Small but significant character moments that I actually really adore are from both the times we see the boys as tots. There is a reoccurrence that happens in both of them that I find so incredibly interesting.
For the turtle tot short, Splinter leaves the boys with weapons. In the short, Raph is the one who suggests they do “what Lou Jitsu would do” and Leo is the one who takes point when Splinter comes back to reprimand them. Leo, in taking point, is the one to defend them and get Splinter off their tails.
And then, in the flashback regarding the Kuroi Yōroi helmet, Raph is the one who grabs and throws “Skully” as a way to replace their missing ball which breaks it into pieces, but Leo is the one who speaks for the group and rushes into action to fix the teapot.
I love this for multiple reasons, but the biggest are how it shows that Raph has always been inclined toward the bold and fun and making the plans to include his brothers in what he loves and believes they’d love, whereas Leo has always been inclined to be the “Face” of the group and shoulder the attention even if it’s potentially negative all while coming up with on the spot attempts to fix the situation.

going further. franks child self was living in that one room with a strange weirdo boy he dreamed up but never really had. now his inner child isn’t alone anymore. he plays games with his real charlie in their terrible one room apartment. getting weird with it and being okay with being weird no matter what everyone on the outside might think. sharing a bed together to feel the comfort in being close to that
macs child self had charlie the whole time. inseparable. a package deal. the most genuine connection and comfort in both of their neglected tiny lives. not just because they were otherwise alone. decades later theyre not going anywhere. now their inner child rides bikes together they throw rocks at trains together they teach each other about the world just like they needed so desperately in old times
dennis’ child self never had charlie. not until highschool. but that was exactly when he experienced his csa. his inner child found charlie at the exact right moment. caught him when he fell. he got his child self back through charlie just as he lost feeling. and now what do the two of them do together? they go recreate memories and recapture lost youth with a mutual unspoken understanding of why
they all need charlie. relaxing into his genuine youthful energy lets them feel that way again.

“It was, however, the death of the eldest boy, the Duc de Bourgogne, in 1761 that left the seven-year-old Louis Auguste with a permanent inferiority complex. His parents made no secret of their lamentations at the death of the favourite (whom Maria Josepha had called that special pet name, her chou d’amour). The man in charge of Louis Auguste, the Duc de Vauguyon…also took the opportunity to lecture him on his inadequacy for the role [of future king] once played by his incomparable brother.” • Antonia Fraser, Marie Antoinette: The Journey
“[O]n the eve of Easter 1761 Bourgogne died. For his parents and the King, who had thought very highly of him, it was a terrible blow. [Louis Auguste] was now a future King of France. But he had been brought up without the adulation usually given to future Kings. On the contrary, all through his formative years he had been put in the shade, treated as a foil for brilliant Bourgogne. As a result, he was that rare creature, a prince with a poor opinion of himself.” • Vincent Cronin, Louis and Antoinette
Portraits of Louis Joseph Xavier, Duc de Bourgogne (b. 1751) and his brother Louis Auguste, Duc de Berry, later Louis XVI (b. 1754) by Jean-Martial Frédou, 1760

Anyone else notice the Karns own a droid but whenever we see it, it’s always powered down in the corner? Like it’s only turned on to perform its duties. It’s just a tool, not part of the family.
Compare that to how the Andors treat B2EMO. He’s the beloved family pet, Maarva and Cassian love him.
He’s not pushed away to the side. His little charging bay is right next to Maarva’s chair so he can keep her company. The Andors would rather have Bee charging all the time than power him down.
It just goes to show how cold and closed-off the Karn’s home life is. They don’t keep their droid on long enough to form a bond with it, they don’t get attached (Eedy doesn’t want them to get attached to anything but each other).
So while young Cassian got to play with B2 on the streets of Ferrix, Syril was probably getting told off for trying to talk to the cleaning droid :(

💌 anon…NOT talking about dottore??? yes but no he’s always gonna be mentioned bc i have some thoughts
but! it’s childe’s birthday. i think that man would 100% always be bringing his reader home to his parents, and if they were his childhood friend that would be even better 👀 (he definitely was the kind of kid to propose or be like ‘youre def gonna be my spouse in the future :)) u cant date anyone else!!!’ and he takes it SERIOUSLY).
on dottore…there was a trend going around on “fanart trope of you meeting your partners younger self” and we technically already have that with fragile reader! probably holding tiny zandy in their hands and clutching him close to read him something (to help keep their development sharp!) unless it gets painful but…dottore meeting younger reader (like akademiya reader) and just getting a little sad bc he misses his reader being able to do whatever they wanted freely. Even if that meant he had to get jealous because “how dare they set up reader with another lab partner for this project. theyre *my* lab partner for life” and for life it is :)

💌 ANON BACK AGAIN WITH SUPERIOR TOP-TIER THOUGHTS!!
Ahhh yes 😫😫 Going to see Childe's family has become kind of a tradition for you, you go to them to celebrate the holidays, birthdays, or literally for no special reason at all, etc. Courtesy of Childe who always escorts you on the boat ride there, and is telling you the whole time how excited they are to see you and that they've missed you so much! (You saw them last month)
Omfg childhood friend Childe 💖 THE ANGST + FLUFF POTENTIAL... Going from little kids playing in the snow to when he falls in the Abyss and he starts acting way different and you get kind of pushed away when he joins the Fatui and you think he doesn't like you much anymore/doesn't remember that oath he made as kids...😶 But yea DEFINITELY It's very emphasized how Childe neverrr breaks promises so when he promises that to you, he's being 100% serious and he always fulfills his promises... Dw the Fatui is covering the costs for the wedding! Also consider: Childe + promise rings, I think he'd want to wait to marry you after a lot of the hardcore Fatui stuff dies down just for your safety so he gifts you that ring as a reminder to wait for him 💖💖
NOT U HITTING ME WITH THE DOT FLUFF TO ANGST... 😧 But omg... I can just imagine little Zandy sitting on fragile reader's lap as they read him a story! Well sometimes the story is a lengthy textbook but that's fine since you gotta keep your brain active sometimes!
For story purposes... let's just say an experiment went wrong... and Dottore suddenly sees the familiar grounds of the Akademiya in front of his very eyes, more specifically the library, and most importantly, you. You, who donned the familiar green, gold, and white hues of the Akademiya's uniform. You, who were hanging off a ladder looking for a book on the high shelves like it was no big deal. You, who were smiling and giggling even though you probably had a 20-page essay due before midnight. You, who looked so happy... just like how he remembered you. Ah, how many centuries ago that was. It seems even he must grow weak to time sometimes.
... And then his eyes travel down to some person calling for you. Who the hell is that? Why are you working with someone besides him? And then he thinks, this scene is probably from before he got to know you. But still...
He idly wonders if he killed that pest in the past, but he can't remember because he doesn't care about his irrelevant victims.
