little tangy but it was yummy.

Our next sweet also features a jelly-ish texture, you may recall that in our previous box we got some like this. But this time, it comes from Ohara Confectionery in Nagano. As this contains animal by-products, it’s not vegan friendly. No allergens however.

I like the smooth-jelly texture of it, but I wasn’t super crazy about the sakura flavoring itself. It’s not floral or sweet, it seems kind of... not bitter, but maybe bland? It’s an acquired taste I think, because sometimes I like it.

This next item I was very excited for, I’ve always wanted to try mitarashi dango after I tried a Japanese candy kit featuring an imitation of it, so this is probably one of the closest chances I’ll get for the time being. This comes from Eguchi Confectionery located in Fukuoka. Not vegan friendly as it may contain animal byproducts, contains eggs and minor traces of milk, soybeans, and sesame.

Mitarashi sauce is a sweetened soy sauce with a fresh, slightly spicy after-note, usually made as a glaze for foods. This specific mitarashi is combined with a bit of mochi and red bean, snuggled inside a wafer.

The inside texture was chewy and reminded me of red beans, but the filling was sweet and only tasted like the mitarashi itself. In the “heart“ of it was a chewy, mochi core. It was very yummy! They gave us two of them too x3 I couldn’t be happier~

Rikishi Mochi Monaka & Sakura Cream Sandwich

Next up we got 2 sandwich cookie-esque pieces, as you can see they both have pretty designs on them too. First is the Monaka, made by Tenkei Confectionery in Niigata. This specific wafer snack was inspired by sumo wrestlers, who are said to eat a lot of mochi to build up strength. The filling is a combination of mochi and red beans. Vegan friendly, contains wheat and soybean with minor traces of egg and milk.

I’m kind of fickle with red bean snacks, sometimes I like them and sometimes I don’t. If it’s super-strong in flavor I usually don’t enjoy it. I didn’t think it was too bad with this one. The wafer was very fragile and easily broke apart, in fact they kind of made a bit of a mess while I ate, and they stuck to my lips and inner-mouth. The wafer has no flavor to it either. I didn’t dislike it, but it’s not something I see myself wanting more of.

I love the pretty flower design on this one, especially when combined with the lovely flower print package! These are by Nagara-en in Gifu. These wafers are made from fried mochi and feature a thin layer of sweet vanilla cream. Vegan friendly, contains egg and wheat, and traces of milk, soy, almond, orange, kiwi, banana, apple, and sesame.

That’s a lot isn’t it?

There is cream in here, and even though it’s super-thin and looks practically invisible from the side, you can bet it’s there! It’s just sweet enough to avoid becoming cloying, and the wafer is very crispy. It’s the complete opposite of the red bean monaka, and I could eat several of these with no hesitation!

Sakura Mini Baumkuchen, Sakura Sable Cookie, & Sencha Tea

By Mikawa Daikokudo in Aichi comes a mini-baumkuchen cake. Last month we received a strawberry cake, this one is sakura. Did you know, as of this year baumkuchen has been in Japan for 102 years?! It was originally brought over from Germany in 1919.

Vegan friendly, contains egg, wheat, soybeans, and milk.

I like trying these baumkuchen cakes. It’s on the moist side and they go great with drinks. This one came off as kind of average to me, I didn’t really taste any overwhelmingly strong flavors.

Our next item comes from one of the featured makers, Rosmarin, located in Yamanashi. Vegan friendly, contains egg, wheat, soybeans, and milk, along with cherry blossom extract. The cookie contains a creamy chocolate in the center and was made using cherry blossom petals.

This was really good :3 I’m not very big on white chocolate, but on occasion it can taste pretty good. I didn’t really taste cherry blossom, but it reminded me so much of the macadamia cookies my mom used to bring home from work when I was younger, and they had a white chocolate accent that I really liked.

Our tea this month comes from Brooks in Kanagwa. Sencha is a form of green tea, with it’s flavor coming from tea leaves rather then actual powder.

I’m beginning to wonder if we’ll ever get a tea/drink I like. But this is only the 3rd box of Sakuraco, I’m being too impatient. The booklet describes this as bitter and they were not kidding! I found it to be unpleasant, even with various sweets paired with it. Even when I tried to sweeten it myself I just couldn’t seem to figure out how to make it more enjoyable.

Fukuruko Shiruko & Sakura Owan Bowl

I’m sorry I couldn’t show you the Fukuruko Shiruko in better condition, but the blowfish-shaped wafer it came in was busted up really bad by the time I got it. No clue what happened, but it couldn’t be saved. So I made the soup it was in anyway and put it in our new bowl. Vegan friendly, contains milk.

These soup powder-filled wafers have been pretty popular lately I think, I’ve been seeing a few youtubers I watch getting them. This specific soup is a red bean and mochi porridge. The wafer is obviously edible, and the soup gives it a sorta chewy texture, and on the inside are a few pieces of mochi. As you can see by the picture they stretch and become chewy when exposed to heat.

So... I liked the mochi and wafer, and I like sweet things so it was kinda cool trying a sweet porridge. But as a fickle red bean person, I didn’t exactly enjoy that flavoring. It was alright, but not my favorite.

Himesakura Kuzumochi

We’re nearly finished, this next item is a jiggly, traditional sweet incorporating a light sakura flavor. Included is a packet of kinako powder for sprinkling on top. Vegan friendly, contains soybeans. Comes from Surugaya in Osaka.

See, here I like the sakura flavor. It was sweet and very refreshing~

Azuki Warubi Mochi

Our last item is pretty much the same thing, but this one was made from red bean and contains the actual beans in the jelly-ish mochi. Isn’t that fun?

This one comes from Yamada Confectionery in Tokushima. It’s vegan friendly and contains no allergens. It also included the kinako powder, as you can see. I’m not very delicate when adding it <_<

Again, the flavoring is pretty light so I find it tolerable. I didn’t even mind eating the cold red beans in it, and it was still refreshing. This one seemed a bit more firm, but it still jiggled a bit.

Opinions

Content - 4 out of 5. I enjoyed this box! I didn’t hate anything and it all seems to go together well. A few items were a little broken up, but it didn’t ruin it for me.

Theme: 5 out of 5.

Total Rank: 8 out of 10 Cuties. As a possible farewell to spring, I thought this box did really well. I’m kind of glad and hope we’ll be moving away from red beans and sakura/cherry blossoms, I’ve had enough of them. I’m excited to see what type of things we’ll be getting for summer!

Should You Battle It: Pokemon GO Gym Edition

So aside from actually playing the game, which is still great fun, one of my favorite things to do in Pokemon GO is to find gyms and in my minds eye think of what they’d be like if they were, you know, actual gyms with themes and leaders that matched their locations. With that in mind I thought I’d go through a few examples from my neck of the woods I’ve seen and/or battled at to see if it would be a good idea to fight the leaders of these particular gyms if they were akin to those found in the games.

Milwaukee Art Museum:

Fight it. Look, I like the art museum, I really truly do, but it is on every single solitary piece of travel advertising for the city. Battle the leader there on principal alone.

Beware though, it’s either gonna be some extremely extra art fanatic with a Furfrou that’ll be a pain to finally wear down, or the most tired on-the-border-of-dissociating art student who has given up on pretense who’ll send out a Smeargle with the most OP moves it could possibly Sketch.

Blood Center of Wisconsin:

Wait what? Why? It’s probably manned by one of the really nice nurses that help you not be scared of the needles and serve cookies and juice when you’re done donating, why would you fight that? I mean OK their calls for donations can get a little repetitive but it’s for a good cause!

Get ready, I’ve seen enough of the anime to know that medical staff tend to come with some extremely high HP Pokemon. Chansey, Blissey, Audino and the like will be barring your path, probably with a Comfey to help out with healing. Maybe a Tropius that gives out fruit to those who have donated. Buckle up for a tough fight and be sure you donate afterwards.

Starbucks:

No. Just... don’t. Walk away. Do not battle. Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

Why? Think about it. Dimes to donuts the leader you’re gonna have to fight is gonna be a barista who’s had to sit through hundreds of soccer moms demanding to speak to their manager cause their double java chip raspberry wall caramel floor semi hot no foam extra no sugar fair trade sweetener only blue sprinkles diet water had three sugar molecules out of place. Within their souls bubbles an unholy cauldron of bottled up rage hidden only barely by a customer voice and the most plastic smile they can conjure. Challenge them and you’ve essentially volunteered to be their venting target for the afternoon.

It doesn’t matter what they pick, you’re gonna lose. Badly. They could send out a Ratatta named Pringo and you’ll still somehow lose. They’ll be standing over you with the Sentret they used to physically demolish your top tier Legendary asking if you’d like some ice for that burn.

The Kiltie:

Probably one of the more iconic places to get frozen custard in Wisconsin, and one of the very few places besides Sonic that still fills the drive in niche.

The verdict? Sure, why not. Honestly the ladies working there in plaid skirts probably know there’s only one line of Pokemon anyone expects of them, namely the Vanillite/Vanillish/Vanilluxe line. Maybe a Lickitung if they’re more flexible. Whoever’s in the leader’s seat is probably used to having the beginner trainers try out their new Charmander on some place they know they’ll have a type advantage with and get some nice frozen custard afterwards. If they see you coming with something powerful though they might have something more powerful like a Lapras or Jynx or some other Ice type in reserve for a better fight. Either accept the fun or be ready for a surprise or two.

Miller Park:

A gym where the Brewers play... this one could be tricky. They’ve been doing decently this season, but I don’t think they’re as well known as, say, the Red Sox or the Cubs. That might mean the player they’d probably put in charge might be a little more easygoing, but on the other hand it might mean he might act like he’s got something to prove. Treat it like a Fighting gym and stock up on some powerful Fairy or Psychic types in case it gets loud.

Oh and you’ll probably have to battle the Racing Sausages before that so... yea just kinda psychologically prepare yourself for that.

Milwaukee County Zoo Small Mammals House:

There are a lot of gyms packed away at the Milwaukee County Zoo, so I’m gonna go with the two I briefly conquered the last time I went there.

Should you battle the leader of this one? Yes. Definitely.

It’s the small mammal house, what’re they gonna have? Spinda? Furret? Zubat? Nothing there’s gonna get much bigger than a terrier. If anything this’d be a starter encounter for the beginner trainer. Nothing here would be a major threat to an experienced trainer short of some really bad luck against Confusion inflicting moves. Have fun with the battle and remember to get one of those cool wax figurines on your way out.

Milwaukee County Zoo Primate House:

On the other hand, you have this one. Considering the beefy primate lineup like Infernape, Primape, Oranguru, and Passimian, or more diverse members like Ambipalm and the Pan trio, you’re gonna get hit with a wide and powerful moveset without much of a common theme. The keeper they put in the leader chair will have worked with things multiple times stronger than any human and smarter than you’d think. Do not fight the primate house leader unless you’re up for a knock down drag out fight.

Norskie Nook:

WHY?? Like 1/3rd of the staff are sweet grannies who serve you the best pie in 100 miles why would you battle them??

NO, do not fight them. The second you throw the Pokeballs and start showing aggression they’re gonna pull every sad look they’ve cultivated and ply you with pie to calm you down and make you forget about battling. Even if you win against whatever Drampa they have you’re gonna feel so bad you’ll never show your face there again.

Ice Age Trail:

There’s a few along this long trail, so I’m kind of condensing them. You have a 50/50 shot here: either you’ll be battling a nice trail guide who’s just there to see the sights and have a nice friendly battle, or you’ll be facing someone who fully embraces the Ice Age imagery and has loaded up on the scariest Fossil Pokemon and Mammoswine they can find. Do your homework before approaching this gym.
