Ramblings about my Shared Astral Temple

Apparently, astral temples, or inner temples, are not uncommon among magical practitioners. Mostly they are personal places, for individual magical peeps. But also really like the idea of shared astral temples, which I’ve seen used in a couple of systems of magic.

About two years ago, an online friend and I started creating our own temple, which we would enter and work on, and in, at least once a week. We did this for a while, just the two of us, and then more recently, I invited some new people to join our temple ritual time.

I figured, more people working with the temple makes it stronger, or develop more quickly. But also I just want to feel like I’m participating in this thing with other people, connecting on some other realm of existence. An imagined place, but still real in some sense of the word. And it is real. We created it, it exists when we think about it, or even when we’re not thinking about it.

Anyway, where was I going with this?

Well, turns out it’s kind of hard to have other people be as invested in the thing as I am. I’ve thought about opening it up for more people to join, and share our experiences online. I even started making a grimoire focused around the temple.

But there’s been personal conflicts and confusion, and I don’t even feel like I know what I’m doing most of the time.

But still, I really like my astral temple and having spirit guests in it, whether they are connected to physical human people or not. My tulpa/thoughtform now works in the astral temple, cleaning up and tending to the guests. I guess it is a kind of busy place now, even if it’s mostly on my end (and imagined, but whatever, it’s fun).

im obsessed with the neverafter party composition btw. no cleric. no druid. relying on a BARD and a RANGER for healing...... so many class choices that lean support & utility (ranger, bard, rogue) and we don’t have anyone’s subclasses yet, which could push the fighter and even barb in that direction depending on which subclass murph and emily pick, and the things lou could do with the modularity of the warlock class........... AHHH i hope they all make it to level 3

I have EXTREME brain worms with this man, and since I already talket about his lore here, I’m using his ref sheet to share facts about him!

Rambles under the cut

- He has 25% dragon blood, as his grandparent was a dragon. This manifests on black scales on his arms, and plates on his chest and shoulders. His fangs are slightly pointy, aswell as his ears. It isn't noticeable here but his eyes are slightly reptilian too

- He also inherited part of his draconid ancestry's magic, specifically an small affinity towards acid and poison. Like a dragon, he's able to produce acidic clouds from his mouth, and has some small form of manipulation over them. He uses his breath-like weapon to obscure vision and AOE, since it doesn't inflicts much damage, but was extremely useful in the past combined with the combat tactics his group used to employ. His venom is also inflammable, and can be condensed into liquids to coat his weapons with

- Since he's hiding his identity at the moment, he's disguising himself as a pyromancer. He carries ropes with him on his arms and waist and burns the extremes, so he's able to turn his breath weapon into a makeshift flamethrower

- He got his top surgery on his mid-late 20's, while on the military, and he transitioned a few years before! He's also MLM, not sure himself if gay or bi/male oriented. He just,,, likes men in general

Bliss is the Guardian of Positivity and Dusk is the Guardian of Negativity. Comet and Umbra just help their brothers with it. On Earth, however, Umbra is an artist and Comet is a singer.

Valentin is a rough-and-tumble dance teacher. Tarantella is Valentin's dance teaching partner. Waltz and Merrick are both idols.

Gael is a very famous and popular sorcerer for hire. Zayn is also a sorcerer for hire. Smolder and Holden are sorcerers for hire as well, but they pick up lighter jobs.

Elryc is a sorcerer who avoids involving himself with others. Relic, Beyron, and Blaise are all sorcerers for hire.

Rune works for Dusk and is a very dangerous fighter. Runar and Rhydian work with Tusche to get their brother back.

Forrest and Juniper are guards of Laurel. Adair is a licensed doctor.

Morte is a guide in the dark as well as a worker for Dusk. Draven, and Granite work with Tusche to get their brother back.

Lucien is a guide in the light. Vitale and Vitus help fight and guide.

Lenovo is the Destroyer of AUs and Virus helps him sometimes. Virus is a professional hacker. Lenovo is very fond of knitting.

Tusche is the Protector of AUs and Acrylic helps him sometimes. Acrylic is an artist.

Spiro and Dagger are just people who work under Dusk.

Einar and Cassiel don't have official jobs as they just wander the multiverse.
